Facility is ok, staff is very pushy when it comes to trying to get customers to sign up for their personal training programs. (No means no). They also have “raffles” to “win” a COMPLEMENTARY Personal training session which EVERYONE who places their names in “win” and if you decline to sign up for PT’s during the initial COMPLEMENTARY Training “evaluation” they won’t give you the COMPLEMENTARY personal training session you “won” lol. They also call your plus ones if you mention any; which was very embarrassing for me, they don’t tell you that they plan to contact them (very sketch.)Customers don’t often wipe down machines after using them which is gross, (it’s not a political or covid thing it’s just a don’t be gross and why didn’t your parents teach you courtesy and hygiene thing) it’s common gym etiquette.Other than that it’s an OK gym. I signed up due to location, if there were a different gym along my way to and from work with similar amenities I’d probably go there.
Been going there for years! Great gym and affordable membership. I pay $25 per month, not too bad. Good equipment and a pool and a basketball courts. They also have daily classes such as aerobics and yoga. Avoid going there between 4pm and 8pm since thats when its the most crowded and all the machines are taken. Early mornings are best to get access to all machines.
I recently moved to the City of Alhambra therefore going to LA Fitness in Glendale wouldnt work for me. I have been coming to this gym for the past 2 months. I love that is convenient very close to my new place but I have to say this gym is by far the dirtiest gym Ive been to. I dont ever see any janitorial workers on floor cleaning any of the machines, the machines always look that theyve never been wiped. I dont see any janitorial workers vacuuming the areas, wiping the mirrors, trash is always over the top. The restroom floor is always wet & smelly. They dont even have a Sauna room (thumbs down)
This particular gym can be a hit and miss, sometimes its clean and when its dirty, it is severely dirty, the equipment they have is just what I need, no complain there, the best part of this gym is the day care, my daughter seems way more happier than me when we leave. Not a bad gym at all but there is way better down the street.
This is the LA fitness I go to most frequently. I havent had hard time accsseing the equipments even during busy hours at evening. They provide classes til late night (later than other LA fitness) and the space usually doesnt get too crowded. Although the floor of the woman restroom is wet, which requires some cautions, I feel their staff are cleaning and refilling papers constantly, which is helpful!
Love hate relationship with this gym. Good part is that they have tons of different machines to workout on. Downside is atmosphere of the gym. Sometimes its great when everyone is working out. Other days its like gossip session night. Its like are you here to workout or chit chat with your friend on the treadmill.
This is one of the older gems of LA Fitness for the area. But it does have everything that you would want LA Fitness. Even though you wouldnt be able to tell by looking at the front of it does have a basketball court as well as the studio on for classes. It does have something unique in the fact that it does have a outdoor swimming pool which is nice to have. The gyms always smell like chlorine but its to be expected but luckily its not as bad as some of the other locations given that the pool is outdoors. The staff is always nice but some of the equipment is on the other side compared to some of the newer gyms out
This LA fitness is not the most modern compared to the main fitness locations on the area, but Ive still been coming to this one for years because it does not get as crowded as the others. Perhaps thats due to the different layout and three floors this fitness has. Most of the cardiovascular machines are located on the top floor like the treadmills and stairmasters. There is also the huge room for classes held throughout the day. The instructor for the classes are usually upbeat and friendly, a least for the class Ive taken. The middle floor consist of all the machine workouts and a basketball court. There are mats and some cardio machines on this floor as well. The bottom floor is where all the free weights, four racquetball rooms, benches, and a squat rack (2 if you use the shoulder press rack). Recently they converted two of the racquetball rooms to a cycling and personal training room which is great because it created more space for everything else. Overall, this LA fitness is great and convenient to get a quick workout in after work hours since it does not get as crowded as the other fitness locations.
The staffs there are really bad. They will cheat you when you ask about the costs of membership. After you joined the club, everything changed! One kind of annual fee coming, one kind of membership freeze fee coming... Especially you need to be careful with the guy who can speak Chinese. He told me no extra fee, no nothing... Now, everything comes!👎👎👎
