Unclean. My puppy found lots of old food under the bed and I took a peek and found a rusty pullout bed, thought that was gross and looked past it and went into the bathroom, the floors were sticky, the bathtub was chipped and had hair in it, there was no drain plug, not to mention how much hair was in the drain, and the water was tinted yellow. Our trash also had not been emptied from the people here before us. There were loose screws in the ceiling and parts of the wall trimming were coming off as well as the bathroom window and the bathroom screen. And yes, they were dirty. The mirror on the closet was broken and really I just feel dirty after knowing what I’ve been around in here. It’s my anniversary with my fiancé, 10:30 at night on December 22nd and we are currently looking for another hotel to get into but everything else is booked. Unfortunately we are probably going to have to stick it out and sleep here as it’s too cold out to sleep in the car. I apologize for anyone that gets a room here and doesn’t read all the terrible reviews.
I liked the design of the room, I just wished it was cleaner.Liked · The man at the front office was very nice. I liked the swings that they had and I liked the old radio in the room. The bed was clean. No bedbugs. Amazing sunset view at the balcony. We stayed in a suite on the second floor and heard coyotes making noises at night which was an amazing experience. Stayed with my fiancé and her niece, it felt like we were one with nature.Disliked · CAUTION: IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BUGS, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The cleanest part of the room was the bed, we wiped down everything with Lysol wipes. The bathroom was dirty and full of ants. The sink was full of ants. The balcony had ants. When falling asleep I kept getting beetles and bugs flying on my phone. There was a spider on the curtain leading towards the balcony. The toilet was dirty, it had a used cotton swab still floating and it would not go down with all the flushes. For the price we paid almost $300 just for 1 night, I wouldnt mind staying here for less than $100 a night.
Checked in to find old carpet, grey towels and ants on bathroom floor. Called front desk, was going to be awhile to come over. She sprayed, killing most of them, and when she took plastic bag out of wastebasket, there were hundreds more on the bottom. She insinuating that I must have left the door opened. Said there were no other rooms available, and my grandson was uncomfortable staying, we packed up (9pm) and luckily was able to find another hotel. I have been trying for 5 days now to get my money back. Mgr was supposed to call back. Hasnt happened...If in the area looking for a hotel, the Comfort Inn was quite nice.
Like many other reviews have said, the room was not clean. There was hair all over the bathroom floor, the mirrors were dirty, and there was some kind of sauce left on the table and in the microwave. It didn’t seem like the room had been cleaned before our arrival which is concerning given Covid and frustrating because it isn’t that hard to vacuum and wipe surfaces. Also breakfast was falsely advertised. Would not recommend.
The pros: Super hot water. Location is ideal for visiting Sequoia national park and was a great location. Cons: The bed was as hard as a rock and broken. Guest services didnt mention Sequoia National Park was closed. Room was not thoroughly cleaned; hair and dust on the floor, bathroom floor sticky. No towels. Not very many TV channels. No breakfast available because of COVID.
At first glance, this was a nice place to stay, bed is nice and room looks clean, but after staying for a few hours, discovered lots ants and spiders all crawling the in bathroom (pictures and videos included). Also- price given to me online was $329.98/ price when I actually paid was $362.98. Didn’t realize it until after I already left and couldn’t do anything about it…
Great location. Close enough to Sequoia and Three Rivers is a cute place.Fantastic view of the mountains right from the window of the room.Room was very spacious and included a couch, table and chairs, tv, microwave, and fridge.Motel also includes a swimming pool which we didnt have the chance to try out but I would highly recommend going for a swim in Slick Rock Recreation Area down the road.
Firstly. No breakfast. Don’t fall for their false advertising. One year after pandemic has started you would think to update signs and messages. But no. When you call the message says free breakfast and there is a big sign outside their door also saying free breakfast. When you book your room it says free breakfast. But at the end Nothing but a lady at the front desk giving you attitude as if I’m lying or from a different planet.Very rude lady at the front. No greeting no hi or by. No small talk. Full of attitude. Zero stars for her. Also no hot water. Simple basic necessity. Not available. Shower starts off hot. Then surprises you with freezing cold water. All three kids cried during their cold shower.I think this place could use some updated rules and regulations on how to interact with customers. Such as “hello, How are you, thank you have a nice day”. Simple words that make a big difference. Two stars only because the front desk gentleman was nice kind and respectful. Coffee machine was not working and was replaced promptly. Two stars just for that.
I would not go here again. Firstly, it was horribly overpriced. The standard was low, and we were charged $250 for one night in a dirty room. A local barman told me their regular price is $60 but that they bump it up during high season. We booked for four people but came to a room that was made up for two. The room was not clean - there was DUST in the corners and STAINS on the bedside table. The bathroom smelled of VOMIT and the SHOWER was NOT WORKING. The sink was partially CLOGGED. All in all a most dissatisfying stay.
Positive: Nothing. Negative: This hotel was way too overpriced. Quality is close to a $-- motel but they charge 3-4 times that. Only one bathroom light was working, clogged sink with a dripping faucet, filthy chairs and blankets, an old towel was not removed, pool with murky wat
Dirty mess...dead spiders in every corner, shower was left as las client left it, soap stains in handle. Huge Spiders and webs, crazy!Asked for different room, they said no other. Maid service went home at 3pm. So they send a guy, with knee pads, guess it was maintenance man. Cleaned shower and I helped do floors. Hey! I just wanted to lay down after a looking trip. 100 degrees outside. At $130.00 a night. Not worth it!🤪
This hotel is infested with bedbugs. We stay there for 4 nights. After the first night we observed bug bites on our body but we didnt know that it is. Then on the third night we caught several bed bugs. When we confronted the front desk and showed them the caught bug, they changed another room for the 4th night. However I still get bites. After we returned home, my wife developed allergy to the bites and had to seek help form doctor. I emailed the management and ask them to investigate and seek refund. Although we showed them the bug they came back saying no bugs and they rented to other guests and they did not complain. I am attaching pictures for people to see the bugs I caught and how bad the bites are.
Price way too high for the quality of the room: carpet, sink, counter, table, stands, headboard, mini refrigerator, etc were all really filthy. Sink wouldnt drain, toilet kept running, and tub that was clean wouldnt stop draining out. The owners/managers should be ashamed to have a hotel room so disgustingly dirty and in poor condition, especially during these times. Just because you have a great area for a lodge shouldnt mean you take advantage of people and dont keep your rooms clean and repaired. If you are going to charge these prices then have the quality with it.
Family Summer trip…arrived at 8:30pmThe room A/C was not working, I killed 4 spiders around the ceiling before we went to bed at 9:30pm, had maintenance come in after waiting for them for +40mins. Same night 10:30pm got in the shower and 2 roaches came out of the drain.Next morning we woke up to our entire Yeti cooler covered in ants along with my wife’s make-up bag and kids bag. Sink and toothbrushes were swarmed with ants also. After cleaning up and killing every ant I smashed a decent sized spider right before it got on the bed. Couldn’t get a refund for that horrible night. Don’t book here. Find a better lodge.
