The only thing I did not like about this place is the lighting. There is some lighting that actually has whats called a destructive interference in the waveforms that propagate from the source and the lighting actually makes me notions. In fact some florescent lighting is anti life.. decorated really nice. But the lighting. Makes me not feel good.. great place bad lighting..:/
I was extremely impressed with there room. The bathrooms are very nice! Roomy. And has full strength of water pressure in the showers, rather than dribbling.
I grew up in Martinez and have passed by the vintage Muir Lodge sign many a time. When family business brought me back to town, I was happy to see they were economically and competitively priced, as they were very conveniently located. The sign may be vintage, but the accommodations are wonderfully modern. The rooms are completely redone, comfortable and well equipped (refrigerator, microwave, hairdryer, iron and board, coffeemaker, TV, individual AC/heat, room darkening shade). The grounds are also revamped and the pool is sparkling (although closed due to pandemic). Muir Lodge gave myself, my husband, and our good friend in the adjacent room a very relaxing place to unwind after several hardworking days of packing and moving. I look forward to staying here again when next I am in town. I highly recommend booking directly with Muir Lodge rather than through a third party. They have the personal touch.
Dont hesitate to book this quaint motel. It is by far the best deal around. Room was updated and sparkling clean. Bed is very comfortable and there are two chairs to relax on and a desk with office chair in our king room. Small refrigerator with a freezer and a microwave. Plenty of room for luggage also. The window coverings are exceptional allowing for complete privacy. Staff is friendly and very attentive. Loved staying here!
Its OK, quaint and all to place your head. I would have never stayed here had I not had to evacuate for a fire. It seemed safe enough, but the first thing I noticed was a guest sitting outside smoking a blunt. Perhaps not the most kid friendly place, but just OK in a pinch. It was quiet enough, I had the A/C blasting, but they do provide two sets of EARPLUGS in case youre the lucky one next to the room making all the pictures crooked.
This place is totally renovated on the inside of the rooms. Definitely recommend. Great prices too during the week.Amazing bathroom, tv, microwave, fridge/freezer, smoking and non smoking.
I keep coming back and almost feel guilty of falling in love with this couples charm and playful style that lures me back every time. Their love story is felt in every inch of each quaintly decorated and very well restored rooms. I love it here.
Our family came down from northern California to enjoy 6 flags. The owners of this lodge had the most amazing rooms for their price. As I walked in everything was updated and very clean. Thank you guys for the great experience! More lodges should be as fantastic as yours was.
We had the worst experience when we requested a non smoking room,but was given a room that had strong harsh cigarette smell.We got no rest that night and I did bring it up to the office clerk who didnt even move us to another room. This motel is not non smoking, because they have ashtrays all over the outside of every room.The bedroom was modern and beautiful and exactly as the website advertises, and comfortable but our visit was ruined by the horrible room that smelled like an ashtray. The area is quiet ,even on a busy street.
Stayed in room 20 had an alright stay til it was time to shower in the morning ... the room had no hot water 🚿 sucks because I needed to wash my funky a$$
This was a great experience! from the outside this looks like a classic, 50s style single-story motor inn with neon signage and parking right in front of your door. But once you open that door... Ive stayed in Best Western Plus hotels that couldnt come close to these rooms. These were outstanding. Great bed, granite counters, individually-wrapped pastries in a basket, even a package of earplugs by the bed! Be forewarned, however, that you cant extend your checkout without paying extra.

