We did a last minute brunch and the timing was perfect. We got a window seat (they don’t call it Riverview for nothin’!) and a happy and efficient server. I had a coffee question and she grabbed the barista (they have a barista!) to help. The restaurant was closing at 2pm so that their staff could enjoy New Year’s Eve. That speaks to how the owner treats the staff to me. The food/drinks/service were first rate. It was pricey, but we got our money’s worth.
Just left there for Valentines Day dinner. Food is very tasty very well prepared. the service is not up to task. super slow very uncoordinated. 4 tables around me everybodys food was cold. Got a $145 bill for cold steaks. Service workers very slow Is very very incordinated. Took 10 minutes to get steak knives. Hope they get it together soon great remodel restaurant. We will continue to support them. Possibly need more service workers. for dinner rush.
The decor is amazing and I’ve always loved this location. Our server was Marci.Marci has an electronic pad that I’m pretty sure can tell her what kind of beers are on tap but instead she told my husband that he had to go ask the bar tender. On their drink menu under most of the breweries for what actual beer they have it says ask your server. She came over three times saying she was like a chicken with her head cut off.She blamed us not getting water on 3 large parties that someone else was waiting on. Marci’s redeeming quality, she put my daughters order in before our so she would get her food first. That’s awesome. However, it still took about an hour for it to come out, or get to us not sure which. I ordered a Bloody Mary- it tasted like water, tomatoes and lime.. almost a yummy salsa but not what I ordered. The biscuits and chocolate gravy tasted like someone heated up a snack pack and dumped it over some bread- definitely not what I was expecting. And the corned beef my husband order was great but covered up by eggs that weren’t anything special. The corned beef was good enough on its own it doesn’t need those eggs pulling focus. They did mention they were closing early for retraining, we visited on November 28, 2021. So, really hoping that training took place because the beautiful decor and all the hard work that went into rebuilding this place, it definitely deserves a chance to flourish- but unless they get more help and retrain their weak servers I don’t think it will.
First time here, and were coming back. Love the venue for its great view by the water. Bottomless champagne comes with an assortment of juices of your choice. It was short staffed on a holiday, so well give it a real chance next time.Well try some other items on the menu next time.
Other than the view somewhat this place is nothing to write home about. I got there with high expectations since it was highly recommended by a friend. First off I asked our server if they had freshed squeezed orange juice and she said yes. It wasnt. Not by a long shot. This came from those brands you buy at supermarkets. Secondly I enjoy having eggs Benedict and since its says on the menu, classic bene I thought how could I go wrong. Well I was wrong. It didnt come with Canadian bacon and the hollandaise sauce tasted like nothing. The home potatoes are meh at best. The coffee was pretty awful. Mind you its pricey so its not like you get what you pay for because we definitely didnt.Parking is limited as well which is another minus point. All in all dont go out of your way to go all the way there to pay alot for mediocre food.
Family (14) celebration held in the interior (sundown side) dining area that appears to be used for large groups and main dining overflow. Servings were plentiful and visibly pleasing. Bar drinks were tasty and strong, but pricey ($24 for two well vodka tonics). Go online for food menu choices and pricing. Sufficient food options for multiple dining visits. Service can be spotty during busy, crowded times (I was the third meal order taken, but was the last one to be served). Can be noisy if crowded. Popular venue for Friday and Saturday evenings, so dining reservations are strongly recommended. Outside dining options, off the bar area, are popular because of restaurant location right on the San Joaquin river and warm weather location much of the year. Can be windy, so plan ahead if outside.Had the Chicken Parmesan meal Saturday night, that was delivered last of the fourteen meals ordered Friday night, and taken as a To Go meal since everyone else was about finished. Turned out to be overcooked and under sauced. A big disappointment.
Great location and view. Dog friendly. Decent food. Terrible service. Visited for brunch on Saturday, the waiter forgot to bring the bottomless mimosa to my friend until after we were almost done with our food. I barely ate my meal because I ordered a Benedict with no bacon and it had bacon crumbled all over it. Had to hunt down waiter to order additional drinks. Overall not a pleasant experience. Brunch was about $35-$40 per person. Expect better service for that price.Visited the following day, sat at a table for 45 minutes and no one ever came to serve us. Left and went somewhere else. Will not be returning until they train staff better.
