Super cute restaurant with colorful decor. It was so interesting to see all the books along the wall, and it was cool to see board games on the shelves, too. There were a lot of people when I went at lunchtime on Sunday, but it was pretty quick to order my food and get my drink immediately while waiting for my food to be freshly prepared. They validate parking in the garage on both sides of the AMLI.The jackfruit bowl was chock full of veggies and had a strong BBQ flavor with a spicy kick. I liked the crunch of slivered almonds in the dish. The iced tea was unsweetened, and I didn’t see any sweeteners laid out with the compostable utensils, so I guess this place is really healthy, lol.Great service, and the staff was really friendly and welcoming. You can walk around the corner and see all the boats in the marina. Such a pretty place!
Very tasty, and I highly recommend getting the honey coins loyalty program. Its not the kind of thing that makes you feel obligated to go there more than you would normally but the rewards are good. I would not recommend the acai bowl unless you want something really sweet. Good coffee drinks
I love the Hive Santa Monica. I live a block away from the mdr location and have been waiting for ages for them to open. And what a disappointment. I tried 3 different things and I wasnt super happy with the food. I wasnt going to write a review because thats not my thing but today I drove to the sm location and found out that they are replacing the menu with the one in mdr. Im very disappointed with this decision and I think they just lost me as a customer. The breakfast burrito is the best. Please keep it on your menu.
The Bone Broth left a ton to be desired - lukewarm, flavorless, and watery. We were pretty disappointed after seeing good reviews and coming a long way just for the broth. We tried two chicken based ones since they were out of beef broth. Maybe those were better. The place itself is small but cute and the staff is friendly. The right start bowl was delicious and healthy. Skip the bone broth and try other options.
Love the menu, atmosphere, and convenience but the prices are a bit ridiculous - especially when you pay $13-$17 for an açaí bowl and the bowl is all granola and fruit. I’ve never ruined a few times to the staff but it’s super inconsistent and is making myself and the locals find other options - when they could have rally consistent regulars. I really hope they make an effort to fix this soon!
I eat there every single day (the cafe is within 1 minute walk of my sailboat and apartment). A truly great place with great vibe with great food (try their açaí bowl or healthy salmon dish) and friendly staff. And a gorgeous view of the marina and boats. A true LA gem!
Amazing ambience and even better food. Much needed addition to the area. The moment you walk in youre welcomed by their very friendly staff. Once youre done admiring their incredible wall art work you can enjoy your food outside with a stunning view overlooking the Marina. the atmosphere is chill and trendy. They only use fresh ingredients for their smoothies and bowls. Their açaí bowls are mouthwatering. Ill be back as soon as Im in the area.
Delicious healthy salads and bowls. Very warm and happy new neighborhood spot. Lots of healthy drinks.I asked them to get a particular brand of chai tea that my wife loves. They ordered it happily and texted me when it arrived. Whenever he come in now, we are greeted by name. Also has a really nice outdoor space. Check it out!
I am visiting the area, and this was my second day in a row getting breakfast at The Hive. The dragonfruit açaí bowl and cold brew are amazing! The bowl had just the right amount of topping (which sometimes other açaí shops lack). The cashier also remembered me from the day before which was so sweet! All the employees are very nice. It is a great atmosphere and the overall branding is very unique. From the graphics on the iced coffee cups to the addition of bee pollen in the açaí bowl (I am a big believe in bee pollen in your diet and I have never seen another açaí shop do this). 👏👏👏
We are visiting LA. We went to the Hive @ Marina Del Ray and we had some salads and we ordered a smoothie. My salad tasted like mud! The mushroom tasted like soil/earthy and it overwhelmed my whole salad. My poor son had his salmon salad and he ate only the salmon and said the salad tasted horrible! My hubby had his wrap and he couldn’t finish it. The smoothie my son ordered was suppose to have mango, banana pineapple etc. I told them to not add the banana instead add more mango, OMG! the whole smoothie tasted pineapple and and not a taste of mango! When we got back to the hotel, my son had very very bad diarrhea!!!! He was crying and saying his tummy hurts so bad. We were staying at the Rirz-Carlton and had to run out to get him pepto bismol and Gatorade!!! He became soWeak. After taking the PEPTO a couple of times he felt better. Then after that I diarrhea and had to take the same to feel better. NEVER EVER EVER WILL I GO TO THIS PLACE!!!
The Hive definitely did not leave a good first impression. Arrive at 830am, ask for a coffee. Oh we haven’t made our coffee yet, but you can get a latte. Order two, one regular and one non fat. 10 mins later (place not busy), here are your two non fat lattes. Messed up the order and they were just average. Definitely not impressed. And they were overpriced.

