Positive: The night attendant was accommodating as we checked in late. Negative: The room was not clean. The floors were very dirty, the hide-a-bed had lots of dust, hair and filth around/under it. The blankets and sheets looked as if they had not been changed before our arrival. They had stains and hairs on them. Would not stay again
Positive: The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. The penthouse suite was a reck.the sliding doors into the bathroom were off the tracks and wouldnt close. The room has a 10 sliding door and only 7 of curtain. The windows were dirty. The hole suite was dirty. Negative: The hole experience was a disaster. The kitchen utensils were old an dirty,a match of fork and spoons I would not use for my dogs food.the bathroom was shardwith both bedrooms and would not close or lock.the hole experience was very disappointing.
Positive: Absolutely nothing! Negative: Lots to complain about, but will focus on one. Toilet has remnants of feces in it. Tried flushing several time and still did not go away. Asked staff to clean & they said no one is available until tomorrow morning. Staff unwilling to help resolve problem.
I stayed here in November, it was super cheap. Got what I expected for a less than $100 stay. Walked in at 8pm the night of, I was traveling solo, they had an open room. I didnt have any issues. Place is very dated but no issues. Totally fine for a short stay before getting up and getting into the park early.
Please call to cancel your reservation if you even made it through any big name reservation stie , like Vrbo or etc. This place is a total scam! I have booked this place through Vrbo for Thanksgiving family vacy to Sequoia, but we have cancelled our trip within its 100% refund cancellation period due to majority park closed due to wild fire. But they didnt refund my money till now and didnt process my cancel request neither. After I have escalated my issue with Vrbo, they sent me a message through Vrbo said that I should contact them directly to cancel my reservation and didnt refund my money. Are you kidding call you directly for cancel? Then why should I use Vrbo to make a reservation at the first place? A place like this shouldnt do business. My trip was $843.80, not just couple hundred dollars. Make a call for requesting cancel now if you made a reservation to this place.
Location location location. Simple motel with simple rooms. Great location if you want to stay near the park. Rate included breakfast but we missed it as we slept in until we’ve been woken up by strong knocking on the glass slide door(no regular doors here…) and when I opened the guy asked if we need more towels; love the extra towels and the effort but…please, don’t knock like there’s fire 🔥😅🤨Over all clean but pricey for what you get.
Positive: Location. They do not change you bed comforter. They simply make the bed and leave last nights covers on the bed. Dirty and gross. The rooms are gross. The pool is dirty. They stop serving breakfast at 9 instead of 10 In some weird attempt to save money Negative: Dirty rooms. Dirty beds. Dirty pool. Shitty response when you ask for help. The parking is ridiculous.
Run down old motel with few amenities. Its clear the owners are doing little more than squeezing the last few drops from this aged turnip. While I give them credit for clean, there is no upkeep being done, and nothing that would constitute an expense is being made. Honestly, Ive never stayed anywhere that soap of some sort wasnt provided. And while they did provide a coffeemaker and some coffee packs in the room, there were no cups to put it in. The a/c in our room barely kept the temp below the outside condition, and there was a note attached to not lower the setting. The pool was closed but it was a shamble with parts and pieces laying about. For the price charged, a lot more could be provided and still make a profit. They know they can get away with taking advantage of one-time tourists who wont be back anyway. Even if it is the cheapest place in the area, I strongly suggest avoiding this dump.
Zero stars. No doubt. Unfortunately I booked this dump for the July 4 weekend as a last resort and it was worse than expected. The rooms smelled, all the amenities were old and outdated, there were flies in the room, the pool was dirty and smelly, the bathroom had dirty towels and holes in them, the bed covers had stains on them, the breakfast? Dont count on it, lack of coffee and some cheap stale muffins. The front desk staff dont even care when confronted with the conditions. I will NEVER stay at this lodge again!!
This place deserves better reviews than it has. If you’re looking for a place that’s modern and has everything perfectly managed, you simply have to increase your budget. This place is affordable, has a pool with a nice view, comfy beds, and a friendly manager. Breakfast consists of cereal, coffee, tea, and pastries. The location is perfect for Sequoia National Park as well. The room was clean, smelled a bit of cleaning chemicals but that was easily removed by airing out the place a little bit. The parking lot is awkward, but with a small lot there’s not much else that can be done to improve it. Overall it’s a very solid mid-low budget option for such a popular destination.
Three stars perfectly sums up our experience at Sierra Lodge. A place like this makes Motel 6 look like the overachiever. A relatively low cost for a nights stay and close proximity to Sequoia National Park are pretty much the main reasons why anyone would stay here. Upon arriving, youll quickly notice that the parking lot is small so extra caution is needed to maneuver in and out. Check-in was quick with the friendly and mellow manager of the lodge. While some of the other reviews cited dirty accommodations and unwelcomed guests such as roaches, we are happy to report we had none of those save for some ants. Sheets, pillows, and the beds all appeared to be fine. The room is a mix of old, antiquated design with some modern upgrades sprinkled in. This includes power outlets with USB ports and newer lighting fixtures. Most underwhelming of all was probably the bathroom. The faucet aerator was either broken or missing because water out of the faucet was uncontrolled and messy. The tub was a bit on the small side and fixtures within seemed loose. There is no restroom fan, but there was a tiny window that can be opened for ventilation. Unfortunately, for our room, the window was right next to the main road, meaning sneaky eyes can easily peek in.The free breakfast was a thoughtful touch, but you are better off bringing your own food. What was offered included sugary baked goods, cereal, milk, and instant oatmeal. The coffee was fine, but Starbucks looks gourmet in comparison. As mediocre as this stay was, it cannot overshadow the grandeur and stupefying beauty that I have witnessed while at Sequoia National Park.
