Price gouging to the max. Ive been staying here for 7 years. They raised thier prices over the last year for a 2 bed to almost $700 a night. It used to be $495. I can get a beach front house on vrbo for what they charge for a old out-dated 2 bed 1 bath room. To bad they got greedy. I wont be staying here anymore.
I can still hear the loud golf carts in my head after departing over 12 hours ago….It’s called seascape beach resort. But It’s hardly a resort…Things to keep in mind if you decide to book-building 500 is where all the workers keep their golf carts, and they run non-stop, even at 12 midnight. So keeping the door open for the ocean breeze was ruined..-if you have children, please check with your host if your building is located near the adult pool. I know that isn’t advertised and many parents are disappointed to find that they can’t use the nearest pool-wear a wet suit to the pool, this was our BIGGEST complaint. The pool wasn’t heated and the weather here doesn’t allow for natural heating. Naturally, no one really uses the pool because it was freezing, which was a HUGE disappointment.-In addition, they don’t keep the pool area fully stocked with towels and it seems they don’t keep the hot tub clean…I still used it but could definitely tell.-they say it’s a 7min walk to the beach. More like 15-20MINUTES and it’s located on a cliff so you walk all the way down the hill and there isn’t bathrooms or towels. Just FYI. I wouldn’t mind as much if I didn’t have kids. Yes they have a service that will bring you back up. But basically it’s not really a “beach” resort.-lastly, the restaurant is not good…..Plus, there IS NOT coffee service inside the hotel lobby like they advertise. I asked the front desk and she simply said “we have no one working today” and everything was locked up. No real coffee bar anyways, just a actual bar with coffee…I just feel like people should know these small details before booking. Especially for the price they charge… resort prices for a sub-par stayAlso, everyone is just so oddly angry… who work there..or so it seems like they are un-happyI’m thinking this place used to be good back in the day, possibly…..
The rooms were spacious and quiet, and the location offers great access to the beach. Our 2 bedroom suite didnt offer any direct views of the ocean but was well equipped with a kitchen and amenities. Each bedroom had its own bathroom (one with just a shower and the other with a bathtub/shower) and were well separated from each other on the 2nd floor.Staff was always friendly and professional with plenty of activities to do around the area.
The landscaping and grounds were gorgeous. Loved having a free shuttle - wish wed been told about it when we checked in.The bonfire package was so fantastic and sweet. My only complaints were a very sketchy elevator, the coffee pot didnt match with the carafe or the type of grounds they provided, and the bathroom design. You had to open the door into the bathroom, squeeze between it and the shower (whose door ALSO opened into the bathroom) to close the door or get back to the room with the toilet. With two of us getting ready in there, it was hilarious and frustrating.Wonderful stay for the price.
A beautiful and relaxing getaway by the sea. My wife and I spent two nights here in early June. The weather was perfect, cool and foggy in the morning, warm and sunny in the afternoon. We spent a fair amount of time walking around the grounds of the resort admiring the clifftop views of the ocean, as well as strolling on the private beach. We were fortunate enough to get upgraded to a suite that had an ocean view, which meant we could look out over the ocean while having coffee on the balcony in the morning, and watch the sunset from the couch in the evening. Our suite had a full kitchen which is perfect for cooking some freshly caught local seafood. The area outside the resort was nice, albeit isolated. The neighborhood is mostly residential, with a small collection of stores within walking distance. However if that doesnt have what you need you will ha e to drive into Santa Cruz, which isnt far but frequently has traffic. If we were to stay here again we would plan on coming with enough provisions to not have to leave so that we can enjoy what Seascape has to offer without needing to leave. All in all our stay was wonderful and we would love to visit again.
Beautiful Views. Excellent Service. Great Room.My family spent the weekend at the Seascape Resort in the two bedroom villa partial ocean view.Pros:1. The service is amazing! From the front desk, people on the phones, people driving the carts and Jack R. & Nicholas working the bonfires, everyone was incredibly friendly.2. The bonfire experience was awesome! Dont miss out on this. You need to make reservations, but it was worth it!3. The room was spacious and clean. Definitely worth the price!4. So many beautiful views and great beach access. Love the walks on the beach!5. The location is amazing. The grounds are beautiful. Plenty of things to do. Played tennis, nice little shops walking distance, it was a great time!Cons:1. The resort itself is a bit dated. Even though the place is very clean and the space is beautiful, the resort building is a bit dated.Overall, dont miss out on this place and experience!
Easy to park, 48A Tesla charger a short walk from our room, I never noticed anyone else using it. Great views and a nice walk down stairs or a path to the beach. If you are carrying too many things to the beach, you can call for a golf cart as well.Only thing that wasnt great was old appliances in the room, but the countertops and tile floors seemed new and it all worked.
Honeymoon spot for a Covid Couple!Super lucky to be able to stay here and relax and unwind ❤ together.Very beautiful resort set on the bluffs above the ocean. Lovely Sunsets, excellent service, extremely well maintained grounds and golf cart rides wherever you need to go...especially up or down to the beach! Peaceful & Relaxing Hot tub as well as 3 pools .
Loved Seascape. Two bedroom/two bath villa with ocean view was spacious and perfect for us and our grandchildren. We had beautiful views from both the living room and main bedroom. Pools were warm, also enjoyed hot tubs and the beach. We had almost everything we needed in the kitchen. And washer and dryer too! Would be five star rating but at the south pool, there was no attendant and hot tub rules were not followed, large non-family groups in it together and they stayed in there an hour although others were waiting. Still, we loved it and will be back.
This resort was beautiful. All the staff was so helpful and accommodating. Dog, kid and family friendly. During covid, hot tub is closed at 6pm however the beach is a beautiful 5-10 minute walk or you can have staff pick you up to take you to the beach on a short golf cart ride. Theres an option to have a small gathering around a fire pit on the beach, 2 people for $150. On the resort grounds theres an option to use a gas fire pit for free. Cute shops near by. Over all, this was a great place to spend 4 days with my closest people.
