Stayed here twice this month for softball tournaments. The room was clean spacious and the couch and desk area was a plus. The morning breakfast was extremely convenient for those early game start times with plenty of seating for the whole team. Will return, again, the next time our tournament is played in Modesto. BTW...nice pool, too!
Booked 2 Queen suite - one room tv and phone was not working. I spoke with front desk and have that fixed in seconds. We were moved to another room and the front desk was super pleasant and nice. The room looked exactly like the photos online. I was there for my grandmas funeral. I booked two rooms for my whole family and everyone was very pleased. I was pleased to see they offer complimentary breakfast. Extremely happy they offer hot food - only eggs and turkey bacon but it was better then nothing. I was extremely happy to see how much they were doing to protect the guest by offering gloves while grabbing breakfast.
Went to Modesto to for a family funeral. Selected this property as it seemed to be the best option. Turns out I was wrong. I understand this is not a luxury brand hotel, however I thought Marriott had standards. You can see grime build up within the sequined wall paper. The bathroom smelled like urine. The bathtub was stained brown and pink. The staff was amazing - they were very friendly and accommodating to the best of their ability.
We stayed here for a family issue that required our presence, otherwise we would not have been traveling during the pandemic. With that in mind the hotel seemed fairly clean and quiet. There was no view and was located on a busy street near the freeway. The odor of air freshener was almost overwhelming when entering the hotel but is thankfully not in the rooms themselves. The noisy air conditioner worked well though and that was a godsend in the oppressive heat. Our room had both a small refrigerator and a tiny microwave with paper cups and plates available. These came in handy after a long day. We were given an ADA compliant room that was odd because it was not requested and had little counter or luggage space, the bathroom was oddly configured with a folding bench permanently attached to the bath and a maze of hand rails at every conceivable spot but the room was adequate, even comfortable if you managed to get around the luggage safely. I would stay here again if necessary, something I wouldn’t say about the doubletree downtown where I also had to stay, on this extended visit for family matters.
This hotel seems nice from the outside and the rooms are decent. The floor we stayed on smelled like a porta potty for the entire 6 nights we were there. They do not clean the rooms daily or even every other day. They do it once a week. If you are staying for a length of time with children it is not an ideal hotel. It is mainly suited for residents. The keycard door system had to be reactivated everyday sometimes twice, so we couldn’t get into our rooms without going to the front desk first. For the cost, I would expect the smell to be pleasant and the rooms to be cleaned AT LEAST every other day. If you ask them for anything (towels) they ask you to come down to the lobby and get them, which is fine, but it’s a flaw due to lack of staff. Everyone was pleasant, but the price is too high for what it is.
Like I said earlier, the stay was fine. The staff are awesome at making you feel welcome and appreciated. The cleaning staff for the rooms needs some guidance on not removing personal items from the room without explicit directions from the occupant. The room makes it rather easy to complete our work while we are there. The towel situation is not very good. There were two of us in the room and we basically had to go for towels everyday because they give two people three towels at a time!
The hotel seems nice and is in a decent location. We were given room 104 and the rooms on the 1st floor have very tall ceilings so it felt special. The pullout was the reason we booked this hotel. The room smelled a lot (damp, stale, dirty feet smell) on entry however and the carpet was very stained. We werent going to worry about it. Then, we pulled out the pullout. First, there was popcorn and a candy wrapper in the bed. The we saw a dead bug, then we noticed many black debris specks that we assume was bed bug debris. Then we found more bug parts. We also noticed 2 large stains on the mattress that were brownish red, it was disgusting. We immediately called the desk and she offered to switch our room or have maintenance come check it out. Of course we switched. The new room on the 3rd floor was cleaner for sure but by now, we were totally grossed out. The front desk was not apologetic. The pool is tiny so if you are wanting a nice pool, this is not the place. We were disappointed in the stay.
I had a last minute emergency and needed a place to stay, upon arriving and the whole time the staff was very friendly and accommodating for myself and my son who has disabilities and had just had a seizure in the car shortly before arriving. The young lady that checked us in helped to make sure we had a room on the bottom floor. The only critic is the rooms are a little small (at least mine felt that way) and was supposed to be a king suite. But would definitely recommend staying there if you come to Modesto
This hotel was nice and clean. I was extremely satisfied with my experience. My only issue was with checking out usual lots of people and would have been time consuming so I usually just call it in but for some reason I didn’t. Then I just remembered later that afternoon and was able to get a receipt via email. Need that for reimbursement was thankful they could help.
Clean, tidy hotel with great internet and comfortable rooms. Located close to restaurants and basic stores. I was moving and very tired and the night I stayed was comfortable enough to make me consider staying an extra day to rest and relax before proceeding with my trip. Free breakfast was not fantastic, but well within what I’d expect from a free hotel breakfast. There was hot eggs and sausage (which was unexpected) and a selection of packaged breakfast goods.
We brought our dog and didnt realize its a $150 pet fee. Website should have made that amount clear. I stayed in rm 104 found hair left from other guest in the shower, stains / sticky marks on carpet, and crumbs? Dirt? On pull out bed. Same as previous review. Went up to front desk and we couldnt change room due to availability but front desk was very apologetic and waived dog fee for condition room was still in even after past review. Majority of room is very nice. Tesla Destination chargers are very clearly marked for EV vehicles and was no issue parking.
