The night manager was a shorter Asian gentleman and was absolutely terrible! My little sister is a cancer patient and her and her husband were harassed all night by the manager and then an unauthorized $500 charge was placed on the account due to a complaint which they would not prove and could not because it was absolutely a lie.Terrible service. This manager should be fired.Got our bank to refund the $500 but cannot believe my terminally ill sister was treated this way.
I was at Auburn for Business, been there many times and always loved the stay there. The staff from the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and the restaurants have always been great, friendly, helpful and informative.Breakfast is always Fantastic and such a great deal.I also made time to use the Fitness center (open 24 hrs). It was very clean and well taken care of, loved it and had a great time
I needed a place to stay in Auburn before a class the next day and I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean rooms, updated decor in rooms and common areas, nice amenities including pool, hot tub, and business center. It was also very quiet despite being next to Highway 80. The breakfast was delicious and comprehensive for a relatively small fee. Maxs restaurant was lovely and my server, Jeff, was the best!
Hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. They charge for breakfast but you get a discount if you tell them the night before that you are eating breakfast. Its all you can eat and worth the $6.99. The entire staff from General Manager down to housekeeping were incredibly nice! We were there assisting the Tahoe National Forest and the hotel allowed us to use the conference room to meet at instead of meeting in one of our rooms. The hotel is right off of the highway and close to a variety of restaurants. Will definitely go back weather for business or vacation.
Ive stayed here multiple times and have always enjoyed it. The staff is always professional and friendly.I feel very safe and secure staying here. Thats a huge plus for me! Having a restaurant onsite is a bonus. The pool and spa area is very nice and well maintained. This is my home away from home!! My dog feels the same!
We were there for a wedding. Had a rehearsal dessert by the pool. Staff was accommodating. We had a blast. Rooms were spacious. Maxs was great. Didnt have the breakfast but heard it was great, especially if you pre ordered. Great value on breakfast buffet. Super helpful staff. Answered all questions and went above and beyond to help with any issue we had. Would stay here again!!!
We were in town for a wedding, staying 2 nights. Our room was ready at 3:00, and Covid precautions were in place. Staff was friendly, room was clean. The breakfast buffet, for $6.99, was wonderful! Made to order omelets, bacon, sausage, fresh biscuits, watermelon, juices, tea and coffee. Wonderful service, great food, and what a bargain price!! Bed was comfortable and the hotel was not noisy.
Decent, quiet, and safe. I came to the Holiday Inn after a terrible experience at the Red Lion hotel down the street. Anything next to that place is a palace. The staff at the Holiday Inn were nice and I was able to book and be there in 10 minutes to check-in. I didnt try the restaurant personally, but my friend went for an evening drink and salad. She said it was great and not terribly expensive. The only downside was no USB ports. First world problems, but I love when hotels have those.
The hotel was clean and mask requirements made us feel safe even though we are vaccinated. No one in town wore masks. The check-in was rather slow, but the overall experience was good. They respond to needs for extra towels, cots, etc. without issue. Recommended for a short stay.
The room was comfortable. The $6 breakfast was a great idea. Where else can you get an omelette made to order for $6?! Check in was pretty quick. Check out was extremely quick. The ice machine on our floor was out of order but it was a quick elevator ride to the next floor for ice.
Great Hotel to stay at in Auburn. Staff is very hospitable and goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service.Matt made a difference in my stay by having a great attitude during check in and being able to provide a solution when my room was not ready when I first arrived.House keep staff is very friendly!
With the exception of very noisy neighbors the 1st night, and the hot water taking about 5 minutes to make it to the 3rd floor, this stay was pretty good. The room is large and comfortable. The bedding is very nice. Things are getting a bit worn and dated, I would expect better for the price paid, but not horribly out of line.
This is a FANTASTIC business! The staff were AMAZING, they were friendly and personable. The rooms were up to date and clean with great(working) amenities. The fitness center had some of the newest, nicest equipment Ive had the pleasure to use, including headphones(new in the package) to use with the equipment. All in all, would recommend to anyone for both short and extended plans to stay, great place.
Our check in process was quick and easy. All the staff were informative and very friendly. The facility was very clean and we felt comfortable moving about the lobby with everyone wearing masks. We spent most of our time by the pool and it was quite enjoyable. Other guests were mindful of social distancing and the entire pool area was clean. We had dinner two nights at the restaurant Maxs next door and they could not have been more friendly or accommodating. The staff at Maxs really went out of their way to welcome us and the location is so convenient, we just walk straight to it. Our visit to this location was flawless.
