Well I stayed there 1 night cause my daughter was in the hospital near by.paid 100 total.Went back the 2nd night the so called manager had an attitude. I asked if he could give me the same price cause of the circumstances. I told him I was there the night before bla bla .He said he couldnt do it cause price changes from min to min in the end he said if you dont like it you can leave practically.I paid 150 the second night. Had no choice I was tired from a long day in the hospital.Not cool.Will not be staying there anymore for sure.
Sketchy area, broken TV, one working light, roaches, and the door to our room was broken and wouldnt shut properly. Luckily they were nice enough to give us a refund so we could relocate to a better hotel.
I didnt even stay. The original place I was staying had their computer systems go down and didnt have our reservation or any rooms left. Happened to 5 of us in the lobby so I called this place. The owner said he had rooms and the price of the rooms. I showed up 2 minutes later to check in and he said with a scam artist smile I just now raised the price $50. When I told him I just talked to you on the phone 2 minutes ago he said he didnt care its his buisness. Well he didnt get my buisness that night. I should have read the reviews 1st before even calling.
Place is ok. It needs to be updated. To bad nobody uses the pool. Maybe the pool should be heated. I would like to see women in swimsuits walking around with a cocktail on hand.
Pros: excellent motel staff - who are all doing a great job. The rooms have very nice large TVs. My room was kept very clean for my entire stay. They have installed security cameras. Police make rounds to the parking lot each morning. The security and safety are being actively managed.Cons: a few noisy motel guests. mattresses are hard. This is not a hotel, its a motel. Light leaks around the room door. Every time I turned on my TV it was at max volume and I had to turn it down. There was a severely dirty chair in my room, it should go to the dumpster. There was a roach trap underneath the sink, but I never did see a roach. Pest control is being actively managed.
3 days ago I flew in and took the last room the lady in front seem new and Curtis was teaching her she had no sense of urgency but room was clean I rebooked and called to ensure that I could check in early since I had surgery and she’s like no it’s nothing available now I’m stuck outside sitting on the steps until the room is ready sad part about it the little big Hispanic lady showed no compassion or sympathy she didn’t care hopefully Curtis or whoever the manager is can do something about this
When the reviews stated that this was not a good place .....I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED! The area was super sketchy. The rooms smelled so bad of smoke it set off my asthma. This was supposed to be a non smoking facility. The rooms were small and out dated. Super over priced for zero amenities. No house cleaning. All they did was remove our towels and did not replace them. I asked way ahead of time for bottom floors because we had an elderly person in our party. Well they end up putting her on the third floor and the elevator broke. Would not recommend to my worse enemy!
30 minutes showers may result in water temperature dropping to icy cold temperature. The bed sheets were a little yellow as well

Everything was okay the only thing was the tv did not change channels and was too tired to have someone come in and look at it. Maybe before renting out rooms they should check that everything is working properly