We wanted to try someplace new for our anniversary. This Monicas is a gem. Giovanni was great! Dinner was served promptly. Everything was 😋delicious. Calamari to share came with fried artichokes and jalapeños. Pasta with shrimp and crab was to die for. Ribeye was generous, perfectly cooked, and sides were plentiful. As the sun set, we enjoyed a wine from one of our favorite wineries in Livermore, the Wood Family on the patio. Perfect evening out. Highly recommended. We will be returning before the year is through.
After 2 visits and 4 courses, I can wholeheartedly recommend Monicas only for its great view. The food is pricey but not fully realized. The dishes were almost good but fell short every time. This last visit, the pancakes I ordered were undercooked and service was noticeably slow with a modest crowd on a Friday at noon. This place needs to improve both its food and service. When McDonalds has better pancakes, you know you have work to do.
Loove it! They have re done it all. Great food, great service, the bloody Marys are expensive be aware lol. Update! It saddens me that they deny reservations for bigger partys because the staff cant accommodate patrons!we reached out for a party and they did not want to accommodate 😔
My family and I visited this place and we waited 40 mins to be seated, it was packed!! We called ahead of time to make reservations but they said they were not taking reservations. The place is lovely, nevertheless, very spacious, has plenty of parking, outdoor seating with heaters and the best part is the live music (they only have it some days of the week). Now, the food is a bit pricey and I was honestly expecting to be wowed by the flavor but it was ok. We ordered dinner, some burgers, pasta and salmon. The plate with salmon and potatoes was the best one. I will be back to try their breakfast plates. Something to note is the fact that they include a 20% gratuity fee to your bill if they had live music during your visit (no matter the size of your party)
I am sure this is a great place. But my experience was ruined by the wonderful jackass behind the bar. Ordered an old fashioned and got a filthy looking glass of ice with bourbon in it. Oh and he chucked in a whole orange slice...(pic of glass is attached to fawn over). That was his old fashioned...lol. I have dined at a lot of fancy places but when he charged me $17 dollars for that filth my cup runneth over with ....something. when I paid in cash the dude didnt even use the cash register....instead he pulled out his own wallet😄. That was it. Review time. Ok enough from me. Enjoy...
I read all the reviews before visiting the restaurant. Many were not favorable but we thought we’d give it a try for my husbands 71st birthday. We arrived at 10:45 before the mad rush. We had a great server Yasmin who took our drink orders and our food order when she delivered the drinks. Silver ware and glasses were clean. Our food was delivered in a timely manner with everything we requested. After our meal Yasmin brought a shot of Tequila over and had everyone cheer for my husbands birthday.Thank you Yasmin for making his birthday a memorable one. We will seek you out as our server next time we come.
This is an excellent place - location. Excellent view and a lot of work done to rebuilt it 100% brand new with and excellent layout. However staff need to be trained. They really do not seem to know what is on offer - food or drinks. They took too long to get food or re-Order drinks. Also not a very good show to see wait staff taking shots with their friends when you are not getting good service.Another very very big negative was that no one is cleaning or restocking the bathrooms. By the time we left, there was no toilet paper in the ladies bathroom and the Mens bathroom had the paper towel basket overflowing and wet all around the urinals. Total soggy mess. This is is very big issue. Please fix this and you will never have an empty seat in this awesome location.
The vibe...was awesome! We decided to try out a new spot for date night. We loved the live music and the drinks (old fashioned and strawberry fire marg)! My husband loved his fish and chips. My pasta was good but lacking flavor/seasoning. We ordered a cinnamon roll and espresso for dessert. And were super disappointed that the espresso was bitter and salty and the cinnamon roll was way under cooked. We will give them another shot because it hasnt been long since theyve opened.
