The Windwood Apartment team is great! They are very welcoming. The office is very clean and professional. Even if you are speaking to one of the team members, another team member will chime into your conversation as a back up to what is being offered. Very easy application process. Rapid response to all of your questions. The actual property is well kept and beautiful. The inside of the units are beautiful as well.I would recommend anyone I know to The Windwood Apartments!! Thank you Peter and Leah!!!! Blessings!!!
Im honestly really glad I lived at Windwood Apartments. It was the perfect distance from campus. The people at the leasing office were always genuinely nice, and they were always easy to talk to. I shared a studio apartment with my friend this past year. In my experience, everything in the apartment looked brand new and was definitely quality. Our apartment looked extremely clean. I also loved how the apartments were very well insulated. The only thing negative Id comment about are the gates; they would not trigger sometimes via remote, and often times the gate would even close really early, forcing you to race past it. But other than that, I had a great experience living at Windwood.
I have lived in Windwood Apartments for just over a year and recently transferred from a two-bedroom to a one-bedroom. I have no major complaints. My apartments have been clean, spacious, and relatively quiet, and I love that they are within ten minutes walking distance from the UC Riverside campus. The apartment management have been reasonable and friendly. I would recommend this apartment complex to other early career postdocs/professors like myself.
Windwood is my first apartment home and weve been living here for about a year now. I have no regrets living here and highly recommend it for several reasons. The people who work here are very pleasant, well-informed, and want to help. We feel relatively safe as well as it is a gated community, but do consider that non-residents sometimes enter and go through the trash late at night. Security works late hours. We havent had major confrontations with anyone, and most everyone minds their own business. Students, families and others of all ages live here, and there are regular community events you can attend to meet new people.Pets are also welcome here, from dogs, cats and others, though putting dogs/cats on your lease can be expensive here, at least in our opinion. There are multiple on-site laundry rooms available so there is always an opportunity to do laundry. There are a lot of dumpsters so you dont have to walk too far to throw trash out. There is a game room on-site, with access to a printer and so on. Windwood is also extremely close to UCR and the major highways. The grounds are well maintained and they enforce rules for having people clean up after their animals (doggy bags are also available in the courtyard). You can BBQ in the courtyard, and landscape a little bit if you have a yard. Plants must be potted however, and if critters are an issue you can set up an appointment with management for bug spraying. The fences and balconies offer great privacy!Rent does increase on a yearly basis, that much I know. Lease options and their prices vary. You can see your money be put back into this community, though, and I like that about Windwood. Residents are guaranteed one carport space and one other space on a first-come-first-served basis (storage isnt allowed, cars must be moved around every week or so). Remember to follow the parking rules or you risk getting your car towed - theyve cracked down on unauthorized parking.Maintenance is on point, issues are addressed pretty quickly and residents are given 24-hour notices if entry is needed or if repairs are scheduled. Management also makes an active effort to ensure appliances, safety devices, etc. are working before you even move in, and the only thing they dont replace are light bulbs. There is even an emergency line available after-hours in the event you need immediate maintenance. The air conditioning and heater have worked great since day one. On that note, residents pay for internet (Spectrum or AT&T), electricity, gas and sewage, but not water. There is a ton of storage available, not only indoors but also outside. I think every household has access to an outdoor closet of their own.One of my absolute favorite things about living here is the natural lighting in the apartment! It feels like home, not like were in a cave. For its size, the apartment feels spacious and has nice interior qualities. Overall weve enjoyed our experience here and look forward to continuing it. Thanks for reading, hope this helped.
Management is incompetent and unwilling to adhere to the residents needs. I have never seen a more unorganized staff. The parking is a mess and the guidelines are senseless. It is almost impossible to have guests over. A guest parking pass is mandatory even at night time even though the office closes in the evening. When towed, you need to pay a 300 dollar fee to get your car back. Theyre running a business just by towing cars. When you put in a request, they take so long to fix the problem and when they fix it they make it even worse. Ive had a leak in my living room ceiling for 3 years now and they come to fix it but it ends up leaking again the next time we have rain. Rent gets increased every time the lease expires. I am so disgusted by the inconveniences this place has caused to my college experience and I hope nobody makes the same mistake of living here in the future.