Fun place very close to the beach with shopping across the street. Very quiet and peaceful, away from the busier areas like Santa Cruz and Capitola. Beautiful beach and trees surround the property and deer roam around freely. I saw lots of different species of birds as well, which also interested me. Pool was fun as well, but Im not a big fan of busy pool areas. Property seemed like a great safe place for kids, as it is far away from busier city areas as mentioned earlier. The kids I saw rode there bikes and scooters in the parking lot and paved paths of the property, they seemed to be really having a great time, Id say they were between 10-16 year olds, enjoying a little freedom. Id highly recommend for families, honey mooners, groups of friends, and wedding anniversary type of occasions, as the night life here is the beach and fire - and theres nothing wrong with that !
Very disappointing. Our room was not ready when we arrived. We were given a room that is the furthest away from the beach. From what I can see there is no way you can walk to the beach. You will need golf cart or car. Not convenient for food either. Rooms are outdated. Not what you see online. We don’t plan to come back.
Had lunch outside on a beautiful sunny day. A lady friend whod arrived early and was trying to get seated was largely ignored because she was alone. Sad. My wife and I joined her 20 minutes later. Server was nice, but my fish sandwich was utterly devoid of flavor, as was the salad and its dressing. Not sure what the chefs goal was on this dish. Texture and finish as well as presentation were excellent, but no flavor at all. A little lemon squeeze, or tarter sauce please!
Dont let the photos on the website fool you, the property is super dated. The room itself is comfortable and updated so thats a plus. Both restaurants were fully booked so we ate takeout in the room. Wish we had known we would need a reservation. They forgot our breakfast delivery this morning. Overall, sub par experience for the price.
This was our 2nd time here. Mid week this time and so quiet and peaceful! Owner unit thru AirBnB in great shape with a great view. The grounds are kept up very well and you can walk to anything you absolutely need. Otherwise, nothing is too far away in the car. Will be back and would recommend 👍
Beautiful hillside resort & trail to the ocean. Spent 3 nights in a suite. Quiet & comfortable. We requested a coffee maker each day. Bring your own as we never got one. The views were great & the gift shop was of excellent value. Love the periwinkle sweatshirt I purchased there. The restaurant evening meal was excellent & delicious. I would recommend tasting the food there. The sunset & the sound of the ocean was the icing on our time there.
Stayed at a VRBO with a private owner here. Resort amenities are available to renters, however, pool does not allow anyone under 18. Had that been advertised, I would not have chosen here. Otherwise it seems like a decent place. Just disappointed that there are few family activities without a pool or spa. The beach was glorious but too early in the season to enjoy a swim.
Great View! Beware of hidden fees that are not disclosed upfront. Housekeeping never came. All amenities you want book at time of booking or they are sold out. We could not even eat there unless we ordered to our room because they were sold out. Order was wrong and not that great. Walls are thin in rooms ; you could hear the person coughing in next room. Sometimes the service was not great because they were not nice.
Service was terrible! Stood at the hostess stand for at least a full 2 mins and neither hostess acknowledged my presence. When I finally got their attention they took us to our table. We asked for a different table about 10 feet away because there was a little more shade. We were told no because someone else will be sitting there later. The table wasnt reserved but apparently whoever else who had a reservation that night was more important than us. After we sat down someone asked if we wanted an umbrella for shade and we said yes. The individual didnt know how to adjust the umbrella and made it just an eyesore at our table providing no shade at all. By the time our server finally made it to our table he was in a big hurry. And while we waited for our server we actually had time to find another restaurant and called and made a reservation. The excuse given to us by the server is that they are understaffed. My response was yeah, everybody is these days and then we left. I had been eating there off and on for over 20 years but I will not be back.
I’m still crying about how badly my wedding went thanks to the venue. Couldn’t enjoy my wedding and I was so stressed out the whole time. They kept misgendering my wedding party, and they couldn’t even bother to do their job.Don’t use this venue as a wedding venue. They don’t give adequate time for set up, we told them months in advance that we were going to live stream the event and they made our set up time be DURING the first look. We didn’t have any audio sent to our livestream thanks to this because we had no time to test. They changed our table assignments without our permission, and they are not ADA compliant.I’m so angry about the whole thing. I can’t even talk about my wedding.Thanks. Thanks for a horrible wedding day.
This place is beautiful and a great choice to celebrate a special event. My son got married here and my experience was not only memorable but a awesome one. The scenery of the ocean breeze was breath taking. They have a amazing golf course my son enjoyed. The staff was so friendly and pleasant at all times. The shuttle to and from the beach to your car or hotel was also nice.
I only go to the restaurant. Never stayed at the resort. Ive lived in the area for 10 years. Always disappointed with something I order. As fancy and expensive it is. The food should be on point every time. The breakfast is horrible. How can you go wrong with breakfast??? I only go for drinks and appetizers for a night out since theyre close. Appetizers are decent. Nothing to brag about.
My wife and I stayed here for our 7 year wedding anniversary. I thought I had booked us a regular room. It turns out I actually booked a suite. The place was amazing. The staff was very polite and friendly. We took the golf cart ride down to the beach. They pick you up at your unit and its very easy to call for a pickup when you are done. We love this place and will be back. Thank you!
Such a beautiful place to stay, eat, attend a conference, or walk trails while passing through the area. Depending on the time of year and events going on parking could be difficult, but highly recommended to stay for an evening to enjoy the balcony, gas fireplace, and kitchenette within the room. Suggest paying close attention to the map as their are separate buildings and several are not joined and have their own elevators.
We stayed at Seascape during Thanksgiving week. Overall it was a great stay. Its a beautiful location, steps from the ocean, with spacious and clean accomodations, great outdoor fire pit, heated pool, and restaurant and bar. Unfortunately, our kitchen was infested with ants! We received an apology, and a $50 credit, from hotel services and they sent someone to take care of it. Later that night the ants were back. We didnt even have food in the villa to attract the ants. They were coming out of the stove, from behind the refrigerator, on the walls, everywhere. It was disgusting. I wont stay there again.