My wife, daughter, and I have stayed at the Auburn Holiday Inn maybe 100 times in the past 20 years. We are gold prospectors who spend he day getting dirty, and then we show up at the front desk, in a mess. The staff, unfailingly (especially Scott) always ask how we did, welcomes us, and do it all very professionally. We just stayed there again, after going to Auburn to see a high school baseball game. same deal. They offer a wonderful , reasonably priced, breakfast, a break on drinks at Maxs bar (Maxs restaurant is another great in-house benefit, by the way, especially for those of us who dont like to drink and drive). Well be back at least another 50 times! You cannot go wrong at the Auburn Holiday Inn!And, If you like In n Out, theyre an easy walk, right next door!
Positives: The breakfast was cooked to order and was outstanding! The chef and attendants behind the breakfast counter were very nice and willing!! The front desk was very helpful. Plenty of good coffee. The room was very CLEAN. I liked that this hotel is dog friendly, even though we didnt bring our dog. Its fun to enjoy other peoples dogs!Negatives: I didnt like being hounded about putting on a mask! I didnt like that we werent allowed to change the channel on the TV in the lobby. Forced to watch CNN. (the Communist News Network) Also, there were cigarette butts at the exit doors, the pool area in the bushes and all around the parking lot.
We were given a non smoking room but the room and all the towels smelled like smoke. The ac kept turning off and we’d wake up in the middle of the night sweating. There’s also no curtains in the room that block out sunlight so when the sun is up, you’ll be up. Do not recommend staying here, especially for the price you have to pay.
When I first got there scott helped me and he was great funny guy made me smile. I stayed for 2 days and not 1 day did I get house keeping to clean the room. There were people being loud and running in the halls, someone mistakes my room for theres and was messing with my door then another person was loud trying to get into there own room took them at least 5 mins to get into there own room. The people that were on the top floor from me were jumping or something because they were loud. Wish you had security or something. then when leaving I had Nate help me he was great but an older lady who worked there was really rude to him for no reason. She just had this attitude.
Its tempting to keep this hotel a secret as we need to travel to Auburn frequently, but the staff and management are just so good they deserve , and have earned all 5 stars. I travel a lot and with COVID have often found that services have shrunk, but not here. It is a very clean, efficient hotel and super comfortable as far as the beds etc. Amenities and parking all very good, and clean. The stand out feature is that the staff are not only friendly (which is easy to emulate in this industry) but they are genuinely happy to serve you. Rare these days. I would call out the breakfast staff in particular, great team and great stay. My only suggestion to the management, would be to find a way to answer the phone, from either outside callers, or within, it is very very long and , from the outside, I m sure you have many dropped calls. Its your only deficiency but your staff have saved your stars here!
This is an excellent Holiday Inn. Very happy with how they are handling Covid during our stay. They had a really good breakfast option available. While the coffee in the room is too weak for my preference, they offer stronger coffee complimentary in the lobby. The staff was fantastic!
In town to attend a memorial service. We have stayed here before over the years and had a great experience, so we thought wed try it again. Nothing has changed, great staff, great stay, great location. Only negative is the location of the elevator. Could be remedied by parking in the back of the building, but we prefer to park up front. Not a reason to stay elsewhere. In Auburn or nearby, this is the place to stay.
The hotel is located conveniently close to the freeway and downtown Auburn where we enjoyed great food, beverages, and live music. The hotel was very clean, the staff was very nice and the stay was fairly priced. The only problem was we could hear the upstairs neighbors every time they moved in bed and walked across the floor. I would stay here again and would recommend to others.
This place is very clean and well cared for. Its a nice hotel. The breakfast was a real omelet and it was bomb! I reccomend you stay here, also it appeared to be pet friendly which I love that its well cared and allows pets. The concierge service was very nice too! We walked to crooked lane brewery up the road and also enjoyed our selves over all. Nice little getaway!
Auburn is my hometown, whenever I visit I stay at Holiday Inn, Auburn. It has everything I need for an enjoyable stay. The restaurant, bar and pool are nice, and everything is well maintained. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking also. When in Auburn, I will always stay there.
Very good overall experience. I will definitely stay here again. The staff was very friendly and considerate even though my stay was over the Christmas Holiday. Employees really seemed to enjoy helping customers. My room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet within the hotel is a good value, and there is a very good restaurant, “Max’s,” connected to the hotel. Hotel location is convenient to I-80. That’s both good and bad, as I could hear some truck horns from my room. I couldn’t hear normal highway traffic noises though, so not bad.
The front desk staff were very friendly, remembered our names, were very helpful and welcoming. Our room was quite comfortable, though the bed sloped slightly toward the middle. The breakfast was wonderful, cooked to order, a great value at $6.99! We would definitely book at this hotel again!
