Made a costly mistake , find out late , arrive 5 minutes before they close, was expecting some rough customer service but to my surprise , out appeared a happy , friendly individual who went above and beyond to assist me in fixing my problem, ultimately resulting in the best outcome possible. Took over an hour to fill one propane tank, service was terrible and this particular person was not polite. I would recommend the location off el camino.
Everyone here needs to be fired, especially TYLER, I had a 1pm appt for a hitch installment and I arrived at 12:45pm to check in and he had an absolute attitude, stating he couldnt do the installment and if I could come back the next day because the installment time was the same as his lunch hour. And then his colleagues tried to back his excuse up to only be shut down by the fact that the time was scheduled by the availability that was listed. Not my fault they are irresponsible with their time that they dont plan schedule times accordingly with their lunch hours. It is not the customers fault or responsibility. Id give no stars if I could. Horrible experience glad to never have to return there.BTW IT ONLY TOOK 15 MINUTES TO INSTALL.
Called me an hour before I was supposed to pick up the van saying it hasn’t been turned in yet and that I would need to wait 2 hours for it to be ready. When I get there the employee says my vehicle isn’t a one way vehicle and that I would need to return it when I’m done. I made a reservation for a one way vehicle on purpose, I was moving from rocklin to Berkeley and it wouldn’t make sense to drive the van back. The man was arguing with me saying that I had made an impossible reservation, why would it let me make the reservation online if it wasn’t possible? All it took was his manager coming out and saying “oh yeah that’s fine” and he finally agreed to let me do a one way move. After saying I was guaranteed a van at 4pm I get there and the person with the van still hasn’t turned it in. When the woman finally gets there to turn it in I overhear her say she didn’t put any gas in, so the employee gave her $25 gas credit to “speed things up” since I had already been waiting. Why is she getting a discount for not turning in equipment on time and putting gas in like she was supposed to? After she left it was 5:40, I was finally getting the keys and the employee said the tank is 11/16 full so you won’t need to stop for gas. I get in the van and it’s at 4/16. On top of leaving the uhaul place at 5:40 when it was originally supposed to be 2:30 I had to stop for gas too, spending even more time and money.
Best customer service and very friendly staff. They are not like others just out there to make money, but they helped me save money and get most of work done.
Went to get propane refill. Probably picked the best time, about 8 in the morning. No wait and refill is quick. Gentleman was very polite and professional. Have been here once before awhile ago for same purpose. Would definitely go there again and recommend them. Propane price I thought was very reasonable.
Reserved a large utility trailer. Picked it up saturday morning and was helped by cooper who was both courteous and professional.He Helped me get the trailer hitched up and was very knowledgeable regarding his.

We came to rent a cargo van and had reserved online. However, we realized the cargo van was a 2 seater and we completely missed that( we assumed it was a 3 seater). Cooper, the associate who helped us not only suggested but also helped us reserve from another place that best our needs. He was patient and very helpful! Thanks Cooper.

We came in to get a trailer gitch put on car as i walked in i tripped on jackstand propping door open but way was postioned wasnt able to be seen from outside when i told the employee he said we use it to prop the door open without thinking about other possible objects to use to prop the door open they were very curtious especially since they werent expecting us because someone rescheduled our appointment without contacting us
Armando was a very genuine individual and it was great doing business with him! Not only was he very flexible with me he was extremely catering when it came to unforeseen obstacles I was trying to push through, throughout the entire process. I 10/10 would recommend doing business with him!

I was waiting for 30+ minutes for a propane tank fill-up. They said I had to be patient and wait but there was no other customers so I just grabbed my tank and left.

I had to be to work in an hour and a half last year and Jaime got both my hitch and wiring done within the 35-40 minutes. Hes the most reliable person I know for hitches and wiring!
Process could not have been any easier. I reserved a trailer and checked in online. In total I probably spent less than 20 minutes at the facility including hooking up, checking lights, and dropping off. Great experience.