In a word AWESOME! Popped in for a drink at happy hour and was treated to one of the most glorious sunsets I have ever seen. The service was impeccable and their happy hour drinks prices were very reasonable. The view of the ocean (particularly at sunset) was amazing! This is now my go to happy hour drink spot.
Great resort! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our room was surprisingly large with 2 bedrooms, a full size kitchen and a nice living room and dinning area. The view from the balcony was s gorgeous, the beach was pleasant and so were the pool and hot tub. We were there for an end-of-school-year retreat and the catering for each event was on point.
Beautiful resort. Located right on the Beach. Nice large rooms. Very spacious! Has a huge jacuzzi tub inside of the room along with the fireplace another amenities. Theres a balcony area with a gas grill.. Balcony area is adjacent from the pond. Theres a walking trail, theres a restaurant on site and the beach is down below. Its absolutely beautiful here. Very serene.
Currently staying here and its definitely worth a visit beautiful views and terrific staff. My friend and I were walking the path down to the private beach access and a very nice young man named Ben gave us a ride and kept us entertained we are hoping things go well for mr Reynolds in the military soon. Overall a 10 out of 10 nice to be able to feel safe and relaxed in the current times. Will most definitely visit agian..
Such a beautiful location. We were lucky enough to still catch the nicest day weather. The resort staff was amazing. I stayed in a 1 bedroom and the accommodations were fantastic. Beautiful views, beautiful rooms, walking distance to great restaurants...who could ask for more.
I wanted to thank staff and most of all Afsana. We booked online and it automatically led us to a 3rd party company located in Turkey. They booked the wrong room and we paid full price. Afsana went out of her way to get us the room we need since our kids will be joining us this weekend. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the care and courtesy of your staff. Today is Good Friday and it definitely turned out to be a Good Friday! Thank you and see you tomorrow.
I absolutely loves this hotel a little pricey and noisey (room by the pool) but it was beautiful and the sunset was so gorgeous our next stay will be with our daughters so they can enjoy it as well or maybe another room but further away from poolside and with the jacuzzi tub would be awesome for the husband and I
My husband and I booked a spa suite here last week for two days. The room was very clean and as described on the website. The suite has all the standard amenities, as well as a mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer, etc. There is also a full size coffee maker, dishes, wine glasses, mugs and utensils. There is a resort fee, which covers the Wifi. Connection was good. Our room had a fire place which was great, especially with the cold weather during this time of the year. The spa bath was very nice. We were on the ground floor and outside our patio, we had a partial ocean view. My only complaint was that construction was being done in the suite above us. The workers would be laughing, hammering, yelling, etc at 7:00 in the morning. When my husband brought this to the attention of the staff, they were prompt with a resolution. The manager called us and gave us a partial refund, because the noise level and the fact we were put under a room being renovated was unacceptable. I was impressed by the professionalism of the hotel staff. I would NOT recommend the in suite dining. I left a whole different review for the restaurant that is on site. The in suite massages are decent. Its nice to be able to have in suite spa services. Overall, a nice resort. I would stay here again if I returned to the area.
Great place to relax and enjoy the ocean with the family. We had a quick stay in Villa 41 but really enjoyed our time there. Spacious and comfortable. The free shuttle is a nice touch for getting to the beach quickly. There are many activities you can do for a fee at the resort.Little pricey but not terrible for what you get.
Beautiful! We stayed in a two room full ocean view villa; perfect for our family of four. The entire suite had recently been updated: new flooring, kitchen remodel, bathroom upgrades. During our stay they were working on some of the suites near ours, but it never bothered us, we heard very little of the demo going on. The grounds are gorgeous & well maintained. The path that takes you down to the beach is a nice walk through nature, a bit long, but they do have a golf cart service for a quicker trip down & up. We have younger children that enjoyed the heated pool & spa each day & night! I highly recommend a stay at Seascape, I know we will be back!
I stayed overnight for a wedding. It was a beautiful venue! Our two bedroom suite had a gorgeous ocean view, and was mere minutes walk away from the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room service was reasonably priced and delicious. I would highly recommend this resort for a weekend getaway in the Santa Cruz area.
Decent view from my room its a suite so a separate bedroom and living area with a small kitchen,it has dishes and a dishwasher as well (pretty cool) I dont stay in hotels much... The restaurant has great food, and the staff has been great. Very nice to walk around and I havent done it yet but they will drive you to the beach in a golf cart!
Myself and two others had Christmas brunch 2019 reservations at Seascape Resort. The facilities are marvelous and the location is magnificent. However we found the brunch to be significantly overpriced so we opted for a plesant meal in their cafe, where the waitress was delightful. Not what we had expected or wanted, but the surroundings and the company made for a memorable Christmas meal.
Attended a wedding recently at Seascape. Beautiful location right off the ocean. Afternoon was in the low 70s so perfect weather for the occasion. Did not stay overnight so this review is only for the wedding, reception and dinner. Outside reception was very nice. Food and drinks were good and everyone seemed to enjoy this. Dinner was fine. The facility was not real fancy. More conference vibe than anything else. Food was generally good, but I think the prime rib was tougher than what i would have expected. Service was solid and the overall experience was positive.
I was looking forward to taking my son away for a change of scenery due to COVID.We have stayed at Seascape in the past and had a wonderful time. When I booked this time, there was no mention of the restricted pool hours. Pool was only open 11-5pm - we found out after we arrived, never was mentioned when I called for update on hot tub being open or not. Hard to utilize the pool when check-in is late afternoon and you need an appointment to use the pool. Check-out is 11am . . . we spent over $400 to spend the night in a different bed. I emailed the manager as a courtesy for them to be aware about notifying guests of the restrictions. Never heard back from her either. Totally disappointing . . .
The greatest escape is at Seascape. Whether you are on your honeymoon or need a break from the hustle and bustle of the Silicon Valley, Seascape is everything you would want. The restaurant is excellent and the prices are reasonable. The walk to the beach is a nice stroll, and if walking isnt your thing, a courtesy golf cart will pick you up in 2 minutes. The ocean is cold, but you can take a dip in the warmest pool around, or relax in the hot tub. The room was fantastic and had an amazing ocean view. An indoor fireplace only added to the romantic getaway. It felt like a home away from home. You can cook in the room, or take a short walk to the surrounding restaurants. There is shopping within walking distance as well. There is no better place to be than the spectacular cliffs of the Pacific Ocean. 5/5 stars, and highly recommended. We will definitely return for another excursion.
