Before yesterday I haven’t been to Islands in over twelve years. The food is okay, Although I didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t order my burger medium rare. I have been cooking professionally for years so I know all the pros and cons for eating rare meat. I happen to enjoy bleu steaks and medium rare burgers. The service was great though but I am in no hurry to go back.
Ok so had a nice time eating here on a Friday night. Wait was about 15 minutes but thats expected. We were seated and ordered. Ordered our food and our waitress had to leave a was replaced with some one else. Ordered nachos 2 jr hamburgers and 2 plates of tacos. Its was good experience.
Islands in Burbank, has very poor service. The place is empty and its not because of the pandemic. It just plain bad service, from the management to the servers, etc. Call in an order yesterday, wanted to pick up food for V Day and the person who answered the phone, a young lady Bella I think, said she couldnt take my order, that she had to transfer me. She transferd me and a voicemail answer. called again, and same thing. I mean what kind of business is this? how can they survive like this. They should try to have more manners and better customer service. My husband had to go in and order and they still gave him a hard time. Never coming back here, they dont care about there customers. no wonder this place is empty. bad food, bad service, bad management.
First and foremost, you changed your ranch, Im not saying its bad, but Im going to say its different, and will let you decide if you (the reader) like it or not. Either way I got your loaded island fries because you have to when on an island! Yummy, even with the new ranch. This place is very kid friendly with crayons and menus for the little ones. The lunch menu is nice if you can make it during the timeframe. Otherwise its classic standard burgers, sides, salads, fries, etc. Adult drinks can be ordered too. Looking for a night it with the kids, try this spot out.
Islands is a very good restaurant with decadent burgers and fries. The beach bowl is great. The right portion and taste. My choice was w/chicken and hoisin sauce. Highly recommend. The restaurant also a good place to watch a game. Parking tough even though its within a structure. Price is reasonable. Service is good.
Even tough other Islands in other cities have been a great experience, this ine in Burbank was not, the fries were cold and hard good only for the trash can, they took them away and the server did not came back with the new fries until the whole family was finish eating, a shame since the one Island in Porter Ranch has the greates fries. This Island one not only gave me the worst fries ever but they had the nerve to charge me extra for requesting to take away their awful fries and bring me fresh ones!. The service was also awful. Just to be fair, the hamburger I had was excellent and big and juicy, but I ate with no fries! They should know better, you got to have your fries when eating your hamburger! And serve them hot and crispy to begin with.
Very good bar and burger place. If you stick to their burgers, you cant go wrong. I sat at the bar and had an ice cold beer with my meal, it was great. They also have TV screens set up throughout the restaurant so you can watch your favorite sports. The whole set up is very good, as well as the customer service.
Great place for burgers and more, really excellent service. Ordered the Jalapeno, black pepper crusted burger with pepper jack cheese. The burger was cooked to perfection and it was a delicious burger with sweet red fried onions on top. Couldnt eat it all but polished it off the next day for dinner.
So after my daughters softball game we decided to go to islands and have some good burgers. So we thought. It was years since we had last been there. Me and my wife ordered a cheeseburger with guac bacon. Tasty burger right. WRONG. No flavor at all very bland. My wife left on putting salt and pepper on it to get some taste. For a place that just makes burgers it just aint right they cant get it right. Will not be going back again
Kids had been bugging about Islands and how we never take them where they want to go and they are so deprived and why dont I have an Iphone yet. Typical Sunday. It was too late for lunch, too early for dinner. One of us had the hangries so we got an appetizer. Spinach Artichoke dip chosen by the little one. Its good, nothing spectacular. They are generous with the chips though. Ordered our norms, got the fix, good times. Those deprived children ended the night at BR31Flavors with only them getting something because were awful parents.
I love islands. My personal favorite is the veggie Kilauea. Unlike any other burger I ever had. It does have a strong pepper taste but thats what makes it bomb. A must try. Employees here are nice and my order is always accurate. They always offer to add fries or drinks or ranch which is so appreciated cause nothing worse then getting home and being like dang I forgot to order ranch etc. Lol
Service was good, our waiter was nice and took some time to talk about the drinks they served. He also suggested adding an ingredient to our main entree. Since it was close to closing time, he did not rush us to leave the restaurant and I appreciate that. The ambiance was good, it was a little busy but it wasnt loud. Overall good service and food.