Worst customer service ever. I reserved a truck and it wasnt there. Then they tried to put me in a smaller truck that would have required more trips and didnt compensate for the extra miles that I would have to put on it. I went to a competitor who hooked me up without a reservation. I will never use u haul again.
Recommend not go to store . Because they very rip off at my repair for hitch car cost high expensive ! Service customer names - Jeffery and Jamie very shame and lame they not care about it dont want help us . Very not cool! They make us make cost gain twice ! We never again go it!
Everyone was great. Check in was swift even though there were four people waiting. Drop off was simple and quick even though there were three trucks waiting. Overall for a Saturday moving day - good day.
It is the worst u haul i have ever been, rude people, bad customer service they change my truck 3 times and at the end they gave me the car which was not working and the boss guy said it non of our business, just dont go on this u haul place
Other posters are correct and this place is always understaffed. However Ive never had a rude experience Ive always been treated courteously. The one thing that really bring a step my review down to just two stars is that the storage place is only open until 5 p.m. on Sundays and the other days of the week arent much better. The gate hours are completely outside of the norm of other storage places and if you want to be able to get to your stuff outside of those very limited hours you have to pay extra. At other stores places the gates are open for later and you dont have to pay extra to get to your stuff. So these hours are b******* and I wish I had not stored my things at this place.
This location is not people friendly they evicted me before I could even get my things moved in on an old case that they say was a stolen truck but was not they had my rental towed because I was running late on the return .I talked to a manager that day and she said to drop it off soon as I was done unloading, but since the manager of cube smart citrus heights had a beef with me he tried to say the truck was stolen and called the police on me next thing I know four cop cars pull up and took all info from me and said legally the truck can not be considered stolen for seven days of no contact so they left and 30 minutes later a tow truck shows up fr uhaul saying they were to pick up stolen truck but I had the keys and rental agreement in hand ,but he took it anyway so I believe that they stole my furnishings and belongings from me

We reserved for 2 days over the 800 number. Came to pick-up said we could only have the trailer until 10am the next am?! Not even 24hrs. Had to go to another location to get another trailer for 2 days.
There is only 1 star because I cant leave zero. My boyfriend and I just tried to get our propane tank refilled. After 15min someone said theyd be right with him. Then, after a few minutes someone delivered the staff Starbucks. It was clear why there was a long wait and horrible reviews. Literally 1 girl was doing all the work while 4 others were hanging out in the break room. A man came out, acknowledged my boyfriend and another customer, asked them if they had been helped and instead of helping them he said someone would be right with them. We ended up at Arco on Greenback and Auburn, in and out WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS AND PROPANE in under 5min.

I believe the guys name was Trent I spoke with very rude very unprofessional all I wanted to know is if a vehicle was in stock to rent in a price he sat there and interviewed me for 30 minutes ask me every question in the world all I wanted to know if it was available so I wouldnt waste my time he was extremely rude would not let me speak to a manager and very unprofessional. He should not be working in sales at all or maybe as a car dealer would be best suited very sad that you get this lack of professionalism from a quote big company. Guaranteed we will never bring our company business to U-Haul again

Been trying for 2 hours to get ahold of them everytime i get through i say hello and get hung up on. Very very unproffesional in my books.
CAUTION: woman at propane station overfilled my tank. I questioned putting 6 gallons in a 20 lb tank, but she assured me no problem. Well, back at my RV 4 hours later I smell gas. Sure enough the tank valve is leaking from overpressure. Tried calling UHaul, but put on hold for 40 minutes when no oje answered hung up. Checked with RV dealer and he said immediately disconnect...explosion hazard as well as potentiql damage to appliances. This sounds like UHaul does not train employees on safe handling. Deadly!
I Used it for the free month free storage. Units were on the 2d floor. The elevator broke down with my things inside of it. It was raining so power served. But it took 20 minutes to get someone to turn it back on. Tried to call repeatedly for no one to answer so had to walk in the rain to get someone from inside. Returned 2 months later to retrieve my belongings and lucky us... the elevator was broken so we had to carry everything down 2 flights of stairs!! Was told with a big smile it was going to be a week or two before it was fixed. While bringing my belongings down the stairs the elevator had gotten fixed... but.... they had to take pics and send them to corporate before it could be used. Will never ever use uhaul or there storage ever again!!!
Rented a truck for my daughter on Saturday, 6/17. Extremely fast service in getting us on the road - even while rep was training a new rep! Clean equipment. Return process was just as quick and easy as the checkout. Was also very happy that the radio was already tuned to my favorite station - KLOVE! Bonus points! I will definitely recommend to friends and others for their moving needs and will return myself when the time comes!

Only one guy at the counter, line of about 10 people and the guy wasnt even nice enough to take people in the order they arrived. He let some guy in a Budget truck who must have been a friend of his go first. Bad customer service.
I needed a truck to move and waited to the last minute to get it. Jeffery got me into a truck in about 5 minutes. I had rented a dolly but didnt think it was safe so I didnt use it. Upon returning I informed Jeffery about the dolly strap and he refunded the charge for it. I didnt expect a refund and was pleasantly surprised. I was even returning the truck about 6 hours later than I said I would. Anyway, had a bad night and they made it a a bit better.
Reserved a 26 truck two days before move. Day of move they told me no trucks are available not even a 10 one. Left there disappointed. Will not do business with u-haul anymore.

