Beautiful place roses and flowers all over. Theres Pathways going all through it. There is a canopy over where the ceremony would be outdoors and behind that is a waterfall. The staff here are wonderful. We got married and had a reception here. The food was fantastic the carved fruits were so beautiful. As soon as you walk into the outdoor area you can smell the beautiful flowers. Inside the reception area beautiful chandeliers. They have many different size rooms suitable for guess of 50 or 100 or more. Everything is beautifully landscaped. Would definitely recommend checking this place out if you have a conference or wedding or anniversary coming up. Theres lots of free parking. The whole place is very clean. I think youd have a great time here. These Pictures are of Pickwick Gardens. The gardens are hidden behind the bowling alley. You wouldnt know this is here if you werent looking for it.
I really liked the seating. More like bleacher seats and it was cool and perfect for a tournament venue. The Restaurant was small but the people were nice and they served good food. It is a smaller location but it was nice and well laid out! We would go there again. They had all the elements you would expect to find at a bowling alley. Food, bowling, Pro Shop...
Was here for a private event. The staff was so on point. They made every guest feel welcome and comfortable. From the bartenders to the guys handing out bowling shoes, it was warm smiles and well wishes to have a great time. The food was basic bar food: chicken fingers, spanakopita, mozzarella sticks etc., but done very well. A couple of the lanes has some issues with the keyboards being able to enter names as some keys sort of stuck, but I am sure they will fix that soon. When we were tired of bowling, there was a great area (18 and over) with a pool table to hang out. The area has electronic dart boards, a pool table, comfortable seating and Cards Against Humanity among other card/board games. This is truly a place where you could spend an entire night and have a lot of fun with friends or just meeting new people. We will definitely be visiting Pickwick Bowl to pass some time in a really enjoyable way.
Bowling Staff were very rude.Bar staff were nice! But draft beer had a bad taste. We asked for the last lane because we had our kids with us, we were told that it was Broken.10 minuets later, they gave it to another family with kids.Prices are very high! $7.50/game $5.50 shoe rental.Recommendation: Major Remodel!!!
Friendly service but when we asked what time the bar opened the attendant said 5 pm and failed to mention that the snack bar offered beer all day. The bowling alley is very small and outdated. They have a very large play room with 2 pool tables, a bunch of dart boards, and other games. The bar was very large and nice looking as well.
Always love the Pickwick. Nice lanes, excellent staff means fantastic customer service. Even the food is delicious!!! We cant get enough of this place! Well be here again! They should consider having monthly bowling packages for people like us! We would definitely be loyal customers! Thanks Pickwick and see you on Thursday!
I had a great time at Pickwick Bowl! We came for a private party so they had the whole place rented out. I am sure the experience is somewhat different if you are there just to bowl but from what I could tell it would be great either way and I am at least highly recommending it for a party! The shoes were not super comfortable but certainly did the job for our night of bowling. Womens shoe sizes run a half size bigger that usual. Lots of weight options for the bowling balls and the lanes/seating area was very clean. The bar area is much nicer than I would have expected, pretty classy for a bowling ally. The bartenders were friendly.
Terrible staff running the place. They make you wait a long time while lanes are open. Very dirty. Very smelly. Poor planning on their part, when placing people in lanes. If you are in a large group then you will have to be split up or wait a very long time to be kept together. When lanes are open. Hot and muggy inside. Manager is very mad.
We had a kids birthday bowling party here a couple weeks ago. It was lots of fun for the kids & adults alike. The food was good salad, pizza, chicken tenders & a variety of drinks. All the kids received vouchers for free bowling on their next visit, plus a real bowling pin for friends & family to autograph.
This is a wonderful venue. It will behoove you to check it out. There are different areas depending on the size of the room you will need. Long ago this whole area was a beach-type giant swimming pool. It is now landscaped with meeting and conference and event areas next to their bowling alley.A person driving by on the street would not know this existed! It is down the street from the movie studios and in a lovely neighborhood in Burbank close to Beautiful downtown Burbank as Johnny Carson used to say. Burbank is its own city so it is clean and run ever so well. Residents of Burbank know they have a good thing and one is PICKWICK GARDENS. Check it out the next time you go to PORTOS. If you havent been to PORTOS, you gotta call me for the 411 as you are missing out. They have the best fried potato balls that you pop in your mouth before you indulge in their fabulous and one of a kind pastries. You know, I must go over tomorrow. Bye--
1. One sentence review – was not expecting much but left very pleasantly surprised with this bowling alley.2. The house – I didn’t expect much at first because I didn’t know anything about Pickwick Gardens and it seemed like a weird place for a bowling alley. I’ve only come after work (6PM-ish) on week days, but the lanes always have been in good condition when I’ve bowled. I called the front desk before coming to make sure the lanes had oil and weren’t torn up, and he was very knowledgeable, polite, and answered all of my questions. It’s a small house (24 lanes I think), but I’ve never had trouble getting a lane.3. Customer service – I was pretty pleased with my experience in this department (see above), especially for a bowling alley. In addition to good service from the guy working the front desk, the rest of the staff seemed pretty attentive to the needs of everyone bowling and were able to clean up any problems (deadwood, balls stuck, etc) pretty quickly.4. They also have a pro shop and a snack bar – but I haven’t tried either yet.
If you actually like to bowl, dont come here. The Pickwick has a very stupid set of rules surrounding their bowling lanes. First of all, one of their employees is an actual Viking. On Thursday, I arrived at 8:45. I went up to get a lane for my group of 6 people. They said we would be put on the waitlist and probably wouldnt be called up to bowl until 10:45 pm. Meanwhile, there were 12 OPEN LANES. 70% of the lanes weee free. When Inquired about the many open lanes and why we couldnt just bowl one round on one of the 12 open lanes, she said Well those are reserved for the people on the waitlist. So when they get here, they get the lane. So basically, they allow people to put a 60 minute hold on a lane until they feel like arriving?? Crazy! I do not and will not ever understand such business tactics. People that are physically present want to give you cash money to use the service youre providing? TAKE IT. Will never return to Pickwick. But I will use I for a music video shoot because it looks like the perfect mix of a sad, empty, broke down, small town, ho-dunk little bowling alley.
I never knew there is a bowling center in the burbank. The prices are resonable and if you are planning to go there in the weekend, you may have to wait 30 minutes .You can use their bar which also has a pretty good menu. However, if u go there week days , there is no wait most of the time.
Bowling in LA is tough because it can be douchey and expensive. Places like the Hollywood Star Lanes are long gone, replaced by Lucky Strike, which is super expensive and filled with terrible people. But Pickwick, located in Burbank, is a breath of fresh air. Cheap as hell, good league play, and an old guy at the bar slinging beers make it THE place I like to bowl in LA without all the fuss.

