We attended the Drag Queen Bingo nightIt was awesome!Lots of parkingClean bathroomsBig food court with american, Mediterranean, Mexican, Indian and Asian cuisine.Huge bar but was busy that night. Bartenders were friendly. They could not make a white russian.....no milkEverything else was great!
This food hall has a variety of food options from fried chicken, bbq, Vietnamese, Thai, a bar, coffee and sweets, etc. I tried the chicken place and the bbq place. Ordered some wings and sides at the chicken place and everything was good. The bbq place was just ok. Their chopped brisket had too much sauce and when they say chopped, its really chopped. Their yam with butter was very bland. Totally not worth the $6. Overall I would come here again and try out the other food stalls.
Fantastic choices and highly recommended. Tried 3 locations (family members couldnt make up their mind so we all had something different) . Thai food was great and highly recommended (forgot the name of the restaurant). Bomb burgers was fantastic! Pastrami fries were the best and the size of serving AWESOME! Pasta center towards the back was exceptional as well. Great place to check out and try new things.
This place is pretty cool they have lots of different kinds of food here with a really nice bar where you can sit and eat your food and have a drink there are also desserts to pick from I believe there is about 10 different kinds of food here we tried three different places it was very good
Stopped by Secret Sauce Wok and Grill. Asked for a recommendation between the Beef with Snow Peas or the Garlic Pepper Fish and was nudged towards the fish. Was given a beeper and within about 10m I got my order. They were short on water at the time I was there but they hand delivered it to me when they were able to get it from their back room stock. It was nice and cold which was great. They give a nice portion with the rice in the side. I ate half for dinner and the other half for lunch the next day.The fish was crispy and flavorful. Very nice seasoning even without the sauce and was great with rice. Looking forward to trying other things here.
Dont even think about going here on a Saturday night unless you have, or enjoy listening to the screeches of, small children. Fun for them, Im sure, but deafening. Actually left after walking around to see it. Gave it an okay rating because we didnt actually eat so it would be unfair to judge either way. I know there are some people who really like it.
What a great experience!! First time here and I wish we lived closer. So many options but it still runs so smooth! Everything was delicious and seemed so fresh. A bit pricey for the portions buy I am on vacation I had the money to spend. If this were an everyday local place for me it would be too much. Love having so many options to choose from and food came out relatively quickly. Because the options were not huge we were able to get a few things from each place and share. Absolutely delicious! Didnt have an issue with one plate!
What a great place. Lots of food options. Really well designed. Not quite finished yet so Id expect more great things to come. Ate at Notorious. The salad was huge easy enough for 2 or maybe even 3 people to share. Had a vegan slider which was also delicious. I thinknits definitely worth the visit.
Cacio was amazing. This review is for Cacio. I had one of the best chicken parms I have ever had. So good that my family stopped eating their meals from other shops to steal my food. We will be back. Definitely worth a stop and grab a bite. Italian soda was really good as well. We also had a couple drinks from the bar that did not disappoint.
My new favorite place. Several vendors under one roof with a few still to come. Great space with plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor). A few arcade style games (skeeball and basketball) for those who feel like playing. Some of the eateries have standalone locations in Convoy with full menus but this is a great alternative for those who don’t want to drive out of the way to get there.
If you have a minivan full of kids that need to burn energy while mom and/or dad need a breather from a road trip or a long day at Legoland, Costco, or soccer practice, then this may be the placenfor you. If you have aversions to dirty crowded places that are effectively a highway rest stop crossed with a Mall Food Court, then keep driving if you see this windmill from the highway. Better airflow, cleaner surfaces, and better customer service could earn this place more stars IMO. All a matter of perspective i guess. Avoid the Pho place inside this windmill. Worst food ever, tasted like they pulled it from a garbage can.
This place used to be a TGIF restaurant that wasnt doing too well but now they have changed it into a multi restaurant dining experience with lots of seating. A great place to grab some food for everyone and have a beer at the Windmill bar. Lots of outdoor seating and indoor seating with a quirky atmosphere. I think there is something for everyone here and worth your time to check out once all the restaurants get fully up and running
Great food choices. I had heard this was a food court, I wouldnt call it that. The options are more elevated. The interior is closed for dining currently but the outside is beautiful and well spaced. I will visit again. Oh and a full bar and they sanitize the glass before handing it to you!
