Great location! Super close to Pasadena Convention Center. Back door exits into The Paseo open-air shopping district. Quick access to Colorado Blvd and plenty of nearby local food options.Breakfast is complimentary for all guests and has an impressive spread. Hot fare included scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes. Fresh fruit, Bagel/toast station, Chobani yogurt, plenty of juice and milk options. I didnt enjoy the coffee, but it was free.Standard King rooms are comfortable and all rooms appear to have a mini-fridge. As a Hyatt Globalist, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a King Suite Rm 623. Quite easily the best room on the whole property. The unit was super spacious (and thats an understatement). Living room had double-high ceilings, and a wrap-around balcony. Kitchenette was equipped with a microwave, sink and mini-fridge. No serveware is included, but you can get dishes/bowls from the lobby and cutlery during breakfast hours. Drapes are electronically controlled, however its not the most intuitive system.Odd quirks about this unit: charging outlets are few and far between. The sliding door to the bedroom cannot be locked for privacy, though it wasnt a concern for our family
The place gave me a very bad experience:1. Carparking needed $24/night. It might be normal in a hotel in downtown. However, they didnt mention it during booking. It was an annoying hidden fee. And on one night, we backed hotel around 10pm, there was no space in the garage and we had to park on the next garage of a shopping mall. Although we didnt need to pay more, it was still inconvenient. And we just realized the next garage only charged $9 per night.2. Sound insulation was very bad. We could easiliy hear the next room. When a couple did something on the bed, we were very embarrassed when my kids asked me what the sound it was.3. They provided breakfast. But variety is too less. There was no toast only bagel.4. We stayed for three nights. They never came in for cleaning. I thought they wouldnt come in only if I put a do not disturb sign.5. In the web site, they said the room was a king plus a sofabed. When we arrived, we realized actually the sofabed is only a sofa not sofabed.
Loved: great location and reasonably modern rooms, fast and helpful staff membersDidn’t love: very slow wifi (so slow I had to turn off wifi for my phone), mediocre breakfast, $24/day parking, no cutlery or plates (not even disposable) despite our unit having a kitchenette, minuscule bottles of toiletries
You have to schedule for service of your room at check-in. That’s fine. However, no one arriving during expected time, a time in which you must vacate from the room, is frustrating. Then to have the host suggest it’ll be any minute while in actuality they have no idea, furthers one’s frustration.I will also point out that the balcony on the fifth floor rooms cannot be considered up to any code. Having the floor below you move as you walk is unsettling.
Nice & clean place. Great location. Decent breakfast spread. Front desk staff was friendly, except the night shift person one night. He was not helpful when we checked in late night. And yes, make sure you call in advance to service your name. If you dont call, your room will not be cleaned.
Yes it’s conveniently located, yes it’s pretty, yes the breakfast is free and decent - but everything that’s energy is automatic or motion sensitive. So I’m glad the Hyatt is saving money, but that means that our room gets so hot at night because the ac doesn’t kick on. That means when we leave, our room will be hot for at least 30 minutes when we come back. That means when I take a shower, ITS IN THE DARK after 10 minutes. Also their towels are sand paper, so If you self tan or spray tan, bring your own. They also have that awful bar soap that makes your body feel rubbery.
Our stay in Hyatt Pasadena was lovely!I asked for a high floor room when booking on hyatts website and was given one on the 5th floor! Booked King Room and was perfect for two adults and a 7 year old. The room had a small seperate (seperated with a screen) living area with a sofa which was nice. Our 7 y.o.slept on that pull-out sofa at night and was comfortable. Check-in and check-out was a breeze and staff was very friendly and helpful.Location is great for exploring downtown Pasadena, lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance, which is why we chose this hotel. One slight negative was the breakfast. It was free (yay!), open 7am-10am and had an ok selection of food, even for our gluten intolerant daughter. However, one thing that put us off was that at 10:01am the breakfast areas lights got switched off and kitchen staff promptly started clearing everything off. There was no leeway given at all. So if you arrived for breakfast at 9:30am after a lazy sleep-in over your weekend getaway, and wanted a top up for your coffee at 10L00am, no chance of that! That was a shame, as it left us a bit dissapointed.Oh and the views from our room were of building contsruction right accross the walkway. Thank goodness, no work was underway during the weekend, as I can imagine it would have been noisy.
