Do not buy a bicycle from Rodriguez bicycle stand. He only sells bicycles because he has a hustle and this is what it is; he takes all of the expensive name brand parts off of the bikes and puts cheap ones on and sells them for almost what theyre worth new and then sells the parts on the side.
There are thousands of visitors everyday per weekend, for that many people the flea market should have ample restrooms. The current facilities are not sufficient in number, and they are outdated and unsanitary. The stench in the mens restroom is near overwhelming. At one point there were several (3) outhouses placed throughout the market. These were horrific and dreadfully unsanitary, on occasion human waste pools outside its entrance. These were finally removed, but should have been replaced with newer sanitary facilities.I assume the flea market makes a reasonable amount of money from its customers and sellers, not to mention the drive in movie goers, that new restroom facilities should not be unreasonable. The bottom line is: the restrooms are outdated and unsanitary.Sellers have a vast variety of things to purchass.
Free parking is nice. Not as well organized as the Berryessa version, but may be best bet in town after that closes for planned development.Perhaps since is cheap to get in the quality of vendors is uneven. Many vendors pile up items they picked up at thrift stores, many with labels.Did find a few good items, so for patient buyer there are some good deals. Come early though. By 2 pm everyone had packed up for the day.
Since the pandemic the flea market has less sellers and more buyers. I bought 3 Bavarian beer steins for 30 dollars. I went there shopping for vegetables. Masks are required to enter. I found sellers were more than willing to barter on prices. And giving discounts for quantity purchases. Spacing is also required.
The last time I went to a flea market was in 1998 because a friend from Canada heard of the great BBQ chicken that was sold at the San Jose Flea Market at BerryessaThis time I went to the one at the Capitol Expressway drive in movie theatre with a friend who loves the place. I loved the stores and the friendly vendors. Parking might be a challenge but with patience one can be found. Looking forward to more trips there
Good flea market if you’re looking for more cheap used items.you can find almost anything here including vintage items. Also lots of good fruit and vegetables. But beware of buying used electronics.Vendors will say its in good working condition and ask a “cheap” price around 30-50 for an iPad or phone.once you take it home it will not turn on at all and you will realize you got scammed.other than that there is usually long lines for the bathroom and long times to get in after about 11am usually on weekends mainly Sunday.Still a nice place to visit if you want to buy masks, fruits, toys, small furnitures, clothes.
On Sunday 8/15 @ 338pm, Manager Lionel was very rude and inappropriate when i approached him about speaking to me and my two children in spanish. I communicated to him as i do not speak spanish and he really should not address folks based on their appearance. He bacame very upset and disrespectful. When i asken him for his last name, he said, dont worry about it. His management style is very unproffesional. He needs to be trained and coached on how to communicate and solve problems! No woman should have to be treated this way in front of her young children. Especially a man! I truly hope, Manager Lionel, receives the training he needs in this area so no one is subject to this type of behavior moving forward.
Today was just .50 admission. I may try on a weekend but doubt it. There were vendors with great priced succulents. That you could tell they grew themselves as opposed to others there that have like orchids and such that theyve brought to sell away from a brick and stone. Good prices on veggies as well.Every other vendor was clothes. Piles of used unfolded clothes. On tables. If youve ever done laundry, this will easily turn you off! And the vendors YELL. Its not pleasant A majority are just rude. This place is open 7 days a week. Im glad theres a place people can go to make some money. But I think Ill stick to the monthly De Anza flea. Now thats a market!
Oh boy! Oh drat! There is no good toys to buy at this flea market! Even there are a few a good ones in bad condition. Also they can get expensive there! All they sell is junk, junk, junk! Junk is everywhere! I did not find and buy a single thing! It left me empty-handed! The area is also dirty! If you are a toy collector like myself, please go to De Anza Flea Market instead or just go on eBay. Please do not waste your money there. This is not a flea market it is a dumpster.
I often attend the Capitol Flea Market as a vendor. Many of the vendors complain its not busy enough and that the shoppers dont want to pay reasonable prices. It can be trying some days but you have to make the best of it! On the rare occasions I get to go as a shopper I absolutely love going through the stands of mixed used goods. You never know what treasures are to be found! Either way, the best part of my day there is being greeted by the ladies who work behind the counter preparing hot foods early in the morning. They always are very attentive and efficient, and best of all no matter how rough the morning may start after waiting most of the night in line for a space, they never fail to send me on my way with a smile! Kudos to you ladies, keep on doing what you do, youre the best!! And to the restroom attendants as well... I cant imagine cleaning stall after stall all day long, but yet you dont hear complaining about it! These ladies as well are friendly and right on top of things.. Kudos to management for coordinating a well-tuned staff..
Miss the flea my favorite place to be.something for everyone .everyone was being safe wearing masks keeping their distance. the bathrooms extremely dirty.it would be nice of the owners to add seating for people like myself that need to rest often due to disabilities.a few seats here and there 6ft apart what a wonderful idea 💡
Cool place to go: you have lots of vendors with new and used items to look through, lots of food, sometimes has live entertainment. Free parking! My only gripe is that theres spots throughout the market that smell like urine. Its mostly in the corners of the area, thankfully not anywhere near the food items. I recommend going in the morning before 8:30am, so youre likely to skip the long entrance line and get good parking. 👌
My Wife and I went last weekend after having driven by for the last 18 months. We live right down the road! We will be back! We have bought fruits and vegetables from local farmers markets for years and the same produce at the flea market is a fraction the cost! Great bargain! We will return often!
Its been FOREVER since Ive been to this flea market. I just remembered that you have to pay to enter, but I remember the selection inside being pretty good. There are different rates depending on the day and time you enter. Theyre open Wed - Sunday and it generally cost more if you want to be there when it opens because I guess its when you can find all the good stuff. Its pretty spread out, so I found it a little hard to keep track of which vendors I passed by already, but that was fine. Theres a vast selection from groceries (fruits & veggies), candy, new/old clothes, new/old electronics, toys, tools, and basically what you would expect to find at a flea market.Came on a Saturday around 1:40 pm and the admission was $1.50 /person. Towards 2:30 PM a lot of the vendors started packing up because they close at 4:30 PM, which I assume is so that they can clean up their whole area so that it can be converted into the drive-in theatre later. Based on the chart that they had at the ticket counter, its cheaper the earlier on in the week you go, which makes sense. If you want to exit and re-enter (like if you want to put something in your car), you have to exit through the front entrance and get a stamp on your hand