The front office staff is nice and competent.Paper bag breakfast meal with a bean and cheEse burrito.Takes a while to get your linens and towels exchanged because they wash them before you are going to get them back, apparently there is a shortage on the sheets and towels. long stay customers dont get there room vacuumed unless you borrow the vacuum from the maid, the vacuum is a cheap and in disrepair.There are no CNN OR FOX NEWS channels on the TV. I asked the front desk and they said basically you pay for what you get, this is a budget motel. On the bright side you can walk to a taco shop next door and there is a 24 hour laundry just a short distance away
I dont know how this place has 4 stars, I had to book here last minute and didnt had a chance to read previous reviews otherwise I would have never stayed here(they are all true). First we ask for a non smoking room(my kids have asthma) and we got one that smelled like an ashtray so I asked to be moved to another room, our next room was a little better still smelled humid. Then we notice the emergency exist on our building was blocked, then they didnt clean our room, when I tried to call the front desk, the phone didnt work, so I went to the front desk and they said they would take the towels to our room, that never happened, so I had to go again to the front desk to ask for towels, during check out I ask to be compensated for the inconvenience and they refused to help me cause my reservation was made through a third party, So yeah dont go there!* In regards to your response, on the flip side to the Do Not disturb sign, it says ROOM READY TO BE CLEANED, and that is the side we left on the door, we left at 8am so I dont think I was asking for my room to be cleaned after hours, the emergency exit is nailed shut, since the phone was not working and the elevator was all wet I decided to take the stairs and the door on the first floor which is an emergency exit was nailed shut, so I had to go back to the second floor and go through the other building stairs. Your staff was the one that told me they would get the towels to the room, so it sound they need better training if they are not aware they cant leave the front desk. I can understand we still in a pandemic and there are changes, but the lack of training and customer service of your hotel goes beyond that.
Have been staying here for a week due to RV issues. The room is very comfortable and clean. The location is convenient to the freeway and there are lots of great places to eat around here. Last but most important, the staff here are really nice and helpful. Ive been to many hotels in the area and this is definitely worth your money.
The room was good. The bathroom was clean. found long hairs when I moved the bed sheets. Hopefully the maids. The hotel is near tons of things. You can eat, shop and get your car washed all in a 2 mile radius. The wifi went out which was an issue because I was there on business. I had to trek to the library. Very inconvenient and time consuming being as a chose a hotel for this purpose. The wifi was what made the price good. No apology or compensation from the front desk. No bueno. Everything else was fine.

Booked this hotel for 4 nights coz of positive reviews and i like best western hotels. When u go vacation u want to stay in a place that is clean and relaxing but this place is nothin like that. the floor needs to be fixed,its dirty looks like they didnt vacuum, dirty walls and tub. Dont feel safe because see people u dont wanna be around in that area. It was the worst room i ever been in a hotel. Requested for a diff.room but still the same. So family and i decided to checkout. We booked it thru 3rd party so we still got charged for 2 nights eventhough we didnt stay there. I hope that the hotel will make an effort to fix their rooms and actually clean it. Or do a bit of renovation.
Positive: The convince it was to get around was nice. The room itself was clean and nice. Negative: Several things in the bathroom. There was grease on the light switch and walls (from what, I don¿t know). The towels had some sort of red marker (or I hope it was) and boogers on them. Water pressure sucked. Someone called our room 2x at 2 am.
Im baffled this place has such good reviews. The parking is skimp, theres old mattresses tucked behind the building, and the mattresses are very lumpy. The price is very cheap and the hotel guests seem to reflect the type of people that stay at a cheap hotel (one woman organized her makeup bag on the ground in front of our room until around 2am). But the worst part was the breakfast. Despite advertising on priceline, and on their phone message, that they offered a hot breakfast they would not give us breakfast because we booked our room on priceline. Has anyone else even heard of such an asinine policy? So, after the tweaker next door kept us up all night we woke up to the front desk denying us the few pastries they were offering. Total BS and I will not stay here again.
I will give it 4 stars, but really more like with a caveat. It was clean and in a really good location. The price was good as well. I think it could do with a different outside look. Maybe it was me.

Its ok. This was only our 2nd time staying at a sure stay. The 1st was in phoenix where the room was alot better and cheaper. This one was a totally different story. The room smelt as if a chain smoker stayed there. But it was supposed to be a non smoking place. The elevator broke down didnt get our room clean etc...... Location is great. The mall is literally right down the street. They have a 7 11 and a pretty good taco shop right next door.
OK so where to start. The pictures of this place make it look like a nice place and the price looks nice to. On arrival the fairytale went bad. So drove up and was hesitant having my wife getting out the truck to go check us in so after she got out I went to go find parking. Had to call my wife and tell her to come back to the truck and lock the doors. There were crackheads all over working on junk cars probably looking at what the can scrap out of it for money and have it still drive and 2 guys taking apart bikes and not mentioning the barb wire all over making me think I was going to visit someone in prison. So ya please save your safe the drive there and go spend the extra 30 bucks and stay at a Marriott. Thankfully the gentleman at the front desk refunded our money after looking at the security cameras and apologizing to use with the expression on his face that he needs to start looking for a better place to work. Sorry I had to give this place 1 star but without it I couldnt write this and hopefully spare you the trauma.
Customer service is awesome, Zack took absolutely good care of us. He is the person to talk to and he gets things done. Room was nice and comfortable. Will come here again.
It was a nice, clean room. Neighbors were actually pretty quiet, the area is a little sketch but nothing too bad or scary. The staff was friendly. My only complaint was that there was no smoke detectors... isnt that a safety hazard, and illegal?
This Hotel is conveniently located close to everything. The staff is very helpful and nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable with all necessities you will need. They also have a great comp breakfast.