Soft opening was interesting. Most stores are up and running but many are still on their way. There is ice cream, coffee, burgers, poke. Really a large gamut of offerings. They have arcade games scattered around the food hall and a large bar/seating area. Excited for this place to take off.
Great place to go with family and friends, there are food options almost for everyone. We tried the korean and thai food and was really good! Great flavor, good portions but on the pricey size if you consider that this is like a food court but nicer. For dessert we had rolled ice cream.
This place is cool. I had the lobster roll, a taco, and a poke roll. All the food I had was great. The group I was with had food from some of the other restaurants and they all had great things to say. Its a great option if you are looking for more than one flavor or if you have a group that has different tastes. Pretty cool building with group seating or small tables. It is a kid friendly restaurant so dont be afraid to bring the little ones with you.
Make room for the new places. I remember this spot as pea soup Anderson many moons ago. Now its a gathering spot for friends, family and four legged customers as well. The atmosphere is festive and friendly. I thought it was a nice assortment of eating options . Close to the ocean, the flower and strawberry fields and all that Carlsbad has to offer. They definitely get two thumbs up. Although there are plenty of options in the area thus one is laid back with no dress code to worry about. Flip flop friendly.
Food hall thats got a few Korean chains inside. Everything from poke, bibimbap, Korean fried chicken, Thai noodle, pho, taco to ice cream. Good choices since theres not a lot of Asian restaurants around. They do mark up the price a bit compare to the original store though, but flavor mostly tastes the same.
Neat little change of pace in Carlsbad! There is quite the selection of food, decent diversity with fried things, soups, and evem cocktails.Great date place or just hanging out with your friends. Im sure the shops will expand soon and theres talk of even having a wedding venue in the works
One day we were stuck in traffic and didn’t feel like crawling so we pulled into this gem. This food hall is really clean and vibrant. Lots of food options but we were craving tacos so we did. Tacos were excellent. The desert stand was delicious as well. Soft serve is def a must try.
Had a great time here with the family and some friends. Cool atmosphere, a nice mix of brewery/bar atmosphere and family friendly chaos. Lots of food options for everyone, we basically snacked on a bunch of appetizers from various vendors and called it dinner. Had a nice flow of craft beer and cocktails from the main bar. Was loud enough for the kids to let loose a little without annoying the other patrons. Cornhole, skee-ball, various games and lots of cool stuff to look at. Would definitely go back again. My honest review is more like a 4.5 stars as seating was limited and was difficult to get on a Saturday night, I had to hound a group as I saw them start to clean up and claim the table before it was actually available but hey, thats how it goes in this type of place. Kids enjoyed a great dessert after dinner as well.
We had the pleasure of visiting before COVID and enjoyed the arcade games throughout the hall. This is still a great rendition of this space for the whole community to enjoy. Lots of great food spots! We’ve enjoyed the bar drinks (going back for June Shine!), wings, thai and poke. We especially love the Clue Library vibe in the back!
4 Stars for now as this is their soft opening.Great addition to North County Carlsbad and love the restaurants that are now open.Had a glass of wine at the bar and made my way to Cross Street Chicken and The Fry Fix. Separate reviews will be done on the food.I love the concept that theres family tables and games. They also have GALAGA which is my favorite. I also liked the outdoor picnic tables.I ended my foodie adventure with rolled ice cream from Bing Haus.Definitely will return as often as I can.
I went to the windmill about a week after opening.... soft opening. It’s still not “ready” but it’s going to be great once all the eateries are open. It looks like plenty of vendors are up and running. I went to the bar area for a glass of wine in the afternoon. It was quiet, the space was very open, comfortable.. nice breeze. It’s a good place to go if you want an outdoor vibe with plenty of food options. I really like the place... will be back again...
Absolutely love Windmill’s integration of the After Dark events. Hosting music at this space has really given north county DJs and music producers an opportunity to shine. It’s such a roomy and spacious environment and the guests at the events are all friendly and welcoming. The staff is top notch and wonderful! Keep it up!
This place is fantastic! A food court like no other... wonderful atmosphere! There are a lot of great food options, a fantastic bartender, and a great patio. Ive only tried a couple of the food vendors, but definitely plan to go back for more. Highly recommend stopping by to anyone in the area.