One patron behind me checking in, asked me if I had stayed here before, which I told her I haven’t. She said room was a mess, sheets soiled, and requesting her $ back. I got our keys, checked our room, no plastic liners in garbage cans, no bath soap, and same dirty sheets once we pulled comforter back! Immediately put our bags back in car, returned keys, for a no problem, getting refund. Decided to stay 30 miles South at the Wyndham Hotel in Visalia, only costing $25.00 more. 1st class accommodations, with full hot breakfast in the morning. 5 star restaurant, bar, pool, and hot tub. Felt bad, as it was not the clerks fault, but knew before we left WHL, 3 other families had same problem, requesting refunds. Especially w/Covid-19, dirtysheets, and lack of cleaning, we did notfeel safe. I rarely write negative reviews, but this one really needed to be written.
Gross and dirty is an understatement. If I was able to upload pictures, they would describe it. Slept in my clothes on top of the sheets for fear of catching something. Didn’t shower because the shower already had hair in it and the shower head looked moldy. The toilet was rust stained. The toiletries were already used. There was a chair with a huge stain as of someone pooped themselves in it. The smell of the room was musty. The County Health Department should come visit. Don’t stay here.
This place was a spider infested, black mold growing, mildew trap with a awful air conditioning…. Beware! The employees were nice but the facilities were more than terrible. The AC kept the room a balmy 83 degrees each night which was, apparently a perfect breeding ground for giant spiders and black mold… when we tried to call the front desk we found that our phone was broken and that the cord had been ripped from the back of the phone… stay there at your own risk
This place is about 15-20 mins away from the sequoia entrance. It is an old building so you will hear your neighbors. The bed is decently comfortable, looks like they actually wash the blanket as most hotels don’t, shower pressure is low. We had a loud crew above us and the hotel was great in accommodating and letting us switch rooms. They have a microwave and fridge and the other great thing is that there is an extra sink in the room which is helpful if you are bringing food with you. It is located next to a small plaza with a few food options. Not a lot of options for vegetarians or vegans in the town in general. The staff is also very friendly.
Power was out when we first arrived .Was told they couldnt provide us with room keys due to power being out.Came back a few hours later and the power was still out. They were able to provide us with the rooms even though there was no power. My son and wife had an updated room which had a broken bed. No water pressure,no hot water and had to fill the toilet with water everytime they needed to flush. My youngest son and I had the older room.I took a shower using cold water. Dead roach in my towel.spoder webbs in the bathroom along with dead roaches in the corners of the bathroom.2 day we had no water at all.for a few hours. The bedding was dirty when we arrived. Asked for clean bedding and was told no clean bedding until the following day .I slept with no blankets. Thank God I brought my son a blanket from.home.Pool was dirty, hot tub doesnt work and no free breakfast even though its advertised. The cleaning crew was nice the lady in front office is very rude and should not work in public.Stay elewhere!!!
In all honesty, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The rooms smell gross, the carpet is either really old or dirty, and the room was not the cleanest. It does have some positives like the pool, decent breakfast, and the location being close to a lot of restaurants and stores. The breakfast included toast, cereal, waffles, coffee, instant oatmeal, boiled eggs, muffins, milk and orange juice. The pool was pretty decent; it goes from 3ft to 9ft deep and also has a tiny jacuzzi. They have a pretty cool playground outside but it’s so hot I don’t think anyone used it. They also have horse shoes to play with which was interesting. There were mostly new furnishings with the exception of two old looking couches. The room included AC, one decent TV, one really old TV, coffee maker, a mini fridge with a mini freezer, a microwave, a desk, an outside porch, one king size bed, and one large sofa bed. The bathroom was decent with a quality shower head, but not the cleanest (it wasn’t disgusting but wasn’t amazingly clean either). They provided eco friendly shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap. It has potential to be a great hotel but it truly just needs high quality maintenance.
Check in wasnt much of a wait, but the rooms were dirty, hair all over the bathroom and tub, and lots of hair in the bed sheets IN EVERY LAYER OF SHEETS. I would not stay here if youre looking for clean rooms. The price is expensive (160.00) and is more like a 70.00 room.
High price and the poorest service ever. Dirty room with bed bugs. The room and the bathroom smelled awful. Noises are coming from the walls when another room uses the shower at night. They also do not control the hours people can walk in front of the rooms so people are as loud as they want even if its one in the morning. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!
We stayed over the Veterans Holiday weekend, family of 2 adults, 2 kids. We had wonderful time. The river is in their backyard practically, the price was excellent. Our room was clean, the temparture of the shower was perfect. The kids enjoyed the basketball court, horseshoe, playground and spa/pool. The breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect. We were very sceptical since reading the previous reviews. They were updating rooms as we were there so they are responding to previous complaints. We had no complaints and would recommend this lodge to family and friends. Also our family is hoping to come back soon!
I think it needs to be acknowledged that not enough hotels offer playgrounds these days. The Western Holiday Lodge of Three Rivers does not disappoint in this area of hospitality - in fact, it exceeds expectations! Not only do they provide the obligatory jungle gym and basketball court (they also provide the basketball), but also expertly hung swings at just the right height for all ages, A TETHERBALL I KID YOU NOT, and a horseshoe pitch! If we hadn’t just received our first vaccine doses (and had the unfortunate timing of starting to work out again the day before - I can’t even describe the pain of trying to use arms that just that morning hefted two wine bottles overhead while doing squats 5 sets and 25 reps my friend) we would have been all over that athletic smorgasbord I tell you.You know what else you don’t often see at hotels anymore? Vegetable gardens. At the edge of the flower beds the management are growing a vegetable garden near the parking lot. I was able to identify corn and squash thanks to a failed gardening attempt at the beginning of the pandemic when everyone thought we were going to have to start growing our own food. Which still may turn out to be true. So I guess it’s good so many of us got some practice. My raspberry bush just made a comeback so I do think I may have learned something. Or California sun is just really good for growing. The world may never know.
Very old and dirty bed sheets and uncomfortable bed. Towels were very rough like sand paper. Lack of amenities. Poor air conditioning with a newborn in the room. Bugs the size of golf ball on the ceiling. Pools are not hygiene and full of bugs. Dirty and smelly rooms.
This hotel has bed bugs. When I informed the front desk their response was just we dont have bed bugs. When I tried to get a refund, the hotel refused on the basis that I had requested a room upgrade. I had just asked to be moved out of the room I saw a bed bug in (it ran across the bed. There were also little spots at the bottom of the sheets which is common evidence of an infestation), I never asked for any kind of upgrade and they know it. Terrible customer service, unaccountable. Beware.
This is a good place to stay if all the other hotels are booked. Things are functional but thats it. When we arrived our room The shower was not clean, there was leftover food in the microwave, very poor attention to detail. I think the owners have been neglected or just do not have the cash to keep the facility up to a reasonable standard. Additionally our shower would not drain. There was hair in the bed. Theres only Wi-Fi at the front office. We spent $200 for a room that was in worse condition than a $50 motel 6.
