As first-time home sellers, we had no idea where to begin. We found John & Melissa’s home seller’s checklist online, and John quickly reached out to see if we had any questions or anything he could help us with. True to their home seller’s checklist, we interviewed a number of different real estate agents, and nobody compared with John & Melissa. They were so knowledgeable and communicative about the process, answering our questions, helping us understand the various pricing strategies, and making suggestions about what we should and/or should not do to our house to help it sell for top dollar in the hot San Diego market.When it came time for listing, Team Steele coordinated the photography and 3D tour and made sure our house was looking as good as possible. They managed to coordinate MORE THAN TWENTY house showings in the first weekend on the market, which was beyond our wildest dreams, and when it came time for offer review, we had 4 really strong offers, significantly over our asking price. This week makes 1 month since closing on my home and it is still so surreal! I was a first time buyer. I first met with John and Melissa in June of 2018; almost 3 years ago! Although I was not yet ready at the time, they took the time to meet with me and answer very basic questions which helped me align my expectations and set some real goals. From my first meeting with them, I knew that they would be the ones to work with when I was prepared. Fast forward to February 2021, and I was right! With such a competitive market, it took a few offers before I got one accepted, yet John and Melissa stuck with me and were patient. I also worked closely with Laurie who was present at all of the viewings for potential homes (and there were many!) Laurie ALWAYS showed up with a smile and was attentive to my questions and comments about each of the places we saw. Melissa and John helped us find our first home and the experience couldnt have been better. Consummately professional doesnt come close to describing the phenomenal realtor experience we had with Melissa and John. We reached out to Melissa via a referral for selling our rental home in San Diego. Our task was complicated by the fact that we live in the Bay Area, couldnt travel due to Covid19, and were contemplating a 1031 exchange after this sale.Melissa and John made the entire experience smooth and totally hassle-free. She coordinated everything with our local property management company. She used 3D videography and professional staging to appropriately convey all the beautiful aspects of our home and managed all the on-the-ground tasks related to the sale, ranging from inspection, minor repairs and final walk-through. Lauren was highly professional! She was hands on with helping me prepare for the sale of the home, including doing some yard work and even planting some succulents to make my garden look new again! My husband was out of state which made the coordination more complicated but she was able to make it seamless and stress free. Melissa is relentlessly motivated, and John has shared more practical, valuable investment and financial advice with me than most people I know twice his age. Work with Team Steele, you wont regret it.2020: Ive known John and Melissa personally for years, and always been so impressed with their proactive hustle, strong work ethic, and willingness to find creative solutions to unexpected problems - so when my time finally came to be a 1st-time home seller, they were naturally my go-to choice for a realtor.Right from the start, it was clear that theyve worked hard to build as friction-free an experience for selling your home as possible, which was amazing to me, given 1) the naturally complicated process of selling a property in the first place, and 2) that were in the middle of a **frickin pandemic**, which is throwing whole industries into turmoil.John and Melissa had rock-solid, clear answers for me about how things should work at every turn, and while other brokers I know have literally shuttered their businesses, and given up due to restrictions on in-person property showings, these two are absolutely thriving, having long ago adopted modern tools like DocuSign, YouTube walkthroughs, Zoom video meetings, and totally badass virtual reality tours with Matterport, to keep everyone safe, while still moving the paperwork ball forward. In our sale, we had an especially hard time with high HOA fees that were turning off buyers, and that caused two buyers to back out. When the first buyer backed out, they had another buyer that same day! Eventually that buyer backed out, but John and Melissa were able to get us a full priced offer within another week.In our purchase, we made an offer on the house and the seller was making some unreasonable demands. We couldnt agree to them and decided to let the house go. Melissa sensed that we really wanted the house, and on her own accord, reached out to the sellers agent. She was able to reason with them and out of the blue we get an unexpected 10:00pm call from her telling us they had accepted our offer!You cannot find a harder working couple that are not only good at their job, they are nice, friendly people that will go the extra mile to help you with this whole real estate buy/sell process to make it as easy for you as possible.

Melissa and John helped us find an ideal place in San Diego, we moved from NorCal to San Diego without knowing any communities, location, etc. They setup a search for us and when we found places that we liked the kindly went out and walked the house for us, they recorded it on video, uploaded it for us and shared it with us to virtually walk the house. when we did put an offer on a place and it was accepted, they coordinated the inspection and it was when I first walked the place, the loan officer they work with was outstanding as well being able to do a back to back closing, they also helped us with some basic needs for our house, like carpet cleaning, they were there to let the carpet cleaning staff in and also assisted us with moving crews to help us load the truck. they love what they do.

They are both professional and respectful, they never pushed on when to buy and gave their honest opinion on homes. I recently moved to the area so their expertise in the local neighborhoods was very beneficial. I’ve had previous experiences where I’ve felt very uncomfortable putting my potential future home in other peoples hands but with team Steele I never had a doubt. With the current market the home buying process is very stressful and you have to make decisions quick. Not knowing the area I relied heavily on both John and Melissa to properly guide me in choosing a home. In my particular case I saw a home on day 1 and had to have the offer written up by end of day 2. This was my first offer on a home here in San Diego and with their knowledge and expertise I was able to claim this beautiful home as my own.