Not my favorite by any means. Googled it and thought it would be a good place for everyone to be able to pick their style/taste. The music was really loud for that hour of the evening, I can see loud music later in the evening but it seemed early to have music blasting that loud, considering how calm and mellow the people were. The bar did pour some fairly strong drinks and the choices were many. The food was a little overpriced for what they offered at some. I went to order some Pho and the lady at the desk seemed completely uninterested in helping me, basically as if I was not there and zero acknowledgement, so I walked away. My daughter ordered a pizza as soon as we walked in so she offered to share that with me. My husband had wandered off to find something and came back with some fish tacos. Those fish tacos were amazing and VERY filling! All the ingredients were fresh and they were stuffed with a HUGE piece of fish! On our way out we grabbed some treats from the bakery and they were all delicious! I can’t say I would go back for anything again, but the experience was alright. Oh and the tables and sitting areas were kept extremely clean!
This review is for Secret Sauce Wok and Grill. The best General Tso in sandiego County. They have a creative array of crafty non alcoholic drinks with boba flavors you dont get anywhere else. For being a fast food joint they also have a very high quality well cooked rice that is moist and a perfect pairing to their dishes
Checked out the Windmill Food Hall on a Thursday and was shocked to see it packed. All of the food my group tried was good but the standouts were the plain fries from The Fry Place and the basic notorious slider which hands down wins for best value (it was excellent and like $3). Also enjoyed - Bing Hauss cookie monster soft serve but wished there were some sugar crystals cooked into the taiyaki which would have really elevated the dish.
Cultivated Greens @ Windmill Food Hall:I first visited Cultivated Greens at the Barrio Food Hub in Barrio Logan and was so impressed. I was sorry to hear they closed the location, and pleasantly surprised to learn that reopened at a new location in Carlsbad, at the Windmill Food Hall. This vegan food is sooo good! Vegan food has come a long way. I had a California burrito, fries and Buffalo Cauliflower wings. My food was crispy, fresh and rich in flavor!! I also had a peach monkey halal juice drink that was delish. Theres plenty of outdoor seating, a la turf green on wood tables a- plenty. The inside is decorated with comic book graphic art, with captions like boom!Such a fun spot and live the variety on this vegan menu. The food looks and tastes superb. Another food hall patron walked over to me and asked what I was eating because it looked so good! This also happened at the prior location. People are usually also surprised to hear its vegan, but this food speaks for itself!!Useful 4 Funny 3 Cool 3Share review
Lots of different kind of selection but definitely not as much as Anaheim Packing District. This place gets VERY HOT. Definitely need to crack up the AC a couple of notches especially if your going to leave windows open near the bar. I know its Carlsbad and its near the ocean but a couple of days out of the year it gets HOT so use the AC.Food I ordered from the Cross street chicken and bear.I ordered 2 types of chicken wings one lemon pepper and one spicy OGI thought they were both good. Good flavor and juicy chicken wings. The wings were big compared to your traditional winga you get at Buffalo Wild Wings or any other place.I will definitely be back to try the other food this place has to offer.
Food was very good. We had the BBQ and I’d definitely order it again. There is a good variety of food to choose from. Even a bar where you can order beer or a cocktail. Ice cream and coffee available too. Prices are a little on the pricy side though. There is seating indoor and outdoor. I would go back and try something different.
Great variety and plentiful servings. Chicken sandwich was excellent, brioche bun good and pickles but check your sandwich before you bite down! My hubby got a jalapeno on accident! Omg! Potstickers were hot, excellent shared dish. Gouda balls were good, better at Hunter Steakhouse but Yummy! Steak frites were good, a bit soggy for my liking. Everything we ordered can be shared, enough for 2!
Splendid live entertainment (on this Tuesday night) was delightful surprise!Delicious meals for take away and in dining!7pm there were two outstanding singers: great guitar (act 1) and keyboard (act 2)Enjoyed Thai and Mediterranean food;Going back to Food Hall to sample each cuisine offered!Ever Virgin Most Powerful Mother of God Mary under the title of Our Lady of Good Success triumph and reign!Ave Maria;
Awesome spot. Lots of variety and tons of options. Lots of parking, and the area is beautiful. Had Dim Sum at Secret Sauce, food came out quick and was delicious. Also had a cold brew and a cappuccino from the little coffee place there. Both were fantastic. Finished with a Paleta (basically a popsicle of sorts). All was fantastic. Will def be coming back. Totally an awesome place for a date or a day out with friends. Prices arent too bad either.
