We rented a car from Sixt Mission District and we had a fantastic experience. Corey helped us and he was fantastic. The other person that was working, I believe that her name may have been Amelie, was fantastic as well. We are members of Sixt Subscription (its like a short term lease program) and we came here to pick up our car. We were upgraded to a larger car, but after driving away and having lunch, we decided that we didnt like the feel of the car. It was just a bit too large. We returned and asked for an exchange of the car. Instead of being annoyed and just telling us that they didnt have any other options, Corey went to work to find us another car. Amelie helped too! He contacted a nearby location to see if they had other cars that would suit our needs. He contacted the airport Sixt location to see if they had other cars that would suit our needs. It was taking a while, so we suggested that we run some errands. They said theyd call us back once they had it settled. Corey called us back and told us to head to the airport for our car exchange. The other car that we received was fantastic and perfect for our needs. Stylish, sporty, and seemingly brand new. Corey even called after we received the car to make sure that everything was ok. By the way, this was also on July 4th - a very busy holiday for travel. I sing Sixts praises everywhere I go. They have the best cars and the best service. If you go to the mission district Sixt in San Francisco, ask for Corey! But I get the feeling that you cant go wrong no matter who you get. Thanks Sixt!! And thank you so much Corey!!
I would like to file an complaint regarding a hit and run accident I was involved on 2 Jul.As an international traveler who frequently rented Sixt, I was very disappointed and mad about my rental experience this time at San Francisco. In many of the countries I’ve traveled to, Sixt rental agreement covered the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) to limit the cost charge to renter due to collision. Take me most recent rental experience in Turkey this May for example, I rented with Sixt for 12 days. The experience was awesome, the branch staff in Turkey provided detailed information about the protection policy and mentioned that CDW is included in the basic rental agreement. Another example was my trip to Paris, where CDW was not included in my basic rental, the branch staff, however, made it real clear about this and made sure I had either my own car insurance coverage or considered purchasing one at the counter, which I eventually did. My point here is that from my past experiences with Sixt, the branch staff on site always provided detailed information regarding insurance policy and how to help to protect their customers. BUT not this time at the San Francisco, mission district branch. Little did we know that CDW was not included in the basic rental agreement in US, actually not any single coverage/protection was included. As an international traveler, we were used to having some sort of protection included in the basic rental or at least being clarified by the branch staff on what is or is not included. The experience in San Francisco was far from satisfaction. The branch staff was lack of competence and never mentioned that there was no protection included in my rental. A well trained branch staff would have explained it clearly and put customers’ benefit first. They should have noticed that I am an international traveler when I showed my passport and international drivers permit at the counter, and they should have known that I can not possibly possess any local car insurance. However, what the branch staff did was only asking if I have my own insurance. Well, of course I have my own insurance, but it is my personal insurance back in my country which is apparently not applicable in this situation, where I got in lol ed in a hit and run accident. Of course, you could argue that I’ve signed all T&Cs and agreed not to purchase any protection. However, you are putting customer at risk in such situations when the branch staff didn’t put any efforts to explain the detail and made the customer aware what the risks were, instead they just requested me to read and sign the T&C in a small screen at the counter, which was basically unable to read. Now I am in this anxiety and worried situation where I do not know what charge is coming for me and what liability I am going to face. What’s worse, your customer service call line is totally not functioning and there is no one I can contact and understand the situation. If anyone in Sixt see this, please contact me!
Customer service is above and beyond at this branch, especially Corry and Odalis whom listened and took care of customer needs. We need weekly rental car due to our primary car is un-operational and given the weekly rental rate is much better than daily rate, so we could get a nicer car here compared to Enterprise@1600 Mission Street, which we have tried for many times prior to Sixt. I gotta say, Sixt has nicer car for sure!
Hi I’m actually renting a car next week and I’m looking for the branch phone number to confirm details. I haven’t been able to find it anywhere online and the main customer service number doesn’t have it.I see someone from sixt responds here. If that person knows the phone number can you please reply with it? Or can you tell me if this location accepts debit cards for rentals?Thank you!
I have been renting cars from Sixt for many years, and it was a very good experience every time. However, in this SF branch, I had a terrible experience. The staff was very rude. First, they kept me waiting while doing nothing, and then they rudely tried to sell me more and more options. Then, when they didnt have the car I ordered, they tried to sell me an upgrade instead of just giving me a replacement, like every other branch of Sixt would do.If this wasnt enough, they asked me for my passport, even though it didnt say that it was required in the order form. No one asked me for my passport in any other branch of Sixt in the USA. Since they didnt accept a photo of my passport from my phone, I was forced to take a Taki to get it.I felt like they do everything in their power to give me bad service.
