We stayed two nights during the Labor Day weekend. We checked in using the Marriott app but we got there before the mobile key was issued. However, because it was late (10pm), it was easy and we got into our room within minutes. Parking was easy. The room is very spacious. It has a small kitchen and a cute dining area. Bed is comfortable but pillows are too soft for me (should have brought my own). The biggest complain I have is the AC was really loud. Temperature was set at 65 so we adjusted it to 74 and it was still running the whole time. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. It has the typical American style breakfast. Coffee was great. All the staffs wore a mask and I have seen them clean common area once. All in all, the place is decent. Cost is reasonable. We will stay here again if we visit Irvine again.
The front desk staff made for a pleasant check in. My son enjoyed the pool, and the fire pit and seating area outside were very nice. However, the rest of my stay was very unpleasant. I took a shower and went to lay in bed and there was pee on the comforter, like someone had wet the bed. It was very alarming, and I called front desk and they brought me sheets to change myself. I felt very disgusted for the remainder of my stay. I do not feel at all satisfied by the cleanliness of the hotel. I don’t think the bed was clean at all. I didn’t sleep well because there was a large group of teenagers on in the jacuzzi until the pool closed at 10, then they played basketball on the court in the common area until 1:00am. Breakfast was ok. Not the best Marriott breakfast I have had, but ok.We stay with Marriott because we always have excellent service and have always loved our experiences. This was not a great, or even good experience.
Convenient to UCI and Irvine. Free parking and daily breakfast. Rooms with kitchenette & separate bedroom. Housekeeping service is by request. Full size refrigerator/freezer, two burner stovetops, toaster, dishwasher. Kitchens are furnished with a modicum of utensils. There are 3-4 place settings and some serving utensils. Several pot/pans are provided. Some rooms have cutting boards and larger pans. There doesn’t seem to be a standard set of equipment. The room was mostly clean, with several exceptions. The AC intake was very dusty, as were the cross pieces on the coffee table. One of the “clean” towels had a blob of something dark on it. Flat screen TVs worked well. Channel selection was not huge. Employees were friendly, but not overly welcoming. Room 303 was very quiet. Room 407 was noisier due to loud plumbing. There are two restaurants, right across the parking lot for takeout. A supermarket is about ½ mile away. Good choice for and extended stay.
Its much much nicer than we expected. My sisters apartment flooded, she had to move out for 9 days for repairs, so we moved her into a nice little studio on the 6th floor with a decent little kitchenette and an amazing larger (50 inch?) TV that swivels on a nice looking dresser to face either the living area or the king bed. The furnishings were tasteful & little modern with a nice big desk & a couch sectional that included a chaise. Very pleasant space!
We stayed here for a short weekend trip that included stops in Costa Mesa, Irvine, and Tustin. Great central location for us close to the freeway and airport. We had a 2 bedroom suite that was roomy. Free parking. Small market in the lobby and complimentary breakfast was helpful.
So I finish up meetings early and grab a pizza. But since I dont want my room to smell like pizza for the rest of my stay, I decide to eat in the lounge where theres a bid screen TV to enjoy The Super Bowl. But no!The big TV is broken, but there is a smaller one, but even with the sound at max it is inaudible!Cmon Marriot, take what I paid for my stay and replace the TV!Both Guadalupa and Yevgeniya went above and beyond to help, but you as a facility need to fix what doesnt work ASAP!Dont leave your workers to suffer for something so simple!Marriot --- you are BETTER than this!
When you enter the hotel you think itll be nice because the lobby is bright and clean, however, once you go past the door to the hallway you are greeted with dark, dirty, dated wallpaper and carpet and the room wasnt any better. Thank goodness for outside tables as I couldnt imagine eating a meal in the hotel room. We stayed here for the kitchenette, but didnt feel it was clean enough to use so we only used the refrigerator to store drinks. When we pulled out the sofa couch a plume of dust rose in the air. Also, Im not sure what qualifies as luxury bedding (as per the website), but I have to believe the room we stayed in did not have luxury bedding or the term doesnt mean much. I think what made the room more depressing was the dirty windows. Not sure the last time they were cleaned from the outside, but it was not pleasant to look out the windows - and leaving the blinds closed made the room equally as depressing. I dont understand how this hotel has a good rating. Truthfully, I couldnt wait to leave.
Stayed here for the first time. Really good hotel. The location is really good. It’s a pretty new hotel. The staff is accommodating, as an elite member I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was nice since there was 3 of us. Good free breakfast and they have a nice pool area w/fireplace. I highly recommend!
Our two month stay was simply pleasurable. The staff were like family and took exceptional care of us. They take pride in providing a clean, friendly, and memorable experience. The property and premises are spacious, attractive, and exceeded our expectations. Walking/jogging trail next door and world class shopping just down the road, not to mention beautiful location close to beach/Disneyland. We will definitely return. Hats off to you staff at Marriott Residence Inn John Wayne Airport!
This hotel over caters to pet owners. They dont designate certain rooms for pets so it is likely you will get a room where a pet has recently slept on your bed and urinated on the carpet. These arent service dogs. Puppies barking all night. EtcRoom was not clean. Dried food on the table. A clean room was not available until after 7 pm. So they have cut back on cleaning staff to save money. It was definitely clean enough for a dog. Carpet dirty. In the morning I walked barefoot on the carpet and when I stepped into the shower i had very dirty footprints. So they arent vacuuming the carpet.Usually you can trust Marriott to be a higher standard. Not so here.
This hotel from the moment we walked in, welcomed us. It was great. The breakfast that stars at 7am was amazing. A hot breakfast right now is hard to find due to the pandemic, but they found a way to make it safe for everyone. The bed and the room were so great. Everything was sanitized and cleaned. I will definitely stay here again!
Enjoyed our time as a family in Irvine CA. The Hotel was nice, quiet, centrally located making it easy to get to our destinations. We stayed in the 2 Bedroom Suite. It was good. Only thing I would suggest is to ensure that the vents to heating/cooling system is cleaned regularly. There was visible dust on the air vents.
Excellent location near the airport excellent restaurants, everything within walking or just a few minutes drive, very clean comfortable rooms very quiet, staff are very polite very helpful and eager to make sure you have a wonderful experience at their hotel would definitely recommend it for anyone that requires cooking their own meals or just wanting to have a refrigerator
BAD: First, I didnt get my upgrade to 2bedroom suite using my Suite Night Award bec they wanted to wait until there was a paying customer (at least I got 1bedroom suite using my Platinum status).Second, they locked me out of my room when I wanted to check out at 4pm (guaranteed Platinum benefit since they are not resort/convention hotels). If I dont check out at 12noon, Cant they just assume Ill be checking out at 4pm since Im a Platinum member instead of locking me out? Thats NOT good service for Platinum member or any customer for that matter! They said I needed to request 4pm checkout. Marriott website for Platinum member benefit section never mentions I need to request late checkout, it just says Guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, subject to availability at resort and convention hotels. I checked out at other Marriott hotels at 4pm without requesting late checkout. But ultimately, Its REALLY ANNOYING when they lock you out of your room, period!!Lastly, Our dishwasher was flooded when we checked in.GOOD:Complimentary breakfast is always welcome!Free parking is always a bonus!
Good location, convenient parking and decent hot breakfast items. The service quality has gone down. It looks like they are understaffed. We checked in at 5:30pm and the room type we booked was not ready. Platinum membership was acknowledged but no upgrade was available due to hotel being fully booked. Yet the Bonvoy app had rooms available for that night. The property (except for the lobby) is badly in need of an upgrade and Marriott should give an ultimatum to the ownership.
I checked in to this property due to an electrical problem at my home. It was very disconcerting, in this time of pandemic, and disappointing to find my room to be considerably less than clean. The hardware on the kitchen cabinets and drawers was filthy - sticky and greasy. The coffee maker had coffee grounds around the rim and when I wiped it, the washcloth was very stained by the residue on it. WHY should I even have to do that?! There were smudges on the light switch in the bathroom as well as on the bathroom door frame. I found long dark hairs in the bathroom - they werent mine, I have very short hair. The bed linens and pillows didnt smell clean. I was surprised that the pillows had no pillow protectors, just the pillow case. The bed wasnt made up well - lots of wrinkles. The decor of the room was dark and depressing and I was very glad to be able to check out sooner than I had anticipated. The staff were all very cordial and professional - but the housekeeping was sorely lacking.
No wake up call as requested so almost missed our flight. The air conditioner was extremely noisy. No guest mingle in the evening. Parking and proximity to airport, main roads, etc. was good. Wished we had time to try the breakfast. There was no one at the desk in the morning to even get us a muffin or piece of fruit.