I highly do not recommend staying at this place unless you are desperate for a place to stay, the rooms are dirty, when I turned on the water to the shower for half a minute the water came out yellow! We also did a wipe down because of Covid and the rag ended up gray after we finished. The locks don’t work that well to the door or the windows. the only upside to this place is the play group they have for families
Positive: Absolutely nothing. Negative: The entire property was very run down and our room was FILTHY. Crumbs on the floor, bugs in the bathroom, broken closet doors, etc., but the worst was when I pulled back the bottom sheet was ALL THE HAIR & STAINS. I asked for my money back. We didnt stay
This hotel is a decent place to stay, but the decor can be improved. Puke green curtains and yellow walls were not very appealing. Bathtub was cracked and fixed up, but it shows. However, the water was instantly hot when you turn on the faucet, and the heater instantly heated the room. It was a comfortable stay, but not for the price that we paid.
Western Holiday Lodge Three Rivers was the worst customer service experience of my life. The staff are not only deceptive and uncleanly, but also undermining national ADA law.My fiance is paraplegic and uses a wheelchair, so I booked an accessible room with a wheelchair accessible bathroom on Expedia. Immediately after booking, I called the hotel to confirm the ADA room. I spoke with the manager (I believe his name is Jay). He told me the room was accessible and that we would have access to a handicap parking spot as well. Long story short, the room was not accessible and my fiance could not even fit in the bathroom door. They wanted an extra $450 for an ADA room, which is illegal. We called the local Sheriff to witness the exchange. The lady at the desk (Maria) would not budge, even after the officer asked her to compromise. She promised that my fiance could use the bathroom in the front office and to give a full refund of the next two nights with no fees after we found an ADA room at the Comfort Inn instead for 2 of 3 nights. The next day, we were eager to check out, however, Expedia was not able to get anyone on the phone to process the refund. Those CROOKS turned their phones straight to voicemail to avoid giving us the refund they promised. I went to the office with Expedia on hold as they pretended to fiddle with their phones to fix them. I would not leave, so they finally answered the phone and told Expedia we could have the refund. It was absolutely disgusting to witness. In addition to being lied to, asked to pay more money for being disabled, and nearly cheated, the hotel was disgusting and in terrible condition. Our room had giant black widow spiders outside the door, more webs in the room on the ceiling, and ants in the bathroom. The toilets have such low water pressure, they have signs asking guests to not flush toilet paper and use the wastebasket instead. The mini-fridge had stains from previous guests, the walls were scuffed and dirty, and the floors were warped with water damage. There are only 4 channels of static analog TV and the wifi is extremely slow. They have an accessible lift to get into the pool, but stairs leading to the pool area. The front office has stacks of disorganized boxes and papers. It was a mess, and the staff did not wear masks. Please, do yourself a favor and stay at the Comfort Inn or any other quality hotel in the area.
This hotel was good. Its right outside the National Park in a quaint town with Diners and gift shops. The location was definitely the best part. The room itself was nice enough. Not the worst place Ive ever stayed. The only thing that annoyed me was the front desk kept calling us over random stuff. One night there were a couple kids running around being loud. The desk called and asked us if we could get them to quiet down. They werent ours. I think they thought so because we asked for a crib (which cost extra). Our infant was definitely not making that noise.
Stayed one night and it was decent enough for one night but far from special. The rooms were large but very old fashioned. The bathroom was acceptable but old. The shower was weak. The view to the river was nice and the balcony was a decent size but it was too cold to enjoy the night we were there. The breakfast room is very small and very packed and the food was pretty much what you have at all motels - we preferred to get coffee and breakfast at a coffee shop down the road.
Our room was big and newly remodel. It was room 64. It had a fridge and a big counter with a sink. They said it was more expensive because of the view. The view was a bunch of rocks and dry grass. But the room was big and clean. My friend got a regular room, I think 14 anything lower than room 50 is old and it smells kind of bad. They offer free continental breakfast which includes bagels, hard boil eggs, fruit, yogurt, milk, cereal, juice, coffee and waffles.
The room was super dirty full of dust, and spider webs, the bed sheets dirty and smelly, the small refrigerator with other peoples food, the coffee pot with old coffee that other people had left there, the dirty bathroom, no toilet paper, dirty towels, dirty bathroom floor, sink full of dirt from other people, dirty room carpet, staff without masks, the maintenance guy entered our room without a mask and with dirty shoes, The office had a bad smell, and the person at the front desk without a mask and a terrible attitude, when I went to tell the woman who was at the front desk to clean my room, they sent the maintenance guy to change the sheets and nothing else, it is disgusting that these people have this hotel, in these conditions, in time of a pandemic. no cleaning, absolutely nothing disinfected.
Wifi service barely worked and kept disconnecting - giving error No Internet.Hot water pipe from bathroom faucet kept making whistling sound and would only stop when you turned in on/off.TV was small and the picture size was framed even smaller than the tv size. Only a few channels.Originally quoted price with breakfast but then received email that, due to COVID19, breakfast was not included; the price didnt change though.Location is good to get to Sequoia National Forest. If price if your sole criteria, this place is fine. We normally stay at the cheaper hotels and expect a little less but this was even less than expected.
Wasn’t extremely impressed. Based on the photos and description it looked like a nice place. We ended up with a room on the lower section - these rooms definitely aren’t as nice as the top floor. Thin ceilings you can hear snoring and creaking. Our room had earwigs (pincher bugs) all over. Hair in the bathtub, TV didn’t work, Heater wouldn’t stay on or heat the room properly. With some improvements they could be a lot better.
My family stayed there last month July, 2015 for few days. The room is very spacious for three of us and clean. The staffs there are so nice, even the house keeping people always greet you with a smile face. Breakfast is excellent. Very close to the park. Beautiful location surrounding by mountains. You can easily go to the river - it is a walking distance. You can play basketball, swing chairs at courtyard of the hotel. My kid swam at the pool. We got everything we needed for a vacation. Excellent service. We highly recommend it!
The location is good, close to the entrance of the National Park (last village before the gate). The room size is big, the beds are comfy, and the bathroom had a lot of towels. The breakfast is good but the space is limited, we had to sit outside (luckily there was shade and the temperature was nice). It was a little overpriced. I understand there is a tourist village due to its proximity to the National Park, but still I thinks it was kind of expensive.
Location close to park (found places even closer after exploring). Rooms need updating. Only stayed four days. For my first visit to the area I really had a great time because I got up and out early. Cooked my own food, had my own small grill. Good parking. Maybe the suites are better I got the standard room. The price was right. Recommend. Try it for yourself.
For almost $200 per night, a hotel should be clean. This hotel/motel was nothing but dirty. We couldn’t even walk barefoot on the floors because the carpet was damp feeling and would leave the bottoms of our feet black! The room had a horrible smell that can’t even be described. The breakfast eating area was dirty, and had ants crawling all over the breakfast countertops. One of the employees would not let anyone, kids or adults, make their own waffles, he also would not let anyone pour their own syrup. They also had a dirty, cream colored cat that would wander and lay around the breakfast area, which grossed me out. The pool has dead bugs floating in it, which makes me wonder if the pump was broken or that they just didn’t want to run it. There is a Comfort Suites right down the road, I’m wishing I would’ve gotten a reservation there instead.
