You received the right thing.Me: ok, but what you gave me was not beef, it’s pork.Lady: no it’s beef.Me: thanks for listeningI know and support Kwok’s, I have eaten there for well over a decade. But if that was indeed beef , it was cooked so long ago, so horribly wrong, that it became pork- the same meat that was used in the combo fried rice in the same order. The dish was just bad- a throw away, too scary to eat. I’m not going to give up on this restaurant but that was inedible with bad customer service to top it off.
I have always enjoyed their food, however today the customer service was off. I made an online order and when I hadnt received a call back after 20 min, the lady said she was not opening for 30 mins and I could pick up the food in 45 mins. I had no time to wait, so immediately canceled the order immediately, I spoke directly to the same lady. Like 2 hours later she called to say order is ready, I told her I canceled, she yelled at me. It was rude.
The Chinese restaurant is not fresh and dirty. Be careful not to eat poisoned food in this restaurant. Its best not to eat the fried food. The oil is black and black! Carefully carcinogenic? This restaurant for decades! Advise everyone to be careful not to go to prevent the disease! There are also front desk attendants who are in their 50s. Service is poor. The dish is warm and not hot! Very poor service! Special characters tell everyone. Attention please
Consistently great food. Easy online ordering for quick pick up. We enjoyed Kwoks for 30 years. The seafood soup is full of calamari, shrimp and scallops. Um, yum. White velvet chicken and Mongolian beef are favorites. Go eat Chinese :-)
We have gone here for over 7 years! We know the owners and love the food! We like best the chicken dishes (cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken), and the noodle dishes (Hong Kong style). Would highly recommend to anyone!
Come ready to be served a good amount of any entree on the menu. We had the Mandarin special for two; we had to take home 1/3 after we had eaten more than enough. Friendly fast service and fair prices. Do not be an epicurean.
The food was really tasty! I moved to watsonville from San Jose, earlier this year, and I was bummed that I couldnt get decent Asian food. Now Ive found it. I will definitely be eating there often.
Do you go here for the food? NO. I go here because it has the nicest people who work there. Theres this one waiter who used to be soooo sweet to my 13 year old when she was 2 and 3 and 4 and would have temper tantrums. He still says, Its the Baby! when we come in. Hes a sweetheart. Worst food i have ever had. The orange chicken was old like had been frozen and microwaved. It was tough stringy and not fresh. I was not allowed to order certain foods as a meal unless i ordered a share size entree. The chicken fried rice had no flavor nor was it fried. The rice had little slivers of carrots mixed with steamed rice.
My family and I have always gone to Uncle Kwoks, since I can remember. I like to order the sizzling rice soup, and I love the chicken base they use, instead of the tomato base! Peacefully quiet restaurant. Enjoy!
We have never been more disappointed. Weve gone to Uncle Kwoks for years but havent ordered from them recently. Spent 70+ bucks for tonights dinner and it all just went into the garbage can!!!! Horrible doesnt even describe it. The Pork Fried Rice had no flavor and doesnt even look like it hit a wok! The Egg Rolls were mostly cabbage, greasy and flavorless as well. The Pot stickers we tough and greasy. The Hong Kong noodle dish was just downright disgusting! Tough, chewy mushrooms, shrimp that hadnt been deveined, over cooked pork spareribs, under cooked pasty beef in the Beef and Broccoli and an underlying nasty flavor. All in all it was greasy, tasteless, slimy, tough, under cooked and completely disappointing. Basically, we just threw $70.00 in the trash and ordered from Golden China in Watsonville. Uncle Kwoks........youre not what you used to be and lost our business.
My family does not live in Santa Cruz, but it is a big hit with family members who do, as a result of which we often end up at Uncle Kwoks whenever we visit SC. Good food, LOTS of food so go with an empty stomach. The service is personal and friendly and the prices are reasonable.
I love this place! The food is good, the service is fast and friendly, and the dinner waiter is a hoot. Always teases us, makes our meal fun.
A hidden gem in the corner of a hidden plaza. We always eat rhe orange chicken or sesame chicken. So good! And a lovely staff. Place is really authentic and has good service. I would rexonnend to anyone that is wanting chinese in rhe area
Is the go-to for the wife and I for Saturday night dates, going to the Aptos Twin next-door. Unfortunately the theater closed but its still our meet-after-work for a quick dinner and decompression. The broccoli beef is a favorite along with chicken mushu. Always friendly staff.
Best Chinese food in Aptos! The sesame chicken is fantastic and the potstickers are unlike any I’ve ever had, I think it’s the ginger, delicious.