Planned to rent a Bmw 5 series, ended up with renting a Bmw 8 series because I was a little to late. The customer service did what they could do to satisfied me. I was very lucky that I could rent the Bmw 8 series convertible and I had a great time with the car and went to LA and Las Vegas with the car. When I brought back the car the customer service were also very kind. Thank you Sixt for the good service!
We are their unfortunate neighbors. We have a toddler (and a second baby on the way) and they BLAST their music, which keeps the toddler awake. Weve asked politely many times to have them turn down the music, but they will not stop. My husband has tried to involve management, but they do not seem to care. I am at an impasse. There are families living here, guys! Please please please turn it down.
The office and cars are super clean and maintained really well. its hard to find a single dent or scratch! the quality control is awesome !! More than anything the people who work at this location provide excellent customer service and are very friendly !! Id like to specially thank Glenda who assisted me the last three times.. always ensured I get the car i like and upgraded multiple rentals for free!
This is one of those few instances when I wish google had an option for 0 stars. The location has poor choice of cars, no option to cancel if you dont want to take an inferior car for the cateogry and most of all, unhelpful staff who are least interested in making sure the customer has a good experience. And this is for a luxury car booking, so God knows how bad the experience booking with a regular car would be.
I just had a great experience renting a car with Sixt. I got a premium rate car (2021 BMW 330i) for hardly much more than an economy car…so fun to drive, totally worth the few more bucks. Their office is SO much cleaner and sleeker than the other rental car locations in the city. Even though I made the reservation pretty last min Odalis was able to get me a car no problem. They’ll def be the first stop for when I rent cars in the future.
Great team and the best mini fleet in the city. A strikingly clean interior and spotless lot in an otherwise dim stretch of lower mission, I felt safe and confident about the business. The team exceeded my expectations for a great vehicle and the price was affordable for a last minute rental. Clean cars, great amenities, and the best service. My new rental pick
This was by far the most enjoyable car rental experience I have EVER HAD. Glenda and Grace at the Mission branch deserve nothing but a 5 star review. They were extremely competent, kind, patient and went above and beyond with their service. They upgraded my vehicle for me, made instructions and pickup easy and clear and did it with a SMILE. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this whole experience. I rented a car for approx 10 days while in California with Sixt and was in easy close communication with them the whole time if I experienced any change in my plans. In the future I will never use another car rental service again except Sixt. I found it initially via my visa company and am so grateful. Thank you Sixt for an absolutely stellar experience and thank you Glenda and Grace!!! Btw the Mini Cooper John Cooperworks is a rocket of a drive!!
I must say that everytime I come to the Mission branch I have such a great experience. The process is always easy, seamless, and quick. The cars are always spotless. But, the most important part is the customer service. The customer service at the Mission branch is outstanding! They are warm, welcoming, always kind, and in a great mood! Corey and Glenda are a great asset to this team. I look forward to making this my go-to branch from now on! Keep up the good work and the all around excellent customer service!
Great staff, difficult company. Id give a one star but the reps were so friendly. Car was not fully cleaned and I had to clean the windows inside and out, despite the fact that this is supposed to be a luxury car rental. Very disappointing. Needed to exchange car but customers cannot access any local office, only an 800 number. The 800 number operators do not have inventory info so you have to drive to different locations to find a different car. A waste of precious hours most do not have while traveling. So frustration heaped upon disappointment at a high price. Not worth the money.