Rooms were filthy!! Bugs in bathroom ceiling and floor, rooms smelled funky. Caught a bug crawling on me twice!! I was so disgusted but had nowhere else to stay. Prices are ridiculous for this Bates motel. Staff was dismissive of complaints, refused to come see the dirty room. Also the water had very hot then cold spots and stopped working for a while then came back. Had rooms 34 and 36. Will NEVER return, will complain to booking.com
Upon arrival we were welcomed by the daughter of the owners. She was very disinterested. We had to give our name and had to wait because the room had to be checked if it was ready. After a short while we were informed that the room was ready and we went in. The rooms look clean but DO wear shoes or slippers because after walking the room once the soles of my feet were black. Also there was no water, and after asking at the reception she told us that it would be only 30 minutes and it would be working again (no apologies). After 3 hours the water worked.Breakfast was included for $135 per night, but was with paper and plastic plates and cutlery. There were waffles which you could make yourself, toast, coffee and tea, orange juice, eggs, muesli and yoghurt. It sounds like much but not for that price. The location however is very good. Near Sequoia Park and close enough to a highway. In total, good location but would not recommend it.
I really liked that they have basketball court, swing set, horse shoe game, pool. But I do have a complaint about my stay here. One of the shower towels had a big hair ball in it, I thought it was a big spider at first. But other than that its super affordable and has everything you need.
I stayed here on a trip to the sequoias for the weekend. They only had a suite available for 240$. The television had few channels and was fuzzy, the wifis connection was non-existence. The room was filthy; bathtub had soap scum, dead bugs (so gross!), and dirt in it. The floors were gross, the blankets had stains/dirt on them, and the room was overall not pleasant. I would be scared to see what their regular, non suite, rooms look like. I will say, however, that the AC worked fine, the beds were cozy, and the staff was very pleasant. I guess a good shower after a hike, AC to escape the heat, and a nice bed was all I really needed; I have to be honest about the rest though.
After reading unpleasant and bad reviews across Google, Expedia, and Booking.com, I was afraid Western Holiday Lodge would turn out to be the worst hotel experience of my life. However, this was not the case. The room was actually moderately clean, and the TV was a tube tv as many reviews stated. However, I would agree with many people that hotel needs an upgrade asap. There are many stains on the wall, showers, and other places. The shower floors paint is very old, and the blow dryer is something I have never seen before in my life. Seriously, is this blow dryer from the 1910s???? The service was initially very good, as they replaced our broken coffee machine. However, on the last day, we found to our horror, our towels were all lying on the shower floor, uncleaned, which we did eventually get replaced. The hotels breakfast is mediocre, something you would find at most motels. One very positive aspect of this lodge is the location, as it is quite close to Sequoia NP. Overall, if you are looking for a short and budget trip to Sequoia NP, Western Holiday Lodge may be a viable option.
We checked into the hotel on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 4:30pm and the room was not ready for another half hour. They also had to repair one of the drawers on the dresser. The room was big and dark and left a lot to be desired. I walked around with white socks on and they were quite dirty when I took them off. The whole room was dingy and dirty.Would have liked to take a shower in the morning, but the shower wasnt working. And for us that was a blessing in disguise because the shower head had black mold on it. When my husband called the front desk about the shower, they told him to pull the knob out and turn. It didnt work. They wouldnt come to the room to service the shower. We checked out even though we were booked there for another night. We will let hot wire know about this. I thought they checked out the hotels before listing them. I will think again before using hot wire.Would never ever go back again. I gave this one star because that was the only way to get on to review, but its a minus 10.
A little too rustic for me. Has potential. Seemed in need of some detail repairs/maintenance. Gap around the wall ac unit, spiderwebs on the vaulted ceilings. Husband had a bug land on him in the night- turned out to be harmless. Stained carpet, front door seemed rickety and bathroom was just old. Fair free breakfast in a too-small lobby. Would not stay again.
The carpet and floors are dirty, paint is peeling in bathroom we were in. The tub and shower had hot water the night before but the next morning there was no hot water except in the bathroom sink. If the owners would spend some $ on this place it would be really nice, its pretty on the outside but not worth the cost of the room on the inside.
My wife and I stopped here so that we could start our day bright and early in the forest the next morning. This place was excellent for the low nightly rate that we got. This place is clean, theres a fridge in the room and a microwave. Not to mention they give a free breakfast, toast, waffles, muffins, cereal, OJ, coffee, tea, milk. Not much but better than you can get most places with the low nightly rates. The rooms were cozy and the staff was friendly too.
Great location at the foothills of sequoia national park, but check in took a while due to nobody being at front desk for a long period of time. Poor wifi as well, and shower water pressure is quite low too. Thin walls mean youll hear your noisier neighbours quite easily. Otherwise room was clean, tidy, and pretty well equipped.
It is sublime. Simply perfect. The view from our suite is like an idyllic scene from a snow globe. The fresh mountain air, and the escape from the rush of the city was a well needed experience. The room is beautiful. It is perfectly furnished, with just about everything I could think of. However, the lack of many TV channels was a bit of a turnoff. Overall, it is amazing here.
I dont recommend anyone to stay here. The housekeeper did a good job, but every single thing in that place was ancient!!!!!!!!!!! We carried our personal care products and our medications with us every time we went somewhere because we thought someone might tamper with them. The toilet ran, the water and the coffee were horrible tasting. The drains were slow and we never used the shower because of the water and because the shower head was just an old piece of pipe with another metal piece screwed onto it that caused the water to spray. Besides the ceramic tub was old, stained, and deeply cracked. The whole feeling of the room was old, smelly, cheap, outdated, and gross. One morning, we left our room, but then remembered we had forgotten something. We were less than 3 minutes away, and when we pulled into the parking space, I remarked to my husband that our door was wide open!!! My husband went in to find a man in our room saying that someone had called about fixing the sink. We hadnt called for service and the man didnt have any tools with him! That might have been a coincidence, but we didnt like it. We checked out two days early. DONT STAY HERE! TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!! The place should be torn down!!!!!!
I just visited this place in nov 2018 with family. Things we like, nice play area for kids, microwave/fridge in room, beds were firms, good comforters and enough pillows to sleep, heating in room was good. Things we did not like, first of all big disappointment was shower in middle of hot water you get rain of cold water to make you scream, insects and lizards in room which is not good at all, they will charge you for crib, old TV and on and off working remote, carpet was not clean, breakfast is ok but muffin was not fresh.Long story short - do not consider this until and unless its last option for you.
The bed was clean, as was the toilet and basin. The bath however had big patches missing from the surface making it very unappealing. The breakfast wasnt great either. The worst thing though was that we got a phone call at 7:30am on our first morning asking if we required our room to be serviced. So glad I was just on holiday and didnt want to lie in!
My room is very roomy... I am staying in the separate building facing the river, on the second floor, and it is beautiful. The sheets are thick, thick as the ozone layer hovering over the valley. The bed was soft. Soft as cottony cotton. This is way nicer than camping.
I had decent hopes for this place after reading some positive reviews but to no avail. The carpet was nasty, the bathroom was no better with a couple of bugs here and there. The wifi didnt work consistently. The breakfast area had more people than breakfast. Oh well. On a positive note it was a short ride into the park.
Avoid this motel ! It’s absolutely awful: the mural hairdryer is falling from the wall, the plugs can be dangerous, everything’s dirty (except the sheets I must admit), the carpet was wet due to humidity, the shower either burns you or freezes without even touching the tap, and the heating was working approximately! Moreover the staff was rude and we didn’t even try the breakfast when we saw how it looked like...