Marriott has devised a system to never be accountable for their mistakes. We booked a week stay two months in advance of our vacation. We arrived and our hotel stay was cancelled. The front desk said I must of cancelled it “by mistake”?!? They offered no assistance. They said we would need to call Marriott corporate (that’s who we booked through). We called them, over the course of three hours of wait time they found us a hotel in Anaheim for the same rate. The fact that last minute there is a 2 bedroom suite available says it all - not a location in demand for multiple reasons. They promised they would make accommodations for their error. After 6 days with no call back, I called again. Another three hour call and they are reviewing. I always thought staying with a Marriott was the safe bet. I will never be able to stay at one again. If there is a problem, first they blame the customer, once they find it is their error, they do nothing to correct it and worse if you think (as I did mistakenly) they will help - they make you work for their help to the tune of too many hours - you give up. Had we known we would have booked with another hotel we found ourselves. Their “help” helped them - not us. We paid top dollar for a last minute reservation at a non-desirable hotel that added 1-2 hours of drive time for us daily and was dirty/poorly managed (the reviews online are so bad you would never book at that location). Buyer beware - Marriott is not what they claim to be.
When I booked our room on the Marriott website I requested a high floor, extra towels & pillows & received none of those. Not sure why they offer those things & then do not honor them. The lobby was very nice & recently updated. The pool & hot tub were nice except they closed at 6pm.The room was outdated, but clean except for a very strong smoked-in smell. There was a hot breakfast available, the staff dished it up for us.
Positive: Friendly and accommodating service, provided breakfast was great. Negative: I was not a huge fan of turn down service only being offered once during our six-night stay. With two young children in a large suite, it would have been helpful to have it at least swept and wiped down while we were gone during the day.
Have stayed at several Residence Inn’s (usually two bedroom suites) and this was probably our worst experience. Room was not move-in clean when we entered, one bed seemed too soft, spots on carpeting, refrigerated dented, limited glass wear, limited silver wear, limited dishwasher soap- given that they only clean once a weak unless requested, the rooms should be stocked for a week. Also disappointed that couldn’t use reward points for any room other than a studio. Why accumulate points when you can’t use them? We need two bedroom suites-so will we ever be able to use points?
Always enjoy staying at the residence inn the staff here are terrific they’re very friendly, professional, and they keep this place immaculately clean Michelle at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. The free breakfast is OK. can’t complain the only thing I would say was a little bit of a negative was some of the AC vents in the room were extremely dirty so I felt like I was breathing in a lot of dust but other than that I would recommend this place to all my friends.
I wish I would have known you guys were housing people that were misplaced they took over the pool the hot tub the barbecue we didnt get to enjoy the amenities your company should do the right thing and at least reimburse our monies back. I would also recommend adding some potato pancakes or waffles the eggs tasted like they were from a powder mix the gravy needed all the help it could get we were very disappointed in the breakfast all together. The only thing that did Stand Out was the front desk they were always very helpful thats the one good thing you guys have going for you right now
FD agent looked like she was at the end of a rough shift and the room needed to be a little tidier (which I understand because hotel industry is in pain rn) but overall, service was friendly and accommodations were readily available (pool was open, clean and towels were replenished) and the floors looked vacuumed and clean. Nice experience overall.
Quiet and comfortable room with friendly helpful staff. Two issues I had were the overly small breakfast area for such a large hotel (led to lots of crowding in the morning) and the thermostat was located on the duct, so, the AC kept shutting off when the duct got cold (room was still way warmer). Otherwise, not a bad choice.
I am giving a 5-star rating to this hotel because of its its superb team of staff and the convenient location. We recently stayed in a two-bedroom suite for two weeks. The help we received from the hotel staff made our trip successful and pleasant.I must name two of the employees who went the extra mile to help. The first one was Cody Emerson. One day I tried to print a document using the public computer and printer, the printer got jammed I asked Cody for help and he showed great patience and dexterity to remove the jammed paper to make sure it worked. I was grateful for what he did. Another employee I appreciate is Ngan Le. When I tried to print another doc, the computer in the lobby was down. After a failed attempt to restart, Ngan asked me to send it to her email and among all the tasks she was juggling with, she managed to print my doc which was very important for me.Besides great customer service, this hotel’s location is convenient. It is located right by an entrance to I-405, and at the junction of Main and Jamboree, which is an artery of Orange County. It would be nice if there was a Starbucks within walking distance. The rooms may need an uplift as signs of wear and tear are seen. The chairs are old and not comfortable to sit on, but hey, nothing is perfect. Most importantly, we got our mission accomplished during of our stay. Thanks!
Everything was great from beginning to end. From the time I arrived, the location was spotless clean. Check-In was smooth; all staff members were professional and helpful. Rooms were beyond clean and food was good as well. I’ll definitely be back and will spread the word in the DC area.
The hotel is clean with friendly staff. I was in a king suite the duration of my stay. The dishwasher in the unit seemed a bit outdated and had to be serviced a few times during my stay. While my initial request was dismissed, the staff rectified the issue immediately. I would definitely stay again.
This was, by far, one of the nicest of all the Marriott properties weve stayed in. This review reflects a stay in November 2015. It was immaculately clean, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the location was convenient, and the breakfasts were excellent! All things taken into consideration, this Residence Inn offers great value for the money and can hold its own against any upscale hotel. Some specifics...the room itself was perfect - large, comfortable, modern, and well-appointed with everything you could need. Housekeeping was impeccable - my room was cleaned and made up every day by the time we had finished breakfast!Breakfasts were delicious with so many options. The main entree varied ever day - scrambled eggs, egg/ham/cheese McMuffins, french toast, egg burritos, etc. Also available every day were muffins, breads, fruit, yogurt parfaits, oatmeal, cold cereals, and make your own Belgian waffles. The friendly staff at breakfast were also amazing - they kept everything replenished and so clean. At most Marriotts where they serve complimentary breakfast, you can expect a limited repeated menu and a complete free-for-all where things get very messy and no staff coming through to do anything (replenishing or cleaning) unless you go search for them or the breakfast is over. This Marriott WAS NOT LIKE THAT at all! They have a wonderful outdoor area with a pool (which even has a wheelchair lift!), great comfy seating areas, and a fire pit. This area is also kept extremely clean. The glass tables always looked as if they had just been cleaned and I even noticed a staff member literally wiping down every single trash can! The fire pit is usually just lit at night (wonderful!), but one cool morning we asked and it was immediately turned on for us!We had the opportunity to meet Hector Santa Cruz, the general manager who obviously sets the tone for excellence at this location. He is very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our choice of this particular Marriott, highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom suite that was perfect for our family of 5 on our vacation. The room was very clean and comfortable, and having all the extra space was so nice. The kitchen was great and we used it for preparing lunches to take with us to the beach and other activities. There was plenty of free parking. We loved the basketball court on site. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We will definitely stay here again!
The Residence Inn John Wayne airport in Irvine is very conveniently located to the Irvine business center and Irvine spectrum, as well as University of California Irvine and areas in Tustin and Newport Beach. Very convenient to the airport and (one thing thats very important) is it is not under the airport flight path like some of the other in the area. They allow pets, breakfast is free, and so is parking. This is important especially if you are traveling on a business or personal budget. Who wants to pay for parking?
We stayed a week and the room was very comfortable, but dated. The hall way looked as if it hasnt been updated since the 80s, but the rooms were probably updated 10 yrs ago. Still, the room provided us with everything we needed. The bathroom has been totally remodeled and was beautiful. The elevator was FAST and we never had to wait. The front desk and staff were great too. We will stay there again due to the location being right near family and the ease of the airport. The free parking is also an added bonus and there werent any extra surprises at check out.
This is the best Residence Inn I have stayed among all cities. The front desk staff is among the most friendliest, especially among city hotels. Even the staff which takes care of house keeping are extra ordinary, my stuff was arranged very nicely on a towel near sink. Living area and Bathroom all clean and well maintained. Breakfast is superb with lots of variety and fresh. If I am in Irvine area I will stay in this hotel again.
The suite was so delightfully comfortable and adorable, honestly, I really wanted to spend most of my time there rather than attending conference meetings. To be fair, I also just enjoyed the privacy (getting away from the chaos of home). AND, Ive taken many trips away and had many opportunities to stay in a variety of hotels and this was the first time I actually thought it would be nice to share it with someone. Given the nature of my trip (conference) I didnt get to really track where we were in terms of what to do outside the hotel but we were able to walk to a few excellent restaurants, were close to the airport and the beaches with a car for 10 - 20 minute drives.
It was no more expensive than their short term hotel at the time that I booked it, but I got a large room with full size refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishwasher, and stove top.Bed was comfortable and pillows were better than most hotel pillows.Thermostat did what I asked it to do.Really nice, helpful staff. Friendly guests.Fantastic breakfast every day and a mixer with free food and drink Monday through Wednesday evenings.I did not have a bathtub which was a disappointment to me and there is no real convenience store within walking distance. They have a little cupboard-pantry with some really overpriced chips, soda, beer, wine, aspirin, toothbrushes, etc.No restaurant or bar in the hotel, but three places with food within easy walking distance in property parking lot.