We stayed in a rental unit on the property and we had a wonderful experience! There were chargers for our electric cars, there was a pool and spa near our unit, the grounds were beautiful, and theres even a golf cart to take you to and from the beach. The food at the restaurant is delicious, although we just had it brought to us in the bar-- no wait that way! Overall, a great experience and well definitely be going back.
Very nice spot in Aptos. We stayed in a condo unit, north of the main resort building. It was comfortable, clean, simply furnished, and very spacious. Definitely worked for our multi family group, using both pull out couches and 2 beds in the bedrooms. The ocean views were great. Though are unit was further back and had a more limited view. The resort sits on a bluff overlooking the ocean and beach. Beach access was difficult for anyone with mobility challenges due to the long walk on steep trails and (on one path at the northern end of the resort) many stairs. The resort did offer excellent shuttle service between the beach and your room.Staff were friendly and generally helpful. Though 2 requests for towels went unanswered despite the front desk saying they would have them sent immediately. And, we called to confirm our unit and maid and towel service. But they never showed. We even notified housekeeping when we left the room late afternoon (hoping they would come while we were out. Nope. Had to call and beg for more towels when we got back and pile our full garbage outside the door.Overall, I thought the resort was a good spot for a short visit to the beach.
I went here for lunch to celebrate my grandparents February birthdays. The ocean view was breathtakingly beautiful. I would love to stay overnight someday. I thought the food was good, but I felt that it could have been a lot better. There was nothing wrong with the food, but I was expecting the quality to be a bit higher given the esthetic of the place.
Room was amazing!!! Great view, everything was working clean and set up new for us. Customer service was 10/10. Very helpful, held open the doors, greated us every second of the way, very clean and organized. Provided towels, pool access, kids friendly but no dog friendly for future tenants. Awesome place and awesome staff! Definitely would recommend to everyone I know and definitely would come back!
Amazing place feel like I can leave my doors unlocked and nobody would steal love the atmosphere and how each person 32 in awhile by. The views and atmosphere is ugly beautiful a small walk down the hillside would you can also get rides up-and-down from the resort if you dont feel like walking need you down to a fully large and open beach complementary fireplaces are scattered amongst the openings but besides that just one being open area of fresh sand when no broken bottles are trash will taking care of loved in every single day even when the skies are Gray.
Had a wonderful birthday dinner celebration here with my immediate family. The wait staff were excellent. The food was delicious as well.I opted for the New York steak which was the special that was featured that particular evening. It was cooked to perfection and Sanderlings even provided us with a complimentary dessert of our choosing as a birthday gesture. We will definitely return soon to the Resort to experience the phenominal panoramic ocean views, the eloquent but comfortable ambience, and to fill our bellies as we continue to explore the menu a bit more. Thanks againJonathan Smith
One of the best seaside resorts in Northern California by far. The views are amazing and the staff is always friendly. This is a great place for an anniversary or just for a romantic getaway. Sit on the balcony and enjoy some champagne or a good coastal wine. And of course, breakfast in the restaurant is a must!
A very nice resort right on the beach, with hotel rooms and private style bungalows out further south, some with spa tubs in the middle of the room, and a patio, and separate bathroom. The restaurant serves a nice brunch on Sundays, and there are trails all along the cliffs. A very nice place to stay, and/or have an event. Close to the golf course as well.
What a magnificent resort! It almost feels as though you just escaped to your own private and secluded oasis! The serenity that one feels amongst numerous lush and majestic redwood trees is truly indescribable; the crisp air and ocean breeze envelops one as you roam the regal resort......truly, this bucolic cathedral is unsurpassed!!!
Starting to lose its quality. Last few times i have gone in for a cocktail, it has been full of drunk young people. Thats great for the local pub, but definitely not how I like to enjoy my 10 dollar cocktail. It used to be a nice and relaxing place to enjoy conversation
Went to a wedding on the resorts bluff overlooking the ocean. It was beautiful! The resort common areas (restaurant, lobby) seemed nice with a seaside relaxed vibe. Not sure how the rooms were since I didnt stay overnight there. But great experience overall as a wedding guest.
Stayed there in 2013 for a conference and the facilities were excellent, the staff was great, the support staff for the conference provided everything the sponsor needed and the catered food was fresh, tasty, hot with great presentation. The grounds are pretty with good walking paths down to the ocean and the views are gorgeous.
I was here for a 3 day meeting. The rooms were good - I shared a 2 bedroom suite with kitchen. Nice views from the room as well as most of the resort. Great sunsets. A short few minute walk to the beach which is very clean & is not overloaded with people. The service during our meeting was good, but they could do better with vegetarian food. I have lives in the San Francisco area for 13 years, & did not know about this area - it is very nice to explore this part of the California coast & the small communities around here. Seascape is a nice place to stay or have a wedding. Too bad I could not experience their facilities.
As much as some employees have been lovely, I have to leave a 1 because of their policies and blatant disregard for safety during the pandemic. My parents, both in their late 70s and thus high risk have been placed there while their home is repaired from the fires. On multiple occassions we have run into issues with them trying to unnecessarily move my parents because they are not up to speed on current Santa Cruz County mandates. When they were put in their current room we - me, my parents and the insurance company - made them confirm that they would not be moved again before the end of their stay. Low and behold, a week and a half after that confirmation amidst a HUGE spike in the pandemic, they were just notified they will be moved again this weekend, meaning several bell men who interact with hundreds of guests and are not tested regularly will be in their apartment(s), handling all of their possessions (my parents have health problems that prevent them from being able to move themselves) - all this because the owner of the unit theyre in changed his mind and wants to stay there this weekend and is not willing to stay in a vacant unit. I now have spent all day on the phone with Health & Human Services, who cannot BELIEVE the hotel is doing something that puts them at such unnecessary risk. They are also now considering adding a new mandate to cover situations like this because they had thought that properties would be smart enough to not make decisions like this, but clearly they are not.