Location is good but service was lacking. We had issues with air conditioner in one of the cottages but service desk didnt help fix and we had issues in sleeping due to air conditioner not properly working. Cottage wasnt cleaned at all when we checked in, we had to clean it to make it liveable. Basic things lacking like not enough plates for guests, no cleaning supply in cottage etc.
This place is in very very poor disrepair. The rooms are outdated and barely clean. Faucet in bathroom is broken and water runs non- stop. Towels are gray and rough with holes. TV did not work. Workers were drilling holes on my wall on a Saturday morning at 9:45. This place does feel or look safe. I am very disappointed as I booked the room through the NPS. I expected that they would have vetted the hotel better before handling the reservations. The location is good as it is close to the entrance of Sequoia national Park. However, this hotel is not worth it at any price.
Outlets and lights on night stands not working, tv not working, electrics dangerous, in general very dirty. They are clearly upgrading, but who ever they hired to fit the new outlets, fixtures and fittings is a real jack of no trades and also master of none. We are normally very easy going. But a clean bed and bathroom, and safe electrics is something we do appreciate, definitely if you are a paying customer. Staff is friendly, but a poorly managed property can not be pointed towards the staff. Dirty and dated reception area, with dead flies on the window sills. Shower curtain is pink from all the human cells from previous guests. We stayed in room G, after room 9 which was worse than G. Very dated and dirty bathroom.Staying in room G is not recommend. Guests were standing in front of reception at 6:30am talking very loud (amplified by the echo of sound bouncing between the buildings), waiting for their breakfast. The couple in the room beside us had a fight and it sounded as if they were in our room. Breakfast is packets of muffins from a gas station and cereal. All together... A total disaster. Sequoia park was awesome, which thankfully flipped our bad night experience 180° around.
Positive: Nothing, really. We¿ve stayed here a few times and that doesn¿t seem to matter to the staff, they could care less. Room was really dirty, looked like someone had thrown up on the drape when we closed it, the tray under the coffee pot was cracked, Negative: Dripping faucet, shower sucked, no force at all, roaches and flies! Never again!
Cockroaches in my sons room and my daughters room. Blood on bed in sons room. Daughters room toilet wouldn’t flush. Our room had the electrical outlet hanging out of the wall. Extremely out of date. If you see anything above a 2 star review, they are writing it themselves… I would rather sleep in my car. The worst hotel I’ve ever seen or even heard of. Other guests asked us if we were staying, definitely did not and the staff wouldn’t even talk to us about a refund. Learned my lesson, take pictures before you say anything to get your money back.
The property is old and looks its age. The room has a sliding glass door in place of a regular wood door. Parking can be challenging, I saw one of the guests hit a car as he pulled out. The room is cozy but has a strange odor. The AC doesnt work properly. The bathroom door doesnt latch easily, you need to push hard, and there are bugs. Theres a small microwave and refrigerator.Theres no access to the river. They have a small pool and only allow 8 people at a time. Its expensive, overpriced even.
Gross. There were bugs in our room, to include a Jerusalem Cricket. The sheets had what seemed like blood stains. The smell was weird and it seemed like they just sprayed something to cover it up. The water pressure was so horrible the toilet barely flushed. When we brought these issues to the front desk he said we were liars and refused to give us a refund. We usually aren’t too picky on places to stay, especially in a location like this, but never again. Don’t waste your time or money. Drive the extra 30 minutes and stay in Visalia.
NEVER STAY HERE1. The air conditioner didnt work. (During a heat wave)2. The pool had not been cleaned in over a month. You couldnt see the bottom.3. The service was non existent.4. The clerk offered a discount because of the issues then did the checkout without the discounts and leaving a newbie clerk on the office to tell us this. He wouldnt show his face.
My first room was F it wasn’t clean and the trash was full. Went to the desk to get a different room and got put in room 9 where I killed a cockroach and the electrical work was questionable at best. Checked for bed bugs after finding the cockroach and found blood under the sheets padded by a towel. We ended up asking for a refund and finding another place to stay. Avoid this place and save your time and money.
Stay way from this hotel.Room is old and definitely need renovation.TV is not working properly flashing white every 5 seconds!! No water pressure to shower properly... Its just unbelievable nothing working properly.Breakfast is not Breakfast its ridiculous! The guy at front desk is weird, mean, not friendly. They are lucky to be located to a tourism site otherwise they wont get any business! I will never come back and wont recommend it.
Stayed here in April 2021. We got 2 rooms; a suite with a fireplace and kitchen, and then just a normal queen size room. The place was an absolute dump. The rooms were old, unclean, they stunk, the sheets were speckled with black stuff and dirt. There was a dove chocolate wrapper on the floor in the bathroom and a kids sock in the living room area. My wash cloth had a hole in it. The foot towel was actually dirty. The bathroom was updated, but there was a large bump and tear in the floor. The breakfast was cereal, pastries and coffee. The whole place just had a disgusting feel to it. My friend got the suite with a fire place and there were ants all over the kitchen in her room. Find another place to stay.
Positive: Well, the location was good. Negative: The hotel owner was not present when we arrived - took 15 minutes for someone to show up at the desk. We were checked in to the ¿VIP suite¿ and let me just say we did not feel like VIP¿s the property is from the 1970¿s with few if any updates.
