It was a sad visit. We had to put down our beloved çhiwowow KC and did not know what to expect beyond being extremely sad. They take donations for this service. The entire staff was beyond exceptional. Very sympathetic and caring. We got a private room and my wife and I were there until the end. It was painless for our furry family member KC and the compassion they showed was touching. My wife got to spend a few extra minutes with her precious KC and was allowed time to be with her and say good by. If I could give 10 stars I would.
Every time that Ive gone to this clinic, its been an awful experience. On multiple occasions, I was told that my dog required very expensive tests and procedures, which weren’t at all necessary. When I requested that my dog just receive the low-cost vaccines that we had scheduled for, they berated me for it, and refused to treat him. Again, this happened more than once! Let me also mention, I had been there multiple times before, and by that point, I had spent hundreds on diagnostic procedures that actually were needed, so I am not at all a negligent owner. The vets at this location are definitely immoral and interested in lining their pockets, rather than treat pets and build long-standing relationships with their pet parents. In fact, they reduced me to tears on three separate occasions that I can think of. To this day, this place has given me the worst customer experiences that I’ve ever had.
Don’t bother calling them! We managed to catch a little stray kitty. She is in heat. I called to see about getting her spayed and the woman I talked to got an attitude and said that the soonest they could get her in was November. It’s July…. that is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of! No wonder we have so many litters of kittens everywhere. Trying to do the right thing seems so hard. Aren’t these places supposed to help?
The San Bernardino County Humane Society in my opinion deserves a 5 star rating for sure 🐈🐕. Ive had to take a couple of my doggies there to be euthanized. They had to change their procedures cuz of COVID-19 & much to my surprise it all went very smoothly. The staff was extremely nice and very polite n supportive, the veterinarian was knowledgeable, we were given time to say our goodbyes and they went peacefully. And at the end of it all i wasnt charged a single dime for any of it. Thank u so much to the staff n doctors for being so kind & helping me get thru one of the hardest things Ive had to do in my entire life. I truly believe that there is indeed a special place in heaven for these people.
Waited on the phone for 12 minutes only for a rude guy to answer and go “hello?!” No name, no how can I help you etc. Then I proceed to tell him that I found a cat and have nowhere to take him because the shelters are closed today and he goes “well we’re not an animal shelter you should just wait one more day.” And hung up on me! He could’ve handled that so much better.
When my sister and I first took our puppy Daisy to get her shots they said shes the smallest puppy theyve seen she weighted 2lb exactly... We took her back for her 2nd set of shots theyre like awww she grew a lil bigger and felt a little heavier they weighed her again they said she only gained 5ounces... Well before leaving they said shes the cutest smallest puppy that they had go in there. This place is so good and friendly and I think everyone is safe to go here with their pets. :)
All I had was one question. Called, put on hold very long time. Never returned call. Went down next day, cat side locked, went in when someone went out. Waited in line. When it was my turn I was told that they are not answering any questions and I had to go into dog side and wait in a line that was extended out the door. Only two people working the counter and phone ringing off the hook with nobody available to answer phones. A horribly run operation. If you dont have enough people to work and do the services you claim to provide, HIRE SOME....
The vets and all of the techs were amazing. My dog was taken care of so well here, I would recommend this place to any dog owner. The vets and techs are such sweethearts. The only thing is the receptionist always (3x) messed up my apt, the time or never checked me in. That was the only downfall
2 weeks ago I recently lost my dog. I panicked because my dog wasnt feeling good and I knew he was going. I brought him here all emotional and ugly. The staff were beyond amazing and I want to thank the miss esp. That sits on the far right by the exist door as I didnt get her name. I was an emotional mess and she was beyond kind and caring. She just let me have all the time with him and was very understanding. Which Im pretty sure you see all the time but you grieved a little with me and that meant alot. I got his ashes back yesterday and that really made me cry again but you guys rested him well. Thank you for everything and thank you gateway for properly putting him to rest.