My first experience was poor. I got lemon ricotta pancakes which were pretty good, but not worth $16. My husband got chicken fried steak and the breading was soggy and flavor was disappointing and bland. Huge disappointment and not worth the price. Staff, atmosphere, and mimosas were good which is why I would give this place 2 stars. Not sure if I’d ever go back.
I absolutely love this place! Its my go to spot after work for a nice cold beer and the halibut dinner! And the salmon is so friggin delicious I think about it at work;)My first experience was when they first opened and my bartender and server was Marina and she was on top of it! Very kind and very detail oriented I gotta say its marinas smile that keeps me coming back to Monicas and my experience with all the staff has been great.... If you want good food and good drinks and good quality service right on the water..... There is no place better then Monicas Riverview!
Ambiance, service and menu selection is excellent. Great river views.Have frequented this establishment many times. All but one breakfast dish ( poached eggs way over cooked, almost hard boiled, even when they replaced them) were all very satisfying and tasty. Would give 5 stars but a little pricey like everywhere nowadays, no dock for boats to tie up.2 short rum and cokes $28.00 plus tip. Dont forget to check out bakery! Will try their happy hour next.
No wait for breakfast on a Saturday at 930am...what!?!? Amazing service. delicious food!! No bad seat in the house. Nice views of the water. We ordered 3 items between 4 people and it was more than enough food. They even split the food to separate plates for us. Granola amd yogurt was delicious. Abes Benedict was so good! The French toast was Amazing with fresh baked bread. They have mimosas too.
Mixed feelings. I will say that Ismael (food runner) was competent and attentive. He was the one person that preformed at a professional level.Brought us our food and noticed that we did not have utensils. Told us he would bring them along with the plate that was not brought with the rest of the order.Spoke to management and they are in the process of replicating the level of hospitality at the Livermore location.Opportunity for improvement and the drive to get there. Aside from that, ambiance and view were spectacular.I will visit again.
We had just arrived into town and found this Gem . The atmosphere was nice . as we entered the parking lot you could see guest sitting out on the nice deck / patio it appeared some guest having cocktails and some dining . did I mention the restaurant patio view is water front . Our family choose to sit inside only because the grandbabies were cold . Our server was great and took care of the kids menu request and ours in a friendly manner . I had shrimp and chips the shrimp was fresh and the batter was light and crispy the other dishes were all great and we left satisfied and happy . I will plan to come here again and you should too !
Giving ⭐️⭐️⭐️, because of our server and the atmosphere otherwise I would have to give it a zero.Went to Monicas for the first time on 5/15 with 3 other people.Yessie, our server, was amazing,⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Avocado bites were deliciousRestaurant was clean, well decorated. Has a patio looking out to the water and another patio to enjoy the band. The band was great.Bar smelled bad.Bartenders over poured all mixed drinks and shots. 2 of us ordered a Sangria mix drink. We could not drink them. The mojito and margarita we ordered were also very strong.Had to send back 1 burger, burnt and no flavor . The new burger was cooked to order and had flavor. 2 other burgers were ordered. Meat lacked flavor. Garlic fries had very little garlic.I ordered the bone in rib-eye with shrimp scampi on top side salad and seasonal vegetables. $42. The rib-eye was not bone in, and had no flavor. No salt or pepper. The shrimp was precooked frozen shrimp and warmed in a little bit of garlic and butter, they were dry and tough. The vegetables were cooked well but again zero flavor, no salt or pepper. That meal was not at all worth $42. We decided not to send it back and took it home for the dog.We see lots of potential just sad our first time was like that.
This was our first visit for breakfast. To start with we sat in the back room and our waiter ignored us from the beginning. I had to ask for coffee snd water after 15 minutes. Our food came in a good time. My husband had the combo with pancakes and sausage and eggs. The pancakes were very dry and the sausage was very spicy and the menu did not state it was spicy. My waffle combo was good. We sat for a long time waiting for the bill, so long I wanted to walk out to see if our server would pay attention. We will never return between the bad service and food the meal was over priced.