I would definitely not recommend this lodge. To begin with, the cleanliness wasnt at its greatest. In addition, the drawers werent easy to open and store the clothes in. Finally, there were bedbugs. Yes, we found various bedbugs on the mattresses, and the drawers. The room seemed nice when you first go in but then when you sleep, the bugs start to crawl on you and wait for you to go to sleep and bite you. If I had the option to give a negative, I would. Just think twice before staying here because the bedbugs will get attached to your clothes and they reproduce really quickly.
Pros: just a few miles outside of the national park.Cons: pretty much everything else. The room didnt look like it had gotten a decent cleaning in years. There were cobwebs and spiders in the corners and a serious ant problem around the sink and rub. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the fitted sheets kept popping off. Being exposed to the bare hotel mattress is not what anyone wants, especially not in the middle of the night. I will be checking out the Comfort Inn next visit.
Was a nice and cheap place to stay after driving all day in a tiny car. Something was off with the bathroom that I cant remember, I think it was something like a nozzle was broke or maybeWe got there late at night and the sound of the rushing water from behind the hotel gave me chills. I love nature! I wanted to leave our window open to listen as we drifted off to sleep (and to cover the sound of lovers in the next room over) but my dad was afraid we could get robbed. As soon as I woke up the next day, I took off in the direction of the river and hiked it a bit. It was so neat!!!!!! Where I come from, there is only flat land. The breakfast was good, what you would expect at hotel/motel like this. They also had the cutest little play area for kids and pool. It had an old school tether ball and other playground things.I was dissapointed when I went to buy an ornament/post card and they would only accept cash. Oh well. I would stay here again.
Had difficulty communicating with front desk, towels and sheets did not smell fresh, room could have been cleaner and shower slippery. Shower water went from hot to ice cold and back. Not very friendly staff. Keep driving for hotels up the road. Did not eat breakfast so no comment on that.
Not very clean, not very secure. Only two things I need my hotels to be... My room key wasnt working and after 3 times of going to the front and getting new keys, the front desk lady finally came to see what wasnt working right instead of assuming I was doing it wrong when she saw FINALLY it really wasnt working, I assumed she had a master key. I was wrong.... She called a maintenance guy and I watched as he easily popped my window screen off, reached in and popped the door open. They fixed the lock that day, but still. I just want to feel safe at a hotel and I can say despite the peaceful surrounding area, I was very uneasy leaving my room unattended.
Would give this 0 stars. Over priced. Was told wed have a room with a view a dirt retaining wall is not a view. Had spider webs with dead bugs on walls, chairs were stained, a tube TV and carpet was disgusting. The day we left notice pest control spraying room next to us. Soon we started finding big black ants. NO WIFI IN ROOMS. Breakfast consist of muffins they cut in quarters, cereal, had 1 waffle maker and fruit that was old. Ice machines out of order. Check into room we had 4 people, and we had 2 bath towels and 1 wash cloth. Called up to front desk, they asked me to come up front office and get more. MY SUGGESTION KEEP DRIVING.
I have stayed at Western Holiday Lodge probably three times or so.They definitely need to do some rennovation and updates to this place but I dont mind staying here. The location is nice and I have many fond memories staying here. The Jacuzzi doesnt really work. The pool is not that great. Theres a great place to eat walking distance up the hill. I dont have any major complaints about staying here, it seems to suit all my needs.... The property just needs a little love and maybe a facelift.
Changing my star rating from 4 down to 2 stars. We stayed here several months ago back in October during the off-season and had a really good experience. Some of the pros are that it is quaint, affordable and has a nice little playground and basketball area for kids to play and an OK little pool. Unfortunately when we stayed here just recently in summer during a more peak time it was as to be expected more pricey but the biggest problem we had was there was no hot water in the room. After asking them to take a look at it and try to fix it they really werent able to do much. So on the next day they were kind enough to let us switch rooms, but from the sounds from other customers in the office lots of other folks had no hot water in their rooms either. Also come to find out that after we vacated our room with no hot water they simply let somebody else check into it and stay that night. They of course had no hot water water either and were upset the next morning when we happen to see them complaining in the front office.
No wifi. Towels could have been cleaner, (brought my own). Boiled eggs, muffins cut in quarters, at least I could take enough to make a whole one. The bed ok, could do with newer bed covers. Thankful for hot water, AC, small fridge and microwave.. TV channels few good ones. Nice lady at the office. Close to park.. Ok for my first time trip to the Sequoias.
Today I went after a long drive to stay @ this place thinking that I was getting a great deal cause we were paying $112 for the night. When we got in we met a very rude woman at the reception who wouldnt tell us her name because she didnt feel safe or comfortable giving her name to us. Now, I understand not giving your last name, but first name? Thats common courtesy to provide, ESPECIALLY if youre taking my credit card information and having me stay the weekend at YOUR building. When I explained to her how that didnt make sense, she was INCREDIBLY dismissive about it and so I requested a refund and decided to continue to the next available hotel. Ended up saving $ AND had better service from Comfort Inn just a mile away from there. I realized also that the owner or the name from the business card they have also only lists the first initial and not necessarily the full name, only last name. These are red flags of an untrustworthy business. At least thats my take as a tourist. It was shady to say the least.
It was nice. There’s a hot tub and breakfast. Cute cats running around. Pet friendly with a charge.. but a big space to run around with them at a playground on site. Wasn’t that classy, though. There was fallen “caution do not cross” tape just sitting outside out back window.
Upon arrival to the hotel, we were unwelcomingly greeted by the front manager, who just handed us the key and a room number, did not explain wifi password, breakfast, ice, pool, things to do, nothing. Once in the room, we found 3 foot long spider webs across the window drapes to the middle of the bed wall on the ceiling. There were spider webs on the wall, on the window, on the door, over the bathroom sink, in the shower lights, you name it. There were bed bugs on the pillows and dead flies and alive ants roaming the room. This room is infested, as with other rooms as we tried to switch rooms with hopes it was better. We were denied a refund although only being there two hours. Stay away if you care for your childrens health and own health. THIS PLACE IS INFESTED, unsanitary and down right disgusting. Cannot believe with all of this presented we were still denied a refund. horrible customer service and professionalism.
Broken screens, spider webs everywhere, dead bugs in hallways, no soap or glasses, 8 channel fuzzy tv, didnt replace dirty towels and gave only 3 pillows for a queen bed. AC worked tho and pool was decent. Web pics are deceiving and management said there were bike trails...NOT!Brought bikes for no reasonOverpriced for lodge in need of repairs.
It was good... for the price.Pros: Price, A.C. nice and cold, beds were alright. Breakfast. Small outdoor park for young ones. 2 cats that live there are very friendlyComs. Old appliances. Wi-Fi was non existent, never worked for any of us. I feel like front desk could have been better. Never got a receipt, never printed.
Room was nice, could maybe do with a bit of a refurb. WiFi is only available at the lobby. Breakfast was pretty good quality food for the price: fresh bread (+ toaster), muffins, make your own waffles/oatmeal, cereal, eggs and apples when we were there. They had some cats wandering around which was nice and added to the personal feel. Good location for sequoia national park.