Just very generic food, reviews were good. Wanted to like the place but frozen lemonade drink wasnt sweet and had huge chunks of ice, waiter never refilled my water. Wings were ok but I can honestly say I would never spend another dollar at this place. Next time Ill just go to BJs or in n out or just about anywhere else.
LA has just opened at only 25% so I have to give them credit for doing the best they can in the circumstances. We may have waited longer than we would have hoped ... but management was kind and took care of us even though it was not necessary. It is tough times and we all try to be as patient as we can so props to the team here. Food was great as usual!
Brought my grandma here when she flew in to visit and we both had a great time, we were talking about it all day after a great a experience. Our waitress was incredible, kind and caring and didnt fake it till she made it, she was genuine and I loved it. The food was incredible, the prices were great! The environment was comfortable and had a great vibe. I ended up buying a gift card because I knew I wanted to come back, and will come back. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.
Return to Islands after a loooong stretch. In mood for a local burger & shake. Hubbys rememberance that Islands had identity crisis between island & mexican- who are we? Spot on. Best items tonight in descending order: handmade adult chocolate shake (w/kahlua & dark rum); mai tai (not batch) by team Alyssa (server) & Leah (bartender); red onion straws & Malibu burger; guac, salsa & chips. Kudos to Alyssa for asking bartender to make mai tai according to original recipe!! Pic is of empty shake glass because we were finished off burger & salad. So impressed by her initiative & team work w/Leah (sp?) Look forward to returning.
I ordered the Beach Bowl. Described as having fresh grilled pineapple instead had canned chunk pineapple; red bell peppers, snow peas, water chestnuts, red onions, broccoli and scallions were limp and mushy like a bad mix of a frozen stir fry. My protein was supposed to be grilled fish but was instead very dry and tasteless like it had been sitting out all day. All to be served over mushy brown rice w/teriyaki sauce. This is a burger and fry place. Dont waste money or time going for anything else and then stick with simple things, the menu is obviously bogus. Shame on Islands for offering subpar food choice alternatives plus they obviously have a distorted idea of what fresh really is.
Better then a burger joint. Not sure if it was just an amazing server who made our diner occasion wonderful. But I cant complain about anything. Sat us down quickly, gave us time to actually socialize, order was correct, drinks were well liked, birthday desserts came for 2 of our guests, free of charge, and parking was easy. Did I mention our server was fantastic?!!
Got there before a small rush of customers but then they lost our order! Took us about 35 minutes for a burger & a large Tortilla soup. The Hawaiian burger was flavorful but the meat patty was disappointing. The Tortilla soup was good but they were out of SPOONS! The bag of chips barely had 7 chips! Seriously, they could have gone and bought spoons from a market or Smart & Final! 😱😱😱
Me and my husband went here yesterday after seeing a movie. The burgers are sooo fresh... everything that goes on to the burger was fresh. I could literally taste the freshness. When I bit into my burger my taste buds did a back flip because it was just that darn good. The endless fries are good too! They are lightly salted...It was quiet when we were there maybe because it was around 1pm was still a little early. Our waiter was nice he kept checking to make sure everything was fine.We enjoyed ourselves!
Food wasnt bad but it was definitely cold. Also our server seemed to forget we existed for the longest time. Had to ask for my basket of fries that I had been waiting on for way longer than necessary. In addition to all that the salt shaker combusted when I picked it up. Overall not the greatest experience.
Islands is a chain restaurant I recall from at least the 1990s. Ive been to a half dozen locations in my life and this Burbank location is a fine one. Spacious, no long wait times, lots of booths. The food has been consistent: great natural beef and impossible burgers. Little things like custom orders and extra sauces are happily honored by a smooth running fleet of friendly servers. Great for families.
