We booked a tour through this company as our first experience ever doing an activity in the ocean. Operationally they answered all our questions before we even asked them, had quality gear, very reasonable pricing, and made us feel safe at all times. Our guide (I believe her name was Paige. Apologies, Im writing this a month after the experience.) was extremely informative, full of passion for the ocean, and made the whole experience a 10/10. We saw about a dozen leopard sharks, a few garibaldi fish, a harbor seal, pelicans, cormorants, and a kelp forest. We would gladly go back to do the same tour over again!
Had a great Mother Daughter day. Need to return to take advantage of our survivor discount. I want to bring my husband next time. For us the weather and water were perfect. Our guide was very attentive and shared a lot of information. Such as the history of the cave behind us in the photo below.
I cant say enough good things about La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks. My daughter and I were spending a night in La Jolla so I booked this excursion the day before. They had a June special - if you booked certain time slots, you got a 20% discount - so I booked the 5pm.They ask you to arrive one hour prior to your booked time so we got there about 3:45. One thing youll notice is that there are a lot of kayaking outfits in La Jolla. We stayed at the Hilton Curio (see my review) which is about a 10 minute walk but along the way we saw three other groups of kayakers. The office is easy to find - its tucked away on the second floor above a bar/restaurant. The gentleman at the counter was awesome - very friendly and provided detailed instructions on what we were supposed to/going to do.But our guide, Julia, made the trip. Shes very sweet, energetic, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Prior to heading to the beach for more instructions, she carefully fits you so you your personal flotation device (PFD - basically a life jacket) and helmet fit properly. They have storage lockers in the office so you can stow your belongings as well as changing stalls in case you need/want to change before/after the tour. If you wear glasses, youre required to have the things that clip on the your glasses so they dont fly off your face - but they sell those in the office if you dont any out have time to pick it up elsewhere. They also sell the waterproof phone holders so you can safely take photos while youre out on the water.Once everyone is ready (we had about 15 in our group) we headed to the beach - about a five minute walk. Once there, Julia gave us instructions on how to hold the paddle, how to paddle, reverse, etc. for about 20 minutes - and then we were off. The most challenging part is getting through the waves and out to the open water - but you get plenty of direction on how to accomplish this. You will get wet during this part.Once you make your way 50 - 100 yards offshore, its really mellow and enjoyable. Another guide (I forgot his name) joined us and youre guided around the cove. They do a good job of giving you the history, interesting facts, and wildlife in the area. And just like that, the hour and a half is over. Youre guided back to a point about 100 yards off the beach and you head back in - one at a time (so you dont crash into one another) - and the crew pulls you back to the beach. Going back seems easy but I saw people capsizing - and youll get pretty soaked at this point as well. Once everyone is together, its to the shower area to rinse off and then back to the office. This was a fantastic tour and really do-able even if youve never kayaked before. Almost anyone of any age and physical ability will be able to enjoy this activity. Thanks for a fun afternoon, Julia!
Didnt take any pictures while on the kayaks, too nervous that the phone might get dropped in the Pacific. Did capture some on the beach before we took off. The kayak trip was fun and our guides were helpful and informative. As a novice kayaker, we still got good enough to navigate in one of the sea caves and paddle into a cove right next to seals. We also got to see some lemon sharks and had seals swimming within feet of the kayaks. All in all it was a really fun day on the ocean.
This was a super fun experience, we got to checkout caves, fish, sea lions, birds, and (friendly) sharks. The staff Cyril and Jack were super knowledgeable and excellent guides. Would recommend to anyone looking to have fun; kayaking experience not required. IMO 10 out of 10!
Our guides were friendly, professional and enjoyable to be around. You kayak roughly a mile to the caves where you have a fantastic view of the local wildlife. There came the time to enter one of the caves for an inside view. Our guides told us the risks, and left it up to the individual kayak. I was the lucky one to get capsized by the lone 8ft wave. Our guides were quick to respond, they coached me through the cove and back on my kayak. Scrapes and bruises, but my only regret is being the butt of Cyrils jokes for the rest of his tours.I had a great time and would definitely do again!
