AWFUL SERVICE! DO NOT GO! I scheduled a UPS pickup on Amazon. The driver did not come. After waiting for a week, I took my 30-pound box to this store by myself. They refused to take it and told me to call the UPS corporate office to find the driver by myself. I was smart enough to change the UPS pickup service to dropoff on Amazon. They finally took the box but charged me $3.8 for printing the label. During the whole process their attitudes were horrible.
Had a lousy experience trying to return AT&T equipment at Franklin store #3357, so I drove out of my way to this store. SO worth it! CSH Th---- handled the return quickly and courteously. Extremely pleased with the level of service at this UPS Store; highly recommend!
This is a well run shipping and receiving business based on customer service. I dont think its just me thinking this way, because volume is pretty high - youll see boxes lining the walls sometimes as the day goes on, but then a swarm of trucks will show up and clear the decks. Having a rental box address here is huge - its not all that much money, and can pay for itself in this era of porch pirates and lobby looters. They are super reliable and always there to sign for something so no waiting an extra day or sacrificing your schedule, it gets logged (this is big, I find), and if UPS accidentally mis-delivers (theyre good, but every shipper has a tiny percentage of misses), having an informal contact channel has solved a stray package issue quicky and informally once or twice over the years. Im just a happy customer and I cant figure out how to make this not sound so much like an ad, but the team here has saved me so much time and grief! And oh, yeah - it it really great not having to give out my home address any more!
I had an Amazon return and needed to print the label. Associate #1 says, We charge a $3 printing fee. Even for a UPS shipping label?! I said incredulously. Yeah, he replied. There are other printing places around.Well, thats ludicrous, but OK. I dont really know my way around the area, so I walk a few blocks to a print shop on Fulton that turns out to be closed (despite its hours on its door showing it should be open), then to Fedex, where I print two pages at $0.13 ea. Time wasted.Assuming theyd charge me for tape to affix said label, I stop at CVS and buy packing tape for $4.35. And, assuming this UPS location sells the same kind, I tear open the packaging so when I walk in holding tape they dont accuse me of theft. To my surprise, Associate #1 beckons me over and offers to slip my label into an adhesive packet. Very sweet of him. If this encounter ended right now, thisd be a 4-star review, and a nasty letter to UPS franchises or the owner or whoever about the outrageous $3 charge that their direct competitor, a block away, doesnt do.Unfortunately, Associate #2 came out of the woodwork, and as #1 is sticking the label to my tiny packet, cracks, Thatll be $3.No. Thats not an OK way to treat a customer - particularly one already unhappy. I call him out and he tries to laugh it off, but its not funny. This is a stupid policy, but my time is valuable, and I had to waste a bunch of it wandering around. Their bad attitude meant I paid for packing tape I didnt need, because I was afraid of being hit with even more abrasive policy. I dont care about the $0.26 I paid Fedex - at this point, Im ready to give them all my business. But, Amazon has an exclusivity thing with UPS, so Im stuck with these jerks. Associate #2, making light of my wasted time and effort, needs a reality check. I have better things to do than traipse all over Berkeley doing what should have happened there in just a few seconds. Joking about it doesnt make it OK. And worse: his comment reveals that the employees had been talking about me while I was gone. Anyone who has ever been talked about behind their back, and then found out, knows this feeling - and you certainly should NEVER do it to a customer.I get it: UPS already has Amazons money. Its just never OK to treat another person so condescendingly. I have other UPS stores I can ride my bike to, so I certainly wont risk lousy customer service from this shop again, and neither should you, review reader.
Apparently this UPS location doesnt mail items to Canada, which is ridiculous. The excuse that the worker provided only proves his incompetence . If other UPS locations can mail items to Canada but this location cannot, then I think UPS really needs to evalute their employees and the services here.

2020-09-08Rude people!I was returning an Amazon box , was given UC Student Union Address, which is temporarily closed, I stood in line and waited for 10 minutes, then asked if I can return here since it was supposed to be At student Union, was told Yes. Then was in line again, finally it was my turn then was told I needed to print another label. I tried emailing to them but was the same one , so I had to cancel my return and start a New return and when adding their address it wouldn’t let me print, they said they don’t know how to do it since he doesn’t have an Amazon account, then the “Manager” said I keep on printing the Student Union address which I was not. He was very rude and I told him, he said he wasn’t. I was willing to wait in line, then redo my return only to have to cancel it again. Worst service ever, if you could even call that service.

2021-07-11Jeff, the notary guy in This location is awesome. Fast and friendly. After a bitter experience with the notary in Alameda location “psycho Erika” I came here and got my green card copy notarized in no time. Thanks Jeff

2020-12-31After dropping off a return of an item they lost my package and I had to pay for it. On top of that the workers had excessively smelly toes. They need to invest in both a better tracking system and a shower for their musty workers.

2020-10-19The notary illegally charged a fee for notarizing an absentee ballot. Seemed actively irritated when I explained that this is illegal and refused to not charge. Very disappointing to see this happening in Berkeley given the importance of voting rights and how hard people have fought in this country for those rights. When I called the store to report the incident they were unapologetic and seemed irritated that I’d even bring it up. Luckily, UPS corporate headquarters gave me a refund after I provided them with a copy of the law, but seeing people so intent on putting down someone who is standing up for their rights is very disappointing. It’s 2020 and the idea a business would explicitly disrespect voting rights and act condescending towards a young person trying to submit their ballot is truly sad. Don’t let a notary charge you for voting!

2020-10-09These guys are day robbers. God. With the money they charge they can easily buy a lot in Salesforce tower. Is there no regulation to monitor these guys? $85 for two day delivery. 50 cent per page for printing plus $3 for printing. What is this? I sincerely wish they go out of business and someone else who’s reliable take the spot

2019-09-25I stood in an empty store for 20 minutes after attempting to say hello, and ringing a bell. Then an employee came in the door from the outside, which surprised me. She was nice and got my fingerprints done for me, but the price didn’t match what it said online. The funniest part was that when she entered a male employee peeked around the corner, which showed that he just ignored me for 20 minutes. 😂

2018-02-02These guys are total crooks! If you think it is expensive, it is because they are making up their own rates! On a Thursday I wanted to send a small package (about 2 lbs) to San Diego to arrive Monday. They said it would cost $22 and arrive the following Wednesday. However, earlier in the week I mailed another package from the UPS store in Moraga (closer to 8 lbs and >2x in size) and it only cost $13 and took just three days! I asked why and the total jerk behind the counter couldnt explain he just kept trying to quickly force me through the transaction. I was really put off even before he gave me the price because I asked him to look up my account using my phone number (which the Moraga store always does) and he said he couldnt because not all stores can access the UPS database -- this is ridiculous and a lie! He finally looked it up and found it but was being really snotty to me for insisting he do so. I knew the address I was shipping to was stored in my account so I hadnt brought it with me but knew it would be in the system. Totally rude, a complete jerk. And likely they are skimming off the customers - theres no reason the package should have cost more and take 6 days to arrive! I went up the street to FedEx and mailed the package for Monday delivery for $10. Will never ever go to the Shattuck street UPS Store again. Totally unethical and horrible service. Please look for other options when you ship! :-)
