Is nice to be back in World Market. I miss the place. We use to have one in Stockton, Ca., but their contact wasnt renew. It was really sad to see them go.I hope come back and reopen store again.As for this store, it nice and staff was awesome and very nice. I only wish they have better selection in ornaments. I didnt see much in wood, clay, and polymer ornaments. Mostly aluminum, fabric and other stuff ornaments.The selection in wines wasnt much. Out of all that, staff was terrific. Thank you
Dont get me wrong I love world market. Unfortunately, I was in there yesterday with no mask shopping, I have nose bleeds when I wear one, and Im not good at tight spaces, which is what the mask makes me feel. So one of the store employees ask me about the mask, and I kindly rejected. We both went about our business. I go up to check out and the guy at the register ask me again. Im checking out and hes scanning my items, and begins to argue with me about the mask thing. Saying he has to call management on me not wearing one. Really!! Im checking out already what difference does it make. So I just told him to keep his stuff and walked out. He was just rude.
I’ve been shopping here for years but for at least the last 6 months, this store has been poorly staffed and managed. I left today without making my purchases because there were about 10 people in line with only one cashier. This happens here all the time. There are other staff doing misc tasks in the store but they don’t open additional cash registers. I just don’t get it.
Great variety of wines and beers, coffees and teas. They have everything from scented soaps and candles to glassware,dishes and cooking utensils. They also have a really good imported food section and lots of variety on chocolate bars. Theres always lots of parking available and great customer service inside.
Manager INRAM. Not helpful in helping obtain a 20% coupon for my purchases it took me 2 1/2 hours to gather for Xmas. I have been a customer for over 20 years and I was made to feel unimportant here. Products are great , however service poor! They send me plenty of text messages to get me in with promises of coupons, when I get in shop and get to the check stand its a different story, then they dont have time for you, want you to pay with out the promised savings!
I am a loyal customer with World Market, Howe Avenue. This is a review regarding a customer Mary Lou Mata, I was at the store shopping and I overheard this lady shouting and getting loud, getting bullying. Mary Lou Mata was there Dec 16, 2020 and I had been looking for this review because she had mentioned she was going to social media and leave a negative review, which really upset me because she was being impatient. I was in line watching the whole thing, the worker was being very helpful to her and she had asked him to help her find coupons on her phone and the gentleman was trying his best to do so. Then she yelled at him when the coupons were not opening up in the phone do to spam reasons, she clearly blamed the gentleman because the coupons did not come up on her phone. Also the coupons do not usually work on food items according to my experience though out the years with World Market. She had approximately 5-6 items in the cart and she stated it took her over 2 hours to shop for these items. Later I asked that gentleman his name and he stated it was Imran. He was such a sweetheart. Mary Lou clearly was being so rude to Imran. Its sad to see great workers being harassed and blamed for there great efforts. I never had one bad experience with World Market.
I fell in love with the Jaden chair after ordering two for curbside pick up. However, one of the chairs was defective (frame appear misaligned so chair would not sit level) and upon exchanging at the store, received another defective chair (back is visibly deformed as an interior panel/padding is protruding). After numerous calls with customer service and the store, I am on my third visit to the store (15 miles away) and have been told this is the only option to remedy the situation. Hope others have better luck with their curbside orders and customer service.
Love this store! Great selection of food from pastas to sauces, candy from classic nostalgia and hard to find to sweets from Asia ( try the green tea Kitt Kat bar) seasonal favorites like Marzipan and more. Unique and refreshing beverages from soda in unique flavors to a wide range of beers and wines. Beautiful decor for your home or office like artwork, knick knacks and the cutest holiday decorations all year long. Customer Service is always helpful and friendly.
I dont visit often because its hard to get checked out when youre ready to leave. Today the person behind me went to the manager who was right in front doing inventory and had been ignoring us. She called for another cashier and no one came. When people started leaving their items and walking out, she finally paid attention and got on a register to help. I wont be going back and I think several others are done too. So disappointed.
Probably the worst experience buying furniture I’ve ever had. Placed an order online to pick up in store and paid for the item online. Received a confirmation email a few hours later saying the item was ready for pick up, so I scheduled to have a trailer ready to come to the location and pick up the item. I arrived before the person with the trailer did and came up to the front to see if they could pull the boxes out for them so that when the trailer was ready we can load up the couch quickly and go. As I started the checking out process the lady working there (who I assume is a manager) tells me that she cannot ring me up because there is something wrong with the online order... um what? She tells me the only way I can take the couch home today is to pay for it AGAIN! Even though I pulled up the confirmation email that said I paid... my bank account which clearly shows the amount withdrawn.. none of that apparently is proof enough... I had no choice other then to purchase this couch AGAIN, since the person with the trailer had arrived and was waiting. The manager swore I’d get my money back the next day.. 3 days later, and nothing. What kind of service is this? I contacted customer service and got a generic wait 3-5 days for the money to be returned, no apology or anything! Definitely not purchasing anything here again.
Cost Plus needs to work on their checkout process. I have never seen so many people take so long to buy so few items. Cashiers on the phone, directing people to samples when theyre already leaving the store, signing people up or dealing with coupons. The line barely moves. Their inventory might be unique but its frustrating to shop here.
I tried to use their “curbside pickup” which ended up being an absolute disaster. As a customer I am trying to do my part during this difficult time. I purchased my products online, received an email AND a text telling me my items were ready, but when I arrived at the store I was met with confusion and incompetence. After struggling for 15 minutes a man came out and asked for my order number (which I provided) and then was told I couldn’t pickup the items (3 wooden shelves) as my name wasn’t on the order despite the fact that my card had purchased the items (I possessed the email, the credit card used to purchase, and my ID). The solution provided to me was to cancel the order go into the store and rerun the order with the SAME card. Isn’t the whole point of curbside pickup to limit the amount of people inside the store at a given time? The excuse given for the ineptitude was “because of COVID”. I understand mistakes happen, but this has become an excuse for apathy and disorganization. I wish this business would either improve their logistics for curbside pickup or remove it altogether as it is a broken system.
I was fortunate enough to have grown up with all the European food and culture that Cost Plus has to offer. My mom being from Frankfurt and all. Used to travel to Frankfurt every summer as a child with my parents. This place is very reminiscent of those times. Always feel like a little kid again when I go here, even though I am 50 years of age. A great place to experience a small part of Germany without actually going there.
On the Corner of Alta Arden & Howe Ave. Across the street from Benz Dealership. Really great items, things that you may not expect to ever find, or maybe things you been wishing for. My opinion on prices, I think affordable, or should I say reasonable priced. But I can say, you want see most of their items at another store for sure. Friendly, helpful staff members. Saving...Yes with their Rewards Account use for every purchase. Free parking also handicap parking & entrance. No restrooms for Customers or to the Public. Check them out in store or online. You can also order online you can not order online and pick up in store like some other stores, & no returns without receipts or credit card if used at the time of purchase, store policy I was told damaged or something wrong with item please keep receipt or pay with card they can look up transactions to help you out. But nice store over all great things.
I used to love this company as I have had many relatives work here. The past couple of years is going downhill for the company. They are struggling to make it and jusy permantly laid off 100s of people who returned back to work in May with no notice. These people risked their health to work for a company during a pandemic and they do this? I am also aware that an associate who handles merchandise (truck stocker) is positive for covid in Stockton Ca and did not give proper information to my son or staff who handled the truck afterward. Very disappointing.
I found what I was looking for online and it prompted me to buy online and have it ready for pick up in store, which sounds great! When I arrived to pick up my, paid for in full, order...it took about 20 min to get an associate to grab it for me. Im sure casual shopping here is fun but the time I spent here was not.
I bought many Christmas gifts at Cost Plus yesterday and I had carry everything out because the cashier said I couldnt take the cart out. I bought a ton of stuff made of glass and she did not offer to help or call someone to help. I barely made it to the car. Never going back to that Cost Plus again.
Great, unique furniture, household and specialty foods like chocolates and coffees from all over the world. They have quite an interesting selection and the staff is super helpful, its not the cheapest place in town, but the sales are great and competitive for stylish, modern unique style.
I always find something that I want to buy in here. The staff has been pretty friendly the couple of times I have been here. It seems a little small than other locations and is a little awkward to get to if you miss turning in on Howe Avenue. But I would definitely recommend.