We’ve been renting from Sixt for years, but every time we wonder if it’s worth it. The cars are very nice and the cost is reasonable for what you get, but the process is horrible. Each of the past two times, it took an hour to pick up cars that have been previously reserved! That’s ridiculous and the staff is not to blame. It’s a result of poor executive management that under-staffs every location and provides a customer service number that leads you through a bunch of prompts and then hangs up on you (our representative confirmed that there is no way to reach them by phone). Most recently, we had to come to the Mission location because we went to the address on our reservation, which was in Downtown San Francisco, but it was vacant. Apparently, the location was reopened for a short period, but closed (COVID-19 related), and we were never notified. We couldn’t reach anyone, so we just went to the Mission in hopes that they would help us. We stood in line for 45 minutes because only one representative was working, and when we reached the desk, she had to move our reservation from a location that no longer existed, because it was still there in the system! She was very nice and it all worked out, but Sixt is a very poorly run company, so be prepared to waste valuable vacation time to get that Mercedes C-class that is so fun to drive! 😂
Super service from Corey S! He deserves a raise and is easily worthy of 5/5 stars. The computer system was slow and he was very friendly and professional and made sure we got a car that kept us happy. All the staff we interacted with were friendly, helpful, and not pushy. The nearly new BMW 330i we rented made our day trip to Santa Cruz incredible and memorable. Sixt will be my first choice for rentals from now.I must rate the experience 4/5 stars due to the super sketchy neighborhood and do their new policy of keeping the entry gate and doors locked during business hours (to reduce potential for crime), making car returns difficult and stressful. obviously Sixt is not to blame for this reality, but it does negatively impact the experience. Hopefully this area will be revitalized and more safe in the future, for now I consider this an uber-in/uber-out location.
Amazing experience at Sixt Van Ness location. Alina O. was the agent that helped me and she was nothing short of spectacular, very helpful, courteous and friendly. I was picking up a Sixt+ subscription vehicle, she explained the process and went over the vehicle with me along with the monthly procedure. It has now been 2 weeks since and and I still blown away with how awesome this whole service is that we are now getting one for my wife. Alina made the whole experience and Sixt+ has been very helpful with any questions I’ve had since leaving the Van Ness location. I am so thankful for Sixt and Alina for making it a pleasurable experience.
We rent at Sixt through Lyft. There is definitely work to be done on this integration. On multiple occasions we have turned up with a confirmed reservation only to find out that the car we are expected is unavailable. The app will offer free Pink upgrades that are not honored at the pickup location. They do have a nice selection of premium cars, but they have after hours return option which is a big hassle.
We were robbed (gun pointed at us) at Sixt car rental yet we have not received any clarification nor updates from Sixt to show that they take responsibilities for what happened to their customers at their property. We have been a loyal Sixt customer for years now. This month (October 2021) we rented a BMW X7 in Los Angeles and drove to San Francisco. As always, we would return the car at SFO; but this time the CS rep we talked to said we must return the car at Sixt Car Rental at Mission District, which is known to have the highest crime rate.We arrived around 4:30pm, parked at the lot right beside the entrance door and got off our car, when a dark silver sedan car stopped in the middle of the street, right in front of the entrance gate.2 young “black” men in grey hoodies and black vest ran out to us and pointed guns on our heads. There were 3 of us — me, my mom, and my dad.My mom was in the car, my dad opening the trunk when they approached him, while I just got off the right back door of the car. With two guns pointed at him, my dad calmly handed his expensive watch, and the second guy turned to me with his gun, demanding for my little backpack.Thank God, the car behind their car honked (since they were blocking the road) and the two guys dashed back into their car & ran away.More than 6 people (who were inside the car rental) witnessed what happened and the police came soon after. After everyone got questioned and we got our case number, the Sixt branch manager finally said we can return our car at the airport (SFO) since the car needs to go there anyway … Excuse me? Now you say we can ?As a 24 y.o., I am traumatized by what happened and very disappointed with how Sixt handles this matter.1) Knowing the area’s high crime rate and the frequent robbery that has been happening, why was there not a single security guard or even man at the store?2) Why make us go to Mission District to return the car, just to allow us to return at the airport later on?3) Sixt has given us zero updates nor contacted us — do we have to sue Sixt for them to take responsibility of what happened under their jurisdiction?
The SUV I rented was not available at the promised time. While I was given a loaner car while waiting for the SUV, this was not useful, as my traveling party could not fit in the rental car. I was not credited the 60 - 90 minutes the SUV was late, and ended up paying the full amount of my pre-paid rental. Eventually I received the SUV, which was fine, but I dont feel I should have had to pay for the time the previous customer still had my rental.
Grace J. was an absolute pleasure to do business with! Though we’d never rented through Sixt before, Grace made it easy for us to feel comfortable with (and upgrade!) our vehicle. Her positive attitude and professionalism was a pleasant surprise in addition to a great, clean, practically new car. Thank you, Grace and Sixt!!