What a great experience! I was initially nervous to go and had zero kayaking experience prior. Our guide Jacob was wonderfully informative and helpful so that we knew exactly what to do and how to handle any challenge that might present itself. We saw many fabulous things along the way on our tour and got some great photos in a beautiful sea cave. Jacob provided many interesting details and background about the rock formations, sea life, etc. Highly recommend!!
We chose this company because of its high ratings and their ratings are well deserved. We liked how everyone was very friendly and helpful. They helped us with getting the right equipment, getting in and out of the kayaks, and escorting us around. We liked how our group was smaller than the groups we saw from other companies. This meant we received more attention from our Jacob, our tour guide. We went into two caves and I liked how we went through the caves differently from the other companies. Our tour guide gave us alot of good information and made sure that we were safe when we went into the caves. We saw people from another tour company crash their kayak into the rocks. We really enjoyed the whole experience from beginning to end. I highly recommend this company!
My partner and I were part of a large family group renting and touring on 8/18. The weather was very poor for the experience, very windy and overcast with a large swell. It left water visibility very low, we were unable to see any of the wildlife or features. We were unable to get near the caves let alone in them as advertised. The 90 minute tour only lasted 75 minutes (2:45 til 4pm). Several of the guests experienced discomfort with their equipment, and had no assistance in fitting into their kayaks. My partner is not a strong swimmer and had anxiety over the experience yielding in several of us leaving the tour early with one of the guides. Now, none of this is strictly the companies fault. They still have to try and make a living even in poor conditions, and our guides clearly tried to make the best of the situation, even tho I think they all recognized it was a difficult and uncomfortable experience for many. But when I tried to explain all of these factors to our impression that we didnt necessarily get our monies worth ($100 per person for a 90 minute rental and tour is a competitive rate, but we had barely the experience that was advertised), and would rather get a discount so we could tip our guides better for their labor, I was given a sympathetic it is what it is response, which i thought was below what Id expect from a service based business like this. Based on my experience i would not suggest this activity to beginners in anything short of perfect weather, because the staff arent going to help you adjust your poorly fitting equipment or help you beyond condolences if you dont get your value from their service.
Very friendly staff. Efficient online booking process. We had our small dog accompanying us and they were very accommodating. The tour guides Savannah and Josh were helpful and patient. Got into the caves, saw sea lions and pelicans up close. The guides also shared a good bit of history about the place. Definitely recommend.
Tiny blonde girl made this experience extremely unpleasant from the moment she interrupted the girl with longer brown hair who began to assist us from the moment she got involved we were overcome with disorganization which caused delays receiving equipment and heading to water will never use their services again unfortunate for them her name wasnt provided and blocked name badge unable to be read
Very unprofessional staff. I had booked 4 kayaks for Oct 15. I called their office to cancel one of the kayaks 20 hours before but they didnt pick up. I got a call the next morning (on the day of the rental) and I asked them to cancel the extra Kayak and they said they have done it.A few days later, I asked them for the refund and they said that I will not be refunded for the cancellation. If they would have told me on the phone that I wont be refunded, I could have just converted the rental to single kayaks instead of tandems. All I was hoping for was a little bit of professionalism to remind me that I wont be refunded for the cancellation. You cant expect your customers to always read the fine print. The experience itself was also subpar. Kayaking in the sea caves was less than a minute and most of the time, it was just kayaking in the ocean.
A lot of fun! The guides are great. Helpful & patient w/ new kayakers, interesting info on ecology, and positive energy & enthusiasm. All the equipment is well maintained. The store, changing rooms, and lockers are all nice and clean. Would definitely recommend them. 👍
We had a blast! Just one thing , the guides should have their venmo account attached or something for tips because they do an absolute amazing job 👏 cant wait to see you guys next time! We didnt get to go into the caves but it was still a very awesome experience I took my daughter for her birthday to San Diego and ended up here Im very grateful I found you guys keep up the great work ❤
The group of people that work her are incredible! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the staff was friendly and helpful. Jacob and Greg were amazing, their humor and knowledge of the area really made our kayaking trip fun! Although this excursion was planned for us, I would highly recommend a tour from here!