Big improvement over last year. We attend an office holiday party here every year. The last couple years were really disappointing but this year was a lot better. I cant speak to the appetizers, but once we sat down I was pleasantly surprised. The dinner salad was very good, better than most that Ive had, it even included artichoke hearts which was a nice bonus. The rolls and breadsticks that were served to the table were tasty, especially the breadsticks. Being a picky vegetarian I had had to customize their only vegetarian option and they were very accommodating and the result was surprisingly good. Dessert was also good. Service was great! Overall, I would recommend for a casual business dinner.
I wish I could submit separate reviews for each department. Im glad I was able to submit a separate review for Sanderlings. So here are our June 21-23rd weekend wedding ceremony, dinners and hotel stay reviews: 1-5Checking in (Jazz) = 5stars(Fast and super friendly)Room condition = 3stars(very outdated for the $$$$ not cleaned well)Saturday reception = 5stars+++(food & service were outstanding)House keeping both days =-0 stars. How does a resort with such great food, great views, great restaurant and check in service have such horrible housekeeping workers and outdated rooms? The housekeeping shows up @4:40pm on Sat as Im getting ready for the reception @ 6pm. On Sunday, after brunch, we saw one housekeeper leaving our unit without any cleaning equipments and alone-seemed very suspicious. Non of them spoke english, they just shrugged when I try to ask why theyre so late to clean on Sat and the reason to enter our room w/o cleaning on Sunday.Seascape management, you really need to update your outdated rooms to match your $$$$ tag. Regroup your housekeeping staff, your current housekeeping staff can not get any worse.
Great place to eat and drink -or- stay if you can! Attended a wedding here and thought I was in the islands somewhere. The beach bluff wedding venue is priceless. Rented a unit with friends for a weekend reunion and had a wonderful time in the resort and on the beach. Endless walking..whales and dolphins even visit!
Great vacation spot on a very nice resort property. Good food and drinks, not too expensive either. The staff is wonderful, all very friendly and eager to help out. They have these awesome packages that you can buy and they set up your day for you, make sure to check out the one with the bonfires for the beach.
Magestic gem. Gorgeous landscaping and well maintained. Staff is great friendly and helpful. Only negative we in countered was other guests but staff was on it, doing their best to correct their behavior best they could. Wildlife, deers, roaming outside in the morning hours makes you feel even more in awe. The walk down to the beach is stroller friendly and beach well kept. With burn pits for fires on the beach and a landing with benches to clean sand off feet, they cover just about everything you can want.
Great location and amenities. The golf cart from the beach are nice as well. Id like to see more than one J1772 level 2 charger for electric vehicles. There is a tesla charger in each garage, but only one other charger for the whole resort. Also, the restaurant is delicious, but Id like to see more effort for local and sustainable fish offerings such as sand dabs.
I didnt stay at Seascape, but I attended a wedding and had brunch there the next day. Places like this frustrate me because theyre so expensive but arent actually that great. Its all because theyre located on the beach. The brunch was good, but overpriced for what it was. The wedding was beautiful and very fun though.
Our favourite place to stay in the Santa Cruz area! It has a nice restaurant, swimming pools, private access to beach and ocean views, and a small shopping centre across the street with a grocery store covering all your basic needs and a great Mexican restaurant. The golf cart chauffeur service to and from the beach access point is a great perk. They will even set up a campfire for you and give you all the supplies for s’mores.
Went to Sanderlings for lunch too cerebrate my grandpas 84th birthday. The lobby was clean and welcoming, and perfect for waiting for everyone to get there. The service staff were outstanding and far exceeded my expectations, particularly in patience and consideration for the handful of children in our party. The view was beautiful even though it was expected to rain. It was simply a perfect gathering.
This place was awesome until our last day. My mother in law was sunning by the pool with her budlight bought from the bar and some employee interrupted her and checked her metal beer can to insure it was metal. So rude and inconsiderate. But the rest of the trip was pretty greatwas great
We enjoyed our stay.Things we liked:Golf carts take you all over the property (they are really fun when youve had a little wine haha).Big room, lots of space and a kitchen.Room service.A playground right in the back of our room(we brought our child). The beach is nice and we had smores on the beach, yum! They sent me back the things I left- thank you!One thing I would change is it needs some major updating. You feel like you have stepped into the early 90s.
Great restaurant and great viewsThe room itself is just an updated veneer that make for great online sales pictures. The bed and couch were old and really squeaky. Pocket door where the toilet is in the bathroom is extremely difficult to open and close and the bathroom fan is really loud. They definitely should have spent a little bit more money updating the place. Student drffThe room service menu is outdated and does not match what they actually serve. The front desk called a taxi for me. The taxi company they work with sent an old van that had check engine light on, brake light on, ABS light on and worst of all it would Shake like its going to fall apart above 35 miles an hour.Definitely not a $650 per night room.
This is an excellent beach resort! Private access to the beach via paved trail, and they offer rides via cart. Theres fire rings on the sand and theyll provide fixings for smores. The rooms are spacious with all the amenities of home, including gas-fired fireplaces. The restaurant & bar serves a small menu, but very tasty food. Add to all this three separate pools & hot tubs easily accessed from your suite, and this makes for a great family friendly place to vacation.