I would love this gym except the mens bathroom has a bad stall door and the floor is always wet (I blame the wet floor on the gross people that drip all over it instead of toweling off). The temperature by the cardio machines is always super hot, please cool it down with AC or get some powerful fans!
This is by far the worst LA fitness Ive ever been to. I travel for work, so I see many. I was there at 5 am and the place was an absolute disaster. Weights and trash everywhere, sweat stains from the previous day on all the equipment, and a general dinginess to the entire weight room. You can forget about doing any sort of overhead press unless youre a midget, since the ceiling is about 7.5 high, couple that with the thick musty air wafting throughout the space and you can almost bet on feeling nauseous and claustrophobic. Absolutely disgusting. And the patrons while I was there told much of the story.
A passable gym. Has everything you need, but not much variety. The weight rooms get kind of stuffy because theyre on the lower levels and dont get much ventilation. The facilities are really showing their age, and the layout makes everything feel cramped. Honestly, I only ever come here because its walkable from my condo; the LA Fitness on Fremont is much better.
This place is always dirty. I dont think anyone cleans the machines or re-racks the weights EVER. People chit chat and use their phones on the machines and there is no supervision on the floor. Overall, people have terrible gym etiquette here and its very dirty. Only come here because its the closest location and I dont have a car right now.
They have what you need. However the stair way and elevator smell like urine. And its been like that since I joined. Also the crowd there walks around in the locker room with no attempt at modesty. Little Asian dudes just walking around dripping wet from the sauna or pool letting it all sag out.
The management was the worst Ive ever had in all the gym I went to. Theyre rude, insensitive, uncaring. The thread mills are always dirty. Therere always dirty tissues in the cup holders in most of the machines all the time. Ive never seen anyone cleaned the machines. Only the floor. The cleaners briefly mobbed the floor. The management team just sit there all day and do nothing. Therere also no proper weights in the weights area. If you ask for anything, the manager will tell you you complain too much. I guess they just want to get paid and do nothing. I wish I didnt prepay. I am seriously thinking about just lose the prepaid amount and switch to a different gym. LA Fitness, shame on you for having such a bad management team!
My son and I joined the membership of LA FItness at the end of May last year. The staff providted us wrong information. He said we can prepay monthly. And if we stop husing the gym,the membership will be canceled and we have restart our membershipb if we want to use the gym again. We used the gym for about four month and I prepay every two months by cash. Then we have not been there since last October. But I was charged every month until now. I did not find that until last week. So I went to the gym to ask for refund. But the staff said they will charge every month unless I cancel the membership. We did not use the gym does not mean we do not have to pay. It is quite different from what they said at the beginning. I think what they did is really bad and I was cheated so I cancel the membership immediately. The sales person told us that we can pay by cash monthly and we said we would pay using that method considering we was there for only 4 months. We only paid the fee of enrollment and first two months worth of money using credit card. But what we didnt know was that they kept charging us through my credit card. Also, there is no notification for the payments at all even from the beginning when we started the membership. Now the manager said its included in the agreement I signed before, but the sales person misinformed us by saying the contrary. As a result, the manager stated that it was our fault. Dont fully trust them.
Horrific customer service and more importantly they cheat to take your money. We had heard complaints before but did not believe that such a large chain would do this but LA fitness proved that customers were saying the right things - they are swindling money by taking the last month in advance at the time of first payment but then the catch is that you have to cancel around 60 days earlier than your last day of leaving else they will also charge you for another month citing that the billing cycle has passed. Every single gym atleast gives you your prorated use of days back but LA fitness just cheats. Never coming back here and/or any other LA fitness gym.