At Windwood, you literally feel like you are at home. Honestly, every worker, makes your stay there easier if you aren’t use to a city like Riverside. I currently don’t reside there anymore, but I did during my first year at UCR and honestly, if it wasn’t for the whole Windwood Team, I would had probably ran back home. If it wasn’t because of school, I would still be living there. Overall, my stay there was great. The people that you will meet there are super nice too, neighbors and everyone around are very friendly, never had a complaint about the people there. It is a quiet and lovely place to live. And even though, I live 2 hours away, I have been back just to say hi to the amazing Windwood Team.
The manager David is super unprofessional. Yells at tenants, doesn’t ever get back to you or try and fix issues that are wrong no matter how many times you call. It is sad how much they do not care about their residents here. I would highly recommend renting anywhere else except here. It is super expensive and it doesn’t matter how nice you are they don’t try and fix any of the issues that are completely their fault.
Whether you are a UCR student or a regular resident, windwood is a very nice and safe place to live at. I have loved this place since it is a gated community making me feel safe. It is pet friendly!!!!! :) Its quiet for the most part and yet it brings neighbors together through social events and food specials for the residents. There is a pool, laundry room, and activity room with a lounge and fitness area as well. Parking is free except for the gate control button but the water is paid for. The rooms are not furnished so be prepared with furniture! There are rarely any bugs. The staff is very friendly, but I suggest to remind them of any problems you may experience to make the job faster. There were only a few problems I experienced such as the water being bipolar (we get mostly hot water), the door is kind of difficult to open at times, the laundry machines arent the best quality because your clothes wont really smell clean, and I question the quality of the water. Also, the insulation in my place is not that great since the AC wont reach the bedroom. Even then I still like the area and the place is very cozy and the apartment itself is beautiful whether u get a small yard or balcony it is a nice place to call home. It is right next to the freeway so keep in mind that when your windows are open you will hear the sounds of cars more than the birds, but the windows keep most of the noise out when closed :).
I lived at Windwood for 3 years, moved out a couple months ago due to a job change. The apartments in this area are all pretty similar but what made me decide to move here was the extensive friendliness and professionalism of the leasing office. Vanessa helped from beginning to end and the whole team, Vicky the community manager and Andre kept a consistent sense of care for residents and cleanliness of the complex. Maintenance is always on top of any work request I had. And resident events is a nice perk. It’s a great location, plenty of shopping centers that are walking distance. Apartment searching can be exhausting, save your time and check out Windwood.
Windwood Apartments management lacks responsibility and coordination. Steps in order to live here is not only slow, but also confusing. The receptionists may seem nice; however, they are not very unhelpful. If there is a question that the receptionists dont know how to answer, they will tell you that they will ask the manager then call you back. THIS IS A LIE. They will never call you back. So as an advice, always ask for the manager.Windwood also fails to provide the basics of an apartment. Dont get me wrong, the apartments look pretty nice. But make sure you check your apartment thoroughly when you first move in. Your drains may or may not work, and there may or may not be needs for replacements. They never go through with promises. For instance, they promised that a few apartments would be ready with a refrigerator. It has already been 3 weeks since they have told us that we will be able to receive a fridge, but have not given us one. They blame it on the appliance company, yet do not give compensation for the time lost. The managing office is also very busy. And the wait to talk to someone can be quite long as well. I feel like most of the reviews written on this site are bluffed because they offer to give out $10 gift cards to those who write reviews for them.Overall, this place is an okay place to live, but I am currently not very pleased with Windwood right now. It will be great if they stepped up with their managing.
I really loved staying here for my last year at UCR. This has been the best living experience that Ive had during college. I love the CARE team events. Although I couldnt attend every event, the few that I did go to were really fun! Also who could say no to free food? The staff at Windwood apartments is super friendly too! They always helped me in a timely manner. One time I made the mistake of sending my mail to the wrong building. When I told one of the staff members, she helped my right away. Luckily the apartment I sent it to was vacant so she was able to check the mailbox and I was able to get my package. Even though it was my dumb mistake, they were still willing to help me! This is why I think the staff at Windwood is the best! The apartment itself was nice, although the interior was a bit old. My only complaint about the apartment would be that the entrance and exit gates were under repair often. Sometimes it wouldnt be fixed right away.
