Awesome rooms, very clean, the staff is great. Location is nice, close to food, the lake, and not far from Calaveras Big Trees State Park (Home of the Giant Sequoias). A must stay if you can.
We were in Arnold for a wedding at the Sequoia Lodge in Blue Lake Springs. Everyone was coming in from different cities. Stayed at the Timberline Lodge and it was wonderful. Bed was comfy with a big reading chair in the room as well as a frig to keep drinks cold. In the mornings we sat out in the sunshine on the corner which has been made into a little park and visited with other guests attending the wedding. Very cozy and clean and fit every need with a store across the street providing hot coffee or whatever food and beverages you wanted.
Loved this place, super nice folks. Clean cabin style room. Gas fireplace was charming. Right on the main road so there is some traffic noise. Wish we could stay longer. Love this area.
Clean room but we found hair in our bed 🤮 clean it up and we will visit more often. $150 for 1 night , you would expect the bed to be fresh and clean.
My dream was to be able to stay living in Arnold in as things went I wasnt able to. My heart is broke. I would give anything to have somebody somehow help me find a place to live. I am disabled. But Im sure doesnt seem like anybody can help me so. Im stuck here and rotten state of New York. Just want to come home. But the place seemed fairly nice, although I never did stay there but the Aesthetics of the place for very nice.
Nice place located right before Big Tree State Park, right in Arnold and about 15 min from Murphys. Staff was friendly and accommodating. AC was quite noisy at times but overall no real issues. Nice cheap lodging option, would come back here again.
What an awesome mountain retreat! Located close to Bear Valley Mountain & right down the road from all your local conveniences! If your going on a Snowboarding/Skiing trip, this place is a must to checkout. My experience was amazing & will definetely be the same for you! Thank you for the hospitality & awesome vibes!

I am a Hilton Diamond member on a business trip in Californias beautiful mountains. I thought all I could find for lodging was going to be motels but I was wrong. This hotel was amazing, very confortable, cozy, and very well kept. I highly recommend it.
Friendly folks and nice rooms. Kinda dated but with charm. Easy walk to just about anything in town. Ive stayed here several times.

2022-01-12I would leave 0 stars if I could. Our room was not ready at 3 and the lodge was out of power. When you cant meet basic needs like power and a room at check-in time, there should be an automatic option to cancel without penalty. My daughter has severe Autism and even if we were ok camping out at the loge with no power, she would not have been able to handle it. The owner had zero heart and scoffed at us. She was also super rude about our service dog (who is a real service dog, trained, with her vest and everything). She was going to charge us for the service dog until I pointed out that it is illegal to do so. They are just rude and unethical. I would not waste my money on this lodge. We turned right around. I have stayed twice before and each time the service gets worse. This lady needs to retire and move on.

2022-01-16This place was really cute we paid $200 for their 2 bedroom 3 beds. It had 2 toilet little rooms, 2 shower rooms, and two sinks. The room with with the bed/livingroom doesnt have a heater but if you leave the room door open the heater reaches the living room. The room was clean Ive slept in better sheets for that amount of money but also theres not many hotels out in that area so I understand the prices are a bit higher. The only reason its not a 5 star is because wifi was not working and the code the front lady gave me didnt work even though she swore thats the one she was using and kept insisting it was me who was doing it wrong. I explained i could see the numbers i was typing and all she said was well im typing the same thing and its working for me just fine. The thing is wifi is very important to me because its the only way to communicate with my mother who wanted to see if we were safe since there is like 0 connection on phones up in that area. Also the parking was super tiny and close to the street for that room and it was tricky getting in and out the car with my babies just hoping the didnt get too close to the street and get hit by a car.

2019-11-01Because of the high wind danger there was no electricity in Arnold, CA for 2 of the 3 nights we were there. But the rooms were warmed with gas heaters and hot water was plentiful. The rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. They did a great job of maintaining good service during a trying time. Second visit there and we will be back.

2016-05-25The place is clean, but a bit rugged, which is what one should expect for a small mountain town. The price was a bit high, there was only one room left in the area, cant complain for last min booking. If your looking for luxury, this is not the place. The heater in the room works well and the ice machine is the lady at the front desk handing you a solid piece of ice in a zip lock. The town closes early , except a Chevron with just about everything except sushi. The little town hardware store across the street is amazing and the trail through the grove of giants close by is a spiritual walk one wont forget.

2019-09-18I wish I could leave a ZERO. This place has absolutely the worst possible customer service I have ever encountered, even traveling 3rd world countries.I made a reservation. Never received ANY confirmation that the reservation was made. Never received any reminders. When I went to look up my reservation, I did not locate it. I tried to call - no answer. I booked another place, nearby, thinking I may have not finalized the reservation.I saw a charge show up on my credit card, tried to call to see if we can work something out. I was told by a very rude Owner that nothing can be done and the mistake was mine.The hotel never called me to inquire why I did not show up for my stay..I would not use this place. Local AirBnBs are WAY better - cheaper, better amenities, and MUCH better service.
