I have been happy with the previous management at this store but the new management has been absolutely terrible. I complained about several important mail missing and the new owner/manager says that it is not their fault and responded by emailing me that they will close my business mailbox. I have had this address as my business mailbox for over 13 years and had to go thru changing my business mailing address. It is not easy to change a business mailing address.I tried to explain to new manager that I get other peoples mail in my box and she says I should only return it to her in person to prove this issue. I cant believe how the manager of the business just lies that I cursed at her. There was one lady customer mailing a package and she was rolling her eyes when she couldnt believe the managers responds and rudeness. All I did was requested that they keep a look out for my missing check, to see if someone returns it. She then replied that I can not check all the boxes and start getting annoyed by my request and said that I shouldnt have renewed the box. I shouldnt have listen to her when she asked for another chance to fix thevissue the last time when the renewal came up.I never cursed at you and now I know that you are not just a terrible manager/owner but a liar as well.You surely need some lesson in customer service.I definitely do not recommend this UPS store. It took me many days to notify my clients, vendors, etc to change my address.I give the new owner/manager 0 stars. And everyone else who gave reviews are talking about the same woman.
Very helpful staff and Laura in particular was amazing. I got to the store late and needed a bunch of moving materials and she stayed late to help me get organized. In the past I have gotten Passport photos and sent packages and in every interaction the staff has gone out of their way to help!
Who owns this place? UPS needs to strip them of their franchise for using policies selectively.I ordered a package to be Quick Shipped - delivery scheduled for 9/28/17. When I was in possession of the slip that came in the mailbox...they said that Caroline picked up the package. She is not authorized to pick up mail for Acme Anything. In fact, her name should not be on the PO Box. Caroline knows she is not an Acme employee, but she still uses the woman who is the manager hung up on me when she called the office to verify if I worked here.I am taking this to the corporate level. This is a business address and she is threatening to not do business with us based on their incompetence in upholding their policies.UPDATED REVIEW - QUESTIONABLE OWNERSHIP?Staff was extremely rude and uncooperative when I tried to pick up a package for the company I work for. Friday, 11/18 was my 3rd attempt to pick up the package that was scheduled to be delivered on Sept. 28th. I offered for them to copy my id and plenty of details...they refused. Their antics wasted my time and money.Just now, they called and hung up on me when I answered the phone??? Unprofessional and lacking in customer service.Also...they are VERY SLOW when it comes to delivering mail into mailboxes each day. A PO Box from the Post Office is definitely a better option.
Laura at the UPS Store on Piedmont Avenue is AWESOME. I needed to return a bunch of stuff to Amazon, and she made the process SO EASY. She basically took care of everything except paying for it herself. There was virtually no wait, and I was on my way in just a few minutes. A+ service. Thanks Laura! Thanks UPS!
Staff is really nice but everything here is a total ripoff. It was hard to compare prices since i was not told any options and associated prices, just given one option. Even when I mentioned that the option seemed way too much and gave much lower alternatives from USPS, I was told there was nothing to do. I was forced to pay $3 to use their extremely slow computer just so I could pay another couple of dollars to print a single page. Its just a nickle and dime business. If you already have prepaid postage and your packages are ready to go, this is a great, convenient location. But if you plan on shipping something without any of the packaging prepare for a total scam. I wont be back.
I bought a mailbox for a year under the assurance from the store employee that many people use the boxes for their main business address for purposes of having a business location in Oakland. When I got to the business licensing department, they told me NO mailbox addresses are valid- it must be a physical location of your business. So since I was honest, they would not accept my UPS mailbox address as my business address. When I returned to the UPS store to ask for a refund (of my $390 for the yearly fee- ONE DAY after I bought it), I was refused a refund by the employee. I emailed the owner of the store at least 4 times and never heard back from him. It was such a frustrating experience for a new business owner to go through- there are so many rules and regulations to follow and I was just trying to do things right...but unfortunately blew $390 for a mailbox I didnt need. Ive only gone to pick up mail twice- and the second time I was locked out of the store- my key wouldnt work and they had installed a key code box that requires you to stop by during regular business hours to get the code before you can use it for the first time. So Ive been unable to get my mail for several months since I cant ever come by during my work day since I work full time. Overall, a horrible experience with extremely poor customer service.
Horrible customer service.Retail firm gave me the wrong return labels - no fault of my own. Did this store let me leave the boxes there while I came back with the right labels? Nope!Made me lug them all out.Also, no convenient parking options - so I’ll be using a different store in the future.
Unprofessional! Wrong operation hours people trying to get in at 8am when they open later then that even in there on website it shows 8am. I ask the manager about it and he failed to take responsibility of there error blaming everybody else and had the nerves to try to argue with me! Really??

2022-02-24I was at the store today and one of the ladies was so rude because I combine returns to Amazon together. Very disrespectful staff and argumentative, complaining about the tapes. I offered to pay for the tape. She us not receptive to criticism or corrections. If there is any pount less than 1, i will give.

2022-05-28Cris was EXTREMELY helpful with my UPS return. Thank you Cris! However, the printing from a pc/email situation sucks. $3.70 to use their computer and 35 to print a page versus $5 for them to use their computer plus I believe 35 cents per page to print. Ugh... Capitolism!

2021-12-03I mail out 5+ next day air weekly and always loved the staff here. Unfortunately, Today the girl in yellow was just rude, very impatient and not helpful at all. I did not enjoy the service which was the very reason I went for this store. The extra 2 stars is for the other male clerk who has been always polite and attentive.

2022-06-06Charged me $7.71 for tape I didn’t need to buy because store has a policy to discipline staff for allowing customers to borrow tape tape .I was returning an Amazon item .Other Amazon partners take all Amazon packages no packaging required .NOT HERE box and packaging must be brought it even when they could See I had a cam walker on my left foot I could not go back and forth.THE WORST UPS STORE !!!!5 staff member not one stepped up to say anything positive to assist…,no flexibility-HORRIBLE STORE!!!

2020-10-06The BEST UPS store in Oakland!!! Staff is amazing. Theyre all super nice and efficient. I was in and out I had a few shipments to do pretty heavy boxes too. I asked for a hand truck to carry them in luckily I received help from the staff even though its not their responsibility to do so. I appreciate everyone of the workers there.

2021-03-27Yes, this little place has been our go-to for years. The former ladies/managers were indeed old school service-oriented. They were always friendly, informative and helpful -- even when we only had small self-service copy jobs. Due to the small space, the only negative we have to say is the long wait while some folks do big self-service jobs instead of letting the company do the copying on the bigger, faster copiers.

2020-12-10Really unsure about the overall 3 stars rating for this UPS Store. Ive been here to use their notary service, and to mail packages probably a dozen times in the past year and they have been nothing but attentive, friendly, and helpful. In fact, we went today to mail two packages and there were 3 others in line ahead of us. Due to COVID, we had to wait outside the door. An employee took the initiative to come out to greet us and offered to take the packages for us and gave us receipts (our boxes had pre printed prepaid mailing labels on them). This was great, what we had to do was simple and the proactive employee saved us time waiting in line.Weve also gone to the UPS Store on Grand & Perkins and the folks there are also pretty helpful and friendly. The drawback about that location is that they tend to get a lot of customers and the line can get +5 long, AND they seem to be short staffed most times - a few days ago, we went to mail packages and there was only one employee working behind the counter and the line grew to some 8 people ;/

2021-06-03Really long wait for fingerprinting, without much acknowledgement of the wait. Then they don’t tell me that there is a fee when using a credit card. I could have easily stopped at an atm beforehand. I had called the day before to ask about the price and they could have told me then.