BED BUGS ALERT RUN AWAY1 star because I couldnt do 0. We had bed bugs in the 2 beds and the sofa bed. We also had ants in our room. We had our room late (1h30 late) because it was not ready. We saw the maids in our room, but to be honest, I dont know what they were doing because the room was really dirty !!The manager is not very dynamic and responsive, like he does not care about his clients. A lot of people were really upset
Giving one star coz cant give zero. DO NOT STAY at this place. Rooms are unclean and towels/bedsheets doesnt seem to be washed with spots present. Broken window blinds and unclean bathroom with hairs from the stay before. Very bad state of the room generally (see photos) even the floor seems dusty and not cleaned
BEWARE! Do NOT book this place, even if desperate (like my friend and I were), you’re better off sleeping in your car. We checked into Room 8 around 10:30 pm and were running out of this room at 12:30 a.m. after being bitten by BED BUGS all over our bodies. Disgusting. Small ants crawling around as well, bedspread was dirty and we even asked for a clean one after getting to the room and were told they didn’t have any more. No one was at the desk when we ran out, to even ask for a refund, we stopped in the morning after thankfully finding an open room at the Comfort Inn down the street (much much better and cheaper) and they only offered a half room.tl;dr: Bed bugs. Horrible. Avoid.
The logg is at a great location and only 4 miles away from the gate to enter Sequoia national park. You can tell they are doing remodel to some of the rooms and updating somethings. I enjoyed the small breakfast options (pastry, cereal, oatmeal) with the option of tea or coffee. The staff was really helpful and informative.
Its a get what you pay for kinda place. & the only thing you are paying for is the location. We stayed March 22nd - weather was incredible, I wish more of the campsites were open because camping would have been better then sleeping here. I think the showers at the campsites would have even been better than this place. There are a few other lodges, motels in Three Rivers and I would direct you to go someplace else that is better managed. Like many of these reviews point out there is absolutely no front desk service. You think someone would at least be available during check in hours?? Its obviously managed by people who dont own the place otherwise they wouldnt treat it like such trash. I just wish whoever the owners were would care a bit more because this place has potential. Overall - never would i ever stay again nor recommend.
Just dont... Please just dont.Booked a stay for one night here at sierra lodge, and within 10 minutes of getting the keys to our room (which was a ground floor room that had a sliding glass door as our front door) we left... Their laundry is done in a garage that also houses their yard equipment: gas jugs, weed eater. Etc. We got into our room and the fridge didnt work, lights flickered, and room felt like a poorly remodeled prison cell. We left and camped instead...Camping felt cleaner.
Filthy room, chemical smell, bugs, sticky floors, AC not working but dripping water, gentleman at front desk rude and obnoxious. Left as soon as seen room, man refused to refund any money over $300.00.I would have preferred staying at the Bates Motel at least it looked clean.
The room was dirty. Towels were dingy, gray and had multiple hairs on them all. The electrical outlets were broken and falling apart. Beds had dirt and hairs in sheets. Front desk was unhelpful at best. No toilet paper in the room at check in. Had to ask twice for a remote then had to program it ourselves. Not worth the $100 even considering the location.
The only reason this gets two stars is because of the location. A week before traveling to the lodge, I both emailed and called numerous times with questions about the room and received no response. When we got there it was a ghost town. The front desk was unattended, the computer was off, and you could see 35 missed calls on the phone. Someone could have easily robbed the place. We waited over 30 minutes to be checked in until I finally found some form of life who was actually a maid to check us in who was not wearing a mask. When we finally got in the room, all we could do was laugh to keep from crying. The front door is a sliding glass door thats been frosted with curtains that didnt block the doors very well and were falling off the walls. Our sheets, blankets, and lampshade were stained with what was either marker or make up as well as random little specks of blood. Only had one toilet paper roll in the bathroom and absolutely no soap for anything. The peel and stick floor was warping and coming up. The walls were made of concrete and not well insulated at all considering we were staying in the winter. We did book the room with a fireplace and they provided A log, but with no means to light it. I also found a black centipede the size of my palm roaming around the bathroom at 5 am.The only reason we didnt leave was because we couldnt afford a different hotel. We were only being charged $200 for 3 nights vs $400-$500 at any other surrounding hotels. We normally stay at 2 star hotels and have never had a bad experience but this one by far was the worst. We felt so unsafe that we hung the extra blanket they provided in front of the doors for more insulation and privacy. We also put our cooler in front of the door to trip up anyone who may try to come in.Although its location is very close to shops and the national park, I will NEVER stay here again. Save your money and stay somewhere that wont give you tetanus.
Check in per Booking.com website states 2PM, but when I showed up at 2PM no one came to the front desk until 3:15! The room was dirty, the sink was clogged, bugs in every corner, floor sticky, electrical outlet in bathroom didnt work, they didnt even leave hand soap. I would have cancelled immediately once I saw the room, but every hotel was booked. I did not expect anything fancy, but I expected clean and I expected on time check in.
IMPORTANT! The place misleads you on booking.com. I paid for a room with a balcony, but there’s none of them here. The front desk employee is very aggressive and disrespectful, he doesn’t accept his fault and after I asked my money back if they can’t provide me the room I paid for, he started shouting he’d call the police. I hope this guy will be fired soon and no other customers won’t waste their money and time here. The place is very old, the smell in the room is disgusting.
Room with a fireplace was disgusting. Could not stay in it. The room stunk from years of cresol buildup. It made me ill. There were only 2 small windows that were left open to try and air the place out. No good! Do not stay in any room unless you see it first! We booked this on Hotwire and had to cancel our reservation and loose our money. Went down the road and for the same price stayed at a much better place.
