We enjoyed our stay... Until we were charged a smoking fee, when we absolutely did not smoke in the room. When we asked for photo evidence of this they sent us a picture of my makeup smudged on the counter. It was obviously not ashes. The manager did not even seem willing to discuss the issue, they had made up their minds and that was that. This was totally unacceptable and feels like a scam.
My husband & I just stayed at The Pier View Suites for 3 days. After being on the road a couple of hours it was so nice to get text from Pier View for auto check-in that enables the suite key on our phones. No waiting in line to check in. Walking through the hall of hotel I noticed it was cleaner than most 5 star hotels and when we entered our suite it was spotless with a great layout and a clear view of ocean out of living room and our bedroom. The balcony had two chairs & a table and you could access bedroom and living room from it.We were on second floor and slept with the slider door open so we could hear the Ocean. The suite had a fully equipped kitchen open to living room. In the bathroom they had quality full size shampoo, conditioner & bath gel.We will always stay with Pier View when visiting. The beach town around it was so nice and everyone was very friendly in this quaint beach town.
I have been wanting to stay here for a few years. Booked a two bedroom suite for me and family. Great holiday get away. Weather was great, view from balcony was outstanding. Staff friendly. Even though they had workers painting the building when I arrived, they made the cleanup with little distraction. Look forward to coming back.
This place is fabulous! Right in the middle of town, you can walk to restaurants and the beach. Rooms were spacious and very clean, well taken care of. Balcony was lovely! Brandon and Jason were great with all of our questions and were very helpful with local knowledge. Very happy and will be returning!
The room was extremely dirty, the door knobs don’t work. You have to padlock the rooms. Our comforter had a huge hole and there were feathers all over. The knob you pull up to take a shower does not pull up so you get a small amount of water. We paid $400.00 for one night and it was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. The room was maybe worth $100.00. I would never recommend this place. There is never anyone at the front desk to help you, you have to call them and they come from their home. We had to wait an hour for someone to arrive just so we could check in. Very poor customer service. The room was extremely small and nothing like the pictures. We saw the pictures online and that’s what made us want to stay. Awful!
While you as a long-time Californian can most likely put Cayucos on the map, I had no idea this tiny, sleepy beach town on the Central Coast even existed until TripAdvisor suggested Pier View Suites as a place to stay for a quick weekend away from San Francisco.About 4 hours away from SF, and about 2.5 from LA. Pretty much central.4 stars definitely for the location - although the hotel is located on the (quiet) main street every apartment has beach views from a semi-private patio. I really enjoyed the lounge-style love seat on the patio.4 stars for the hotel itself - you wont get a room, youll get an apartment including a kitchen and a jacuzzi bathtub, lots of natural light and a very friendly and bright colors.The only downer is the fact that they only have queen size beds in some rooms - for the crazy amount of ~$300/night you can expect a decently sized bed at least.My recommendation is to only book at Pier View Suites if they have apartments with king size beds. If not, skip.
This place was the perfect little surfer village on the coast. The oriental suite has amazing views, is very clean and had everything you need for a proper relaxing weekend getaway. Great food steps away. Ill come back here.

Very poor customer service. Brandon who helped us was awful. The place was falsely advertised. Do not waist your money. Very dirty, small room with bad smell. When u shower, the water goes every where. Dont ruin ur vacation here. Never come back here.

This place treats customers like animals and give you the run-around when you ask for anything. The manager Brandon would not accommodate for a broken barbeque grill. This place is not worth the money. Go somewhere else.
Been staying @ Pier View since it opened , ALWAYS great service and rooms, the most relaxing place we stay @ the Central Coast, I cannot fathom the One Star reviews that I have seen..I would encourage anyone to stay here.

I had been planning this trip for a month just to arrive to the worst customer service I have ever seen. Whatever you do, do not book a room here. The rude manager was Brandon Genduilas. Dirty rooms.
This place is very nice, with the best balcony in Cayucos. It seems like they are in the process of upgrading the facility which will make it even better. I highly recommend it

2022-06-07We stayed here for our wedding week along with members of our bridal party. The hotel was awesome. Jason was so responsive, kind and accommodating, and the accommodations were great. The rooms are a good size, clean, modern, with a view that can’t be beat and a location right in downtown. We are so happy we chose this special place to stay at during our wedding week. Thanks Jason and staff!

2022-04-21Nice space. But the tv didn’t work in the master bedroom the first night and the Roku never worked so my wife had to watch her show on her laptop. The handle on the toilet was broken so the toilet kept running in the small bathroom and the door was coming off the hinges because there was no pin in the middle hinge prevented the door from closing. Definitely NOT worth the price.

