I took my wife and our friends to Tony’s sandwiches are fantastic , The service is impeccable, very friendly and very helpful and super cool. Every sandwich was made to order and exactly how we wanted them, The sides were also very good… We drove from Riverside which is approximately 40 miles one way (that is how good the food is) I would suggest anybody who would enjoy a fantastic sandwich and tons of meat visit this location
Best deli in Anaheim bar-none. Hometown atmosphere with friendly service and incredibly fast preparation of their amazing and fresh sandwiches. TVS, beers, and plenty of seating. Trying to watch your carbs, ask for your sandwich to be lettuce wrapped. Multi-diet options available.
Awesome place for an authentic deli sandwich or cold tap beer. The owner Billy is a superb host and his staff as well.Adorned with historical photos and unique antiques, there is a great deal of charm here served with good food.

Great vibe! Felt like being in New Jersey. Classic rock playing, rugged 1950s decor, sports on the TVs, long bar with the traditional stools. Very efficient. Its clear where and how to order, you pick a table, food comes (quickly!), they bring you stuff to wrap your food and your bill when youre slowing down, and you go to the counter to pay. Giant sandwiches and bomb sides. I had the chili, my dude had the potato salad. Both were delicious. I had the Italian sandwich. It was everything Id been craving. He had the Werner. You can see from the pic it was an absolute meat fest. Friendly service and an atmosphere that makes you feel like a regular right away.
Its just beer and sandwiches. I had on of the sandwiches recommended by the staff since it was my first time here. The sandwich had a lot of meat but it was folded in a big clump all together. No flavor. Meat, bread, cheese mayo and mustard. Some vinegar and oil on the veggies would have made a huge difference. I got the macaroni salad. It lacked flavor and was runny. I added salt and pepper to that repeatedly but it didnt help. All in all, it was mediocre. I think people think if they load up on meat that makes a sandwich, well that one aspect, not the entire. They brought me a cookie at the end of my meal. I noticed the open exposed tray of cookies earlier...im wondering if the flies did too. I asked for the check but waited longer than expected. I wont be back. 15 min later...Im still waiting for my check.
Nice deli/sode/bar shop in anaheim! Great service and very accomodating. They had a full staff for lunch time and were very attentive to our team during our weekly lunch! Great selection of hard to find soda pop and delicious deli meats and sandwiches. We got some italian subs with pickled eggs on the side. Would recommend to check them out when in Anaheim! They also have indoor/outdoor seating

Read an article in OC register about the Deli. Same owner as Roscoes and Heroes in Fullerton. I really like those places. There are many sandwich options but I wanted a grilled hot sandwich with melted cheese. The quality of meat was good. No hot fries available. Chili had too many beans. There was macaroni and potato salad sides. Cole slaw and fruit. Lots of soda bottle options too. This wasnt a full service restaurant like Heroes.
Im from New York, home of, in my opinion, the best delis on Earth. This is THE BEST deli Ive eaten at in LA, hands down. Delicious, fresh sandwiches, amazing sides, fast service, beer, and a super nice staff. This is definitely a straight 10/10. Come eat here ASAP.

Doesnt look like much, from the outside it looks smaller.I stopped in for the first time today for lunch. Its kind of expensive for s quick lunch. Nothing under 10 bucks. I decided on the tuna sandwich. I love a good tuna sandwich. It comes with cheddar I got swiss instead. It was pretty simple, lettuce, tomato, cheese, on thick cut sourdough bread.It was pretty damn good though. The bread is just the right density for a tuna sandwich (Thats super important). It was really big, so it was kinda hard to wrap my mouth around. But I managed lol.The place has a cool atmosphere, i love the red plad table clothes. Goes really well with the woodin the room, very warm and kinda cozy. All in all I liked it a lot. Employees were suped nice too.I noticed a hotdog on the menu for 10 bucks. I wonder what a 10 dollar hotdog is like. B)

Went there today for takeout lunch. The sandwiches here are outstanding. Talk about big. These things are frickin huge. The sides are great too. Had the chili which had a slight kick to it. Just right. I highly recommend. Have seating in the back parking lot too.