This is the WORST hotel. The room had a wood burning fireplace that was not mentioned in the add. The room smelled so badly of smoke and cresol that we could not stay in it. It was making us nauseous. Only 2 small windows that were already open to air it out. We had prebooked and paid through Hotwire and the owner said all rooms were full so he would not move us or offer a refund. We left and stayed at another hotel, The River Inn, which was much better. We called Hotwire and they refused to refund our money. AVOID the Sierra Lodge.
This hotel was a really cute place to stay at.I read a lot of reviews before, it was 50-50 so I did not really know what to expect.BUT I must say, those people who wrote a lot of bad things, I dont know what they were talking about. From 10 points I would definitely give 11.First of all we arrived late in the night, no problem there was a bell, you call in somebody let you in, check in took maybe 2-3 minutes, perfect.Free parking spots just outside of your room.In the rooms there were heaters, double blanket, your own bathroom, fridge, table, armchair, modern plugins with usb and you had you own terrace, looking over the forest, so I must say it was a really good size room, much bigger than we could wish for.Sure in the bathroom there were some signs of reparations which could have been done much nicer, but it absolutely did not disturb our stay.Next morning, there was a small breakfast prepared in the check in area.Coffee tea oat meal bagels butter jam fruits, just a simple small breakfast, which we thought was really nice (included in the price)The hotel is in a wonderful area, almost at the entrance of Sequoia National park.We would definitely stay here again, and we are going to recommend it for friends visiting this area.
The staff was rude and lazy. The place was very dirty, there was cobwebs and lots of bedbugs. The floor was filthy and there were spiders everywhere. The door locks were shabby and didnt work very well. The sheets were dirty and old. The shutters for the windows were broken and the ac did not work. The water pressure was weak and almost unusable. Do not come here, it is dirty and uncomfortable
Just couldn’t sleep comfortably. I’m not a fan of bugs so that fact that there were huge cockroaches and spiders made me not even want to spend the night. Although the Pool was pretty cool, the room was just not it. The walls were dirty, bed sheets not clean enough. And i had to pay 170 for just one night. Nope sorry, it was just not it for me:(
Had to cancel trip because of the wildfires. We did want to keep the trip on, so qw initially changed the dates, but ultimately had to cancel. Called hotel to see about avoiding cancellation fees given the circumstances. Was told that Booking.com was responsible for charging fees, that I should follow up with them. Tried that. Became clear that it was the hotels policy to charge a cancellation fee, not Booking.com. Called hotel several times to clarify, no answer. Finally got through a day before we were supposed to check-in. Very unsympathetic service by the front desk, they actually told me that the weather was fine and there was nothing to worry about. Note our campground booking was cancelled by National Park Service given how bad the air pollution from the wildfires became. I can understand that a policy is a policy, but dont waste someones time by blaming a third party website when its your own policy. Lost a lot of time and still had to pay. Would not recommend.
1 only because there is no 0 on here. Dank first of all. Came back after a bite of lunch pulled open a draw in the kitchenet and found it full and i mean full of mouse droppings! We loaded up and told them no way...they refused to refund our money. So sleep in the parking lot its cleaner.
I planned to stay at the Sierra Lodge in the summer of 2021, but had a family member show covid symptoms the day we were to travel, which caused us to postpone our trip. Management was unprofessional and initially refused to respond to my messages, and was unwilling to consider even rescheduling my stay when we finally spoke, despite having ample availability. I suggest avoiding, as much because of the unpleasantness of the interaction as the inflexibility.
The place is old. The rooms ok I guess (for the price)There is no one in the lobby, to check in I have to wait 25 min and I had a question and I had to wait another 29 minutes before someone show up. Also very loud!!I just try to call the lobby but no one answered.Btw the lobby smells bad.If possible look for another place to stay.
The place is clean. Probably the least expensive option right before sequoia national park. The place could use some upgrades. The water pressure is very low in the showers, and they are very small. If youre looking for breakfast they have cereal and some bagels. All in all we spent 135 for one night which if this same place was located in the city it would go for about half of that.
I am writing this review based on an off season pricing special in mind. The check in experience was painless. The room was somewhat updated with newer looking floors and a very nice looking fire place. Some rooms have parking available underneath the walkways to the rooms which is nice to keep your vehicle out of the elements. It appeared that there was staff working on updating most of the rooms. The negatives- water pressure in the shower was variable, and the smoke alarm was triggered by excess smoke entering the room from the fireplace. Overall a good value and a positive experience.
Value for money and a good location for exploring Sequoia. It is about 45 mins up the windy General Sherman highway and there are good food options nearby. The lodging is comfortable and suitable for someone who plans to spend most of their day in the park.Microwave and fridge in the room.
This place is very terrible too expensive for what you get. i’m here right now and the pool is green. We asked the guy when will they clean he said they do once a month and said he can’t answer if it’s safe to be in and said it’s not their fault if we get infections and the rooms had a strong nasty smell.Honestly don’t recommend at all
We had the worst experience upon arrival at a hotel / motel ever. The guy at the reception was super unfriendly and after asking for my name he immediately said that we would need to pay the room we booked via Expedia again because Expedia isn’t paying him. I told him that I paid Expedia already via credit card. He replied he didn’t care, we should pay a second time and should ask Expedia for a refund afterwards! WHAT??? I have never heard such an audacious lie before. I’ve literally booked dozens of hotels in Expedia and none of them ever came up with such a story. I bet he just wants to avoid the commission Expedia is charging him. We canceled our booking with him immediately and booked another hotel in Three Rivers, but only got half of our payment refunded. I will definitely contact Expedia after our vacation to get this sorted out and I genuinely hope this crook will get delisted. My recommendation: DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE which by the way from our first impression looked really filthy and disheveled.
