Such a great company and service. I dont highly recommend many companies, but Topo Terra is top-notch. Great service, beyond excellent equipment, wonderful communication.If you are looking for the ideal comfortable rigs to get you to the outreaches, these are them.Been back from our trip for about two weeks now and ever since I have been trying to figure out how to carve out time to rent from Topo again.
The guys at Topo Terra were super easy to work with and made the process easy and the overall experience more enjoyable. They were flexible with when I could show up to pick up and drop off the trailer, and they were also more than willing to show me anything and everything I needed to feel comfortable with towing a trailer for the first time. Brandon was especially helpful and I would definitely rent from these guys again.
I recently took my kids on a camping adventure to the desert with the help of Brandon and TopoTerra. Brandon was phenomenal with his knowledge of the vehicles and the local terrains we were headed to. His customer service, communication and accessibility were top notch throughout the process and I felt valued as a customer. Im also now hooked on this type of vehicle and camping!! Great experience renting off-road trucks from Brandon. Our group rented the 4 Runner and the Tacoma and took them out to Borrego. Both vehicles did great in the desert - they had plenty of clearance and handled places like diablo drop without any problem at all, and the tents were easy to use and comfortable. Brandon carefully explained everything to us and the return was easy and quick. Will definitely rent from TopoTerra again in the future.

Brandon was informative, helpful, and prepped us well for a few day in a freshly detailed Toyota Tacoma we rented. We had such a great time with Brandons adventure truck. It made for a perfect weekend getaway in places I would not be able to get with my car. Brandon was extremely thorough with the walk through and great at communicating throughout the process. Looking forward to renting the truck again and trying some of other cool adventure gear!
I rented a Tacoma for a Baja surf trip. The truck was well equipped and in great condition. Brandon was easy to get in touch with, answered all my questions, and made the entire process easy. I will definitely be renting from TopoTerra again!
Great experience with the family! We rented the smittybilt trailer with the rooftop tent and camped on the beach. It was truly an awesome experience and Brandon was great. He helped us from the minute we got there, and showed us every little detail. We had no experience with trailers or rooftop tents, and he showed us how easy it was. They are very professional and very easy going. Would recommend to anyone even without any camping/trailer experience.
I randomly found TopoTerra while looking on Craigslist for anything related to overlanding i.e. vehicle dependent travel/camping. Glad I did! Firstly, you wont be dealing with some corporate zombie when you rent from this company. You will be dealing with Brandon, the owner. Brandon is super responsive and helpful with any question you might have and made sure that my vehicle would be correctly configured to tow one of his trailers. I rented the trailer that had the larger of the tent options and it came with an overlanding fridge, solar power setup with battery bank and many other necessities. Brandon has a large selection of items that you can add on a la cart and I pretty much got everything including a large piece of astroturf to make your campsite the envy of other, less civilized, campers. And, it is all very reasonably priced. TopaTerra vehicle and trailer choices take camping to a whole new level, allowing you to get to places your dads station wagon couldnt dream of going. I was able to camp, off-grid, with power to the fridge full of chilled to the bone food and beer, for four days and still had a nearly full battery at the end due to the included solar panels. Can it get any better than that? No. It cant. Rent from TopoTerra!

Amazing Experience. The truck provided was in excellent condition. Will rent from TopoTerra again. The only hard part is deciding which truck to rent. An alternative way to experience off roading without having to purchase a truck.

2022-06-10After completing a 10 day trip using one of Brandon’s rigs, I can easily say I had nothing short of a phenomenal experience. Brandon was incredibly attentive throughout the entire booking process as well as throughout the trip. Despite a last minute change of rigs due to some damage to the original truck we were supposed to rent, Brandon set us up with an even better equipped truck to make sure we had absolutely everything we needed for our trip around southern CA. When it comes to outfitting his vehicles, Brandon goes all out to make sure his customers have what they need to have a blast wherever they go. The tent on the truck held up in some strong winds throughout the trip and kept us warm during cold nights in Sequoia NP (along with the sleeping bags Brandon provided). I have nothing but good things to say about this company and the way Brandon conducts his business. I will definitely be using TopoTerra again in the future!!