Took my kitten for a wellness check and they did a full work up. As a precaution, they did a skin graph, infection check, and flea medication. She ended up needing all of it (which I believed because she did have scratches that kept spreading) it all ended up costing $180 but since I couldnt afford it, I planned on coming back. They went out of their way to do everything necessary for her just so that she can be healthy and protected, as well as the family and to pay the rest off on the recheck appointment. This is the best treatment Ive had since this is my first time owning a pet. Id recommend this facility to everybody. Made me feel loved and welcomed 💛🧡🤎
Very helpful staff. I needed to get my kitten in for shots and spay and they did everything in one day. Prices are very good. I also got a chip for my kitten at half price. Sashi healed very quickly and is back to her crazy antics. Highly recommend the San Bernadino Humane Society.
We had a mama cat and her two kittens move into our crawl space. We needed to get all of them fixed. We were able to get mom spayed and then return the next day with the two kittens and get them neutered/spayed. They are all doing very well now. The staff was professional and they were able to hold onto mama for the night (for an extra charge) which helped because we had to drive down from Lake Arrowhead to do this and it saved an extra trip. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs vet services for their animal.
This was the most difficult decision we had to make and was met with the kindest receptionist and animal care technician ever. They made our distress tolerable and comforted us during the experience of putting our 16 year old dog down that was in pain. Thank you so much for being there for us during our grief. Your the best.
7 months to the day of my 11 year old son passing away, on my parents 37 year Anniversary, I had to put my loving 10+ year old short haired cat to sleep forever. They were understanding, sympathetic, knowledgeable, and caring people. Thank you for taking care of the best feline Ive ever had.
I’m leaving a 5 star rating because I know this to be a wonderful place, but I’m also disappointed this morning because I have been trying for over an hour to make a donation, and the link on the website doesn’t work, nor does the person answering the telephone when I called know how to do it. This isn’t ok. I wonder how many people have had the same experience. Please fix it so people can more easily donate.
We took our sick cat here for diagnosis and possible treatment. The staff are very polite and caring. Regrettably, she had to be euthanized. The vet calmly helped us through the process and put our cat to sleep without pain and promptly. This was not the first time we have been extremely pleased with this clinic. Thanks to them for all their compassionate work!
Unfortunately I had to euthanize my 14 year old dog a week ago, but I heard that the humane society did it for free. Sure enough I called, and yes, it was free (if you want cremation, there is a charge though; I personally didnt want that). I didnt need an appointment, either. The staff was really friendly and so empathetic, they gave me as much time as I needed to say my goodbyes. I highly recommend the Humane Society.
Ive Loved this place since my first dog. They have helped me so much.Today I had an issue and the local hospital wanted to charge me $550.00Humane Society of San BernardinoGod bless their souls they only charged me 64.50 what a blessing I am so grateful.I highly recommend them. They know what theyre doing. This is not my first round with the Humane Society of San Bernardino they have helped me so many times throughout my years of being a paw mom.Grateful grateful gratefulThank You Humane Society of San Bernardino🐾💖🐾
Staff needs to do better at communicating things. Took my dog to get spayed and vaccinated, I was not told Id have to wait 1 hr in a room to be called before surgery and another hour after when picking her up. Also, please give better accurate projected expenses, I was quoted 2 different numbers and it was an extra $25 on top of that.Other than that place looks clean, staff is somewhat friendly.
This place is absolutely horrible!!!I called to make an appointment for my Chihuahua and was told that it sounded serious and to just come in without an appointment. I show up the next day and was turned away at the door saying that they aren’t taking walk-ins. So I called to try to make an appointment again, and they make an appointment for a whole month later. I asked what should I do in the meantime? They say they’re not allowed to give advice and I would have to see a doctor. So in my frustration with the place, I ask what if he dies before then, should I call and cancel or just not show up? And the rude girl on the phone said, “ calling is preferable“. I would never recommend this place, not even to my worst enemy. Animals deserve better than this!
Took my Daisy in to be spayed, chipped and given her remaining shots. They were informative, took care of my baby. Dropped her off in the morning and they called me around noon and said I could pick her by 130. She healed fast and I couldnt even tell she even had surgery, its like to her it never happened. She did have to wear the cone of shame for alittle bit, but honestly where they made the incision, she couldnt even reach to lick. This is 2nd furbaby Ive taken to them and they treat you and your pets with care and respect!!