I have stayed at multiple Hyatt hotels. After staying multiple times at the Hyatt in Santa Clara I decided to get the Hyatt credit card. This is the only Hyatt that I will not be staying at again. The plus is the hotel is in a great location, the lobby is beautiful, and the breakfast is good. The cons when we checked in the girl made it seem like it was a honor to stay at this hotel, the room looked clean but when I went to take a shower 2 long piece of hair were on the side of the wall, for being the Hyatt the room I was in wasnt as great as all the other Hyatt hotels I have stayed at before. The parking if you are not going to be leaving anywhere park in the parking structure across the street its cheaper.
Stayed here for 7 nights and had a pleasant stay at Hyatt. Its conveniently located near many shops and restaurants (5 min - 10 min walk). The rooms are modern, spacious, and very clean. Complimentary breakfast with a good selection of foods). Highly recommend this hotel!Parking tip: Like many hotels in the LA County area, there is a parking fee of $24/day. You can avoid this fee if you are willing to take a 5 minute walk. There is abundant street parking on S Oakland Ave by Cordova St where you can park overnight (be sure you see the sign Overnight parking exempt and be aware of the street sweeping on Thurs/Fri). I parked here all 7 nights without any problems, plenty of parking spaces even when I came back around 10 pm.
Amazing place. It was so nice sleeping here. The beds were very comfortable, same with the pillows. The breakfast downstairs was amazing and the staff was too. I also enjoyed swimming in the pool The key card was a bit annoying sometimes if im being completely honest but that doesnt matter. Overall it was a great hotel and I would totally recommend it.
Very convenient to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and The Paseo Mall, the hotel is a block past the Auditorium on Green Street and across the street. Only about half a mile from Old Pasadena, too, an easy stroll. The rooms are contemporary in style and are standard sized with comfortably firm but cushioned mattresses and fluffy but compressible pillows. The large sitting area is furnished with unit corner unit couch and love seat wirh an ottoman/coffee table. Also included is a wall desk and a medium sized mini fridge. No microwave ovens in the room.Bathrooms are typical in size but clean and modern with larger counters around the sink. Ours had a shower but no tub.Breakfast is much nicer than most other chain hotels, with waffles, bacon and ham, and even a notably good fingerling potato medley. Also includes a selection of breads, cereals, fruit, juices and coffee.Parking is available underground. Alternatively, theres a lot across the street for for less than half the price the hotel charges and has a few EV chargers on the second floor (some are dedicated for city vehicles, so read the posted signs).
What an excellent hotel in the Los Angeles area. The hotel is in a very nice location within Pasadena and felt extremely safe. The hotel is accessible via the Los Angeles Metro from the Del Mar station which means its easy to get to from downtown or Union Station. The rooms were very large for a Hyatt Place location and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was extremely clean and I loved all the small details put in. For example, the towels are put above the shower instead of the toilet when you get out. The air conditioning worked well and there was free wi-fi as always. Status holders benefits are well recognized here and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast, however, was disappointing as the hotel is still obviously concerned about COVID. Even the juice is pre-packaged (unlike any hotel Ive stayed in since March) and the options are limited. Even the burritos, you cant microwave yourself, and have to ask for them. The lobby and seating area, however, is huge and is super comfortable, large, and modern! I loved our stay here and will certainly consider staying here in the future!
I will have to come back with more pictures. We have had an incredible experience so far, the hotel is nice and clean, they are following Covid mask protocols, the rooms are spacious and clean (with the exception of the space on the top of the free standing closet, however, I have no doubt that if notified, they would rectify it), the hotel staff have all been very welcoming. The breakfast takes into account Covid and is so good, fruit, cereal, bagels, a hot breakfast in individual containers of eggs, bacon and slices of French toast, milk, coffee, juices and a mix of almond milk. Definitely would come back again and would recommend to anyone!
Clean, new hotel. Smells great. The decor is ok. Only 1 elevator to the underground parking. The only down side is that the pool is rather small and their quiet time from 10 pm - 7 am can be a real pain especially if youre in the area / in town for a celebration that may have you come back to your room late and kinda of loud. Cheers!