When the food is good it is awesome. They are not consistent though with the food quality. For every two experiences usually the third is not very pleasant
It’s just terrible. The food isn’t anything close to authentic, everything is drenched in sauce, you’ll leave wishing you had gone somewhere else. There’s much better Chinese food in Aptos.
Best comfort food!! I recommend the sweet and sour chicken or the honey walnut prawns. Their lunch specials are good and at a good price too.
Uncle kwoks is the best in town, theyre quick, and delicious, and the staff is always so friendly. Ill drive clear across town from the westside just for Uncle kwoks.

2022-04-16I wasnt impressed...Their online menu doesnt really tell their hours.The first time I showed up it was a Saturday at about 1:30... there was no sign of life .. however they had set up a pick-up window. I made a call and was told they were on lunch break until sometime after 4. I did go back... and the portions were big - our normal order of one dish each with an added rice and/or soup was over the top...the two of us had leftovers for two days.It was good food...however I have had better! No eat in experience... they are still on COVID protocols.I would go again if this was what I was looking for.Thanks.

2021-07-21I ordered the black bean chicken lunch special. I asked for fried rice and received white. The hot and sour soup wasnt hot or sour. It just tasted chicken broth. Also the egg roll was soggy and burned on one end. The black bean chicken and rice were the only edible food I received. I usually dont leave reviews but, this way just a poor example of what Chinese food is supposed to taste and look like.

2022-08-15Ive only had their Kung poa tofu lunch special but it is so good! lots of flavor. definitely my go to lunch spot now. for $10.75 you get fried rice, soup, an egg roll and an entree: what a deal!!!! The owners are so nice and will make you feel welcomed!

2019-08-23Looking for great Chinese food? Look elsewhere.There is NO WAY the chicken used in my dish was made fresh today. NO WAY. It was dried out, tough and tasted like they had microwaved it, then tossed it in a pan to fry it.And for the prices? Wow. 17.15 for a single general chicken dinner. Yeah. Absurd.I cannot for the life of me understand the other reviewers.Horrible dish. Horrible.Soup and egg roll were just okay. There’s your one star for that.

2021-07-20None of the food is fresh. Sweet and sour chicken was 2 day old breading with wayyy overcooked and multple times. Fried rice is just rice with 3 pieces of old chicken. The sweet and sour chicken (breading no chicken) tastes a little like buffalo wing sauce which was odd too. Chowmein tasted off. Like it had been spiked with something dark. Im not sure but I will never eat here again. 35.00 plus tip on takeout in the trash.

2018-12-07Very disappointed. I feel bad giving just one star because the food was delivered so idk maybe their service is really good... But the food was awful. The chicken was inedible so dry and stringy. The mandarin spareribs were coated in breading so you had to be extra careful eating it. The appetizer sampler was weird. The shrimp was pounded out to the thickness of a piece of paper. The chicken fried rice was decent but made with dark chicken that looked grey, but was at least edible. I bit down on a tiny piece of bone in the spareribs so I stopped before I chipped a tooth. Why is it so hard to find decent Chinese food in the area??

2020-07-16Their food is very delicious. They have a wide variety of food to choose. Lunch specials before 3pm are really reasonable price. I recommend eating Uncle Kwoks food. Sometimes if you call ahead for food around 4:30pm until 5pm ittakes a little while to get food. Like 20 minutes if you like to wait. Other than that Id give it a five star if the wait wasent so long.