I visited Islands a few days ago, I havent been here since high school, so i figured why not reminisce the good old times. I attended with 2 of my boys, a friend of mine & her daughter. The wait time was very short even with limited outdoor seating space. I was really expecting to have a great dinner with a friend I hardly get to ever see nowadays. But, we really didnt enjoy it as much as we had hoped we would. Took about 15-20mins to get our drinks we ordered, kids got soft drinks, those came out fairly quick; but us adults got what was supposed to be a michelada & a blended mango margarita. Michelada tasted more like a bloody mary & margarita was ok. We ordered apps & our food; and to me we orderdd the simplist items on the menu. But, yet it took about an hour or so to get our food. Waitress never came by to ask if we were ok or if we needed anything, at any time while waiting for our food knowing we had kids with us. Yet, the table of guests that came after us were constantly attended to. Plus got their drinks and food & refills well before we did. Once we did get our food, one order of fries from the kids order looked like old fries, & the 2nd batch that came few moments later came with the waitress letting us know that they were fresher than the other ones, so why serve us the others in the first place. I was really disappointed with the service. With the amount of money i spent, i wouldve expected better. We honestly will never be attending here again.
First night out in Burbank while visiting Universal Studios and found Islands quite enjoyable. The dining crowd was watching the finale of the Cavs vs Warriors game so we had to wait a while for a table but worth it. The service was very attentive and the food not bad. There was an error made in one of the orders and the manager volunteered to take off the bill. Would visit again.
Absolutely amazing. I sat at the bar area, the happy hour menu is very good, with plenty of options. Even though the bar was pretty busy the young lady who attended me was attentive, quick with service and very nice. The food is always good and the drinks were good too, especially since they currently have a our staff picks.
The servers I have experience are very accommodating. They are very helpful and very efficient. Their attitudes are excellent. They are very friendly, quick to respond and they look like theyre enjoying their job. And also with a smile! I love Islands because the service its fantastic and the food is incredible.
The service here is great! Staff is so friendly and comes to table to check if you need anything. The 3 stars are for them. However the food is like the same of McDonalds except I paid about $10 more. Might be Im eating too much McDonalds or the cooks were lazy today. Either way, you guys should give your servers a raise they are AMAZING :D
Have always enjoyed Islands , now more than ever. Limited outdoor dine in & takeout options are available , and when I went for takeout recently they even provided me a complimentary drink. I appreciate small acts like that. They’ll have my business as long as they stay open.
Maybe it is the nostalgia but always enjoy my burgers here. Juicy/greasy and fries, artichoke dip, and thin chips. All remind me of my days in high school and coming here for a treat. The fries seem different from before. More in and out-esque but maybe I just dont recall how the fries were in the past. Nice servers, chill atmosphere, cant go wrong.
Service was good. I had the pipeline burger and was not happy. I usually ordered the Hawaiian and I probably should have. They are trying out a new way to serve French fries. They brought a bowl to the table and everyone shares. So the fries come out like an appetizer, then your burger is served. We got there an hour and a half before closing time, so that might have something to do with the underwhelming burgers
You cant go wrong with a burger at Islands so there no need to review their food because its good. In regards to the service, I was there on a Wednesday night and service was good. We were seated promptly, the waitress was attentive and we never felt rushed or neglected. Good service.
Pretty packed. Even when its not, its slow. Took my family and the waiter was rushing us, not even given the opportunity to say if I wanted the meat well-done. I tried asking for ranch and barbeque sauce and he completely ignored me. When the food came, the fries looked like tiny bits as if it was the leftovers and only gave us a small amount of fries. I ordered the mushroom burger and they hardly put any in it. It used to be a good place, but maybe over the years new people are hired so it changes everything.
This place has gone down hill. Both service and food quality are a one star. It used to be my wife and Is go to spot for wings after the gym. Not anymore! The host didnt greet us. My blue cheese burger had no blue cheese. To fix it they slapped some watery blue cheese dressing with no crumbles on it. I didnt eat it. The managers tone and offer was short and unapologetic. We wont be going back.
Have been to this place nearly dozen times but had a bad experiance for the fist time. Ordered tortilla chips with guacamole and they literally got avocado, no onion, tomato etc. Also the impossible vegan burger was not good. On top of all these the prices where hiked by 30%.