Ive found my go-to car rental service in San Francisco! The Mission District Sixt has wonderful customer service (something I almost never say about car rental companies). Katarina helped us out with our rental and she was both professional and personable as we were selecting a car for a weekend trip. When there was a minor mishap while waiting for our vehicle, she went above and beyond to credit us on the original rental. The selection of cars here is great. Drop-off was a breeze as well. Ill be returning!
We had the worst experience with the Sixt branch at 475 S Van Ness with an attendant named Crystal who incorrectly charged us over $400 for an upgrade that she claimed would be a total of $88 in total. We have disputed the charge with our credit card company and requested to speak with the Branch manager without any response. Will never ever rent fro them again.
I absolutely loved visiting the Sixt locations in SF Mission District. The employees were so nice, and the process was fast. I had no idea Sixt had such a huge space in the middle of the city! I love their service, I love the cars, I love the prices. I don’t know if I’ll ever rent a car from other rental companies anymore. Sixt, for the win!
I definitively recommend that Sixt agency. Really wonderful people are working there. I did rent cars during months and always smiles, welcome, happiness, creativity in finding solutions. A pleasure. Special thanks to Tifany and Tamara who are really the reason I write that review.Additionnal review now after re renting again there:Grace J was really nice. Fantastic service. This is really appreciable to be helped with a person as committed as Grace. Thank you very much. See you soon
Grace helped us and always delivers awesome customer service (weve used Sixt Mission three separate times). The vehicle we reserved wasnt ready on time, so Grace problem solved and found us 3 options we could drive off the lot and took the time to show and explain each model. She strives for 5 but shes always 10 stars! Would highly recommend and, as locals, we would def use them again when we need long term car rentals in the Bay.
We Booked a car for the SF fisher mans wharf and they didn’t mention at all on the website that it had been closed down. We were chasing our tails for half an hour trying to find the sixt office. We then went to the mission office told the lady about the situation and she had ZERO empathy, didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience and then we couldn’t even rent a car because they didn’t accept debit cards only Credit Card. She wasn’t helpful at all and not empathetic to our situation. They were all just standing there with nothing to do because the store was dead quiet. This company also never never answer the phone. Crazy. We then went to Budget who were super helpful, kind and understanding and we were able to rent a car with them!
Horrible customer experience, upselling as if their lives depended on it. Every time I booked a car online, the car category is not available at the location and Im asked to pay double to get specs I booked for. Is it my fault you cant manage your car availability? Do not prepay online or your money is gone forever and theyll still make you pay more to modify dates or simply get a car category youve asked for. And dont expect to hear back from their customer service.
Very good experience. I rented with a debit card and only later realized I didn’t meet the criteria for such rental and should’ve rented with credit. When I came and explained my situation to the girl at the desk she was most helpful and changed my reservation - refunded my debit card and charged the same with credit. The only thing I would advise to be cautious about is car class. In most rentals the cheapest class will give you a Nissan Versa or Hyundai Accent - four door sedans that can fit 3-4 people and their luggage comfortably. This branch is a Mini branch so you’ll get a Mini. It’s really cool if you’re traveling solo or with one other person as Mini is a premium car for which you’d usually pay extra but it’s less fun if there’s more of you.
They charge you for a n extra day for no reason (i even read the contract - its 2 hours after your rental is due back they can charge for full day). There is no customer service to call and nobody answers emails!I have been renting with sixt for a long time, but this new no customer service system and random charges you can not dispute is way to wild to sign up for
Had a really great check in experience. Iryna was my agent and she was very polite, friendly and professional. It was very convenient and casual taking the car out and even easier returning it! Great location considering it is one block from the BART which made my life 100% easier. If they start stocking alfa romeo Ill be first in line!
Just waited in line for 30 minutes as the manager and her one employee chatted with some couple laughing it up well everyone in line waits and one for a woman started to cry because she was having to leave and lose her job..And then after waiting so long, and after already paying for the car, the woman lets me know that she will not take my credit card because theres a scratch on it... And then will not take my credit / debit card because it is also a debit card... And offers no recourse and does not refund my money...AVOID AT ALL COSTS!TLDR: sketchy business that does not care about their customers
Honestly I had a great experience here. The service was prompt and friendly. I rented a car for almost 20 days for a road trip and the car was almost new (like 800 miles). I like the fact that this location is in the mission that I didnt have to uber to SFO to pick up the car. All in all nothing went wrong and everything was fine, will rent again from Sixt and this location.
