Had an awesome experience there today. I found everything I was looking for to make some home repairs. There was a guy with a long beard and cap on who was very polite and helpful. I think his name was Will or William. Then there was a line at self check out but a nice guy named Andrew brought us to his register. Great customer service and he was super friendly. These are two people you need to keep Lowe’s. I will definitely be coming back because of the service.
This was a large store for a city the size of Merced. It was well organized and had exactly what I was looking for. Employees were helpful and quick although the store may have been a little understaffed. It was a Monday so there may have been more business than they were expecting. Exiting the parking lot to the South is a pain in the butt.Visited again. Stores as clean as ever. Cashier was friendly. No lines. They could afford to get the shopping carts out of the parking lot more often but finding people these days for work like that is incredibly difficult. they get a pass
Horrible! Dont waist your money! Run the other direction!I have had repeated bad experiences with this store. They have perminently lost me as a customer. The worst experience was when I decided to get carpets installed because they have a variety to choose from. I waited two months and they didnt show up as schedule, no one called me. I went to the store that same day to find out what was going on and was told no one that could answer my questions. I spoke with the store manager he agreed to pay any additional cost I might aquire due to the contacting floor installer not showing up, he never returned my messages after that.I eventually got a hold of the floor contacting company to get a new date. There rep. Was very rude. At one point she imitated my tone of voice because she was obviously upset that I had spoken to a manager after they didnt show up. I am nowhere near being a Karen. I treat costumer service reps with respect and I expect the same if Im giving you my money. The carpet installers had to go on a date I wasnt home i agreed because I had been waiting for over two months, I found scratches on my other new floors when I got home.Never order online. Never use there pick up services. They never honor there prices and items online are not a reflection of whats actually available.I hope this review saves you all some stress and money.
I love love love lowes. Although I went like 30mins before they close and the girl that I asked for help she checked the system and said there was nothing left of what I was looking for. I was amazed because the day before I say a bunch. She said they didnt know when they would bring more as they bring it once a week. I left disappointed but decided to go around in the area I saw them the day before and everything was dark but guess what! There were over 20 items left. She lied to me. I returned to the store and told here she lied to me and I needed 10 of those urgently. So she got two guys and they helped me load them into my car.Please, continue to be trustworthy. I like this place and I dont want to feel again that I cannot trust when they tell me that they run out on an item Im in need of.
Most everything you buy their falls apart. My son buys a grinder there and literally had to take it back the next day because it broke. And then he took a second one back for some electronic issue wasnt working. Lots of things though. Slightly cheaper than Home Depot on most things
Full disclosure... I worked at Home Depot for fun years ago. Lowes has better plants than Home Depot, and is, from what I have seen, well stocked and clean. This applies to the Central Valley, San Jose hardware big box stores were pretty bad at all levels by comparison.That is about it... Lowes is for regular folk, HD for contactor types. Different vibe.
Compared to their competitor Lowes employees does know there product and knowledgeable.Granted i was provided an incorrect breaker the first run but that was my fault I should have told the gentle men that I cut the neutral panel wired so it wasnt his fault. He still apologized which he did not need to do.Anyways he help me find the 20amp afci breaker and no more trips on the circuit I upgraded.
Worst service ever, Kitchen cabinets are great, Erin is amazing! BUT the installers Armando and Eric are the worst bad actitud workers, They complain about stuff that is part of their work, there’s no coordination between them so the delay of having it fully installed was a pain. I am paying more than 20thousand so do your work and don’t tell me that you will have to change the position of a pipe, that’s your job. I would not recommend it at all. Go to another place.
OLDER STAFF RUDE, YOUNG STAFF MORE WELCOMING. Found what I needed, but the older staff is not very welcoming to customers. In fact I had one of the older associates blonde lady in her late 40s early 50s smirk at me and come at me sideways with some statements. Look lady youre in the department with a lowes vest on Im gonna ask you for items I cant find. The younger staff very welcoming and helpful though.
This stores has the worst customer service I want to put a couple of employees on blast but I’d rather not. The attitude I get when I make returns is supper poor and no excuse to talk to customers the they do. I also didn’t know that you can’t return a item if you didn’t purchase it from this store. Won’t even give you store credit. Pro desk needs some help also seems like if I don’t spend over a certain amount they really won’t try to help you. If I can rate this store a zero I will. It’s so sad that the only time I every seen most of the employees smile is when the regional manager visited the store a few days ago.. they need to do the show undercover boss In this store to know the true of how they really are.