2021-03-16Wow! I just wrapped up a fantastic birthday weekend. This place is amazing and is our new favorite staycation spot on the Central Coast. Never mind the gorgeous location, we are talking Disney standards when it comes to cleaning, attention to detail, and service. Shelley takes care of the place and does so with a smile (Bry is also great). Her positive attitude is infectious, and I, personally, think she deserves a raise. I will be booking our next visit today.

2020-05-05We had such a lovely time staying at pier view that we extended our stay. Service was incredible, Jason was amazing. The rooms are good (we stayed at townhouse A) but I took off a star because there was no tub and the bathrooms were a bit on the smaller side. The views of the pier are stunning, the sunsets magnificent. The beach is super close by and there is so much within walking distance of the hotel.

2021-05-24I booked my stay in April for Jun called back twice to confirm room as I never received confirmation. Per the hotel, my room was given away because it was never confirmed. When I called to find out what happened, all they could do was say sorry and explain how they couldnt understand what happened when I confirmed the room twice over the phone and gave my card info.

2018-11-18This is a beautiful place! The rooms are very nice and clean! The soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner are really good quality! We brought our dog and they were very sweet to him! When we took or dog out to the beach for the day he got an allergic reaction to something and the hotel staff helped us find a really good vet and even checked in on him when we got back! It was so nice to have them help us thru that stress ❤️ I will definitely come back here in the future!

2018-11-22Hidden gem. The view of the ocean and the sunset alone were worth staying here. The location was perfect, lots of restaurants and coffee shops too. We were surprised at how large the unit was and how well it was set up (full kitchen, etc). Everyone that worked at the hotel and at the surrounding restaurants/cafes were genuinely nice and super friendly. I felt very at home and very relaxed. We already have reservations for our next trip back in January.

2020-07-11Let me begin by saying in the Covud 19 world this place is on track. The reservation process is done via telephone and then you can check in completely electronically. An App will be sent to your phone to enter your suite and no physical contact is required. But if your an old school guy like me they are perfectly happy to meet you at the suite and provide you with an electronic key.Now the room was modestly elegant and completely renovated. The furnishings were tasteful and clean. There was a full kitchen so you dont have to go out to eat although there is quite a selection of restaurants and coffee shops to accommodate any taste.The view was terrific from the 3rd floor patio with a wonderful half dome lounge to kick back with that special someone. There was a phonograph player that is bluetooth compatible so you can listen to some tunes if you happen to get tired of the sounds of the ocean.The bed was fantastically comfortable and there was a fireplace to warm you and set the mood on the cool coastal nights.For me it was a wonderful experience and I wanted to stay another night. Unfortunately they were booked up.I will be returning for a longer stay the next time.I believe this place will meet or exceed the needs and expectations of anyone thats enjoys luxury on the coast.

2020-07-18I have to agree with the Expedia Reviewer 11 months ago. The Website promotes that the LA Times states this is a Luxury Beach hotel.Even after the recent ‘remodeling’ there are some areas that need attention. The bathroom room in Studio A is SO tiny, including the jet tub. The toilet is very low to the ground and small. There are missing wands on most of the shutter blinds. The kitchen is huge!! Could seat 4-6 people easily, but this is a 2 person room. We wanted to enjoy the unique canopy lounge on our ‘private’ patio around 5pm. However, there was a large number of guests on the patio to our left , only 2 feet away from us with no ‘barrier’ or privacy wall. One guest kept coughing and hacking on their patio for hours and we could hear their loud conversations. I called Jason, the owner, to alert him as to what we were experiencing. Keep in mind we paid $399.00 plus tax for this suite. He said ‘They could not control the behavior of their guests on the outside patios. I reminded him we need to be aware of the Corona virus spread precautionary measures and that we would not be staying a second night. Jason immediately agreed to refund our 2nd night, which was very professional.In addition, the next morning, while we were having breakfast and ALL our blinds were open (including a view of our bed), there was a young boy (around 10-12 years old) on OUR patio, in front of the canopy lounge, walking around in front of our bedroom windows, taking pictures and looking at the ‘scenery’!I opened our patio door and asked him politely “Is this your room?” He said “no” and left!! Pier view Inn Suites needs to provide more permanent privacy barriers between the patios for each of their seven suites. We felt we were in a ‘fish bowl’ and could not enjoy the outdoor patio.

2018-04-25My husband and I a great time here! The staff was super attentive and helpful. We had been planning to stay in town for months but were a little unhappy with some of the other options. But Pier View definitely gave us the honeymoon stay we wanted. Gorgeous views from the balcony, super comfy beds (I want to buy that type of mattress for myself!), and very clean. Better than we expected for sure. The manager we spoke most to, Brandon Gendvilas, was really helpful and answered our call any time of the night, and gave us some great recommendations around town. I felt we may have been too bothersome, but he was super sweet. Highly recommend staying here if youre a fan of the beach, gorgeous romantic views from your room, friendly staff, and clean and comfy rooms with cute interiors!