Im going to spare you the dramatic details of my recent experience at Monicas in Antioch and just say that the staff here is rude and unprofessional. Every single review that has this exact claim is 100% accurate! Its really disappointing since Antioch deserves to have nice things and for people to enjoy the beautiful and serene scenery the delta has to offer. I really hope that the owner(s) and management take these type of reviews seriously cause you wont last to your 1 year anniversary with the type of staff you currently have.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food is delicious. The service however is not good. We went for lunch and no one came to check on us for at least 15 minutes after we were seated. No water, no drink orders, nothing. Once we ordered, our food took 45 minutes to come out. In that time we saw 3 tables seated after us get their food, eat and leave. I was very disappointed because I had been telling my husband how good the food is, but this experience definitely didnt make him want to come back.
No good. Prices are way too high. The service wasnt great. We never got drink refills. The food was big, but the flavor wasnt. I got the home made corned beef hash and eggs. No thank you. Ive had much better for half the price. The view is great, but the service and food is nothing to go crazy about.
Do not eat here. We had a party of 8 and the service was horrible. I ordered a Bone in Ribeye and it was served with no bone. The waitress said that sometimes it has a bone and sometimes it does not. Well the menu clearly states, Bone in Ribeye. The steak was a little grey in color and did not taste good. When the bill came we asked to split the bill between four couples. She put one through, then charged the balance to the next card. She said she was sorry. We asked for a receipt and she said she could not print one. By-the-way, the 20% gratuity was added in automatically. She obviously did not care if we had a good experience. My Grandfather took us to the Riverview when we were growing up. This was a great place to eat. It is too bad the new ownership has taken it down hill.We will never eat there again.
Even though they had 4 people behind the bar it took forever to get initial service or even be acknowledged as waiting. I guess they each must have 2-4 seats they service. Once I was served could not get refill and had to wait after finishing drinks and food for check. VERY POOR SERVICE at bar. A shame as the location on waterfront could make this a very nice repeat place.
We set by a party that we know they was charged the tip because they where of six. But it was two of us on are ticket by and they charge us as a party of six and add that large tip on ar ex bill.we came in as two . That waitress over tip her self. Food good good. But the server is a not a good person.
Be wary of the 5 star reviews without comments or just a single sentence comment. Theyre bogus. The outdoor ambience is great and the new remodel is nice...great views of the water. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE AND FOOD ARE EXTREMELY BAD...and this place isnt cheap. With the abysmal level of service and poorly prepared food, they wont survive. Better chance of survival if they turn this place into a large bar, but i wasnt impressed with the watered down drinks either.
Usually this place is very good. We went on a Sunday and the food and service were terrible. We got a burger (medium) and it was extremely burnt. Couldn’t even cut it. I got the grilled mozzarella, it also came out wrong. Our waitress was just standing in the kitchen and would not come check on us.
Love the new restaurant!! Breakfast menu is great and service was wonderful. Dinner menu was disappointing for price, and wanted more steak and seafood options. My sons burger was burnt. The fish and chips was 4 chunks of fish not fillet. Took 30 minutes for drinks to come from bar. Band started around 7:30 or so great for bar atmosphere but not so much for restaurant. Love to see this place succeed, would recommend different dinner menu and more than likely different chef.
Started off with our first few visits aboslutely loving the food, service, and atomosphere. This was pre summer 22 on our last visit about a month ago we went in for brunch on a sunday and we put our names on the waitlist. Waited about 60 minutes to get a text back. And were then seated in the back room next to a very loud table celebrating their 21st birthday which would have been fine had it not been for our server giving that table all of his attention. 3 seperate times they walked in with a bottle of clase azul that they clang around with cups and were chanting shots shot shots in a small room where im trying to have brunch with my wife. We ordered bottomless mimosas and our server only brought 2 of them. A seperate server noticed our table lacking service and brought the other drinks when we had finished our meal which had been served without utensils or our first drinks. Really unfortunate how quickly monicas degraded in quality.
The waitress was very rude, rushed us to order and pay our bill, was awful at refilling my coffee and our waters. When we paid and split the check she made sure to tell us that we both needed to leave a tip since the check was split. Like, excuse me? I was a waitress and a bartender for years so I know how much tips mean to workers in the industry but don’t you ever feel ENTITLED to a tip. Especially if you’re garbage at your job. The service here is terrible, you guys really need new waitresses.