I gave two stars because Andre is AMAZING. He works in the office and he always has an amazing attitude. However, I will not be staying here again, and here’s why:PROS:Close to campus (within walking distance)Close to the UV (walking distance)Pool and jacuzzi are always cleanedQuiet areaEasy to pay rent (rentcafe)CONS:Laundry building isn’t open or open on time. This has happened over 3 separate occasions when I needed to do my laundry. It says it’s open 9am-11pm, however it may not be open by 9am or open on a weekend. For some odd reason (my building in particular) ALWAYS experiences water shut offs. On one particular week, it was shut off 3 times, it’s such a nuisance.Exiting gates are dysfunctional. Haven’t been fixed in (now counting 4 weeks). Causes havoc and back-up when we’re all exiting and entering from the same gate.Lastly, upon leasing the apartment, staff isn’t very communicative in keeping you updated about your application status. Had to call many times to re-confirm and make sure things were running smoothly. That’s my tea, I’m a very patient and considerate person but there comes a point where the line must be drawn. Take it as you will guys and have a great school year!
Vanessa Barrera was extremely helpful with mine and my roommates, as we are all “new” adults. From the moment we stepped in to fill out an application for the waitlist to the moment we signed our lease and got our keys I felt confident that we were in good hands. Vanessa answered any questions we had because we don’t necessarily know what we are doing🤷🏽♀️. Overall, Windwood Apartments have welcomed me in and made me feel that I’m finally “home”. I can’t wait to be all moved in! :)
Windwood is perfect for UCR students! The complex is gated, quiet, and very close to campus (approximately 10 min. walking). I have never had a problem parking, though it does get crowded. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and most importantly, the space is a great deal for the rent I pay. I have lived here since March and overall, I enjoy it and have no complaints!
It has been a good time and the windwood apartments. Maintenance is always on top of it. And the people for the most part are lovely.I’d just say always lock your cars if you look here, although we are gated I have had multiple attempts of people trying to break into my car.
Dont even think about get your deposit back when you move out! We kept everything tidy and every facilities worked fine when we moved out, and they didnt have the chance to charge us for new carpet or refrigerator. SO they changed the tub enclosures, vanities and kitchen counter top and charged us more than $850. Even though these facilities worked fine and clean, they changed them only because these facilities doesnt look like a new one! You know what, no one can keep it as a new one for 12 months!
Really nice and friendly community. The management Keyana ,Andre, and Vanessa are very friendly and professional and made my decision in moving here a lot easier. In the two months i been here i been really comfortable. The apartments are extremely clean inside and out living here has been my best experience yet. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a great place to live with or without kids.
I’ve been living in Windwood for the past two years and it’s been nothing short of amazing! It’s a pretty short walk to campus (around 8-10 min) which is very convenient for students. The two room units are quite spacious and have a nice, modern finish in terms of the kitchen and flooring. I never had any issues such as roaches, major leaks, etc. Even when something did happen, like a small bathtub leak or broken blind, we would just put in a work order and typically have it fixed the same day. The landscaping around the complex is always kept in great shape. My roommmates and I have never had an issue with our neighbors being too loud or things of that sort. Rent rates are comparable to other apartments nearby but I could confidently say that Windwood has the best to offer. Not to mention that they also have nice/clean swimming pools and a game room that has air hockey, billiards, a tv, and a workout area. Various apartment events were put together by a very hard-working and kind team in Eric and Janelle. If you just wanted some doughnuts and coffee in the morning, pancakes for dinner, or some roses and cards for Mother’s Day, they had it for you. But by far the best part about Windwood has to be the staff that works in the office. No matter what issue we had in securing an apartment or while we resided there, they were always willing to help in the best of manners. Specifically, Andre and Vanessa couldn’t have been more gracious and helpful to my roommates and I over these past couple of years. They would do whatever they can to make sure that we were happy residents and I couldn’t have been more appreciatiave of their efforts. After having said all of this, you just can’t go wrong with Windwood because it really does have everything you’re looking for!
I have been at winwood apartments for only a month and absolutely LOVE it here . I love the office team, especially Andre, such a nice person. I recommend these apartments to anyone!!. I mean in the month that Ive been here, weve had a picnic byvthe apartment staff provided for all tenants and a movie night showing coco, by the pool with popcorn and lemonade. Come on!!! What apartment does that? Nice and quite, well maintained, cars are really secure and no complaints from any of my neighbors😊💟💙. Thank u to the winwood staff for making us feel at home 🌝🌞
The management is completely ignorant about the roaches issue. I have been residing here for the past 5yrs and they keep on sending pest control that is absolutely ineffective; the roaches come back couple of days after the spraying. Moreover, despite all of my complaints the grill next to my house still does not work properly and keeps on switching off when you work with it.In addition, they fool you once you want to sign the lease that we have a gym and printers to use, however, they lock down the gym right at 6pm! How are we supposed to use the gym if we are at work and come back to a locked door! Also, the new clerks at the office are very disrespectful.