My family and I just wrapped up a six week stay at this property. Location of the hotel is in a nice area with easy access to the 405. There are a couple of restaurants across the parking lot for easy food.I was impressed with the outside hotel grounds and how frequently there were maintained and cleaned.Inside the building is well maintained with a modern lobby. Rooms are standard Residence Inn rooms similar to other properties in the chain. The staff is what makes this property shine. Both the front desk, especially Rachel, and breakfast staff were very welcoming and pleasant everyday. Any maintenance or housekeeping needs that we mentioned during our stay were addressed promptly. We would highly recommend this hotel to extended stay business travelers or families needing some extra space during their stay.
My second stay after 3 years. Business trip so had to stay here again. They gave me a room at top floor overlooking the pool, so it was noisy at times when children would play in pool. Windows provide almost no noise isolation.Liked:Hotel is clean. Service is good. Everyone at reception desk is very friendly and helpful.Kitchen in suites is very convenient.3 days a week they have free snacks/drinks after 6PM (grilled chiken fillet one day saved my dinner).Beds are comfortable but feel a bit worn out.Parking spots are large and there are sufficient parking spots.Disliked:Breakfast is very poor (no fresh salad like tomato) and no fresh bread every morning. Scrambled eggs are from the powder. I stayed for 19 nights and skipped breakfast majority of days and just made my own breakfast in my room.TVs in rooms are outdated, old models where you cant plug in your own USB and watch your own stuff. I had to use HDMI cable and connect laptop and watch like that. They provide HBO and Youtube, but its really slow when loading and changing videos since TV is old and slow.Pets friendly, so dogs everyhwere.
I was expecting a little bit more from a Marriott property than we received on this particular visit. Upon checking in, there were no luggage carts available even though we were checking in pretty late (7pm) and there werent other guests checking in. This could only mean that staff hadnt retrieved the luggage carts from the various floors where guests had left them. So we had to make a few trips to get everything from our car. As we all know covid has drastically changed the hotel experience. As a rule, we pack Clorox wipes and lysol spray. We make sure everything is clean prior to unpacking anything! It was a good thing that I did because so many things were unclean. Starting with the refrigerator! The handles were dirty as well as places you would normally touch like the inside of the door. The top of the fridge was covered in dust. The microwave was dirty as well. The sofa bed was useless. These sofa beds by nature arent the best. However, this one was particularly bad. You might as well just sleep on the mattress springs themselves! We folded the bed up and just slept on the sofa. The bed was serviceable. But it wasnt comfy like many other Marriott locations we have stayed at in the past. The next morning, I called the front desk staff to get soap. The front desk staff left me on hold for five minutes. So I just put the phone down and went downstairs. When I got there, only one young lady was there. She was trying to check in guests, answer the phone, and assist guests who were asking for various items not found in their rooms. When it was my turn, I let the young lady know that I was left on hold for an extended amount of time. She apologized and I requested the items I didnt have in my room. I told her she should have the other guy (that was sitting in the back office) come help. She was obviously overwhelmed with the rush. She was very polite and was doing her very best to multitask. Perhaps the hotel was short staffed because of immense loss of revenue during the pandemic. In any event, I would expect better from Marriott. I gave 3 stars only because of the young lady working so hard to keep up.
Loved my stay here! Spent some time by the fire with my love, they have THE BEST staff! Ive never felt so welcomed at any hotel in my life before and I travel a lot. Breakfast was really good, rooms were beautiful and spacious, the showers have good water pressure, the beds are between firm and soft... very clean facility. Ill definitely stay here again.
I enjoyed staying at this hotel and I would stay again. Pros of the hotel include the friendlyness and helpfulness of the staff, the convenience of an included breakfast and no-charge parking, and being closed to the freeway. The area surrounding it is nice and clean. I took advantage of the pool and it was nice (except that I thought it was heated and it wasnt; the jacuzzi heating pump was broken during my stay). More pros: the bathroom quality and materials is impecable with the remodel quality, the kitchen in the room gives you everything you need to self-service in the room, sofabed for children. Cons of the hotel: requested feather free and a baby crib, both were NOT ready upon my arrival and had to be requested again after check-in, the comfort of the king size bed and pillows did NOT give me a good nights rest, they were uncomfortable. Next time Ill consider asking for a different type of bed and extra-foam pillows. More pros is that the staff is very nice, helpful and very nice with anything you need. I forgot my toothbrush, they had one for me upon request. And my biggest kudos goes to the staff at Check-in that helped me correct a billing error, as well as the staff in the breakfast area. They were constantly adding food to the buffet and removing dirty dishes from the tables to continue movement and have tables ready for the next guests.
My recent stay with my wife and I at Residence Inn at Irvine John Wayne Airport / Orange County was very disappointing and disgusting due to dog poop on several areas of the hotel premises. In addition, we were able to smell dog odor on our bed and pillows. I will never again reserve at Residence Inn if I am aware the hotel location is pet /dog friendly.
This location was wonderful for my family’s Disney/shopping trip. The location was wonderful, serene and quiet. The fire pit at night during happy hour was picturesque. The breakfast was surprisingly amazing. The room accommodations were perfect for my family of 5. Super comfy beds, sofa bed not so much, but we made do. The staff are the shining stars here. Very warm and attentive. We found ourselves at Irvine Spectrum Center often with the wonderful options they have for dining, shopping and entertainment. This hotel was only a 10 minute drive away from that mall and 15 minutes away from Disneyland during rush hour. Needless to say, I will definitely be back to stay at this location. =)
Dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever seen. Food and crust stuck to the tables that could have easily been wiped down. Crumbs all over the kitchen and Dodo stains on the curtain Truly disturbing being that we are in a pandemic! Housekeeping makes it very clear that they do not clean they just try to make it look “clean”. Posting pics of the room for people who value hygiene don’t stay here !
We had been traveling a few days and stayed at other locations other than Marriott. We were exhausted and needed a good night sleep so we chose Residence Inn . It did not disappoint They had everything we needed and then some . Very comfortable bed and pillows. It was clean and staff were all friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was hot and ready. Though we didn’t use the pool and patio area it looked very fresh, clean and inviting!
Stayed here for a week on business. No room service after 5 days. The hotel is still charging top dollar for rooms and providing no service! Showed up Friday night, no carts available, course the person in front of me asked and they called and got her one, when I asked they said none are around.
I have stayed here in the past and was happy with my stay so I decided to try it again. I am happy to report that I am very satisfied with my stay. I think this is a great Residence Inn. Last time they were having a problem with a door leading out the back stairwell to where I like to park. This time it was fixed and working just fine. This shows the care that the staff has in the property. The breakfast was good and the facility was clean. I will stay there again when I am in the area.
Cheerful and cozy hotel with excellent customer service. We arrived during social hour and enjoyed a pleasant gathering with a variety of delicious snacks. The atmosphere was welcoming and the girls loved hanging out around the beautiful firepit. The rooms were clean, large and quiet. I closed the bedroom door and wasnt disturbed by the girls giggling and playing in the next room. I will definitely be back!
The staff are professional and friendly and highly accommodating. The hotel was clean, well kept-up, and had a great outdoor patio/pool area for outdoor dining and relaxing. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the overall feel of the place was really nice. Its in a great location, close to the San Diego Creek Trail, which goes out to the ocean. I loved biking this trail every morning! Youre only a few miles from the beach, and the place is very reasonable. I would definitely stay here again.
I cant say enough about the friendly staff at Residence Inn OC Airport. I was displaced from my house with my pets. Everyone made me feel welcome, even though I had 2 dogs. My room was comfortable and felt like home. It was nice to have a stove and cookware, so I didnt have to eat in restaurants. Overall, I would highly recommend this great hotel!
We arrived to a a 2 bedroom suite for a conference across the street since our families are with us. The hallways felt old & dirty. The suite was comfortable however the couch was dusty, dirty, and old. Our kids have asthma so it triggered it during the stay. Please use leather couches if you don’t keep on cleaning the cloth couches. The rooms were neat & comfortable. We love how it was a full kitchen. Too bad the evening happy hour is only held 3 days a week. We had to go across the street for some happy hour to Hotel Irvine. Overall the location is great. The hotel is near the airport, grocery stores, and freeeways. Great place to stay if your kids don’t have allergies.
My stay was very comfortable. Breakfast was sufficient and housekeeping were early enough that i can enjo the rest of the day without interruption. However, it would be great if they remind pet owners to pick up after their pets as if they are at home. dog poops were literring the parking or wherever there is a patch of grass and the smell of them wreaks. i parked by the curbside the night before and i have to tip toe on my way out the next day because of fresh poop that was not picked up. i guess these vacationers are also taking time off on their pet ownershiop responsibilities.it would be nice also to at least provide hand soap by the sink. i have to pump some off the shower gel to use.
Checked in on a Thursday night for a wedding the next day. Check in went smoothly and the room was spacious. There was a fridge and cooktop, hot water, soap, shampoo, body wash. The only things missing were sponge and dish soap but they bought them up along with more towels. Breakfast was really good but busy, workout room was small but efficient. Never found the location of the stairs on the first floor and would have liked the option instead of relying solely on the elevators. Overall good experience and lots of shops in the surrounding area.