Average food with a couple of healthy options. Service was slow. No one ever came back to see if we wanted more coffee or water. They forgot to give a woman in our party a side of black beans after we reminded the servers twice. They also forgot the sour cream she requested until the 3rd time she asked for it after ordering it in her initial order. The servers need to be more attentive to their customers and add more healthy options.
GREAT Experience! Stopped by for a late lunch, Got seated right away and a waitress came tot he table fast to offer drinks. Just a moment later she was already back with drinks and ready to take the food order. There was one item not listed on the menu that she recommended and gave that a try. The food was fast, the drinks where coming way faster and the service quality was perfect! The waitress was super professional and fast to bring food, drinks, and check what else was needed.
Hello foodies, real glad I came back after a long time.Walking in with the fam. on a weekend, we were greeted with a welcome to Islands along with a smile immediately.Upon being seated in a booth within a cool area relatively soon at my request, I observed they added a few more big screens. Nice touch guys! The ambiance felt good! Well lit, cool, clean, and friendly, and that comfortable tropical feeling was exhilarating.Rocky, our server was great! Very attentive, knew the menu, and suggested entrees that made sense. The food was tasty, well seasoned, and plentiful. She came back to our table quite often to check if we needed anything else or to provide refills for our iced green teas. The best part, Rocky was always smiling with a non-stop energetic way about her. Hopefully, lucky once again next time to be seated within her station. I know she will always be requested. You guys need to ask for her during your next visit!Thank you guys, we will definitely be back for more of Islands in the very near future! No disappointments!!!
We have gone to this location so many times that the staff is starting to recognize who we are. The food is good and we always try something different but have a few items we will fall back on if we cant make a decision. The staff is super friendly and always gives us a refill well before our drinks has at the bottom. Needless to say the service is super friendly and attentive. There are quite a few televisions located throughout the entire restaurant. Some will be displaying sports but most the time it has something to do with surfing as that is the theme of the restaurant. We dont find ourselves watching the television much but some of the people weve gone with really enjoy that feature. We always park in the same location whenever we come to eat here which is the parking lot directly next to the restaurant. The downside of this parking structure is that it is shared with the large AMC theater right next to it as well. This will often cause you to have to go up many floors in order to be able to park. The elevators are very slow and there has been a couple of instances when they just dont even work, weve gotten used to just taking the stairs both up and down. I guess thats not much of a problem, that way we work off whatever we just ate.I would highly recommend this location in particular to anybody mainly because of the staff and the food is always great. Try some of those bottomless fries ;)
Food was excellent however I wasnt a fan of their service. I felt like I was being profiled. I took my children to the restroom and they cleared my table during my absence. Im assuming they thought I dined and ditched. Then on top of that the waitress was constantly checking on the table next to me but wouldnt stop by mine, Im guessing she saw a young nother and thought she wouldnt get tipped well? Again, food was excellent but the service needs major improvement.
Burger was decent, I had the longboard, I think. The one with thousand island dressing. It definitely wasnt worth $13 or $11 though, maybe a $8 for a restaurant like that. Im not a fan of the tortilla they use for the fish tacos, though the fish was tasty. We love the fries and the customer service from our waiter was great. The lava cake was delicious!!! Got it for my 9 year olds birthday, a little bit of a bummer they dont sing happy birthday.
My niece and nephew were visiting from Minnesota. It was the last day of their trip. And I really wanted to enjoy our time together. The food was delicious and the service was was excellent. Our server was Micala, she gave us wonderful service, made suggestions that made for a delightful dining experience.
Just like any other Islands, you end up getting pretty good quality, and great service here. I would definitely like to say that there should be a bigger menu selection to be honest. One of the things I really enjoy here is the Maui Burger. I really like their cheese fries, these are the best.
I took a friend out for lunch and she was craving an avocado bacon burger. We ordered two Maui burgers and paid extra for adding bacon. I had an ice tea and my friend had water. The burgers were OK but not great. With the added bacon each burger was approximately $16, that did include mediocre fries. The meal with tax and tip came to $47. That just seems unjustifiably high for OK food, stale fries and mediocre service.
One of my favorite places to go for a great burger. The burgers are delicious and the fries are one of my all time favorites and are all you can eat. They have great lunch and happy hour menus and always have different drink specials going on. Service is great and the staff is friendly. I always get the big wave no cheese medium on wheat bun with fries and a side Caesar. My girl loves the mahi-mahi tacos. They have a new blackened Burger where they cook the Patty with loads of pepper and its amazing.