I was placed in an ADA accessible room as others were not available to me at the time of check-in. This room wasnt as comfortable for my needs. I accepted it to be able to get into a room sooner. Its hard for me to judge as I would have liked to have seen a regular suite. (I couldnt hang my garment bag like I would have in a regular closet, no bathtub but rather an ADA accessible walk-in shower, very small bathroom sink area, etc)
The entire staff was friendly and attentive. Anything I needed was provided promptly and without issue. I stayed for a few months for work, and the managers Reema and Hollie were so accommodating, and provided a sense of home away from home. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the amenities were close and convenient. Great hotel!
Canceled a reservation because I was banned from staying in their hotel for no given reason. called and spoke with the manager who was friendly and stated there was a mix up and invited me to stay anytime. a little too late after being rejected and forced to make arrangements at 11pm when I had to work at 6am the next day. Hilton treats their members better from my experience. I am Titanium Elite at Marriott and Diamond at the Hilton . leaning towards Hilton for future stays .
My experience staying at Springhill Suites Modesto has always exceeded my expectations. The rooms are laid out really well, keeping the space to work separate from the sleeping/relaxing area. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, and are always very clean. The bed is quite comfortable with bright fresh smelling sheets and nice pillows. The staff are friendly and helpful.
No complaints here. The room was a good size and had a desk, sectional, refrigerator, and microwave in the room. It is conveniently a few miles down the same road as Doctors Hospital, which allowed me to go easily from the hotel to the hospital and back within minutes.
First impression are everything. As soon as you walk in the staff is super friendly! They answer all your questions and are down to earth people. The presentation of the hotel and the decor was really welcoming and made you feel at home. The hotel smelled really nice and the carpets are well maintained. The room, everything about the room was perfect. The layout was perfect, the mattress was super comfortable, the decor was great and you didnt fell suffocated in the room. Our room had a slight issue but the staff took care of it right way and gave us a few accommodations for the issue. Was not looking for one but they were super professional. Thank you again for an amazing stay, I shall return
First of all want to say that the hotel is beautiful the lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are very very nice high ceilings beds are super comfortable with wonderful sitting area In the room. The staff is very friendly and you feel like you’re at home but you’re in a very nice clean contemporary hotel. Can’t say enough about the housekeepers Ruth and Helena go over and beyond their jobs. The manager Reema was extremely helpful very professional and friendly.I would highly recommend this hotel for the beauty for the friendliness of the wonderful beds and the breakfast.I felt very safe here and I felt like it was home.
In case you missed the small print (like we did) it is $150 to have your dog there even for one night (typically this fee is $10-20). We were then placed into what seemed to be a designated “pet room” that had lots of carpet stains and smelled strongly of animal urine.
If only the entertainment systems were better, the doors were quieter and the furniture/art were a bit more modern , I could get to five stars. The essential amenities are solid. The staff was great! The front desk went beyond expectations. Security was present, comforting and friendly. The bedding was white and immaculate. Bathrooms are clean. Coffee and toiletries were well stocked and appreciated.Really, the strange TVs and entertainment setup cost them a star here.Ps... The doors slam a lot... It’s really hard to keep it from happening. Our door slammed, the neighbors door slammed it was pretty disturbing throughout the night. I didn’t mind it much, my wife woke a couple of times.
Very big rooms with beds and sofa. Your home away from home. The heater/AC was loud but I did not take the time to turn it off. Breakfast was small with packaged foods like hard boiled eggs, boxed cereal, yogurt, milk, boxed orange juice, oranges. There was coffee and hot water for tea and all the accessories that go in coffee and tea.
We stayed at this hotel to visit the almond blossom. Since we were extra cautious of sanitization, we wiped down the entire place once we got the keys. To our shock there were LAYERS of dirt on our sanitizer napkins which goes to show how well the place was cleaned prior to us getting there.Would really ask the hotel to step up in their efforts to combat the spread of Covid or else just close down rooms until youre able to properly clean them
We stayed only 1 night as we had to get COVID vaccine shot in the area early in the morning. The hotel and room were spacious, and clean. It felt like it was an old hotel, but was maintained nicely and kept in a good, clean condition. The hotel staff were courteous. Due to COVID times, they only had grab-and-go items for breakfast, so we ended up eating at the iHOP across from the hotel. The location was good, with many places to eat near by. It felt like a reasonably safe area. I got high-speed WiFi for 4.95$ and speed was reasonably good (20Mbps down). In general, if you are there for just 1 night, its a good hotel to meet all your needs. One area for improvement would be that the furniture in the room looked old and somewhat dusty.Based on my research, this was the 2nd best place in the area with the Residence Inn being the top rated (which is a newer, more fancy hotel). Given the 50% markup of Residence Inn hotel rate over this place, we stayed at Springhill Suites.
Suite had plenty of room for the family was clean and the kids loved the channel selection over other hotels we have recently stayed at. Already booked our room for the return trip and plan on keeping this as our primary stopping point when traveling from Az to Or on a regular basis.