WE had a great stay except for those sleeping on the sofa beds. IT might be ok for a child, but as adults it was VERY uncomfortable. We got extra blankets to help with padding, but it just didnt help much. Everything else. was great. Nice clean rooms, great breakfast. And very courteous service.
Everything was absolutely amazing. The hotel exterior and interior is beautiful. The location is great. There is a souplantation in the same parking lot that the residence inn is in so we did that. Me and my family love souplantation. All the staff at the hotel that me and my family came across were super friendly. The breakfast was more than good especially for being a complimentary breakfast. I will definitely be coming back soon with my family again! Grant, thank you for checking us in, you were great!
This hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I needed a place to go with my dog to get away from the fireworks in my home city. We both felt very relaxed here. The kitchenette is great for our situation and the grounds are wonderful. Weve done this 2 years now and plan on returning next year.
We are Marriott rewards members and therefore I try to book Marriott when we travel. This was however our first stay at a residence inn. In particular this all suite hotel is very well kept, modern up to date suites, spacious, very clean, well equipped and functional kitchen and extremely comfortable bed and soft cushy pillows ( and I am very picky) . Both my husband and I slept well. Nice view of pool area from our room. Pool area was pleasant- umbrellas and tables available as well as ample supply of towels. Pool is welll maintained. Free and ample outdoor as well as underground parking available-- a big plus! Included hot/ cold breakfast items everything from hot cereal to eggs, potatoes, sausage patties or sliced links, fresh fruit, make your own mini waffles etc. highly recommend for families. Also they do allow small dogs for a flat rate. May or may not be an issue but if you have severe allergies you might ask if there are pet free rooms. No bother for us it was fine. Overall this will be our new go to place whenever we come down to Irvine to visit our son and his family! (55357)(56397)(55357)(56397)(55357)(56397)(55357)(56397)(55357)(56397)(55357)(56842)
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. The beds were super comfortable (even the sofa bed according to my 17 year old grandson) Breakfasts each day were varied and gave lots of options. It was so nice to have a full kitchen available for teenage midnight (and all day) snacks. The laundry room was conveniently located and the machines were nice and new. If you have an extended stay I highly recommend this home away from home.
My first stay with a Residence Inn. I found the room to be quite inviting with a great layout. Kitchenette was fully stocked with everything required to make basic meals [Pots, Microwavable Bowls, Plates, Knives/etc] Dishwasher as well. Other places I have stayed have required an additional fee for these items, so this was a welcome change. There is also a grocery store within a 5 minute walk, which was great.Very convenient to get to/from airport. My departing flight was tight as far as when my training ended and when I needed to be at the airport, but since its only about 10 minute drive, I had no issues making it on time. All the staff I dealt with were friendly, courteous and competent, and I had no issues during my stay.Should I return to Irvine, I will definitely stay again without bothering to look elsewhere.
Wonderful staff, comfortable room, and delightful breakfast. Perfect for families who want to barbecue in their outdoor area while playing basketball or swimming in their pool. Suites were well stocked and beds were comfy. 20 minutes to Newport or Laguna beach. Will return again for sure!
Always a joy to stay at any Marriott property! The staff is always professional and courteous. The amenities are top notch. The hotels are always well designed and comforting. Overall, the hotel was always clean in the common areas. The room service was excellent! I will always choose Marriott.
Our 10u baseball team had a terrific stay for the second year in a row at the JW Residence Inn. The fire pit and pool area are so cozy and the whole outdoor area was a terrific place for our group to congregate and relax after a day at the baseball fields. The boys loved the pool and basketball court to continue their comraderie and the parents lounged at the fire pit surrounded by strings of Edison lights strung around the tall palms above us. We went to a nearby carniceria and enjoyed a BBQ by the pool. Free internet, free parking, free breakfast, dog friendly policy — everything was absolutely perfect for a memorable baseball tournament trip. The only thing I would ask for is more comfortable sofa beds. We had families of 5 who struggled to get a good night’s sleep. Perhaps some updated sofa bed accommodations would be called for. Otherwise, everything was terrific!
Hotel is always clean and well-maintained, staff is very friendly, accommodating to any needs. Breakfast staff could use some work, walking around speaking loudly in Spanish the entire time I was eating. It was a bit rood and I think inappropriate. Food could have been maintained a little better, seemed like the staff just wanted to do the minimum. I stay exclusively at Marriott when I travel and feel I have a good basis for comparison.
I am a frequent guest at this Marriott and other properties and the staff at this location is just amazing. The property is kept up and the breakfast is great. The elevators get a bit messy during busy months, kids coming and going from the pool, etc. What is amazing is the staff! Nancy was lovely and checked us in. Later, our son got lost and was found within minutes. Rachel kept me calm and handled other stressed out travelers as well during our stay.
I do not like staying at hotels that are being renovated. While the hotel will say the renovations are not disruptive, they are. The first impression when you walk in the front doors sets the tone. The temporary lobby is tiny and cluttered. You then walk through the renovation zone to get to the elevators and temporary breakfast area. There are temporary walls up and it is dusty and dirty. The renovation also affects the breakfast area. The room is tiny with no place to eat. My room appeared to be upgraded. It was comfortable and well appointed. There is a nice area in the courtyard with a fire pit, BBQ, pool and basketball court. The breakfast room was crowded and messy. On a weekend with a large number of families staying, additional staffing was needed. There were always things out. In an already crowded room, people were standing around waiting for more food to be brought in. Due to renovations, there was no place to eat.Had I known renovations were going on, I would not have stayed here. There are so many options in Orange County. Im happy that the hotel is renovating as it is necessary, but you need to let people know on the website. Had I stayed prior or after the renovations, I know I would have enjoyed my stay. I would stay away until the renovations are complete. Once they are done, I suspect it will be a great place to stay.
Ive stayed at this Marriott a few times, and Ive always had a good experience and have given it good ratings. This stay I had one evening when returned to my room, to find that room service forgot most of my room. The bed was unmade, the pillows were on the night stand, and some of the towel had been replaced with clean ones, while other were missing. The towels normally for the shower werent there. I took a picture of the unmade bed and went to the front desk. Of the two guys behind the desk, the one pointed me to other. He looked at the photo, looked up my room number and apologized, then told me he was going to issue me 5000 points for my inconvenience. That never happened. Not a big deal, but please follow through. One of the night, I called the front desk for a wake up call. The guy working the desk, picked up the phone, took my room number and told me he would call me back. Never did. This wasnt the first time. In a previous stay, same person said he would call me back. Never did. I use my cell now.Even though there were a few things not to the normal standard of a Marriott, I wont let that stop me from staying at this hotel again.
On April 23rd mu wife and I spend the night there. At the ti of booking and the check in clearly says free breakfast. The next morning we wen to get breakfast, my wife took a seat and got inline to get breakfast. It was a lady in front of that order the number 1 and two bananas then it was my turn, I told Maria I want two yogurts and two bananas, Maria replayed. Per my manager and company policy I can only give you one yogurt, really well then just keep it. The next person after me, ordered a bunch of stuff. No question ask? Neither of these people were hispanic So it looks to me me that if you’re hispanic Mexican to be exact you only get one yogurt to share with your other half.
I had to stay in Irvine for a 5-month business trip with my 2-year-old daughter, and we stayed at this property. It had everything we needed, and it was in a pedestrian-friendly and quiet area. Our room was very modern, clean, and comfortable. Everyone working at this hotel was very pleasant to deal with, and they became like close neighbors. I would definitely stay there again.
Couldnt have asked for more friendly, helpful and efficient staff. The hotel was really clean, the rooms were very spacious, clean and the amenities are excellentI would stay here again in a heartbeat. Breakfast was great and the servers were very good!Second year staying here for a water polo tournament weekend and the kids really were treated very well also. Will definitely stay at hotel again for next years tourney!.
Really gross hotel overall. The place is over run by guests that have at least one dog if not two dogs. These dogs are peeing all over the elevator floors, lobby floors and the carpet in the hallways and the rooms. The place stinks of dog urine. I even saw flees which would be expected from a dog kennel they call a hotel. I used to like staying here but it has been going down hill for a while now. The place is dated and needs a complete remodel of the rooms. They remodeled the lobby but that does nothing for the rooms. Take my advice and steer clear of this hotel as it is more of a dog kennel than a hotel now. I would give it zero stars if I could as I hated my stay here.
Door knobs in the room are falling apart and everything creaks very loudly. This hotel looks great on the outside but looks like a run down motel inside the rooms. We have never stayed at a Marriot with such old interiors. This does not meet my standard of excellence earned by all other Marriotts weve stayed at. Breakfast during quarantine is a sad combination of pastry and tiny container of yogurt. I know they can do better, but its clear theyre trying to save money by not maintaining things that wont bother people enough to file a complaint since the stay is short. The turf for dogs to go potty is littered with dried and shriveled poop from irresponsible owners. Their outside courtyard is gorgeous and like an oasis, that was the only upside of this Marriott location. Plants are well maintained and are the complete opposite of the state of the rooms and turf.