Half the staff at the front desk are not friendly and have no business being in hospitality. I booked through hotels.com with parking included and they tries to charge for overnight parking. Then after the first room they gave me was a mess, they said they were not going to charge me for parking. The first room they gave me was. on the third floor. The sink was not clean and there was dirt and stains on all surfaces like the place was not wiped down. I was switched to room 616 where the bed towards the window (with a view of construction) made squeaking noises when you got in and out of the bed. They do not have a laundry on site. After a week of being there I went to do laundry the morning of check out and they wouldnt extend my check-out past 30 min. I had to beg for an additional 30 min. I asked to speak to the manager but the woman avoided giving the phone to the manager. The Togo breakfast is decent and there is hot coffee and tea. The microwave is downstairs unless you ask them to bring one to your room. Other than those issues, comfy beds, nice sheets, hot shower. Guests wore their masks everywhere in the hotel regardless of vaccinations. Hotel is inside and outdoor mall that gives you discounts at their retailers and starbucks is a 1 minute walk. Overall an ok stay.
Recently stayed at the Hyatt in Pasadena, front desk staff was friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and adequately appointed. Centrally located, with shopping, restaurants and entertainment venues within walking distance. If you need a room in Pasadena here is the spot.
Very expensive for a 3 star hotel and parking is just as expensive @ a whopping 24$ a night for a 2 day stay thats a weekly check for a majority of us. Not impressed by any means and wont stay again. No Toilit paper after a few hrs there. Bar closed super early on a Friday night and breakfast was a not so great breakfast sandwich... key to go up n down elevators is great security however when they only gave one key at check in leaves you at the door holding your breath for a Elevator that dont go up or down!
Decent hotel. Its was less than a year old when I visited in October but it seemed like it was older. The doors to the rooms were the tell tale sign. Self serve complimentary breakfast was included. It was eggs, toast, fruit, coffee, tea. Its served in the lobby area. There is plenty of seating to eat. I did laundry service at the hotel and my undergarments werent returned with my other items. I was leaving the next day. The manager tracked down my items and got them to me before the night was over. He also comped my laundry service for the inconvenience. I appreciated the good customer service in resolving this issue. Had it not been for this managers response to my issue the Hyatt would probably be getting a 3 start review.
Great bartender. Both drinks tasted wonderful!Room met expectations. I went on a busy weekend so didnt ask for higher floor or put any special request. Its nice to have breakfast included. However, I got spoiled milk. Not only 1 box but two. The manager in duty just said check the expiration date and also told me we did everything right, if anything wrong it must be our supplier. Go to your doctor if you have any concerns. Ummm...no apology delivered at all.I mean, I am not supposed to expect spoiled milk. I drank a big sip after food. If thats no ones fault, then I was having a bad luck drinking it.Its not right on how they treated me!Our trip end up got spoiled and went home directly after check out. Its disgusting that I could smell the spoiled milk even in the afternoon. Worst experience in Hyatt brands ever.
We arrived very late to the hotel and we were greeted with a smile, smooth check in, and a complimentary breakfast. The hotel it self is centrally located in Pasadena one block away from Colorado Blvd that has many shopping and dining options. It has also a decent pool and a fitness center. As for the rooms, they were spacious and clean. All in all, checks all the right boxes
Review from a Globalist. Very disappointing stay for my family. We stayed same day as America Got Talent auduinjng happened. Someone was playing guitar until 5am. I called hotel front desk multiple times and it didnt stop. Room sericse very very rude next day as well. Wouldnt recommend this place and not planning coming back. Checking was efficient.
My favorite Hyatt Place in the US! The suites are spacious with a view of the mountains. Convenient to restaurants & shops - but the best aspect is the customer service. Operations Mgr Joker Soriano and the rest of the team offer exceptional service. This is my 4th stay in 3 months and I plan to come back when ever in Pasadena for work/play!
Great rooms. Designed very well. Compact, modern, functional, and moderately minimal. There are lots of great details. For ex. Towels in shower. Tissie paper tucked under heath vanity, custom sectional. Etc.I suggest staff and cleaners leaving rooms empty one day in between at a time. So the smell of the person before leaves.I had a great room initially, then moved to another room.Needs higher quality towels.Business center times on computer need to be extended to 10 + min. Anything shorter seems unprofessional.