So I was in town because my mother had a stroke and was in the icu... I had made reservations but I didnt get to the hotel untill very early in yhe morning the day of check out... I was at the hospital all night. So when I got to the hotel finally to check in I told the guy helping me what I was in town for and why I was so late checking in, he was awesome! He probably could tell i was exhausted. I was expecting to have to check out in like 5 hours (bc it was 6 am already) but the guy helping me check in, let me stay a couple extra hours after check out which was very sweet of him. He made my stay there very accommodating I was able to get some rest . The hotel was nice and clean
I dont know what hotel others are staying at, but our room was REALLY dirty. Our feet got black walking on the rug and it was really sticky in parts. My 6 year old laid on the ground and popped up saying gross, the floor stinks! Also the room smelled heavily of smoke and air freshener. The bathtub was dirty and the trap had visible hair sticking out. There were people loitering in the lobby with no mask on. Overall would go out of my way to never stay here again.
This hotel was spacious and comfortable. The marketplace by the front desk was really handy. Staff was helpful, friendly, and professional. Our room was very nice and large with very high ceilings. The sofa was nice to have and there was a large desk and a wet bar with many convenient amenities. The bathroom was large and the shower was very clean with a great shower head. The king size bed was the best part! Breakfast was so good and had so many options to choose from. We really enjoyed our stay and I would definitely come back.
The room was nice. Vaulted ceilings, comfy queen beds, nice complimentary breakfast. The furnishings were tattered and food stained and the fridge didnt work but the maintenance came right away and fixed it. The reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because the dog area was in the furthest, darkest part of the parking area. I was uncomfortable taking my dog out there to do his business at night and early morning. If youre going to allow pets please make an area for them thats at least comfortable and safe feeling for the owners.
This place could be great if they had spent the money on quality products when they upgraded this place. The beds creaked and mattress was hard in both rooms I rented (not heavy people) making it hard to get a good nights sleep. Cutting corners was obvious with the peeling paint from the attempted resurface of the bathtub. This made the place feel run down.I have slept in worse but I expected better of this place. I hope they address these issues because the rest of the experience was good. Place was clean. Showerhead was the best. Suites were spacious. Breakfast was decent. Internet was fast. Ability to play your own subscription streaming services on TV was awesome. Staff was great.
I stayed here with my daughter, son-in-law and my two grandkids. The extra room and sofa were great to have! So was the microwave, refrigerator and bar sink. The beds were super comfortable with nice bedding and pillows. Breakfast was excellent with so many choices! Waffles we made fresh ourselves, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereals, breads, yogurt and fruit! The hot tub was wonderful although the pool was too cool to swim in for us. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great place and great value!
We had a great stay at this hotel! We went to Modesto for a wedding and our son and daughter and their spouses and children came, too. We wanted to try to get three rooms together but knew that might be difficult. They made it happen! The grandchildren enjoyed the pool and the great breakfast buffet. The parents appreciated the larger rooms, especially with little ones. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean as a whistle. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. There is no other place we would stay in Modesto.
The rooms at Springhill are amazing. They are clean, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing. We have stayed here before because we know we can count on a nice room. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only downfall is breakfast. We tend to go elsewhere. The waffles and pastries are adequate as is the coffee. However, the eggs look fake and the meat is dry and unappealing. I would like to see a better breakfast for the price you pay.
The SpringHill Suites Modesto gave us a very pleasant experience during our seven (7) day stay. All the amenities offered for the price surpassed our expectations. I must say, that, the air conditioning unit was making a funky noise and we were afraid it might go out any time soon; it didnt. The staff was very helpful making sure we were comfortable. The property was very clean and quiet and in an excellent location with easy access to the freeway and walking distance to restaurants and major stores. We thought the daily breakfast had plenty of variety and the staff make sure it was always stocked. I love the fresh fruit choices! Although the fitness center was small it had enough equipment for a complete workout. My son did mention that some of the free weights, barbells, were missing, particularly the 35lb and 45lb. In all we had an awesome home away from home experience.
We were impressed with the overall accommodations and comfort offered by this hotel. It is very new, nicely decorated, and well-staffed. We were most impressed by the spaciousness and added accommodations offered in the handicapped accessible room in which we stayed. Not only was there plenty of rolling space but there was a couch that could fit all three of us, along with a desk for my computer. The staff was especially helpful, friendly, and positive. While one would not go here expecting a Four Star experience, I will say that we prefer the experience we had, here, to our experiences at Modesto flagship luxury hotel, downtown. So, I believe this will be out new go-to hotel, when we come home to Modesto! Moreover, we will seek out Springhill Suites when we travel anywhere.
We had a wedding to go to near Modesto, so we stayed here. I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby was updated and smelled really good. The room/bathroom were clean and perfect for my family of 4 to stay. The bed was comfy. The pool area was great for my kids. The continental breakfast was delicious- there were a lot of options for everyone. I would stay here again if I had to go to Modesto.
Very accommodating and professional staff. This Marriott property was very clean, excellent breakfast/area and as a female traveling alone, I felt extremely safe. I appreciated all this since my husband was in a nearby hospital for almost 2 weeks and I knew I had a great place to come home to every night after long 12 hour days.
