From NY and I really miss the bagels and pizza! A coworker brought these in and I immediately had to go there myself to bring home to the family. The everything bagels are super generously seasoned and the veggie cream cheese is fresh and delicious. Slightly expensive, but the quality is there. Oh yeah, and easy parking!
I’m a South Bay native of 63 years and recently came across Manhattan Bread & Bagel. . . Being of Italian heritage fresh baked bread is an item I truly enjoy. One recent day I was in the area and stopped in to the bakery. So many delicious bread types to choose from. My bagel was fresh and tasty. I also purchased a few loves of bread to take home. I have returned a number of times to pick up fresh baked bread for home. Bravo, Bravo & Bravo!
Im a South Bay native & a Chef for many years. Yet I rarely get to eat Bagels or bread so I ordered the tuna sandwich in sourdough that said it came with fresh fruit & a small side...The service was good. The sandwich was very fresh but the pasta salad had zero flavor & the side of fruit was an old tum down piece of orange.
Its a pleasant place with... pleasant staffThey will, however, wrap your toasted bagel & cream cheese in aluminum foil so that by the time you get it home its a bagel with cream sauce. The espresso drinks are out of a powdered machine.I bet their other food is better.
A piece of Brooklyn in Manhattan (Manhattan Beach that is!) I long for the days grabbing a bagel from a hole in the wall over looking the Brooklyn Bridge. Soft and warm a bagel would do wonders for the soul. This bakery matches that feeling, a feeling I never imagined Id recapture after my Step Uncles incident. Coffee was good.
Today, Sunday, Nov 1, we stopped at MBBakery to get fresh bread. We bought wheat sourdough which is quite good. The oatmeal cookies were good, but a bit dry. The Banana Chocolate Chip bread, packed with mini chocolate bits, was absent any taste of banana ! and extremely dry, nothing resembling banana bread texture or flavor. A waste of $!!!! I can not serve this to my company tomorrow. 🥴.
I have only had the lunch sandwiches here which are great. They are of high quality and a decent variety and value. For about $9 you get a sandwich and a side of delicious Greek pasta salad included. There is a good amount of parking and outdoor seating available.Be aware that they only currently sell cold sandwiches.
We went to this bagel shop at 4:30am because we had an early flight and they opened the door for us even though they dont even open until 6am! Service was wonderful and the food was fresh and delicious! A must to go to if youre looking for a deli/breakfast spot in LA.
Bagels are good, but not good enough to want to deal with the rude man bun hipster guy. Pre-ordered online. I wasnt sure where to stand to pick up my order. I asked entitled man bun guy who looked right at me. Flat-out ignored me and kept walking. I ordered ahead a bakers dozen of bagels, some cream cheese, lox and a coffee. Wasnt ready when I got there. I waited 15 minutes for him to finally get around to throwing some bagels in a bag and handing me my coffee, lox and cream cheese. Forgot the cream for my coffee. If youre going to charge me $22 for some bagels and a coffee, I dont think its asking too much to act like Im putting you out. Maybe he fell off his unicycle on his way to work, but you guys need to get better in the customer service department.
Good tasting bagel but was disappointed that i got a breakfast sandwich and waved cream cheese instead of American cheese and was charged $1 extra for the tiniest bit of cream cheese. It was dry as they only put a small about on 1 side of the bagel. I mean for $1 but sides should have had cream cheese. I dont mind an up charge but i think it was a lot when it was just swapping ingredients and i barely got any. Service was very friendly. I will give this place another shot
I bought chocolate chip cookies from here and some dog biscuits I thought that they were probably repackaged but I found out that they make them there those cookies are so moist and so good and my dog loved the dog biscuits that they made there really tasty and the bread here is really good too freshly made
What a great community supporter. They have stepped up their game in the days of CV19 and offering more than there usual awesome fare. Extras include eggs, deli meats, loads more bread, etc. Makes me feel proud for them and I am committed to supporting MB&B whenever I can.
Lox with jalapeño bagel! This is a legit bagel shop and the bagels are crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside exactly the way it should be. Great bagelsPlenty of quality cream cheese spreads as well. Feel like Im back home in NY when I step into this place. Friendly staff as well and plenty of space to sit down and eat. Small outdoor patio seating area.
I love the bagels and cream cheese here, and the coffee is good. Plus, they have other choices such as sandwiches with egg, cheese, bacon, and such. However, I feel that the cream cheese is somewhat overpriced. So I dont come here too often, unless I want to give myself a special treat! Sometimes, if Im waiting to have my car serviced at Firestone Complete Auto Care Center down the block on Sepulveda, and Im not planning to go home while my car is being serviced, I will walk to Manhattan Bread & Bagel to grab a bagel and a cream cheese tub. Admittedly, I like a lot of bagel with my cream cheese, if you get my drift! I do want to mention that the service here is a little bit inconsistent in terms of the attitude of the servers. Not long ago, one of them was not friendly or courteous at all. But, in general, its fine for the treats that its known for!
Manhattan Bread & Bagel is small but well loved by locals. The fresh bread is fantastic, and morning bagels are always tasty. The sandwich menu stays the same, but is good with staples that work well. My favourite is the BBQ BLT!Fresh cookies are always a welcome (and totally worth it!) temptation. They also have packaged salads that are a snap to pick up and roll with - these salads are surprisingly crisp, full and tasty.Pro tip - if you bring your kids (or if youre feeling nostalgic), get the PB&J with the crust cut off and a cold whole milk. Its awesome!
Great bagels and bread. But the incompetent and lazy staff makes this place a chore. Maybe I caught them at a bad time but the cashier was so rude and slow it really made me annoyed along with the 5 or 6 people behind me. 2 lightly toasted bagels took more than 10-15 minutes and it wasn’t that busy at all. This used to be my go to breakfast spot but the staff have turned me off
Salmon sandwich was incorrectly made, but i didn’t realize it until after a few bites. The woman corrected it, but only giving me a new bagel (not the sandwich) and making me feel like I was trying to get a freebie. I’ve been a customer for 15 years for this? I haven’t been back since November 2020.
Called on a Sunday for a pickup order. Was put on hold for almost 19 minutes (which was really just the phone off the hook) and I heard at least 4 orders get put in and rung up while I waited.I started driving to Manhattan Bread & Bagel while I waited (only 15 minute drive)Then they hung up.No response, no hold on just another minute, nothing.Minutes from arriving (the whole reason you call ahead). So I called back and was about to be put on hold again. I tried to talk to the person and explain I was on hold for several minutes already. I continued on to say I only needed 2 dozen bagels, thats it.The person said yeah but itll still be 20-30 minutes, super busy. For 2 dozen bagels....These guys cant be serious.I had just arrived and saw how many people were waiting, about 4-5 people in line. This could have been avoided if they talked to people on the phone with respect.A simple heads up, were busy this might take a while would have helped, but no only after 20 minutes and being hung up on did I then get a rude explanation for lazy work ethic.I took my business to another bagel shop on the way home and see no reason to return.
Shout out to Manhattan Bread & Bagel. They were able to drop off lunch to the many health care works at LA USC Medical center. The salads that were dropped off were absolutely loaded. I had the delicious Chinese Chicken salad. Included grilled chicken, nice green crisp romaine lettuce, green onions, carrots, toasted almonds, chinese noodles and the perfectly made Asian dressing.Thank you Manhattan B&B
Manhattan Bread and Bagel has been one of my favorite breakfast spots for 7 years. My favorite items are the vegetable frittata and their bread pudding served with real maple syrup. They also have awesome sandwiches, salads, scones, cookies, muffins and of course delicious fresh bagels. It is a true breakfast treat.
I wanted to send food to a grieving family, knowing that--at times like that--not having to think about preparing or procuring meals, at least for a few days, can be a great comfort. Kristin in the Catering department was SO helpful in assisting me in choosing the best components to send; she packaged everything in re-sealable containers so the family could make sandwiches and then easily pop everything into the fridge. She had practical suggestions, priced it very reasonably and and was able to have it delivered the same day I placed the order. HUGE thumbs up for Kristin and the folks at Manhattan Bread & Bagel!
Before entering the House of our Creator we felt to need to stop here for brief second when carpooling we never ignore the most Important meal of the day as simply a divine of small portion of Our Lords body of Christ as which it is written once a day is surely be of calm balance in daily Breaded on his beliefs Bible studies sessions as well Car as We Listen Stevie on are ride to church at the age
The food is tasty but I was very disappointed with online ordering process after I put my whole order then I went to pick up the food, I was told most of the items are unavailable and need a day in advance, which was ridiculous. You either provide online ordering or you dont if you cant handle it.

