I attended Easter Sunday Mass officiated by the pastor Father Patrick Mulcahy and was so impressed by the sermon. I felt like he spoke to me and not at me, as so many clergymen do. That is a complete turn off for me.Because of this experience, I am in the process of applying to become a member.
This charming church is right in the heart of La Jolla. Beautiful interior, worth a look. Even more wonderful is our warm reception by the community. As visitors on a regular Sunday Mass, then also as family members at a weekday Funeral, we were received as friends. The priests, staff and liturgical ministers were all fabulous. I even still remember the homily. Wish I could worship here regularly.
The priest is very wise and holy. His love of Christ is strong and his sermons are formative in the faith. The church was full.

Im not Catholic, but I regularly go to Mass. I hadnt seen Fr. Pat since he was at St. Joes, and I sure do like his homilies, mostly because he speaks the truth.

Beautiful church and service. Its a place Ive been inside several times just to pray, but I just went for mass for the first time and it was really nice. Its a smaller church with a lovely choir.

My favorite church in the area. Not so much for the architectural value (although it is very pretty) as for the cordial and relaxed atmosphere.
Catholic Masses In a central place in La Jolla. With very good priests. I had to collaborate for homeless in the dining room. With very good attention for the community.

2019-10-12Nice very pretty church, but the priest talks too long and inserts homily into numerous places that it doesn’t belong, like just before the Our Father. Homily belongs in the homily.

2019-02-08A really beautiful Catholic Church! Very welcoming and friendly staff and attendees! Excellent music by an amazing pianist! When my family visits, we always go here and enjoy the service!

2018-12-06Beautiful church with many services offered, including both Spanish and English language masses. Daily mass readings matched those for the first Advent Sunday. Good choir. No traditional Latin masses offered, though. Also, the Deacon took the lead on the Gospel reading, sermon and meeting parting parishioners after mass. Sad to see the paster taking the back seat as the shepherd, for the mass I attended, at least. Also, the tabernacle was set off to the right of the alter, putting it in equal standing, location wise, as the choir.