What a disappointment! That was a train wreck! We just finished dinner there (6p on a non holiday Sunday) and they got everything wrong. It took 1/2 hour to get our food but they forgot to bring the appetizer. I ordered “The Vegan” which was supposed to be seasonal vegetables, balsamic rosemary portabella steak for $18. What showed up was bland bagged Sysco squash, cauliflower, broccoli mix. No sauce or herbs and no portabella “steak”. My friend’s eggplant parmesan was tough, the noodles tasted weird like the grease/butter they put on them was old, and there was hardly any cheese. We asked for the portabella, our appetizer, and cheese. By the time the portabella showed up I had already finished the veggies only because I was so hungry. The portabella was bland, no seasoning at all, and about 2.5” across. Never got cheese for my friend’s meal which didn’t matter in the end since she returned it anyway. . When the appetizer came it had the wrong sauce. Not what was listed on the menu. My friend sent her food back because it tasted so off. They are trying to be a nice place but their kitchen staff is lost. I understand the difficulties in staffing but forgetting key components of a meal is beyond that. The whole experience was bizarre honestly. I will not return and will not recommend.
Just when you thought you had taste at all the wonderful foods of the area along comes Monica‘s at Riverview and completely blows your taste buds away. Not only is the food absolutely amazing but the service that Monica and her crew give on a daily basis is far beyond anything else that we have ever witnessed. We especially love the live music on the weekends!!! So get on out here at every chance you get and see what all the hype is about.
This place is a complete atrocity. By far the absolute worst food my family has ever been served.... Ever... I AM SHOCKED!! Mayonnaise and lemon juice is NOT hollandaise. Disgusting is a compliment. The costco/sysco frozen chicken patty on the parm sandwich was unexpected, undercooked, and completely cold, inedible, and unpleasant. Jarred Prego as the sauce...really??! I would never patronize this establishment ever again... even if I was paid to eat there. Trash.
This would have been my third time down there. First two were ok, nothing spectacular except for the view. Had breakfast French toast combo, and the other time for lunch I had a burger.Anyway, 2 weeks ago I told my friend to meet me there for lunch and a beer. I arrived early and went to the restroom near the bar. As I entered there were a circle of flies near the entrance, and inside. After coming out I walked down the length of the bar, and flys everywhere. I walked out of the bar and noticed more flys all around the dining area.I mentioned something about it to the greeter who didn’t seem to care that I was leaving because I was disgusted at the thought of having lunch there.Don’t know what the issue was, and don’t really care. I hope that’s something that’s been resolved cuz it is a nice remodel.
I went there for lunch and the wait was 45 minutes to an hour. We decide to grab a drink at the bar and stood there for about 20min. After the bartender was through with the person in front of me of me I went to order my drinks only to be told I had to go to the other end of the bar because he was only serving one section of the restaurant. Already a bit upset, but I kept my composure. After not getting served at the other end of the bar either I decided to leave only to see that very same Hispanic bartender serving another couple at the location I was previously at. (I only mentioned Hispanic because there were other bartenders working and I don’t want this comment to reflect poorly them) I was furious at that point and let him know it. Management train your staff and get it together before you end up going under. I will not let this one bad experience keep me from trying this place again, but I do hope they remedy the problem I experienced and the rest of the issues I’ve read about in the reviews.
The new, happenin place. Very nicely redone. Very upset with bartender who accused us of not paying our tab and leaving. We had paid our bill with a different bartender because we were ready to go and ours was no where to be found. When she came back she told my friend, who we had sent a drink over to, that we had bounced on our tab and insisted that he call me and tell me or that HE should pay for it! He stuck up for me and said I would never do that. She should have made damn sure with the other bartenders on whether or not I had paid my tab before she goes accusing me and bringing my friend into it! Im 47 years old! Not a dine and dash flippin high school kid! I pay my tabs!