My experience was horrible. We rented a ground floor apartment. A week after moving, we realized the apartment was full of bugs. Dirty/stinky water would constantly accumulate at the dishwasher bottom surface. They checked and said we have to use the in-sink erator and they cannot fix it. I never got to use my dishwasher. I lived there Dec 2014 to Apr 2015. I cleaned everything as best a non-professional cleaner could do. They charged me a 200 dollars from my security deposit fee for re-painting the apartment and 50 dollars for cleaning the refrigerator. I was the only adult living in that apt and I work full time all 5 months. I did not damage the wall paint in any way and the refrigerator was shiny clean. BASICALLY, THEY TOOK THEIR MAINTENANCE FEES FROM THE TENANT. I am highly disappointed with Windwood apartments and would not recommend this housing to anyone.
For the past year, I have been living at Windwood Apartments and its been a great experience. There are alot of considerable pros to living in these apartments:- walking distance from UCR, very convenient for college students- gated community for safety purposes- plenty of parking- decent living space- washer/dryer- large pool area- grocery stores nearby- & friendly apartment managersI would definitely recommend Windwood Apartments to any college student looking for a new place!
I am not a college student but I have lived here for going on seven years now. Does that tell you anything? I really like it at Windwood, its safe ( because feeling safe is very important), its clean and me, I love all the trees. The staff is really nice and attentive, and the maintenance guys are terrific. Very comfortable place to live and I dont see moving any time soon.
My experience with the apartment room itself has been good. I liked the trees that were here before they cut them down. Wish they didnt. Both my room and my roommates room have leaking roofs. I had to put in a work order twice before they came but I appreciate the service nonetheless. The office had incorrectly charged me two late fees before that I had to clear up with them. Im just glad they realized their mistake.
Worst apartment complex Ive ever lived in. Ive bounced around from apartment complex to apartment complex for years as Ive gone through university and Ive never had such a bad experience. The water is turned off at least once a month and people enter constantly to do unnecessary maintenance and force you to move everything in your room at their will. They also decided to raise the rent on us 3/4 of the way through our lease. On top of all that the management is a bunch of incompetents. I would honestly trust a 5 year old with running the place better. At least they would understand that they need to treat the customer well.Ive never taken the time to write a review before but Im truly hoping to save you the agony of living in this hellhole.
Compared to many of the apartments besides this apartment, Wind wood has good management. There are many criminal incidents happening on Linden St. But I never hear of any within the complex.Pros:1. Apartment is clean, smells good, and nice during move in. They recently placed in new stoves. I like.2. The work order for repairs are good. They do come and fix the stuff.3. The price isnt that bad if you share with people. Its actually the same price compared to Summer meadows. A bit cheaper. Way cheaper than on campus apts.4. Very nice and helpful management at the leasing office.5. New recreation room is great!6. Pool is good.7. Close proximity to school.Cons:1. The gate always has malfunctions. The gate closest to the church and the plaza closes really quickly when entering. Nearly taps the car sometimes. Happened twice.2. The washing machines and dryers are bad. Over priced for low quality cleaning. The washer doesnt make your clothes smell good, neither does the dryer. The detergent smell goes away. Sometimes the dryer is broken but there are no signs or caution labels that say.3. Stuff in the apt always get broken. At least one thing in your apt will break because of low quality structure and make. For instance the air conditioner, shower doors, shower nozzle, fan light bulbs, etc.4. Need more security for recreation room. Practically the door is open for everyone.....maybe create a recreation key?5. BBQ grills are mostly broken or messed up by people.6. Apt doesnt come furnished.7. Bugs. Always either Daddy long leg spiders, ants or seldom, cockroaches. But overall I enjoy living here. Truthfully not as ghetto as other apts. Especially in the area you want to be cautious walking to your apt and what not. The Apt is mostly good because the managers are helpful.