Not much of a variety. Was hoping for more furniture or antiques but its mostly clothes, tools or toys. There were a few produce stands but not much else. Theres pretty much no shade either. Kinda hard to navigate through it also....the layout is kind of confusing. Plenty of parking in a huge lot. Parking is free but theres a small fee per person to get in.
Loud music every. single. weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. Everyone at the market must be losing their ability to hear because of how unreasonably loud the music is. The exact same songs are playing all the time, and its only exclusive to the weekends. Their speakers are pointed towards the apartment complexes and houses, going further down Hillsdale you get to a point where the music goes absolutely silent.Their parking lot also contains a lot of trash.
Went here today with my family and honestly it felt like a giant garage sale area because many items being sold looked like old items people got from their homes. Adults $1.50 Saturday and sun $1.75 to enter. Kids under 4 are free. Although they open early many stations set up around 10:30 am.They had a mini playground outside flea market and near it they had food court (hot dog, pizza & pretzels etc) that had a game area. The live music was good though . i usually go to swap meet in hegenberger or the one in Napa so this one was ok but could have been better
Only half the market is open on Wednesday, but at least its only .25 cents to enter. There are a lot of second hand items for sale, but you have to be aware that some of them might be broken. Fruits and veggies are really cheap here and if you go early you can buy them fresh. There are real flowers for sale as well.
Been going here for years. Great buys lots and lots of selections. Besides the regular vendors, you also have other sellers cleaning iut there garage storage locker ectt. These sellers are my favorite.Lits of parking , getting in and out no problem. Admission cheap.Even live music.
Wow. So many things to see. From the road to the facility, to the parking area, the entry way into the market, and them the market. A kaleidoscope of humanity. We got the lower half of a mannequin for $5. And that was not the weirdest thing I saw for sale. You should try it out.
True flea market, like a GIANT garage sale, great prices on produce. enjoy walking the isles. could use more ticket windows open and some way to organize the lines that people dont just wander in front of you instead of going to the back of the line. anyway, Ill be back!
I love going every Friday! I shop for VHS movies and DVDs. Get them from .10cents, .50 and $1.00 My grandkids love watching movies. You can find really great clothes for $1.00 some still have price tag. Your can find nice paintings and whatever your into! The fruits and vegetables are reasonably priced. I look forward to getting off work on Fridays and heading straight for the CAPITAL FLEA MARKET only .50cents on Friday to get in and free parking WHAT A BARGAIN!
About 2 years ago I went to the San Jose Flea Market for the first time in years and it broke my heart. All the stands had the same cheap cell phone items and that was about it. San Jose Capitol Flea Market is still true to form with random stands with random junk that you just have to have! You need to low-ball these people on their stuff because theyve been around the block and will steamroll you if they can. You got to love it!
The fruit market was the worst smell I had. There was some stands with Hot Wheels cars and they were very very cheap. In stores, it was about $4, but in the flea market is $1 or maybe less. I did some bargaining to learn about business bargains. Buy 50% or 25% off that is. Some had some of the childhood memories, which I become a collector after discovering a Deora 2 from Highway 35 World Race.
This is a local flea market near me great items to find my father and me usually go there but not now due to the virus but man I LOVE this place I dont care about the loud music for god damm sake i am a Mexican not saying Mexicans are the best but some people enjoy this some people dont
My roommate and I went to this flea market and had our dogs with us. We walked up to purchase our tickets to go in and the person behind the glass could clearly see that we had dogs because we were holding them. They have 1 sign that says No Dogs up by the entrance turned to the side so you cant even see it. So, the guy at the gate says we cant bring them in but we can get a refund for our tickets. We asked if this is a usual rule and they said yes. Why would you sell us the tickets if you can see we have dogs and know that the dogs arent allowed in?
Its how its always been! Thought they had changed up no paying for parking they just made it where you have to pay to get in lol. The parking spaces suck for bigger vehicles and people cant drive and hit your car when getting in and out of theirs. Leaving can be hell they need to fix the exiting.
My wife and I are traveling from Fresno to the coast for our anniversary on June 8th and specifically including this as one of our stops for sure due to all the research and reviews Ive looked up. We are gonna pass up on the Berryessa Flea Market . We love authentic swap meets!
Admission to a flea market is a very odd concept to me. I dont associate amusement with a flea market where you can attend free shows like Great America. I bet if Target started charging admission at the door, there would be no discussion of new locations and their company logo would be used against them as everyone fired remarks and boycotted.Other than that, theres very little protection from the elements and an insufficient number of garbage recepticals. The cutest aspect is watching the squirrels scurry about with some brazen enough to stand in front of you begging for peanuts.
Ive gone to Capitol Flea Market often over several years, and lately it seems to be going really down hill! In the past you would see more residential vendors (people selling stuff from their home), but now it seems that the junk collectors (guys that sell stuff from storage units) have cornered the market on most of the spaces. Plus they ask too much for the junk they have and most of their stuff gets marked down to $1 or free towards closing time. Also, if you go on Friday, it closes at 3:00 not 3:30 like it states on line. You can find some good stuff but you have to search. Surprisingly, the upside of Fridays is that they usually have a good rock band playing cover jams.
This flea market is regular and relatively large around Santa Clara area. My parents go there frequently if no other activities. I only know the ticket is $1.50 (year 2014) on weekends. Many sellers reside in this fair. Both farmers market and yard sales types are present here. You can find cheap fruits and 2nd hand staff. But dont come here if you are picky on quality and shopping comforts.
The truth is all right but today something happened to me that I really did not like go early and then I went out to buy outside and when I return the seal I was I had erased a bit and the goalkeeper wanted me to pay again that is not right I think many people have to put more horden
Capital flea market is my favorite flea market, but the manager of capital flea market is rude and unprofessional guy, today his miss behavior shocked me, I asked him can I talk with your supervisor About the penalty that given to me without any reason and without any warning and without informing about the new rule, he was telling me “ Get lost”, Mr.david ( owner) should think about his manager, his manager is not fit in the manager post.
Would give it 0 stars if i could. There is a racist supervisor screamed at me a minor, said my dad had to pay $2 to re-enter to go to the restroom just because the re-entry stamp was blurry, and threatened to call police not quite very nice.Should get fired for such behavior to customers. Also unreasonable prices 12 oz. water for $2 could buy outside for $1.Do not recommend to go if you are against racism.