During breakfast the wait staff not very responsive. Asked for condiments I never received and forgot my Mocha. Had to remind her to bring it and it wasnt that busy.Went back another time and the bar changed the price of my wine. When I brought it to their attention they werent interested in correcting the issue and told me to pay the higher price and just left me hanging. Walked away and never returned and left the wine and me at the bar. Training issue.
My friend and I stopped in for lunch today around 1:00. We sat on the back patio overlooking the water. Such a beautiful setting. Our server came by and brought us menus and asked about drinks. We both just wanted waters to start, We decided what we wanted then we waited. When she came back to drop off the waters my friend asked if we could order. She said just let her drop off some drinks and she’d be right back. Well we waited…and waited…and waited! She was taking care of everyone around us…even the table that came in after us already had their appetizers! We were completely ignored. So finally we got up and left! Little did she know that we both have daughters in the service industry and would have tipped very well🤷♀️
My husband son and I came to have breakfast around 930 am. Monicas was busy and I understand there can be some delays. This was only our second time coming and the first experience wss great. But our sever Kyla was awful. We had to ask twice for our drinks. She then finally got them to us. We ordered 2 coffees but she brought no cream or sugar. We then again had to ask twice for the cream and sugar. But the time she got it to us (almost 15 mins later) our coffees were cold. We then had to ask a few times for Kyla to take our orders. She pretty much forgot about us so we got up and left. Ill be surprised if she noticed we even got up and left. I hate leaving bad reviews but the service was that bad!!!
Nice remodel of original building inside and out! Bloody Mary was very well prepared! Disappointing menu that lacks seafood (as compared to original restaurant Riverview Lodge opened in 1948, offered a variety of delicious seafood). Service was just okay. Server did not ask if we wanted any water or dessert! Food really did not stand out from other restaurants of the same caliber; however, pricey!!!!
This is my 5th time and the first time it was great breakfast 2nd dinner crab salad and shrimp cocktail was great. Last night dinner was not the same!! I ordered crab salad and a cocktail. The crab was not the same and it was much smaller!! It took forever to get our food
We are going through a difficult time in our lives. We came to eat at Monicas for the first time. My wife and I enjoyed the pre dinner show at the bar. Then had dinner and were a little disappointed in the halibut we both ordered. We had a conversation with the owner about our experience and were pleased with the outcome and would recommend them for a second try.
Friends invited us here for lunch. We had never even heard of it. Pretty long wait of 45 minutes which usually would bother me but we hadnt seen them since COVID started so we talked the whole time. During that they talked up the crab sandwich so I knew what I was getting. The menu is extensive and the offer breakfast also on Sunday. Lot of good looking food but I want the crab sandwich. My wife ordered nunis polenta and eggs. All I have to say is try the crab sandwich AND nunis. They were both fabulous. We are definitely going back to try some of the other menu items. I can see why there was a long wait.
The food was great but our waitress was extra special, Yasmin. She was polite, friendly and at the end of our meal my daughter and I were clearly emotional over the recent loss of our loved one and she was so caring and empathetic. She restored my faith in good people 🙏 Debbie Julian ❤
I had the spicy fettucine and it was great. They seemed a little understaffed on a Tuesday evening, but the food came pretty quick once we got it ordered. The restaurant is completely remodeled inside and out, and it looks incredible. The ambience is nice, though I would suggest having some light background music when there is no live music playing. I also wish they would use check presenters so there is no risk of damaging or loosing my card. It was pleasant overall. Definitely one of the nicest restaurants in town.
Went to brunch with some friends and the bill for just my breakfast was 152$. The server was rude af, and the food was absolutely not worth it. I will never ever go back. We go to brunch all of the area this place was the most expensive, and had the absolutely worse servers. You cant be slow, and rude pick a struggle.
Our first visit to Monicas Riverview since it has opened. The restaurant is beautiful and offer tons of seating options with great views of the Delta. The wait staff are very friendly and helpful. I will say that I noticed inconsistencies in the food when it arrived versus how it is described on the menu. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and the chipotle mayo as described on the menu was not on the carb cake plate. We also ordered a Strawberry Flame Margarita which as described on the menu was to be rimmed with Tajin. The margarita arrived with a sugared rim. Ordered the Filet Oscar medium-rare. It came medium-well and the server was very kind and offered us options to address it. Overall good experience but looks like some things still need to be ironed out.