The reception needs to improve. We arrived an hour early and rang the bell for service and the lady that came out was not helpful. Everytime we ask a question the lady seemed so bother to answer our general questions about her hotel. Overall the rooms are clean and near the sequoia entrance. Rooms have fridge and microwave with basic TV channels.
Horrible service, if issues like broken airconditioning, clogged toilets, no hot water, cold hot tub, watered down Orange juice or milk, frozen hard boiled eggs, broken waffle iron, lack of service (one hard working receptionist has to service 30 and more guests checking out, getting refills, etc) few bananas, apples brought in a few guests (for this kind of motel one needs more service during peek hours), mould in the bathroom are brought up in a professional way expecting solutions, the owner attacks you arguing that there is no problem but YOU are the problem. It is very obvious that the owner is extremely frugal, penny pinching, and being in denial of the obvious. - I believe to run a business is not easy and there are many bad customers putting undue pressure on the business for estranged entitlements. I get this, but this is no reason not to recover to common sense or hand over the organisation to a person who wants to earn great reviews! The owner and his wife were hiding in their offices and we asked the receptionist to call the police to witness our experience. In that moment we were able to talk to the manager (here owner) to point out the shortcomings. An honest attempt would be the start instead of we do our best, your are the problem, it seems you dont have money, My upbringing was better than yours.- side note, we were professional, political correct and pointed out shortcomings in a calm tone.We do not recommend this overpriced hotel, unless you get a great deal and expect not to much. A bad representation for guests from anywhere and from other countries. The beds are fine and clean water comes out of the shower. Get a plunger (dont ask for one. We did and it never came. We had to get it)when using the antiquated plumbing system.Unfortunately we talked about this for too long and it put a negative bad feeling on our vacation experience. So unnecessary.
Terrible.First off, staff checking us in was very rude. Pretty much treated you like youre a bother, no greeting, no information about accommodation etc.(you know, the stuff you normally get informed about when checking in). Lady just mumbled room number, tossed a key at you and thats it. Well Hello too you too!!!Anyway, everyone can have a bad day, even in hospitality business, right? Yeah... Anyhow; the place is near National Park, so cell reception is spotty. If you want to use internet, you need a Wi-fi...dont count on it in here. Since we got no info at check in, we had to call reception for Wi-Fi password.First off, I was not even sure if anyone answered the phone , because whoever picked it up didnt say a word...after figuring out there is in fact a person on the other side of the line (breathing into the phone...not creepy at all) we asked about the password, got short answer, tried it. It did not work. We call again, we got a very rude (and same as first time)answer, and then the person hung up...seriously, they hung up as if i was a telemarketer interrupting their favorite soap opera. Unbelievable.Turned out the wifi only works sometimes, and only outside the rooms+only if youre relatively close to, and facing the lobby/office. No big deal, we were there for leisure not on buisness , so it might have been a nuisance but not something we could not live without for one night.Last (but not least) issue was ant infestation in the room. There was black trail of ants leading from bathroom to the minibar area...so again, we called the front desk, and hold and behold ;nobody answered. We left the message saying what the issue was..we havent heard back for over an hour, finally someone shows up and hands me...wait for it....Oxi Clean Stain Remover.🤦♀️🤷♀️So in summary, its not seedy just yet, but dont expect much more than a bed and four walls (and few dozen of tiny cohabitants). In my opinion the owners might be more successful opening an Escape Room here rather than a lodge. Staff is just perfect for the job, and guests might at least get a kick out of it instead of getting flustrated.
Besides the location is close to Sequoia National Park, we didnt find any good features of this hotel. We reserved a high price room and got a room with low price. A lady gave me a document with low price and let me sign it. I found the price of the room is different from the price of the room I reserved. When I asked the reason, they cannot explain it. One lady also threathened me and asked me if I still needed that room. Utilities of this hotel are very old and bad, you can not use WIFI althogh free WIFI is provided. If you live on the third floor, taking a shower is very difficult job. Dont trust the swimming pool, water is dirty. The receptionists in this hotel are not well-trained. I will never go back to this hotel.
I would describethe experience as a flashback. Very old fashioned hotel rooms, very big but old. The housekeeping was acceptable but the carpet was really dirty and the room stinked. Breakfast was weak, served on plastic plates and cuttlery. Really overpriced for what you get.
The room was way over priced. The air conditioning wasnt on. It took the air conditioning like 5 hours to get it cool in there. There was a open frozen toco left in the fridge that wasnt ours. There were aunts in the room. There was a crt tv. There were spider webs. The breakfast was okay. The view was nice. The beds were nice.
The only reason this place got one star was because of the distance to Sequoia National Park. Other than that, this hotel deserves NO STARS.This hotel is gross. Period. Upon checking in, we found that our room had no water. The young front desk girl, who was EXTREMELY disinterested and unfriendly, said it would be 30 minutes. I dont know why they didnt inform us then when we had just checked-in 10 minutes ago.BUT, we soon found out that they turn the water off everyday around 12 or so and say its only for 30 minutes to an hour for maintainence. After the second day of needing to go the bathroom, I asked the same front desk girl what to do. She NEVER apologized and told me there was a restaurant 6 minutes down the road. WHAT?!?Our room looked clean at first glance but a second look would show anyone how disgusting this hotel is. Our shower didnt drain and filled with gross things everytime we showered. When you opened the bathroom door after showering, the fire alarm went off EVERY SINGLE TIME.I would NEVER recommend this place.
Overall i felt good with the stay and services. We visited Sequoia the weekend and stayed at Western holiday Lodge for a night.Reached at 1030pm and office person was available to get the keys of the room. I had pre booked thru Priceline. We had a perfect view of the mountains on the next day morning.Breakfast is served from 7-9. They serve cereals, bread, juice , waffles, fruits ,juice and coffee.Bath room needs an upgrade asap.shower was leaking and toilet flush wasnt having enough pressure.Staff was friendly and welcoming.General Sherman tree would be at least 20-25 miles away .
Stayed for one night, the rooms are very dated and decor just downright feels like its 1995. At $190 a night you would expect updated, not upgraded, just updated amenities such as a flat screen TV, and updated decor. I hadnt seen a tube TV in at least 10 years. Dont book here if you can help it.
Scotts review is spot on. There is nothing good nor little bad about this hotel. I could add as downsides of this place that the pool is not very clean and service is not very efficient.Nonetheless, This is probably the second best equipped hotel in the area (after the comfort inn) but if you find yourself paying more than 100 dollars per night then you should definitely consider looking for better value for money from your many motels along the road in 3 rivers .
Its ok. The place is not very well mantainted, and definitely too experience for the quality of the room. The wifi wasnt working working half of the time. The air-conditioning is really loud. But overall its clean, includes breakfast and is very close to the National Park, which is a great plus. The staff is pretty friendly as well.
It was the worst place I had ever stayed. Carpet smelled badly, bathroom dirty, wrap sheets, pillows were old and smelled badly. Staff was not friendly and worst I ever met. I recommended that never stayed here even it will offer the best prices. No internet at all, breakfast was so cheap and not enough for guests stayed there. This is the worst place to stay.