Some say the rooms are old but I would like the style if only the practical aspects were fixed. The WiFi in room 8 is unstable, as it is the furthest away from the reception. The AC/Heating is old and noisy, there is no thermostat. There is no heating in the bathroom nor exhaust, after a shower everything is covered in condensation. The shower head is about 5 feet from the floor, perfect for a shower from the shoulders down and the water temperature varies a lot. The breakfast is just coffee and orange not-juice, but the cake is good. The staff is friendly although does not seem too pleased to be here. There is a small library and a chess game in the lobby. The parking is very small and if someone does not park properly you will not get in/out.
Room was very, very basic but suited our needs still. Feels a little empty and “cold” inside the room. Bathroom facilities were all good.Great location to the entrance of Sequoia National Park. Host was a little hard to understand when checking in but once that was sorted it was okay. Breakfast was very basic, little bit of OJ would make it better to begin with (for us non coffee drinkers and no free water available at the breakfast bar) cute area to sit outside while eating breakfast too! There was a lovely pool that had sun until into the evening and was great after some hikes. We met some super lovely people who were also travelling! In the office they had some board games so we played some with the new friends we met!
Despite the mixed reviews, we thought we would still give it a chance given the reasonable online prices. However, when we got here, they said the best price they could do was $25 more than the online price. The exterior looks to be in poor condition, but the inside looked to be newly renovated. The inside seemed clean, but the heater was very loud and we could hear talking through the very thin walls. We got to breakfast a little later in the morning to find a the garbage over flowing, crumbs everywhere, and hardly any food left. When asked if breakfast is still happening, the guy brought out a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread.....not what I could call a continental breakfast. In addition, you must pay for water at breakfast, and the WiFi is close to useless.I would expect this for a $40 motel. However, for $85 not in the busy season, this motel was very disappointing.
Worst Hotel in the US I‘ve ever been to.Rooms feel like you are sleeping in a garage, are not really clean and the air-con sounds like a starting jet.Breakfast is a joke and only there so the owners can advertise it, Water at the breakfast buffet costs one dollar. Guy at the reception was creepySleeping is nearly impossible because you hear everything happening in other rooms. Would rather recommend to sleep in your car than staying here. Can‘t give the place 0 Stars so one star it is.
I honestly would like to say that my husband and I go to three rivers to get away several times a year and theyre nice spots but I will say that Sierra Lodge is my favorite. The price was great and our room was so cozy. It was so peaceful and beautiful and the owner was so kind. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We will be going back soon!
Spent $104.00 for a very small outdated room. Parking was horrible and the pool was green and disgusting. The room itself had a very loud heater and a tiny shower barly big enough to wash in. There was little notes taped all over the walls saying that you will have extra charges if you dont do this or that and abide to their directions. Their continental breakfast was a joke with milk, cold cereal and bread. Motel 6 is cheaper, bigger and nicer than this place will ever be.
Its good place to stay. Breakfast is later than we would have liked. Its next to a national park so people want to get out earlier but breakfast starts at 8am. Clean rooms and theyre busy updating the rooms with new floors, furniture and toilets. It will be great when theyre completed.
Dirty, filthy, dusty and disgusting room!I had to use wipes all over the floor, which was covered with dust and dead moths. The lady checking people in was nice and friendly and that was the only good thing about the place. It was almost 90F outside and the air conditioning was so bad and dated that it never made our room cold enough.I do not recommend. It is convenient if you are visiting the Sequoia Park but try to get something else.
I could’ve even like it, if a cockroach didn’t try to sneak into my bed!! This is so so so BAD. The shower is quite weird - the stream goes into the wall, so you really have to try hard in order to wash yourself... But the cockroaches crawling in the bed beats any positive points this place might have.
The place is a dive. Looks nothing like they show on the website. The sink faucet moved around freely, the toilet seat also move around. The floor was filthy and made our feet black. Clearly it wasn’t cleaned at all. The breakfast was ridiculous and set up in a corner hard to get in and out if. It was worth maybe $50 a night. Shady work on the pool. We will never be back. Very dis appointed.
All most there....cause I heard it was a new owner. Mohammad. WiFi is very much better. A/C is good but only works by the bed. Not very circulating as good. Small TV but it’s okay it doesn’t it’s job. Fireplace (gotta ask before firing) and has a fire warning. Basically everything you do has directions. Beds are okay as well. Never saw anything until now. It has a bug investigation. I’m paranoid. But it will do!
Just 4 miles from Sequoia National Park entrance.Kind, helpful staff.Good matress and pillows. Freshly painted room.Nice view from balcony. Lush flowers.Winter rates a great value.Sliced breakfast oranges were delicious. Otherwise breakfast disappointing: instant oatmeal, mini-donuts or pastry coffee, tea.No desk. No hangers in closet.Dated but functional bathroom.Under renovation by new owners. Expect improvements.
The worst hotel I have stayed in and had to pay $350 for the pleasure. Room was not as described, had to buy water at breakfast and no drinks for kids. Just tea and coffee (which I threw away because it was disgusting).Shower had mildew, floor was dirty, kids were scared of the small room so that wasnt used. Avoid avoid avoid.