All of the LA fitness clubs in the 626 are generally the same in quality. There is one nice thing about this Main Street location that trumps the others, it closes at 9 PM on weekends compared to 8 PM for all others. The layout of this one happens to be pretty different from the Fremont and Monterey Park locations as well. The cardio equipment, pool, weights, etc are all located in peculiar areas of the club unlike the well laid out locations of other clubs. Not a deal breaker, but interesting.Recently slightly remodeled as well with some updated equipment. Could use more squat racks and Smith machines though!
Really bad service. There is no customer service. They are mostly interested in your credit card, they want to keep swiping your card for one reason or other. None of the associates knows about what LA fitness policies are. Everyone has their own policy. try your luck.
This place is dirty and no one bothers to put the weights back. Finding a paper towel or a pair of 40 lb dumb bells is like a wheres Waldo quest. The staff gets paid to be on their cell phones. Ive been to many cleaner LA Fitness facilities with a more in tune staff so it has to be the enforcement of the company policies that is the culprit for this place.
I never got my swimsuit back after I forgot it on the couch next to the front desk at this LA fitness. I believe they do not have a lost and found service. They may just throw away your stuff if you forgot it.my reasons: it was a small size swimsuit....I really dont think people would take someones swimsuit back home...and 90% women who went to this gym could not fit in it!
Ever since several new LA fitness sprung up within the 626 area, this place is no longer as busy. It gets busy after 9am sometimes if there is a popular class scheduled. Although evening time (after 5pm) will get busier, it is slower from 10 to 5pm. Like most LA fitness, it has a parking problem (the lack of it). Never park across the street because they may tow your car. There is a free public parking nearby if you dont mind walking a little bit. There is a security issue in the mens locker and the parking after darker. Someone removed my lock and searched my belongings, and fortunately all I had in there was some old clothes. There were, sometimes, broken glass in the parking lot.
I used to live running/walking distance to this L.A. Fitness location but I have to say that they are in dire need or a renovation. Not only is the parking space extremely small and limited, it also reflects the space that is available inside. They could have more toys for fitness enthusiasts to diversify members workouts.
Parking at this location is horrible especially if you go around the peak times usually after 6pm or when they have certain fitness classes scheduled. However it’s pretty good if you want to come here for a quick workout since usallly most of the machines are not crowded.
General speaking, it is a lousy place, especially the bathroom. All but one shower head is not functioning properly. I asked manager to fix them, he didnt even know what I was talking about. The floor of the bathroom is always wet. The only reason I go there is just for convenience.
These people here have the worst service specially the sales people. Very pushy and dont care about anything but to get you signed up and after that good luck trying to cancel. They will make you wait for hours. This LA fitness is the worst gym the one on Mission have better personnel . DO Not go here
I got a guest pass to this la fitness, just to kill some time there. After i entered, i can see they were trying to sell their membership by bullying about my shapes. it felt really bad they selling by bullying new customers. wont recommend my friends going to la fitness.
Update: Still a nice gym, but noting that the stairwell has had a leak/faulty pipe for months and it just keeps getting worse, someone needs to fix it. Must be incredibly moldy under the carpet.//Nice gym, and the front desk staff are great. Unfortunately the team doesnt seem to keep the desk well updated, I asked specifically for the hours on new years eve and was told the club closes early but otherwise is normal hours. Showed up in the morning to a locked club because it do any open until some hours later than normal, wasting my time and spoiling my plans for the day, not awesome. So, I recommend the club in general, but be aware you wont always have a great experience.
Truly disappointed. I asked for a family plan and they wanted to sell me an individual plan and pay for each of my daughters. Where is the aforementioned plan? That supposedly he did not pay the down payment but he paid 35 for each one and I 45.99.I mean, where are the promotions? I better go to another gym that is in Pasadena and with a better plan.I DONT WANT IT FOR FREE BUT I DONT WANT THAT THEY WANT TO SEE YOUR FOOLS FACE.
In a terrible place, the wardrobe in the dressing room was stolen the other day, and two mobile phones were lost. Moreover, the staff here paid an extra 280 yuan. If it hadnt been found out in time to find them, the money would have been returned. It doesnt matter if the mobile phone is lost, so we go to the police, really dont want to go again. I’m a star and I don’t want to give a comment. I hope you will be careful when you see it!