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel in Modesto. We stayed after attending a family celebration and did not want to drive back to the bay area. We liked that there was coffee in the lobby at all times. The place was clean, comfortable and I felt safe there. The free breakfast was great. I would consider staying here again.
First of all let me state....I dont do reviews often because I dont have the time to spend on them. With that being said I will review this hotel. It was great! The staff was courteous and obliging. I had easy access to my room. The room itself was large enough to make me feel at home. There was a front room, slightly separated from the bedroom area, in which there was a sofa, a chair and a work station. The layout gave a sense of privacy even though their is nothing to really create that privacy (such as a wall or some other structure). Nicely designed. The sink area was separated from the shower/toilet area which was very nice. There was also a walk-in closet with plenty of room if you were there for a longer stay. Of course there was also a microwave and a refrigerator off to the side. Very pleasant stay. Im not much of a hotel person but I found myself actually thinking I wouldnt have minded staying here longer than I acutally did.
Hotel was conveniently located for our visiting needs in Modesto. Very clean and modern design, with comfortable well appointed suite type room. Staff members were polite, friendly and helpful. We made the staff aware of our daughter, with special needs, they were very accommodating of our request with regards to her needs. Over all we had a very pleasant stay. Will definitely stay here anytime we have future visits in area.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff were very friendly, complimentary breakfast was great (i’m never going to complain about free food), beds were fine, traffic was busy in that area but that’s expected for the location and close to shopping, restaurants and freeway access. Best part was finding a hotel room that could accommodate a family of 5 at a reasonable price. We will definitely stay at this hotel again any time we find ourselves in Modesto.
My stay at SpringHill Suites was truly amazing. The staff was friendly and professional. The lobby smelled delicious and everything was so clean and beautifully decorated. The room was huge, the floor plan was perfect for us and very comfortable. Just an amazing visit and I am EXTREMELY IMPRESSED that they have a Tesla charger. GREAT TOUCH!! In the event I come back to Modesto I will stay here!
Had great experience on previous trip. This time was not good. The bed sheets had not been changed. They were used and dirty with human hairs and stains. Headboard had big greasy stain and was not wiped down. Toilet had stuff floating in it. Seriously questioned how clean the rest of the room was.
I called the front desk 3 times Sat night (11, 11:15, 11:30 pm) to get help with the TV--it wouldnt work--and no one answered the phone. My wife went down and finally a man came from the bakc and told hersomeone would be right up to fix the problem. No one ever showed up and we waited an hour. Also, the toilet was clogged and we couldnt use it.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel does not have a bar or restaurant, but is a great alternative if one of the bigger hotels is booked. Rooms are a good size with a modern yet comfortable sitting area. I would have no reservation about staying here again. Oh, and is close to shopping, freeway, and familiar restaurants. However, if a non-chain restaurant is desired, downtown Modesto is about 10 minutes away. Downtown has some wonderful restaurants that are definitely worth the drive.
Wonderful stay from start to finish. Accommodating and professional staff. Exceptionally clean posh and zen feel. Thoroughly enjoyed the all hours free coffee, tea, hot chocolate service, the more than adequate hot and cold breakfast items, excellent and easy access WiFi, great location near lots of restaurants private and chain, easy access to everything in Modesto, spacious and comfortable rooms and beds. Highly recommend a stay at this hotel. We were not disappointed and wished we could have stayed another night just to relax and enjoy all the hotel had to offer.
While SpringHIll Suites Modesto may not be as good as other Marriott properties, it is still a nice place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and breakfast is served every morning. The employees at the front desk are very friendly and accommodating. There is ample parking.
The breakfast selection wasnt that great and the car park was okayThe bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The only issue we had was street and freeway noise, make little bit hard to sleep at night, despite being facing onto a busy road. Great staff that know the true value of customer service. Fortunately everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future
The rooms and check-in were very speedy and the room comfortable and attractive with kitchenette, coffee maker little refrigerator and microwave and sink. The bath was separate from the vanity so one person could shower and the other shave or put on makeup at the sink/vanity. The internet service in the room was great as was the light and the air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable. I wish there had been some reading materials in the lobby. Perhaps a little library of paper backs.
This hotel is conveniently located on the 99 freeway yet did not pose a lot of traffic noise inside the room.It was a perfect location for a relaxing stay at a nearby convention. The breakfast was so much more than your typical continental breakfast with muffins, bagels, pastries, oatmeal, waffles, eggs and sausage. I wish I would have had time to enjoy the gym and pool. Everything was well kept and clean. Thanks for a great stay!
The staff were great. This is my choice hotel when visiting here. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfy. It is quiet. Breakfast is average but clean and I appreciate clean. If I had to comment on anything it would just be that they have their AC units checked out. The one in our room kept clicking and clanking, otherwise the stay was great.
My nephew gave me the name of this hotel to stay at because it was close to his house. Well we were so HAPPY he did, the hotel and staff were pure perfection. Perfect location too!!!!We will stay here again!! And we will recommend to others. OMG forgot to mention so many restaurants in the general area and a lot of shopping areas!!!!! We visited in November 2015. The weather was a dat bit cold but it felt amazing, hard to describe I LOVED IT!!! and the trees the colors were so beautiful!!!!