Worse customer service ever, good luck trying to reach a manager. I ordered tile on July 5th today is August 7th still no answer on where my tile is. Last Monday it was “on a UPS truck”. This past Monday it was “on a Fed X truck” so where is my order? No one knows. Pretty sure I’m just being lied to, my contractor is hanging in the balance. WTH? Find another store to purchase from and save yourself a lot of grief. I will never shop here again.
Husband went in 3x times , asked for help and each time the employee said I dont know and said check in that side (then points) why hire people who treat your customers like that? All he needed help with was fining a single bolt he couldnt find ! Employees need to be retrained ....
I Purposely parked at the garden door because of an injured(wraped) foot AND saw the sign that said they close at 8pm, (I arrived at 5:45ish), I asked to get help to find the gardening items I needed then walked up to check out to find the register and garden door were now closed. I not only was put out by this considering there wasnt a sign stating that this door would be closing at 6, but I now had to walk all the way to the front inside the store and then out all the way back to my car (by the garden door) ON my injured foot. Im really not liking the quality of new help these post-quarantine businesses have now, it feels like they dont receive the appropriate training and leave their public with the feeling that they dont care. Its in the little things, like a sign that the door would be closed at 6, so I could choose another parking spot...or...
I always have lots of projects going on around my house and Lowes is the place to go to pick up just about anything I need. Whether youre retiling, re-carpeting, building a little shelf, need some glue or screws or Nuts and Bolts or need a new tool they have it. Just about anyting I can think of I can get it there even batteries for my remote control. The people working there are very helpful. You can stop just about any of them and ask them for help and they will just drop what theyre doing and go help you find what you cant find. They will cut your wood the length you need if you need a piece of wood. They will help you understand how something works if your a little confused on how a certain tool works. Me being a 71 year old senior theres a few things that I do need help with and they are there to help. Id say if youre doing a project thats the place to go to get what you need.
October 2021 update:Today 10-04-2021 I tried to purchase lawn fungicide out of stock online.Customer service sent me a person who couldnt find not even one 10 pound sack despite 48 available per in store inventory. She refused to check if any available outside in garden center and lied that garden center was open suggesting I go there. Garden center was actually closed due to wild fires imposing poor quality. Very useless Lowes employee.I ran in frustration back to customer service to complain and asked to speak to assistant manager who returned with a 10 pound sack from the closed garden center. Enrique the assistant manager has initiative and leadership. Appears the little people at Lowes are poorly trained and lazy.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Past review:Lowe’s employees and customers both fail tomaintain 6 feet of separation and have rude attitudes like ‘what’s the big deal?’. Store manager is too busy to look into matter or return call.I’ll call corporate.
If you buy an appliance from here do expect a lengthy delay. It is best if you went to the store instead of ordering from the website. Customer service is lousy. Lowes will have the other needs such as the things you need for your garden and home improvement.On those appliances I suggest an appliance store that will do delivery. Lowes does not deliver appliances.
Unlike other stores of the same type locally, we are always able to find an employee within minutes. The employees have always been knowledgeable and always more than ready to help. The prices are comparable to Home Depot, which is good, however the service at Lowes is excellent every visit.
This place has gone downhill so fast so quickly its unbelievable. Today I took the only two vegetable plants that werent dead. I urged the garden section to water plants in nobody cared. At least a quarter of their stock will be dead by tonight. I called the store and was on hold for over 20 minutes. I called Corp and has long a wait. Never reached anyone
Very disappointed with this location! Spent $1,300 for light fixtures for a house remodel and was forced to use self checkout. That is absolutely ridiculous. Although I like Lowes, the customer service at this location definitely needs improvement! Im done spending any more money in this town!!
I have been on the phone for over 20 minutes and still havent gotten my question answered. First I was transferred 5 times, trying to get the correct department, then disconnected. I called back asked to speak to Gardening, she went to find the answer after quoting me a price of $79 to erect a 12x16 storage building! WOW what a deal. WRONG! She was gone so long, the call was disconnected. I tried back 4 more times only to be put on hold until I was disconnected again. OMG!!! Terrible Service.....