Our family (2 small kids and 2 adults) are staying at the hotel for a few nights. Its in a fantastic area and very beautiful. Theres a lot for kids to do nearby and the hotel is very accommodating. The room was advertised as family friendly and it is, but the bathroom doesnt have a tub and the shower doors let water all over the room when you try to wash the kids. Both lights are also on a motion sensor that cant be over rode, so in the middle of the night all bathroom trips light up the entire room, not just the bathroom. Otherwise the breakfast was great and we loved it for the most part.
From start to settling in, this place has been great. The facility itself is really nice, but I have to say, the real difference has been the staff. Polite, professional, accommodating and more. After a long drive I just wanted to settle in and relax. Your staff has been great. From the reception to the bar/ kitchen staff, Ive been so impressed. I really wouldnt want to stay anywhere else in Pasadena. Thank you!
I never write reviews, but the service I received staying here was out of this world extraordinary and I had to make sure to compliment these amazing women on staff at the Hyatt. Paola and Angelica at the front desk answered all of my questions with such kindness. I was having a real rough morning and they not only made sure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed while I was there, but also checked on me to make sure I was doing better. I had a late flight so I spent a whole lot of time hanging around the lobby so it was really pleasant to have a relaxing space where I could work. The room was clean, cozy and quiet. The food at the bar was delicious and the breakfast was great as I grabbed stuff on my way out. All in all, excellent stay for an otherwise unpleasant reason for travel. I am very thankful to Paola and Angelica for making a world of difference in my day and in my stay. Thank you both!
This is a NEW HOTEL... Opened on December 2018.Everything its new and modern. The hotel is so clean and neat. The staff is very friendly. All bedrooms are spacious and they are nicely designed. The only thing is that because the underground parking structure belongs to the City of Pasadena, you have to pay a fee of $24.00 dlls per night with the privilege of going in and out all the times that you wish, so before you book your room be aware of that so you wont have any inconvenient with the front desk.
Really nice hotel. Fairly new with some construction still going on in surrounding area, but nothing that got in the way of access etc to the hotel. If you street view on Google maps it currently looks like its being built. It is there and the room was a generous size with 2 Queen beds and a sofa bed. Our room had a shower, but some have baths.Simple breakfast self serve.Car Parking isnt free. $25 per day. This is due to the underground car park being owned by the local council.
A very decent hotel in this area. Super convenient location near high way, pubs, restaurants and shops.Friendly front desk staff but very ordinary house keeper. Even with a decent tip($5 per day), the house keeper still cannot get things done smartly: they discarded the plastic bag in the champagne cooler and the used soap but didn’t leave a new one! They even discarded a bottle of water that i didn’t finished🤷♂️🤦♂️Except the house keeping, everything else is above the average of 4-star hotels, especially the size of the room. Definitely will come back and stay here again in my next trip.
We were fairly happy with our stay. Bed’s super comfy as is with all Hyatts. Nice size room. Was surprised with the location being open less than a year that our bed creaked a ton. I’m in my third trimester, so getting comfortable is difficult. And every time I adjusted, I woke my husband up.We paid a little bit extra for “city view.” Which just means you’re on the street side of the building. Our view was of a courtyard and you can’t really see beyond it unless you’re on a higher floor (we were on the second). So don’t bother bc it’s probably quieter on the back side unless you pay for a high floor. The real kicker for me was that we paid $24 for parking, but they oversell their lot. So they had us park in “over flow” which is the Paseo lot next door - that maxes out at $9 a day. Why did I pay Hyatt an extra $24 for on-site parking and then have to park in a lot that everyone else only paid $9 for? Then had to walk my pregnant, bedresting self up to the hotel? It’s close, so I normally wouldn’t be picky about it. But had I known we would have paid almost three times the amount as the car parked next to me, I would have just planned to park in paseo all along. Thankfully it was only 1 night or it would add up quickly. They argue that it’s “in and out privileges,” so I guess if you plan to come and go it would be worth it, but the perk of Pasadena is that everything is walking distance, so choose accordingly. Was our first and only night away from our toddler before our second child is born / our 5 year anniversary, so maybe my expectations were high. For $200 a night after parking, I just would have expected a little more, but overall it was a decent stay. Will probably try Glendale or other next time instead of Pasadena if we choose Hyatt again.