2022-06-22What a colorful little spot! The food was yummy and super fresh. I ordered the Chicken Athena salad and I felt great after eating it. There was an awesome vibe there. I would definitely go back!

2022-06-24Find this hidden gem and food is so so so good - five stars for the chicken salad bowl, açaí bowl, and the berry salad bowl we got. Just came back from Hawaii and the açaí here is just as good. The salad bowls are very tasty too - such a delicious and healthy place!

2022-07-04Quintessential healthy but tasty food. We found this by chance as we were looking for a place to eat close to Marina Beach. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the smoothies. We got several smoothies - sun god, tropicali, bees knees, matcha mint chip, and a breakfast burrito, avocado toast, the daily special omelette and the shroom bowl. Everything was good but my cousin did not like sun god as much as expected because it was heavy, too chocolate-y and had a stronger coffee flavor than he wouldve liked. I loved the matcha mint chip as it was a great mix of matcha, mint, spinach and banana and felt refreshing and cleansing at the same time. The tropicali and bees knees were both refreshing and delicious. The food was excellent. Avocado toast in particular was very very good. The shroom bowl was impressive as was the omelette. We also liked the breakfast burrito. All in all, this was a great little find. I also found a couple of interesting chocolate bars. If you check in on Yelp, you get a free iced tea.

2021-10-22A gem of a place, hidden away by the Marina. The Nitro Cold Brew Coffee and Orange Tumeric cold-pressed juice were both fantastic. Topped off by their original Hive Acai Bowl. All really healthy and delicious!

2021-07-11Great place for a healthy lunch break. I got the superfood pesto bowl with the amazing pulled chicken - loved it . Didn’t feel too heavy after. My mom got the chicken Steven’s (which was fairly similar to mine) and she likes it too.

2021-06-14The Hive does not fall into a traditional breakfast place, unless you are from California perhaps. The Hive features acai bowls with various toppings. You can build your own. The toppings can include everything from coconut to been pollen. You can create a crunchy topping which really adds an eating dimension. What you will not find is the traditional bacon and egg but it is worth the visit. The bowls were surprisingly filling.

2022-02-17Id say its a decent place to grab a quick bite. Musics too loud though and very upbeat, gets tiring after about 15 minutes so not sure how the workers handle being all day here. Id like to be able to sit down have a chat with a friend or get some work done on the laptop but this place just isnt suited for that. For comfort while sitting inside, it would be nice if there were window shades or tint (and umbrellas for outside tables) - it gets really sunny with floor to ceiling windows. Im seeing people literally shielding their eyes with a hand as theyre chatting over a table. But maybe comfort isnt the point here.

2021-06-26Health-focused eatery by the marina. Came here on a Wednesday evening to have an original acai bowl and iced tea for dinner (you have a choice of passion fruit or jasmine). The acai bowl was super tasty and came with a generous amount of granola, coconut flakes, strawberries and bananas. There was some bee pollen as well, which I thought was a cute touch. The jasmine iced tea was light and refreshing (no sugar added). The cashier was nice and the food came out quickly. You can easily get in and out within an hour. There’s a parking garage with the first 15 min free, though the restaurant also has 1 hour validation for parking. I parked at the one on the right hand side (by the orange theory). Outdoor and indoor seating is available. There’s a single occupant bathroom available. Dogs were allowed. Credit cards are accepted.Overall, there are some great tasty and fresh options for a quick meal!