We arrived late after driving for 21 hours straight so we were exhausted, we walked into our room and there was crusty stains on the sheets,blankets, chair, decor pillow, curtains.... we called the front desk and the employees were very kind and helpful and sent up new sheets/blankets right away. Next, keep an eye on your belongings, I accidentally dropped one of my bags on the way to my room and when I went to grab it it had been stolen, so in a matter of ten minutes or less someone with no morals felt the need to take my bag from my dead aunt that was only filled toiletries and my contacts....that same day another womans bag was stolen, so just be extra cautious. I am only giving it four stars because the staff was nice. They need to have a talk with whoever is cleaning the rooms and ask them to really pay attention to detail but thats the only downfall on their part.

It’s alright as far as a 2 star hotel goes. The young woman working the desk when I checked in was great, very funny and sweet. She was engaging which was a nice change of pace for the night I was having. She set the tone for my stay which was a pleasant experience all around.
Excellent rooms, clean and well maintained. Front office staff are courteous and always very helpful and their disposition friendly. They hired painters who were painting and talking loudly in front of my door at 3:30am and throughout the night. Why?I wrote a review on Trip Advisor and they responded by saying they wanted to talk and find a solution. This was a lie, I called and they said no manager was available and would not return my phone calls.Also a lot of late night activity in general at this hotel, avoid at all costs.
When I come out and stay in Chula Vista I always look to stay at the sure stay plus hotel in Chula Vista.They its like a home away from home for me.I know I keep coming back because the management staff here is awesome they are one of the nicest kindest and professional people Ive met.Besides the location of the hotel,size of the rooms, prices , &cleanliness of the property. The property manager is one of the reason why I keep coming back .I totally recommend everyone to come out here and stay and youll see what Im talking about
Very clean,the staff is nice and helpful, the discount app with no sec. dep. makes itp affordable lots of parking and best yet is no drama! Very relaxing to see smiling faces instead of cops, handcuffs, guns, yelling & angry people! Nothing worse then when u wake up to a a bunch of cops with guns drawn and management walking around like its not happening. Surstay is definitely a great place to stay for a nite or a week. Anything u need theyll try to accommodate. Very impressed with this hotel and even more with the staff. Great job everyone, Im glad I stayed with u. Thank u for the positive view when all seems so sad and hard on everybody to show a lil bit of kindness! I look forward to staying with Surstay again!
Mom was charged for 2 rooms when she only needed one. She talked to the front desk the same day and was not refunded. Next day she talked to someone else and they tell her they wont refund it. What kind of business is this trying to take advantage of the elderly.
This place looked good on the website, but when we went to check in at 9:00 at night, it was surrounded by homeless people. It was disgusting, and we did not feel comfortable leaving our car in the parking lot. Even though we had pre paid for our room, we did NOT feel comfortable about staying there, so we left and went and stayed somewhere else. All the reviews and pictures are super deceiving and I feel bad for anyone who thinks they are going to be staying in a nice area. It is a very ghetto area.
I expected better. I went here with my girlfriend Cecilia L. I am Bernard V. The AC unit didnt work properly. It was hot and very uncomfortable even during the summer heat. Too many people around the corners selling drugs to each other. I dont think these guys clean their sheets. Im sorry. I was hot, sweating, no AC, too many thugs, and itchy. The coffee wasnt caffeinated. The toilet paper was very low had to ask front desk for another. Most uncomfortable experience ever.
The rooms were large and clean. Beds comfortable and warm to sleep in. Complementary breakfast was really good! I had a great experience. Ray helped me at the front desk. He was friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions and helped me get a room quick for a reasonable price. I will definitely be coming back.
Never do what is asked and they should do. First stay in June, during entire stay told them daily there was no smoke alarm in room, finally installed one on morning we left. Second stay two weeks ago, constantly told mgmt., office personnel we need two wash cloths, only got one whenever they cleaned room which was every other day or so. Had to buy own toilet paper second night. Always claiming they were short linen and was told they got tissue from China (Lmao).
The staff is very kind in communication and offering service to me as I need them. The room service is always splendid. I am a veteran and its an honor to stay with the surestay hotel as they accommodate veterans with a special discount.