Great establishment. I felt secure as well. They had security around the clock and do not allow for uninvited entry everyone must have a key. VERY CLEAN! 24HR grill is available in case you arrive late and need a bite to eat and with some grab and go selections. Gym is phenomenal, not your average hotel gym. Bar is open late for those who drink. Classic board games available by the bar/lobby. There is city parking right next door for less than the hotel parking lot, the hotel lot is actually within the city lot just some reserved spots for hotel which was always full, best to spend less and be in the same space just park closer to hotel.Wide variety of breakfast options. WiFi available as well.
This deserves 5 times the stars. Its a brand new hotel. Everything is modern, trendy, and bright. Staff was very kind, efficient, and helped with any problems. We asked for an extra towel and box of tissues and they were brought up to the room so quickly, we didnt expect it. Everything was beautifully designed. The bathroom was clean, sleek and modern. The breakfast was amazing. It was set up like a modern kitchen and the food was amazing as well as an asthetic. The only thing I could say is that... at least when we stayed, parking was 25 a night. The stay here was last minute due to some travel mishaps, but it was an unexpected treat. We then had to move to our original booking the next night which was horrible compared to this Hyatt. I wish we couldve canceled the next booking and extended this one, although the price tag was just a little higher, it wouldve been entirely worth it.
I stayed May 7-8 while my AC unit was being repaired. You would think because all of the amenities like the pool and gym were closed that something like $24 per day parking would be comped, but they were not. No one answered the phone from the room when we called reception and we had to go down in person to order anything. The walls are paper-thin, so despite the hotel hardly being full, we could hear conversations of guests across the hall. The room was bright and has lights in the bathroom that could not be turned off. And because the AC unit has an energy saving movement sensor on it, once you stop moving (you know, sleep) the AC turns off and the room gets hot. After waking up 5 times to adjust it, my husband and I were so fed up, around 1am we got in the car and drove home and slept in our house with no AC. Not what I expected from a new hotel that is a Hyatt. Biggest waste of $180.
Very cold and austere atmosphere. No one to greet you at the front door to help with your luggage or ask if youre checking in. Had to ask at the front desk. Front desk didnt offer to help. Big lobby with many sitting areas with high ceilings but no one was there. This is on a Friday and one would expect a busier place at check in. Only one small counter with two stations for check in. There probably will be a line when its time to check out at noon. Dont like how they have this all set up and really wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Rooms are standard. Best thing about the rooms is that everything is new. Opened in December 2018.
I have to be fair and say that the hotel has been renovated and is very very modern looking . Maybe four to five floors high... kinda of squashed between other high rise buildings on a hill area. Very large reception area with one or two people at the desk 24 hours. It is a basic but dressed up style of a basic hotel. beds are comfy. Some hotels have a gift shop with sundries that you can buy. They don’t have anything except for a book case area with packages of pretzels candy and a fridge with some cold drinks. They charge you on the card for these. They also placed some games like clue and monopoly that are made of wood . One customer was looking for Tylenol and asked me if I had any. It has a very “ sterile “ feel. Service is like the basic hotels in towns that aren’t service oriented. It doesn’t feel warm and inviting. One thing I didn’t care for was the automated doors. You have to have a card to wave in front of a black disk to even enter the front doors. When we went to park underground we weren’t told this. Fortunately the front desk girl saw us and allowed us into the hotel lobby. Also, they give you a parking pass or they charge 25.00 if you don’t display it in the vehicle. So we had to go back to the car to place the pass rather than having the parking lot man do this.there is no valet for parking as you just drive underground yourself. Also , when we tried to take the elevator from parking to the reception area we couldn’t get into the glass encasement because you need the card to pass through. So the parking lot guy told us to press some button so they let you in. It such high security it feels like Guantanamo. You need to pass this card to get into the hotel, to open elevator doors , before you press the button for the floor you want to go to or you just stand there , to get through the pool area doors ( poor signage down a long small hall way on second floor , but pool looked pretty) , to get into your room and I think to get into the bathrooms in the hallways. It seems corporate has Eliminated the people . I guess the hotel could be 100 percent automated. It seemed very clean and tidy. They have a lovely bar and sitting area but not very quality service as there are few people there. The front desk People are inexperienced and young ... not their fault .... but if you need something they won’t go out of there way ... youre on your own. They can answer most of your questions. Price is justified because it’s Pasadena . Other customers seemed happy especially if it’ is for just a few nights . Good location.close to mall a few mall restaurants and close to Hilton hotel. Beds seemed very comfortable and they have a nice L shaped couch . Bathroom is tight and small . Rooms a bit on the small side more long narrow. Window looks out on the construction site. Typical hotel. Great for short stays if the lock in - out thing doesn’t bother you and the lack of human Iinteraction. Reminds me of a hotel for people that just want a place to sleep because they are going to work in the morning. Other than the pool it’s not a hotel to hang out in. Hopes this helps.
