Im giving 4 stars to sum up my experience. I tried Saltys for the first time the other day. It was a weekend so obviously it was pretty busy. I ordered a tri tip sandwich and my husband ordered the 1/2 chicken, 1/2 ribs and tri tip. First off they forgot the chicken. Second, it took over 45 minutes to order and get the food. Overall the food was good. I wont make it up when I say that sandwich I had was delicious! Was it worth the amount of money I paid along with the missing food and the wait? No. Its really over rated. Maybe if I went on a weekday and it wasnt so busy then it would be better. Im not going to say I wont ever try it again because I wont base my experience off one visit. Overall though, good food.
The Tri-tip was wonderful, and so was the mac & cheese, but the pork was forgettable and the brisket was regrettable. The chicken was nothing special and pretty bland. We will not be back. For the price tag, we can find a better meal. The cashier was super friendly though, which was nice.
Ive ordered a ton of door dashes from various food places in bakersfield. Ive ordered from a few BBQ places In bakersfield and was like ehhh... didnt really care to order from them again so I was very hesitant on ordering door dash Saltys BBQ...So I took a chance because I was craving BBQ food, and oh.... my gawd...Hands down the BEST door dash order Ive ever done, the ribs were incredible. The tri tip sandwich was phenomenal...I tried the Mac n cheese the coleslaw. I look 9 months pregnant right now.I aint even one to leave reviews on food because its just whatever to me. But I had to leave a review that this is HANDS DOWN the number one BBQ spot in bakersfield and I will gladly be a returning customer man...Their food is incredible.
Best bbq in town. Its mostly a to go place in Bakersfield. They do have picnic benches for outdoor dining. The meat is super tender with the most delicious bbq sauce ever. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich, melts in your mouth. They offer catering for large parties and have huge portions so come hungry. The prices are much less than other bbq restaurants that are in town. The owner is the nicest guy, and Salty,s was on a episode of Dinners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri. A must to try located on 9425 Rossdale Hwy, Bakersfield CA 93312.
I had the brisket, pork ribs, beef ribs, green beans, and rice pilaf. Brisket was good and tender, smokey and flavorful. I had the 1/2 pound plate of brisket, however, there seemed to be more fat than meat. The pork ribs were just the right amount of pull and tenderness. Just a tad dry but if you add a small dab of bbq sauce, you would never know it was a little dry. The beef ribs were good and smokey, just needed a bit more meat. Seasoned well and flavorful in every bite. Rice pilaf lacked a bit of flavor, needs a little more chicken broth for flavor just a bit. Sweet tea is delicious and freshly brewed everytime the container runs out. Staff were friendly and courteous...highly recommended if your in the area.
My husband and I have been wanting to try Saltys for awhile now, but we live over an hour away, so trying to find the time to come to Bakersfield has been tough.... But we finally came tonight, and boy are we glad we did!! It was even better than people have said, and the pictures look! The meat melted in your mouth, the spicy mac-n-cheese was to die for, the Pyrenees rolls are a great addition to any meal, and we added a Sweet Tea, which tasted like it was straight from the South! My husband had the chili beans which were awesome as well! We will definitely be making the drive to come back to Saltys again.... Its worth it!!!
One of my favorite bbq places ever! Look, I’ve been to hundreds of hole-in-the-wall joints in my business travels, and this has got to be in my top 5. The chicken was awesome, and the pulled pork was divine. We got the sampler platter to share, which was amazing! Brisket, tri-tip, pulled pork, chicken, beef ribs, pork ribs, and delicious toasted garlic rolls... it was divine! Totally worth stopping in to try one of Bakersfield’s best!
Girl taking orders at window was not very customer friendly. Ordered one beef rib, one pork rib and potato salad. Beef rib had a strange texture. Instead of a pork rib I was given several tiny pieces of ribs, all of which were over cooked. Potato salad was worst I’ve ever had.