I booked this tour from the La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks website. I made reservations for the 9/5/21-3:40 pm tour. I’m 70 and my hubby is 73 and thankfully we are in good physical condition. We’ve rented kayaks on the East Coast, and we were towed out passed the breakers, so I assumed that something similar would happen with this tour. Nowhere in the description of this activity does it say that that you will be boarding the kayak while waves are crashing into the kayak without capable assistance l. We capsized 3 times, with only one female to help us during the first two attempts to breach the waves. I was thrown under the kayak and the kayak blocked my way to the surface to get air. We were told before we left the store that we’d get wet up to our waists. Not that we would be soaking wet for the whole trip and both of us lost our RayBans before we even got passed the waves. At the end of the tour we were told to ride the waves into the beach one kayak at a time, but both our guides were already on the beach inventorying the kayaks. Our kayak was launched by a good sized wave and quickly encroached on the kayak in front of us. The nose of our kayak would have seriously injured the young girl in the kayak but for her father shielding her with his body. If we’d been told up front about the reckless way the activity is managed I would have never booked it. Buyer beware. Vicki Sparks
My husband and I went on a kayaking tour with Sea Cave Kayaks (or Super Cool Kayakers -Cambria 😎) as part of our honeymoon vacation down in San Diego. Our tour guides MacKenzie and Cambria made it a really fun experience between their great humor, upbeat personalities, knowledge of the wildlife and some of the history of La Jolla. We did a lot of fun things for our honeymoon trip, but we consider the tour to be one of our top 3 highlights. It was such a unique experience too, it was our first time kayaking, so dont let being a beginner stop you! We felt very comfortable out there with their help. Thank you Sea Cave Kayaks!!
If you are thinking about doing a tour please do it! This was one of the cheaper options, especially if you book online and their web special. We picked a sunset tour but it was overcast so sadly we missed out on that. We were able to go into one cave , not sure if you get to go in more usually, I overheard something about low tides so keep that in mind when choosing a day/time. Our group did a tandem kayak and it was nice that the workers push you out to sea. Parking is miserable so definitely get there early so you dont drive around looking for a spot. Our tour guides Karina and Kai were friendly as well.
This was an amazing company to use for the tour. As a single mom with a young son, I had some anxiety about how this would go and we were so supported through the tour- it was AMAZING. We didn’t flip over once 😂 and the paddling was not too intense, it was definitely easier than 30 mins of cardio.Rick and McKenzie were patient, attentive, and fun guides on the tour. Rick had so much awesome knowledge he shared with us along the way and made sure we safely made it through all the caves while also answering every question we had along the way. 100% would book again, everyone should do this at least once!
This is definitely the best quality place to go cave kayaking with! Jack and Cyril were great guides and worked hard to make sure everyone got to see the leopard sharks, seals, and other wildlife in the water! You can tell they love their jobs and theyre jokes will have you chuckling the entire time! The company is super convenient, right by the beach, and they have everything there ready for you, with a free locker to store your stuff and everything! Even a bathroom and rooms to change if needed. Definitely recommend!!
The best tour group out there! Very knowledgeable, professional and excellent with their groups. Watching the other groups didnt even compare to our guides! Jack was fun , knew alot about the area as well as a good teacher for being successful on the kayak. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this group specifically! Thanks for a great time!
Owner checked us in and was incredibly personable. Or guide Leslie was so eager to share her passion for kayaking and the la Jolla habitats. Beach team did a great job of sending us out and bringing us back in. And of course, the kayaking trip itself was everything you could ask for.Side mention; if youre comparing companies, La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks is the only one that lets you paddle into the cave under your own power (assuming favorable wave conditions). Also, lockers included!