2022-06-10Renting from Topoterra was one of the best adventure experiences we have ever had. We love overlanding and adventure, and the owner Brandon made our trip unforgettable. We rented his Tacoma to travel around the SoCal and Arizona for about two weeks, and we were so pleased with the truck and all the gear that was included. Brandon is a very genuine guy, very kind and extremely accomodating, he made sure that everything was taken care of and we had every single item we could possibly need. He gave a great advice about the trip and kept his truck in a top shape. The adventure business that he built is one of a kind, and there is truly nothing like it on west coast. If you are looking for an ultimate overland adventure experience, Topoterra is the place to go. Brandon offers several amazing rigs for rental, which you wouldnt normally be able to get, as well as vans. He also provides a unique delivery service, e.g you can ask to get the truck or a van delivered to say Baja Mexico and drive it one way back to U.S, its so awesome. I definitely will be renting again.

2021-04-25Stop thinking about it and do it! Brandon is so helpful and the vehicle I rented (4Runner) worked perfectly. It was outfitted with everything you need to rough it, the tent system is easy to use and warm, the vehicle is extremely capable. Brandon is easy to work with, flexible, and knowledgeable - I highly recommend them for your next off highway adventure!

2021-12-19Rented the Tundra for Baja surf trip. We traveled 1,000 miles of beach, mountains and desert. This truck was exceptional! It is perfectly equipped with everything you need and we needed all of it! Everything on the truck is very well maintained. We received many complements along our travels. The owner was very responsive, accommodating, and professional. Looking forward to next time!

2022-03-26If I could give Brandon 6 stars I would. He was super helpful, generously accommodating, and very knowledgeable about greats spots to hit up. The rig we rented was in tiptop shape, was fully kitted-out and worked brilliantly. Our family of three had a fantastic time. Well definitely do it again. Effusive praise well earned.

2021-09-30I had an amazing experience with TopoTerra. They provide amazing camping vehicles that can get you to where you need to go in a comfortable and reliable fashion. The price for what you get is unbeatable. I rented the Tundra for 7 days to take down to Baja CA to watch the Baja 400 and camp. Brandon had thought of everything when it comes to staying safe and getting you out of an emergency. The vehicle and all of the amenities worked flawlessly. Brandon was extremely accommodating, helpful and detailed. I booked the vehicle on very short notice and he was still able to complete all of the necessary paperwork and get the vehicle to me. He was always swift to respond during the trip and was very thorough throughout the entire process. I am planning on renting from him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a campout getaway trip!

We rented his 4Runner and rooftop tent, and slept like kings and queens while getting into the some of the best San Diego County has to offer. Very fun weekend, made easy by Brandon and Topo Terra. 2021-06-14Went to Thomas Mountain (mild off-roading)Like a lot of people the only thing that stopped my family from enjoying the great outdoors the way we wanted to (off the grid). Was a method to get there. TopoTerra gave us not only a method of transportation, but let us enjoy each other while being disconnected. The 2020 Toyota Tundra that we rented was as advertised on the website. It came with ample storage, ample sleeping capacity (4 Im a big guy and the tent held me, my wife, and our 11 year old daughter. with our 14 year old son in the camper shell with the family dog). The truck came with a hood mounted solar panel that kept the fridge/freezer charged (just make sure that the truck is in the sun during the day). The fridge is mounted a little bit awkwardly, but there has to be some trade offs for the convenience that the fridge offers. The price was very reasonable when you think about what are getting too much to type. Brandon was very accommodating and even through in a small air mattress for my son who slept in the camper shell. I have so much more but i dont want to boar anyone. If you have any questions just leave a comment an I will give you my honest opinion. I look forward to many more excursions using TopoTerra.