I have been coming here for years and they are still just as good as when I first tried it out. Originally found Tonys because my father-in-law loves their pastrami and it definitely is everything he said it was. Current favorite sandwich choice: the Boulevard. All the greatest cuts of meat, fresh bread, and amazing sides elevate these sandwiches to regular rotation status very quickly.P.S. definitely get the coleslaw or the chili with an extra pickle for your side.
I should have tried this spot a long time ago. Born in the 70s and raised in Anaheim, Ive passed by Tonys Deli millions of times and actually walked inside for the 1st time today. The waitress greeted us with a smile. The food was delicious. I really loved the potato salad. I will definitely be back again. 2 thumbs up!!!
Great sandwiches (my new fave is the Cubana), cool old timey ambiance. No fifth star because they ran out of all but 3 taps - only IPAs were left, no real beer.
We love this place! Sandwiches are huge and delicious. So much meat! Service it great too. My favorites are the corned beef and the pastrami. Veggie is also tasty for when you want something lighter.
35 Thumbs Up! Had a last minute request late Wednesday afternoon to help support training at a local hospital. Needed sandwiches & chips for 35 hospital workers early the next morning. Decided to give Tonys a call to see if they could possibly help save the day. Tonys can you help? No Problem! Gave them my order and they had everything packed up and ready in boxes at 9:30am! and they dont even officially open until 10:00am! EVERYONE LOVED THE SANDWICHES (Big Mikey, Fender, TBA, Daves, Italian, Tuna, and Vegetarian... which by the way are HUGE..)! BIG THANKS to all at Tonys! Definitely our go to place from here on out!
I frequented Tonys for many years under the original owners, the food was and is as good as always. The new owner is friendly and we had much in common. Id drive many miles just for their wonderful potato salad. All their sandwiches are fantastic, go hungry!
Its been more than 40 years since I started going here. I knew the original Tony before he went back east. Its been a true blessing that the current owners have maintained the deli largely in its original form and substance. Our race shop was nearby and countless famous racers have eaten here through the years. Is it the same? Or better, whats changed? They tamed down the potato salad a bunch, but the sandwiches are as good as they were in 1980. Generous helping, excellent service. Its a real hoot to hear Americans make comments about bread. This is about as good as you can get without having to go to 2nd Ave. in NYC.
Amazing place ..its like walking in to a small local dive bar looking around and BAM! Its own little Deli. Perfect to have with a Brew or just with one of their Classic Glass bottled Natural Sugar Soda Pops! Might I add, their Sandwiches are unbelievable! See for yourself, the staff is friendly. This place is awesome! Its small and has a mountain lodge atmosphere. Whenever I visit I get The Boulevard sandwich with a side of potato salad. Its a winning combination. The meat is piled high, and its enough to either share or take half home. They have a bar, but I havent ordered drinks to comment on their selection, but they do have a lot of fun bottled soda that you canf find in many places. The staff is courteous and attentive, even when there is only one server on the floor, taking care of both the floor and the bar. If youre in the area, stop on in. Youll have zero regrets.

Cant tell you enough about this place! The manager was as pleasant as can be. The staff overall was very attentive and courteous. The portion were tremendous and worth the price! Got to say , the food was excellent as well as my overall experience. This is a great place to hang out after work and evenings for some drinks and good conversation!
Delicious giant sandwiches. The location is funky and fun. The ordering procedure is a little different. You go up to the counter and order your food. You go and pick a table, sit down and your food will come to you and theyll bring your receipt. You can then plop your money down and theyll come and cash you out.On Fridays they have great fresh baked cookies. So delicious!

Great food, great wait staff, everyone is friendly, and a little over $10 per meal. I couldnt eat but half of my sandwhich due to generous portion size, and i got the outstanding chili as my side. This was my second visit, and it was as great as the first time. Consistently good.

