Absolutely gorgeous! The camp grounds are clean, near boxes at every camp space. Bears spotted in camp almost every day. The roads are very narrow so give yourself plenty of time to drive up slowly and carefully. Yield to busses and big RVs enjoy the beautiful drive. We spotted a bobcat at night when returning home. It was a beautiful creature! Bathrooms were clean and well cared for. Visitors were a bit inconsiderate and parked wherever they felt like and many foreign visitors had no respect personal for personal space. See the Giant Forest before its gone 😞
Very nice campground right next to the river, visitor center, showers, market, and shuttle stop. We saw 2 bears near the campground on our last trip. If possible, try and get sites in the upper loops (80-120), there is more shade and privacy there, plus a lot of those sites are right on the river. The other sites in the campground are kind of close together and have less shade.A few notes: Most sites only have room for one car, so if traveling with a group you might need to use the overflow parking. The extra parking is close by though. Also a lot of the sites can only fit one big tent, or 2 smaller ones. The showers are not available right now and may be down until 2022, the river is right there though and it feels great on a hot day. As I said before we saw bears very close to campground so be sure to put your food in the bear lockers, however dont worry about the bears, they are all black bears and are not a threat to people, no one ever gets attacked by a bear at Sequioa. Lastly, you are allowed to gather fire wood around the campsite as long as its not still alive, in fact they encourage it to help clean up the dried wood, so you might not need as much wood.Enjoy.
Beautiful views from the site! Big sites with picnic tables, food storage containers, and plenty of room. The bathrooms were shut down when we got there, but Portapottys were available. The next morning they only unlocked the womens restroom and locked the Portapottys. The visitors center showers were not open (seasonal or dependent on drought). Shuttle available to different locations.
One of the best campground spots we have ever had! Upper loop is completely different than lower. I would not recommend the lower. Our site was right on the river and was so much fun. Flush toilets and sinks in the bathroom which was nearby. Bear bins at each site. Water right at our site. Would absolutely return and recommend! Showers were still closed.
Lodgepole camp ground is my familys favorite camp site in Sequoia national park. It has an elevation close to seven thousand feet, make it cool even in mid summer, the river running through it provided excellent play area for kids, also a cooling pool for serious hikers. Last not least, it has shower, laundry, and hot food.

2022-06-11Loved the place. We took the spot 128 at the very end of the campground and it was really good, right next to the river and close to the wilderness. Quiet and feels private. We stayed there on June 7. During the day it was very warm even hot, but at night the temperature dropped to 10°. Theres a trail to the Tapokah Falls. Best to go early in the morning when its not crowded. We went at 7am.

2022-06-15Beautiful, serene, relaxing! No cell service which adds to the relaxation factor. Market nearby has food and firewood. Very convenient that the shuttle stops here as well.

2022-06-22I was glad to see a large parking lot for backcountry hikers and day hikers. No cell or 5g service at all, which is expected... but only one pay phone works, and not that well. Glad I took the twin lakes trail head.

2021-11-24I visited here in September. This is a great location to enjoy many trekking trails with giant sequoias. The uphills can be a bit tough because of the high altitude and thin air. The campsite is clean and cozy. Most of the river was dry, but some parts were still flowing, in September. There were bees and flies during the day, so a pop-up canopy with a mesh sidewall would be useful. I also saw a bear walking around. There was a day during our stay when the toilets ran out of water and the campground restrooms were closed from dusk till dawn. (You can use the restrooms outside the campground.)

2021-09-04We were at site #83. It’s close to the creek and was very peaceful. Dedicated parking spot which is very close to the campsite ( so you don’t have to lug your gear around all that much). This was our first time camping and there were no hiccups. There were enough people on the campgrounds to feel safe but the sites were spaced out as well such that it didn’t feel crowded.

2021-08-25Great campsite in Sequoia in terms of distance to all of the trails abs sights. Campsites are way too close together and tightly packed together. We were stuck between two large families with very little area or privacy to ourselves. Have heard some of the other loops are better.

2021-06-12We loved this campground!!!! Beautiful scenery and the campsites are decent sized sites with bear boxes and cement slab for parking. We had a water spiket by our site that was shared with others and the bathrooms were nice and pretty close to our site. This campground is further in when arriving at Sequoia Park so plan so.e drive time to get to it but absolutely worth the drive. Also there are a few trail heads that begin here. Oh and dont get to the site too late as the store to buy firewood closes pretty early. We arrived around 7pm and it had already closed. Wish we had had more than one night to spend here!