I give this place a five star raiting. The staff are very help and very nice. We you need something they get it for you without an attitude. The first thing i noticed was the smell of the room. It smelled so clean. The blankets were clean and the bathroom was clean. Plenty of towels. Oh and ita an a decent area too. I recomend this place. We will come back again. We enjoyed everything about our stay at SureStay and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Quick check in and check out. The prices were affordable and fair. Rooms were big and the beds were very comfortable. The rooms were also very clean.
The room was clean but our first day breakfast never showed up we went down at 7:30 they said it was late and would be coming at 8:30 went down at 8:30 and it still wasnt there second day it was to go brown bags with a frozen burrito boiled eggs and a granola bar but I had called ahead to make sure they were still doing full breakfast during covid so we were quite disappointed

This is the worst place to stay at. We couldnt find something better cause it was 11pm. When we got to our room our neighbor were up all night making all kind of noise. Our room had this smell I didnt like. Garbage in the parking lot. I dont recommend staying here.

Terrible area. Woke up with a rash the first day. Only stayed 2 nights. A month after I got home with this rash that didnt go away. Realized it wasnt a rash at all. That I got bed bugs from this disgusting hotel

The rooms where ok. But when it raines the water lands on the AC units and comes into the room onto the floor and it gets the wall all soggy where it touches the AC. And another reason I gave them 2 stars is because they take a 100 deposit for each room even if you use a credit card. But it has been almost 6 weeks since I stayed there and I just talked to my bank and they didnt give me my 200$ back yet! I will have to call them tmro. I highly recommend the Rambler hotel a few blocks away its a waaaaay better establishment then this one by far.

The front desk personal were very very kind. But, I did get my car broken into and never a call back from the manager.
I stayed at surestay yesterday I got to get in the pool the service wus great sometimes I stay 3 days at a time GOOD HOTEL. TO RELAX
Other then the bad attitude from the lady at the desk who had that smirk on her face like she was going to refuse to speak up or get closer because I couldnt hear her (medical issue) after repeatedly saying to her I couldnt hear her. Besides that I was completely pleased with the hotel.
My room was extremely clean and very big. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and flat screen TV. There were also extra side tables in the room so you can eat at the table. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The location is good and nearby the 5 freeway, Costco and Walmart. If I was in Chula Vista again I would definitely stay here.

The New renovations makes this place look a thousand times better. The amenities are wonderful. This is the best place to stay on Broadway by far. They have cable, free internet, hot breakfast, ice machine, pool, mini fridge and microwaves in every room. The beds are extremely comfortable with a iron and ironing board in every room. They have convient parking and a elevator for those on the upper floor. The rooms are clean and the staff is wonderful. You wont be disappointed with your stay. The hotel is also located 100ft away from a 7/11 and a taco shop which I have found to be very useful.

We had a room next to the ice machine. Very noisy. Bad location. Also at dawn a person entered the pool area, I imagine myself drugged. In the end the administrator took her out. It has a good parking area and there are many things nearby
The hotel is horrible in terms of customer service, I last renting the room for 1 month and they never wanted to clean the room, the carpet had a bad smell, they left me without a TV for 2 days, Internet: I couldnt play with a video game console since it was super slow, they changed the sheets 1 time and because I spoke to the cleaning girls they did not put paper in the bathroom. Terrible for the prices, there is because we had a family member in the hospital and they had to come to family neighborhoods and others to leave and it was close to the hospital .... in my opinion, terrible services. He said that breakfast is included eye 👁 is a bottle of water with an energy bar. LOL

If you take a car I recommend it, it is about 10 minutes from the Americas outlets, because the price is better than the hotels near the Mall and its advantage is that it includes a full breakfast, eggs, bread, juice, coffee etc, very complete breakfast. Recommended!
Excellent hotel to rest. Clean and good attention. Breakfast with few options but meets your goal. Ample parking and good location.