Great BBQ!! Get the brisket, ribs and everything! The sides are awesome too! They aren’t traditional sides - they are fancied versions so it may not be what you’re used to. We love them. Great family owned and plenty of parking and always tasty! The bbq sauce is super good too! I wish they bottled it - I put it on my Mac and cheese!
So I stop in at this place Thursday morning about 11:30. Me and another guy before me were the only people there. I placed my order second. Now others are showing up. There is only one window to order at and receive your order. After 15 minutes I am wondering how long does it take 4 workers to turn out orders. It’s at this time the guy who took my order comes outside with his own to go plate goes over to a table and sits down to eat. By this time there 9 people in line waiting to order or get there food. After 25 minutes have past since I ordered I go up to the window to find out where is my order. The girl inside looks around and there sets my food behind her. That’s how long it took to get a 1/2 pound of sliced brisket and two sides. Now the food. The brisket is marginal. It is far away from being Texas brisket. It was more like a roast with a hint of smoke. Guy Fieri you are so wrong on this place. The bbq sauce is really marginal.Potato salad taste like supermarket brand. Chili beans should be call jalapeños beans. There not hot with fire but there is so much jalapeño in the beans you can taste nothing else.Sorry but this place is so unspectacular I fail to understand how it received tv recognition by the Diners drive-in and dives.I am not hating on you I just failed to find what I was expecting
Quick SummaryExpect a food coma after eating here. I expect no less for any BBQ spot. Large portions, decent food, excellent service, good value.Food- 4 starsThe portions were large here and the food is decent. Ive tried the pork chops, and although they were flavorful, I was slightly disappointed that it was dry (I guess thats expected when you deep fry a pork chop, but I guess thats what the gravy is for). The sides were excellent.Service- 5 starsStaff members are very friendly and attentive.Atmosphere- 5 starsReally large area and it seems to be always packed. Expect a wait if you come on SundaysValue- 5 starsLess than $20 for most entrees and youre eating like a king.Bottom LineGreat spot if youre craving some BBQ, wanting to pig out, or recovering from a hangover.
The food is always awesome. However the last two times we have ordered they have forgotten our sides. Not a huge deal but a little annoying. I use doordash cause they are to far from my work. So we order it thru doordash. Today we ordered and no side of coleslaw for two orders. Just frustrating. Other than that the food is great.
Service was quick and friendly even while pretty busy. I had the brisket and rib combo. Made a bad choice. The ribs were good but I should have just gotten a pound of that brisket. Perfect smokey flavor, thick chucks and not full of fat or grease. Best brisket Ive had in quite awhile. The spicy Mac and cheese had a nice subtle zip to it as well.
Good BBQ.Just wish there were more menu options or a la carte. Maybe I misread the menu but the brisket and rib combo was just too much food. I thought it was brisket and pork spare ribs alone, but omg, there was also a huge beef rib.The brisket and spare ribs were great. Can’t say much about the beef rib. Not really a fan of them and as I was so stuffed by then I only took a bite and pushed it away.
I had the tri-tip & pork rib combo with potato salad**the meat was on point but the sides are seriously lacking in flavor(I also tasted my friends mac&cheese & beans & those were also bland) I will say the meat is definitely a reason 2 go back Ill just stick with a tri-tip sandwich with no sides.Side note: the cashier was very friendly 🙂
Dont come here twords the end of the day! Food is dry/ tri-tip! Chicken breast was the smallest and the thigh was smallest I have ever gotten ever from anywhere! They were all out of brisket and the rolls were burnt! People next to us got the 80 dollar package they seemed to take good care of them they were happy! I ordered half chicken, half try-tip and 9 rolls at around 7pm!