We had a great experience with good costumer service with all of the employees. The showers are amazing and the rooms overall are pretty great. The beds are hard if you like that but it was not that bad. Mainly was just not happy that we missed breakfast one of the times. Wish it lasted till 10am every morning.
I worked for Marriott for 14 years and have stayed in numerous Marriotts around the world and NONE have exceeded in the service and pleasant experience we had at the Residence Inn, John Wayne Aiport on Main St, Irvine, CA. Hector, the GM, has truly put together a fabulous staff, again second to NONE.While it is impossible for me to remember all the names of the wonder staff, I would like to give recognition to those who we seemed to interacted with the most coincidentally. At the front desk, Stephany, Gaby and Karen were there our entire stay and could not of been nicer, more efficient and professional. Although Justin and Ethan were there a much shorter time, they also were excellent. The kitchen staff were amazing. Not only was the food good, but it was always hot and the serving area clean as was the eating area. They truly worked together as a team to make this all happen. The ones we interacted with most and would like to recognize were Maria, Mercedes, Rachel and especially Gigi, who we adore and made our day every morning.Others that come to mind we eserve credit were Jacob, Alex and I should mention all house cleaning staff who we shared elevator rides with quite often. They always had a smile on their faces and greets us with friendly hellos. The entire experience could not have have been better.
This stay was absolutely awful. I requested check in be at 3, and they told me it was guaranteed at 4, so I was fine with that. However, I got to the hotel and they told me my room wasn’t ready yet and they would call me as soon as it would be. I asked them approximately how long it would be, and they told me they had no clue. How can you not give me an ESTIMATE on when my room would be ready? We ended up checking in at 7 PM which is 3 hours later than they told us. I went into the room and one of the bathroom light was broken, so I went down to complain but they told me there was nothing they could do until the next morning. I told them it was fine and to just fix it when we checkout. The next morning at 8 AM, someone knocked on our door continuously while we said to come back. They then proceeded to come in - what a huge disruption to our sleep and privacy. 5 minutes later, we got a call from thw front desk telling us it was maintenance - even though we said it wasn’t a huge deal and told them to come after we checked out. This stay was absolutely awful and I would not recommend it to anyone. The room was nice and spacious, but I would go to a different residence inn location.
My husband and I stayed for a week. I had surgery and the staff was very accommodating, even providing a wheel chair upon my return from the hospital. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly during our interactions and the cleaning staff was top notch! The complimentary breakfast were great; there was a nice variety of items to choose from each day.
We were pleasantly surprised at this hotel. It has recently been updated and the rooms are large and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. The pool area was well kept up and great for a quick swim. There is also a large area with fire pit and chairs for groups to gather in the evening. The parking was easy and there were many available spaces.
My dog and I needed a safe home away from home over the 4th of July holidays. With fireworks being legal in our city, we needed to get away because my dog is scared to death of the noise. Your hotel is in a firework-free city and your dog-friendly atmosphere was perfect. We enjoyed our stay and the calming influence of everyone there. The kitchen made it easy for us to prepare meals and the hotel location was perfect to go for walks. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Thank you so much! We will be back again over any upcoming holidays where fireworks will be going off in our neighborhood! :)
Very homey! Family and I really liked the plant decorations on the bedside corners, vintage car model on the shelf, and so forth. These little touches just made the studio seem like an apartment, a stay away from home. Also, I love the tea tree shampoo and conditioner, its tingly, its refreshing, its in a bottle stuck to the wall, its awesome. Overall pool and patio area is also very nice with warm string lights and variety of table and chairs with a bbq station. Breakfast is pretty great. Hot waffles, many different strips, sausages, biscuit, gravy, scrambled eggs, cereal and so forth. Combined with free parking (I believe) I have no major complaints.
All the ladies on the that worked Monday morning were extremely pleasant. The maintenance people need work harder with keeping the grounds clean, especially near the pool area. The exit door which leads out into the corridor by the exercise facility room, I recommend maintenance to pressure clean the sidewalks leading to the parking lot, its really dirty/nasty. The carpet in my room had a very bad odor and the bathroom had hair on the floor from previous guest and I can go on but Im not... This property is the least maintained Marriott property that Ive stayed.
Good hotel, clean and well-maintained. Good location in Irvine, near many shops and restaurants. Only negative experiences I had: 1, seems the hotel is understaffed in the evening with only one staff member for the entire hotel. When we checked in, had to wait a while because of another guest in front of us, also when we made a request for towels we were told to come down to the desk because the person couldn’t leave the desk. 2, this was somewhat beyond the hotel’s control, but breakfast was too crowded and other guests seemed to be hogging seats and tables for far longer times after they finished eating. Also, one guest had a dog in the breakfast area, which I would have hoped wasn’t allowed but hotel staff didn’t seem to mind.
Daily hot water in the beverages area were not available. When asked about it, the staffs refused to refill the hot water container. The morning Kitchen Staffs were hostile, unprofessional, unfriendly, disrespectful, and rude. They created unhealthy and hostile environment for the guests to against one another. The Front Desk did not comply to my request for room cleaning. I had to make a second request. The property was nice and presentable.
Excellent checkin procedure and breakfast, Excellent pet hotel but the couch in the suite I got sinks as I sit then takes me to a near fall. The chaise squeaks every time I move. Problem its a bed and needs some tender loving care. There are dings in the fridge and a few low end repairs. The toilet (fixed) roars like an engine when I flush and takes a while to simmer down. The cleaning service is very acceptable. I was surprised when I returned after a long day. Still though I was unable to sit on the couch as I mentioned to the morning staff of the problems. I then let the evening staff know. A message was sent to visit the room to see what can be done tomorrow. I suggest a new toilet and a new couch after all I am here for 12 days. There really is no excuse for this experience. Pool, jacuzzi, sport area, lounge, barbecue area are very nice. So far only the couch and toilet roar are quite uncomfortable.
I was in town for three nights attending Natural Products Expo West and although Irvine was about 45 minutes away from the Convention, your hotel was peaceful and quiet. Front desk attendants Hope and Ethan were very helpful. Hope picked me up from the airport, helped me download Uber on my phone and was very warm and friendly. Ethan made dinner reservation for me at Andrelis and because of National Restaurant Week, I received excellent food, plus a glass of wine and desset for a very reasonable price.Food at the hotel was hot and you had great variety. Its good because I was never able to eat at the Convention, so having a filling breakfast was helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to others, and will stay here again if I return for business or pleasure. Thanks so much for everything!
Using the mobile app, I checked in the day prior to arrival while requesting extra towels, pillows, blankets and a room preferably located on a high floor. While those are all Simone requests, I also put a 12p arrival time, and showed up even earlier. I walked in, to ask if there was a chance our room was ready, and the friendly front desk staff said yes, and that they did see my requests via the mobile app! Marriott truly makes it too easy to communicate and work with the property - I cannot wait to come back!
We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite with a kitchen and two televisions. Very clean and comfortable! Great breakfast choices. Near Santa Ana airport so easy to get to. We went to Newport Beach for dinner which was awesome and then to a wedding in Newport beach the next day. Everything went well! I would surely go back to this hotel!
Easy access to freeways and local malls. Clean and updated the staff is very nice. My room was cleaned and made up every day by the time we had finished breakfast. I will say that for hu***s this is a very nice place they just really do not want you to bring your pet.
Our stay at this location was excellent. I spent a lot of time researching locations online on various review sites and this provided everything we needed for a team to stay from 4 - 8 days comfortably. Hotel is updated, in great area, small shopping center in walking distance with groceries, pharmacy, food options, gas, carwash... and nice.Hotel is spacious, has really nice grounds: updated and clean patio with firepit, lots of tables with umbrellas or trellises, sports court and Huge BBQ. We spent many a night BBQ as a team, sitting by the fire pit, swimming, playing basketball etc. Great memories. We were at one point one of three teams there over the weekend, but during the week the only team, so very nice. We shared the BBQs with other teams when there and all got along very well. Enough space for all.Staff was excellent and super accomodating. They helped with a ready smile for any request or need. They offered to move their owner reception in evening to tables away from BBQ once we told them we were planning on BBQs as a team that night. No questions. Just great super helpful staff.Clean, nice, updated, great stay and experience.
This property is an excellent play to stay for business or pleasure. After a long flight from the arctic North, the front desk person greeted us warmly and checked us in quickly while providing details of what the hotel offers. The hotel staff are professional in appearance and were attentive to needs. We enjoyed the free wi-fi, awesome hot breakfast selection and spacious room suite. I would recommend this property to my family, friends and business associates. Please fix the pool so our group can enjoy it in the future. Thank you!
I travel for business and usually stay out for 10 - 12 days at a time. It is really nice to have a room with a couch, real dishes, dishwasher and a table. Having a full size refrigerator with a freezer is nice too. It is not hotel living, but is a small apartment in a community setting. I dont feel so far from home when I can stay at one of the Residence Inns across the country. I have stayed at many this past year and have enjoyed my stay at all of them. Home away from home.