Sixt is a breath of fresh air in a rental car industry that most often seems indifferent and inflexible. Sixt has an excellent selection of clean well-maintained vehicles at fair prices. The staff is great especially Anna at the Mission St. San Francisco branch. Why bother going to the other big car rental companies when you can have a great experience with Sixt?
Avoid this company! They have completely “whatever, dude,” attitude. Booked Mini Countryman online (or similar full size sedan) when i arrived to this location the guy at the counter said that they dont have Countryman. He proceeded with trying to up-sell all the insurance options, spent like 15 min of my time checking my documents. And then Instead of the car that we ordered he offered a 2 door mini that hardly fits 2 ppl or Chevrolet that already had several dents and scratches and didnt look safe to drive. The guy had the whatever, dude” attitude. Not having the cars at that location is their fault, they didnt feel sorry at all that i spent time commuting there, filling in documents, etc. They had a similar size SUV and he refused to give it to me. He has not even suggested that I have to pay for the upgrade, he just said NO!
Another poor Sixt experience. We rented a car online but apparently (at the start of the pandemic) their website was displaying incorrect information about their opening hours + let you book cars at times they were closed. We could pick up another car at SFO airport so had to take an Uber and pay a higher fee on that car as our booked class was no longer available. Obviously Sixt never responded to any of our notes for refunds.
Stay away from this place! Worst experience ever! Dont rent or return the car at this location! They took a picture of dust that was already there when I rented the car and use it to fabricate the evidence that I smoked in the car. Their employee is committing perjury by saying that there was an odor in the car. As far as no one smoked in the car there was no odor. Even more Ive been driving the whole day with open sunroof along HWY 1 and the only smell that was inside was the smell of ocean breeze and eucalyptus. Once again, stay away from this sixt location.@ business owner using false evidence is a felony
Horrible experienceRented a car 6 weeks before a trip. Went to pick it up and the office was closed and had been closed for over a week. Nobody informed me. Closest office 5 miles away asked for a ride there and after 35 minutes was picked up. Nobody informed me the office was closed Even when they send me an email the day before to verify the rental.I had rented a convertible for a special trip with my son, kind of the bases for the rental. Well there was no convertible available. Nope!! No apologies just a normal day for them. Ended up getting a family SUV the only car available instead of the convertible as planned for a long trip. Oh then I had to pay that days price for the rental not the Lower priced I would had booked 6 weeks ahead. Then the suv was 35 per day then now was 200 so they were nice enough to give me the lowest rate for the day... 70 per day. Total was less than the convertible but again I went from a convertible to an SUV it had to be cheaper and it was not what I had in my original rental agreement. Not what I wanted to drive with my son in a cross country trip for his graduation.Emailed them and the reply was even more worrisome. “Sorry for the inconvinience”They never had the car and never cared to honor their part of the deal. The answer showed this was a normal thing and sorry was good enough. It was my first time and will be last.Update!!! 3 weeks after I return my car ( return was in Las Vegas Airport) I got an email stating that there was damage to the car!! WHAT???? (By the way there were 2 recorded songs on the door that were never repaired). Car was never damage under my rental. When I return it in Las Vegas at 7:30 pm the office was closed. The office is in a strip mall across the street from the REAL car rental center for the Las Vegas airport, not even part of it. You have to leave the car parked in a strip mall parking lot, there goes a supposed new ding that although they report happen then was report to me 3 weeks later after I complained about their service. Stay away from this German company.
Awful. They tried to charge me for an extra day, which I could only fix by taking an Uber back to the rental location (Mission street) There is NO phone customer service at all! If I had gotten on a flight there would have been no way to contact anyone at sixt to get my money back. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
I reserved an SUV and knew that an all wheel drive wasn’t guaranteed. I called and talked with a guy who said he was the manager. He said that we’d either get our reserved SUV or a different model that “would be more comfortable.” We show up and are given one option for all wheel drive - a Volvo sedan that costs $100/day! The woman at the counter was completely “whatever, dude,” and cancelled our reservation.
There was almost no wait time at all. The staff were very polite, and upon disvovering some internal damage from the priveous renter they took the time to compleatly look the car over again and docqumented the damage to put my mind at ease. They really went the extra mile to ensure my rental experiance was positive.
Expect a lot of upselling. They might ask you how many bags and people are coming and where you’re going, all for a larger car upsell. And they really lay on the guilt trips if you decline insurance, forcing you to say you’ll pay for the car out-of-pocket if something goes wrong.