I went here to buy some Floetrol since its sold out basically everywhere and buying through Amazon is insanely overpriced. As soon as one of the ladies working saw me, she asked if I was looking for something specific. She actually showed me where it was instead of just pointing and giving directions which was nice. Oh and I used the self checkout. They were sterilizing the stations after each use, for those of you who are concerned. Five stars for this visit!
I am always able to find what I am looking for. I also appreciate that they clean the self checkout stations after each use unlike the store in Merced. We will continue to go the store in Atwater during this COVID-19 time as they seem to care more about the customer than the Merced store appears do.
If you need something you can find it.... By yourself... Because the most employees will usually do is point you towards it. Not low quality items by any means and the employees are kind. The staff just seems uneducated about the store and poorly trained. Not a bad place but major room for improvement.
I have been very please with Lowes in Merced. We find almost everything every time for our projects. My problem right now is that an employee, Emma (if I am not mistaken) I understand she was doing her job, but, maybe unintentionally, tricked my mother to open a Lowes Pros credit card, despite the fact that she already had the Advantage card. I was unable to go with my mother that day and Emma dazzled my mother with saving like $200 on her purchase. One, she did not tell my mother that this would mean it is another account. Now she has 2 account to deal with. Two, the promotion expired in less than 90 days, now, my mother is stuck paying back what she supposedly saved. I understand that no one forced my mother, but I hate when people take advantage of the naiveness of others.
Harassed and followed by workers and manager throughout visit while browsing and selecting items. When asking for help locating items or the availability of items in stock I was rudely ignored and given incorrect information. Cashier in lumber dept. was only employee that was kind, helpful, and professional, the only reason I did not give a 0 star rating.
As always, Matt (store manager) and his team treat me as a valued customer. I went in for a deep socket in tool section and was helped immediately by a knowledgeable staff, as she knew exactly where to take and assist me. Food my product and moved quickly through the self checkout.
I order freezer that Lowes had for sale in Jun till now after three month later Im still waiting and meanwhile they start charge my card int. even I didnt received my merchandise keep call store and put on hold for long time and no answer. I will never order from them any more. I miss SEAR ....
I waited 20 minutes to get help with key copies. Ladies from the customer service area were helpful in calling for help. Associate by the name of Sylvia was the one responsible for isle 3 on 7/31/2020 at approximately 2:50 PM. She grabbed my key, spoke no words to me after being called twice to assist in the area. That’s fine, we all have bad days and I work in customer service myself. However after waiting 20 minutes for Two keys, a small acknowledgement would’ve been more than enough. The standards for common decency (especially in the work place) should never be disregarded. Terrible customer service and rolled her eyes the entire time while complaining to other associates that were passing by while she was processing my keys. Please do better or give Sylvia a longer break.
I had a great experience today! I do everytime I go into this store!! I asked one guy where a certain product is and he couldnt escort me because he was helping another customer..but he explained exactly where it was..so easy to find. The store was clean! The aisles were free of clutter. There were enough associates to get assistance anywhere if I needed. Cashiers were friendly and the dept. Mgr. Of the lumber side was very friendly! Great job Lowes!🙌
Workers in lowes are amazing at trying to help you find what you want, but the app is okay its not updated because I went to the store looking for a drill and their was 3 on the lowes computer 2 available on my phone. And in store theirs none, all workers that tried to help me find the drill where extremely helpful and patient, but they blamed it on grab and runs robberys in store but that doesnt mean u can update the computer to say outta stock , but everything else was a amazing experience
This review is evaluating the garden section. Ive been looking for a Valencia Orange since this past summer...and have yet to be able to purchase one. In addition, they put their cherry trees out too late last year. I will admit that I am grateful for the 1 year guarantee as I returned my 2 dead cherry trees today for a full refund...no questions asked. (You will need the tree, the container it was sold in, and your receipt). Normally, I would have given the garden section 4 or 5 stars compared to Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and OSH...but missing the valencia orange has me twisted in a way where Id rate it a mediocre 2 (no naval oranges either)...so a fair overall experience I believe is a 3 star. That being said, I think you will find a healthy selection of options for most peoples backyard gardens/ orchards.