Great atmosphere, open to the outside to let a nice breeze through. The food choices are excellent and cover PRETTY MUCH all of the food genres. My wife went with the Thai and got some pho. I tried hers and can vouch that the pho tasted fresh and flavorful. I personally went with Mexican food, and El Puerto street tacos definitely delivers. Their California burrito was top notch and one of the better ones Ive tried in all of north county! Everything was fresh and flavorful, the meat was perfectly cooked and the French fries were crispy and delicious. I recommend hitting up the central bar for any drinks, as they have a solid selection of beers on tap and soda refills are free, which is not the case at the individual vendors. Definitely recommend trying this place out. It has something for everyone.
Such a fun space with a lot of great food. We ordered from the pho restaurant, the coffee shop, and the bbq restaurant, and everything was so good! Cant wait to go back and try more. I was also impressed that so many of the places had vegetarian options -- even the bbq place and the fried chicken place had stuff to order that wasnt just a boring side. I loved it!
Amazing place. Found it kind of by accident. Basically like an upscale food court at a mall. So many different choices and so many different types of food. Can find food for anybody. Kind of kitchy cool style where all the tables and chairs are different. You can sit outside on the patio or inside. Highly recommend it.
Ive eaten at Thai Style and Secret Sauce. The yellow curry at Thai style was good. I loved that they left left the chick on the bone. Secret sauce I had sesame honey chicken. Sauce is different than you will find at most restaurants like Secret Sauce, in a good way. Will be back to both.
I very seldom give a 1 star review, but have had 2 opportunities in 2 days to do so. We went out of our way to come see this place. (30 miles) Sat at the bar to get a beer(s) . Sat, sat, sat some more. Got up, went down the bar, sat, sat. Ignored again. 3 bar servers, 2 of us. Beers run about $8 each. 4 X $8 is $32 in lost revenue. Got up and left. Business must be too good I guess. I have seen this a fair amount here in S CA. Will not go back and Do NOT reccomend this location (bar only) to others.
Some of the best food and the BBQ place so good wish I tried there before we went to the chart house. If you go to the bar, the Bartender Ashley is awesome. She makes an excellent Bartender both me and my gf went there several nights and were happy to see her working thats how much of a great Bartender she is... Nothing wrong with any of the other bartenders Ian was great as well. The poke there was great. The cluck burger wasnt bad either..A.must go to for sure.
Whats not to love? Open seating, a wide selection of eatery choices, a full bar, patio seating, live music.... Why are you still resting and not heading there already??Whether its a day shopping at the outlets, a day at the beach, or just meeting friends for some cold brews good eats and live music, This Is The Place..... Come as you are, bring th kids and the dogs... Just dont miss out!!
We love the windmill, such a great atmosphere and layout that is hard to find in north county. Basically north county’s only diverse and quality indoor dining hall. Some of our favorites are the tequila chicken from Cacio (amazing!), chicken vermicelli bowls from Pho district, and the hummus from Mediterranean house. Honestly, each spot has something great.
Mediterranean House. Wow. Yum.The beef was juicy, the falafel was perfect texture, the hummus was delicious and different than any other I had. The rice?? How do you make such good rice?? I dunno what it is, it was buttery but wasn’t butter (not 100% sure)Great job, Mediterranean House!
We went to The Poke Stand. The area where this eatery is at is all the way in the back to the right. The menu looked fantastic. What to try? Well I thought lets just order everything I want to try and well split it with my friend. So we ordered the shrimp tempura, wontons, krunchy little burrito and poke nachos. Our favorite? The krunchy little burrito, but by the way it is not little!! We each ate half and it was plenty and so tasty and delicious, fresh! Next favorite was the shrimp tempura, then wontons. Now about the poke nachos. Let me say it was very good, but I didnt think sharing was a great idea. So, order the nachos just for yourself!! And the service was fantastic! The atmosphere that day was very much like the old days, people around, ordering from different food vendors, the bar, the sitting outside and the best part was they had a live mariachi band playing and singing. So nice to get out and enjoy life again!
Really cool spot with many new food, drink and dessert options available. Very social and upbeat atmosphere and plenty of seating and space to walk around and hang out with groups. We got the hand made rolled ice cream cups which was delicious and a really cool and fun concept. You can see them make it in the window right after ordering.