Our cat was gravely ill.. We did not need an appointment to have him put down and it was free. We are struggling financially and they were generous. The wait was about 45 minutes. They only let 2 people go in with our cat.. The staff member was so compassionate, it takes a very special person to do this kind of work. We are devasted but are grateful for the free service and compassionate care.
We were hoping to be seen as a walk-in today - we suspect our cat has tapeworms. We arrived at 8:05am and waited in line until a staff member put out a sign saying “no walk-ins today”. Is there anywhere we can check online for regular updates on walk-ins? I haven’t been able to get in touch with someone by phone. No luck getting a phone call back after leaving a voicemail.
I’ve been taking my pets here for years and even donate to them but over the years there volunteer staff/ workers have gotten bad rude and unprofessional. I had three of my pets put down not one but three at once they were sick they also weren’t just pets they were my family they were emotional support pets ! I was waiting for weeks for them to call back I had my babies creamated they lied and said they called me plus I was calling because I knew in my gut they were ready to be picked up!!!!! Yes they are cheaper but sometimes cheaper isn’t always better !!!!! I have proof they didn’t call and most likely will see a lawyer for the emotional stress over this needless to say my donations will go elsewhere!!!!!
Staff is really friendly and helpful. Please bring a mask with you, water for your pet friend. Small wait outside, however not bad if you are prepared. Be kind to the volunteers, they are following their guidelines for masks and social distancing. Building is very clean, again staff is great and so good with our pets.
I went for the first time last week. Friendly staff and they treated my cat very well. My only issue is the long wait time to drop off and pick up our animals.Standing in line for over an hour really strained my back and feet, but that isnt their fault. Just be prepared for a long wait time. It would have been better if there was a seating area near the entrance for the long waiting period.Overall good experience.
Made two phone calls a week apart and waited on hold for 25 minutes each time and ended leaving a message both times which they said they returns calls in 24 to 48 hours to the San Bernardino Humane Society to get vaccinations for my dog. Never got a return call. Mind you they sent me a reminder card yet they wont answer the phone or return messages. No more donations to the San Bernardino Humane Society for me.
Very safe, with social distancing in the open. Very organized, too, as paperwork was distributed ahead of time and then picked up outside the very spacious and clean building. One person at a time allowed in. Very professional vet, good explanation of the procedure and alternative options. When picking up neutered animal that afternoon, again very clear instructions. And the cost was quite affordable. Neutering, vaccination, anaesthesia for three days and plastic cone/collar was $ 111. I paid $ 140 just vor vaccination at a private vet a while ago
I went on Saturday to get my cats vaccinated. Got there at 8:15 am and yes there was a bit of a line formed. Which is to be expected. Awful timing that there system went down for about 45 min. Everyone in line outside in the hot sun including pets. Little communication from staff. Not very welcoming but the Vet or Attendant (not sure what his position is) was extremely courteous and informative. Would go back because of him.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Lynn Hildebrand, Teri Seymour and Frank Padilla are a bunch of monsters!!! They Killed the dog I was taking care of, Big Red!!! My friend who I think may have a form of dementia got sucked into signing his dogs life away at the hospital, of all places. Red was being rescued and they would not wait for my friends family to be contacted or wait for the court house to be open so I could file an injunction. This all took place yesterday, 02/19/18 at 04:20 pm, minutes before they closed. They have no compassion for any animal. Beware of these so called human beings. Big Red was only 3 1/2 years old and in excellent health. I have never heard of a place going out of their way to get a death warrant. Padilla had the audacity to imply to me that I would be able to say goodbye, but instead hung-up on me twice. They had me wait in the office, acting like it would be just a little bit before I could say goodbye. Instead at 04:20 pm they told it was too late, he was already dead. I proceeded to exit the door, I turned around and told him he was an ***Hole. He smirked, Have a nice day! I will spend unlimited amounts of money to expose this so called caring place. If you care about your pets and your money, DO NOT GO HERE!!! I miss and love you Big Red, until we meet again.Do the research before going here. Google Lynn Hildebrand and find out the truth.