Breakfast is good. However on the Christmas Eve the fire alarm in the room kept flashing for the whole day. I wasn’t able to take a nap at all. The front desk lady said it’s a mandatory test, but why on Christmas Eve? She/Hotel didn’t apologize for this inconvenience. On the day we check in that lady never smiled or greeted us and some of the staff placed us into a room is already occupied..This is how you know it’s not a top hotel.
SHOULD HAVE BOOKED IN ANOTHER HOTEL. I have booked here for business purpose for two weeks and been leaving notes to clean the room and even told the front desk. But most of the days when I arrive from work, the room is at the same way that I left. I didn’t mind in the previous days. But on my last day of stay, instead of having a peaceful night, I got horrified that the room is not cleaned. Even the trash was not thrown. I got a room that is more than $250 a night, and I get this. WORST HOTEL THAT I BOOKED EVER.
The room was very nice as far as amenities and modernisation goes, felt very convenient. Everything was clean, as I would expect from this reputable chain. The hotel is in walking distance of the Pasadena convention center, as well as a few other local hotspots, and it makes for a great business travel accommodation.
Located half a block from Colorado street where lots of shop and restaurants. Its a very new hotel, Rooms are clean and comfortable.. It also provide free breakfast and coffee. Try to get room on higher floor and facing the font entrance. Back side of hotel may get noisy due to construction during weekdays.
I needed a place to recoup from the stress of COVID/family etc. The staff and reviewers neglected to mention that there was construction going on right next door and I mean RIGHT next door starting at 7 am with men walking around able to look into the windows as well. It was impossible to work and I check out early. Also there is a parking fee which I can not stand. And honestly I am not spoiled but Jeez you have to carry your bags from parking into a little glass case (that needs to be opened by your room key) to get to the elevator. You are lucky if there is a cart which there wasnt. Thats two trips up and down wearing a freakin mask. Oh and of course no room service but they give you what is called a breakfast. Maybe thats the new normal breakfast for all I know. You have to make a reservation for the pool too. Oh and gym is closed. Couldnt get out of there fast enough.
Very rigid rules. Literally pulling plates away of food at serving counter due to their strict 9 am no more breakfast policy. Caught one of the workers shaking her head in response to me asking for an eating utensil. Several others behind me in line missed the hard 9 am shutdown policy were disappointed as well. Too bad. The rooms and overall facility is nice and clean
The room was quite comfortable (other than Hyatts obstinacy with night tables without a drawer) and very well appointed. The place looks impeccable in general, the service professional, and the breakfast is good. The low points were the rooms outdated coffeemaker and terrible coffee, and the lack of body lotion and showercup.
This is great location for dining and strolling around. There are a lot of chain restaurants immediately around the Hyatt. We had to walk a bit further to find local mom and pop restaurants. The staff is very friendly. Underground parking seems limited and is 24 a day as of this writing. My kids and I here for a conference at WB studios with ATT. Less than 20 minutes to studio. Rooms are clean and well laid out. Heated pool on 2md floor. Great value per night.
This hotel looks really nice and still smells like new! The complimentary breakfast was great. The Le Creuset ovens for the breakfast along with the homestyle look was a nice touch--the eggs were really fluffy! Nice location next to the Paseo Mall with plenty of shopping and restaurants available, along with a movie theater. The staff knew what they were doing and every interaction I had with them was pleasant. The only complaint I have is about the lights in the bathroom--they turned off on me multiple times per shower. Others had the same complaint. Also, the bathroom door is translucent so at night the bathroom lights up the whole room.