They charged extra money when we checked in for the same amount of people we originally booked for. The pool was literally green and un usable, so was the jacuzzi. The shower was running only cold water at times and the Tv lost signal. WiFi inside the room was horrible. Will definitely not be staying here again!
Dont stay here!! A few miles ahead theres a comfort inn for the same price.Theres no housekeeping. Whole hotel stinks with the smell of mold and there was dust and trash everywhere. The carpet in my room was soaked with a strange moisture... even the breakfast looks suspicious.
Nice stay overall. Close to tye Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. Friendly staff, quiet and clean environment. The only thing that we didnt like was the orange juice for the breakfast, it tasted like it has expired or something, really not good. But otherwise it was good.
If I could give zero stars I would. Pool/hot tub -dirty. Room was dirty. AC didnt work. No hot water - three days. I complained with no resolution. Room and grounds were dirty/shabby. Breakfast - passing. However, they ran out of yogurt, coffee and the waffle makers didnt work on a regular basis. While it is cheap and close to the parks I would not recommend.
There is reason you can always get room here...do not expect anything but bed to sleep and shower. Its rundown, view out window is piled up trash, Wi-Fi doesnt work in rooms, things like lamp switches and shower curtain poles are broken, toilets back up, worst breakfast I ever had, front desk people literally wont even speak to you, its not filthy but its not really clean either, everything is very old. Its too bad cause it wouldnt take much to make this a cute place ...they just dont bother trying.
First of all, VERY DIRTY! The beds head boards were greasy with hand prints, pillows stunk like sweat, carpet had too many disgusting stains, mini fridge had stains and hand prints, bathtub was filthy, etc. Patio had a beautiful view of the lake but the ENTIRE patio was filled with spider webs, we could not even open the door to go out to the patio because the door was covered in webs. Our toilet had issues, we called maintenance and they never showed up. In the end, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
It wasnt the worst place Ive ever stayed but it sure wasnt the best.First the good; the room was clean, Air conditioner worked and the water was almost hot. The place is old and quaint but I find that appealing. The not so good; the WiFi didnt work the breakfast was disappointing even for free carbs, old fruit and some hard boiled eggs. I wont talk about the coffee. It is close to the entrance of Sequoia Park, but you should know its a long way up the mountain to the trees and the Giant Forest Museum. About an hour slow drive (25 miles) up a beautiful steep winding road.At about $91 at night with tax its a place to crash. We did not use the pool. Overall it was OK. Im not sure if well go back.
Stayed at this dump for two nights. First thing I noticed was the temperature of water in shower is opposite of what the handle says, C is hot and H is cold, then it randomly changes while in the shower. One moment its normal, then cold, then really hot without you touching anything.Secondly, I discovered two mice in the room. Went to the desk and told attendant there and she called someone had only said that they had a guest in one of the rooms. Apparently this has happened before because there was no other explanation from the attendant and the person on the other end of the phone knew what she meant by guest.I repeat, this place has bad plumbing and a RODENT PROBLEM. I would HIGHLY recommend NOT staying here.
The rooms were nice looking tv worked but just basic Chanels one channel said dish was off too many spiders and other weird insects was hard to fall asleep cuz of being worried 😟 of getting bit by a spider me and my wife was up almost all night the spiders were big talk about ( eight legged freaks) this is the live movie will never stay here again!!!! Not even if they paid me ... im sticking to best western hotels
WiFi only available near reception, not in rooms. Phone signal ok, including mobile Internet. Breakfast was ok, nothing special - they did have waffle makers, though. Bed was very squeaky. Not many power sockets. Felt very dated, like it could do with some refurbishment. For the price, Im very happy.
We stayed at Western Holiday Lodge on March 25th through March 30th. The four of us were very disappointed. We had to deal with cold showers. I personally walked down to the lobby. The owner would then go turn up the water heater. Room needed updating. We will not be staying there again.
Dirty, run down,. No ice. We were on the lower level and someone in the room above us was walking across the floor all night. Even on the morning dont k ow when they slept. I Could not sleep. Also some one in the room next to us snored all night. I could hear it through the walls.
We stayed here on the way to Sequoia National Park. Its right off route 198 and easily mistaken name wise for a best western (it is not one) but in any case as an independent operation its adequate for an overnight lodging. Rooms are clean in the most generous adequacy. WiFi was available but didnt actually work-no traffic. Breakfast was complementary, Costco muffins, oatmeal packets, Belgium waffle iron, coffee tea. Everything self service. Get in get out, get on with it.
Deanna Diaz, shift manager was very unprofessional in accomadating me after herself and staff made a mistake. I understand mistakes happen, so when they canceled my two rooms the night before my trip due to them not calling me all I asked was that we get the rooms for the same price I had booked it for a weeks ago. Instead they told me they were going to charge me double the price for the same room. They hung up the call multiple times on me while I was talking, they placed the call on hold multiple times while I was talking. She was so unprofessional throughout the conversation, she raised her voice and insisted that I was lying. I did my part in reserving weeks before my trip and I had to be the one to reach out to them and confirm the room and still I had my rooms canceled and told to pay double the price. This customer service is poor!!!
A place that has free WiFi but only works about 10% of the time and has (tube) TV but only about eight working OTA channels. This place offers you just what you need, a place for a good night rest. Theres free breakfast that starts at 7am where theres coffee, cereal and fruits. As well as waffles that youll have to make yourself, which is really easy if you can follow three simple instructions. Theres an AC and heater available should you need it. The shower handle we used was miswired so the cold was hot and vice versa. Well be staying again if we can continue to get their low prices. Plenty of parking too but we came when tourism wasnt too high, January.
Dreadful experience.Avoid like the plague.Room smelt of urine in the morning which was horrendous. An alarm went off in the room next door from 4am & stayed on until the morning so we got no sleep. In the morning we asked to speak to a manager & what a surprise - he’s not here, can’t get hold of him - he will call you...Zero service from the grinning lady at the customer service desk, no offer of a refund without speaking to the manager who remarkably disappears when needed.
Let me start by saying I didn’t even get to stay at this lodge but ended up canceling my reservation bc the staff was beyond rude! Due to the fire in Yosemite I had to change some things around in my itinerary so I called to see if I could change my original reservation by arriving earlier and leaving 1 day later. Manager at first said it was possible but due to booking via Expedia I had to call them to change it. Called Expedia, who then called back to the hotel and the hotel acted as though we just made everything up and they never agreed to the change. Called the hotel clearly knowing what they told me the first time and that’s when they got so belligerent and verbally hostile out of nowhere. I never raised my voice was just trying to get some answers all the while they talked over me, yelling, and then they hung up in my face! Then they refused to answer the phone. Finally after calling like 5 times in a row so I could at least get the name of the rude individual, she finally picked up and goes “Oh my gosh lady why don’t you stop calling here!” If this is how they treat you before you get there I would hate to see if you needed something while actually being a guest! Upon further inspection of reviews this place shouldn’t even be allowed to be an Expedia listing. People reported rude staff of course, dirty water and rooms, bed bugs, and more. Proximity to Sequoia is all they seem to have going for them, do not book here if you want to enjoy your vacation! I would rather sleep in my car than give this “hotel” my money!