We have been very satisfied with Lowe’s while doing a renovation this last 3 mos. However, they still need to provide item location services at the entry and various other places in the store, much like what malls do at their entries: A computerized Look up service that tells you the location in the store of any given item.
Poorly managed..no customer service. I went to get some bags of mulch. I unfortunately met a really rude cashier AYONMi at the garden section. .she got really upset that I asked her for the receipt and never asked if I need some help with loading. Rude people like her should nit be at the cashiers desk..
I was told my receipt will be posted to my phone or email found neither was true keep your receipt. I went to return something and ask if I had a receipt o gave the card and she couldnt find it wasnt going to even give store credit as if I stolen it. I brought my receipt and manager didnt understand why it showed 1 item on the receipt and not the other product. Keep your receipt dont trust the system.
Today the store was a disappointment. Picked up a water proof box earlier in the day. When I got home I decided it was to small and needed a larger one. This is when things got very irritating. I took my receipt and box to service counter. They accepted the receipt and box, then instructed me to go find another unit. Upon returning to the service desk the person who waited on me was not there at the desk. Then there was a rush of new customers stepping in line. Being I had already been assisted one would think I would be taken in order when I returned to the the counter for the exchange. But then there were two people working with one customer because they were not able to speak English and the employee had to translate to a supervisor type. I finally spoke up after about 10 minutes wanting to just get out of the store. Customer service is dying and it needs to be fixed. Then at first finally after getting somebodies attention they didnt have a clue at first as to what I returned, Orchard Supply needs to make a comeback.
Had the worst experience with Lowes Home Improvement. Beyoooond disappointed. Yes, I want my money back and I rather take my business elsewhere because Lowes is simply disorganized and inconsistent.I order an appliance 2 weeks ago and was told I can expect it Monday the 25. On Sunday, May 24 I get a call from their automated system to confirm my delivery so I confirmed. That night I moved my old refrigerator out and rearrange my whole house in preparation for the delivery. The morning of Monday, I received a call at 8am saying that my appliance will not be deliver until Wednesday the 27th. I explained that I confirmed the delivery and received a text delivery confirmation stating that delivery will be between 8:30am - 12pm. Quite irritated, I just said thats fine and disconnected the call. Today, I called Lowes to explain that I would like my delivery tomorrow to be after 12pm so that it would be more convenient for me. The staff I spoke with instructed me to call their 3rd party vendor because she cannot change my delivery time. I called their 3rd party vendor and I was instructed that Lowes would have to submit a time change request through their request portal. Inconveniently, I had to call Lowes back and explanation my conversation with the 3rd party vendor to the staff. The staff again persistently said she cannot change my delivery time. I then had to give her verbal instruction on how to do her job by going over the request portal process and ask her to put in a time change request. She said she will do so and that I can expect a call later after 4pm from the 3rd party to confirm my delivery time. Around 8:30pm, I realized I have not heard from the 3rd party vendor so I decided to call the vendor. To my discovery I was told that my order is not even on schedule to be deliver until June 5! Whaaaat??? Thats right, June 5! HOW DID IT GO FROM MAY 25 TO JUNE 5?? my same exact question. So I told the 3rd party vendor there must be a mistake because I was told that my order will be delivered Wed the 27th!! The vendor said its no mistake and will look into it further...as expected I was transferred to Lowes store. I reached a staff in Delivery and explained the whole issue with my order. She doubled check her system and said they expect the item on Wednesday but if the item is not in the Truck then it can be longer! Whaaat?? I dont get it! I ordered it 2 weeks ago!! How is this a guessing game of it might arrive or it might not? So now furious, I questioned why did I get the phone call to confirm my delivery? Why did I get the subsequent phone call to tell me the delivery was switched to Wednesday? Why did I speak to a staff from Lowes just earlier in the day and was not informed of this new date in June?? Thats right, there was no explanation for this #poor_customer_service. The staff had No reason (at all) to justify their disorganized system. At this point, I told the staff Ill just cancel my order. Just give me back my money and Ill take my business elsewhere. I requested to speak to a manager who had nothing to say but Im sorry. Well sorry doesnt do it when Ive already moved out my old refrigerator and shuffled my entire house to make room for this delivery only to find out it was baloney! Thats right Lowes Home Improvement Employees.