3.5 stars really. Spent two nights in a premium ocean-facing villa. The pros - location is great, there are shops nearby, beach access is easy - the hotel has a free shuttle service to the beach, area is safe and quiet, no noise in general and especially at night time. The condo was comfortable, kitchen was well-stocked, though a few essentials like kitchen towels, a pair of scissors, dish drying mat etc could have been provided. The views from the condo were amazing - ocean front almost, and I saw dolphins in the water. The master bedroom had great views as well; I enjoyed the two patios - one off the living room and one off the master bedroom. The gas fireplace was a nice touch. Room service was good - good food, prompt, friendly service. The cons- the condo was immaculately clean, but dated. The kitchen appliances need to be replaced and the walls could do with a fresh coat of paint. Wallpaper was peeling off in one of the bathrooms. The mattresses could be changed. Everything was pale cream or a very dull, tired, blue, which lent a dreary look to the condo. That said, there are renovations being done and there will be around 72 renovated units available after April 2018. I also feel that the booking process could be improved upon. For $500 a night, I expect to see a map of the area, along with the exact location of the condo or unit on the map that Id like to reserve, with pictures of the villa. There are three generic pictures for all the categories of the villas - deluxe, premium and partial ocean facing which isnt helpful at all. I am hopeful that they will revamp their website and include accurate photos of each unit. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay, but there was a lot left to be desired.
Weve been coming here for years and the service has been going downhill each time. This last visit this weekend will be our last. We were with a group of people that stayed in Capitola. I talked the people we were with into staying at Seascape. We got there at 3:45 and our room wasnt ready. We went to the bar to wait and the waiter asked if we wanted to charge it to our room. We said yes, but we did not have a room number yet. The waiter gives us a form to fill out. Next thing you know we get a call from the front desk and he actually yells at my friend saying how could she charge the drinks to the room when we dont have a room. By now it is well past check-in time. Then he proceeds to tell her our room is no longer available. ( By the way we made our reservations in April and they had no problem keeping our deposit all that time). We had asked for a Deluxe Ocean View with grass area in front. We ended up with an Ocean View (sort of). They tried to tell us they found mouse droppings so could not rent our room out. They also would not show us the empty suite. They reduced the price, but the room we got was worth a lot less so of course it should be reduced. They also said they would credit us $100 at the restaurant, but that did not happen. I spoke to the front desk, but I could tell it would never happen so just settled it with letting them know I will not return and will never again recommend Seascape. I actually could go on if I had the time, but will end here.
My family went to the seascape resort restaurant to celebrate new year, but our waiter informed us that there were many items and sides that they didnt have. This obviously didnt please us and the food was very mediocre and took a long time to come out. I ordered the burger, which was unsatisfying.
Paid for a ocean view spa suite and we got a suite with a view of the playground. Fan in the room did not work. I usually dont care about these things but when you are paying $500+ a night... I guess it kinda matters. Parking spots are really tight. I had to squeeze my vehicle at the lobby parking and squeeze my pregnant belly between 2 cars so I could get out. Not quite the experience I expected for the price. But it was a nice stay close to the ocean...
Located in the small seaside town of Aptos, CA, the Seascape Beach Resort turned out to be an awesome place for a weekend getaway. The views are amazing and the amenities were excellent. I found the staff to be very polite and super helpful, especially when we did the beach bonfire (which I strongly recommend booking in advance). The room rates are a bit pricey, but well worth it.
Staff was wonderful attention when needed was prompt. The Only Exception was that for such a nice place will woken up at 8 a.m. by a Construction Company doing demolition in the Next Room. We were woken up the demo and contacted the front desk and all they said was Im sorry. We ended up just packing and leaving so early instead of staying for breakfast. Most likely Ill never stay there again.
Great spot, with direct access to the beach and stunning views of the coastline. The hotel is clean and the food is great. I spend there a week at a working meeting and it all went smooth so Id recommend the place. The only downside for me is that the internet is sketchy apart from the main building and I didnt get got signal for making calls.
4 adults stayed from 24-26 Sept 2016 in a 2 bed apartment. Clean & tidy on arrival. Everything we needed for the weekend was in the apartment. Pool & hot tub were clean. Towels available for use at the pool side. Good view of the sea from our apartment. A 10 minute walk to the sandy beach. Stayed at no.12.
My new wife and I just returned from our wedding at Seascape Beach Resort, and we were extremely pleased with the quality of attentiveness and service the staff showed up. It was an amazing, hassle-free experience. Even the small touches were wonderful, such as the newlywed gift package waiting for us in our room after the reception.I would not hesitate to highly recommend the resort for couples looking for a beach wedding.
If youre staying in Aptos, Seascape is really the absolute best place to stay. Even though some of the rooms are a little dated looking and could use a remodel, the service here is excellent and the amenities are superb. The villas with full ocean views are just spectacular and you are right there on the bluff by the beach. There is access to the workout club and tennis courts along with pickleball, and of course the beach. Love the fact that they pick you up in a golf cart and take you down to the beach.
The property, location, and bar were amazing. BUT... The kitchen was under renovation, but their website did not let us know ahead of time. The bed was made with three top sheets and a comforter. It was weird. The kitchen in our room had food on the silverware. The heater was sooooo loud. The sliding door to the balcony just grinded metal on metal. The matress was really bad, and caused a back problem after two nights. The room needs updating, and I dont usually care about this kind of stuff. It feels like they can get so much business, especially in the warm parts of the year, that they dont need to bother with updating the rooms. Could be a really great place. Go for the bar and sunsets. Get a room somewhere else.
After reading reviews we booked the place, however on arrival the front desk staff were rude, and trying to put us in a room without ocean view even though we had booked and paid for an ocean view room. Then placed us in a room near their service entrance. Customer Service at their restaurant Sanderlings was non-existent. Breakfast took 2 hours. Foot showers outside the pool did not work. Outdoor Jacuzzi was dirty with grime stuck at the bottom.
Aesthetically, the resort is pretty nice. Its got a late 70s-early 80s interior decor going on, which I quite like. The suites are also nice and spacious, and the kitchens have all the utensils you need. However, it loses big points in my book for the abysmal in-suite WiFi. The speed is capped at 6 Mbps down, which would be bad enough, but once you get more than two people trying to use it at the same time, it just stops routing traffic to the Internet every few minutes. We had 5+ people in our suite, and it was next to impossible to use the WiFi.
