What a welcome relief to auto repair. Found Lam by reading the reviews so I thought it was only fair to return the favor. One of the most honest and fair priced mechanics you will find. We have a Toyota Landcruiser with 140k miles on it. Was concerned when the dealer told me that the rack and pinion steering was gone and needed to be replaced + the brakes. The dealer quoted be $3300. As it turned out Lam did the whole job + fixed a door lock issue for me for $1600. I would recommend this guy to everyone. It is a little shop in not so great of town but the grief to profit is well within balance with Lam! Tom - Long Beach
Highly recommend mr. Lam very honest Fair and will look out for you Vietnamese man was very considerate he fix my 91 Mazda Navajo clutch for $20 is still working I was worried and had been stranded. I told the car to him and took a walk to the bank to get money thinking it would cost hundreds I gave him lots of trinkets and batteries because he charged me so little $20 he said it was a temporary fix but it is still working. I live in Orange County but I will always refer people and bring my cars to miss the lam even though I am in Orange County

Went to him to show some noise coming off underneath my car.When asked to check again he couldnt find it and told me not to waste his time as he has other stuff to do He asked to go to a dealer and ask for the exact problem and then comeback to him.Really???Not only rude but unprofessional I would say.Choice is yours.

I don’t recommend lam auto repair I’m so disappointed what they did to my car not good I bring it back 3 times but same problem linking a lot I thought I could save more money but I was wrong they do valve Adjustment oil pan omg I was panic when someone tells me my car linking a lot oil coming out I drive 130 miles thank god nothing happened to my car and me, meanwhile I’m driving linking a lot oil not burning my car then when I bring it back to complain about why my car still linking what happened they fixed it but same problem the 3rd time they refused to fixes it they blame to somebody finger like in Honda dealer eventually Honda dealer technician they do a good job even expensive but it’s worted so my car ended to Honda dealers to fixed again people think they save money when lam auto repair fixed their car, they do fix car only minor problem, I won’t trust them again to fix my car So totally I don’t recommend to anyone this shop

2021-11-06Absolutely one of the best mechanics I have ever met in my life. Super upfront and honest. I was allowed to bring in parts I already bought for him to work on, turns out autozone sold me the wrong ignition coils. Not only did he have the correct ones on site, but he didnt charge me as much as autozone for them. And to top it off. He insisted I use his personal vehicle to take to autozone to get my refund.

2020-06-26I am baffled how the reviews are so good on this place. Lam is a nice charismatic man, but from my experience has no business running an automotive repair shop.When I dropped my vehicle off I told them that it was stalling at stops (which can be dangerous especially in stop and go traffic on the freeway), needed some air conditioning work, and wanted the dash light to be fixed. My vehicle was there for 2 days before I heard any word from them. I eventually got a call from Lam saying that my vehicle was ready to be picked up. I was confused because he never even called to give me an estimate or what was actually wrong with my vehicle or costs. He just started working on it without verbal or written confirmation. This seems very shady to me. He said they fixed the air conditioning and checked the dash light. He thought the stalling was related to the air conditioning somehow. He charged me $575 for the air conditioning work which he didnt perform. He actually hires someone to come in and do air conditioning for them so I was charged a premium. When I did pick my vehicle up, he flat out told me he wasnt sure why my vehicle was stalling but again thought it was related to the AC.As I attempted to drive my vehicle from his lot it stalled four times in front of him. He gave me a wave a couple times like to take care but doesnt even seem to realize that the whole reason I was there is to get my vehicle running properly.I almost feel taken advantage by this place and by its owner. I would have never approved any work to be done if I knew they werent going to fix the most important issue which was the stalling to begin with. When I first got there a woman pulled her vehicle up yelling saying you said you were going to fix the steering and now its sticking! I can hardly steer and have to get to a very important doctors appointment! I should have just seen this as a sign and walked away from this place.