Overall the place did the job, If i could i would give it a review right in the middle between Poor - Fair/ Good. I enjoyed my time there but there were so many ants. We had infestation after infestation, and my roommates and I had to call the office to fix it twice. Other than that, it did its job and provided a nice and safe place to live.
Living at Windwood has been one of the best decisions I have made throughout the 4 years of living in Riverside. It is one of the best apartments in the area!!! good management, proper and timely maintenance, and most importantly a student/family residential atmosphere have made my experience at Windwood a good one.
To start off .. I like living in this community.. I moved here recently and all is well. reasonable rent. secure parking. no issues with that like ive seen others write. I did have my water shut off one afternoon. they did send a notice the day before and warned us. . im not happy about water getting turned off, but im not letting it bother me . complex seems pretty quiet with college students and small families. . being close to the freeway creates noise but I knew the location prior to moving in here. it doesnt bother me. . no bug issues or anything like that ( I keep my place clean ).. few laundry rooms that are easily accessible and usually open washers/dryers the times I go. . and ive seen the issues written about management ,.. I havent had any issues . . this is just my experience.
The Apartment complex is alright to live in but the customer service from all the representatives is horrible! I should have read the reviews earlier and realized this! They charged us for not turning in our thirty day notice even though we went in and asked about it. We were told we could come in two weeks before and notify them from a worker. Their customer service is horrible and they over charge you for everything. And they shut down water for hours and hours at least once or twice every month ! They bribe people to give good reviews with a ten dollar award incentive for subway or starbucks because they know they suck.
There’s a new manager by the name Leah who isn’t doing so great of a job maybe cause she’s new or she maybe just isn’t put for the job she’s made 1 too many mistakes with 1 to many residents. I would recommend staying down the street or across the street. Leah doesn’t care about her residents at all we need someone who will provide better care and protection for their residents homes.
This has been by FAR the WORST rental experience I have had in my life. We had TONS of ants when we first moved in. I didnt think much of it because who does not have ants in this part of California? Little did I know those little ants were a precursor to a HUGE problem. We have been infested with the following through our ten month stay: Beetles, ants, lawn shrimp (I know right? What the hell is that, move here youll have tons of experience with them), silver fish, roaches and fleas. The beetles were so bad they got into our food. I have a family of five and I had to throw out over three hundred dollars worth of pantry food. When I let management know they were rude and treated me like I was crazy. The beetle infestation lasted about a week. I had to duct tape my sliding glass door to seal it and to keep the bugs from coming in. When a maintenance worker came to look at it I pulled up the tape and HUNDREDS of bugs were attached to it. He told me everybody has these bugs and there is not much you can do about it. I contacted a lawyer and had them help me draft a letter stating the laws of habitability since obviously I needed to get more aggressive if we were ever going to get some peace. After having to exert a tremendous amount of stressful and taxing energy they did come to seal my door and only half of the amount of bugs come in now. During this time I also started to smell gas in my apartment. I told management and they sent someone out. He told me we were fine and their was no leak. Two days later a friend of mine points out that it still smells like gas and advised me to call the gas company. Gas company comes out and red tags my gas leaking stove. Two days later my mother says it still smells like gas in my house and once again I call gas company. Gas company then red tags my gas leaking heater. I mean its not like I have three children living here including a four month old baby. Lets talk about resolutions for your work orders. We had a constant issue with our shower doors falling on us. One time in particular I was getting out of the shower eight months pregnant and one came loose sending me flying backwards. This was after they repaired it once already. After the third time we stopped calling and just have a ongoing rule that we no longer move them. We get in through a tiny opening and get out through a tiny opening. The shower head itself could not be moved our it would fly off sending a powerful gush of hot water at your eye. The maintenance left a completed work order saying nothing was wrong with it. I took a shower and the shower head popped off again but this time I was in the shower with the baby. I was beyond livid. I went to the office with the letter from my attorney and a pile of work orders that were in fact not completed and demanded to know what their problem was and why we are having to live like this. The woman said she was going to have to come to my apartment herself to see the shower head. It was clear to me she thought I was just trying to be difficult. She said she was not their to be beat up. I in fact was the one being beat up in this living situation. Anyways she came she saw and she got splashed in the face when she tried to adjust the knob. They fixed everything. Things were looking up until four weeks later we started seeing roaches. The day I threw out my second round of food from a fully stocked pantry we got a notice on our door saying our building was infested and they were doing a mass spraying in every apartment! .If you still want to rent here after my story here is a list of survival tools. Duct tape (To seal your doors and keep bugs out), Big plastic bins (to keep your food in so bugs wont get in),Mold and mildew remover (They will move you in with old disgusting bathrooms), basic hardware and tool set (you might as well fix things yourself), A bike, (For when they tow your car and you cant get it out cause rent is due) Lots of bottled water (They turn the water off once every other week).
