When I call and try to make reservations, the reception Nora just said no reservations just come over , when I arrive there she said join the waitlist , there are 60-70 minutes to wait . Nora should tell me over the phone to join waitlist before I come .It waist me extra 30 minutes . Nora was very rude and did not even apologize for her mistake.
Arcadia location is MUCH worse than the city of industry location in all possible ways. It took a while for us to get seated even though there was barely anyone there (gee wonder why🧐). My girlfriend ordered chicken that ended up being crunchy for some reason, the quality of service was minimal, and the food itself did not look fresh (unlike the CIO location). The lighting and environment was weird as well, and weren’t even playing jazz music😕. If you’re able, go to the CIO location instead of this one.
I had a stellar time at this location! Its definitely roomier than the location in Rowland Heights that we sometimes frequent since its much closer to home, but since we had just finished bowling next door we decided to grab dinner across the street that Jazz Cat was located at. We left our cars at the bowling alley and just walked. We placed our name down for a table of 8 and waited only 10 minutes before they sat us down at a very spacious back end near the stairs that lead to their second floor seating (very cool). There was definitely more room than we expected, which was fantastic so that we had more than enough elbow space when eating compared to other Jazz Cats where everybody usually sat elbow to elbow making eating difficult. Our wait staff was prompt in getting our order and I must apologize that one of our members made the ordering process extra long and tedious, but our waiter was more than accommodating, bless his patient soul. Our food arrived and I saw that they updated their pots to these really cute cat shaped ones and they were deeper. Definitely much nicer so that its not prone to spilling like the ones they had before where the pots were short and thin.I ordered my usual, pork bone soup with lamb. Still tasty, but not the best pork bone soup Ive had, but did the trick! Id still recommend this place though for the atmosphere and space though. :)
Food is great. Got the premium lamb t-rex. I like that you can control the temperature of your own hot pot stove. We were seated pretty quickly on a Saturday night. Service can sometimes be slow with taking your order and giving you your bill, but theyll always check up on you if you want more soup or water.
I left a negative review about 2.5 years ago at the Jazz Cat in San Gabriel for the lack of customer service. We probably saw our waitress two times during our first and last dinning experience there. The new Jazz Cat in Arcadia was totally a different dining experience. Although I told myself I would never dine at Jazz Cat in San Gabriel, I wanted to give the new location a chance. The food is the same in terms of taste and quality. We were most impressed by this dining experience at the new location because of their excellent customer service with a genuine smile and helpfulness. We greeted upon arrival and quickly seated within 6 minutes. The waiters and waitresses kept checking on us every 10 minutes. At the end of our meal, a waitress assisted us in packing our soup to go. Then to top it off, a waitress named Vivian chase our car down after we were about to drive off the parking lot to return our credit card that we left behind. That earned them an additional tip because my husband also forgot to sign the receipt. So overall, we will be returning to this Jazz Cat for more great food & services.
Great hot pot for a cold day ! I wanted to get off from eating any meat so I ordered their vegetables hot pot with Japanese miso soup base. The meal included 8 type of vegetables, tofu, and rice noodles to soak up the soup. The portion is so big that I have to take leftovers home. Very tasty, and the price is reasonable.
This place was great! I wanted to write a positive review after having to write a negative one! Its bigger than the other Jazz Cat we typically go to (can’t remember where) and we only went on a whim.We were seated very quickly, mostly because there was so much space! So much so that my fiancée and I even sat on the same side of the booth like gross teenage love birds! My partner LOOOOVED the cat bowls, the wait staff was beyond friendly. They were even friendly to us as we annoyingly (VERY sorry) changed our drink order twice. My partner and I have very different taste buds but both of us came away very happy. I forget what they were called, but I got the bowl with a lot of meat and she got the one that has seafood and we both walked away happy. I won’t lie. Our #1 hotpot place is not this one, but Jazz Cat is still a VERY close second and with that said, I actually think the atmosphere here is better (our usual place is kind of small).Anyway, do you want some tasty hotpot with super nice folks serving you? Then, come here!
I love their hot pot selection! Ive been going to jazz cat in San gabriel for years, thank goodness they opened this one in Arcadia. The service here is impeccable! Highly recommended for anybody looking for a good lunch or dinner. Very spacious and the ventilation is great here.