Curbside pickup is a joke. Called upon arrival waited 20 minutes. Nothing. Called again they said they were working on it. Waited another 20 minutes. Still nothing. Went inside store. Waited in line.they inform me that they were busy. Also informed me that I needed to pickup order at the garden center. Went there and nobody knew anything about my order. Spent another 20 minutes there before I got the order. Lowes has always been my store but probably not now. Home depot?
Horrible experience! Went to go pick up an order for my disabled mother, had her license, her card and my license, but because we have different last names I was not allowed to pick up her items. The worker, Marcus even admitted that if we had the same last name he would allow for me to pick up her order but because we don’t share the same last name I wasn’t able too. Knowing her number and having her card and license was not enough, she had to be there. Had to cancel order and get everything myself even though they had the order in the back ready. I spent the next 45 minutes asking workers where exactly the items were, I was told 3 different locations by 2 different workers. They never offered any assistance to help me find the items and guesstimated where everything was. This “quick trip” quickly turned into a 45 minute long hassle. I’m in customer service and understand bad days but this was too much.
I have been so disappointed with Lowes recently that I have been driving across town to Homedepot, which for me adds quite a bit of time to my errand. They have been difficult to get help, directions or even just answer a quick question. Not too long ago I asked at least 3 employees to please help me when they were through with their current customer, 1.5 hours later and still no help. I drove all the way to Homedepot, walked in went to the area of my troubles and found exactly what I was looking for immediately. I was out of there in record time.
First I will say I loved Lowes because of Jimmy Johnson. Ok not the only reason but ... I like the selection and a great variety. I give it a 3 because when we were in a financial bind in the winter we applied for a credit card and got the money we needed. Paid the card off then I dont know if the company changed credit companies or what, but when our credit got knocked down to practically nothing, it was no longer worth paying that little extra to shop here. Thats not How you treat customers, especially when they are working hard at rebuilding credit. Long story short, Home Depot or Ace is the place from now on.
The lady that helped me find my items was very helpful and was helping 3 customers at the same time. The lady that checked me out?????? Really????? is it debit or credit sir I mean maam! Oh Im sorry, its hot I think the heats getting to me! I couldnt even respond to her. Her complaining was annoying. But calling me sir? Not one thing one me looks like a man. She needs glasses and more customer service training.
I’ve always had a great experience at Lowe’s. I have overheard a man claiming to be a lawyer shaming a couple of the employees for not wearing their masks as well as he’d like them, too. Kenneth R. Mackie was his name. He was being a stick in the mud and clearly felt he is a far superior human being. Like I have already said, the employees have been doing a great job in spite of jerk people who think everyone else should be pandering to them. This will always be my Goto store!
Walking in there were 2 associates on a register we received no greeting. There wasnt any offer of help. I dont know if these people realize that we the customer basically pay their wages and that it would behoove them to make sure the customer feels welcome. After all we do have a choice of hardware stores to shop at.
This evening I went into Lowes and purchased a few things there was an item marked 50% off and the girl asked me did you write this I looked at her and told her well actually today I forgot my Sharpie I could not believe she had the nerve to ask me something stupid like that unbelievable.
I Always get Great Service in the Tool department. Elderly man Employee(w/cane). Can not praise him and the service help he provides for Lowes customers. He should be the Manager of that store. Outside of that Lots has a long way to go. MISSING SIGNAGE Throughout the store! Training and cross training b employees a must. Day shift ok. But the Afternoon/Evening crew. Very little knowledge in departments and product knowledge!
Worst customer service Ive ever experienced especially from the female and Hispanic employees. Ill never buy lumber from the Merced location again. I recommend Going to the Turlock store if you want to be treated with respect by the employees. I Dont understand why Merced doesnt teach their employees how to give good customer service. Seems like its the new normal to hire rude employees nowadays. Merced is like its own little rude universe.
I was there helping a friend chose a good and afordable refrigerator at great prices and delivery. They said delivery will be tomorrow. Everywhere else delivery wasnt till Monday. Lowes wins when it Arrives. At the store the staff was friendly and kind. My friend is a veteran and he also got veteran discount there also. Everything worked out well there. I would recomend Lowes to everyone.