My worst experience ever with hotel management!I took my family of eight to this resort, hoping for a great weekend getaway. I paid for a 2 bedroom ocean front deluxe room. Before booking I called to discuss my online booking decision. I wanted to know what the difference was between a deluxe 2 bedroom and a non deluxe 2 bedroom. I was told that the deluxe 2 bedroom came with 2 sofa pullouts and the non deluxe had only one. I booked the deluxe since we are a party of 8. We arrived at about 11 pm and checked into our room. When we got into the room we found we had only 1 sofa pull out which was alarming since I already got clarification of my booking status. So I thought no big deal I will just call down and get this resolved. Called the front desk and talked to manager on duty to explained the issue. She apologized and told me she has absolutely no power and couldnt change our reservation or she would be in trouble with her superiors. I explained are party size exceeds the reservation and we had no room to sleep in a bed. she continued with the fact that she had no power and explained she did not have the authority to help me. My wife called back and told her to call the manger at home and get this issue resolved. She said the best she can do is bring up extra blankets so we would be comfortable on the floor and we hopefully could handle this in the morning. In the morning the manger did switch our room but had the nerve to tell us she was doing us a favor. And we lost our ocean front view.
Clearly a minority view, but I found it overpriced and unspectacular. I dont think Im the resort type though, so I found it isolated, limited amenities, no A/C (nightmarish), tortuously slow internet, and considering the beauty of this region, this particular slice of coast is comparatively meh!You can do so much better, for much less.
Seascape Beach Resort is a 45 minutes from San Jose, but feels worlds away. To be fair, the Bay Area is surrounded by world class beaches in cities with world class charm. The resort itself has undergone recent renovations and most rooms include a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. The restaurant and bar are typical for a beach resort. What impressed our party was the knowledgeable staff. We asked questions about the menu and drinks and the helpful responses were matched by attentive service. The hotel is a great place to recharge or explore the Coastal Sierras, kayak Santa Cruz Bay, or take a drive down 17 mile drive.Highly recommend the resort as a getaway for Bay Area natives or those looking for a refreshing stay in the California Redwoods.
Seascape resort is located in the beautiful seaside town of Aptos near Santa Cruz. I stayed there for 2 nights during mid-October. The resort grounds are large and expand over 5 large buildings. The lobby is smaller for such a large resort, but is adjacent to a smal gift shop, bar and restaurant. Above the lobby in the second and third floors are several conference rooms and a large enough venue for weddings. The pool was really tiny, but you had a path from the Seascape resort that brought you down to the beach. The The room I stayed in was a dual suite in the corner of the 400s building. It gave a beautiful view of the ocean and pool. The room was located on the second floor and itself was 2 floors. The bottom floor was a half bath, kitchen, and spacious living room with a dining table. The bedroom suites were upstairs and each had their own full bathrooms, 1 with shower other with shower bath combo. While the rooms were a little older they were clean and comfortable. We had plenty of towels and toiletries available. The only real problem we had was spotty wifi throughout. Overall I would stay here again. The resort offers several amenities including golf cart shuttle service throughout the grounds. The staff are all courteous and helpful. There is plenty of parking throughout including a n EV charging station closet to the lobby.
My friends and I really had a great time here. It is luxurious without being so intimidating. The staff are all friendly, and happy to serve. It doesnt feel that their just doing there job, it feels more of like friends taking you around town. All the units/rooms have a fair amount of view of the sea. The beach is not crowded and they offer firepits by the shore with pizzas and smores and chairs! I just hope that they also serve at least wine at the beach. It is also the perfect spot to catch the golden hour of the sunset. Oh and they also host beautiful weddings! But if youre looking for some downtown/retail action theres not much to see in the area as it is surrounded by residential beach houses pretty much. Im sorry, my phone battery died
Great location, very helpful/accommodating staff, good floor plans, affordable--fun, on-site night beach fire/smores and professional in-room massage offered as well for additional fee. They also have access to their fitness club across the street, and package rates that include golf at their course down the road.
1) no A/C in May, which wouldnt be a problem if the adjacent empty rooms werent on high heat - thats all we can think is causing our room to be so hot, and our thermostat keeps jumping to 89 without us touching it. (says A/C in the amenities)2) Water dripping from tub faucet next to the bed3) Light switch in bathroom not working4) screen door doesnt slide well at all5) ceiling fan dusty/dirty and cant reach the short pull string to change speeds6) light bulb out7) message light on phone wont go off8) tiles falling off in the bathroom sink vanityAs you can see, nothing bad, but for $300+ a night for 3 nights, its worth trying somewhere else. The beach access was very nice, pool and hot tub were clean, but this place, as others have said, is in need of a remodel/update. On a positive note, it was very, very quiet until about 0800 every day. Got good sleep. Not sure why their Google Maps title is in Russian/Cyrillic? Front desk staff was very nice. Probably wouldnt stay here again but it wasnt terrible.
There is no concept of service. Just a low priced apartment community is how I would prepare one self. The housekeeping is unresponsive , non existent. Any semblance of service is the one and only restaurant , which is also limited. Come here only if you’d like to bring your own kitchen and cook yourself.
Staying in here was a breeze. Nice clean units, good sound proofing (which is rare), fully furnished and functional kitchen, stunning views and access to both beach AND pool areas private to the unit, protected with gates that are opened with resort keycards. Only thing you should know is that there is practically no cell service at that location, which is the only thing out of resorts power, therefore a star off for location purposes.
Rooms severely outdated. Overpriced and ocean view rooms should be called rooms with a far off view of the ocean. Not sure where the good reviews are coming from. We booked two nights and cancelled the 2nd night and offered to leave the first night but they said they would have to resell. When I called to cancel, I told the women that the room was depressing and she said yeah and continued to tell me it was the lay out of my overpriced room. They had a wedding and was booked up apparently. I could hear that wedding late into the night as the bar/restaurant let out. I heard more golf carts out my overpriced patio door then ocean waves. We slept in the pullout bed so we could at least enjoy some ocean sounds late into the night. This place should not be charging more then 200 a night.
We went to lunch at Sanderlings Restaurant. My girlfriend and I say at the bar and got the most professionally courteous treatment. Max, Tristen, and Lindsay were spot on with their recommendations in cocktails and food. A path leads right to the beach by the outdoor patio of the restaurant. Parking is easily available. Front desk and concierge are very friendly and helpful. It is truly a wonderful place; a pleasant mini-getaway. We wish to stay a night during a summer weekend to update this review with accommodations info.