I am used to traditional Japanese shabu shabu, and love the simplicity. Jazz Cat is not traditional, but it is an interesting take on the cuisine. There are about 30 different flavors of broth to choose from. They are indeed tasty and flavor the food that you cook in them. So they do mask some of the flavor. There are lighter broths to choose from though. It is a fun alternative. The also offer an upgrade to organic for the veggies - I highly recommend this as the plate is MUCH better that what comes by default. All in all, a fun experience. And pay a little more for the Angus or USDA Prime meat. It is very high quality and very fresh. Definitely worth it.They do not American Express credit cards. As this is my go-to card, I will not be returning as I do not appreciate stores limiting my method of payment.
Finally had a chance to give Arcadias Jazz Cat a try, and I can honestly say that I like this location much better than San Gabriels (especially since my friend and I went two days in a row and were able to compare the differences). This Jazz Cat took over what was previously Din Tai Fung. Theres parking at the back in the very cramped lot, but if you cant find any - then street parking is your next best bet.I remember seeing the line being out the door for this location right when it first opened. Luckily it was not too busy when we arrived. We signed up for the waitlist via Yelp and were seated immediately. The restaurant is definitely a bit more narrow in length, with a wider area towards the back. Not sure if theres an upper level for customers as well, but all guests were seated downstairs for that night. Seating is a bit weird as the stoves are all right in the middle of a pretty long table. We sat at a table large enough for 6 people, so we ended up sitting adjacent to one another in order to accommodate all the space.Menu is the same. They have lunch prices if you come during the day; otherwise, you pay around $15 for the basic soup, meat, and sauce selection. You can choose the regular (with more veggies) or T-rex (supposedly 50% more meat) options.I ended up choosing the T-rex option (more meat for your buck, right?), but was able to compare it to my friends regular option. And the difference in meat was very minute. He probably had ten slices while I had twelve slices of meat - not a big difference at all! But the vegetable comparison ... he had bok choy, kale, two baby corns, enoki mushroom, cucumber - items I didnt have. That was disappointing. But besides that, everything else was good. I ordered the creamy milk and corn with the premium beef and the ponzu sauce. The creamy milk and corn has always been one of my favorites - not too heavy, quite milky, and love the amount of corn kernels inside the soup. I felt that it gave the meat a more silky flavor, but that could just be me. Wasnt able to finish a lot of my portion, so I ended up sticking the remainder into my friends pot. Definitely a good amount of food.My friend ordered the pork bone with the beef and Thai satay sauce. I can see why people enjoy the Thai satay - a bit spicy, a little acidic ... very good at getting the palate going for more food. He enjoyed the pork bone, but thought that Little Sheep had a better one. I thought the soup was a little bland and lacking in rich flavor. With all the veggies that he had, he was really full and satisfied by the end of the meal. The meat was quite lean and looked really fresh, which was a plus. (When we went to SGs location the next day, the meat was super fatty.) Workers were friendly and kept helping us refill our soup. Food came quickly and anytime we needed something, we were helped right away.tl;dr - If youre craving soup or hot pot, definitely come to Jazz Cat. This is probably one of my favorite hot pot places because the soups that they offer are all quite tasty. Price is decent and the amount of food you get really fills you up. They also have other dishes/drinks if you want to order something besides hot pot.
Ive only eaten to jazz cat probably once or twice before this on valley. Not a big fan of hot pot but mom loved it so here we are. The place is now open , hard to know since the only sign they are open is if you come in from the side parking lot . You cant see from the mains Baldwin if they open or not .Food : 4 star . Pretty much similar to the other place . You got choice of some protein with alot of choice of the soup base and few choice of dipping sauce . They have the t rex version which gives you more meat and less veggies.Food taste ok to me, but maybe because in spoked with boiling point where they already mix all the ingredients for you.I wish this place have a recommended build for your pot. Theres like 20 different soup. How the heck should I know which one goes well with which. Im not a food expert.Service : 4 star .Not surprising for a new place it seemed chaotic. We were ushered in inside by one staff and was told there actually was no space. So we go back out finding out other people have been getting number , so now we are #4 in line . But fortunately the lady in front desk (who seems to be the only person around here that know what theyre doing) understand what happened after we told her and gave us the first seat anyway.Staff is pretty attentive for stuff we need throughout eating.