Was able to tour the property and was really excited that they have TWO pools and to see that the apartments are definitely well maintained! Thank you Erica Sanchez for taking the time to work with our busy schedule, answering all of our questions, and addressing any concerns we had!
I had such a easy and great experience moving in from the management team at the office. Nathan and Elisella were welcoming and made sure that my move was as easy as possible. I love the cares program here as well, residents are nice and I recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a place to live.
Im an old resident best place to live, i dont understand why people are talking so much about Windwood when all they do are their job. If people get mad its because theyre doing their job. They arent lazy nor unprofessional if you dont know how stressful it is to work in an office then just dont say anything. They only try to help people. If people dont like the staff then simply move out and find another place to live because in all honestly its only a few complaining out of 224 units. Maybe the ones complaining are the ones that are LAZY to go get a parking permit. Just saying. Follow the rules and dont do things you arent supposed to and you wont have problems. Amazing apartment complex
There are few good things with Windwood apartment but it has too many problems that doesnt let me give a better rank.Pros:1- Staff are not bad, not fantastic and always helpful but in general, the office staff are ok.2- Maintenance workers who come into a property to fix something are very polite, very helpful and nice.3- The location is very good and near UCR + shopping facilities.Cons:1- I had a neighbor who was on drug or something else, he frequently get paranoid, came at my door and tries to breaking in. First time he came in the middle of the night and try to break the door with kicking. The managing company (Satellite Management Company, SMC) took about a week to force him evacuate the property. Police told me your security is their responsibility and they should act very fast on it. SMC was too slow, staffs in Windwood office are somehow helpful, but the whole process took a long time and still I am suffering psychologically form that problem. In general, they do only credit background check and no criminal background check (to save more money for themselves).2- There is a SERIOUS water problem in this complex. I live there for about a year and a half and about each two week there is a water cut-off. Three of these incidents were without prior notification. This is too bad for people who have kids or elders. The SMC has no solution to fix this problem too. I wrote them that I will escalate the issue to Riverside county, then I get a usual response that we will do our best, blah blah3- Many of Windwood apartments are near highway and when there is a large vehicle moving your windows and ground are shaking. I dont have problem with loud noise while sleeping but for many residents it is unbearable and they cant leave due to the SMC contract that force them to pay extra. The problem is that they dont let you see the property you will get and some times they show something similar. Therefore, you cant get a real view where do you go to live.4- They have charged you with huge amount of money when you left the property like power scrub, cleaning fee, etc. This means you should forget to get back your deposit and probably you should pay more while leaving the property earlier than the end of your contract.5- They offer something worth 10$ like subway coupon or ... for writing good reviews. This is very unethical dont sell your morals for 10$ + dont believe all reviews
Have been happy with Windwood in the past but things have definitely taken a turn for the worse recently. Very idiotic and shameful that they towed the car of a resident for the past 2 years. Instead of verifying whether the vehicles belong to residents, they try to act as if they are doing everyone a favor and preventing outside parking. Cost me almost 300 dollars for no reason.
The apartment is fine and living there is fine. The thing that bothers me is that the management is so incompetent that it makes you wonder how these people are even allowed to live among humans. When you walk in the office no one assumes responsibility. They act as if they know nothing at all, but that would actually be believable since they switch their staff every other week. If you want to live there go ahead, it wont be bad, but be ready to smack yourself on the head every time you need to deal with management. It really puzzles me that such individuals actually inhabit this planet we call earth. My goodness, I am dumb founded.
Manager Leah is so lazy and unprofessional and not to mention has her residents cars and their visitors cars towed even if you get a pass beforehand to be safe. She’s simply unorganized she needs to be doing better, the other employees are amazing as they have been before she got here, she’s new
This is my second year living here and I couldn’t be more happy of making this choice two years ago … neighbors are quiet no crazy stuff going on in parking lot office gentlemen are fast at solving any issues and very polite and understanding most important I feel saga no matter what time it is and there are no pest problems of any kind … I definitely recommend this place
Cool place. They have pools which is awesome since it is usually hot in riverside. The rec center is RIGHT down the street and UCR campus is also super close. I feel like for a UCR student, this is better than a dorm because it is actually probably closer to campus and it is close to the UV which is cool too for groceries.
