Right smack dav in the middle of the desert, you will see Mojave Trails National Monument... Theres no way to miss it. Open road for miles, very little traffic, given the pandemic even few tourists. The Route 66 sign is a must see, and Roys Gas/Hotel has an authentic vibe to it, but best of all were the salt flats - check them out because they are beautiful. The area is stunning, make sure you have lots of liquid on you and a full tank of gas because its going to be deserted for a whileeeee.