On a long road trip from California to Idaho, our trailer lights on the left side of the trailer went out. We stopped in to have them look at the trailer. It turned out it was our truck and the connection to the trailer hook behind the bumper. They reseated the connection for us and sent us on our way

2022-05-28Terrible experience. I scheduled an mobile phone pick-up for 5 AM at the Truxel location. U-hual changed it to this Citrus Heights location without notice. Inconvenient, but its probably just based on truck availability. Not the end of the world, but they should have sent me an email or something so i could plan accordingly. Now I have to take an Uber twice as far. When I get an Uber all the way out here, the website oops, now its a regular in person pick-up. You have to wait until they open at 7 AM. When I called Uhaul customer service, they said yeah it looks like this location didnt finish their getting the truck ready on their end. Now Im out here in the cold for 1.5+ hours, spent double money on my Uber ride, and my movers are scheduled already so Im going to lose time/money for that. I wish other moving rental truck companies were available because I dont wish to do business with Uhual ever again.

2022-07-19Very excellent service to install a hitch on my Honda passport. Drop in the morning pick up in the afternoon. The problem is a call center which is confused every time I count them. They have no clue what is going on in the local workshop and they give advice which makes no sense. Im lucky Im living near this workshop and I was able to come in. My car is ready for me and the working staff is very friendly very nice and very pleased to work for you as a customer.

2022-05-14Sells hitch install for $405 rated at 2000lbs tow capacity for my car. After prodding for answer on trailer liability damage to my car then advises against towing thier lowest weight 4x6 846 lb trailer and would Not recommend it for my 2013 prius C nor be responsible for any damages to my car for using it.... attempted to talk me into hitch installation before giving me a answer about a trailer rental or purchase and potential damages to my car towing a weight of under 1000 lbs with thier 2000lb rated hitch. 2021-10-12Over a month after our rental was returned, I was charged a toll fee. We did not pass through any toll roads or bridges with our rental, and the time stamp of the supposed fee was not when we were using the trailer. I followed the instructions in the Uhaul email to dispute the fee and requested more information, wanting to see the bill or photo evidence they were using and where the toll was incurred. I got no response and my credit card was charged anyway. I had to dispute this charge with my credit card company.Another customer also skipped the clear line while we were waiting to return our trailer, and she was helped ahead of those waiting.The one saving grace of this location was the polite and helpful employee during the check-in process, which went smoothly.

2022-01-27I have had a storage unit with this location since 2016 in that time my card has been charged twice without my permission. Recent charge took place this month and no one is taking this situation serious. No one has returned my call or can tell me whats happening. They have had employees fired for embezzlement I would just avoid this location if you can.

2021-05-21Doesnt even rate 1 star. However, I had to rate in order to post. Worst customer experience I have ever had with an organization. I ordered a trailer hitch that was supposed to have been installed on 5/11/2021. A day before the installation they sent me a text saying not to come because the parts didnt arrive. Today is 5/20/21 and still no hitch. I have been trying to reach by phone the location on 4 different occasions since 5/11 to get an idea of when I could expect it to come in. Each time I waited on hold for approximately 15 minutes only to be transferred to the Call Center. The Call Center folks were pretty much useless as they tried and reach out to the store directly to no avail. They just took down my number and tell me I will get a call back. All 4 times no one has called me back. I have wasted almost 30 minutes of my day(Initial 15 minutes plus 15 minutes for the Call Center to see if they could reach the store) each time since the 11th and here I am... Still no response or answers, not even a text or email. I will be going into the store tomorrow to get some answers and I can promise you, this will be the last time I ever use Uhaul. And you can bet, I will be posting all over social media this disgusting experience I have had. I highly recommend you take your business somewhere else.

2021-04-28I made a reservation for a hitch install a week in advance. They waited until 5pm the night before to let me know a part was back ordered. Would not answer the phone or text to let me know if I should come to my appointment. Finally received confirmation after 8 the night before that they found the part but had to change my reservation. We get there early and are told that we will have to wait an hour because the installation tech doesn’t come in until 10:30AM. Then he tries to tell us it’ll be minimum 2 hours. This is absolutely horrible communication on their end. I would highly recommend never to use this location.

2021-06-27Had a VERY bad experience here. First off I would like to say the manger did not give any care in the world to help make things go by better or smoother. By leaving his new employees out high in dry with very bad training on there end. Didn’t know how too hook or unhook a trailer nor when asked for help didn’t received anything. Wasted TWO HOURS just for the tail lights to not to working on the trailer. Kept getting push to the back of the line even though a contract was filled out but other people where put ahead of us, and out before we even had any help outside. Had to go back in multiple times to ask what’s the deal just for them to say we will be right there. Very unprofessional would never recommend and will never see service from us again. Disgusted by how this environment was ran.

2020-11-22I will never come back to this location they are so lazy here and dont have mask on till you walk up to the counter!! Worst part is the vanni rented was so dirty with used napkins to and steering wheel had black oil stuff all over it the radio was cover the van was not clean they do not care about our safety so if you like covid this this is the place for you -50 bucks back for it not being clean they are a joke 👍 dont use them