When Im in the mood for some BBQ, this place is what I think of, if Im not going to cook at home. They dont rely on sauce to cover up their meat (like other places do). They let their skill on the grill come through to tantalize your taste buds. The meat is BBQed as if I was smoking it at home. Their blend of spices are a masterpiece of flavor for the palette. If you want to know what you are getting look no further then right next to the window and you will see there trailer out and in the open, so there is no hiding what they are doing. The flavor is the same at either location. The green beans are a great choice. They are a buttered, fresh green bean with minced garlic. My family love them and my wife has made them at home. They have a delicious tri tip sandwich that is tender, moist and has fantastic smoke flavor. The sandwich is a French roll sized, hunger killing meal.Another small detail is their rolls are grilled and buttered generously. The inside of the roll has a crisp crunch that is just perfect. I will buy a hot link and put it in between the crispy buttery rolls and make it into an amazing little sandwich.I saw them on Diner, Dine In, and Dives. I have been to some other place DDD recommended, but I didnt care to much for them. This place is really is outstanding.I dream of owning a franchise in this business, maybe someday. This place is always busy, the wait is always worth it.Last thing to note. For those that are MSG sensitive, you wont find MSG here (from experience I have not actually asked them about what they use). Both my wife and I get migraines with MSG and we can eat here with no problems. I can even have the BBQ sauce (almost all BBQ sauces have MSG in them). The BBQ sauce is there own tangy recipe.
Pulled pork & rib comboPulled pork had a good flavor just the right amount of sauce. Ribs were Not good, meat flavor just wasnt there. And I had to try to rip the meat off one of the bones.Sauce on the pulled pork was good, I was hoping it was going to have just a little kick but it still worked. Potato salad was not good could use a little more flavor. Portion size was a little lite for a $20 plate. (I know bbq is expensive but small side, 2 ribs and pulled pork and some bread, no). On the other side my buddy said he loved his sandwich (the one Guy Fieri eat) I wish I would have remembered to try there smores dessert. I would go back for the pulled pork and I do want to try that dessert.
Normally this place is pretty good. last time I went they forgot part of my order. When I went back I didnt even get an apology. Employee that I talked to said yea they didnt put it in your bag. I live a cross town from this location and at 5pm its is not easy getting back over there. Once I got home I started eating my order with was a pulled pork sandwich. I bit into 2 big sharp pieces of bone. I could of easily chocked or cut my mouth pretty bad on that. Normally this place is good but my last visit wasnt a good one.
Don’t call ahead. Impossible to get call through but if you do, they will put you on hold indefinitely! No warning, no information on how long you will be on hold ! They place you on hold just to quiet their phones! Not my idea of customer service!! Right now I’ve been holding for 20 mins!!!
After hearing such good things about this place I was sadly let down. The tri-tip was over cooked the pulled pork too dry the beef ribs tasted like they were reheated. The brisket was good but not spectacular. The Mac and cheese had no flavor the beans tasted like they came out of a can. Sadly the best part of the meal was the bread and the barbecue sauce. I would try this place again it was decent bbq maybe if you show up there on a day it’s fresh it would be better.
I called ahead to make sure they were open. They not only said they were open but claimed to have misters. The only misters were right in front of the area whe you order the food. You still have to stand in line for 30-40 minutes in unbearable heat. The dining area does not have misters either. The food was tough and chewy. They were sold out of chicken. Their sweet tea was missing during the entire time we were there. Not at all worth the $75 we paid for three meals. We will never return.
Love to come eat here... everytime I do I get my half chicken dinner and get some sausage links and some ribs for my dad and some pepper Jack 🌶macaroni 😋& cheese 🧀.. oh man its soooo good. They are fast and friendly and for the price you always get plenty of food.Nothing beats this place when your hungry for a good hearty meal..
Dinners, Drive-ins, and Dives has this place spot on! My husband had the same sandwich as Guy. My husband said I agree with Guy. This sandwich is well worth the money! I had the tri-tip sandwich because the Saltys special was just too much food for me. Also their sweet tea has just enough sugar to be tasty but not so much that you think you are drinking a syrup like some places back home. Wish I could have had more of their sweet tea!Oh back home is in the mid west.