I just had to come share how great our server was on here. I come here often for mimosas with the girls and always have a good experience and delicious food, but Jalissa made my experience that much better. She was so attentive, so friendly, and really went above and beyond. I swear I was practically begging her to be my best friend by the end of it. I suggest that anyone come to Monicas and if youre lucky enough to have Jalissa as your server.
The remodel is really nice. I ordered the crab sandwich. At $30 I expected amazing. Well, they ran out of whatever bread it was supposed to be made with and only had white bread, seriously thin sliced wonder bread. The crab was good but not very much for the price. My son went soon after I went, they ran out of French fries and didnt tell him until his order came out. It took almost an hour to get drinks.Friends went the other night and they ran out of food.Ii hope they turn thi gs around. I understand that they are newly open. I go again tonight with some friends, we will see how it goes.
Went there today for a bite to eat. We were told there was a 30-40 minute wait. So we go to bar to order a drink. It took them about 20 minutes to take our drink order. Noticed as we were waiting purses and sweaters on the counter from employees . Which I thought was weird. Then we get our drinks the glasses seemed sticky. Assuming from bar tenders hands making different drinks.Atmosphere in bar area seemed loud and chaotic.Decided to leave after well over an hour of waiting. Went to different establishment and had a great lunch...After lunch we realized Monica never called after couple hours to let us know that our table was ready. Place is busy with not enough hired help .Don’t think myself or our friends will be back anytime soon...
I hope this place isn’t soliciting reviews. We went there last night and it was maybe 2.5 stars. The crab sandwich does not reflect the $29.50 price. Our server and the bartender didn’t know anything about their draft beers.Hopefully it’s just cause it’s new. We might give it another try in summer.
All it took was a quick glance, a cup of coffee and a kind conversation with Deanna to get me to be in awwww of this gem. It was a lil early than opening time but Deanna was a sweetheart of the show. She filled me in on the details of the lodge and its rich history. A beautiful view of the water and a huge welcoming atmosphere.
Who said you have to go all the way into San Francisco to enjoy great seafood???The Riverview Lodge Restaurant in old Antioch offers all you could want in the way of fine dining and cozy, quaint atmosphere. Did I fail to mention the OUTSTANDING views of the delta while you eat?Great ambience, service and the food was great with huge portions! Try the calamari or the fish and chips. And the Shrimp and Crab Au Gratin I had today was so delectable. The Riverview Lodge Restaurant offers reasonable prices, terrific menu, and great service along with a very roomy, quiet atmosphere.Stop by today!
I had one of the worst meals I have ever eaten anywhere at Monica’s Riverview restaurant today. I ordered a seafood omelette. The egg portion was inedible—dry, hard and tasteless. It would have been a good frisbee. The shrimp were raw and cold. The hash browns were dark on the outside and cold on the inside. There was one piece of cold toast that came on top of the burnt hash browns w a thimble size of “homemade” watery jam. With an iced tea and tip, it cost over forty dollars for one breakfast. Never again.
It is over priced and the food was not very good and one of the things the original Riverview Lodge had that was a favorite was fish and chips and Im sad to say that the new fish and chips were the worst Ive had and for $30 it is just sad . I wanted to love it because Riverview Lodge has been a part of my life since childhood but there was nothing left of the original Riverview Lodge .It looks nice but Im not sure that will be enough for all the people who have great memories of the original Riverview Lodge and the great food it served.

2022-08-09My family decided to celebrate my late grannys birthday. I am always skeptical of places with low star ratings, but I said to myself, try it anyway! Upon arrival it was hard to find, but I blame myself for that. I called to ask what they were by and the guy told me to go through a gate where it looks like you shouldnt hold through. ... oh okay 😕. ... the parking lot was small, but I found a park right away. They have a nice sized patio and the ambiance was cool. The menu items were few, but I ordered coconut prawns that were fried shrimp, with the slightest hint of coconut, served with an aioli instead of a sweet sauce; and garlic fies that I didnt get. I tried their raspberry margarita and a raspberry-mango margarita with Don Julio. .. they were good. I then ordered crispy chicken sliders and asked him to add the veggie toppings and to bring my fries out with them since I never received them. . ..this was also sub par. The best thing I ate was bread and butter. All of this including a 20% tip was $101 🙄😬 definitely not worth it.The brunch menu looked better, so maybe Ill try that.