2022-05-105/9/2022 I go to the fitness store, Carols help me, I think Carols is a good sales manager, he introduced the Main St store to me, step by step, a lot of detail and give me very good offer, I really appreciate him. He is nice and friendly and give me very good customer service and he has so many patience to the customer. Though I don’t register from him finally , but I still want to give him 5 stars review and hope he can manage the store better and better. Thank you Carols. Clean place and very good location in Alhambra. Close to my house and working place. I will often go there. Because I need loose weight. Lol

2022-05-05Amazing amazing gym! In this gym you don’t feel like your getting judge. You feel totally comfortable. If you want somewhere away from people to workout you can definitely find a little spot. It’s 3 floors so it keeps people separate. Shout out to Carlos for keeping the place running amazing! Shout out to his cleaning staff & front desk staff!

2021-06-20Customer Service is this location is 5 stars. The staffs are very helpful and prompt. They treat you very respectfully. Angel is a great person and full of empathy. The building looks very small but it accommodates all thr things other branches may have. The swimming pool is outdoor which is great. The only down side is: Members are not encouraged to clean after themselves. Most members use the machines and leave them with their sweats on. I was a member of another brand which implements *Clean after yourself*. LA Fitness should provide more apots for the sanitizer and paper towel (not only 1 spot)

2022-03-13As my colleague Bruce E Palmore Jr. clearly stated this is no longer a gym the low price pulls in kids who aren’t serious about lifting and text between sets so it takes entire minutes longer to work out. Other than the price being too low, it’s good.

2021-09-13Well, first was Holiday Spa, then Bally’s Total Fitness, then LA Fitness now is Esporta Fitness. I only see name change all the the features are the same. If this gym will be open 24 hours then I welcome the Esporta Fitness brand name.

2022-04-08Honestly since this gym turned ESPORTA. It is now PLANET SHITNESS(fitness) PACKED!!!!! A BUNCH OF LOUD ANNOYING KIDS PLAYING AROUND....No one really cleans up after machine use like they should due to covid...Trash everywhere muggy and hot seems like they dont run the A/C like they should. I would rather waste fuel and go pay for parking on Freemont.... THIS LOCATION NEEDS MORE TRASH CANS AND MORE CLEANING SOLUTIONS...

2019-04-11Parking: 3/5 the parking is hardly ever enough for everyone during rush hours. Luckily you can park across the street in the lot.Equipment: 3/5 it has all the equipment, almost. Some equipments can be substituted with some others. Most of the equipments and weights are old, but luckily functional.Cleanliness: 2/5 the restroom is hellish, smelly and always dirty. Most of the equipments are dirty but you can’t expect much.Staff helpfulness: 4/5 most staff members are helpful here. They are always glad to help you out with two or three sets of spotting or teaching you how to use specific equipments.Overall: 3/5. Conveniently located gym that fulfills most peoples need to daily workout.

2022-01-31Good classes, lots of equipment, nice pool, and well kept . Wi fi not so good. Needs better reinforcement and follow up on making sure people wear masks. Has gotten better since Omicron came to be.

2022-02-17This LA Fitness is small and equipment is older. But what is really bad is the general upkeep and cleanliness of the place. The locker room smells musty. The floors are filthy. The showers are nasty and full of mold and mildew. Management shows no pride in this facility. I dont see how the corporate office allows this place to stay open as it doesnt meet the minimum standards. The only good thing about this location is there is an outdoor pool and Adora is a great Zumba instructor.Update 2/2022 Its been awhile since they changed name to Esporta Fitness still under the LA Fitness brand and no changes to management. No real changes to the place, still dirty and old but holding out hope that things here will get better.

2021-12-21No longer looked at as a gym but the price also brings a lot of kids not really serious about working out so they spend time texting in between sets so it takes longer to workout than it should but other than that it is a great place.