Worst experience ever, we arrived to the hotel after booking from Expedia. Coming in to the room all of the elevators were not functioning. Entering our room we noticed something not right. We had paid for a suite online and we given a standard double bed. As we tried to figure out with the receptionist we were turned down because what paid is not the correct price for the suite(completely out of our hands). We were then given a choice to keep the standard room or leave, we felt belittled and unwelcomed. We had children with us and expressed that did not fit our needs. The hotel host did not to correct the issue however push us to leave. It was a very disappointing expierence for us at this Hyatt Place.
I had a wonderful stay at your Pasadena property! Not only is the property absolutely beautiful, but the staff members are amazing. Big kudos to Drew, Emanuel, Monica, and Nazmoot for providing wonderful customer service. Great location, beautiful/clean rooms, and wonderful amenities!
I booked Oct. 11-13 for 2 bedrooms with free breakfast. At the arrival date, when I was confirming my reservations, I was already dismayed to hear that there was no free breakfast ($13/day/rm) nor free parking ($24/day/rm) included. In the room, I hurriedly asked my wife to contact her cousins wife who made the reservations for us and told her the situation. She was able to get the breakfasts free but not the parking. The parking was terrible at night because they ran out of spaces and had to reassign us to the Palisade Parking adjacent to Hyatts. In my estimate, Hyatt has no more than 60 spaces available for their own guests because of construction. Also comparing to Hyatts Place in San Mateo where we previously stayed in standard mini suites, the room rates are expensive. The rooms had no microwave ovens so we had to eat our dinners outside. The only good thing going for this place is the proximity to our destination and the Palisade shops and restaurants. Palisade parking I think is only $15/day but Hyatt charged $24. The place is only about a year old. 2 stars less for overpaid parking and no microwaves.
This is the first review I’ve ever written. The staff here had some strange policy that you had to have a wristband to get in, it was during the rose bowl weekend so trying to keep from non-paying guests getting in made sense. The problem was they were very over the top with it.The morning of my flight I had to leave at 6:30 am so I was up and about, and was gonna grab some coffee before getting on the road. They had a rent-a-cop guarding the breakfast and you had to tell them the room number. They denied me entry into anything even though I had the stupid wristband anyway.Overall, poor customer service and treated me pretty crappy for the price they were charging to stay there for rose bowl weekend
The philipino lady at the front desk who checked us in gave me a very bad impression of the hotel. She started off with a very fake attitude towards us, filled with sarcasm. This was completely different from her attitude towards the white couple ahead of us. I must also mention that i am a hardworking American, proud of my chinese heritage. I feel she was extremely discriminating. In addition, one of my family members needed a handicapped room, which she was unwilling to give us and told us to wait to the next day. This is absolutely unacceptable. I wish your hotel management to make amends. I am also an ihg rewards memeber
Worst hotel experience Ive ever had I decided to stay here last minute I check in to the Room and Have a awful smell I left immediately The front desk didnt even care or bother to try to accommodate so checked out immediately the next day I find out they have a charged my card for the stay and Smoking fee of $300. These guys are the worst shadiest hotel in town
Although there were some hiccups, their friendly and warm staff went above and beyond to make up for it. The Manager-in-training, Paola was awesome. Their servers/bartenders, namely Ersin and Daniel were very friendly and helpful. These employees are definite keepers!
It was my first time in California and loved this hotel! i came for monster palooza and the location was perfect and was also surrounded by a lot of shopping areas and food options. the staff were super nice and informative and i definitely plan to book with this hotel in the future. 😊
Just right for the business travelers, we held our meeting, visited a local restaurant for dinner, retired, got up at 5, ate breakfast at 6ish and departed. A very pleasant staff, just right breakfast cuisine, comfortable rooms, big shower, bright, cheerful experience.
This is the first time and the last time I’m going to this hotel. They made me pay two times for one night and they were also very racist towards me, when I went to eat breakfast with my family, the employe ask my for my last name , my first name, the room number I was in and for the floor number the room was at. I was very confused why they asked for that information. So I told her “Why are you asking me for this”, she said to check if I pay or not. Then a lot of white people pass by us and the employe didn’t ask them nothing. I ask her why she didn’t ask them for there information. So I ask her is it because I’m Mexican and they are white after I ask her that question she started laughing. I’M NEVÉR COMING BACK TO THIS HOTEL!!