2021-11-29Pickwick Bowl is one of many entertainment offerings this place has to offer. This place is just okay. It has everything you need to go bowling, but the service is a bit inconsistent. I should have taken a picture of the price list, but we were in such a rush, I had forgot to snap a pic. We called the front desk and we were quoted different prices from what was actually charged once we arrived. Either way, I would say it was reasonably priced for what you get. For $10 we were given 1 hour of bowling and shoes were included. It was also cosmic bowling night, so it was pretty neat. It’s a very retro building, and everything in there felt very old. Would make for a cool 80s night. They also have a little bar with fun saloon doors.Overall I would recommend this spot if you’re in the area, looking for something fun to do. Especially when the bowling alley at round 1 is too crowded, this is a great backup plan!

2022-06-19A bit dated, but friendly staff, a game room, cosmic bowling, maybe one day a DJ would be a fun addition.

2022-05-26Website is NOT CORRECT. Theres no open bowling on Wednesdays, only league. You cant call them on a Monday or Tuesday to learn this, no messaging option either. The person on the phone wasnt interested in correcting their website.

2020-01-02The best part about this place is that although many adults come here, it is still kid friendly. My 3 year old had a blast at the arcade. As for bowling, you can rent a dragon looking hill for $5 an hour which allows the little ones to have fun too. I dont normally bring her, but if I have to do it then I choose this place because she can totally enjoy it. The snacks are also pretty good, like the $3 pizza and the slushies. If I could give this place a higher rating I would. It is just one of those places you fall in love with and it never disappoints. The staff is a plus too ❤

2017-08-02Thanks to the pro shop operator for screwing up my thumb hole. Now I have to put up with blisters and gashes every league week. The rest of the place is just as rundown of an experience. My first time around I thought it could be worse, and boy was I right. This time the lanes were oily to the point where it was straight up gross. My balls felt so slick to the point where I went through an entire rosin sack. My towel looked like a mechanics towel. The ball return tunnels seemed to be full of grease which explains why my ball always came back with black spots all over it and why my towel ended up all soiled. Wont EVER be coming back here to bowl under such deplorable lane and equipment conditons.

LOVE this place.Stay tuned, for our review of the Ice Skating Facility portion of the property. Coming, end of year!!

2019-04-07Not Safe & Rundown! Exposed electrical wires and a bathroom that looks and smells like a murder scene. No thank you! The owners should take care of this place. What a shame.

2020-08-31My mother worked at the bowling alley from the time it opened till she retired Until she retired at 70. Her name was Maxine McDonald. She actually started working Pickwicke pool in 1946 when we pulled a trailer from the light Wisconsin and lived in the first spot number one until 1952. (I was 4 years old.) During that time my father worked in the hamburger stand on weekends and mother was in the front as a cashier. She was a head cashier until the pool closed. At the age of 13 I worked in the hamburger stand and the ice cream Stand summers until I graduated from high school. Summer only. At this time I was making $.50 an hour. I was allowed to spend half of what I made for school clothes and the other half I saved. I had the time of my life there, imagine all the grass area to play in and swim any time the thee pool was open. I took Swimming lessons and I could swim over. There was a big wooden structure in the center with a high dive board and a low one. I could go on for ever. If you want to learn more contact.Suzanne McDonald Crittenden BallI have all my mom‘s photo albums so if you want more pictures let me know.