Seascape needs some major upgrades. The grounds are nice, but the rooms are old, dirty, and have not changed in 15 years. The food used to be good and our kids loved the chicken strips and fries from Sanderlings Restaurant in the blue buckets. Now they serve frozen thin chicken nuggets that are worse than McDonalds served in a Styrofoam box. We had to move rooms because the room was so bad only to find that the second room we went to had all the same problems. We talked to the manager about how disappointed we were with our stay and she didnt seem to care much. The only way this is a 5 star resort is if it is out of a rating of 50 stars. Save yourself a headache and a lot of money and go somewhere else.
The rooms are filthy. I was cleaning my room late at night with the door propped open after I checked in and management called police. I was arrested for vandalism because I was using a bleach based cleaner that made the room ‘smell’.Management runs this place like nazis. Don’t check in here unless you plan to toe the line and live in disgusting filth.
We have been coming here for years very disappointed in the long wait for the room, they said they would call when ready but never got a call went and checked several times. When we got our room not very tidy. We had lunch there and one side of the table was served and finished before the other side even got there meal. Granted 50 people but not acceptable to wait more than an hour to get bread. Than another hour to get the meal.
This is definitely a place to go when you want to kick back, relax and sip a couple of drinks by the ocean with the majestic sun setting with the beauty of a rising Phoenix. Overall, the experience is wonderful. They have great rooms with all the standard commodities, multiple pools for fun dips (as well as the relaxing jacuzzi), bonfire location for latenight, outdoor smores, and just the best customer service one can ask for. The only miss is the smallish tv with limited inputs. But in honest, who goes to a place like this for tv when you can be out, eating cake by the ocean.
Didnt stay there went to see a friend but wow the room was beautiful had a view of the ocean a patio with BBQ grill , table and chairs rooms was huge has wet bar cabinet CD player with remote nice big tub for two with mirrors next to the bed towels and amenities are the best Ive ever seen at a hotel very clean and cozy great parking if the rest of the hotel is as nice as the room (more then sure it is ) its more the worth the drive and money I will be going back to enjoy this amazing property for myself
Getting to Seascape Resort was an easy drive along Californias Hwy 1. The King Studio with Oceanview was very spacious with a nice peek-a-boo view of the beach. The private beach path was easy to navigate but there is a shuttle provided by the resort. You are greeted by a beautiful sunset as you walk along the long stretch of beach.

2022-04-22The location is spectacular with many trails and beach access. Its simply a beautiful spot and the facilities are nestled in the middle of it all. During our visit, there was a lot of maintenance going on with a lot of exterior structural and siding repairs. The maintenance didnt bother us but it was very present with dozens of ladders and workers across the units. The staff are friendly but we did have an issue with them forgetting to pick us up for a reservation we had set with them for an on-site service. They simply forgot about us until we called them fifteen minutes after the pick up time they provided. They corrected it promptly. I definitely recommend the resort but perhaps at a time when they dont have so much construction going on.

2022-04-20We all had a wonderful time as our rooms were near the pool and just a short walk to the beautiful beach. The grounds were very nice & clean and there are plenty of nice restaurants and shops all within walking distance to the resort. We cant wait to come back here again!

2022-05-06An amazing and relaxing mini getaway for the entire family. Beach is little walk away but they have free shuttles there and back right out of your room. Very family friendly and if youre not in the mood for fancy dining - there is a bunch of sandwich shops 2 Mins away including a fantastic coffee shop.

2022-04-29The rooms are large with 2 storey 2 bedroom, pull out couch in the living room and balconies in both the living and bedrooms with 2 and a half baths. Room service is not daily, coffee and tea are in the kitchen top cupboards. Older property with most balconies overlooking the ocean. Small swimming pool and a restaurant and bar. Our organized lunches and bf seemed like catered in and very mediocre quality. Ask for Dan by the bar. There is a south point coffee shop close by in the village but closes at 1 pm

2022-03-31This location was beautiful and secluded enough that there were no intense crowds for photo op intentions. The staff was accommodating and pleasant. The food was delicious and filling. Definitely a place to visit and hopefully stay for a while.

2022-05-31This was such a great place with a fantastic view, easy access to the beach and awesome bar outside. The pool seemed pretty good, not necessarily extremely big but nice enough.

2022-03-18I don’t do reviews and I don’t always trust reviews. But I feel compelled to tell my story. I booked a two bedroom villa and the first night we got there I was told there were no such thing as an extra sofa sleepers but yet it was advertised when I booked the room. When we opened the food our couch in the room there was a nasty used tissue in it. It was disgusting. Then when we checked out I had forgotten my phone and I of course excepted quality care and honesty. When I told you my phone was stole by a housekeeper. Then when I called I was told i’d be called back. That was not the case. I had to call over 7 times regarding my phone. The care and customer attention is unacceptable. Im more appalled that my phone was stolen. The hotel did not bother to como some of my stay or all of it. This was a major inconvenience. If I was asked to recommend my answer would be a strong no. I would give proof and reasons too. I do not believe that this resort has the customers interest and that saddens me that this experience has happened to me. I hope it never happens to anyone else. Im dissatisfied with my service and I am more upset that nobody took the stealing of my personal property seriously.

2022-06-22Walls are extremely thin and I heard the person in the next suite snore all night long. I stayed in Room #216. The electrical plug in the bathroom did not work. The makeup mirror did not illuminate. The television in the front room did not work. There was no blow dryer to use and there was no trash can.Management should concentrate on providing a better resort experience for their customers including implementing a quality control check by housekeeping and maintenance. Seascape Beach Resort is pricey, and for me definitely not worth the money. Customers deserve better!

2022-06-19The restaurant and bar are garbage! Do not waste your money. Head down to the cute little shopping area across the street for coffee and breakfast foods and to the Mexican restaurant for dinner!!