This is a great place to visit if you are visiting Carlsbad. It is more on the expensive side, but there is lots of different kinds of good food. Great for a family who has lots of different needs for each person and still wants to eat together.. Additionally, they have trivia nights and a nice bar to sit at. The place feels very comfortable and homey. They are still working on part of building and I am excited to see what else the Windmill Food Hall has to offer.
Not enough seating. Its cold right now so sitting outside isnt very fun. They had heat lamps but most ran out of propane. Food is good. Pre covid was an awesome place to bring kids..had lots or games and things to distract kids..but now its boring, cold and lacks seating space.
A work in progress with many of the food options not open yet or fully. A great space that can get crowded and loud very quickly. The central bar with indoor/outdoor seating is a great design as a drink is always within reach.Lots of fun entertainment options make this a good place to bring the kids or have a night out with friends.
A hidden gem in Carlsbad. So many delicious reaturants under one roof. Ive come here countless times over the past year and a half since they first opened. Great seating and vibe. Some people even bring their dogs to the patio. Ive tried almost all of the restaurants and my favorite items so far as the carnitas/al pastor tacos, the basil/tomato/garlic pizza, the boba teas, chocobanana paleta, and the hot chick chicken sandwich.
This is a pretty neat place. Its like a food court in a mall with a full bar as well. All of the food vendors are kinda upscale. You wont find a McDonalds or Taco Bell at this food court. Some of your options are lobster, Thai food and sushi burritos to name a few. It isnt really a good place for a quiet romantic getaway as it is pretty loud, but it is definitely worth checking out.
The food choices are outstanding and the bar has a fine selection. Ive come back several times for lunches and dinners and Im always satisfied. I like how they use beepers to tell you when your food is ready so you can go find a seat after ordering. Sometimes I sit inside and sometimes outside. Seating is not ideal, there are not enough seats sometimes, and the food hall can get quite loud. I like sitting in the very back area called The Library. Its the quietest.
This was a nice surprise. Lots of very different choices. 5 of us visited. We all got different meals: poke, chicken tenders, wings, tots, fries and the pizza oven sandwich. We were all happy with our meals. They have indoor and Outdoor seating, and all different types of seating. We are looking forward to go back and try something else.
Really awesome place. We went there two nights in a row. Lots of food variety from Mexican (excellent tacos where they are $2 on Tuesdays and $3 regularly), Thai Food (tried 4 dishes and all excellent), Salad place (really good salad), Grilled cheese (really good), and ice cream. There are some basketball games ($1 to play), skeetball, and arcade. Great for kids and family and just anybody who loves a variety of foods. There are a few other joints to try: Korean, Wings, Fried foods, and Poke Bowls but didnt get a chance to. Will save for next time.
Ate at the BBQ place on the food court. For the price they charged I was expecting a Phils quality meal. Boy, was I disappointed. I ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich with coleslaw. The slaw was so old and wilted I couldnt believe they served it. The BBQ chicken sandwich had almost no BBQ sauce on it, but aside from that was just okay. Definitely not going back.
My hubby and I tried 2 restaurants in the hall today and both were below average. Any drive thru fast food restaurant would have been better. Only can or bottled drinks were available and no self-service drinks or ice.The decor is cheesy and not inviting. The general appearance is shabby. The best thing were the clean bathrooms.
Really cool hang out place, inside and out. Good food, slightly more expensive but you pay a little more for the good atmosphere and environment. Lots of great food, drinks and dessert options. We thought parking would be horrible at 6pm on Saturday but didnt have a problem at all!
Wide variety of local vendors offering many cuisine options. Mostly a place for omnivores, but vegans can find a couple things to eat. Prices are pretty high for the fare, and there is a full service bar for thirsty guests. The building was an Andersens originally, and the Danish style architecture is a little odd for a trendy food hall (lets just agree this is a food court and be fine with it) with expensive cocktails and yoga classes on Sunday.
There is not enough seating to handle the volume of people during busy hours. The restaurants Ive tried are overpriced for what is really just mediocre food. The grilled cheese restaurant was especially disappointing. You pay nearly $10 for the privilege of eating an oily, flavorless mess. There is definitely a contingent of parents who come to drink and let their children run wild. Not worth it.