Not the best place but again... it is the mountains. I just wish they could renovate the place a bit. It’s long due for one. I also got the king deluxe room with a Mountain View... course I still haven’t seen it yet. You’ll see what I mean in the photos I’ve attached in this review...
If you are looking for luxury accomodations by the Sequioa National Park...you will NOT find them lol if you are an avid hiker on a budget, then you are at the right place. And this is why this place gets 5 stars from me. The building is a little throwback into the 70s with a lot of character. And cute murals. Some may call the room dated, but you know what? It is clean, it smells nice, it is unique, and you got everything you need. The bed is so comfy! TVs are preset with streaming services so you dont have to watch Forensic Files on repeat when you are done for the day. And once you open the huge sliding window...you can hear the river at night. A perfect place to relax and not deal with people. The guys who run the place are super friendly and will go above and beyond to help you. So keep an open mind and you will love it. Sierra Lodge is a perfect crash pad for your hiking trip to the Sequoias.
Nothing much but a questionably comfortable bed and a shower that is so low you have to be under 5 foot to use it. We have a few people and 4 rooms. The first was dingy and smelled like smoke. The one Im in had the ceiling leaking in 2 places- one over my head in bed. The bathroom floor was squishy even though its tile...which makes me wonder what nastiness is under it. The other rooms were ok but kinda kinda dirty. Microwaves were advertised but not in the rooms and for additional fees. Staff was very friendly but the place is just barely tolerable.
The worth room ever very noisy from the road ( Just like you are sleeping on the road) and dust and broken bed and mattresse. I took a King Room with balcony (But the there is no Balcony but the Stairs was the Balcony as y can see it)Disgusting chemical strong smell in the room and noisy AC. The cherry on the top is the 100$ price you pay tax included minimum to stay there. The staff are friendly but useless . Dont go there, take another hotel before the three river. As you can see on one of the pictures, there are craps furnitures on my Free Parking spot, kidding me.
Wonderful but spiral staircase to rooms A,B,C,D feel downright treacherous compared to other places Ive stayed. Make sure if your elderly or not currently employed as a trapeze artist, that you request other rooms. New owners are quickly improving the place and I wish them well.
This was the worst hotel/motel we have ever stayed in. The room was not just dated every piece of furniture looked like they picked it up on the side of the road. it was not clean and when we asked for a second cleaning, they still missed some very disgusting smelly grease in the tiny kitchen. There were ants, no electricity in the outlets in the bathroom, no lock on the patio sllding door, broken bed, broken coffee table, a futon bed that didnt even fold up properly. We could not have been more disappointed with the accommodations. If we could give this less than one star, we would.
Room was ok, although lots of broken things and a big lack of maintenance. If your gonna stay here you MUST KNOW that you will be isolated. The wifi network doesn’t work, although they say they have wifi it is the same as if they don´t because it NEVER worked during our three days stay. Also, you won’t have service so REALLY ISOLATED. The first day I asked at reception if there was another area at the hotel in which the wifi would work and they said everywhere would be the same and that it´s not their problem as the wifi signal is always like that in Three Rivers. However, obviously they have their own strong and working connection but not for guests. If you expect to disconnect from the world you´re gonna be fine, just know that you won´t even be able to communicate with anyone. Also, breakfast is only the table in this picture. No proteins, just two kinds of cereal, bread, jam and butter. No juices, just tea or coffee and if you want water you have to pay for it. My father is diabetic and I´m gluten intolerant so we couldn’t have breakfast at the hotel. Really disappointing and not at all as described.
Avoid. Loud, uncomfortable, heavily overpriced, rather disgusting place. Breakfast means industrial pastry + styrofoam cups (welcome diabetes and cancer) - is it really SO HARD to wash normal plates and cups for a few guests? Internet never worked for longer than a few seconds in a row all 3nighta we were there...I wish I had looked at the reviews before I booked this place. I rarely do as I have never come across something like this. All motels, including the cheapest ones always provided the basic standards. This doesnt meet any standards IMHO.
So we get to our room and there is a huge dead centipede like thing in the middle of the floor, spiderwebs between the night stand and wall, hair all over the the toilet & shower. We complained to management the next morning (we got in late) and they said they would have someone take care of it. We came back to the room the next night and the the condition was the same except now our comforter had a white stain near the head of the bed and our towels had been picked up from the floor and placed back on the shelves (we could tell because my wifes make-up was still on the towels). We told all of this to management and they seemed concerned but only offered us two sodas as compensation.
Quaint blast from the past lodge. Some really cool vintage lighting fixtures and pieces that must be original issue with the lodge. The rest of the furniture looks like it was purchased at a garage sale. The couch had one of those inexpensive covers over it. Clocks that dont work are used as art. More humorous than anything. It needs a serious makeover but then the rooms would be triple the price. Staff very friendly, pleasant and helpful. They worked non stop sweeping walls for spiderwebs and keeping the outside as clean as they could. Looks family run. The other negative reviews I read mentioning cleanliness are true. My husband dribble toothpaste on the floor and when he wiped it up the tissue was beyond filthy. Floor not mopped in a long, long time. We didnt let bare feet touch the floor. A curly black hair in the tub on arrival but have seen that at many an upscale hotel. They did scrub out our toilet each day. Bed linens were very clean and the bed was comfortable. A choice of pillows so we found 2 to our liking. When we arrived 2 glasses in the cupboard were wet. The outside had not been washed, evidenced by greasy finger prints and lip marks. We washed them then got the heebie jeebies and washed a different set for our drinks. We ate out and skipped the tiny 2 kitchen with 70s era efficiency stove. Didnt see that in any of the photos! hahaha The view from our balcony was fantastic. We watched deer and woodpeckers and the sunset over the mountain. No lock on the sliding door. Just a wood pole to wedge it shut. Creeped me out a bit. Outside table had sticky rings from a previous tenants beverages. Rubbermaid chairs not wiped down in ages. Powdered creamer for the coffee at their breakfast bar but I am a Star Bucks brat. I think the OJ was Tang. Very appropriate for the 60s feel of the place. They dont have room for much in the way of food so I was impressed with the fresh fruit. This place is not for the squeamish. It is definitely age worn and it shows. We did have fun and just laughed at the old stuff and loved & chose the place for the time warp but no excuse for lack of cleanliness in the rooms. We left a $5 house keeping tip instead of the $20 we usually leave.
