Aside from having overpriced rent to pay, I have been given many problems from water leaking through beams and seeping through my whole carpet while creating a horrible smell as well as mold that only got taken care of after months of persistence, to having to deal with such thing as carpet beatles that I only recently knew existed from having terribly old carpet, to also having to constantly deal with the dryers not working and being told to drag my entire load to a different floor while not being given a reimbursement/or dryers ruining expensive clothes that I have just recently gotten. This place is not worth the amount of rent paid and even more so with the fact that the rent is being raised.
DO NOT SIGN THAT LEASE! These apartments are NOT safe.1. My wheels/tires have been stolen TWICE so far. The parking complex is not owned by the apartments so they have no responsibility over any theft.2. They are starting construction on a hotel right next door so it will be very loud in 2019.3. The office doesnt care about you.- The front desk is run by young people with little to no experience and the people who manage are RUDE and dismissive. All they do is give you your packages and collect your rent.4. The quality is very poor.- The bedrooms are fine. One problem is that they do not have lights so you have to buy your own.- the kitchens are falling apart. The fake wood panels are held by tape. The microwaves barely work, the dishwashers dont work, the stoves are fragile and begin to smoke when you try to make anything that isnt eggs. I warn you never try to bake anything in the oven.- During winter break they turn off the power, so all of the food in the fridge rotted and we had to clean everything out with bleach. The smell stayed for days.- Heaters tend to not work in winter.- The garbage chute room smells god awful. They dont clean it.- The washing machines do not clean clothes properly and the dryers leave clothes wet.- a lot of homeless people tend to lay around in the UV area and will bug you for money (trust me its not for food or a bus ticket)- the new shuttle they have to take you to school is fairly small so half of the people inside have to stand.PLEASE FIND ANOTHER PLACE! If you want to pay the bare minimum and expect low quality service then the UV Towers are the place for you.
I like living here by far, however security needs work and so does the bldg itself. A week ago an incident occurred in the bldg and I no longer feel safe. I saw security for a bit but I do not know if there is still security at night. Everyone living here is a student and I wish the bldg management company would take our safety a top priority since we are paying to live here. The bldg does seem like it just needs up keeping. Cleaning of actual apartments needs to happen because when I moved in the bathroom was disgusting and I cleaned it too to bottom. It was gross. I will update my review when the school year is over to see if there are any changes UVT has made.
This place is beyond a disappointment and adeception. I have never been so upset with a builder/owner. When we were given a tour we were showed a beautiful set up but all was awful on move in day. I had to clean a dirty nasty apartment. There was mold under the kitchen sink, the refrigerator was in the living room, the floors were dirty, the cabinets had water damage, paint job was disgusting and there were dirty underwear in my nieces drawer!!! Who gives a key to a new tenant whos apartment is super gross ? Not to mention the builders? Are they a bunch of idiots? How did these apartments even pass inspection? The cabinets are built wrong ( which is why the refrigerator is in the living room) and you have to open the oven door to open a cabinet. This place is a dump!!! A motel is in better shape.
Great staff. Always there to help when I had questions. Only reason I’m not giving it 5 is because the rooms are quite small and the living space (living room) is small too. They are very private. Don’t have people coming in and out everyday for daily check ins. The maintenance people are the best! The guy with the beard. (Sorry I don’t know your name) is the greatest! Friendly staff! Always come within 24 hours to fix anything! Leaks, breaks etc. at no charge. They helped me move in last minute. And I mean last minute! Sad to leave this fall but would definitely recommend to anyone who want their privacy and a small cozy place to stay for school. Located right next to UCR (walking distance), RCC and lots of food places. Recommend especially if you have a car. They also provide transport to UCR for free! Thank you Village towers for the wonderful experience. First place I could call a home.
Oh where to begin. In addition to the constant plumbing problems at UVT, as a third year resident, I was subjected to live in mold (under my bed and on my ceiling) and pay rent to live in mold from December 2019 to April 2020. Numerous work orders went unsatisfied, and when maintenance came to check it they would never return. I haven’t lived in other apartments but if I were to compare it to freshman dormitories it’s pale in comparison. Paying $730 a month to live in this apartment is highway robbery even if there wasn’t mold. I would not recommend UVT as a housing option to Anyone.
I had applied topics in this location did the necessary papers and made the payment everything cleared then 2mo later it was updated and now creditors are mailing me papers demanding money for this facility in which I have not ever moved into period. I am not satisfied with the whole process and demand a full refund of the 135 dollars total Ive given for fees not including the 745 dollars for a room within a unit being shared with 3 other occupants.
UV Towers management charges its tenants after they move out for their level of cleanliness. Everyone in our apartment has been additionally charged for their bedrooms (the charges explicitly state the reason). However, they do not dedicate any of the money that was levied in fees to clean up after their tenants, as my flatmates and I happened upon an apartment with mold growing in several places, disgusting floors, developed rust in the water dispensers, bugs, and leftover groceries that rotted badly in the cupboards/refrigerator/sink/etc. Personally, management violated my contract by giving me a double room rather than a single room. They paired me with the worst roommate possible, who was described as a known problem in UVT by Kelvin, one of the staff members. I had to pay my security deposit and first month rent with a ridiculously high convenience fee for a room that I never received. They are all about charging their tenants with ridiculous fees for low quality housing. Do not live here if you can.