We wanted to purchase $1,500 In products from Lowes. It was as if they didnt care. We waited in the garden center for a half hour for help to purchase a shed and no one showed even after three pages. We waited in the lumber area for at least another 45 minutes after someone was paged, for help with different types of plywood and no one showed. Then we just had to wing it and make uninformed decisions. We took pics of the tickets of various items to the front to purchase and then waited there for another 45 minutes for the Lowes worker to call and try to find the Shed at a different location. The customer service absolutely sucks. They could care less about their customers. If it wasnt the only place I could find with the shed I wanted in their parking lot, I would have gone to Home Depot.
Normally I would have given Lowes five stars but this was a Friday sometime between 4:30 and 5 p.m. in the holiday season and I could barely find anybody that could help me find what I needed so I wandered up and down the aisles looking for a red shirt to ask where could I find a toilet plunger. I also downgraded it because this particular Lowes had Angels and Santa Claus of Color was in 2015 and each year Ive been returning and there have not been any more unless of course is sold out the first day they get there so I was a bit disappointed this holiday season.
At the time of the order via telephone, the clerk was rude that took the order. Clerk also misspelled my name took over an hour to find order. I received no text of confirmation nor pick up. Crystal helped me today and solved all. CRYSTAL made all better. Crystal handled the problem like a pro. Thank you Crystal.
Horrible customer service as well as Im harassed by loss prevention every time I go there .I bought a washer for discounted price ,they said lid latch was broke ,only thing .but when I brought home and hooked up, It sounded like a truck rumbling in my laundry room .it obviously had many issues .so no I wouldnt rate this particular lowes anything more than a star .and thats cuss you cant go lower
For the first time I had a not so pleasant experience in this store, Ive always admired the smile and attentiveness of all the employees, they are always asking if we need any help, with a friendly smile, and usually they go out of their way to take us and show us what we need and answer all of our questions, .However, yesterday, Saturday July 26, between 1 and 3 pm , I was in the paint department and one of the ladies was busy, the other, a young white, pretty girl, with green eyes and a bun as hair do, should not be a costumer service representative, Even though she saw saw that my husband and I were standing at the counter, she went to the back of the isle and ignored us, it wasnt until the other lady employee called her to come and help us, that she came. No smile and not a great attitude either. We definitely needed help because the spray paint is in a locked shelf.This young lady she should be in the back were her attitude does not look out of place and doesnt reflect boredom and dislike for the job shes getting paid to do.I dont usually write this type of reviews but I think one employee can really damage the image of an organization . We were shopping around for carpet and Lowes was our last stop. They have similar, almost identical selection and price to HD but one thing stood out. Customer service. The people at HD were more willing to help us with everything. At Lowes the guy that was helping us literally walked away to help with another customer WHILE WE WERE STILL talking to him! We were in the middle of asking him about padding and he just walked away, I couldnt believe it. We just left after that. Well be going to HD from now on for everything we need for the house we just bought.
Service above and beyond! Customer service center was quick and efficient with my merchandise return. Finding what I came in for was well assisted, when there was no more on the shelf they went up and pulled more from stock. One of the most well taken care of experiences Ive had there.
Frustrating that the employees working returns are not aware of the return policies for the Kobalt tools they sell. The girls at the counter were nice, but uninformed. I spoke with the manager afterward to inform her that her employees were in need of some training regarding the STORES 1-year, no question, return policy on their Kobalt set (not sure if this is still offered). I was met with a lot of attitude and finger pointing about my role in forgetting the charger, which I discussed with her employees. She never assisted me in verifying that the store actually would refund my money. I was very frustrated thinking that Lowes had conned me into buying a product based on the promise that I could return it within the year for any reason. The man in the tool department is the only person who was aware of the return policy and assured that me that I would have no troubles returning the product for a full refund.
