There was quite a good selection of items here. A lot of furniture and household goods. My biggest issue is the prices they had for their items were very high for being a Thrift store. A lot of items were close to retail for being used and old items. I think they need to have someone who knows what theyre doing go and price things out better. Other than that the place was fairly clean. The only things priced pretty decently were books, which they had a large selection of. Unfortunately the books were very unorganized, youd have to spend a long time fishing through them...
It’s a nice store overall. They have the biggest book section I’ve ever seen among local thrift stores and the books are really cheap here. Also great selection of furniture, some items are brand new (donated buy local furniture stores?) but those can be pricy which kinda makes sense I guess. Houseware section isn’t so great here although I bought some nice things like a kitchen compost bin but never found any good mugs or salad bowls. Women’s clothing section is nice, big assortment of jeans but NO FITTING ROOM unfortunately. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that lately they failed to open at their regular opening time twice. I was there yesterday at 10:30 and today at 10:15 and both times the gate was closed and there was a line of cars waiting for them to open but they left eventually so did I.
This place is a great treasure trove. Its got tons of furnature from tables couches lamps shelves dinettes and more. A whole section of books. Kitchen and housewares. Clothes shoes and accessories. Even holiday decor. If you go on the right day you can even get it discounted. Service is pretty friendly also. If you are shopping for that unique piece try looking here. Its hard to leave empty handed.
I like shopping here- nice people and I always find great books and things. Only complaint is that I wish theyd stop writing prices directly on the items with Sharpie pens. Often I cant get it off no matter how much I scrub it and its very disappointing. Otherwise, great thrift store!
Mens clothing is nice slightly used and new stuff mixed in. The book section is well stocked and organized as is rest of entertainment section. Furniture takes up a good large section and the other aisles are fun to walk down and look for something specific like a set of plates while I spot interesting items I forgot I needed like an ice-mold in the shape of an animal. There is stuff I never thought Id see again and a bunch more home necessities that are priced nice and low.
Since when do thrift stores charge retail prices? I came to look for plastic storage totes figuring it would be cheaper um... no! you might as well go to Walmart and buy it new for the same price. Really disappointed i donated alot of nice stuff here someone less fortunate still wouldnt be able to afford it 😕.
Honestly not the greatest thrift store around but not the worst. They have a pretty limited selection of things like electronics, household appliances, jewelry, ect. They DO have a lot of books, which I appreciate. And a decent selection of clothes. Every once in a while Ill find a nice shirt or neat set of interesting coasters. I also managed to grab a laptop bag for my work computer for $2. It all just depends on their stock, like most thrift stores. Its generally hit or miss here, but its worth a shot popping in from time to time to see what they have.
Ive been going to this place for years. Store set up, stuff work ethic depends on the manager of the time... Sometimes staff is rude, and place is unorganized sometimes the stuff is friendly place is nicely organized, things are priced reasonable.... It depends on your luck .. if you want to donate furniture you need to call them first, sometimes they say were not accepting furniture right now...
This is a really solid thrift store. I feel like this is one of the few thrift stores in the bay are where I actually have a shot at finding some nice things. Staff is really professional and courteous, even were nice enough to respond to a message I sent asking about specific items. Best of all its for a good cause, not much more I could ask for! Happy thrifting!
We spoke in person to a worker while dropping off donations to make sure that they would accept furniture. Then when we showed up with our lightly used designer couch in very good condition they refused to take it and argued that no one would have said otherwise. WTF! Be forewarned, they are clueless.
It used to be my favorite thrift store until they start more expensive than ross or walmart. I am not only a regular costumer but also I always donate my things here because I know it will help a lot of people.. but so disappointing because their prices are unreasonable even a used plate could cost $2.Some of the employees are rude when you start questioning the price she just gave and she will say oh i we are not walmart, i dont care how low their price which an item is used and the same price as the new item in walmart. Also they have posted prices that they dont follow. I just bought a bag which is posted 4.99 and the lady sold it to me for 6.99. I showed her the posted prices, and she said we dont follow those things and asked her again why it was posted and she said we are too busy to remove themI just wanna make a point here, you get money drom people who buy DONATED stuffs that you guys didnt spend a penny. Why pricing them too much?! I think your management should reconsider or retrain your employees before people will stop patronizing your store.
Dont come here to donate anything. We drove over from menlo park with an SUV full of clothes, computers, and other household wares. When we arrived they said they dont want anything from our car (before looking at it). They said they only want books and clothes. They also noted they wont take Ikea furniture (which we dont have). Apparently they can afford to be picky. I didnt give them the clothes I did have, since they said they didnt want anything. Waste of my time and gas. Id avoid this place if youre looking for a place to donate to.
Huge warehouse-like thrift store, it is very well organized. So organized, that they even have a shelf full of ceramic cat sculptures! This area of town must have a lot of cat ladies getting rid of their stuff or...well, you probably get the idea.Anyway, I was on a quest to find a Hawaiian dress for my daughter. I found the clothes area disorganized and overpriced. I mean, $8 for a pair of pants? And these were just run-of-the-mill pants. They do have an impressive book area however. All hardcover books are $1 unless otherwise marked. I am a book lover and have run out of spaces to put books, so despite finding books on my favorite manga character Atom Boy and other artsy fartsy books, I showed restraint and walked away empty-handed.One interesting quirk about this spot, is that they must get donations from stores who have overstock. One time, I bought some very nice wooden framed art pieces for $.50 each that are still in my house. This time it was dozens of styrofoam tiki dolls, still in their cellophane packaging, they were only $.25 each. Thankfully I dont collect those.
Found a necklace and thought it was pretty for my neice..the necklace was hanging from a stand with other necklaces and i picked it up and took to the counter and i found a couple of gold colored bracelets as well..i took to the register and the hispanic girl was very very rude! She told me that the bracelets were a dollar and there was no sign of prices she said that some of the bracelets were $1$2$3$4.??? Ok? So at the register she charged me $2 a bracelet..u can clearly see that they werent gold..almost like toy bracelets..and as she was ringing me up..she asked the manager if they were real gold so the manager walks up picks up the bracelets and has them in her hand as if ...if they had been real gold they wouldnt hce givin them to me for just $1 or $2. So she said no...not gold...and the necklace i found on the necklace rack wasnt priced neither so she asked another woman if the necklace was real silver...that woman then came over and checked it found a 925/silver mark and charged me $12 for the necklace..and when u said that they were on the rack with other necklaces she said that they were only $2.99 for them ..? Yet the necklace i found wasnt priced yet or at all??? The girl had bright lipstick and black spandec pants and straight out of the ghetto additude! Not very freindly didnt give me a receipt just looked at me and didnt say word...maybe they need to get a price gun and put somebody to work! Goodluck on your trip to this store...NO STARS ....1 star because no option for none!?