The check-in process was very good and the employee was very pleasant.Housekeeping was very good and the staff maintaining the common areas also did a terrific job.The room layout and comfort was one of the best for this type hotel. There is room for improvement with the hot options offered for breakfast. A major disappointment was the vegetable patty as the hot option for the Friday breakfast. On future visits, I will be having breakfast elsewhere on Fridays if veggie patties are still their hot breakfast option.Like most hotels, check-out was easy and fast.
Great, comfortable place to stay for a night. Good space with separate couch seating area utilizing the same TV on a swivel. Even grabbed a few 4oz milks for stomach, coffee, etc. with what seemed like all day good, fresh coffee and hot water, ss tea with honey cane sugar etc. Excellent hot breakfast; oatmeal, waffles, eggs, sausage, juices, fruit, etc..
The beds are terrible. Old, very creaky and too soft. I was shown 3 rooms until I chose the best of the three - which still was not good... My back was not happy. The furniture is old and scratched up. Considering that this hotel is supposedly the number one hotel in Modesto, California, I was rather shocked. I will state that Hollie, the manager, is a lovely person and did everything she could to accommodate us.
My check-in experience was fine however when we got to the room and opened the door we immediately noticed it smelled really bad and stale. I called the front desk to complain and to hopefully be moved to another room but was told that would not be possible because the hotel was booked. The front desk did offer to spray some air freshener, give me some additional points, and a couple of alcoholic drinks from the bar. We had arrived at the hotel late night or we would of attempted to find another hotel and demand a refund; but we just held or noses, swallowed or pride, and decided to take the front desk up on their offer. The air freshener helped a little but was of course temporary; we eventually made some popcorn in the microwave to masked the smell a bit. In the end we just decided to do what the front desk had hoped and have a few drinks and pass out!!I am not exactly certain why the room smelled but a clue might have been the dirty carpets in the hall and in the room. We also noticed the curtains in the room was old and dirty. I personally think you need to reevaluate your cleaning and replacement polices for this hotel. You can only clean things such as carpets, curtains, beds, etc., for so long; eventually they need to be replaced!!
This hotel was very clean and well maintained. Staff was amazing! We were travelling for a water polo tournament and had a very early start for our games. We made a request for the grab and go items to be available for us. They said they would see what they could do. Well ... they not only had the cold items, they went above and beyond to make sure hot breakfast was ready for our girls before the normal hours. Cant thank them enough for that. Customer service is a lost art, but this staff has it down!
It was a good secure hotel. Easy access and close to restaurants, shopping, freeway. The breakfast was ok but could use a microwave in the area to warm things up. Had to take our food back to the room to warm it up which wasnt all that convenient. The wifi didnt work well in our room but after multiple attempts we were able to connect but it kept kicking us off. We werent in the room much and didnt really need it but it would have been nice for it to work better.
If you have to go to Modesto or the surrounding areas and stay, then this is a nice hotel. The rooms are nicely appointed, the location is close to shopping, food, and the freeway. I recommend the first floor because the rooms have 20 foot ceilings. We had a queen double suite. Its not a large room, but it has a separate living room, desk, and wet bar. The rooms are very clean and the hotel has a pool, spa, and fitness room. The lobby is large and inviting. They have breakfast in the morning and coffee and tea all day. The breakfast was not very good, but they offer fruit and yogurt if you want to pass on their freeze dried eggs and sausage patties. The coffee is good and I liked that you could sit in the lobby and just find a place to do work or relax. The area is okay, not too bad for Modesto. We didnt have any problem with parking or security. This appears to be a newer hotel. It has a very nice design and it is well maintained.
I stay at this hotel quite frequently for business and for visiting my family who lives in the area. The staff is very friendly and makes me feel important and comfortable. They always place me in the room of my needs and have been able to accommodate early arrival and late check out. I stay at many properties in the course of a year and I feel Springhill Suites Modesto makes everyone feel special, more so than any other properties I stay at. It is why I am a repeat customer. My only con on this trip was the Internet was very slow. I know there is a choice between the free wifi and the faster speed wifi that requires a cost. I have never had trouble on the free wifi at this hotel and this trip it was very slow and pages were taken a long time to load. I am not watching videos or any of the activities that would need the higher speed, just emails, social media, and the app for my class in school. It was very frustrating and at times the wifi would stop connecting. Again, I stay at this hotel frequently and this has not happened before. Please check the wifi router!
The SpringHill Suites in Modesto is an upgrade compared to the rest of the hotels in the area. The front desk staff is very friendly. The lobby is decorated with up to date furnishings. The rooms when you first step in seem quite nice but the bathroom is very old looking. Tubs seems old. The tile is very old. The bed and pillows had a really bad smell. But we were so tired from traveling that day. We decided to just stay in the room because the hallway had the same bad smell!!! Upgrading this hotel would be my recommendation.

Free car parking in a well lit area, facilities and the complimentary WIFI, and amazing breakfast, the quality bathroom products and 24 hour accessible free quality coffee/tea and iced water all make this hotel a great value for money experience.I would not hesitate to recommend the SpringHill Suites in Modesto to anyone. It was recommended to us by a friend and we were extremely glad to have found a hotel that not only delivers a High Quality experience, Value but makes you want to return, again and again.