I love this hotel. I think the complimentary breakfast buffet was a huge plus. The studio room I got was lovely. Was clean and a great place and the surrounding area was amazing a Ralph’s two blocks away and shopping centers near by too. I would love to come back here.
I have been to many Residence Inns in my time and this one is definitely up there as one of the best. The rooms and lobby are very up-to-date and trendy, with a mid-century modern vibe. The staff are always nice and friendly, all of them! My grandparents stay often and the staff are always super nice and helpful and accommodating. This Residence Inn is also very close to the airport and many conveniences. I highly recommend this hotel for short, and long-term, stays.
I was pleasantly surprised at the great location of this property. Great room on 7th floor. Folks at housekeeping must have amazing job security to know they can get away with poor perfor***ce. I really like the staff and they have been great. Much cheaper if you dont have a car.
We stayed over the 4th of July and had a great experience. The size of the room was great. Clean rooms well kept in between our visits. The staff (especially Justin) was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Top it all off with great service and you cant go wrong.
We have stayed at this location several times but this year during Covid we expected a clean room which was not provided. The built-in shampoo and conditioner receptacles were empty and our towel bars were falling off the walls and we were not told that you are still serving boxed breakfast to guests Throughout our six day stay
Overall, the location and upkeep of the hotel was exceptionally good. I enjoyed our family stay and we had booked three rooms for all of us. The only complaint our family had was about the breakfast because they did not have bacon. They had eggs, sausages, tortillas, yogurt, fresh fruits, etc. but NO bacon. The kids were complaining about not having bacon, as well.
I always stay here when I am on business. The lobby and breakfast area have just received a face lift. Staff is warm and friendly. Room is large and well equipped. The fitness center is small but functional. It has one elliptical, one bike, two treadmills, and a weight bench (and free weights). I love the outdoor patio area and the large fire pit. This hotel also has nice landscaping and has several nice restaurants and a grocery store near by.
Although this particular Residence Inn is in a very nice area of Irvine, the personal services and cleanliness of the furniture leave a lot to be desired. Staff was asked on two occasions to clean some stains found on the sofa, but it was never cleaned. On four occasions I asked to have towels delivered to my room, but I only received the towels on one of the four requested days. Bottom line, I would think twice about staying at this property!
Accommodations was pure cleanliness and comfort. I was not feeling well and the receptionist was able to find a room to accommodate us. The bed was sooo comfortable that I rested for 10 hours. I have a latex foam bed at home and this comes almost comparable. Quiet, calm and at ease I rested. Bathroom and shower gave the added touch after I felt better. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for families, couples and business. Wide screen TV and state of art kitchen. Will return.
Overall this hotel is amazing! The minute you walk in you are welcomed by amazing staff. The location is down the street from the John Wayne Airport but I couldnt hear a single airplane unless I was outside enjoying the amazing pool. I only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy our kitchen in the room. Our hectic softball schedule that weekend didnt leave us much time to enjoy a lot of the hotel but its surrounded by great restaurants. We will definitely be booking this hotel again in the future!
The place is beautiful and I loved the selection at breakfast that was included. When we first got to our room, the toilet was broken and spelled terrible like sewage l. We had to switch rooms. The rooms were very comfortable. Upon check out is when I was displeased. I was told that I was to receive back pretty much none of my security deposit back due to the room smelling of smoke. I had a 2 year old with me and am strict about ANYONE smoking around my child so I KNOW for a fact that no one smoked in the room. My childs father smokes outside and as most people know, smoke stays in your clothes, hair and pretty much anything on you, so it may have traveled with him. I personally do not smoke cigarettes or ANYTHING so I would be able to tell if I smell smoke odor due to the fact that I am rarely around it. It didnt smell of smoke, it just didnt smell fresh due to the fact that there is barely enough trash container space and the fact that my son had had an accident in the bed that I had told them the night before which they brought me new bedding but didnt offer to make the bed or take the old linen which sat there all night.
Value for your money would’ve been great, if the place was clean and well maintained. Too many things to list, however, the cleanliness of this hotel completely missed the mark. After a long 4th of July it would’ve been nice to be able to come to a nice, clean bed. Instead, I had to get linens from the front desk and make up the beds myself.
I love the location. The rooms are spacious. My queen studio room has a fully functional kitchenette which is fully stocked with dishes, coffee maker, dishwasher e.t.c. My only complain is major in my opinion: The beds are lumpy and very uncomfortable. This defeats the whole purpose of booking a hotel room.
We were planning a family reunion here for a day just to go to a pumpkin patch. We had called ahead of time to request our rooms be together, they said they couldn’t promise it but to call that morning of our reservation and they would be able to tell me if it was possible. I made sure I contacted them and was told that my rooms were next to each other and that they had blocked them off. When we arrived to check in we arrived at different times and in the end our rooms were not next to each other. They ended up being 4 floors apart and both at the far end of the hotel away from the elevators. Our rooms weren’t even ready when we arrived. When we got to our rooms it was still dirty and we didn’t have any soap in one of the bathrooms and there wasn’t any dish soap in the kitchen. The pull out bed was a joke and there were holes in the mattress.
My hubby and I travel alot... this has been one of our favorite Hotel experiences. The place is immaculate, the staff was great, the food was good. The rooms were very spacious and loved all of the bells and whistles. Definitely will be our 1st choice stay in the area in the future.
My husband and I staying at the residence Inn John Wayne airport for one week in February 2017. The hotel is very conveniently located right off the 405. The room was large and comfortable. A hot breakfast is included as well as free parking and no resort fee! The staff is super friendly. I was a bit apprehensive since it was an airport hotel. I was pleasantly surprised since it was so convenient to restaurants and shopping . We chose this location because it was so close to my sons apartment. I wouldnt hesitate to stay there again. One drawback is that there is no bar or restaurant in the hotel. But there are places within walking distance to have dinner and drinks. There was construction going on in the lobby but it was all covered up by a wall and door and no noise.
Check in and check out, and everything in between was great. ***** with an attractive price and freebies. I called for the shuttle, but they recommended that I take a cab or Uber and they would reimburse me. The staff was truly excellent. Key card to my room didnt work half the time.
I stayed at this location for 53 days. I had my 2 dogs with me the entire trip. Although a lot of the staff were afraid of dogs, they were very friendly and helpful when I had them with me. I appreciate that fresh coffee was available way before 6am which helped with early morning dog walking! This location was close to everything - will definitely stay here again!
This is a great location. Close to the freeway, grocery/retail area and most of all easy drive to Diamond JAmboree ( newer complex with multiple trendy restaurants/cafes. The studio unit is a good size. Breakfast is pretty decent. The staff is commendable. There are actually a couple of restaurants/eateries around the premises: Souplantation and Krave and I think Boudin. Will definitely stay here again in the future
Horrible experience! Dont even bother calling reservation or add any request. They will only disappoint you. Rooms are not dusted, cooling system doesnt work properly, They are not considered about your stay and if you have infant/child with you. We were given Playpen instead of a crib that didnt even install properly and had puke all over. If you request one make sure youre carrying a manual for one and have enough disinfecting wipes to clean not just PlayPen but the entire room! Horrible!
After a few months of hardship, losing my father and going through a divorce I was looking for a quiet and relaxing (local) getaway to celebrate my birthday with family. The Residence Inn was perfect. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Our suite was beautiful and fully equipped. We made use of the fire pit and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every morning. Our overall stay was excellent.
Ive stayed here on a number of occasions. The first thing Id like to say, is Charles (Assistant manager) is absolutely the kindest, most polite person Ive ever encountered when it comes to customer service and is largely my reason for this review.. Our room was spotless, had everything we needed and Charles assisted in many ways when we would call and make a request. We were thankful to have the gym open, however we wish the pool would be open later as my s.o would miss his chance to get in hot tub after work. I definitely would recommend this place for families, couples and business trips. Thanks again Charles for the excellent customer service!!
Suites comfortable and clean with kitchen living room with L couch and chaise, office area, large screen TV swivels from living room to bedroom almost as room divider, bathroom area spacious but only one sink, doorway closet and clothes closet with nice hangers, ironing board, kitchen stocked to be able to cook, full size fridge, dishwasher, two stove top burners. Bed very comfortable. Did not hear noise from other units.Continental breakfast items with range of choices, but ran out of some important items, sitting area large but tables not kept cleaned, doesnt have 24 hr. coffee/tea available in lobby. Fitness area clean but small for large facility. Pushbutton on whirlpool was hard to push and would lead guests to think it wasnt working if you didnt press hard and long. Actually very hot water with good jets. Pool out of commision several hours on a Friday am with sign posted about closure never removed once open and when whirlpool was open. Can swim 20 strokes across pool length so good for lap swim. Water temperature could have been warmer. During week long stay stopped having newspapers available and no shuttle to and from airport on day of departure. Front desk staff not always informed and didnt seek out answers. Housekeeping staff great, courteous, and rooms clean.Advertised tennis courts on website. Have a basketball court NO TENNIS.Few walkable restaurants in area. Need to drive to any shopping. About 30 min drive to Newport Beach for sunsets.