Delicious food, large portions.The inside is comfortable, like a neighborhood bar but definitely not a dive bar. They have a large bottled rootbeer selection to choose from which my 10 year old loves. The staff is really nice too. Skip Subway and treat yourself to a real Sandwich.
Pastrami is the bomb so is the macaroni salad. Potato salad is to dry wouldnt recommend it. They have indoor and outdoor dining.
For those lucky enough to live in Anaheim and to have had Tonys in Anaheim for many many years and I have to say that in all these years that Ive been going to Tonys I have had sample many different sandwiches over my time frame I have moved Anaheim when I was 3 years old and other than leaving Anaheim to go into the army a lot of things changed when I got back I remember I was in my mid-20s started to work locally around Anaheim Boulevard and La Palma there used to be a print shop there I remember the owner and the employees there were amazing to work with and they loved Tonys so first day on the job lunchtime came we all went to Tonys and Ive been going ever since and somehow no matter what I had there for lunch the food the employees where are the nicest that anybody could ask for and the food when you eat there for the very first time I guarantee you you will never forget that experience or the flavors the freshness and what overwhelmed your taste buds you knew right away first thing that comes to your mind definitely going to come back here second youre going to tell somebody about it nobody will believe what youre going to say about the food and the place until theyve had it once themselves as for me somehow Ive settled on the sheep herder sandwich just a name sheep herder to me it means the Gathering of meat especially if you just cant pick a sandwich because you like this meat or that meat the variety that is in this sandwich is why I choose it because I can never make up my mind but Ill tell you youre going to have to learn one technique when you eat there and thats unlocking your jaw bone just to take a bite out of that sandwich because it is one big sandwich It will never leave you hungry only satisfied just like anything you eat there so much to choose and I cant say enough about all the different specialty sodas they have compliment that sandwich or even a beer I challenge Anyone who reads this review yes there is the packing house but theres no place like Tonys there except when youre at Tonys the only similarities to the packing house will be the name given to you when you take a bite out of that sandwich you will be the packing house trying to pack that much meat in your first bite so who is up to take that challenge if youve never been there Anaheim and Ive always wanted and heard about the packing house well I promise you if you dare to hold off and stop in at Tonys with the hunger in your belly and a hunger for a good time you will find it there and you will be hooked just like I have been 2 go whenever the the brain will override the stomach saying yes I know youre hungry and you can eat anything but its well worth the drive if you dont live in Anaheim a lot of places that everyone knows its not a close Drive but it is well worth it and I can tell you this no one who reads this review takes my challenge will regret the decision to come to a place you may have never been or heard of but you wont be talking about it hey everyone who will listen my name is Pete and I would love anyone who goes and text me up on that challenge when you write your review all I need is thanks Pete you were spot-on
Great sandwiches! Large portions, my wife and I usually split them if we can settle on something. Lots of choices for craft beers and cream sodas. Its usually pretty quiet there too except for when they have live music.

Had the BLVD. sandwich, pastrami, corned beef and swiss. Big and yummy. Split it with my date. Also had the potato salad. Very good also. Had dill seed on it which was a little different but I really liked it. Was there for lunch. After 5:00PM they have apps that sounded delicious and also live music Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Will go again if Im in the area.
Really cool vibe with a live band and the food is delicious. The Pastrami sandwich was amazing and the Corned Beef in the Rueben was perfect. I was pleasantly surprised by the Chili. It had a smoky cajun flavor with a ton of bite. I love this place.

The food here was scrumptious. I had the Sheepherder. Pastrami, Turkey, corned beef piles high with Russian dressing. Oh Man! This is making my mouth water again as I write this. Very friendly staff and they are on constant alert to my needs. Refills, napkins and doggie bags. I will be back soon with new faces Mark my words.
This Old school deli, what can I say, its de bomb...I mean the sandwiches are stacked with 3 of meat. Theres outside seating as well. Very old school sans sawdust😊

We are locals in anaheim and Tonys Deli is our favorite sandwich/bar in town. We had the worst experience tonight. Bartender was super rude! At the time of charging she was purposely cleaning and taking her time to cash us out after we had requested to be cashed out like 2. She has short hair and nose piercing. It was 5 of us at the bar with individual checks. We always leave a good tip. But today she didnt deserve a good tip due to poor service and being rude. She added the Tip on our receipt and charged all of us with the tip without our concent. When we asked her about it she said it was a California Law and we said no its not. Its our desicion to leave a tip based on your service and she said well dont come back if you dont like it. #RUDE

Worked in Anaheim over 30 years ago and used to go for lunch-had to get there before 12 noon or stand in line that would go out the back door. Would leave work at 11:30 so to avoid the long line. Great food and the people were super! Still make the drive from Ontario to have a great sandwich and a slice of dill pickle.

Giant sandwiches! Hot food menu is only after 5pm. Annual St. Patricks Day corned beef and cabbage is really good! Its a bar and its loud.
Ok so had my buddy go by today since after calling found out they just opened. Order my old favorite the Virginian with double potato. They now have two potato salads and if you want the original you have to ask for Tonys potato. Is the Virginian the same? No it has different pastrami and not the same amount and the turkey seems different and they put too much on. Also the Russian dressing is not the original. So is this a Virginian? No this is a Heros / Roscoes where as usual they put too much meat on the sandwich. As to the Potato not really. This has too much pepper and eggs compared to the original Tonys potato. For 20 years I always enjoyed the feeling I had when the taste of a Virginian came to mind and I would make that drive to get one with that amazing potato salad and after how I would feel having eaten the whole thing. Today that feeling is gone since I am just getting a Heros / Roscoes sandwich which I never did in the first place.