2022-06-27This hotel has everything, a pool, outdoor seating with games and a gas fire pit. The room are clean and very accommodating for all. Pet friendly. Water pressure in our room was intense. Breakfast buffet included eggs, sausage, fruit parfait, cereals, Oatmeal and juices. Parking is $24 a night. We had to park in overflow parking at the mall next door. We were given a parking pass to avoid the mall charge too. The area is very walkable and enjoyable.

2022-01-13Room: Good size, well laid out. Shower had decent water pressure.Cleanliness: for the most part the room was clean, no loose hair, didnt feel dirty... except the next morning I noticed mascara on the comforter. Neither my wife or I wear mascara so thats disconcerting.Parking: you self park under the hotel. However, its weird. You park in one direction. However, you cant make a complete loop to exit the garage. If all the marked parking spots are taken like they were one night, you cant exit without going against traffic. They need to mark off the end spots by the exit so you can actually loop to exit. Also, only one of the two elevators goes to the parking garage. The other only goes to the first floor where you either have to get off and wait for the other one or leave and walk outside to the escalators. Annoying.Breakfast: it was grab and go but you can sit at the big tables with strangers, take your mask off, and eat right there next to the breakfast area. The food was good, for those of us COVID conscious, it was a little weird.

2022-06-01I highly recommend this hotel. Its new, its modern and roomy. Best of all: really nice and heartwarming customer service. Angelo made our 15 yr anniversary stay very special :) and comfortable. Its a convenient location away from the busy LA area with a beautiful view of the mountains in the Pasadena area! Breakfast: very nice variety with fresh berries! Next time we visit LA/Disneyland, well definitely book here again and recommend family & friends to here. Loved it here! THANKS ANGELO!!

2021-12-28Pretty much everything you can ask for when it comes to a hotel in this price range... Quiet, clean, well-designed rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, heated pool and outdoor fireplace and in a convenient location. Our family of 3 really enjoyed our stay here.

2022-05-08Been played by being told free parking, but end up with still getting charged!Due to a long wait when checking in, I was told the three night parking would be free and on him by a gentlemen at the front desk. I appreciated to him. But when checking out, the lady at the front desk still charged me the parking fee for three night. I told her the fact, but she said not getting any note from the gentlemen. She even told me she couldn’t help me at all on the problem at that moment.I had no choose but giving a call to Chase to complain the problem. (I redeemed three nights by Chase credits.) After Chase’s help, the lady could refund only one night parking fee because she out of sudden found the note saying only one night for free. Actually, I doubted on the real of the note. But I havent gotten an evidence, I didnt have a chance to have a look at the “note” in person. Finally, I ended up with being charged two nights parking fee. The parking fee was not a big deal. I just felt being played! I am feeling awful and never choose Hytta anymore!

2021-12-11Hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. My wife and I stayed in the king bed room with sofa and there is ample space. The bed and pillows were soft and just right. Ive never been in a hotel room that is well lit in every corner. The shower had plenty of pressure, space and height if youre a tall person.

2022-04-06Recently, I had a business trip to Pasadena and had selected the Hyatt Place hotel. It was centrally located and very convenient for my work. I tried to check-in early on a Wednesday and was told my room wasn’t available yet. The desk clerk asked for my mobile number and told me they would text me when it was available. Of course, I never got that text and decided to check in around 6 PM when I was done with work. I mentioned this error to the new desk clerk and she upgraded me to very nice suite on the second floor. Not sure if it was because I’m a “Hyatt Globalist” or because of the error, but I was tired and happy when I checked into the room. It was much larger space than I need it for a single person, but was very nice to come back to the hotel at the end of exhausting days. Didn’t have any meals at the hotel since my days are very long, but I did enjoy my stay and will stay there again the next time I’m in Pasadena!

2022-05-31The lobby looks great, but the water pressure of the shower is very low. The wifi connection is no that good. And most importantly the room is not noise-proof: Can still here the noise from the neighbor room and from the street. Dont recommend.