Hotel was well located for our stay...previous request for handicapped room was totally overlooked...experienced a power outage for two and a half days no hot water - a/c-etc. - no fault of the hotel...breakfast was really good...free parking...room rates vary quite a bit from day to day
YAAAASSSSSS!!! I had an emergency stay at this hotel due to an issue at my house and the staff were ever so accommodating. Although the hotel has been around a while, it appears to have gone through a major overhaul in recent years and I found everything to be in good repair. My room was both spacious and quiet. The front desk manager was very friendly, all the staff were
We had tickets to two shows at The House of Blues Anaheim and decided to stay here as it wasnt a long drive, put us closer to the beach, and the rates were lower than any of the other hotels in the area. The hotel is beautiful and up to date. The 2 bedroom suite was the nicest we had stayed in! The hotel is close to tons of places to eat and right off the freeway making for easy access to Costa Mesa, Newport, Tustin, and even into Anaheim. Staff was friendly and helpful! Breakfast was great. Were already planning to return.
Beautiful outside look and great location. The family drove 7 hours to check in around 1am, got a room(1king bed) with super dirty sink. And was told only other room is a queen bed room, or we have to stand not using the sink. They promised to fix it the next morning. It was not fixed until afternoon. And the manager was promising some refund on points, so far not happening. He suggested the extended stay is a compliment to the problem. This is again not true, I asked for extended stay during check-in, and the information was not on their record.Overall, I am really not happy with how they handle the issue.
We came as a quick get away for the weekend, as we live about 45 minutes away. This hotel was clean, the staff was delightful, and our room was perfect. The hotel is in the perfect central location for everything. It is about 15-20 minutes away from the beach, Disneyland, and Knotts Berry Farm. Some of Californias best shopping is 10-15 minutes away and there are plenty of awesome dining choices near by. You will have choices from fast food to five star (Ruths Chris is my favorite). It has easy access to the freeways, airport, and public transportation. The pool is perfect, fitness center was awesome, and you cant beat the breakfast. Parking is easy and free, and the hotel is pet friendly. This is a perfect place for families and business trips as it is in the heart of Irvines office buildings. We will definitely be back.
We drove for 14 hours through rain, a snowstorm and fog to get to our hotel on time with our sick daughter. We show up hours later due to the snow, exhausted only to discover our room we had paid for was given away. The woman at check in says well, theres nothing that can be done. Were sent to another hotel for the night and spent Christmas morning moving back to that hotel when the person they felt deserved our room more than we did finally vacated it. Completely unprofessional.
I didnt notice anything suspicious and or worrisome things unlike most hotels but it was all good breakfast in the morning was a great way start off my day, very nice staff, rooms were comfortable and worth the price, nice having restaurants very close especially souplation for dinner or lunch. This was an overall nice and enjoyable experience to be there. Would definetly recommend
At this site all the amenities are in place to really feel comfortable and at home! Safe location close to many of the attractions in Orange County area! How can you not like the clean room, breakfast each morning, social activities that include a couple meals and a dessert social? In this review I would specifically like to address the staff that serves at this location! They make the difference between having a clean nice location to feeling like you are really cared about during your stay! We really want them to be congratulated as they made our stay great!
Horrible check in. Showed up at 1:30am Christmas morning thanks to a snowstorm, two rainfalls and fog only to discover they gave our room away! Even though wed already paid for it plus four more nights! So they sent us, and our sick daughter to a nearby hotel. On Christmas Day, we had to go back to that hotel to check in again. Horrible way to spend Christmas! They did reimburse us for the night and gave a $25 for breakfast since we didnt get one at the hotel they sent us to. That apparently is what ruining Christmas is worth. Never again.
I was very impressed with this hotel. As is becoming way too typical, the air conditioner did not turn down low enough so that it was hard to sleep. Hotel is conveniently located near some restaurants and has easy access to the freeways. Easy freeway access in a nice upscale neighborhood.
Power outage in area affecting 24k people. Hotel didnt notify us prior to arrival even though phones were working. Didnt offer water while we waited. After 2 hours of waiting, management offered a manual check in however no power to room. Plumbing should work. No change in room rate due to a natural disaster. Breakfast in morning maybe nonperishable items, ie cold breakfast. Its 930 at night and impossible to find a 2 bedroom suite at this time of night on a Friday. Staff were completely untrained to deal with typical questions in this scenario. Im paying full price for a 2 bedroom suite that has no power. Marriot brand could do more for there guests. Very dissatisfied. They dont deserve the one star.
The desk clerk was courteous and very accommodating. As Marriott timeshare owners, we requested and received an upgrade from a King room to a suite with a separate kitchen and sitting area. It is always nice to be treated well and the Marriott staff never disappoints.
I was looking forward to a family reunion with my sons (I had not seen them for 8 months). Room I booked was unavailable, put in two rooms across hall from each other, bathtub did not work. Moved to a suite, air conditioning did operate entire time we stayed. Engineer only available during day, we had plans everyday and could not wait around for engineer. (we had a pet in the room). Staff wanted us to move rooms at 10:00 at night and that was an unpleasant suggestion after full days with my family. We had to keep door open to hallway to get cool air. Parking was an issue, a large portion of lot was blocked off. Internet connection was horrible. Overall disappointing stay at this facility.
I read a lot of reviews and felt that it was great. The hotel is across the street from a Courtyard. Very nice landscaping surrounds the property. We were downstairs eating breakfast when it went off so it wasnt frightening had we been in our room and hearing the alarm.
Hadnt stayed here before - needed a place close to the airport to catch an early morning flight. The rooms/suites are recently updated and very comfortable!! Great use of space - comfortable living room area - everything needed in the kitchen. Only wish we had more time to enjoy it! Will definitely be back when in the area! John Wayne airport is a short 5 minute drive away.
This is a great hotel, the rooms are large, clean, and well equipped. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And the location is quite conveniently located near John Wayne airport. Some nice free inclusions: free parking, free WiFi, free breakfast everyday, and free drinks and food on weekdays.
The staff at the John Wayne Rrsidence in was prompt, efficient, and very professional. They were quick to make sure that all my needs were met. The rooms were clean and well put together. The rooms as well as the rest of the hotel interior met all of my expectations pertaining to comfort and satiafaction. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that finds themselves in the Irvine area.
Thesis very close to almost everything. Our purpose was primarily for our college student. UCI is a very short drive. there is a retail complex that has a Ralphs and small shops and eateries nearby that is even walkable if need be. This is literally by the fwy. Comes with complimentary breakfast. Staff is excellent and very attentive. Rooms are very clean. Suits purpose of our trip well that we stayed here twice in 2 months.
I stayed here during my visit to Newport Beach for my daughters wedding. We stayed in a very nice suite with two bedrooms beautiful furniture large bathrooms and a kitchenette. The beds were very comfortable. service was very good here they have a large recreation room pool and sauna.
This place was a huge fail....I like Marriott and stay at their properties, but this property is so old, and needs a serious upgrade. 2 star is for the staff, everyone was pleasant and friendly. I also did have to complain about a spider in my room right above my bed, someone came up to kill it. I will not be choosing this property again, until upgrades are done.
Great location. Great staff. Good food for breakfast. Only issue is slow Internet, that resets every 24 hours, so you have to keep reconnecting every day - a problem if youre working from the hotel and it drops in the middle of a Webex call. But for a long term stay this place is hard to beat.
I would give 0 star for this but 1 star is for its front desk - they were nice. Anyway, I came to Irvine for a business trip and stayed this residence hotel for about 2 weeks, which was supposed to be about 3 weeks. However I quitted satying and got my remaining days refunded through the travel agency that works for my company. I had no choice but to go to a different facility nearby as you can see in the images I attached. After a few days passed in this hotel, I felt itchy all over my body and found some rash going on over my chest, arms and calves. So, I woke up, tried to find why, and unfortunately easily, saw some very small bug-like things on and in the bed, which were not seen before I went onto the bed for sleep, even after the room was cleaned. Of course, I took a shower before coming upon the bed. There was no reason these things be found on the bed sheet. It was weired as I dont have any allergy to anything and Ive not seen this, except India, while traveling. (Ive travelled around-the-world twice in 2011, 2015; visited more than 40 countries in my 20s.) I told this to the front and she changed the room. But the same symptom came up and found something similar again. I could not easily find any only if I got to the bed, other reason without the things on the bed, as I came here for work so I did not hang around nor go for a short trip nearby, just worked (sad lol)... Even worse, I was not the only one feeling itchy and irritation over the skin. Everyone of my colleagues said the same thing. Finally, my team leader and I decided to move to a different hotel for the rest of the days in the States. I am not sure these things are bedbugs (they called a third party company to inspect the rooms we stayed and could not find any), maybe it were some bugs like tiny ticks or fleas, or probably some dust which can make rash/itchiness or something. But it is obvious that I would not recommend other colleauges/people to stay here when they come to Irvine for a trip and this hotel should be cleaned, disinfection would be much better, of course, I know I am not the person who decides this, but just leaving my review comment as a customer. I feel kinda sorry for leaving this comment but post it for other future visitors. I had no choice but sleeping in the sofa for nearly a week, which my colleagues said better.