Tonys deli always the go to spot if your craving a fresh handmade sandwich piled sky high with a fresh pickle and your choice of a side (chili w/ cheese and purple onion, mac salad, potato salad, or fresh fruit) they now serve breakfast on the weekends starting at 9:30am. I had it once the morning after breakfast burrito was packed with bacon, bell pepper, egg, cheese, and salsa on the side. Live music on friday and saturday is also a plus for those going on date nights or want some extra fun!!!! Would for sure recommend!!!!

A block south of the Anaheim packing district, Little hole in the wall between a used car dealer and a tire shop. Tonys Original Deli and Bottle Shop is a cozy, friendly, Deli with delicious sandwiches and chili dogs. A best kept secret of Anaheim locals. A selection of Sodas, wine and beer complement the good food. Their amazing (mashed style) potato salad, and egg salad are two of Karen`s favorites. And of course I am a chili dog man. Oh and yes, they do have meatballs. Their taps also feature select brews from Anaheim Brewing company.

Restaurant has MAJOR health code violations if you search them on OC Department of Health website and past due on inspections. The employees also do not wear face mask coverings or gloves. There is no social distancing at tables or the bar. They proudly display a sign saying they dont wear masks. So, please, go here if you want to catch Covid-19.

Horrible customer service bartender got mad because she proured wrong beer and gave attitude the rest of the night and charged gratuity saying it was state law for large partys thats new information because I didnt know sitting at the bar you were considered a party or that a bartender was considered a server.

When I came to Orange County...ALWAYS HAD TO STOP BY..VERY DISAPPOINTED TONY Original potato salad NOT THE SAME OR THE VIRGINAN SANDWICH ( the best) no longer since the reopen...we didnt even finish our lunch..left very disappointed 😢

2022-07-04Saw this place advertised at Roscoes and decided to try it. The sandwiches are great. Ive tried the Italian Job and The Pastrami Sandwich both were great. The sides were why I came in today. My wife loves the coleslaw and Im a huge fan of their potato salad. I came in to buy a large side of both for the 4th of July BBQ were having. They both will go great with our dinner. The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. The owner is there and a really great person. I like the atmosphere and the food is great, what more can you ask for?

2022-04-30Tonys Deli is a cozy little shop with sandwiches that are on extra large size! You can split one with your gal or if your super hungry you can fill your appetite like a boss! The sandwich came with a crisp dill pickle and a side of your choice (I got the potato salad -delicious).They have a nice bar that serves alcohol and some nice craft beer choices on draft. With plenty of sports on TVs to entertain.

2022-03-21We were in town for a tournament and didnt want fast food. So we looked up the local spots and found this gem of a place! The sandwiches were delicious! The staff made you feel at home and the decor keeps you looking everywhere! We felt like little kids pointing at every little item as if worried we would miss something. We had the Anaheim Sub with potato salad. Loved every bite! This spot is definitely on the list for our future visits. And thank you Tonys for letting us visitors feel welcomed!

2021-10-26Big ol fat Reuben sandwich with a mountain of corned beef. Like the size of a giant meatball. The rye was delicious and sharp, it really gets into your taste buds. The cheese had a nice, pleasantly pungent taste. All around good food. The bar was swank, everything was well appointed and the decor is done in a classy style of stuff all over the walls. Very comparable to Hollingsheads Delicatessen. I couldnt finish the sandwich, and the corned beef was excellent the next day slathered in deli mustard with another pickle on the side. Try the pickled eggs. They are packed in the right amount of too much yellow chili peppers. Oh, and there is the face of a ghost floating just below sign outside.

2021-09-22Delicious. This place is a must see, must visit if you find yourself in the area. Good (local) beer and great sandwiches. The hot sandwiches are pilled high so bring an appetite. Area beer is always a plus in my book. 5 for sure.

2021-07-09Ive been wanting to come here for months. Finally just decided to come and check it out. Very happy that I decided to come. The outside looks small but inside is much bigger than I thought. Has sort of an Irish pub feel, staff was very welcoming and friendly. I order the Boulevard Sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. HEALTHY amount of meat, tasted fresh, bread was soft and of course who doesnt love Russian dressing. Can wait to come back to try more.. but I will definitely be back for more!

2020-09-30Came to Orange County for work and was in the mood for a pastrami sandwich. I sure came to the right place a sandwich & beer was just what I needed but best of all the girl that was tending bar she was so nice and friendly and super helpful I wish I got her name. The rest of the staff was great too! This was the first time since Covid I ate indoors. The only trouble I had was trying to figure out how to eat my sandwich it was so BIG! 🤣