I’ve had nothing but problems at this location for the past few months that I’ve been coming here. To start the rewards system is always “down” so I never get points for the money I consistently spend here. They hardly get my simple orders correct and I recently just waited 30 minutes at take out curbside waiting for them to bring my credit card back after giving me my food, leaving my food extremely cold by the time I actually got to eat. They had run my card and just didn’t bring it back to me until i went inside and asked for it. I’m very disappointed by the service I’ve received here and I’d seriously consider going somewhere else next time.
The food is really good and they are very nice about substitutions so everybody is able to eat what they want. Their grilled mahi mahi tacos are awesome. I asked them to put them on flour tortillas and leave off the cream sauce and substitute it with salsa. Very refreshing on a three digit summer night. They took a while to bring the food but they were super busy and they were as quick as possible when seating our large party.
Unlimited fries and decent burgers makes this a pretty solid place to go. Drinks are on the pricier end but not unreasonable and there are always sports on the tvs if youre into that. Dont go here if you want anything vaguely authentically Hawaiian though, much more lightly inspired if anything.
Love islands order anything on the menu and u would very satisfied, this place stands out because of the professional staff and atmosphere.I recommend the Toucan hamburger pineapple 🍍 with teriyaki sause on wheat plus endless fries very pleasing and u cant forget the cool breeze strawberry berry with banana smoothie.
Its been at least a decade since I was last at any Islands location. I realized its been forever and decided to take my family and I on a Tuesday afternoon. We arrived just after their lunch rush and just before their dinner rush. The sweet spot time to relax and enjoy good company and tasty food! Parking near this Islands location is incredibly accessible from the parking structure just behind the restaurant and just a short walking distance to the front doors.
My girlfriend and I came to this location a couple weeks ago. Our server had to go on brake before we were ready to order. My manager came to our table and asked if we were ready to order. My girlfriend wasnt ready so I just ordered some chips and salsa while i wait for her to make a decision. 15min passed and we got our chips and salsa but no one took our order. Finally our original waitress came up and asked how everything was. I asked for my check due to it taking so long. She came back with the manager and they explained they messed up with there mix up. Long story short. . We got a free meal just had to pay for the beer.
This place is going to get someone sick! Ive been to Islands before and was great but at other locations. Went to eat with my family at this location burbank and burgers and food was horrible. Didnt taste anything like it should taste, fries old, onions smelled like trash, burger was pink(like alotta pink) Service was ok. Food was overall so hard it loosened 1 of my tooth. Never ever will i comeback. My kids food was so hard and burnt felt bad for them. My visit was april 30 2017, 8-9pm. Terrible terrible food. Fire the cook please ASAP! If only i could attach a photo of my pink burger, smh.
The restaurant has nice decor however the music is much too loud my son and I could hardly hear ourselves talk together I ordered the fish tacos the menu said Chipotle sauce that tasted nothing like that it was very Bland as was the fish. Since this is an Islands Restaurant the waitresses and the hostess at the front should be dressed like Islanders the staff was very nice and friendly I did enjoy interacting with them and the food my son ordered which was a rice bowl with chicken looks very good he seemed to enjoy also its a nice to have on the televisions instead of just surfing Island music or something festive if I can be of further help to you let me know have a nice day
I dont care what anyone says... Island makes the best chicken strips I can find... Although they serve them as an appetizer pair them with so.e fries and youre good to go... Dont get me wrong though, I really really like their hamburgers as well... And they have a bar so you can get a little tipsy if you so choose... And all the servers are super friendly so you feel like a king when eating here
Good food and wait staff, but a manager with a sense of hearing should stop for a second and notice how the central bar is blasting a different audio feed AND the televisions are blasting their channels volume right over the main floors music. Its so distressing weve stopped going.
Can I give 0 stars? Absolutely WORST service I have ever experienced. We were invisible. We watched as every party around us was served and eating as we waited for a beer that took 30 minutes to arrive. Then after another 30 minutes with no food and no attention whatsoever, we paid for the beer and left. No one even noticed. Never eating at this location again.