The most disgusting place Ive ever stayed in, only one sheet to cover the shower curtains where dirty the worse place to stay toilet was gross spider webs in the ceiling I cant believe people dont say anything it was like 150 a night fir a disgusting place they should be ashamed of having such a dump like that.
Read the reviews on hotel booking sites and you will see the exact same complaints that I am listing now: I stayed on Sat Nov 28 the holiday weekend,. I entered a completely dirty room. Since all hotels were sold out due to the holiday the manager was able to place me into a room that was at least cleaner, but way below standards for any hotel for travelers. The walls were dirty, the bathroom door had a fist sized hole punched into it. The towels where stained and very old, the hot water handle was stripped and fell off, so I had to take a cold shower. This place should not be allowed to operate. I am a hiker used to dirt, easy and flexible, but the management shows blatant ineptitude in basic hospitality. The only reason why I even stayed, was the location. I needed to get to the park early the next morning. and it is not far at all.I posted two collage photos. The one with the Sierra Lodge sign was the first room, unclean. The other collage is the replacement room I was given.
I arrived without a previous booking and was sold a “suite” by the manager at the time of arrival. Spent 5 minutes in the so called “suite”. The room was so filthy it was not livable. We left. Manager, Mohammed Hossain, refused to refund money. Bad business. Do not go here.
I booked this as it was near to Sequoia and there is an Asian guy in reception so helpful and friendly... some how I didn’t like room as it was stinky smell with new paint or some construction work..Other wise bathroom was clean and liked there patio outside, BBQ grill, pool, breakfast
Came in late to check in room given away without contacting me , Jose ( i think he gave me a fake name) was rude and racist would not give me the managers name refused to help me even though i was charged. Jose gave me a b.s. story ,treated me like dirt and all with a smirk on his face do yourself a favor dont stay here under any circumstances especially if your African American. stay in visalia alot nicer and better people drove there explain my horrible experience to the hotel Marriott accommodated us and charge me less then the amount i was willing to pay for this dump!!! because it was 30 miles closer. i would never recommend anyone stay here
Well I wouldn’t say this is a bad place. BUT, there’s no hot water at all. Or wasn’t at least for the several morning hours I tried to get it. They didn’t bother to ask me how my stay was and/or if everything was ok. The breakfast is really just fake juice, coffee and some stale pastries or whatever. Also the WiFi doesn’t work that well. It’s is conveniently located, it’s not the only place around though. Next time I’ll definitely be trying another hotel in the area.
I wish I could choose not to give any stars. They were so very rude. I had booked my reservation and paid in advance $1073.60 for a room for my husband, myself, and our three children. After paying, the hotel contacted me and asked if I could switch to a room that 1 King bed and 1 Queen bed. I replied no because we have five people (my 8 yr old twins were going to share a bed) and we needed the Queen and 2 double beds that I already paid for. They stated they would have to charge me more money for the additional person. I agreed to pay the aditional fee. Then they stated I cannot have the room I booked due to fire code. This didnt make sense to me because they were offering me two beds instead of three. I again explained I already paid for the room and I would pay aditional fees if necessary. The clerk told me I need to book somewhere else. I asked her if they double booked the room. She cut me off and told me I would be happier going elsewhere. I asked to speak to the owner. She told me he was busy and unavailable. I asked for him call me later today. She hung up on me without even acknowledging my request. I called back and the owner stated he was fully aware of the situation. He wouldnt allow me to even review the events with him. He interjected stating my money will be refunded and I need to find other accommodations. With these type of business behaviors, its amazing they can keep their own beds, let alone have aditional rooms to rent. this is the worst I have been treated by any company, let alone somewhere I already spent over a $1000.
Avoid this place at all cost! They cancel your reservations last minute (literally 3hrs before we left) then lie and tell you your card was declined then lie again and say its because they actually overbooked and have no rooms. Trash trash trash service. Overall super shady, I WOULD NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!
On a family trip to Sequoia National Park (10/25/2014), we stayed at this hotel for one night. We opted for VIP accommodations ($229/night) which was advertised as including 2 bedrooms, wifi, free breakfast, cable etc. What we got:1) filthy smelly room - everything from the carpet to the restroom seemed to have not been cleaned in days.2) WIFI did not work, a tiny 22 flat panel tv on top of a coffe table3) A triangular-shaped room layout as bedroom-restroom-bedroom separated by paper thin wooden panels. Broken sliding wooden doors.4) All of the furniture seemed to have been procured at a cheap flea market. Old and stinky.5) The beds in the bedrooms were old and very uncomfortable. For hygienic reasons, we used our own blankets.6) Power and running water were out by midnight. We were told the next morning that they had experienced a power outage. The outage had been scheduled for at least a month, and we were not advised.7) I would not recommend this hotel.Update:I forgot to mention the bedbugs - next morning my wife noticed evidence of bedbugs bites on my forehead and I felt bites in my right leg.We could not wait to check out.