We stayed only one night but it was a good stay. The room was beautiful. I was clean. It was so clean that it looked like it was brand new and we were the first people to sleep in it. Everything worked in the room. Microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, hearter. They all worked! They had Continental breakfast for free! Very good food. The had scrambled eggs, bacon, saucage, toast, OJ, milk, breakfast rolls, bagels, waffles. Great place to stay. I will go back and stay there again!
We just made a quick overnight stop here and didnt check in until nearly midnight, but everything absolutely met our needs. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast was absolutely on par. The location is also very convenient to the freeway and to the site of our softball tournament.
Tesla chargers! Granted, these are not super chargers but there are 2 stations with 2 plugs each and they are free! They charged my model 3 at a rate of 45 miles/hour...I came in at 10% battery and had a full charge by morning. The hotel is not bad. Breakfast is not the greatest but its hot, easy and free. I rate the hotel as a 4 star but as another star due to the Tesla chargers.
The property was nice and clean. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was well put together. The beds, however, were propped up on some odd support bars that extended out past the mattress. This caused myself and my wife to constantly hit our shins on the bars. Causing bruising.
I love this place, have been here three times this visit and when you walk in it screams happiness because the aroma is smelled at every end of the building. Although we were discounted, we were greeted with a double blood stained pillow, otherwise would have been a 5 stars rating. Will definitely be back and hopefully the pool is open.
A great choice for my Texas trip to Modesto for a mini family reunion. The lobby was a pleasant place to connect with family--to meet, to wait, &/or to talk at the sofa area or the tables.. The breakfast was a wonderful variety of choices; The coffee bar and ice water were available at any time. The week-day Happy Hour had fruit, cookies, & things like pigs in a blanket tidbits.. The employees were pleasant and helpful. My Great Grand Son loved the swimming pool. I should have reserved a handicapped room as the bathroom was not equipped with the guard rails needed for my age..
Clean, well-appointed rooms as expected, plus cheerful accommodating staff make this Marriott a winner. I was not disappointed when I stayed here with my small robotics team. Three adults and 5 teens on a tight budget were housed in comfort, breakfast was moved an hour earlier to accommodate teams (both robotics and athletics) who had come for the weekend, and a last minute change in our plans was seamlessly made with the help of the front desk staff. Extra towels, paper plates, and cutlery were delivered promptly when requested. Modestos outpost upholds the Marriott reputation for quality.
Ive stayed here several times and this hotel continues to impress. Staff is very friendly, decor is comfortable & fun, and rooms provide everything you need for your stay. Complimentary breakfast is good, as well, with a big selection of items. This is the best spot weve found to stay in Modesto! Highly recommend.
9/30/18 update: stayed here again. This time was not good. Bed sheets had stains and someones hair all over. They were crumpled as if they had been slept on. Sheets clearly had not been changed since previous guests. Also had big greasy hair stain on wooden headboard. Toilet was not clean.9/30/17 original review: Clean, modern, comfortable rooms. Great complimentary breakfast. Free Wi-Fi and parking. Only negative is location really course to freeway, so a bit of road noise from hwy 99 coming through the walls.
The hotel lobby was nice and modern. I was greeted by the front desk staff with a smile. I checked in via the Marriott mobile app so check-in at the front desk was quick and smooth. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed and room temperature were comfortable as well.
The beds are very comfortable and breakfast (especially oatmeal and fruit) was very good. Hot coffee and tea is always available in lobby. My two wishes: USB hubs in rooms and fruit or cucumber slices in the ice water located in lobby. Minor things, but I think they add a lot to a stay.
Stayed there for a week. The room was very nice, clean, but the bed was horrible. It was a hard mattress. Loved the breakfast area also very clean. Front desk was sometimes without personnel. I was greeted once the entire time I stayed. But it is over priced. A room this much should be comfortable to sleep in.
This is just the place you want to stay when you find yourself in Modesto for business. The hotel is conveniently located right off the 99, and is 10 minutes from the law office of my depositions. The room is perfect, had a nice desk to get some late night work done, very comfortable bed and fine bathroom. The neighborhood is safe and comfortable, nothing sketchy about this place! The staff is very professional and trying hard to please.
The SpringHill Suites, Modesto is a fairly nice hotel that is close to (within two miles) anything and everything in Modesto. My biggest complaint is the bed and the AC unit. The bed was hard, uncomfortable, and squeaked when you would move around. The AC unit was so loud that I literally had to turn it off during the night. Hence, my night’s stay was not the best. I did let the front desk staff know my concerns the next morning, and she replied, “Yes, we are supposed to be getting new beds this year”. With that said, the staff were above and beyond all expectations. So, for the staff, I will take my chances again with this hotel the next time I’m in Modesto.
