Let’s start with the positives. The staff is extremely nice. I like the type of pepperoni used in the pizzas.Onto the negatives. Wait time is long (about 1 hour). Pizza tastes mediocre. On the expensive side compared to most other pizza places. Our pizza was mega burnt but maybe it’s just one-off incident?

Moderately tasty, overpriced pizza with slow service. There are a lot better options than this place. We waited about 35 minutes for a single, large pepperoni pizza. Cost: $24.04. The pizza was edible, but Ive had better. Strangely, this place is only open Thursday to Sunday, from 4-9pm. Only take-out--no sit down service.

The best pizza in town! I’ve tried almost every flavor and they’re all good! My husband and I have made getting pizza from here a weekend ritual. The staff are so friendly and you can tell everything is made with quality ingredients and a lot of care. Give it a try, you won’t regret it! Our favorites are the Bobby Green and the Murph’s Green. They just added salads to the menu too, and the Pesto Caesar was so good!

Staff was nice and designs are cute... BUT we waited an hour a half for moderately pricey pizza THAT WAS VERY BURNT, all 3 of them. Which is interesting, because other reviews call it undercooked. The taste seems nice but it was hard to tell with the char on it. Sad because I really wanted it to be good since its so close to my place. Loved the staff but disappointed with the product.

Wow. so good, toppings were great without being overwhelming. the Kevin Lyman is the best cream based pizza Ive ever had. also had the limited run Wiseguy which delivered on the spicy warning, but definitely in a good way!

2 stars because the staff is always friendly. The pizza is fair but sometimes its weirdly undercooked. Worst thing was our experience tonight -waited 55 minutes for our pizzas AFTER we arrived to pick them up and they were underwhelming to say the least. Twice they said it would be another 15 minutes , and they would call when ready since we waited in the car. They never did naturally. Got a refund and will not be back. I think there are other local places with consistently better pizza.

Hi so i’ve had Side Pie severaltimes now we always place large orders for film shoots and quite frankly the first time i crunched into that insane cracker true Italian crust i was blown away! It is made the true italian way not thick and doughy you can taste allthe flavors. It is exceptional pizza 🍕 and always we get rave reviews when weorder it for large groups and our groups are picky people and they love it.

Cute funky place. Pizza was good, but not at all satisfying. Its *paper* thin, which isnt my favorite but the flavor was great. However, for $24+, I would expect to be full after splitting a pizza with my partner. But after eating, I felt like I hadnt eaten anything at all. We both woke up in the middle of the night because our stomachs were growling so much! We were so excited to finally try this place, so it was pretty disappointing. Wont be ordering again.

I would give 3.5 stars.I personally think this place was a bit overpriced for the taste, honestly I wasnt the biggest fan. They had interesting and exciting ideas for the pizzas but some of them honestly fell short and the dough wasnt my favorite. I do think their service is good and all but I wouldnt see myself going back here.

There are many good pizzas between the two ‘denas: Pizza of Venice, U Street, Luggage Room, etc. Although all formidable pie shops, a new contender has hopped to the top of this suburban pizza mountain.Started as a backyard pandemic popup, Side Pie has graduated to permanent status with a small selection of wine and beers you can sip at their parking lot as piazza dining area in the alley behind the restaurant. If you order online you do need to pick a time, so some forethought is needed. Its not really an on-demand experience, as walking up requires a wait. Some things are worth waiting for, and Side Pie is one of those things. You will be greeted by an enthusiastic staff in a cool hat, Baz Lurhmann R&J shirt, or maybe some Blink merch. You will want to buy some of the merch that combines hiker-stoner vibes with moving company design and mystical aesthetics. Get one pizza per person, which is way too much but you’ll want leftovers. Reheats great in minutes the next day in the oven. Grab the wine option or beers and enjoy your wait in the back as the staff fires pie after pie, building up your anticipation. Listen to the kitchen, turn on a heater and chill.I’ve had all their pizzas, and all are masterclasses. Definitely don’t skip pepperoni, they get the good kind and it redeems all your prior pepperoni disappointments. We waited a quick 45 sipping wine, which isn’t a critique; its nice to be slowed down to enjoy something. The pizza was eaten so fast I hardly remember as it puts you in a manic carnal euphoria, where dairy, gluten, sauce and pork meld into a addictive manna. Its thin and burnt on the bottom (as pizza should be). The different items actually share many elements, but you appreciate each of the different combinations. The ricotta on the pepperoni pizza plays a different role than on the Kevin Lymans pizza, a white pizza, which is one of the great dimensions of Italian food; ingredients driven, simple prep.I was a U street loyalist, and they still make great pizza, but fresh Side Pie is transcendental. Like the name says, it’s not your main pie, not your go-to weeknight warrior spot. It’s your Side Pie, the special one you look forward too that gives you something other pizzas just don’t have. For some people pizza is not that kind of food, but Side Pie might change your mind.