Food quality is always great! One of my favorite Shabu Shabu places!
Totally agree with some of the reviews, too much sugar, even the bean souce tastes sweet. Service is good. But Id rather go to haidilao for Chinese hotpot and a real Japanese place for Shabu. This place is a combination of all sorts of hotpot but not authentic for either.
Ive been to many other shabu places from Shinsengumis to Boiling Point, Little Sheep, and others. Jazz Cat is still my favorite for their strong flavored broths, their fresh veggies, and here, a really dead simple to use burner. Im glad they opened another one. We can go here before the lines get too crazy.

2022-01-27This was my first first visit at this hot pot spot. I can’t believe I had never been here before. Not only was the atmosphere great but the food was just as delicious! The staff there always made sure to check up on us if we needed anything from refills, to more beer and just to see how our meal was going.I will definitely be going back here more often.

2022-01-17January 2022 - Party of 3 on a Friday around 630pm. We utilized the Yelp waitlist so there was no wait for us! There were quite a number of parties on the list so I recommend joining it early.Food/Pricing - Its just about $20-21 for each dosh. I tried the Mongolian Herbal and the Pork Bone broths. Both yum! We picked the Trex style which includes more meat!! The Satay Sauce was just okay to me but if you mix it with the Spicy Sesame then its yummier!Service/Ambiance - The service was so so. In the beginning it was good then it got a bit inattentive halfway through. I very much enjoyed the spacious booths with high backed seats!! Love that it feels more private.

2022-05-09Its really not good. I asked for a spicy seasoning or chili pepper because it was so bad and bland, but I ignored it. I ordered a drink, but I didnt bring it. So it came out 10 minutes after the menu came out.

2018-05-02Great varieties of soup base to choose from. Price per pot starting ~$15 and you can also add in any additional side (ex. seafood side: 3 pawns and 4-5 pieces of fish for $4.95). The food is decent and the service is quick. Staffs are friendly and attentive. The decor is nice and clean. Since almost all the booths and chairs have high back, it provides privacy. Easy access to Parking and theres plenty of space. Recommended.

2019-02-11Update Feb 2018:Regular beef -> quality went downAmerican wagyu -> even better quality than regular beef but not melt in mouth. Little bit chewyPlease increase the beef quality!!Update Sept 2018: make sure get wagyu beef, it’s worth it. Soft and tender. $22 for 6 oz or $25 for 9 ozDecent beef quality, many different kind of soup / broth flavors. Staff are friendly, fast service and decent price. Good location with decent parking space. Get early - otherwise waiting could be long time. We ordered t-rex - basically more meat slices than vegetables. Same price as regular order (more varieties of vegetables). Many different dipping sauces, you. An choose 2 at a time but if you don’t like it just ask for different kind and they will accomodate you

2018-12-19Great food as always! Great selection of broths and sauces. I would recommend getting the satay sesame, its so good! I always get the regular selections of veggies and meat but if your into all meat then you can get the t Rex for no extra cost. We got the thai spicy (very good! Not to spicy but just enough to get that burn) And the coconut (not very special, felt like it was just broth with some coconut cream poured into it)

2020-03-01The weather was cold this evening and the Japanese spicy hot pot style dish hit the spot. It was warming and comfortable. The jazz playing throughout was a nice touch to the mood of the place. If your in the area its a good choice.

2018-02-14Great service and quality of food was decent! They actually play jazz music here ha! I order the T-Rex portion of Beef with bone soup. There are many options of soup to chose from. Flavor and quantity of portions are perfect, good enough for 1 person. Price was okay, cheaper than Hot Pot and little different from that style.

2018-01-29This location is much much better than their San Gabriel location..Food is very good. Price is very reasonable. Service is excellent. Atmosphere is good. And is extremely clean. And on top of that, plenty of parking.