2022-05-31I didn’t find anything I liked but this place is legit. Spacious and they have a lot of stuff. Prices seem fair, items in decent shape.Edit: The prices are much higher now and the shelves were pretty empty. I noticed that they are writing their prices directly on the items with sharpie which was a bummer. There were a couple items I wanted but I already felt the pricing was a little high the permanent marker to reduces the value further so I didn’t purchase anything.I found a used .99 cent candle for $2 and many picture frames with photos of the original owners still inside. I won’t be coming back.

2022-02-27This place is great for a treasure hunt. Ive bought many things here over the years. But their security is a big bully and should be fired. They were trying to close early today for some reason and tons of people were in line to check out. An old man came in last minute and was told to leave by the security guy. He wouldnt leave since it wasnt yet the official closing time and things escalated from there. The security guy screamed at him, threatened to call the police. It got really bad and went on and on. I and all these these other customers are still in line. It doesnt hurt anyone to let him look real quick. Theres no need to treat people, especially customers this way. That security guy is a loose cannon and should not be dealing with people.

2019-04-06Donating here is so easy! Drive through the gates on the right of the building during their donation days and hours. Pull up to the stop sign and a person will help you. Today they accepted my blankets and scrapbooking luggage bag. They don’t take kids toys or pilllows. Hand your bags to the helpers; do not set them on the ground.

2021-12-28Decent supply and Ive purchased many things over several years. Giving a 3-Star because Covid 6ft social distancing is NOT enforced. Also, in store Staff has been pretty darn rude at times but the people in back where donations are... are good. No issues with them. Id suggest the inside staff relaxes more and try to be more patient with patrons. Times are hard for many. Nobody wants to go treasure hunting with scowling faces making them feel uncomfortable. Tighten up.

2021-10-05I love this spot. Really good selection of things and way better prices than the Goodwill. An insane collection of books and fabric too! The donation area usually has a line of cars, so be ready for a wait if dropping off.

2021-12-18A fellow worker of mine (a Mexican American) was profiled earlier today in the store. They believed since he was carrying a backpack (like most men) that he was going to steal their already used items. He approached a cashier who did not even apologize for the harassment as he was followed throughout the entire store. They tried speaking in Spanish in front of him hoping he wouldn’t understand but failed to realize that Spanish is also his native language. And once it was established that he was able to understand them they gave him a childish attitude and no apology for the harassment. They tried to dismiss his awful experience by stating that they profile everyone who comes into the store. (This was stated by the perpetrator who followed my employee) A summation of what she stated was that she “knows” who is going to steal and who won’t based off of the way they look. Now that is textbook for racial profiling and does not stand in my non profit organization and our community. This will be taken to higher ups.

2022-04-23The worse clothing. Everything is old, dirty and unorganized. The furniture is EXPENSIVE for second hand. There is a large selection of books but they are overpriced as well. My advice is go to Hayward and shop ECO thrift, you get quality and cleanliness every time. Designer clothes at thrift prices plus additional mark downs every day.

2021-12-15It’s a great place to shop, I’ve found some great goodies over the years.Leaving a 3 star review instead of 5 for the RUDE lady sitting at the front door. She sits in her phone with her mask pulled down to her chin then yells “I have to scan you” waving a temperature gun at you. Uhhhh….. first off get some tact cuz you look like a customer playing on your phone sitting by the door, second of all if you have to scan my temperature don’t sit at the door with your mask at your chin. She continued to do the same to every patron that walked in the door, so loud and rude. I am no mask enforcer and I would be fine without one in general but it just makes no sense to be rude and wear your mask at your chin.