Dont expect ANY help from Lowes employees. Laziest bunch of workers, second to walmart. Every now and then youll get a nice one, whether or not they can actually help you is another matter. Often the workers seem angry for being expected to do anything. If they tell you go wait at that department, Ill call someone for you, rest assured theyre blowing you off. No one is coming.Other translations include:Ill call someone to help you load your vehicle actually means #@*! off, we got your money, were done.Yes, Ive called someone for you actually means HA! Idiot. I just want to see how long youll wait before you give up.We dont have that actually means I dont know, piss off.Did you find everything ok? actually meansMy supervisor is in earshot and I have to say this or hear their mouth about it later. Im not actually going to help you with anything you couldnt find.Lastly, and most importantly in my opinion, if you manage to wait long enough and be a loud enough squeaky wheel, and actually finally get some one to help you load and tie down your load, say on the the top of your car or SUV, these people DO NOT know what they are do8. It is more than obvious they were given zero training and as we know common sense isnt so common. They dont know how to safe tie down nevermind how to use ratchet tie downs or even how to tie appropriate knots - swear to God they tied bows like they were tying shoes. Good thing I actually looked everything over before I pulled off. They have designated people that help with loading customers cars, why are these designated people not trained? Its a safety hazard. Step it up Lowes.
The only thing I dont like about this location is the lumber area because to get nails or screws bolts, nuts etc. You have to run all the way to the other side of the store to get them. You would think they would have the hardware section by the lumber section but instead the lumber is all the way to the right and the nails are all the way to the left. Next time Ill be some running shoes and a towel and maybe a compass because the walk is far ;)
The phone answering system is the worst I live a long ways from this location and was told they had this particular item in stock drove 2 hours to purchase this item and I was disappointed that I did not get the item and returned home and have not hot water for at least a week
The only reason it got 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the great deal I got and because when I bought the fridge, the website told me about the energy rebates. After buying the fridge, Merced Lowes just showed up a couple days later to deliver it. No phone call, no email, nothing. They just expected us to be ready for them without any heads up beforehand. I like the fact that they are speedy about delivery but seriously, call to let us know! They gave us an hour to hurry and clean up our old fridge so they could take it away and install the new one. On the website it clearly states that they will give us a call to schedule a time to come by and that theyll call us 30 minutes before coming to give us a heads up. These are really simple things to do.This was my first and last time Ill be buying a major appliance from Merced Lowes. Shop Home Depot instead, they usually have the same deals.
Employees do not bother to come ask if one needs helo..some just sitting around. Or talking to each other..walk past and dont bother to ask if you need help..always have to be standing looking to flag someone to help..or..just one person in certain dept..having to run after an employee to get help and then you have to wait till that person goes and gets the answers..ugh..
Big box store- too big. I have had several issues with them- not cashing a payment making me late, not honoring in store coupons etc. They opened a unit forcing the closure of the OHS unit. Give me OHS any time. Lowes is a pain, but not for me as I cut up my card- never again If I could give a minus # I would
Good old Lowes got practically everything you could think of there and I dont have to travel clear across town if I need just a couple of special items and their parking is a little bit better You dont have to be a pro to park up close I think in everybodys mind when youre buying stuff from a store youre a pro If not you should be treated like one anyway.
What a joke this place is. Very disappointing poor customer service and is and can be difficult to find what you are looking for. People are not very helpful and seem to be busy. This is a huge place but not many people are thto assist you. Prices are about the same as other places. Good parking and easy to locate store.
My single experience with this location was through an online delivery which, as I learned the hard way, shares this particular task with several other Lowes services. So perhaps shopping in the store is a much better experience than what I had with the online delivery. It was cancelled twice due to poor weather conditions. I was supposedly notified of the first cancellation with a recorded phone call by Lowes. So I searched my recent calls a couldnt find Lowes. Only DSI Logistics. Well who the hell are they and how am I supposed to know their affiliated with Lowes? Anyways, one of the Merced managers tells me itll show up on Sunday. Guess what? I didnt. And he told me he would give me a follow up call on Monday. Guess what? He didnt. So I call on Tuesday to cancel the order completely. I call DSI Logistics. They say the delivery is cancelled and that theyll inform the Merced Lowes to call me for the refund. So I wait two days for this magical phone call. Guess what? I never get one. So then I call the Merced Lowes to get my refund. Then they transfer me to the Online Refund folks. 10 minutes later, I get my refund.Lowes, if this is your attempts to keep up with Amazon, youre screwed. I like your company, but you gotta make it easier for us. And your delivery team sucks. Amazon made 3 deliveries to my house while I was struggling to your stuff delivered. Help me out guys 😧
MISTAKEN IDENTITY??Today I was humiliated by several employees who stopped me and told me to leave the store. After being told twice, one employee tells another that its not her and briefly apologizes letting me go. I still felt employees watching me while I shopped .NEXT TIME YOU DECIDE TO COME UP ON A CUSTOMER LIKE THAT BE SURE ITS THE RIGHT PERSON
I recently went to Lowes in Merced to purchase electrical outlets. I went to the cashiers counter to ask for help in the Electrical section. However, I heard the announcement over the PA system three different times, and no sales rep in site at all.30 mins later still no rep, finally got a hold of the manager and explain my case. I told him that his store customer service was very poor, and they should do a better job at tending to customers.