I placed an order this evening through Ubereats for 2 pulled pork sandwiches. The sandwiches were cold, the pulled pork so hard that they couldn’t be eaten and they both had very little barbecue sauce. I have had pulled pork sandwiches from there before and they were delicious. This was totally inedible, I am very disappointed.Linda Eurto
We were excite to drive almost 200 miles to eat great tasting BBQ. We spent $160, ordering the platter and honestly you get 6 half rolls , dried out tri-tip, dried small half chicken. We order 5 of the sandwiches the chicken had barely any chicken on it as did every sandwich except the Pullled Pork sandwich it was very good even though I do not like pork. The spicy Mac & Cheese was very good. The Beans were okay nothing special. They serve store bought potato salad and add olives to it and it was horrible. So if you go there do not be a fool and spend a lot of money its not what Guy says it is.
Great food, and fast service. If you have a hankerin for BBQ but dont want to wait long, Saltys is the way to go. The location is small but has plenty of seating and parking.Personally, Ive spent a lot of time researching how to BBQ and Ive gotten into smoking 6 hour ribs and 8+ hour brisket. For me, they do a fantastic job, and the quality and tenderness is always spot on. However, I feel that their rub isnt quite intense enough for me. I like my meat to have a nice bark to it. In the past at Saltys Ive eaten some delicious ribs that had some bite to their bark, but lately it hasnt really impressed me.Im not going to give up eating here because I cant think of anywhere else you can get meat cook like this in Bakersfield. I fully recommend this restaurant.
Saltys has been a personal favorite for the better part of a decade!! The special -- with tri-tip and pulled pork -- is really pretty unparalleled with respect to spectacular sandwiches. The owner is a super nice guy as well. Make absolute sure you go for lunch one day soon!
Had amazing pulled 1/4 pork and 1/4 chicken combo and it was mouth watering! Not expecting this place to be so good! The side of spicy Mac and cheese was made with spiral macaroni and real cheese (so creamy and delicious), the roll was buttered and fried, and the chicken was tender and juicy. The pulled pork was seasoned perfectly, and a generous side of BBQ sauce was available for dipping. Definitely coming again to try ribs next.
The food we did get was good. We showed up at 6pm on saturday, and they were out of a few items. Beef ribs were unavailable, so they doubled our pork ribs. We got the end pieces, so they were dry and jerky like. 30 min later they ran out of chicken. They were out of iced tea, so we let them know. They said they would make some more. 30 minutes later we asked again and they said it was too late to make some more. Service was terrible. And thats what left the bad taste in our mouths.
I have had the pork spare ribs dinner several times. The ribs are very meaty, however the fat is not quite rendered all the way. The ribs need to be on the grill another 30 minutes. The coleslaw and chili beans or excellent and the service is impeccable. Go and enjoy!
Oh my God this was delicious. Im pretty picky when it comes to barbecue and this place is the best. Saw the DDD Bakersfield edition and wow. Based on the show, when we were in town visiting the family, we had to stop in. We had the Saltys Special, Tri Tip Sandwich, pulled pork, hot link and Grilled Chicken and it was all delicious. The sweet tea is the best Ive had since I was in Alabama. Coleslaw and spicy mac-n-cheese was outstanding. Nothing bad in the whole mix.
I was a little disappointed with Salty’s on this visit. I tried to order the ½ pound brisket and ribs combo, but they were out of brisket. I wanted the macaroni and cheese as a side, and they were out of that also. Both the pork ribs and beef ribs that I got were dry. The tri-tip that I got instead of the brisket was excellent as usual. The kid at the window seemed frazzled and forgot to give us our drinks. I also don’t like how when you pay with a credit card the first thing that pops up is a tip window, it is not as if these guys are doing some kind of service that they go above and beyond with, and the tablet screen you are using to pay with is right in front of the kid at the window, so you almost seem obligated to leave a tip. I don’t tip the workers at Carl’s Jr. or McDonalds, why should I here?