I lived at the apartment for almost two years. When I moved out I returned all keys including the remote gate opener. To get the gate opener, Management charged me a $30 deposit when I moved in. They said that I will get the deposit back when I return the gate opener. When I moved out I did not receive the $30 deposit and corporate office indicated they do not have a record of the $30.00 even though they have a record of me returning the gate opener. I tried calling the Windwood apartment’s manager and they were not much of a help. When talking to them is like talking to someone who has no idea of what customer service is. Corporate office was not much of a help either. I am so dissatisfied with the service and response I received from management; therefore, I strongly discourage anyone from renting at Windwood apartments.
This complex is very suitable for UCR students who are looking for a nice stay and willing to pay around 550-600 per month.Pros: 1, safe--surrounded by gates, monitor system2, close to UCR, K-mart and Stater-bros, 10 mins walking distance3, nice facilities including pool, laundry, bbq, mini gym4, nice environmentCons: 1, rents increase everytime after the contract expires, even you are gonna sign up for a new contract.2, many ants in the apt3, could be noisy--some apts are close to the freeway
Windwood apts are just amazing, they are very clean and they respond to any maintance request quickly. They have a really awesome cares team who sets up events 3 times a month, i have never seen this at any other apartment complex. windwood is a great place to have fun.
Residents who live there get their own cars towed regularly, and if you expect pizza delivery (and apparently UPS, FedEx, etc,) your landlords expect you to walk all the way to the front gate at any hour, to get your stuff. As a pizza driver,I speak from experience. Also your guests cant get inside, dont expect any company if you live here.
So far im having an aweful experience. We moved in the begining of feb.we barely hit our 6 mth mark.first we get calls about noise complaint.im not going to tell me 2 year to not play or walk basically at noon because its to loud.im pregnant for one and i can hear myself walk.even when i try to be quite it seems its to loud.then two weeks after we moved in all the dirt from the last tenants came up.they cleaned it twice and now there solution is to say we took pictures of it and if it doesnt match the pictures we have then ull have to do it yourself.that is aweful because clearly when we called to have them do the carpet the first time it wasnt us.n 2nd the said they wld b in contact on monday n were now going on weds.we have a clogged bathroom tub still, nails that stick out of the carpet, n our door gets stuck.its all things ive coplained about n still nothing is getting handled. Ill admite management is very nice and they are kind and try and work w u but this carpet thing just got to me after they told my husband that.we are deff looking for another place to live.the proce is so not worth this one bit.
Not the kind of place where students could live in. This place is not worth the money. They literally steal entire deposit. All buildings are really old. I would highly insist other communities like Dwell, Woodland, Highlander Park, Highlander Pointe, University Crest, University Village Towers and Sterling Highlander.
Windwood is one of the best apartments I lived in, I have no complaints.. I love it that its extremely quiet nobody bothers me and I dont bother anyone.. I also like the fact that nobody that dont live here is not allowed in the community only if you as a resident let them in.. I will and have recommended windwood to friends and family.. Staff is great friendly and professional.. Thank you Windwood Apartments!
I would not advise him permanently for several reasons:1 - especially inconvenience if you take an apartment close to the highway2 They pass you every month or two to make sure their property is safe and photographed3 Do not let you park the car behind .... for no reason !!!!4 They hold you to renew the car form and begin to chase you and annoy you until you renew it5 presence of insects, especially ants intensively6 insurance $ 500 when you deliver the apartment does not return directly but send it to you after two months and after deducting 70% of it (I mean, if you return $ 150 of them you are lucky) * I lived for a month and calculate the paint and carpet washing and cleaning the apartment *7 If the contract expires, raise the rent to force you to renew (know the problem of transport and baggage)8 Do not respect the customer and consider him a thief until his innocence is established9 for information they have offer $ 10 gift for each person praising the compound and attend the guide do not be surprised by the many praiseers × _ ×Apartment for rent Second FloorIts only advantage is its proximity to the mosque and the institute

2022-03-04I’ve been living here for 6 months and wanted to give a good detailed review. All those reviews on how good these apartments are? No. Only good thing about these apartments are that you have quiet neighbors. Rent increases like crazy but they do use it to upgrade the apartment grounds. They tend to have a predatory towing company in that they will warn you about towing your vehicles, even though you paid for that parking spot and tags are current. They also have weekly water shutoff. Laundry rooms are barely working sometimes and you pay to use them ($1.50-$2). BUGS, I am a clean freak and I still get gnats in my apartment. The GATES are broken every other week, so not really a great protector. No security other than a security car parked far away.