2021-08-04The egg bagel was definitely interesting but not my cup of tea. The scone I had was excellent. I would definitely want to come back to try some of their other options. The place was packed with tons of customers when I went on a Saturday morning.

2021-05-17Phenomenal NY Style Bagels. The Garlic and Poppy were just perfect. The great crust on the outside protects the soft, chewy center. The 2nd picture is of the lox and cream cheese. The salmon was the best weve had on this one-month road trip around Southern California. What gave this five stars was that the general manager, maybe the owner, was working the register on this busy Sunday. It seemed that he had less than an entire staff today, given the long lines. I saw him run around and do everything, even empty the trash bins as they were filling up. This place was mobbed!Bonus, they do fresh bread every day, see picture, so they are more than a bagel shop.

2022-03-26Bagels are good, but the coffee drinks are enormous, and not in a good way. Medium cappuccino is 16 Oz, which makes it just taste like dirty milk. If I’d wanted a liter of milk I’d have ordered something else. Service is also notably slow, it took 20 minutes from walking in to get my bagel, and they were only two people ahead of me in line

2022-06-12It was busy as usual. My chicken salad was ok but more like just backed chicken between bread. My sons bagel with tuna was according to him delicious. Although busy the line moved quickly

2022-07-14I love New York style bagels (boiled first then baked) but most bagel shops skip the boiling. Manhattan Bread and Bagel does it right. Good sandwiches too. I like cranberry/flax and eight grain bagels and bialys.

2020-08-22Under filled and over priced.Ordered two salmon bagels, and to my disappointment, the salmon, onion and capers contained was a joke (pictures attached). The bagel tasted of cream cheese and tomato only, you’d be hard pressed to identify any taste of salmon or onion.

2021-11-02Outstanding service with a smile. I haven’t been in years. I often go to Noah’s bagels. I remembered how I loved Manhattan Bread and Bagel. Walked in around 1:30 pm. The bagel shop looked closed. I asked a young man on the bakery/deli side whether I could purchase bagels. His attitude was bright and positive, “sure I can”. I walked out with my bagels. I’ll be back soon!

2020-12-13I hate giving bad reviews.I phone ordered a lox (they may call it smoked salmon) sandwich on an egg bagel, no cream cheese, lightly toasted, and normal everything else. I repeated it 3 times. After the nice lady called me back (because she thought I wanted to add egg to my sandwich and “didn’t ask what type of bagel you wanted”) I arrived to get a burnt bagel light on salmon, extra tomatoes, extra capers, extra onions.I’m giving 2 starts as the lady was nice and the fish is good quality. Otherwise my I can’t eat this because the bagel is hard!