Pleasant service, but the niceties end there. Ordered a Mai Tai, aweful tasted like coconut mouthwash - utterly undrinkable. Cheese fries were good, but how can you screw that up. Burgers were inedible and sat in the stomach like I had just eaten gravel. First and last time there. Never again.
The food was fine. The atmosphere was what I ed. Ive expected been an Islands customer for years. Here is why I am never coming back... I came with my son and some friends. We had a nice dinner and all was well. After we left, we realized that my son had left his water bottle behind in the booth. I called the restaurant and they said they would hold onto the water bottle until I came back to get it. I returned two days later and they had no idea what I was talking about. No one knew anything about the water bottle. It was gone and U had wasted a trip back to this godawful establishment. Booo on Islands.
The food wasnt all that great today it normally is here. I asked for my burger well-done and it was super freaking crispy I couldnt even chew through it and the fries were extremely hard I almost hit the damn tooth I had to ask for them done again although they are endless fries
Love the Hula Burger(Mushroom Burger) but it is a bit pricey (all burgers average $10-$12).The burger just a block away at Granville is about the same price(or cheaper) but the flavor of that burger is almost religious in nature at Granville. But I do love a mushroom burger...
Yes, this particular Islands location is immediately next to a SIX Level parking structure. But that parking structure gets so full that parking always takes 10-minutes longer than anyone expects. This location is as consistent as any other Islands location but tends not to be as clean inside. Staff is friendly and the food quality is pretty good but their average burger and soft-drink (meal) will cost $16 to $19-total per person.
Went for early dinner here with the family... Ordered the Malibu Burger w/ fries & chocolate shake, Toucan Sandwich w/fries & Pepsi and a kids meal hot dogs with fruits... Also ordered a Piña Colada which was delicious... The staff was great and accommodating to our visit... Well be happy to come visit this place again really soon...
Not the greatest or friendliest service, but the manager deserves an award for his wonderful handling of a small situation. (I hate anything cheese-related at Islands, especially the cheese fries and the nachos... The cheese is like shoe leather within three minutes of delivery to your table! Waste of money and food.)
My boyfriend and I went to Islands on Monday night 945pm for the first time at this location in Burbank actually it was the first time ever he went to an Islands restaurant. When we went inside the restaurant the host came to us and told us we can go seat at the bar section. My boyfriend asked the host can we still order food? he said yea. And we walk to find somewhere to sitWe were not given any menus. The waitress approached us and didnt greet us she just said that we needed to hurry and order quick cause the kitchen would be closing soon. He ordered burger with fries and a mojito drink and I ordered the cabo loco. The waitress brought us our food and she asked if my boyfriend wanted more fries. It look like he got what was left over few and dried up fries. I been to another Island restaurant the one in Glendale. My tacos looked like they just added ton of onions and barely any meat at the Burbank location so I know that my tacos did not look appealingly. The service was not good at all she brought our check and didnt ask if he wanted another drink. She was rude and made us feel unwelcome. On March 14 2017 I took my mother for birthday lunch at the Glendale location and the waitress was also not friendly either. When I told my mom about the service in Burbank location she mentioned that for her birthday the waitress was rude there too. The waitress at the Glendale didnt ask if we wanted dessert. My boyfriend already said he would not go back and after having two bad experiences at different locations I dont want to go back either.
I went with my in-laws who we were visiting, and everything about it was terrible. My fiance ordered gin on the rocks, and received it 15 minutes later, mostly melted ice.For my part, I got their quesodilla last night and havent been able to stop blowing chunks since this morning, and Ive had nothing to drink in weeks. The servers refilled one persons water over the course of an hour and a half, and there were 5 of us. By the time the manager came around, we were all totally over this place.I wont even start on the food.
Loved the floor boss she helps everyone, Meta always Good.. Management the best but just one manager, guaaaaa, hes learning o,well Ill live. But Great place to eat and great big tv.sto see the Dodgers Games, my Lakers.Dont know Management at Sherman Oaks but its OK as long as James is working the bar boy can he bring a crowd. OK Im done thanks Islands for very Good Service.