2022-05-03Let me start with the food, since thats most of what people care about. Its good food, we tried the French Dip, Bruschetta, Garlic Fries, Pasta and more. Everything was good, but nothing was great food wise. But no one was unhappy with their order. The drink selection is solid, lots of draft beer options, and some tasty specialty cocktails. The Pineapple Martini is a standout for sure. The thing that makes this a 5 star is really the facility, location, and staff. The restaurant and bar are really well done. They are clean and comfortable and they look good. The outdoor patios are large and great, and of course the view is gorgeous. Id definitely go again.

2022-02-14Portions are great for price. All the food pictured below was delicious. The fruit was fresh and the whip cream on the waffle was great! The raspberry margarita was good. The Hawaiian mimosa was also sweet and yummy! We went on a Saturday morning and there was no wait time. The views are nice. They have a full bar! I enjoyed the food but it didn’t give me that wow factor I was hoping. Will come back to try their lunch options.

2022-03-27The place looks amazing! The breakfast wasnt that good to me. My bacon wasnt done so I sent it back. They did try to make it again and it was still super chewy/ wiggly. The pancakes were darker than I wanted and too sweet. The potatoes were excellent! And the mimosas were wonderful. The wait staff is also a huge plus.....our waitresses were friendly and very attentive.

2022-06-28Delta view dining at its best. We’ve visited twice. Once for brunch. We both had the crab sandwich, as crab lovers we had to. It was delicious. We also had the mimosa flight. It’s a great deal for sampling while you dine. The second time we enjoyed a cocktail before venturing off somewhere else. There was a band playing that day. Very entertaining. It’s a great place to hang with family and friends.

2022-08-07Food was good. And the views were nice. Service was definitely lacking. Had to ask 3 different people 4 times for plates, napkins, and silverware. After 20min of waiting, our food was cold. There were flies everywhere too, and multiple full trash bags sitting by the door.

2022-08-16What a difference from the old Riverview Lodge! They only have Bar Bites available from 2-5 p.m.I had the Burger Sliders, dry and a little melted cheddar cheese and a tiny pickle slice on the bottom. Lettuce, tomato and 2 rings of a red onion on the side. For $12 do you think they could put some effort into it?Well, the server said that the main menu was out of date and the burgers and such werent priced while everything else on the menu had a price. To me, you go here to enjoy the view and have something to eat and drink.

2022-04-10Came here for brunch after church. I knew it would be packed, but I was still shocked by the number of people eating And waiting. They said the wait would be over an hour but the bar was available as first come, first served. We were able to find a spot quickly, but the staff was all over the place. It took a good while for us to even be acknowledged. Checked out the drink menu (there when we sat) and a food menu we snagged from a neighboring couple. Sooo many options for both, but prices seemed well out of proportion. We ended up starting the 2 hr of bottomless mimosas at the bar, with pineapple juice as they were out of orange, before making it to the table. Took a while for me to decide considering the prices. Finally settled on the cucos big a$$ breakfast sandwich. Menu said it came with bacon And ham but there was no ham. It was still a good sandwich. The bbq sauce is mustard based. She ordered and enjoyed the French dip.It was a pretty good experience with the live band and mimosas, but if I was to return, we would only be to try their dinner.

2022-06-25I like to meet up with friends for happy hour at Monicas, but they dont have a big menu selection at that time. Ive also been for Brunch a couple times with family, including attending their mothers day brunch, which was packed! They give you large portions, but the food could use more seasoning for my creole palate. We love that they have live music, but I would love more to see some of the hot local bands we have in Antioch like @baycoinbeats on Instagram