This hotel is undergoing massive renovations from October to December 2016. I suggest you call before booking this hotel to understand the impact it may have on your trip. Staff at this hotel is always nice, friendly and accommodating. My ratings are based on a lack of lobby, breakfast area, full market, and entrance. We
Rooms were comfortable with a nice bed and sofa. Breakfast was reasonable with toast, cereals, waffles, fruits and various cooked choices. There was juices and the Coffee was average. The place also had a pool and basketball/tennis court. It was located next to plenty of food choices so if you wanted to, you could walk or drive there.
Great, clean, big rooms. Had a full kitchen with stoves, dishwashers, and was fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and more. Also had a big work desk, plenty of lighting, and tons of strategically placed power ports everywhere. Overall, awesome room in a nice part of town.
1.) On Saturday when I checked in there where no rooms available at 4PM as was told they didnt have enough maids to handle the cleaning and that they would call me on my cell in 20-30 minutes once a room was available, never happened, an hour later I called and asked if a room was available and still no rooms, so I demanded to speak to the General Manager whom wasnt on the property, I had a 5:30PM wedding dinner to attend and no room to shower and dress in which I had to dress in my car an attend the dinner, hot, sweaty and upset at Marriott. 2.) Get a room on the 8th floor and walk in and its extremely hot, turn on AC for 2 hours never moved from 77 degrees, I walk down to front desk and talk to a young guy and told him the situation and asked for maintenance to come look at it, he tells me theirs no maintenance guys available on the property on Saturday and hell come up and look at it later , which never happened or attempted because it was still 77 when I came back to the room that night. No notice from the staff that it was even looked at. 3.) No maids, No maintenance, No General manger on the property in a sold out hotel, not a great experience for a customer that stays at this exact hotel 2 to 3 times a year, every year! You can verify this by looking into your computer system. Not happy and will check out the Hotel Irvine next door on my next visit in September.
I needed a place to stay overnight for a meeting in the area of the hotel and I feel that I got an excellent value for the rate I paid. Very clean hotel, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Breakfast was reasonable - I’d recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget looking for a good experience,
Dog friendly is good but not when no one cleans up after the animals. Iron, ice maker, stovetop did not work. Staff was friendly but too overworked to be of much help. Overall feel of neglect throughout the hotel and property. No room service and ice must be obtained from kitchen staff.
Upon arrival we found the handicap pool lift not in working order. They make no arrangements to care for it and keep children from playing on it. The handicap rooms have automatic door closers and additional door with automatic closer to go through to get there. The staff seem unconcerned with the difficulties this causes for wheelchair users. If you are handicapped do not stay here. When we told the front desk that we wanted better housekeeping service daily they just said they dont do much for longer term guests. Hey! We pay the same rate per night regardless of the duration of the stay.
As a platinum elite member weve stayed at many Marriotts, from Town Place Suites to J.W. Marriotts. Yet, this is the first time I feel compelled to write a review to commend someone for going above and beyond.I came down to the desk and said it I have an issue, and Rachel S said, with a smile on her face, Well then lets resolve it! Although this was not an issue with the hotel itself or the staff, Rachel S took the time to listen to my needs and help me get what I needed within minutes. Although I thanked her a million times in person, I want everyone else to know including Marriott executives, she is the best! :)
Residence Inn John Wayne Airport is among my top 5 hotels I have ever lodged in. The staff is courteous and always happy to assist when requested. As an elite member, my room is upgrade whenever available. Overall, me and my sons are always given a royal treatment whenever we lodge at the hotel. Great hotel!

2022-02-12The staff is GREAT! I want to make special mention of Lupe Martinez at front desk, my family’s travel plans were constantly changing, our group size kept growing daily and she and her co-workers went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. When we needed a bigger room they allowed us to move early in the morning without that horrible gap between check out and check in. Extra bedding and towels given no hassle, and the cleaning crew…ON TOP OF THINGS! Smells clean, feels clean, and you see them constantly sanitizing and cleaning the common areas throughout the day. Free breakfast and all rooms have kitchenettes. Cozy courtyard area for gatherings. Love it here would def stay again.

2022-02-20Really fantastic place to stay! Great suite with kitchen/ full sized fridge/ range top/ microwave/ dishwasher. There is a very nice continental buffet each morning. Amenities include beautiful pool, hot tub, huge outdoor grill and fire pit with lots of seating area for outdoor eating and socializing. Nice gym, pet friendly, non smoking. The staff is so friendly, and the location is super close to Huntington Beach, Newport, Balboa, Laguna, John Wayne Airport etc. We highly recommend, they were just wonderful to us!

2022-03-22Great location for what I needed to do. The room was clean however the ice machine and shower head not working properly. Shower head replace no other issues. The ice machine continued not to work.No dish detergent upon arrival and the sponge for the dishes was on the floor next to the trash can under the sink.I was told I had to request room cleaning however I didnt schedule but housekeeping was in my room.Breakfast was ok and lastly as a Honors member I did not receive welcome gifts.

2022-06-27The best advantage of staying at this place is the convenient location as it is near John Wayne Airport, Irvine, and Costa Mesa South Coast Plaza. The property is a 8 floor building with parking around the property with a basketball court and a swimming pool. It is a pet friendly place I later found out. It will be a place to stay with your furred friends but people with allergy may have a second thought. The place is decent and they serve hot breakfast in the morning.

2022-05-19Super location. Amazing rooms with full kitchenette. Great street views from higher floors and damn free parking. Add Free breakfast to it. Marriott lives it name for long term travelers like me. I always take residence inn of Marriott or another fav Hilton brand of mine which has a kitchen. I always need a kitchen.

2022-05-06Decided to share my experience. 6 night stay We needed a hotel with rooms and a kitchen. 9 month and 3 year old kids. If you need a kitchen and room then that would be the only reason I stay here. There are much nicer hotels for the price. The breakfast was below avg but convenient, eggs sausage potatoes cereal bagels fruits oatmeal juices, and you can take up to your room whatever you need. Room door doesn’t close perfectly it was a lil annoying trying to open it slowly without waking the kids. No ice in hotel, but you can make ice slowly in the fridge. Our fridge was not cold even at full blast. The A/ax is really loud, when it turns on I’m scared it would wake the kids so I had it off mostly. Cleanliness was okay. We did a full wipe down with disinfectant anyways. Hot tub was okay but pool looks a lil dirty. They say it’s heated but didn’t feel heated at all. All the staff were very friendly. For the same price I think you could find other hotels in better shape. I would only stay here if I needed a kitchen tbh. The residence in Anaheim looks in much better shape but your also paying for parking there

2022-03-19Everything started to go downhill when we asked if we could get an early check in. Before I tell you about that the front desk did try to accommodate us, that was nice. However I am disabled and I had made my reservation and asked to be put near the elevator. Room 627 is the furthest from the elevator. Next we find attached to the bag of coffee a temporary registration for a new 2019 honda. Made us concerned that the room lacked cleanliness. This was further proved out when we noticed a plate in the cupboard was coved in some kind of old cheese or something. It gets worse. The sofa pull out bed which my son was to use, who had flown to John Wayne airport from Atlantas Hartfield Airport at 4:00am this morning our time. Unfortunately the mattress on the sofa is a box spring, not a mattress, certainly not something could sleep on. And my poor son is going to have to attempt to sleep on this. Because there is not a single other room. The front desk suggested maybe a comforter, we asked to be moved but were told there are no rooms. I said I am paying for a bed, with out discount, but still after more than 30 minutes no mattress. Only to find what they dug out of your storage was left leaning against the door. Cmon Man! Theres more, no cups in the bathroom to brush your teeth with, cutlery that is insufficient to cut vegetables, a lack of pillows, towels and blankets., for goodness sake no garbage can in the vanity area or the bedroom. Only one in the toilet. I understand when you are sold out we need patience and understanding but this is a Marriot property and I have never experienced such a lack cleanliness, poor quality or old beds/mattresses and while you staff tries to put a good spin on the situation, this is unacceptable for a Marriott particularly at the price we are paying, something like $369/night and wouldnt even accept a AAA discount. I am really dissappointedsincerelyGeorge RobertsonMorro Bay

2022-03-31Ive tried many hotels in the area (Hilton and Marriott), and I found this RI to hit the right balance of professionalism and hospitality. rooms are well maintained and clean, breakfast is great and the breakfast staff attentive, and the front desk team is friendly and efficient.

2022-04-04Positive: The location as it was near to what I needed to do. Negative: I wish the receptionist would have just mentioned there were doing work on that floor. Felt like I was about to walk into AHS. Other than that nice hotel, would recommend.