I was initially skeptical about the value of the tour but my wife and two kids thoroughly enjoyed the tour and I would highly recommend it.First, Greg was a fantastic tour guide. He was engaging, knowledgeable and willing to take short detours as needed. We saw 4 dolphins near shore and he guided us off course to take a closer look. It was great! He was knowledgeable about the sea life, sea lions, caves, various birds, and caves. All very interesting.I will also say the facilities were good, offering changing rooms for afterwards and a clean restroom. We met the owner who was very cordial and talked about the store. Very low key and friendly. We would highly recommend them!
Ret and Randy are my new favorite people! I’m not even upset with how sore my arms are today haha. They both killed it with the jokes, fun facts, and the sea cave adventure. We had a LOT of kayaking due to us fighting the sea currents but their jokes and their check-ins kept me in great spirits. They know the right times to pause to get our arms a rest. Don’t be like me and forget to bring a cash tip - you’ll be beating yourself up the whole ride home like I did. Amazing experience. Thank you all!
Awesome experience. I visited on a morning when the sea was quiet so we were actually able to go into the caves. Our guide was Alex and he was amazing. Very friendly with a wealth of information. We saw seals, sea lions, leopard sharks and even a sea turtle. This was the highlight of my trip to La Jolla.
A good event to fill up your half day during your vacation. Decent price. Super energetic employees, they will explain everything to make you feel relaxed even before you ask. Yeah I know you have questions. Cool to be in a cave in an ocean. And listen to Alex. Alex is a good man. Both Alex’s.
The young people that worked here were professional and fun! I felt great about the size of our group compared to the other places. I also noticed the other guides didn’t wear life jackets or head gear like the leader of the Banana Boats. Dylon was entertaining, full of facts and showed us some sea life I am certain others didn’t get the chance to see. I was pretty nervous going out there and the staff on the beach made me feel pretty comfortable. I definitely think these guys are the place to go while in La Jolla and want to get closer to the caves
I absolutely love Ruben and Patrick AKA the Dream Team ! They were super fun, communicated well, highly knowledgeable, highly patient with me during my motion sickness, and overall I truly trusted them while we were out in the middle of the ocean. They hooked me up with a couple of Ginger chews to help combat my motion sickness. I still ended up hella sick though 😆 but they were there to help row me back to safety. My two kids 9&7 loved them and the Dream Team showed my family a lot of love. I appreciate the great vibes bc its already enough BS we deal with in the world. A taste of ocean paradise!! Yall family now! 😆
Spectacular! La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks provides an excellent experience! Their staff was friendly, helpful, and patient throughout the whole experience from booking to after our tour. It was a fun, safe, informative, and enjoyable tour. We will definitely recommend to friends/family and come again ourselves.
Alex was great! A real professional from start to finish with plenty of comedy (dad jokes) to accompany our trip. Ive been kayaking a few times before but this was a really nice and different kind of trip. We were lucky enough to see friendly sharks and falcons and we got to take a brief trip inside the caves. It seems like the tour would be suitable for both beginners and people with more experience. Id highly recommend it over some of the other companies doing similar trips in the area as they seemed to have much larger groups
My wife and I had the most amazing experience today here! Our tour guide, Tim, was the best!! Not only was he super friendly and welcoming, he was extremely knowledgeable about both the kayaks and the city of La Jolla. He made us feel comfortable the entire time. The best part was seeing a sea turtle, lots of sea lions, and tons of fish! We even got to go in one of the caves! Truly incredible!! We will be recommending you guys to everyone! Thank you for such a fun day!!
I really wanted to do the La Jolla sea cave tour the last time I visited San Diego almost 10-years ago, but was not able to squeeze it in. Ive regretted it since, so on this visit I made sure to put this excursion at the top of my list and was not disappointed.I dont have photos because Im clumsy and didnt want to lose my phone, but I loved every minute of my time on the kayak with this company. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable which helped with the experience.La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks is also the only company that allows you to actually paddle yourself into the caves, which was awesome. If planning a trip, go in the morning at high tide for a higher chance to go inside the caves, otherwise the tide could be too low or rough for you to go in.
