Nice facility, very safe. Logan was extremely helpful throughout the process. Made sure we got the right size. Only reason I deducted a start was due to the miscommunication from the website. We were under the impression that we had already reserved a 5x5 but in actuality it was a 5x5x5 locker.
Their prices started out pretty good but have risen quite a bit over the last two years. They now chain up their moving carts and you need to go to the office (only open during regular hours) to get a key to use a cart. Pretty inconvenient and made me feel like I was in a bad part of town, which this isnt. But the facility is nice and new and clean and they prorated my move out, which is very nice. If they would unchain those carts and drop their price a bit, Id have given 5 stars. But still, it is a good option to consider for storage in the area.

Dawn, the manager is very friendly, professional and transparent, she gave me the real total per month including protection plan. I reserved the unit a day ago via phone and she was nice enough to reserve my unit (the last one left) for two full days. Overall Im very happy with my experience at SmartStop
One problem after another.First: I had insurance coverage but wasnt totally sure, so the agent offered coverage and said we could cancel immediately if my coverage was good. They then refused to cancel the coverage the next day.Second: They bumped the rate about 30% after 3 months without notice. Did not call back regarding it when asked.Third: Not 24/7 access. If youre in the gated area after 10pm, they lock your car in.The upside is they do have some small units for rent and are pretty clean and well maintained. Odd smell inside, but feels professional inside and out.That said, go elsewhere. Avoid this place.
Dawn is awesome! Very knowledgeable and helpful. We are first time storage renters and did not know how this whole thing works. But Dawn thoroughly explained the process, showed us units that were available and walked us through the renting process. Very clean place, secure and affordable! We are happy with customer service and overall experience!!

Whenever I arrived in the parking area or worked in my storages @ Smart Stop, I would often observed Dawn being with customers or prospective clients. I mean, Dawn’s a terrific and awesome person every customers are looking for. Even when I have to buy or pay or ask a question inside the office, I observed her as being well versed and competent with her managements skills. She’s friendly, accommodating and her special personality are plus factors to Smart Stops. I am very satisfied to know that her customer care and commitment has always been her passion.

Excellent customer service at the Fenton location! All the lease details were clearly explained by Logan. We rented a space here about three years ago and came back. The prices are fair and the unit assigned to us is very clean.

I would recommend for people in the area.Updating review after 2 years here. 2021 was crazy and the amount of times they increase the rent has gone up by almost $100. Picking a 2nd and 3rd floor location, youll always have to use the annoying elevator system.Update Mid 2022: Storage rates keep increasing!!

As I was shopping around for a storage unit, I came across the Self Storage. I introduced myself to the salesperson (Dawn) and she was immediately professional, friendly, helpful and hospitable. We toured a couple of the available units, and instantly, I saw the one for my belongings. Perfect size on the measurements to fit everything. I’m pleased to be assured, that my belongings will be well protected and secured. I highly recommend this place on 2380 Fenton St. in Chula Vista, California. A happy customer.

We just purchased our storage for the first time and went to go drop off some boxes. The facility is very well maintained. Theirprocess for security makes you feel your items will be well secured. The person who helped us (I believe her name is Dawn) was very helpful in explaining everything. She also haves us a tour. I highly recommend this place

I have nothing negative to say about this storage place! The building is pretty new. The facility itself is clean! I have compared prices between the storages in that area and I should say this storage costs less than others. Shout out to Logan for smooth transactions. I got a unit the same day I walked in. And due to being an active duty, I had to transfer this month so I had to close out my storage. All I had to do is let the staff know. It was a very quick transaction and no issues! Would recommend!

I literally just left this facility and I am very pleased. Dawn helped me out the entire way! I was greeted immediately upon arrival, she double checked the appointment/reservation I made online, she walked me to my actual unit and gave me tips along the way, we walked back to the office where I signed my contract contactlessly where she then provided me with my lock that I purchased and my gate code.She kindly even made sure my gate code worked both outside and for the elevators before I left, which it did!Overall, the facility/unit is clean, temperature controlled, and the service is great!Thank you Dawn for making this such an easy process!!!
Great place! Super easy online process. I signed our lease chose our space all from home. Today we went into the office to pick up gate code buy our lock And look at our storage space in person. It was clean, cool, and well lit! I love that we will be able to free up space in our garage and store our seasonal and holiday stuff in a climate controlled environment! Office staff was super friendly had no issues answering questions and showing us shortcuts to our unit! So far so good!!!!!

Rented a locker here. We found an internet deal for around $32 a month. FYI, this price does not include the admin fee, insurance and the cost of a lock (which is required). But, we still paid under $90 bucks for 2 months of storage. Dawn the store rep was helpful, informative and she went over everything with us before we paid anything. All in all, a good experience. This time around, we only needed short term storage, but if we ever have future storage needs, we’ll likely be back.
This place is great! Julia helped me sign my lease and she had great customer service and was very helpful. I went to check it out and it’s a new and, dry clean facility. The access to your stored items is easy and elevator is huge. The hours you can come are convenient compared to others. I shopped around and this was the best deal in the area. Thanks you Smart stop!

