This garden is so peaceful and serene. One thing that I really enjoy about it is that you can find a little seclusion. Youll never be truly alone in the wilderness, but you can certainly experience a sense of solitude if thats what you need. There was a wedding party last time I went, but the beauty of it is that the garden is big enough that it can meet multiple needs at once. Highly recommend.Sorry I dont have the names of the plants below, hope the descriptions are helpful.
Милый парк. В парке периодически происходит продажа растений. Приятно походить по тенистым извилистым тропинкам. The Regional Parks Botanic Garden is a naturally beautiful and tranquil living museum of California native plants. Located within Tilden Park in the hills above Berkeley, California, this enchanting 10-acre garden is a sanctuary for many of the state’s rare and endangered plants and a place for visitors to wander among trees, shrubs, flowers, and grasses from plant communities throughout the state.
Among my favorite spots in the East Bay. Love to walk the paths and breathe in the nature. Plenty of benches and a glade to lie down on the grass. In spring and summer the garden is in bloom. Unique to the bay you can find plants from nearly every corner of the state (California) including a grove of Sequoia Redwoods plus Coastal Redwoods, desert cactus, chaparral, ferns, live oaks, cypress, pines, and more. People who have mobility issues may find the garden is not the best since most trails involve stairs or steep ups and downs.
3/9/2021 Open by Appointment only!Great botanical garden (Botanic). All California native species. I cant believe I had never been. Smaller than the UC Berkeley garden. We did the walk in under an hour. Highly recommended. Get a reservation first! They were turning away drop-ins.
This is a great ‘first date’ spot for romantics. Go early (they open at 8:30) to have the views, clear air, bird song and the stream all to yourselves. Later in the day is fine too, it’s never that busy. The paths wind through shaded paths thick with ferns and shrubs. Redwoods tower above. A rare gem of a place so close to the urban scene.
Ive been coming here since I was a little kid. It has only gotten better with age. Wonderful cross section of plants from all over California with many rare and endangered species. Visit regularly for a different show depending on the season. The plant sales are amazing with many rare natives for sale.
Way too dry, not many live plants to see. Never seen it like this before.. been here since 1988. So sad, historical, geological, anthropology... Everything affected by the change our planet is going thru at this time. Pretty dry in 1990, and Oakland hills burned up fast. Pray for rain!
Beautiful, quiet and peaceful, this botanical garden has many plants native to California an the area. The small paths will lead you to quiet corners where you can sit and rest, and the intertwined paths are a lot of fun for kids. It acts almost like a little maze - you never know which path will lead where and kids loved playing in there.
This park might seem daunting when you first enter. SO many different named plants, theres no way to keep track. Then you relax and figure out that the park is organized by regions within the State, and that those plants share common characteristics with each other (and with some of the other regions as well). So many different habitats represented in one place. Marvelous!! The trails are varied and well maintained. I was so captivated I had to walk almost all of the trails. Nice hike. This place is definitely worth your time and your support.
Beautiful park, I loved the tall seqouias and redwoods. Its very quiet and relaxing. It has a stream running through the middle of it and lots of shade. Combine the sounds of running water and the peaceful atmosphere and you have a very enjoyable day. Its not a large park so you could see it all in 2 hours. Well worth the trip and it is free access.
It was a little dry this time of year but nice to have a place fairly close that allows you to take a leisurely stroll in nature. There are flowers and plants of all variety set in the hills and trees of nature. The stream is a very place to listen to the water as it goes the rocks and the peaceful sounds. All in all its a great place to visit, I would recommend it. Enjoy nature and all its beauty!!
This is a wonderful place to see a large selection of California native plants. Its well organized. Most plants have a label colored coded to indicate its native region of California. All the major regions are represented: desert, mountains, coastal. Its also a very serene place with a creek running through. There are lots of benches where you can sit and just enjoy the peace and quiet.
Perfect quiet, meditative atmosphere when alone with the spectacular variety of plants and trees. Also perfect for a lively, engaging discussion with a good friend following the creek. Very satisfying to know this area exists so close to the hustle-bustle of city streets just blocks away.
Clean & quiet! They offer maps for local parks to visit. They have plants labeled and easy to read. Benches for breaks and breathers. Flowers water cactus . beautiful place to walk and clear your mind. If u have Well behaved children id say bring em. Bathrooms by parking lot. I heard the staff say they were gathering ppl for a walk tour. Peaceful spot for sure 👍
One of the nicest escapes in the East Bay is to visit the Botanical Gardens in Tilden Park. April and May are particularly nice when the flowers are blooming and everything is rejuvenating from winter.Lots of paths wind through the gardens. Just take your time and stroll aimlessly, the more detours you take the better youll enjoy the gardens.
I come here to relax and to visit wildlife. There are several different paths and scenery options. The visitors center has really great information about the garden itself, local wildlife, and the regional parks system. Staff and volunteers are also polite and offer information and fun facts. Ive brought dates here, and even had a photoshoot done. I love coming here!
One of my favorite places. This garden is devoted to California native plants and trees. It has wonderful redwoods, madrone, and other native trees. There is brush from the manzanita type coverings, a succulent section and a lot of the park is pockets of lawn separating small ponds and other site specific gardens. Through the garden runs a stream that feeds Lake Anza. This is a great place for a picnic, safe for small children and has been one of my places to get away, set up a chair or take over a bench and do some writing. It is also a good spot for a date.

2021-07-19This was a lovely place to spend an afternoon. Parking was a short walk away. There is a good bathroom nearby and admission is free. This garden was established in 1940 and showcases plants native to California. There are many quaint and magical pathways and bridges throughout. A creek runs through the middle. This is child friendly and has benches along the way to rest and appreciate the scenery. This is situated in a little canyon so there are small elevation gains. Nothing too hard and makes it interesting.

2022-04-18A living library of trees and plants from across the state of California. Some fascinating and unique specimens, strewn across a beautifully kept grounds. The staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable and kind, though note that some tours may move at a rather slow pace.