Wish I could give 0 stars. The moment our family(were Asian) walked in I could notice the associate was judging how we dressed and was extremely rude from the get go. I had a credit card from Korea which they did not accept because it was not from a major bank and left a snark comment that shes never seen a card from this bank before. Weve had no trouble renting cars with the same credit card at every other rental car agency. They didnt provide any alternative options and basically nudged us to leave despite us having paid the full amount for the SUV. The associate told us to email corporate to cancel the reservation and when we did they were going to charge us a fee of the amount we pre paid for the car and would not give any refund which made 0 sense. We still havent heard back from these scammers and Im charging a dispute through my bank to get my money back which is an absolute headache.
This is one of the best car rental companies I have Experience an I love it 😊 very nice an very helpful in every way possible 😊 customer service in house an over the phone is excellent!!!!!!!! I will be back an I’ll send my friendsThank you for being an awesome company 😊
Never Rent From them, they changed their hours because of covid which is completely understandable, but then didnt honor my original booking rate and charged me $244 more when the reservation was changed. I originally booked 6:30pm Pickup but they closed early and then I had to pick up the next day for $244 Additional!!!They also sent me an incorrect return receipt saying I returned the car in a different location, when I did not.Notice my original receipt for $424 then new charge for $669
Mission District is an understaffed, half built mess. I waited 50 minutes in line as they only had one employee working on a busy weekend. The car choices on their site are not respected, you will be given whatever they have and they will not adjust the rate to reflect that. Avoid.
The staff is pleasant and attentive. However, the schedules are not respected (more than one hour of waiting to recover a car), the advice does not correspond to reality but only to a desire to increase the load for the customer.Tire pressure was not checked and was incorrect...On the contract submitted, neither the model nor the license plate correspond to the rented vehicle. The email containing the various apparent damages recognized by Sixt will never be sent to us.In short, a general lack of professionalism in this agency.
I had made a choice of category beforehand (Rav4). On the spot they ask me if a BMW X3 was ok. At other car rental companies I also received such a question to see if I agreed with that model with regard to the ordered model. In this case it turned out afterwards that it was an upgrade that I had to pay, I only noticed this afterwards in the confirmation email. I probably should have paid more attention, on the other hand I was never told it was a paid upgrade nor what the price was.For me this is reason enough not to work with SIXT in the future....Update -- 24/7/2022 : After my review above, SIXT contacted me, they reviewed my file and refunded the upgrade in full. Thats why I change my score.
AWFUL experience! I would never ever rent with this agency again. I also do not recommend. We rent a car from Friday to Monday. We returned it MONDAY at the time we were supposed to. The following Wednesday I get an invoice stating that we had returned the car on Wednesday instead of Monday. Sure, they dont make you sign anything so we had no proof that we had returned it in a timely manner. I went to complain to the agency and the girl, all nervous, said that they should check the cameras because supposedly we returned it on Wednesday. I told them to please check the cameras, to which he told me that the person in charge was not there to do it. So they sent me home to wait for an “email or call” so they could come back to check the cameras. THEY NEVER DID. Call and call they never answered, claim with the credit card and they won the dispute because we did not have proof (like a plane ticket, I live in sf it is impossible for me to have a ticket for something) therefore I had to pay the extra three more days. A disaster.
DO NOT LEASE WITH SIXT, PERSONNEL IS DANGEROUS.My experience with Sixt was terrible, the staff tries to sell you related services, I do not recommend leasing vehicles with this company. We rented in San Francisco with delivery in Los Angeles with Sixt as it offered the most convenient prices. At the time of picking up the vehicle, the person at the inn recommended us to pay extra for tolls, after hearing that we did not know the country, he assured us that it was the only option to rent since the charges would be gigantic due to the amount of tolls between San Francisco and Los Angels. The truth is that there are no tolls in California, we felt cheated by the staff who took advantage of our status as tourists, a tremendous loss.Once we realized this, trying to change the reservation is impossible since the rental prices are considered fixed. In conclusion, once we had been charged more than 200 usd for a service that we did not ask for initially and that we did not need, they tell us that it is impossible to modify/reduce it.It was nothing more than a headache when it came to getting to know such a beautiful region.