The facility is very well kept. Entire facility is temperature controlled. There are dollies and ladders available for use here at the facility. When I arrived there were people attending the facilities to maintain a clean appearance. Julie assisted me with the process of renting the unit. She’s very good, polite, and accommodating. Initially there was a computer glitch with renting the unit, but Julie was quickly able to resolve it and get me the unit I was needing. I’m very impressed with this storage facility and highly recommended. Shout out Julie! Thank you, Julie!!

Dawn helped wonderfully, the management, not so much. This location is NOT POD friendly. If you are using a pod you will be forced to park it on the street and move your belongings up a hill, one small cart at a time with no remorse.
I just checked out of SmartStop after about 8 months, just simply not needing a unit anymore. The service was great !Logan was extremely helpful to me yesterday. I was about to leave and realized I locked the keys along with my phone in the Uhaul. Logan went above and beyond to call Uhaul and give directions for a locksmith to come out as I was unable to call anyone. Waiting 45 mins for the locksmith he continued to check in on me to make sure I was ok as he was sweeping the property. Thanks 👍 Logan. Take Care! -Kevin

The facility is clean and conveniently located however be very careful to exit before 10pm, otherwise be prepared to abandon your vehicle behind the gates overnight and Uber home. There is no after hours help number. We retrieved our car the next morning and expressed our safety concerns about this to the manager but he was rude and dismissive and told us to ‘read the contract’. Exactly the thing no customer wants to hear. He refused to help or consider policy changes and my request to have an owner call me never happened. At the very least there should be a big sign notifying clients that GATES LOCK YOU IN at 10pm.

I couldnt be happier with SmartStop Self Storage. The other nearby storage facilities dont even come close. This place is accessible till 10 p.m. and the others only until 6 p.m. The people who work there are so nice and helped me pick out the perfect unit. The price is more reasonable than the other places. Its climate controlled which makes a big difference, and so clean! I am very happy with this place.

I went to two other storage places before going to SmartStop. Since it had just opened in March 2018 I figured it would be the most expensive. Much to my surprise it turned out to be the least expensive. And being new and clean with a great security system I rented a 10X10 unit on the spot. The hours allowed into the facility was a big reason why we chose SmartStop over the other two storage places. Would highly recommend this storage facility.

I found this place on craigslist and called and came right over because they had a unique dtorage/office that worked for my business perfectly. Showed me the unit and within 20 minutes I was on my way. Shes always around and saying hi by first name which is welcoming. Couldnt ask for a better experience. And the units are band new!

This location in eastlake is conviently located off the 125 freeway.The building is very very clean as well as the units. They also offer office/ warehouse units. Julie helped me find the unit that was perfect for my needs. She was very patient accomidating my request. The unit I wanted was also available for their current promotions! Which made my move in even more affordable! super happy with my choice getting a unit here!

Very clean bright temperature controlled facility the staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially Julie she went out of her way for me this evening when there were no more carts for loading items on, she went out of her way to find one for me.

DO NOT COME HERE! I found rodent droppings and chewed up box in my unit on 12/1/19. I notified customer service and they said it was a known issue and to email the manager. I emailed the manager on 12/1/19 and have yet to receive a response. I followed up again on 12/5/19 and no response. Unless you want your items to be damaged, do not use this company to store your items.

Shopping at smartstop was the best decision i came across. They offer great discounted rate. I really think its a hreat place to storage your things. The place is fairly new. The only thing that bothers me ...is that the location is kinda Out The Way.

Excellent customer service, I am 72 years old and they patiently helped me with my lock and any questions I had. It was very clean and climate controlled.
Conveniently located and the units are air conditioned which is important if you have artwork stored. Very friendly staff that answered all my questions. The move-in specials were very attractive.

2022-04-28My first experience with using storage and I swear I picked the best company. Dawn was a very wonderful, genuine, kind lady that was straight to the point and fast paced with everything. She is very helpful and informative. She covers everything that you need to know and this is important. They have great deals and very professional, quiet, environment and beyond great customer service. Would highly highly recommend whether it’s your first time or not!!

2022-04-25Top notch customer service! I just rented my second unit at this location. From the time I called to make my reservation to coming in and signing the paperwork and lease, the whole process was easy and smooth. Logan is the team member thats been here each time Ive stopped by for help, he is so kind and thorough with his explanations. I highly recommend this storage unit. Its extremely clean, climate controlled and in a great area. Ive had a unit here for 18 months already and Ive never seen or had an issue with pests. The only issue I bring up is how finicky the elevator is.

Great promos and nice clean facility. Awesome price comparing to other facility.Update: My stay at this facility was great. I moved out today. It has been very easy to store my things here. Everyone was great. Thanks to Dawn that helped me today and also want to thank Logan and Steve who has s always very nice when I call in for any questions or make a payment. Great Job! 2022-07-17We rented four lockers and Dawn the receptionist was a lot of help. She was there by herself and definitely deserves a raise. It would have been nice to get a bit of a discount but oh well. On Saturday there was a lot of traffic

2022-06-14I’ve been a customer with Smartstop Storage since it opened. I’ve had pretty average customer service experiences in the past. But today I was helped by Logan when I transferred my into from a large one to a smaller one. He was so friendly, worked quickly and really went out of his way to make the experience pleasure.