2021-12-18Didnt expect to leave a review for such a heartbreaking event in my life however I was so grateful for how caring and how dignified they made the whole process of putting our old guy to sleep. He was riddled with cancer & was my daughters lifelong friend. I was worried of how this process would go but they made sure to treat him like they loved him as much as we did which made it so much easier on my daughter & our family. They walked us through each step & prepared his body for us to take home to bury.Thank you to each of you there that day that helped ease the pain a little 💙

2022-02-13Staff was VERY VERY NICE & ATTENTIVE.Only issue I had was, I felt i paid ALLOT of money for my animals to be Spayed & Neutered.I was under the impression the process were cheaper there because it WAS the Humane Society. Matter of fact I was referred there because I couldnt afford it at my original Veterinarian...I ended up paying only $3 less...But over all they were very friendly & very loving with ALL OF MY BABIES...I took 9 babies to get fixed...Imagine how much came out my pocketbook... 😆 🤪🤪😊

2022-02-25Paulina was her name. We got her when she was 6 months old. She loved chewing on rocks and playing with balls. She was humble and loving. Nurturing as she became older. We new it was time when she became more and more fragile. With her glossy eyes staring at us, we knew she was in pain. She was our Paulina,Pualinski, PauPau, Pendejita, Peanut Butter. She was 15 years old. Now she can run as far and fast as she can. We were blessed to find the Humane Society in San Bernardino. They were very helpful and kind with all we had to do. My daughter and I were able to go in with her. Our Paulinski went home on 2-22-2022. We will forever miss her.

2022-03-17Make sure you have an appointment but after that the process is convenient and user friendly. I took two young cats in to have their first shots and to be neutered. I stood in line at about 8:15am for a 9:30am appointment and was checked in and left the cats by 9:30am. It was clean, efficient and well organized. I was called to pick them up about 4:00pm. They healed nicely. I am very appreciative of their services.

2022-06-26Great experience with the doctors and front desk staff. Our pup was happy. And the place was very clean. I appreciated the post op instructions and the pre op emails and text reminders.Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the booking experience was really frustrating. I had to call 3 times and leave messages to hear back from someone. Then I had to book 2 months out. They really should have an online system to make this less reliant on people answering and returning calls. Additionally when I arrived, I had to wait for 45 minutes outside in line, hoping I was in the right place where it said dog entrance ... that was very frustrating with a stressed out puppy next to all those other dogs, including a couple aggressive ones I was very concerned for her to be next to. Theres got to be a better way for this appointment system to go.Once I got inside, it was fine and the people were very nice. I just wish there was a sign or a person managing the line.

2022-04-07The front office staff was friendly and attentive. They were a pleasure to deal with. However....I have two downgrades on my opinion of the facility. One, the price was equivalent to having gone to a local vet rather than driving 35 miles to the Humane Society. We distressed our cats with a long car ride for no good reason.Secondly, I have to say that we were appalled by the condition of our male cats incision and sutures. It was the worst Ive seen in almost 60 years of having cats and getting t hem altered. Even if the total price was close to what is stated when you call, I will never bring an animal of mine in here or recommend doing so to anyone I know. Its just not worth it.

2022-06-17Edit - posted review for shelter, not Humane Society. The Humane Society was very fast & efficient. I went down for the 20.00 spay/neuter program currently running. I was in & out in 10 minutes, with an appt in September. The best thing? Getting greetings from all the fur babies in the waiting room. Thank you all so much!!