2022-06-06Horrible experience. Was given defected furniture. Had to borrow a truck to return. Was given replacement pieces which were a different finish and didnt match my original table. Was promised delivery for free for new set that was reordered. Was told I had to find a truck and pick up all pieces again. DO NOT BUY FURNITURE HERE. IKEA QUALITY. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

2021-12-28My guilty pleasure now Im a home owner. Come here to buy items to impress my dates with all things worldly. Love their food and wine section. I dig their decor but only walk by their furniture as it seems overpriced and flimsy but the food and wine definitely worth the trip.

2021-10-30I havent shopped at a Cost Plus in ages. I went in for Gummy Tacos which I found in a cute candy shop while on a beach get away awhile back! Not only was it cute it was delicious! I did an online search and Cost Plus carries them and like a $2 cheaper so I picked up a qty of 8, I know thats alot but I give my friends and family little gifts! I also picked up great other food items from around the globe While at the counter the cashier helped me apply for a discount and saved $50 dollars! Very happy about this shopping trip I gotta go back when I have more time. Some items are reasonable others are way to much in my opinion! Great experience today! Loved my cashier Gerry! So wonderful and kind!

2019-09-26I like this place, bought so many knickknacks over the years. Also my dining room table and chairs that are fantastic and a writing desk and shelving unit... not as high of a quality, but fairly priced so I guess I got what I paid for. Overall I am still a fan of Cost Plus!

2018-03-14Huge store with an amazing variety of quality products. A bit on the pricey side, but it is neat to walk around and see what they sell, even if just to look.