The living apt is nice, and the worker is nice if you want to fix something in your apartment. BUT!!! As a resident who renew their contract in order to get a nearer parking spot, there always someone else took my space! For about 2 weeks I cannot park my car in my space. And guess what the front desk ask me to do, he ask me to park on the top floor, which is about 6th or 7th of the parking building! Before I decide to live here, I thought people who took someone elses space will be tolled, BUT, they are doing nothing basically. And he warned me that I will be tolled if I am not moving my car to the top floor.
Honestly I didnt really know what to expect moving in.couple of bad things about it- front gate entrance to elevators gets flooded every time it rains- gym had water leaks- right by the freeway, noise gets very annoying after a while- terrible laundry system that forces you to buy a card- the bedrooms they showcase have showers inside the rooms. The actual rooms have bathrooms outside, which makes things a bit awk sometimes.- half of the 4 stovetops doesnt work, and the oven takes 2x as long to bake things for some reason- random homeless people, and stinky trash by the front entrancegood things- provided desk is very nice- right by the market
Terrible management, moved into a filthy apartment. Refrigerator was rusted and they refused to fix or replace it. They said they would clean the place after we moved in but never followed through. Laundry costs $3 and most of the machines are broken or in poor condition. The pools are filthy and filled with leaves. Ive lived here for 9 months and they just ignore all the issues
They do not enforce their no-smoking policy and lied to me about me being on a waitlist to switch rooms. My next-door roommate was friends with the staff, so they let him break any rules he wanted with no repercussions. This roommate smoked indoors non-stop, causing the main room to smell awful. I notified the staff over five times of my problems, but none of it mattered because they refused to take any action against this roommate. I had to find another place in the middle of the school year.
First off, Id like to begin with how uncomfortable I am to even have to give 1 star to this place. And yes, people who usually write reviews either have something negative or positive to say, but maybe I have a great reason for that. I lived here for one academic school year and after I moved out, they still continue to harass me to pay for outstanding balances. Typically I wouldnt write a review, but after being billed a second time, it makes me a bit angry. When I was first billed, it was first for damages made to the property, and I confronted the employee at UVT and the employee wasnt even able to explain to me in details of what I was actually being billed for. Also, I was the only one to be billed. Fine, its only $30 and I paid my part. I wanted to cut all ties with this place. 6 months later, I receive another email saying I have an outstanding balance that may affect my credit. Now Im wondering what I can be POSSIBLY billed for as Ive moved out for 8 months and have already settled all my payments. This is definitely one of the most unprofessional experiences Ive had and I wouldnt want anyone to experience this frustration as Ive had. And its not just the ridiculous billings and the apartment wasnt even a decent place to live in in the first place(and you dont want to get started on that). Id like to tell suggest you all to do a careful research before deciding where to live because you never know if its going to come back and bite you in the ass, not once, but twice.
I have lived here for the past year since I was slowly running out of options and was desperate for a place. All the other 1 star reviews on yelp were really accurate. Living here was the worst mistake I could have made. These are just a FEW examples out of many many more:our apartment started off with the previous tenants mess when we first moved in, there was no clear space in the living room and the kitchen counter was full of trash that they left behindwe asked for multiple maintenance fixes, but they never did anything, the fridge had rust near the water dispenser and will probably stay there for the next victimsproblems with trying to communicate with management, especially tim Tim, specifically, has a terrible attitude problem. He is completely unfit to be a manager. The least he could do is act like he cares, but when you are speaking to him, he acts very bothered and annoyed that you even came in with your problems. I asked if I could speak to him in his office, and his responses were very insincere and rude. He was very dismissive of my problems, and did not seem like he cared at all. -another tenantthey charged me after I left for cleaning fees, even though my room was cleaner than they left it for me to move into, theyll probably just charge me and do nothing about it and let the next victim move in just to rob them of their money tootheres also the issue with safety, the gates have broken locks, so that you can just push the door open and anybody could get in to the complex be right outside your door (ive seen random tweakers wander inside), and someone recently got mugged in the uvt parking lot even though theres a security guard watching the parking lotthe only good thing about this place is the shuttle that takes you to ucr, and even then whoever designed the bus schedule had some screws loose. the bus leaves uvt every x:05 and x:35 and gets to winston chung at x:10 and x:40, so you would always have to go early or always be 5-10 mins late to your class. then to go from ucr to uvt, the bus goes around campus from winston chung to the flagpole with stops in between and finally leaves campus at x:26 and x:56 so that when you finish class, you have to wait a whole 30 minutes for the bus to take you back or walk which takes less than half that time.PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN GOOD DO NOT LIVE HERE.
UV Towers has super friendly and helpful staff and always hosts great events to help get residents to get together and have fun. I really love it here at UVT. Theres no cap on utilities, the facility is well maintained, and it has a great location. Also, theres shuttle service to campus, which is great because 1) you dont have to deal with trying to drive to school and find parking and you save on gas, and 2) if you were planning on walk to campus, its a great alternative, especially if its raining or too hot out. As for events that the staff hosts, theres tons of events that have prizes such as the annual talent show which is tons of fun to watch or participate in, lots of movie nights, and almost weekly some sort of food is available at the leasing office like Waffle Wednesday or Nacho Night. All their events have food. Im glad I went with UVT for my place to stay while at UCR.
I just signed the contract and they charge me for a full month and we moved in 8th of January,,, that’s really unfair and I met three deferent people and they said it’s $770 for a month and now when I ask for return or refund the charge for 7 or 8 days they said that they charge for the terms!!!! I’m so upset,,,, pls be careful and read the contract carful