Alex and Jacob were awesome tour guides! They were extremely friendly and made the whole experience fun, entertaining, and threw in a bit if knowledge about the La Jolla coast. Than you, guys! This company seemed to have the most fun over the other kayaking companies.
We had a great time. Alex took us to see sharks and fish and lobsters in the shallow areas and then went along the caves and into one. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the wildlife and it was interesting to learn and not just kayak out to the caves and back. Other companies seemed to have larger groups, but we enjoyed having a smaller, more intimate group where we could spend more time sitting and enjoying the views and less time waiting for everyone to catch up
Great experience! Our tour guides Sam & John were amazing. They make sure you have a great time by making you laugh. They were very chill with everything and did a great job at teaching us how to use the kayaks. We will definitely be booking at this location again in the future and we recommend them to everyone. Also, please be sure to tip them if you can.
We took the guided sea kayak tour and had a blast. Our guides, Dillon and Cat, were great, very personable, very patient with the new kayakers, and provided a lot of details about the local wildlife preserve. Cracking dad jokes and keeping the energy high. We were able to take a quick trip into one of the caves as well. Highly recommend the company and staff!
Wanted to do something different while visiting my brother and his family in San Diego.... this sea cave kayak tour fit the bill wonderfully. First it was fabulous getting out and doing something I have never done before. Our guide made sure I knew what I was doing and how to be safe the entire time. Kayaking on the ocean gave me a whole new perspective on La Jolla. Throw in the seals that are swimming around, you end up with a great day.
Didnt get to go inside the cave, I called and asked ahead about going inside the cave they guy said its dependent on the sea and will only be able to tell at the appointment. The guide on the tour mentioned later in the tour that they havent been inside the cave for the past 3 months, and that winters in not a good time for going inside the caves. Seems to me like they knew it all but lied about it just so that they can get money out of people. Its practically going kayaking in the open sea and paying for way too much for a kayak. They also pull stuff like you have to pay for a type of kayak and later on ask you to switch kayaks to cheaper types and not refund you the money.
Look kayaking is fun right especially in beautiful places. What’s not fun is these guides acting like you enlisted for the Navy. Do yourselves a favour and just rent some kayaks and do the area on your own time. Theres not much to this area and I wouldn’t be intimidated without a guide. Overall this company is good and I can’t say I didn’t have fun but the guides took themselves far to seriously which kind of retracts from the overall experience. If your like me and just want to take your time and really soak it up take a firm pass on a guided tour and do it yourself. If your a little intimidated by the water these guys will keep you safe safe safe!
La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks was a great choice for one of our honeymoon adventures! Everyone was so friendly and informative since we have never been kayaking before. The staff calling us by name and explaining about the area and giving tips on where to go for other adventures! Luke our tour guide was so friendly and patient with us and took the time to answer questions from all of us! We all on the tour hung together.. laughed and had a great time! We were all like family at the end of the tour giving hugs and wishing each other well!
While a bit pricier than surrounding companies, the group was a lot smaller and the guides very friendly and informative. We were only in one cave for about 1-2 minutes and our guide did not talk a lot about the other caves, but we did get up close to the wildlife and were well instructed in kayak maneuvering. Overall a lot of fun and I would recommend this company.
Had an amazing kayak experience with Templeton and Alexis yesterday. They were super knowledgeable and gave history on the area and wildlife as we went along. We even saw a whale and lots of other marine life. Really made our San diego experience memorable. Thanks guys, you rock!
We came down to La Jolla wanting to kayak and happened upon this spot. Best impulse decision of our trip! Well worth the money to have a guided tour of the area, plus we saw sharks, dolphins, and tons of fish (would still get five stars if we didn’t see anything). The guides were really friendly and kept us safe while making sure we had a lot of fun.
Absolutely GREAT experience. Staff was very knowledgeable and super friendly. Lockers are FREE since you will get wet :). Our guides were entertaining and made the tour fly by (thanks Cyril and Megan!). Was able to go through 2 caves and saw Garibaldi and sea lions. Worth every penny!