Room was fully remodeled. Bathroom was really nice, bed was comfortable, fridge, microwave and tv included. Complimentary water bottles and breakfast snack was in the room. Everything with the room itself was great. Only minor mark was parking in the lot was scarce and tight.
Reserved a non smoking room which was fine, however, the rooms are so badly sealed that smoke and cigarette smell seeped into the room via the door. The fact that ashtrays were hung right outside the room did not help to keep the room smoke free.
The rooms are nice but its not the safest place due to the bums especially since theres no buffer zone between the street and your room. And theyre aggressive out here like rabbid dogs. Can hear them fighting with management etc. Theyll follow you right up to your room. But the rooms are nice. Fridge has a legit freezer, internet works good and my favorite part, you can see the TV from the toilet lol.
Pam McKinney here. Stayed 2 nights. Room 3 out of 21. Reserved room 2 days before arriving and informed them of our 2 tiny dogs. Agreed to pay extra. Got there and was told no pets allowed. Caught owner in a lie when he first said he wasnt there when I called about pets then later said he was there and told his guy to give me a lower rate. I had to pay an extra $40 on top of $264. Altho newly renovated, I had to take a wash cloth and clean all the floors..bath & bed areas...cloth was black. Someones old food was on the floor by a bed so I knew the floors had not been mopped. Parking spots in front of rooms need to be designated. Trouble with DirectTV that owner couldnt fix so only had 2 channels. Smelly sewer odor in bathroom when light/fan on. Now for the pros: Easy access off Hwy 4. Pastries and 2 bottled waters but no breakfast. All the appliances including iron & board. VERY comfy bed & pillows. Pretty room & bath even tho small. Owners are friendly people and actually treated my 2 furbabies well.
Staying here at the Muir Lodge is clean comfortable and convenient, the rooms are very nice, I feel at home. The host, Dee and Neesh are very gracious, and accommodating. Nothing bad to say at all!
Well-appointed room, including decent WiFi, easy-to-use shower, plentiful outlets, and a powerful A/C unit. Had no need for special service during my stay, but the manager was pleasant and professional.
We had a problem with the tv. The manager spent 30 minutes fixing it. Just before it was fixed, he offered a new room, if he could not fix the tv. I was very happy with the service. The rooms themselves, nice, comfortable, a very pleasant experience overall.
From the outside it doesnt look like much but take a gander and book a room, the rooms are newly renovated and are awesome. They even leave some waters and a snack for you to enjoy during your stay. I throughly enjoyed my stay here. Highly recommend
Comfy beds, Clean although they have neglected to sweep the bathroom floors since we arrived or replace washcloths/hand towels and newly remodel, has fridge and microwave, iron, ironing board, hairdryer. Small parking lot. Not much outside but a soda machine and a pool.
A bit drafty, but super place to stay, just like a 4 star hotel. Super clean rooms. Super house keeping service..love this place will definitely go here when we come back to Antioch..
***BEWARE OF CREDIT CARD SCAM MUIR LODGE MOTEL MARTINEZ CA***.If you have a reservation and for some odd reason the Indian lady at the front desk doesnt like you she will say she cant find your reservation. Then tell you to pay regular price which will be $35-$40 dollars more then your reservation, then by the end of the day your reservation will miraculously appear and shell run your credit card again a total of 3 charges on my account for one day billed on the same day. The sad part is I like this motel it is updated I have rented a total of 10 times there and rent from various motel or hotel through out the month for my job but after this experience no more.

This Muir lodge motel cheated customer with fake information.i found they promised supply free breakfast ,but the own denied it next morning,even I questioned this point when I booked room at first.The more important point is they raised the price higher when the owner found I had no choice to live there.What they did made the Americans shame.

2022-02-20Awesome little hotel! I had work to do in Benicia for the week, but staying over there would be a bit pricey for my liking. Found this little gem only 15 minutes from my job site. Recently remodeled, staff is friendly and its clean.

2022-06-14Its a mixed bag at Muir Lodge. The room was nice, with good lighting options depending on the time of day. I got use out of the fridge and especially the nice sized freezer which could comfortably fit a pint of ice cream. The shower was hot. The complimentary water was a nice touch. On the negative side, the bed is creeky, the pillows were difficult for me to sleep on, there is significant road noise and temperature regulation is challenging. Id still stay here again if in the area though.

2021-10-22They are doing a great job with the remodel. Reasonably priced and clean. I travel with equipment, so being on the ground floor with an easily accessed door is always a plus.The details added like water and breakfast danishes were nice. And the street isnt loud to me but the earplugs are right there if needed.

2021-06-27Room was clean but the fridge had old food in it from who ever stayed there previously and it looked old so who knows how long it was in there for. Not alot of parking space I had to park really close to the side walk hoping I wouldnt get towed or a ticket luckily I didnt. Also bathroom was clean except the tube looked a little dirty.over all not bad for a one night stay. I would just recommend for house keeping to look in the fridge and clean it before someone else gets there.

2021-05-16Had family from out of town stay. It was a perfect room. With the TV on the wall gave more room and the chairs were recliners. Bathroom was spacious. The entire room was remodeled beautifully. Quiet too.

2021-08-20** COCKROACH ALERT **The employees were nice, but this place was not clean. I had to wash the ice bucket, the shower curtain had black mold on it, and BONUS - I woke up to a cockroach in my bed/in my HAIR. When we told the employees about the roach, they basically said they didnt care and wouldnt do anything about it. This was the worst place Ive ever stayed.

2021-02-08Nice, clean and updated rooms. Good amenities, too. Unfortunately there was a lot of road noise, and I could clearly hear a guy talking on the phone outside near my room and smell his tobacco smoke. However, overall the positive outweighed the negative.

2021-07-06The room was absolutely filthy and unkept. Walls had dried stuff which had been sprayed and not washed. Surfaces not cleaned. Furniture had stains and dried yuck ground into the fabric. We were late to arrive so we had to keep the room and there was noise throughout the night from people next door. They were long term residents I found out at 7 in the morning when they decided to move the party to the front porch next to our door. Attempted to cancel the next days reservation and of course the crooks that run the place denied a refund and basically inferred that I was not being truthful about the room being filthy. All in all this is a great place to get bed bugs, get your funds stolen, and get little sleep.

2021-10-18Place is a small hotel but very clean parking is very accessible room is clean and sheets are clean they also have thick warm comforters quiet for the most part a nice place to stay . I recommend it and I would definitely come again.