A Fun Family comfortable sport Burger restaurant. Big screen TVs play Surfing, Mount bike riding and extreme snow skiing or if a Big game is on theyll put it on.High end burgers Choices of beef Turkey and a great veggie Patty, and all the Fixins you want. School fund raiser are great here
Well I should have know....because as we walked in a group of people were walking out, talking about how Noone had even said hello or great them and that they had been there for 10 mins. Sure as they said we walked in several workers look at us but said nothing. Then another group that was waiting walked out, not happy. Finally a person walked to the host station and asked how many of you are there and took us to our table. The waitress came took our order and never came back to check on us or if we needed anything. This islands needs to get it together or the will be in a lot of financial trouble with NO CUSTOMERS.AND THE FOOD WAS COLD, EVEN THE FRIES, BUT WHO CAN I TELL SERVER WAS NO PLACE TO BE FOUND, UNTIL SHE HAD THE BILL.LOL
Burgers. The option to have a veggie patty on almost all of their selections is the biggest plus. But they lose points for how they have shrunk some of their portions over the years. The Cheese Fries were once a 10 plate with a mount of fries and heaps of cheese. Now it is hardly half that size, and yet is still the same price. But this is typical of all chain restaurants now. As well as poor training of servers. They are hit or miss.
Im a little biased about this place, as its where I met my wife (blind date style set up). That being said, We love Islands. This one and the others we have visited. Im especially fond of the endless bowl of Tortilla Soup. Its my goto. My wife loves the Cobb salad, but has the Honey Mustard dressing instead of the normal one provided. My kids love the kids menu items, although they hate the fact that the tvs only show surfer videos. We visit this one 3-4 times a year, especially for its proximity to the AMC Theatres in downtown Burbank. Dinner and a movie.

2022-04-07Food was meh. Had burger and beer. They wouldnt cook the burger medium rare so I was forced to get a burger that was more cooked than I preferred and it had too much mustard. Fries were meh. Hostess wouldnt give us a big table for 2 people even though there were literally only 2 people in the empty restaurant (see photos). Luckily waiter was cool with us moving tables. Free guacamole was nice if you sign up for their app. This place generally gets high reviews for nice decor and large portions but if you are searching for delicious food search elsewhere.

2021-10-24Islands is always a solid place to eat. This location is no exception. We got mai tais, my bf had a burger and fries, and I had a Chop Chop salad. I loved the salad and would get it again. My bf enjoyed his food too. There’s a QR code on the tables for the menu, and I noticed after I paid that there’s a QR code on the receipt you can use to pay, which is really cool. I’ll have to do that next time. Thanks for the great meal!

2022-07-19The whole meal was deliciously yummy, it was fresh and the sweet potato fries were OUT OF THIS WORLD perfectly done. Had a great family experience. Loved our visit.

2022-05-23Before go in and have dinner at this place, I would strong suggest a walk around the block to see their grease interceptor/sewer line spilling dirty water into the city storm drain. The island Burger restaurant grease interceptor/sewer is overflowing and dirty water is spilling into the city storm drain system. The grease interceptor is located on the back of the restaurant on N First Street. This issue is been happening for the past two weeks at least. They tried to fixed but the problem is back again. Two weeks. When they tried to fixed the issue they left the side walk dirty and full of grease, which is a trip hazard for pedestrians. This is not the first time that the grease interreceptor overflows and spills into the city storm drain. Each time this happens it takes the restaurant a long time to get the issue resolved.

2022-06-17First time visiting this Islands about a week ago before catching a movie. Sat at the bar, as time was limited. Food took a bit of time to come out, but was worth the wait. Burgers cooked perfectly and the Tiki Tai was delicious.

2022-05-30Nice environment and french view. The Turkey cold bread sandwich was very tasty but reminded me of canned flavors crossroads. The potatoes were good, not special. Overall, pretty good, but common.

2022-05-04I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients used by this establishment. The quality of the olive oil alone is remarkable. My friend and I ordered (highly recommended) octopus potatoes, beef carpaccio, duck ragu and a plate of shrimp pasta. Because how amazing the restaurant is - the prices are absolutely reasonable. I will be back again.