If you are a novice to kayaking, pay close attention to the paddling technique instruction before you depart. Once in the hands of your guide, you will experience our rocks, our water and our animal life, all so unique and gorgeous. Its a once in a lifetime opportunity.
This tour is a great opportunity to get out on the water and see the coastline from a different perspective. You can get so close to the sea lions! Natasha and Adam were the tour guides and they did a great job keeping the group together, giving specific instructions to follow and telling us information about the sea and coastline. I had never been kayaking before and I did just fine, so don’t let inexperience stop you from doing this!
This was an extremely fun experience! Our guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and the kayaks were a blast to explore the coast with. While on the tour, we learned anout the local ecology, history, and some fun anecdotes, all while taking in the scenic coastal view and watching the sea lions play. Highly recommend this tour to anyone!
What can I say, the staff was extremely passionate about their work to include alex our tour guide! A subject matter expert not with kayaking and geoscience, but puns too. Very informative and while other kayak tours went straight from the beach to the cave, we went along the different districts of marine life located on the la jolla shores. Had the opportunity to see a sand shark and a male seal to swim next to us. Alex, blonde one with dont panic on his legs, was observant and made sure of our safety.
I was feeling sea sick and also was having a reaction to sun screen lotion when we were near cave . On mentioning about it , we ( with wife and kid)were told paddle through all the way back when the expectation was they could keep a better option for such situations. Also when we struggled some how to get to the shore we were slightly in the swimming zone , the staff swam towards us , asked us to paddle through back to non swimming zone when she could have easily guided us to shore. All in all, yes if everything goes well then it’s a good experience but for emergencies, they can do better.
Our guides, Alex and T (Tytan?) were so awesome. Ive never been kayaking in the ocean so it was a real treat when we got T as our guide. He was kind, friendly, informative, and corny. We loved his jokes! Unfortunately we couldnt enter a lot of caves due to the waves, but it still a great experience, We got a great deal through Groupon. so if your on a budget vacation I highly recommend looking for that Groupon post.
This tour was absolutely amazing. After hearing some mixed reviews about the other tours, (there are 4 to choose from) we went with these folks. Sam, our guide, was not only friendly, outgoing, and knowledgable but made us feel safe the whole trip. Even if youve never kayaked before, rest assured these guys will take care of ya and not let u down. Thank u la jolla sea cave kayak tours for being the best bet and keeping us safe! Much love, the McParlands.
This was SO much fun🛶🚣🏾♀️❤ Sam and Ryan were sweet as could be🥰 Wether you were a novice or a veteran; their instructions were easy to follow, so you wouldnt feel overwhelmed or intimidated. Though we werent able to venture into the caves, that was ok👌🏾 Safety first⛑ It was high tide and the waves were choppy. No need to go white water rafting when I signed up for kayaking lol😆
This place is beautiful. Clean, family friendly, great outdoor to relax and enjoy San Diego. La jolla is full of life everywhere you look and seeing Leopard Sharks from up close was a treat I won’t forget. If you can, go out with a tour company and see the caves. Place is rich and full of historical value. Besides... you get to see the cliffs from another angle and have a better chance of seeing more wildlife. During whale season, I hear this place gets supper busy. Parking is not your friend here.. so carpool or uber to la Jolla and you won’t have to worry about your car.
Absolutely fantastic experience with La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks. Cyril and Jesse were our guides. Cyril was very knowledgeable and flexible to what the group wanted to see and do. We went into one cave with Jesses help. Saw lots of leopard sharks and sea lions. The whole experience was smooth and very enjoyable. Definitely recommend SCK to anyone interested in kayaking in La Jolla. The company was great to work with from start to finish. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The group size was perfect - not too big and not too small. Amazingly, Cyril remembered everyones name from the start and was able to talk to you by name during the tour. We will definitely be back!
