First, Standard Appliance was open on Saturday! They had the transformer I needed in stock! Mario was extremely helpful. As usual the wires on the new one did not match the colors or number of wires from the old one. Mario set up the new one for me with wire nuts and connectors. He explained it the simplest way possible. He was patient with my questions, which I am sure he has heard a thousand times! Super nice guy, would highly recommend! Got home, put it in and successfully have my AC up and running again! Will definitely be going here for my appliance and HVAC needs. Thank you Mario!
You can really tell when somebody hates their life and job because they are rude and terse to their customers.Bought a condenser fan motor and had an AC technician put it in. Finally AC works after a few days in triple digit heat...However, 3 days later motor stopped working, I call Mario which I presume to be the owner or manager and since day one I already did not like the guy with how he was talking to me on the phone...Straight rude and you can tell he just wants to get you out as soon as possible. He starts to tell me that the HVAC technician connected it wrong. Am I just supposed to believe that somebody thats not even licensed is telling me that an HVAC technician connected it wrong? lol! Didnt even want to warranty the motor (these motors have manufacturer warranty.) He then proceeds to get angry and takes my debit card, issues a refund, and then throws it across the table like a little child with a temper tantrum.Be better, Mario, go and find some peace and a better job that you actually enjoy, because it really shows how much you hate your life. Customer service is really not your specialty either.Do not go here, there are hundreds of places that are actually happy to gain your business.
We used to order bulk orders from Ron and Mario the owner of Standard Appliance.Until January when our order was pre paid for as usual then did not get delivered. It was normal for our order to take a few weeks to get in as they ordered them from ERP who they are an authorized dealer of. Well we never received our parts and after many months of getting the run around we are out $1,586.94. Ron kept saying that Mario is the only one that can order them, then they would tell be they were back ordered. I finally requested a refund. Ron again told me that Mario needs to process that. After all this time we are still out our money and will have to file in small claims court...A big waste of time and a really shady business to run. How embarrassed I would be if I were Mario.I will tell every dealer I know of this situation. Obviously the money was spent and not on our parts that were ordered...buyers beware.UPDATE:Mario did reach out and apologized months later and refunded our order in full since we never received the merchandise.
My furnace stopped working on a sub-freezing morning and I panicked. Then I diagnosed the problem part and scoured Google Maps for a local HVAC company that would sell me a replacement, but they all want to send their technician out (the next day, I might add) which is $80+ right off the bat. I knew there had to be a place for the do-it-yourself-er like me and I found out that place is called Standard Appliance & HVAC Supply. I brought the part in and they were able to bench test it and confirm it was bad and had just one left in stock. I have a feeling it was a bit overpriced for what it was, but still cheaper than having someone else diagnose it and probably waiting days for them to get the part in and installing it. Instead, I had the heat back on within 20 minutes of getting home and my Wife and 15-month old are comfortable and happy.
I decided to fix my own washing machine, I did some research (aka YouTube) and figured out the problem. I went over there with my bad part but Daniel kindly showed me how to break it down further to get to the problem thus saving me considerably. They wont do it for you but they were all very pleasant and friendly. I expected to get the usual parts-counter-snobby-know-it-all attitude created especially for us diy-ers (peasants) but far from it. These guys really know their stuff and seem to enjoy their work! Oh, and by the way, I needed parts for a Kenmore so I thought I would have to get parts from Sears but Standard Appliance also carries them.
Needed an igniter for my furnace. Theyre helpful, seem to have inventory, provided the igniter on the spot. HOWEVER, their price was more than three time the online prices with free shipping. I like to support local business and am willing to pay a little more to do it, but triple plus appears usury. Was tempted to take the part back, but swallowed hard and installed it. I would encourage more competitive pricing, especially for such a routine part. Not sure Id swallow hard again.
I really wish I could give more than 5 stars. As a DIYer these guys really stepped up to help. If all brick and mortar stores took care of their customers like they took care of me, the Amazon would go out of business. They are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I know where I will going for all my appliance and HVAC parts.
Terrible customer service... went to get a compressor for my AC unit. Everywhere else the the part was $17.00 this place charged me $55.00. The only reason I bought it because I really needed the part today. The place is a rip off, taking advantage of people with doubling their prices.....avoid this place if you can. They have no return or exchange policy.
- * reviewCalled asking for a Capacitor for my home AC unit. My AC unit broke when it was 103 F outside. I gave him the sizes of what I was looking for Dual Run Capacitor 35 + 5 UF/MFD 370 Volt. The guy on the phone says Yeah we have them here, come down to our store and will find you one. I asked how much is it? He said $55 dollars. I told him WOW they are $14.00 online. He said yeah, but I got techs and employees to pay.I checked online again and I found Grainger in west Sacramento have them for $20 dollars. Standard Appliance & HVAC Supply are ripping off their costumers. I understand being a smaller operation, but 36% increase is not OK.
I needed a thermostat for the ice maker in my Whirlpool fridge. These guys said that they are not available separately and that Id have to buy a whole new unit for $160 plus tax. I found the thermostat at another store in Sac for $25 otd. As well, Whirlpool sells new ice makers on line for $85 including shipping. They are also available for as little as $40 as discount shops. Really, Standard? You lie that the thermostat is not available then try to charge double what Whirlpool does for the entire unit?! Ill never go back.
This place is horrible rip ppl off so bad last time i was looking for a part and i didnt know what to go, passed by this place went inside to get a part it cost me $185 after i look up online it only cost $85 including shipping also. after you paid no return or exchange
I just recently found Standard Appliance and was pleasantly surprised at not only the really helpful and experienced counter staff, but the great selection of major manufacturer appliances. I know the first place Ill go whenever I have a problem with any of appliances and thats Standard.

2022-07-19These guys were great!! I use to do hvac about 20 years ago and needed parts on my own system, only place in town that would sell to a non contractor. Also the guy made sure it was installed correctly walked me through the steps because I was second guessing. And tested the parts before sale. Great place noting bad to say.

2022-09-02Purchased HVAC Capacitor here today; charged $50. Amazon has it for $19, and granger around $20. Didn’t make a fuss because I like to support the local stores, but this is just pure and simple greed. I’m not willing to go broke for some guy charging way over the average price of parts and will never shop here again if can help it.

2022-07-25Called to see if they had a part and gentleman sounded in a hurry. Tried to just give me their address to go in and afterwards I asked if he had the part because I dont live in the area and looked it up and gave me one price. Then I call back because forgot to ask if it was same brand and another gentleman answers and gives me an higher price. To ke they are just randomly pulling prices out of their heads whatever comes up.

2022-01-30Called ahead 10 mins before closing. They had the parts I needed and stayed open so that I could get our heater going. Not only did they stay open, but upon arrival gave me tips and a quick explanation of the installation process. Prices were competitive with online + the explanation was well worth coming. Ive been ordering parts here for years and Im always pleased with the service and reliability of parts being there when you need them.

2022-06-24The only place I could find which had the correct A/C capacitor in stock, Amazon was a few too many hot days away. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