Clean bathrooms are clean good location the employees are somewhat friendly and knowledgeable dont ask to use their blowing machine though its been 3 months since I wanted to use it and still aint fixed its my first place of choice for building supplies only because its closer to my new home
I was put on hold for 20 minutes just trying to get information for the installer to come out to do measurement for my condo. We used Lowes in Fremont before and their customer service is excellent. We decided to use Lowes again in Merced and what a big disappointment ! Got put on hold and transferred so many times and in the end , got hung up. I know you lowes is a big company and perhaps dont care much about customer service. Just so Lowes knows that there are other competitors out there who would provide better service at anytime . My wife spoke to Ana at the Carpet department this am and she said someone will call us back within 15 minutes to let us know if we can get the installer to come out to complete the measurement this Saturday since we are pressed for time. No one called and she tried calling back again, got transferred over and over and finally they put on hold for Dana, the manager for the install department . Well, they hung up on us again . They have our caller ID number to call us back and my wife left her cell number as well. Yet no one called us back . I hope your upper management is reading this review and take an effort to reach out ! Bad customer service !
Highly disappointed with Lowes.. after spending almost a $1,000 there, they couldnt even assemble a cabinet correctly.. the side with hinges has a gap that is 3/4 wide!!Also the delivery process was a HUGE fiasco.. they changed delivery date on me but didnt bother to notify me, then wanted me to just sit around all day on the day THEY chose, waiting for them to show up!! Im glad we have the option of Home Depot in this town!!

2022-03-31Staff is helpful when they have enough employees. We ordered a stove on Amazon and the company canceled on us after waiting 3 months for its eta. We ordered the same one from Lowes and we had it in Just a few weeks. Lots of parking. Nice large garden section.

2022-05-11This stores service quality and selection are in decline for the past few years. The local management does not seem to care much any more. And I could feel that from the atmosphere in the store. Its hard to track down an item and the help to locate the item. When you have problems with the product or service, the management would give you a runaround to wear you down. I would rather shop elsewhere and get better service. Cant wait to see this store shutdown permanently. By the way, those five-star reviews could very well be paid reviews. I would not believe any of them!

2021-10-01I dont give 5 star ratings unless Im very impressed.Lowes is like Walmart and Home Depot rolled in one.Plenty of employees that genuinely stop and answer questions.You ask for a bolt and bang,aisle 12 row 2 bottom shelf to the right ,now thats knowing your inventory,and that was from a girl,lol.I just wanted to look at everything!!

2022-04-10Self check out ONLY! Had problem scanning an item and couldnt get any assistance. When Anthony was done giving directions to another customer, he came to help, but didnt have whatever was needed, so he found someone else, who did get us going. They should have at least one regular checkstand open for hard to scan items.

2018-05-03Well... its a huge hardware store, its a huge corporation and knowing this helps ease my frustration. *Usually* it is pretty good and usually people are decent at cordiality, manners, and giving the correct aisle to find my stuff. Just... When theyre wrong, seems impossible to find another representative and when that person is finally visible and they in turn ALSO give the wrong information, or have no clue, frustration, ire, alas, anger, can and often does rise up.All that being said, it is usually a good place. Maybe they dont train folks too well or maybe some doh dee dohs fall thru the cracks (like in all too many US high school math, science, English, history classes, sigh), but will I go back to the Merced Lowes? Yes. But partially ONLY because the smaller stores are gone, dont have what I need, or the other big name is way farther for me and has the exact same (or worse), issues. Alas, to Lowes we shall go.

I love that I can walk into a specific isle and ask for help at lowes. The workers can take me right to what I need, or they can guide me right where I need to go!