Traveled in America for two weeks. Stayed in different hotels - expensive and cheap. Everywhere was a perfect service. But in this hotel we got the most terrible experience ... Dirty rooms, problems with water in the shower, no internet, terrible smell... Please dont live here!
Not the best place. The ice machine is broke. The jacuzzi is cold. The pool was just a little dirty.Breakfast was cheap, terible and crowded. The internet is spotty at best. They are charging peak-season prices for a very bad product/service.I cannot rate this place low enough.
Good Value!PROS: Clean big room. Huge King bed. Micro-fridge with freezer. Nice staff. Close to resturants and stores. Nice pool and hot tub. Nice landscaping. Good tasting water. Medium quality /quantity continental breakfast.CONS: Wifi slow but OK in our room(1Mbps download and only .05Mbps upload speed). Wifi non-functional in lobby. Bathroom curtain fell down because it was not attached.
Decent prices and clean property. Easily accessible and fairly close to the entrance of SNP. A tad bit older looking, but service was good and friendly. Amenaties were not extravagant but sufficed when needed. Wifi, if needed, is in the main lobby. If you are just looking for a bed and a few extras this place will work, but there are some more locations a few miles in that might havemore accomodations.
Old, but gets the job done. Close to sequoia national park, lots of mosquitos because of the near by lake. Small little outdoor pool thats fun for the kids and free breakfast with your stay. Free wifi and good toilet paper, lol. So nothing fancy , but no bed bugs, so thats a plus.
The place did not have wifi in most rooms, did not have t.v. channels as they stated. The only real feature was price was somewhat reasonable. The pool was extremely dirty, there was more wrong, you might research before going there are a lot better places near Sequoia.
BED BUG!! we stayed in room #30 on Oct 25th. In the middle of night, we all feel itchy and thats when we found bed bugs. We called the office and asked for a new room at 3 am. We even caught the bed bugs and show them to the manager. Guess what? No apology, No refund. They said IT MIGHT BE YOU WHO BRINGING THE BED BUGS. Now I am doing laundry because I am afraid bed bugs might come home with me. WORST HOTEL EVER!
Room ok. Breakfast ok. Room was at 90 degrees or so when we arrived. Left early next morning to tour park. Left a/c on to keep room cool for a nap when we returned and they had turned the a/c off and it was 90 dgrees in the room again. Customer service very poor. Would not return
3 NightsI dont know where to start 🤦♂️NEGATIVE FIRSTI turned on the shower and the Water smells like a Sewer. I brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth with that water and tasted like out of toilet. I feel sick 🤢The TV has 9 solid channels and they dont even come in properly 😂Furnitures are from 1990. I feel like a teenager. Room has no Airflow. AC blows hot air. Flees are biting my left and right. I can hear the people upstairs walking and running whatever they do up there. Breakfast cant be even called Breakfast because all you get is waffles, orange juice, milk and cornflakes, bred and coffee. NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT PART TO TALK ABOUT IS THE MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. MY LOVELY WIFE CALLED THE FRONT DESK TO TALK TO A MANAGER ABOUT THE WATER THAT IT SMELLS LIKE SEWER. THE FRONT DESK CLERK PICKED UP HER PHONE CALL AND MY WIFE ASKED RIGHT AWAY FOR A MANAGER. SHE GOT TRANSFERRED TO A LADY. MY WIFE ASKED FOR HER NAME FIRST BEFORE STATING THE COMPLAIN. THE LADY REFUSE ED TO EXPOSE HER NAME TO US. THE LADY STARTED A ARGUMENT WITH MY WIFE FOR NO REASON AND HANG UP ON MY WIFE. MY WIFE CALLED BACK AND THAT LADY REFUSED TO TALK TO MY WIFE.CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A EXTREMELY ISSUE OVER HERE.This place would be amazing with some upgrades and for sure changes on the MANAGEMENT. I mean the outside looks nice and relaxed and everything else SUCKS.I rather pay more to get the respect and Service we deserve. My advise. STAY OUT OF HERE IF YOU REALLY HAVE PLANS TO ENJOY A VACATION.
This place is ok for its price! a really nice garden and a lake next to the hotel. Subway and a good pizza place 20 mins walk from here. not really friendly staff but we really don’t care about it :)btw it’s close to sequoia and not bad to stay here for just one night

2022-03-01Positive: Really close to the park and a few good eateries and coffee shops. Negative: I didn¿t easily find info about whether the hot tub and continental breakfast would be available during my stay. They weren¿t. Also, though the rooms were clean, they were very outdated and the mattress was way too firm (and I have a firm mattre

2022-06-10This place is definitely overpriced. I guess you are paying for location. It’s a typical outdated motel. It’s in desperate of a makeover. No free breakfast. We had ants in our room but other than that the room was VERY clean. Pillows and sheets didn’t smell.

2022-05-11Make sure u book a hotel before getting to Three Rivers-no internet. Over priced hotel needs updating. Free breakfast advertised and on sign BUT they didnt have. Our bathroom door was sticking and virtually no TV channels. Possibly a good place for families. Outdoor area to play in.

2022-06-05We had to pay extra $20 because we want to pay with card, and not cash. (Who is using cash today?)The pool was unusable with green water in it, and the jacuzzi is closed. Also there is no breakfast, because if COVID. But Covid is over...The room was clean and pretty big hough.

2022-04-12A negative 3 star, great View that had nothing to do with the lodge. If you dont mind hair in the bathtub (a lot) a clogged drain, spider Web above the sink light and a closet door that doesnt work its not that bad!!!

2022-05-27Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Wish I had read all reviews before staying there. Hot water lasted all of 2 minutes. Worst shower ever. Stayed 3 nights and never had a decent shower. Bugs in the tub as well. Main lock on door didn’t work, phone didn’t work, main light didn’t work. Not even a pen and pad on nightstand. Had to use TP to write something down. We let the owner know, he came and looked and that was it. When checking out I brought up all the problems again and told her how horrible our stay was thinking she would give some kind of discount. Literally all I got was “Oh sorry “. DO NOT STAY HERE! Pay a little extra, trust me, it will be worth it. I will be posting a review on the Sequoia/ Kings Canyon social media group I belong to as well to warn people about this place in Three Rivers.

2022-06-23Had booked 2 nights at the River Inn, who cancelled our reservation at 8pm the day of with no reason. They rerouted us to the Western Holiday Lodge for the first nights. Staff was very unwelcoming and water in the shower was cold (in February …) and had a disgusting brownish color. Camping, even in February, would have been a far better option…

2022-05-21Ive stayed at this place before and every time it gets worse and worse. Over priced and nothing works right. Every time i stay i say never again. This place sucks. The hot tube is always broken and this morning i find out there not serving breakfast. Dont stay here. I will never stay here again. The Comfort Inn is down the street and i will be staying there next year.... please please please dont wast your money at this place. If i could give this place half a star i would.

2022-06-22Positive: It is close to the lake, the river, and the national park. Negative: The room was filthy with hair, cobwebs, bugs in lights, and hotel was run down. Promised breakfast was not delivered. Room keys had to be reprogrammed everyday and there was questionably aged children as part of maid service. Weird