We took our 3 grandchildren on a GRAND ADVENTURE. First was Pixie Woods, then to Springhill Suites for the night, then the train to Hanford for ice cream and back to Springhill Suites. The room was perfect for all of us, staff was amazing with our grandchilren from helping us with hurt toes by giving us bandaids, to your special lollipops, to remembering us at breakfast and coming to our table to ask how our adventure was going, to the guy in charge of the pool being sure all was well with us. All the staff made us feel welcomed and were wonderful with the kids. AND, our granddaughter learned to swim in your pool !!! Thank you for making our stay comfortable and memorable!
Springhill is one of the best Hotels in the area, friendly, clean and accessible to freeways and shopping. I stay here because it’s like a mini studio apartment, I can conduct business in one area of the room and sleep in the other. The beds are comfortable, so I get a restful sleep. In the morning I can either go down and get a free breakfast or the little kitchenette allows me to make my own. Microwave/refrigerator/coffee maker. I have desk and access to free internet. What more can you ask for? So if you have to be away from home...be at home at Springhill!
My stay at the spring hill suites was nice. The rooms are well kept and clean. I have a couch and a desk in my room with a microwave and fridge. The rooms are set up nice different then the typical hotel room. The workout room is one of the bonuses here at this hotel. It is well equipped with some nice lifestyle machines. And free weights then the normal tredmill and elyptial machines. I was very pleased with the workout room. I would rate this hotel 5 stars but in the elevators they have signs posted stating wine tasting on wednesdays in our lobby. So on Wednesday i went to the lobby and they said they have not done this in a few weeks mad she did not know why. So words of advise if the signs say wine tasting then have some wine tastings.
I have stayed here about four times total. Overall, it has been a pleasant stay...a little noisy especially when others are getting up for breakfast and coming back to the hotel late at night. This last time I found the bed too firm for my aching back and hip. All staff members are very accommodating and nice.
Solid choice for the Modesto area. We were here for just one night, but the location was easy to find, the rooms clean and modern, and the staff friendly. We had a very early start and the coffee was hot at 5:30 am. A diligent security guard was watching me pack up the card at 6am, which was reassuring and disheartening at the same time.
Our family is involved in travel soccer so we stay in a lot of hotels. The SpringHill Suites properties are always great. You know what to expect every time. The only difference is the staff and this property has a fantastic group of people working there. Highly recommended.
We booked into SpringHill Suites on our way to Palm Springs and stayed for two days as a bit of a break from driving. Loved the SpringHill and used the pool and other hotel amenities. Liked it so much we booked in again on our way back to Vancouver, BC. Staff are friendly and efficient. The hotel is clean and well situated with several restaurants within walking distance. Shopping is just a short drive away.
This is the best hotel that we have stayed at in Modesto over the past 10 plus years. It gives excellent value for the price. The rooms are the most comfortable, the breakfast buffet is very good and we used the fitness center, which although small, gives us the opportunity to have a workout away from home. We will make this our home during our next visit to Modesto.
Great experience at this hotel. Room is a big suite style with a small kitchenette and seperate bathroom fron the bathroom sink. There is even a small fridge. Very clean and very comfortable stylish modern hotel. Keep up the excellent service. You are the best in your area.
Booked a non-refundable room for my sons water polo tournament. Of course, two days later, the event is rescheduled. Called the hotel just in case they could help. The manager was very gracious and understanding and switched the room to the new date without any issue! Great customer service is apparently not a lost art! Thank you!
The hotel is clean. The staff is friendly. Amber atthe front desk makes you feel like you are family.Be warned the beds are extra firm. There is a bathtub with shower head. There are paper plates and plastic ware in cupboard. Also a microwave and fridge. If you want to watch a movie on your dvd player make sure it has the component cords and not hdmi.Great time whenever l stay there.
Hotel was good until it was time to check out. Im ambassador status so I was told I could check out anytime by front desk staff. At around 11am someone knocked on my door asking when I was going to leave. Then I received 2 calls to my room asking when I was going to leave. I felt like I was being harrassed.
My stays at the SpringHill Suites are always wonderful. The rooms are nice, spacious, clean, and updated. My only complaint on this trip was the constant condition of the lobby and elevator floors. From the time we checked in Friday afternoon to the time we left Sunday morning the lobby floor and elevator floors had a constant layer of dirty footprints. This may be due to the fact that there were spilled syrup packets stuck to the walls inside each elevator that were present also from Saturday night through Sunday morning. Many guests were upset and reporting the condition of the floors. While we did see a janitor walking around with a mop the floors were never cleaned. Ive never seen SpringHill Suites in this kind of condition. My guess is there must have been some unruly guests to leave syrup stuck to the walls that the Suites staff werent prepared to deal with.
Our only complaint was that the people next door were very loud. My husband was very ill just out of the hospital treatment and heading for home (this is why we stopped for the night), so we were sensitive to the noise. We did not ask to be moved....that would have taken too much energy for us. Also, architecturally, the design of the doors, cause the noise of opening and closing, to go directly into the neighbors room.
I was charged an extra $100 by the Modesto SpringHill for smoking in the room because Housekeeping determined they smelled smoke even though NO ONE EVER SMOKED in the room. I will never stay at a Marriott Hotel because that and not for the money charged because of the principal. Overall the stay was good but that mistake about that issue has completely changed my opinion and there are plenty of nice places where my family can stay without being falsely accused and charged!