2022-05-29Love this place. I probably go once a month. All the workers here are friendly and helpful. For a crowded area I feel very safe. I mainly go here to buy fruits but once in a while I go here to buy some of the tools I need to do my planting

2022-05-22Good flea market however some sellers(just some)kind of overprice their stuff even though it’s a flea market.Like I saw a lady ask $50 for a small kids piano that was used when it shouldn’t be over $15.While others give you good things cheap and there is usually dollar stuff or less.Fruits and vegetables good too but once someone sold me them rotten. So inspect them before you buy or don’t buy them in a basket like I did.I have found many good things here though.Best time to go is around 8-9am as there will be less people in line(trust me the line gets very long sometimes) and parking is easier to find early morning. Also don’t buy things that don’t work because lots of sellers like to scam and say it does work. There is also rude sellers when my kid want to buy a toy they got mad because he kept looking for too long and told us to leave.Don’t buy from rude sellers and take your money elsewhere. They need to do something about this

2022-02-24We enjoy driving up from Fresno CA. Cant remember ever leaving empty handed. On this day I paid $20 for 2 brand new queen size bed toppers. $35 for a new Cal King floral print quilt ($150 in the catalog), $5 for a new Cal King sheet set (missing 1 pillow case). $5 for a new set of sheer curtains, and much more. Yup...I give this Swap 👍👍

2022-01-18Awesome place to hunt for antique and collectible items. Lots of fruits, vegetables, clothing, and other stuff. I mainly go to this flea market weekly to find antiques and over the last 18 years I have collected quite a few significant items. Thursdays and Sundays are the most crowded days of the week and it’s sometimes a nightmare to find parking. I would suggest to go there in early mornings. During Covid pandemic, wearing a mask or face covering is required for entrance and it should be worn at all time. Admission is Wednesdays $.25, Thursdays $1, Fridays $.50, Saturdays $1.50, and Sundays $2.25. It’s fun and totally acceptable to bargain at the flea market BUT please do NOT give lowball offers. Most importantly please respect sellers! Enjoy your days at the Capitol flea market!

2021-10-19One of my favorite Fleamarkets , my kids love it, on vacation or days off. We love the antique stuff, vintage clothes and different stuff. Also wonderful fruit and vegetables.