Can I do zero star? Tour guide was annoying and told the longest worst facts along the way.Took 1.5 hours to get a 30 minute trip done.Waves were too rough and we couldnt even go into caves (the entire purpose for the tour), and of course they wouldnt give us a refund %. Oh and I forgot to mention they knew the caves were inaccessible even before the tour started, probably even before we paid for it. Just sad when I could have done so many other amazing things in San Diego.
I went on a sea kayaking tour on Sunday morning and had Chuck and Josh as tour guides and it was wonderful!! Chuck had extensive knowledge of La Jolla and its waters and topography -- I learned so much and those guys truly took care of us. I had an amazing experience and I hope to be back one day. Thank you all!!
LA Jolla Sea CavesA must see when in San Diego$$- Sea Caves, Beautiful Views, Blue water, Kayaking, great staff, & tour guides.Nice place for a date, or family outing, or just enjoying the day out with friends.Really cool Sea Caves, bring a camera for some great picture taking here.Enjoy this hot spot..
The website tells you You can leave a towel and dry clothes at our shop along with anything that cant get wet such as cell phones, pagers, electronic car keys, non-waterproof watches, and non-waterproof cameras. PLEASE be sure to leave them with us for safe keeping or purchase a waterproof container for them at our shop. then they charge you for it. I ask for a manager nobody showed up. I just work here I dont know anything answers are common. Then the place gets shutdown because of a shark scare. Just wasted half a day of my vacation.

2022-06-13Stop researching, I did it for you, BOOK HERE. My son and I had the best time kayaking! We didn’t go in the caves but it was still totally worth it and so much fun! Everybody at this place was so helpful and welcoming. Cyril (I probably messed that spelling up hardcore) was an amazing guide and we were super lucky to have him to ourselves. If you read this, thanks for showing us the rope swing (and everything else). I went on it the next day and it was super awesome, biffed kind of hard but we went snorkeling after to rinse off the mud haha!

2022-02-08Our family had a great time adventuring by kayak. The whole experience was really smooth, from check-in and the free lockers to getting suited up with life jackets and helmets, to learning how to kayak and launching, everything was well coordinated and easy. We explored the cave areas, saw several leopard sharks, seals, fish, birds and learned a ton. Claire was the best guide! She taught us so much and made the trip so much fun for everyone. Highly recommend.I also recommend getting a waterproof pouch for your phone, $15, which they sell at the shop when you check-in. We got a lot of good pics and video with it.

2021-11-26I see why La Jolla is an iconic place according to Google! We chose to do a guided kayak tour of the area and it was an amazing experience. We saw leopard sharks all around us in the shallows and battled waves as we viewed the caves. Such a cool experience that I highly recommend doing with this company!!

2022-03-03My tour of the sea caves was great! The staff were very helpful when it came to safety, proper fitment of gear, and any questions or concerns we had. We had a safety meeting with our tour guides on the beach before setting out. There are also staff to help you get into the kayak and away from the shore. The tour itself was great. I was able to see a good bit of wildlife, kelp, and a close look at the caves. One of which you can go into with their help if you want. I never felt unsafe during the entire tour. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a fun tour along the coast line.

2021-09-05This activity was crazy fun and thrilling. Ive been kayaking before but never in the ocean or a cave for that matter. We went with guides in groups and actually made a few acquaintances. I almost backed out of doing this but am glad I had the experience. Will try again one day!

2022-05-03Had a fantastic time Sunday with Christian and Quincy! The weather was cold, windy and the surf was big. But the guides were funny and informative and very friendly. We got soaked to the skin but it was so much fun! We will definitely do it again! Sorry...no pics... the guides suggested that, because of the surf conditions, our phones would probably end up at the bottom of the ocean!

2022-05-26My husband and I were honeymooning in San Diego and kayaking in La Jolla was top of the list for us. Our experience with La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks was excellent, from start to finish. The folks at the shop were helpful, and our guides made the trip so memorable. It was the highlight of our vacation, and we cant wait to come back!

2021-10-15Great time. Charles and Cambria took time to interact with everyone and encourage when needed. Took time to answer questions and give local stories and information. Would recommend it to anyone interested in these types of activities.