I spent two days at the Modest Springhill Suites during the Thanksgiving holiday. The room was so spacious and clean, and had everything I needed. It was also centrally located to a lot of shopping and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Modesto
Over all, 5 stars and two thumbs up. Excellent value for the money. I would hope all of the hotels we will stay at in the future are as nice, clean and well maintained as this one. Other hotels across the board (rating and price range) could take lessons on hotel operations and management from this Marriot Springhill Suites in Modesto. To use a phrase that has become popular around the NFL headquarters in New York lately....They got it right
WORST NIGHT EVER. I stayed here with my wife for our wedding night and the hotel completely failed us. Called early to let them know what a special night it was, they did nothing to show us that they even cared we were there, let alone chose them for our special night. the beds are Horrible, literally felt like plywood with foam over it. my wife and I seriously considered leaving in the middle of the night the bed was so uncomfortable. the next day when i told this to the front desk lady, she just laughed. I had accidently forgot some personal items at the hotel, i called to ask them to grab them, I was told there was nothing left which I know is a lie.TLDR: Want a special night? or even a comfortable one? Do not stay here!
The staff has always been accomodating and friendly. Theyre awesome! They keep me coming back. Love these people. I have worked at Sutter for over a year. The commute is short and the hotel is near the 99 freeway. Its not too far from the mall and restaurants. Its also near Sprouts, a 24 hour Starbucks is across the street, car wash and a 24 hour Kinkos is nearby. For you Walmart and Target shoppers, they are nearby as well.
Its your basic room. It has a fridge and a microwave. Separate couch area. Bathroom was ok. Bed was terrible. My back was screaming for me to get up. Did I mention we stayed NYE night. My sisters wedding. (Not at this hotel) I literally slept like four hours and I had enough of that bed. Time to make the two hour drive home. If you are ever stuck in Modesto and need a place to stay last minute. This might be the place.
The rooms were small they were cramped for the suites, the bathroom door the way that it was set up-for the vanity area and the sink area you almost had to have the bathroom door shut at all times or else it was totally in the way I just I wasnt that impressed for the priceNot at all..
Air conditioning / heating system in the room is so loud -- you cannot hear yourself think much less sleep. But, windows dont open, so if you turn the system off, room heats-up like an oven. Cannot win. Stay far away from this place. Also, room was long, awkward narrow shape (uncomfortable). Not what youd expect from a two queen bed suite.
Stayed at the SpringHill Suites in Modesto during trip to attend Modesto Comic-Con. From the time we arrived until we left, it was almost like being at home. Absolutely no hassles - just the opposite! This was our second stay at this hotel and will stay there again for the next Comic-Con.

2022-04-10I stayed here for 8 nights. The room I originally stayed in needed a lot more attention to cleanliness. There were stains all over the carpet and couch. I thought my bed was clean until I woke up to earwigs in my bed. GROSS. Showers had mould and shower soap dispensers were practically empty. As expected, all the front desk staff were on point and were able to find me a new room, although the hotel was sold out - Thank you!The second room was much cleaner, but had a funny smell to it.Breakfast options are the same every day. Coffee/tea, oatmeal, cereal, turkey/pork sausage, cold breakfast sandwiches and eggs made from a bag. Weekends, they might have the waffle station available.Make sure you dont have any belongings in your car! On many occasions, Ive caught random people walking through the parking lot scoping for valuables in cars.Overall, the hotel wasnt the worst, but didnt feel like a Marriott hotel. This place needs much more attention to cleanliness, more security, and better breakfast options.

2022-03-19This place is nice and great stay. The food was good, and staff was very friendly. The hotel was nice and cozy, no issues really. Except I feel bad for the hotel to waste money on a security guard who sleeps all shift long. Walked the parking lot and found the guard sleeping with his window down and holding a cigarette. He was also parked in his patrol car in the red zone. Guess the laws do not apply to security guards who sleeps. Other than that great place to bring family and friends, security is as good as a car alarm.

2022-04-08Terrific location with lots of shops & restaurants around and the service was great. Rooms are big and comfy but could use a little attention to the furniture.. chairs and tables were scuffed and the couch had a stain on it. Overall a definite strong option for Modesto.

2022-05-01Hotel is clean and comfortable. No issues with the staff. The rooms need some attention though. The bed was six inches away from the wall. Don’t like climbing over my wife if I have to I use the bathroom at 2am. No USB ports in the room except for the two in the alarm clock and one didn’t work. And the television was sitting on a 30 inch dresser, lower than the bed, which made it very difficult to watch a movie while laying down. No deal breakers, I would stay here again but not for more than a night or two.

2021-08-27My most recent stay was for the night of August 19th. My stay was very nice just as it has been each time I have stayed here. The facility was clean and fresh-smelling and the room was spotless. The rooms are set up nicely with a separate area away from the bed for sitting watching TV, working or eating. The room is spacious with a well-lit desk area for working. The bathroom is large and the shampoo/conditioner/body wash is a quality brand that smells great. The staff are always polite and helpful.

2022-02-22Positive: I enjoyed the cleanliness and the breakfast in the mornings. The staff was friendly and really liked the fact that vanity is outside shower area.