I wasnt impressed. The portions were small and the food was expensive. The brisket was very dry in my opinion but my wife liked it. The tri-tip lived up to its name, it was salty. In my opinion, the pork ribs were the best. I wouldnt recommend it nor would I go back.
I always enjoyed coming here with friends here after riding the motorcycle around. We always knew we would definitely enjoy our food and drinks and prices are in mid range, so you wont go broke having a meal thats for sure. I havent any problem recommending this place to anyone looking for a good place to eat and enjoy themselves with friends here.
I called in a phone order to a oid the long line; however, when I got there I still had to wait in a long line for 20 minutes to pick up my phone order. When I asked the clerk why the wait, he said it was the bosss call and to complain to him. Top it off there was no bbq sauce in my bag. Not good customer service. 😕
First time here at this location. Ordered their 1/4 Brisket and Rib Combo. No complaints so far I enjoyed the BBQ Pork Ribs and the juicy succulent Beef Brisket. Cooked to perfection. Beef Ribs kinda Salty haha. Go figure the place is called Saltys. I would come try it again.
They got my order wrong and charged me for what I order and when I said something he told me that wasnt what I ordered. I know they are busy but I shouldnt have to pay for something I dont get. I even tipped them really good (almost 10 dollars) curse I asked for extra meat on the trip tip cause the last time I ordered it was so skimpy. I love the food but I paid over $34 dollars for 2 sandwiches and tipped another $9 dollars to get it right. Oh, by the way the bread was black from being burned. Not a good experience. Dont know if I will be going back. And I do the ordering for my company too, they may have lost that business too. Mt. Poso Cogeneration company . Not a huge company but dollars they wont get. Very disappointed because the food is so good! Reba Gerber
This was a great place to eat the food was adesione and service was extremely friendly i would highly recommend it to everyone I had the bbq pulled pork and chicken with beans it was amazing!! They have 2 locations, one on Rosedale Hwy across from Target, and the other is on White Lane just west of Ashe Rd on the south side its in the old train car and the seating is out side at both locations.
This is my new eating spot in Bakersfield! The bbq here is so tender! Everything is portioned right for the hungry eater. The sides pair excellent with every meal. I cant get enough of the bbq sauce (wish they had it for sale) No long waits either! Go early before they sell out.
Good BBQ place. Its definitely on the high end, in terms of price though. I got ONE of their sandwich meals with a large side and it came out to $17. The food was good, but I personally dont think it was that good (to match the price). If this was the best Ive ever had, then maybe.... but it wasnt.
We love this place. Best in Bakersfield and no matter where we go in our travels so far, we have yet to have a Salty’s moment. Please do the rib cook off in Reno because no one is the caliber you guys are. Pyrenee’s thank you for your bread. We’ve had countless cheap bread that has no flavor and is just a utility to place meat in. Great partnership Salty’s and Pyrenee’s.
Forget phone order, more than 30 minutes on hold, drove over, stood on line, they served at least 10 people that came in while I was still on hold. Wont be a regular anymore very disappointing service. If you are not going to take phone orders say so, dont leave people hanging
Let me just start with Saltys has the best tri tip ever. I was hesitant to try this one, b/c we just moved here on this side of Bakersfield and I saw mixed reviews. I checked it out today and was amazed. It was so delicious, portion was huge , me and my daughter split the tri tip sandwich and the green beans were so good. Just like the white lane one. Plus today( first time all summer) was actually nice in the shade, so sitting outside was neat and you dont get the smoke blowing at you which bothers us at the other location . Very impressed and the service of the guys there was on point. Will be back.