This place just opened...and I just tried the lobster roll place...so it would not be fair to give them nothing but an average rating...but it does offer promise with lots of options...,and ample seating (indoor and out) and close parking. With regard to the Lobster Roll shop...the sales people were a bit pushy on trying to upgrade my order...which I did to see what I would receive...it wasnt worth the extra $6 bucks. The roll itself was tasty, but the lobster was kind of lacking favor...and was still cold from having been frozen. I noticed that the sizes of paper bowls they displayed were kind of small portions compared to more expensive up scale restaurants that offer and serve lobster bisque to their customers at their table... I did not try it...but I again thought the pricing was high for a food court item..lobster or not. As I said..Ill try again...but some of the other type of food offering...perhaps one with Asian cuisine.
There are so many different options. I typically get some truffle 🍟 and shrimp fried rice. They have games for the kids (heck, and adults), plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. You can bring your dog as long as you sit out on the patio. I love this food hall!
My wife and I visited today for their soft launch and we were quite excited. Theres something for pretty much every pallette here. We really enjoyed Cross Streets lemon pepper chicken and Bings ice cream in a fish-shaped waffle cone. Overall, the place has a great aesthetic and is the perfect spot for a date, a meal out with the kids, or a work lunch break. Be sure to check it out.
Made the drive to support our favorites: Friends house, Bing haus, and cross street. All good. Also got lobster roll, soups, grilled cheese. Really salty, could be just our taste. Decor is fun and nice. Seating was a bit limited, but it was a busy night too. Met expectations, didnt exceed.
We came to the Windmill on a Tuesday night and we had 5 in our party. We all are at different places.1. Had a Mediterranean dish. Cant go wrong with that. She loved it. She had Thai tea. That was very good.2. Ate beef broccoli from Secret Sauce Wok and said it was really good. He had a strawberry mango (I think) drink that was supposedly great.3. Ate from the Mexican food place. She got loaded nachos and said they were so good! She also had the strawberry drink and loved it.4. Had a Banh mi and fries. The sandwich was meh. Not a lot of pickled veggies, and it didnt taste like the tofu was marinated. The french fries....those were perfection. Crispy! He just had a can of Coke.5. I had a vegan bbq sandwich with choice of side. The Mac n cheese had very little cheese flavor. Really, it tasted like cooked noodles while someone whispered cheese next to the pot. The bbq was ok. Nothing to write home about. Little dry. I will not be spending $13 or whatever for that burger. I too had the yummy Thai tea!Theres a bar that was popular and seemed to have comfy chairs. Theres also a patio with fake grass and corn hole.Seating might become an issue. There is a cute little library in the back and a bigger area with tables squished together. Perhaps thats there for big parties? They even have little picnic tables for kids.Go check it out. Its a good place to go when you know everyone in your party eats something different. If its busy, beware of a busy parking lot.
This is a rather new food choice, close to the outlet mall, the Flower Fields,, and LegoLand. This is a conglomeration of little food stalls, and while some of them have other local locations, none of them are big national chains. Choices range from grilled cheese sandwiches to lobster to Korean food, with more restaurants coming soon, so you have a lot of choices That said, this is not cheap eats. I mean $9 for a grilled cheese sandwich?? I had a hamburger slider from Notorious Burger, and it was pretty good, and this small burger came with a small price.
Went on a week day during lunch . It was Crowded , loud and no seating. Pictures online make this place look huge but it’s not . It’s a Nice concept , with lots of food choices . Mexican was the best. Had homemade corn tortillas ill Have to wait to see how steak restaurant is that’s being built inside windmill.
Swung by for the soft opening with the family and loved the vibe. Awesome outdoor play space for kiddos with a very adult bar adjacent to it. Really good food options as well, although not everything was open quite yet, what they did have was top notch. Would definitely recommend stopping in and checking it out
Awesome new place, lots of choices! From sushi burritos to thai food, vegan tacos, hot dogs, fries, waffles, sliders, chicken wings, salads, soups, pizza coming soon! Very cool bar in middle of it all with comfy retro green bar chairs. Lots of good beer on tap. Outdoor area great for kids, dogs, playing cornhole or giant jenga. Come check this place out!
Id been waiting what seems like forever for this place to open. Finally made it here and it didnt disappoint! I had the Dolsot Bibimbop at Friends House. Yummy! Im so excited to have good Korean food in North County! Fun games to play for the family and other good looking food options. Will definitely be back to try more!
There are some good places in here, but this idea is dated now. They should have done this 10 years ago here. The bar has some good selections but its location as the center point of the food hall, and the fact its pet friendly, leads to parents drinking and letting their kids just run free in the outside seating area.