2022-03-08Highly recommended ... Office Staff Zack & Razu are professional, knowledgeable, patient and kind. They go above and beyond to accommodate request guest may have in every way possible. New Guy HARRY is awesome his professionalism is impressive, even tho hes a young man he has great work ethic, handles stressful situations well , his professional manner stays intact. All the gentlemen/staff in check in office are pleasant and professional always a breeze to check in.Rooms have proper hygiene maids definitely include deep cleaning and pay attention to detail, as u walk in theres always a clean fresh pleasant scent no trace of musty smells left behind. Price very reasonable, this is a all around well run establishment. Its always a pleasant experience to do business. Definitely worth every penny. If u need a room in Chula Vista, Sure Stay plus on Broadway is the best choice!! :)

2022-03-03The first 2 rooms strongly smelled like cigarette smoke. All management need to do is shampoo the carpet to get the smell.Finally got a room that was supposedly their nicest. The AC didnt work, multiple lights were dead and the noise level constantly woke my partner and I up.To top it off there was a cockroach hanging out to next the sink the morning of our first and last night here.

2022-07-03We stayed here while training at the San Diego Circus Center, and when we booked and arrived, didnt have super high expectations, but the rooms and customer service exceeded expectations and its extremely convenient for a group of hungry athletes who need nourishment, its right next to an AMAZING taco shop. Id come back. Its a great spot for our needs.

2022-02-07I booked for 3 nights checked in very late from a long drive. Zach attended me. He was very polite helpful and a pleasure to talk to. I went to my room and heater did not work i called the front office Zach came right up got it working. The room was very nice and clean. will definitely stay there whenever i come back!! thank you Izia Wimbish

2022-04-25I don’t know what all these other reviews are talking about, our stay at this hotel was aweful. We checked in, and went to our room and the first thing we saw on the bed was three bed bugs(what I assume to be bed bugs, they sure did look like it) crawling on top, as well as the smell of cigarettes . We went immediately to the front desk and got a new room. This room too smelled like cigarettes, as well as mold. The tv was already on like someone had just left. The beds are insanely hard, and the walls are paper thin. I heard everything and I mean everything our neighbors said word for word. They were up ALL night. Safe to say we got aweful sleep. Overall, the experience was sketchy and bad. I will not be staying here again.

2022-03-31WORST PLACE EVER. The room was dirty… floors were sticky, awful smell, sheets had hair on them, shower was disgusting. We were in the room for maybe 10 minutes and decided we did not want to stay there. I went to the front desk to request to cancel the room and refund the payment. The lady at the front desk had an attitude and texted the property manager to which he told her no because I “moved the sheets”. I then asked to be moved to a different room that was clean and was denied a clean room because again I “moved the sheets”. DO NOT STAY HERE.

2022-05-20Our archery team came to stay here for a national championship. there were stab marks in the mattresses, blood stains, used needles, gang signs and strange men everywhere so after about 15 minutes, we packed up and got right back on the bus without another word, our girls felt really unsafe there. definitely knew something was up when a man asked why kids were staying at the hotel. not safe at all.

2022-06-10Eh. The staff wasnt very friendly, the elevator is sketchy as can be, but the room WAS clean! they were still renovating and it was very obvious. There were water stain patch work marks on the ceiling. Looks like they only replaced some things. But on a crunch, it works!

2022-03-06Its a decent place to stay, but not great. Breakfast sucks, got a frozen burrito for breakfast and only lasts till 9am. Didnt even offer a non cooked breakfast bag when I got there at 9:15. Also, no reciept for room was offered.