Did a short road trip from LA to Bakersfield got together with my nephews and niece and great nephew ..along with my family .. wife, daughter and my bbq critic Grandson... we had the salty platter with a slab of ribs ,links and a couple of sides along with it well every thing was very tasty just enough smoke and a very tasty bbq sauce... the reason Im not giving it 5 stars I notice when they were building the fire they were using LIGHTER FLUID... instead of a torch... I asked my Grandson what he thought... pretty good grampa but not as good as yours hes my favorite eating machine ( 17 yrs.. 66 245 lbs) smokin barrel bar b que...Whittier, ca. Member (WCPM GROUP)
Went here on Sunday night around 6pm. Waited in line for about 15 minutes when I get to the register to place my order I am informed that they were out of what I wanted. Not only that but they appeared to be out of most of the menu. I don’t care that they were out of food, I care that I had to wait in a long line only to find out that they were out of everything that i wanted. There were no signs or staff telling the people in line that they were out of food! Unprofessional and very bad customer service. Eaten here before and the food is good, but how hard is it to let people know that you are low on food.
Picked up a tri tip and a combo tri tip brisket sides chili beans potatoe salad Cole slaw all was great bream was tender all made for a great lunch. They give you a good amount of well seasoned juicy meat. I was happily fill. One of two in town Rosedale east to find great parking.
Got the Salty Special 13 & change. Clerk stated stated 4 piece of tri tip, pull pork with bbq sauce already mixed in with pork topped with coleslaw. 1 piece of tri tip was a small end piece thinly sliced. other was a slightly bigger than the first andother 2 were same size. I didnt know pull pork would have sauce already mixed in, i would have preferred sauce on side so i could taste the meat. The tri tip taste ok. It is not the type of taste I where Id be driving to get more of into my mouth. Bread/ bun very average. Slaw was good. not a sweet slaw, it is more sour. Saw Salty featured on Diner, Drivins & Dives & the sandwich they showed looked... more. Clerk couldnt tell me approx how much the weight of tri tip or how much the weight of pull pork in sandwhich. He just said it has 4 slices of tri tip. Was disappointed pull pork had bbq already mixed into it. Maybe a better choice for me would have been 1/4 lb tri tip & chicken. or 1/4 tri tip & 1/4 brisket. Bread make a good sandwich. Their bun left me wanting a better bun like a French or crusty bread. Its ok. Service was good. Didnt have to wait long for order to be taken or recieved. meat was not hot like it came off grill or oven. Was able to handle sandwich easily. Roll of paper towels on tables for napkins red checker table cloth on picnic bench table makes for a cute place. Got there around 1pm on a Monday. There was no bbq grilling outside no lingering bbq smell.
Food was ok. Not a big fan of the food quality. And they close really early! I tried the special. I dont know if it was just my food buy the tri tip wasnt to my liking because it was kind of dry. And the service was very mediocre. Maybe I will try this spot one more time to give a final rating.
I didnt know Saltys was featured on Diners Driveins and Dives, or I would have been here sooner. Their pork ribs are on point and the Brisket has a wounderful bark. The Tri-tip is cooked Santa Maria style on a open pit over hardwood. I was very impressed with the included BBQ sauce. Its a little sweet with great flavor. 👍👍
My first time here, my grand-daughter said, Nana you need to try it, so she treated me to lunch.....you made the BEST Tri-tip sandwich I have ever eaten, AWESOME sandwich. I must say, that I never ever eat an entire lunch, or dinner anywhere I go, but I did the sandwich. 👍👍👍👍👍
I spent over 100$ in food and they wouldnt let me take 1/4 of a roll of papertowels. Food was good. Ribs were undercooked and were hard to chew. Pulled pork was the best. Saltys wont be catering for us next time because simply they didnt give us organized napkins. NAPKINS are necessary with kids, and I even offered to buy them. Ill be going to Freds down the street when Im in town.
Over all pretty dorn good chili bean real good love there chicken the only complant is there potato salad not up to my liking . prices arent too bad for barbecue staff are very nice and pleasant and wait time 5 to 10 min in and out nice area sit down if you decide you want to eat there apoquel parking in the back..