2022-06-23Ive had only the best experiences renting from SIXT, both here in the US and in Europe.I very recently rented from Corey at the S Van Ness (SF) location. A seamless transaction: he was very efficient, super cordial, and best of all, went out of his way to secure a brand new (100 miles on the odometer!) premium car for a fun getaway weekend up the northern CA coast.Upon returning the car, he immediately recognized me with a warm welcome and had the rental closed out in a matter of minutes.Wont hesitate to rent from here again and thanks to Corey for the top-notch service!

2022-01-04Sixt is great! Glenda is customer focused; friendly, attentive and intuitve. The transaction went fairly efficient. There was an issue with my car, so I was super happy with availability of a replacement car; love the car diversity in selection. The car was thoroughly clean, which is awesome (the competitor rentals are often not). The prices are very very competitive, Ive shifted from the old style competitors like Hertz/Avis/Enterprise/Alamo..Thank you for coming into the rental market. Ill definitely be renting again!PS: can you consider opening a car across the bridge, into Oakland?

2022-02-25Staff were nice BUT didnt explain the cost breakdown or the options of the rental and I felt rushed to sign and get out. Car wasnt ready but they didnt double check and I only noticed that its not clean and washer fluid was empty after i was already on the road. Not using this branch againUpdate: SIXT got back to me after posting this review and the customer service team reinvestigated my case. Though they made it clear that I acknowledged the rental fee and condition before I made the payment at the branch, they gave me a one off exception and reimbursed me for my claim.

2022-04-14I ran into insurance issues with the rental car I was given. I went into the Mission District location, and Alina and Amelia were super helpful. They helped contact nearby locations to see if same class vehicles are available for exchange. They were patient and resourceful!

2022-02-07Five stars for Christina! Her bubblypersonality and customer service didn’t go unnoticed. She opened the door for us as we had luggage, greeted and gave us a lovely car. What I didn’t like was the usual song and dance around added protection (insurance) and upgrade trickery. Unnecessary and shady. This is Sixt corporate policy no doubt, so if it wasn’t for Christina and her excellent customer service we would have gone elsewhere.

2022-06-27Great service! We got there and they had another (more desirable for our trip) car available - a Camaro - which they did not hesitate to offer us. They even checked surrounding locations for other cars. When the USBs on that car malfunctioned, they did their best (and succeeded) in finding another more than acceptable car for us. Please be sure to ask for Cory as he was truly exceptional, accommodating, and nice. He also had a female colleague with him (I forget her name) who even helped us with travel tips/suggestions and help with our travel routes. This was an extremely pleasant experience, and I would recommend SIXT and this location to anybody. I will mention that the only hiccup was that we were suggested to purchase the totally unnecessary toll pass. Just be sure to check your route on your own before buying. All in all, I would give more stars if I could.

2022-04-24Wide selection of great cars. I had a chance to try a few out while on my extended stay and rental. This is not my first time renting here. I have spoken with a few different staff members and even was lucky enough to run into Tiffany.

2022-03-28The staff at Sixt branch of San Francisco Mission District who gave me the vehicle on 21st of March at 1:00 PM was not professional and not cooperated. He was fast with a previous customer from Europe but too slow with me making it too difficult specially when it comes to checking my passport and my documents. His attitude was like trying to find a problem and making it impossible. I rented cars many time from Sixt around the US and the world because I like Sixt Service Quality but that guy almost made me change my mind. The surprise was that his boss was around and seen his attitude but she never interfere to sort it out. The poor cleaning condition of the given car was something else. When I asked to change the vehicle or clean the car properly, request wasn’t taken in consideration and I got delayed more. At the end, I found myself I had to accept and take the car due pre authorization made on my Credit card and my time limit as I was on short holiday

2022-04-09My family and I have rented from other companies previously and had never heard of SIXT prior to this most recent trip (California). We chose SIXT because it was the best price; however, our experience from pick-up to return was far from an economy experience. The staff were friendly, professional, and efficient. We picked up in SFO and returned at LAX - the fleet of cars we saw at both locations were premium. Our SUV rental was upgraded to a convertible Audi (bonus!) - and a specific thank you to Corey in SFO/Mission District. An A+ experience and highly recommend. Thank you, SIXT!

2022-05-02Amelia was very helpful and was very friendly to us. We got great help from you. When we have problems booking, you can find a way for us to get the best price. In addition, you also give us directions and maps to travel to our destination. Thank you for caring about us!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ here