2021-10-13Ive lived here for 2 years and experienced changes in several wall colors from yellow to gray. Love this place and will recommend it to my friends. My roommates were changed each year, fortunately, UV towers helps me to match them well, and we become really good friends. Each floor has its laundry room, its open to all residents, but its been maintained regularly, so they are not really messy as other laundry places outside.UV towers are closed to freeways, but Ive never been bothered by noise because windows are double-shield. Noise wont be able to go through as long as windows are closed. It will be completely quiet and sound-proof. Even no noise from next door because walls are not made in woods. Views are pretty good on the top, by the way.leasing office staffs are friendly, even during the pandemic. Even though everyone in the office might give different solutions, theyre all willing to solve problems ASAP.I just got my deposit back less than 2 months after I move out on August 31st, and they deduct money fairly. I almost get all my money back. I will definitely miss this place!

2022-01-19UVT is great overall and the customer service is the best. But some of the cons are that its a little too close to the freeway and the security is not the best. The electricity often is off in my room and bathroom and I have to call maintenance to fix it. It is a nice place and its an affortable price as well. To be safe, carefully pick your roomates because I picked two of mine online and they are not the best and they often leave trash out in the living room and kitchen.

2021-04-13This complex is very unorganized and not the absolute cleanest there is always something wrong. Leaking ceilings, dirty and not working laundry rooms and the leasing office can never answer questions. You will get a different response to your concern from every associate.I myself have had maintenance come into my place 3 times for the same leak (that was not even caused by me). One of the times I had to be moved out of the apartment for a whole 5 days. Youre overcharged for parking on the first floor (where your car is most susceptible being broken into like I witnessed 2 weeks ago. And even after confirming my renters assurance, they mistakenly attempted to charge me for 3 months. Im sharing my experience because this place greatly needs up their effort in making this a quality experience. You all should not sit back and relax due to the fact that there will always be desperate college students seeking a place to stay.Leaving 2 starts because the maintenance team is very nice and the rent is affordable for a student who works a full time job🙂

2021-02-16My company has been a vendor for this property for over 15 years and have had an excellent relationship with management. They are always very responsive and appear to be sincerely interested in the happiness and welfare of the students. When there is an immediate pest control need, management is quick to contact our company to remedy the situation as soon as possible, usually same day or next day service. The buildings are maintained meticulously and I have always felt safe at this property. It would be the type of facility that I would send my own child to live.

2021-11-12I’m a resident here currently and I use the gym. There were missing dumbbells for a awhile so I called the office to let them know and a week or two later there were new dumbbells! Also the staff is always really nice.

2021-03-12Since you all decided to delete my last review. I’ll got into detail as to why I left it it initially. My job moved me here during the middle of COVID and this was the first place I could find... Goodness was I in surprise! When I got here there was a mix up with my rooming and the apartment I was in. It took nearly a week to get everything correct after tracking down the manager. There were critters all over the carpet, and mold was found in the ice tray in the freezer. At least 1-2 days out of the week the hot water doesn’t work. It’s pointless to put in work orders because they will mark it “complete” without actually doing anything. I’ve put in work orders in the past for pest control, and sign the paper about COVID so they can come in but no one actually comes.

2019-11-06I was an international Student at UCR and used to live at this place. Had to pay a deposit (1 and a half month rent) and received my money 3 months after I moved out and 100 Emails I had with the staff. I was always comforted that my money was on the way which was not the case. Because I only stayed 3 months and my contract was longer I have to sum up $ 250 for the acquisition.. I lived in a few countries but never experienced something like this. Office Staff are not very friendly and helpful (except the janitors who were very nice and helpful) Pool area is not really nice and the Gym is very small. All in all I would not recommend this place for the price of 745$ per months. Then I would rather pay 100 more and live at Highlander at North Campus.

2020-01-31I have been a resident here for now 3 years and I have had a very positive experience living here. The proximity to campus and to local businesses make it ideal for student housing. I also think the price is very reasonable for all the amenities included with the lease. The staff is very helpful and any issue that does arise is dealt with promptly and effectively. It has been a pleasure living here.