My son took his devoplmental handicap uncle there and there were customers making fun of him. When asked they said if you wouldnt take him in public there wouldnt be problems. Not one person stood up for them. Never never will anyone in our family go there. Im so going to blast this on every social media I can.
Food was good but after hearing about how some customers treated a mentally disabled person who was minding his own business I might add and then kicked out the man and his nephew cuz his nephew stood up for him I personally will never go back! Ill never reward bad morals with my service and money

2022-01-16Picture isn’t that great since I had poured BBQ sauce on it already. Ordered lunch for the team, I had a brisket sandwich with spicy Mac and cheese and a piece of beef rib. Brisket was little dry but had a good smoke taste to it, mac and cheese was good with slight spice kick and rib was moist and tasted good.I think the experience would have been much better if I had eaten at a restaurant instead of having it delivered. I will try it again but this time at a restaurant and update my review accordingly.Overall good food

2022-04-104.9.22 Saltys special.. wow 2 thumbs 👍3.19.22 ordered Saltys special, 1/4 tri tip, 1 beef and 2 pork ribs. Wow.. Saltys special is really good... and the surprise to me is the beef rib. I was expecting dry but rather.. very juicy with jerky flavor. Pork ribs were over done.. too dry.Definitely will come back for more. Thanks, Guy @ Food Channel

2022-06-05Tri tip sandwich is one to comeback for! That cut of meat is perfect! The spicy mac and cheese had peppers instead of a spicy sauce but it wasnt bad at all! My chili beans were so well cooked!

2022-03-23Amazing food! This place had its own charm… only reason I didn’t give 5 star is because I’m very particular with my sauce … and their sauce wasn’t to my liking …. HOWEVER!!! Everything was really good! If you’re around the area; definitely a must try

2021-10-23First of all, the food was AMAZING. My negative review is for the TERRIBLE staff. I usually dont post down too much from staff. But this is an ongoing problem that really needs to be addressed. Bad service will ruin any meal!If you have ZERO customer service, go live on your mommys couch, and PLEASE dont work with people. Bad service will RUIN you.The staff was so completely rude, and treats you like youre garbage on their shoe. We almost left. They were out of just about everything, and were still open another 2 hours. How embarrassing!! Mind as well close 2 hours early if youre out of stuff. The tables are all in the parking lot, and you have cars driving by you while youre eating. Every table was uneven, and you had to eat lopsided, not to mention the tables were FILTHY.The food was mostly all delicious. Hubby didnt think so. But I did. I was super stoned too though. I say, of you dont mind trashy service, stop by and grab so food Togo.I might raise my review IF I decide to return, and they have gotten rid of the unprofessional yokes they have working there.

2021-11-07Salty’s has been putting out great BBQ for years. I’ve been here several times. Parking is limited, even behind the restaurant fills up fast. Employees have always been friendly and nice.I ordered the three meat plate. One beef rib, one spare rib, and a 1/4 pound of their brisket. It comes with a roll and one side, I ordered chili beans. The brisket was excellent. The pork rib was pretty good. The beef rib was awful, you couldn’t bite off a piece while holding the bone. I gave up on it and tossed it. Beans need to kicked up a notch-where’s the beef, didn’t see any chili.

2021-09-20Saltys is definitely worth the drive away from the 99. There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about their brisket or their pulled pork. I dont often drive through Porterville but when I do Ill make sure to stop by again. I ordered an extra tri-tip sandwich to go ... I can clearly understand why it was featured in diners drive-ins dives.

2022-03-01The best bbq! Tried the Saltys Special and it was amazing! Spicy mac and cheese was so good and perfectly spicy! Amazing green beans and even the rolls were amazing! They split the rolls and grill them lightly toasted, so good! We will definitely be back to try more!