I’m happy that this communal place finally opened and that there is a variety of options especially for Asian food which is a scarcity in North County. This casual spot is great for gathering and letting the kids have some roaming space but the prices are on the higher side so not really practical for a big family or for frequent dining. Also portions are not very big but this is typical in hipster food courts like Liberty Station and the new one in Little Italy. The Brazilian coffee was good, the Bibimbap also but there wasn’t enough meat to justify a $15 bowl. The rolled tacos at the Mexican spot were a little disappointing and lacking basic things like lettuce and salsa. In SD there are so many Mexican joints thus setting the bar realy high so they need to up their game. The Cross street wings were good but prices are slightly higher than their Convoy location. I thought that the Poke place was tasty and I am looking forward to trying the Bing Haus black sesame softserve.
What an awesome place to stop. Your only problem is going to be on what restaurant to pick. They have so many different types of food and options available. From lobster to curry to poke to fries. Unless you are the worlds pickiest eater and a jerk you will find something to eat here.
If youve got excited kids on vacation or a team of them after a game, this budget D&B is for you. There are coin-op games, enough food variety to please everyone (dont judge the quality too harshly), and a bar for you when the din becomes too much. The patio is quieter, but the kids are still on overdrive. We had the crab roll, which was kinda blah, needing something to sauce it up, although the baked beans were ok, yet oddly familiar, and the slaw was tasty and with a good amount of crunch to carry it. To be fair, Id like to try out more choices, but dont think its worth suffering the ambience. Other nites might be different. Your tolerance may vary.
If you love to have different kind of food but doesnt want to go to several places, you should come here. They have hawaiian, korean, mexican, thai, american food in one place. Friday night and Saturday are the most packed time. Love music almost every night. Unique sitting areas.
Meh, it is OK. A variety of small Mom and Pop restaurants with shared seating and one common bar. Wait in line to order your food and then in another to get your drinks. Napkins seem to be short supply. Glorified food court but it is OK. Will probably give it another try.

2022-03-22I enjoyed myself checking out the different eateries. There is definitely a mix of cuisines and a full bar. They have outdoor seating and plenty of indoor space.I did expect there to be a bit more places to choose from other than the dozen or so current eateries.Plenty of parking, easy access to the freeway

2022-02-19We pulled up with a group of 7 - each of which had their own unique food tastes - and we all left happy and full. Sushi Burritos, Tacos, Pizza, Quesadillas, anything your hungry heart desires. The only downside was that they dont offer fountain drinks, which should honestly be a staple of any great food establishment. All in all, it was a fun time!

2022-07-09Cool place to go when you want to try or have more than one type of food. Was not to busy and everyone seemed nice. Food was good and was so hungry forgot to take a picture of the food.

2021-09-12Windmill Food Hall has 14 creative, independent fast serve restaurants to choose from with a big, attractive bar serving alcoholic drinks, and gourmet coffee shop. Once a big Van de Kamp restaurant, it has been completely remodeled into a fun, contemporary, casual dining mall for kids and people of all ages. Spaces within have been styled into zones with different atmospheres. Indoor and outdoor tables and picnic benches are available for dining in. Most restaurants have carry out as well. ... A great place with something to please almost anyone!

2021-12-17We love this place. Great vibe and the food is pretty good too. We got the chicken and pho, chicken was amazing and big portion, pho was good too. Would recommend as a stop when you drive between LA and San Diego

2022-03-20I do like the very large selection of vendors they have at the food hall. And both the indoor and outdoor seating areas are really cozy and comfortable.

2022-07-05We were in the Legoland area and came across this gem. Of course we love a good food hall. A little smaller than the likes of Liberty Public Market in San Diego and Anaheim Packing District in Anaheim Ca. Lots of parking, lots of options for picky eaters. The weather was great and the food options were plenty. There was a notice that pets are welcome on the patio. There is also a cute arcade area. Definitely something for everyone in the family. Spealty food, drinks, bar, and desserts available.

2022-07-08What an awesome place! The ambience is relaxed, but modern. We had burgers at Bang Burgers. I might have the name wrong, but you can’t miss it with its eye-catching comic strip decor. The burgers were satisfying with fried onions, great sauces and quality cheese. The fries were dangerously good. Top it off with very friendly and helpful service. The bar is nicely stocked as well.Must stop and check it out!