This simplistic lodge is not at all like how it is advertised. The nice pool overlooking the mountains is a small, filthy pool with things floating in it. There is literal dirt on the walls and in the bathroom. Cobwebs all over. There were tons of ants in our room and even on our pillows. Youd think that for 200 dollars a night they could dust the darn place. Disappointing.
Defective appliances, stains all over carpet and sheets, shower that doesnt drain. Politely asked owner to comp us for 50% of the night after the refrigerator malfunctioned and destroyed $100 of alcohol. He immediately started shouting at me and got up so close to me I thought he was going to hit me.From other reviews on here it sounds like he has a history of doing this. Stay clear of this place at all costs.

2022-02-16Rolled in one night, no reservation but they had a room available. Check in was quick and easy. Got an actual key to the room, old school I like it. Room was clean, bed was comfy, smart TV, towels soap all that jazz. I enjoyed my stay, right down the road from Sequoia NP. Seems to be a family run place as well. 10/10. Highly recommend.

2022-04-27You’re clearly paying for the location staying here !5 minute drive from the gate to the sequoia NP, lovely restaurants nearby! Very limited choice for breakfast !When we moved the curtains the pole fell off one side, this apparently is the ‘penthouse suite’ … far from. Given one star cause the beds are amazing ! Nothing else going for it really, a shame really as the surrounding area is amazing !

2022-02-20You will regret booking here. This place is worth $10 per night. We paid $170. I’ve never seen a more outdated room. The shower barely has any pressure - no way a female could wash their hair. Comforter had stains. Did not feel clean. We are actually.. in SHOCK this place is still in business. Save yourselves. Sleeping in your car will be cleaner.

2022-06-01This place is very outdated and very neglected. There hasnt been much maintenance over a long period of time. There was a very strong smell in our appartment and the kitchenware was too dirty to use. We selected this appartment for the kitchen, but ended up going out for dinner elsewhere. A couple of lights didnt work and we didnt dare to turn the airconditioner on because all the dirt that we saw in the blower (we didnt want to blow that around). The price is way to high for what you get (it was our most expensive but worst hotel). The hotel is very close to Sequoia NP.

2022-02-07Reception staff was 15 minutes late (she was on Break) and didnt even hang up on her call. So she was on the phone with someone the entire time she was checking us in. The room was dirty, ill mentained and smelled weirdly. We felt so uncomfortable, we left after 10 minutes. Of course we had to pay the full price. That was the worst Hotel/Motel I‘ve ever been to.

2022-06-04Horrible motel. Dont stay here❗. Three rivers is a lovely little village and situated near Sequoia NP. Therefore the motel is probably always fully (pre)booked. If only people (like me) would have (pre)read the reviews 😏, they would have booked another motel. Our room numbers were S3-the luxe suite. and S2-big room; we stayed there 2 nights. Here is our (negative) review:>Its smells like garbage in the rooms. The owner tried to mask the smell by opening all windows pre-arrival>The rooms are dirty. Our bare feet were black after walking on the floor for several minutes.> Cutlery was just plain dirty (no dishwasher)>The stove was dirty>The kitchenware was dirty (we planned to cook, but had to eat out)>There was no bbq, although advertised>There was no open hearth, although advertised>Swimming pool was not heated, although advertised>Swimming pool was dirty (bugs, leafs, stones, sand)>Pover breakfast (when its gone its gone)>Smelly reception>Lots of bugs outside>Noisy road>The room beneath us could see the bottom of our bath (Norman Bates vibes).>The room next to us was renovated from early in the morning untill late at night>The receptionist was a grumpy, smelly, smoking Pakistani that believed that the twin towers attack was a conspiracy.> Parking space is limited> Several lightbulbs were not functioning and after complaints not replaced> The stairs to the upper rooms are (to) small, dirty, rusty and dangerous> The (to) few towels had stains> The communal terrace (for breakfast, for example) was completely worn out. There was also a danger of tripping over splinters and rusty nails.> The smoke detector beeped over 48 hours (low battery). After complaints it was not replaced/fixed.> Theres Construction and demolition waste and regular garbage all over the terrain.> No toiletpaper present at arrival. After complaint we received 1 rol voor 2 days for 9 personsSo: DONT GO HERE

2022-05-12Very unwelcoming owner at the front desk. Extremely mediocre appartement. Doors wont close, hardly any water pressure and overall outdated and dusty inside. The Pool looked disgusting, didnt seem like they clean it regularly. After reading others experience about the filthyness of the beds, like bedbugs. I had to get obliteratedly drunk in order to sleep here without the fear of catching any diseases. Dont book here, youre beter off sleeping in your vehicle.

2022-05-12Positive: None except the location being near the Sequoia National Park. Negative: The hotel receptionist guy , was rude and dirty, can¿t even comb his hair and he smells. The room was dirty, I had to sanitize everything, the paint in the bathroom was peeling off and there were molds in the bathroom. This is the worst.

2022-05-29This hotel cancelled the afternoon of my stay without offering any options and without even calling me!!!. It was Memorial Day weekend!I never experienced a so poor customer services! Which kind of hotel does cancel the very same day putting a family with 2 young kids in a street during Memorial Day weekend.Do not go to this hotel, you can not trust them