2022-04-01Worst apartment complex ever; apart from rents increasing tremendously, not having security cameras, cars and other stuff being stolen, laundry machines always broken, their apartments are infested with roaches and mice.We have had mice sightings in our apartment for the past 4 months and the managing office is only putting in traps without investing where these rodents are coming from.We have thrown out over $500 worth of our foods products because we found mice feces in them and worse than that is that my whole family got sick this past week (severe nausea and vomiting). The management office is refusing to bring in a professional to inspect and find where the mice are coming in from and they ONLY continue setting mice traps which is not helping at all!Do not rent here because the managing office is ignorant!

2021-12-06I just moved into Windwood Apartments, I was in a time crunch to find a place for my family and I. I called to ask if anything was available and was greeted by Peter. The entire process was fast and Peter was great even when we had to make changes the day of the move in he was very understanding and helpful. I’ve only just moved in but the apartment complex looks clean, quiet (despite being next to the fwy) and safe for being in a not so good area. Hope to have only positive experiences while living here.

2022-01-13When we first moved in the office could not tell me why their system had not processed my rent payment, and then proceeded to charged a late fee. I was not going to make another payment while the system said the current one was still pending. They also want to tow your vehicle any chance they get, my first occurrence was with a flat tire. It had just happened the day before and I needed to wait till I got paid to replace it. Just recently they tagged my car for backing in to a parking spot, citing the lease says not to. The lease only says Backing into a carport is prohibited how is open parking a carport? Just so the office staff is aware the definition is a shelter for a car consisting of a roof supported on posts, built beside a house which means no roof no carport. The office staff is just there to use up resources.

2021-09-07Do yourself a favor and look somewhere elseThis place is absolutely horrible. They constantly have to shut the water offThey leave the laundry rooms locks so you cant even do your laundry the jacuzzi is never hot the pools are locked, security cameras NEVER work and cars are stolen or broke into ALWAYS. Dont rent here its a joke, they have kids working as office staff and the ground is always flooding from sprinklers. They cant figure out ANYTHING here. The rent goes up over 200 everytime its time to renew a lease. Im telling you the truth moving in here is the WORST decision I have EVER made. Right behind the complex is a huge homeless campground where they all live, at night they come into the complex and steal anything they can get. I would feel safer and better living in my car then in this apartment. I have not meet one tenet who is happy here as this place is ALL BAD. The only good thing about this place is moving out, trust me any place is better then here, YOU DONT WANT TO LIVE HERE!!!!!

2020-11-13I am a disabled veteran and was having a hard time meeting requirements to move into a place. 20 places I tried before I found Windwood. The staff was so helpful and worked with me to get into an apartment. Kevin was who helped me get through the entire process and within 3 days, I had the keys in hand. I got a great rate, the apartment is super nice and has lots of space. The complex is really nice and well maintained. The amenities are a great bonus and the surrounding neighborhood is great. I gave 5 stars as an honest review and would totally recommend Windwood to others.

2021-04-03Been living here for almost 6 months. It is an older apartment complex but well maintained. Just make sure you don’t pick the unit right beside the highway as it can get quite noisy at night with window open. The front office staff has been excellent! Very responsive to service request and they are always polite and attentive. Especially this guy called Kevin Arteaga he’s just wonderful. I’m glad Kevin is on the management team during my stay at Windwood :)Edit: after living here for over a year I can confirm that the management has been very responsive to my maintenance requests, and they have always been friendly. My neighbors are pretty nice and friendly as well. Buuuuuuut I do have to point out that my car got broken into twice this month while parked in my designated parking spot inside the gate. And no I did not leave my bag in the car. And no there is no security camera installed at the car port. Very concerned about my safety. Management is aware and I heard they are considering installing cameras around the property.