I never rate anything at 100%. The hotel, the staff and the restaurant all exceeded my expectations. Other guests at the pool were also relaxed and friendly. Great experience at a time when we were very stressed and needed a dose of human kindness. I highly recommended this hotel.
I have stayed here a few times. I love I can walk to in/out burgers and Dutch brother’s coffee and local shopping area. The hotel is clean, the room is clean, and the staff is helpful and friendly. We did have a slight problem with our room heater, they fixed it immediately. You are near enough to 49 so there is some traffic noise but it seems more like white noise. Max’s Tuscan chicken is excellent and the bartender makes the best cocktails. They have a delicious breakfast buffet, it is extra but well worth it. Omelets and eggs to order, French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and cereal. My family love this place. I like it because it is close to 49 and 80. Helps us when we visit family and friends.
Checkin was so easy. Lobby was inviting. Particularly enjoyed the large table with the high stools. Easy access to restroom on main floor. The room had two queen beds and they were very comfortable. By the time we left, my back was not hurting anymore as we had driven for a long time (2 days) and previous hotels mattress just didnt meet the standard. Bathroom was very clean and housekeeping kept the rooms tidy for our entire stay. Another plus was the fact that the a/c system wasnt very loud; something that is the bane of many hotel rooms. Checkout was easy.
This hotel had the best room and service ever. The bed was very comfortable. There were reading lights above the bed. The room was so quiet. I did not hear the neighbors doors slam shut. They had a sleep kit in a beautiful little bag. This bag had a delicious chamomile / lavender tea. I had a wonderful experience. I wish all the hotels had such good service.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Auburn as a part of a river rafting weekend getaway, during the coronavirus pandemic. The staff was professional, very helpful and friendly. They answered our questions and were very welcoming. The rooms were clean, and stocked, and when we needed more towels, our request was quickly filled. The pool and outdoor seating was nice, and the onsite restaurant provided many breakfast and dinner options. I would recommend this hotel.
Super-conveniently located directly off I-80, the hotel was nevertheless very quiet and was very close to shopping, Starbucks, etc. The rooms were well outfitted (microwave, fridge, Keurig, large-screen TV) and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful, very COVID-aware. Best of all for me was the on-side Electric Vehicle (EV) charging!
The hotel staff were very nice and very accommodating. We were attending a music festival and could not check in until after the concert, the staff was courteous and accommodating to our situation and even upgraded our room. They even came to fix our cable connections, that were disconnected due to the recent blackouts. The room was clean and the hotel was quiet despite being booked for a couple weddings that weekend. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again.
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. We had a fridge in our room that was a little loud but not a deal breaker and I didn’t complain. We came in around 9pm and there was no hot food anywhere which wasn’t great since we were tired but staff told us where to go if we wanted to. I’ll definitely come back, it was a perfect location to head up and ski the next day.
My wife and I stayed here on our way to Lake Tahoe. We were very pleased with our stay here. It was exceptionally clean, the bedding was crisp and fresh. ( a nice feeling in this day of Covid-19). The room decor in our room was modern and looked new. There was adequate and close parking right outside our room. The facilities and grounds are very well kept. This area seemed safer, quieter and 10 degrees cooler than anywhere we could have stayed in Sacramento. This is an excellent place to stay. We highly recommend it.
Having moved from the area just two months ago we were dreading the need to go back to finish business during this crazy time in our country. We were expecting to be so uncomfortable and uneasy with confidence we were in a Safe environment. That was quickly diffused when we arrived at this location.Room was very clean and it was evident all details were addressed. While business took us into town (during our 3 day stay) we were anxious to return to our comfortable environment for dinner at Maxs and relaxation of our room. Thank you for providing a place to feel safe while traveling!
My mom and my sisters drove from San Diego to visit me (I live here in Auburn). The front desk staff was very helpful and wearing their face mask. Everyone we encountered always had a mask and was very polite. The service was definitely wonderful. My mom and my sisters really enjoyed their stay. However, there was one little/huge issue. When they were heading out my sister had called to see if they could have the sheets changed and the bathrooms cleaned. When we got back, my mom and I noticed that the restroom was full of hair, as if they had just wet a rag and wiped the whole bathroom without rinsing it, the bathroom also didn’t have a clean smell, it smelled like wet rag. I told my mom to call the front desk but she didn’t want to make a big deal of it so we both ended up cleaning it to our liking. Since they bought cleaning wipes and cleaned after themselves they didn’t really check how housekeeping cleaned the next day. We were having such a fun time that we didn’t really want to be calling about a bathroom not being thoroughly cleaned. Like I mentioned before, staff was very pleasant, I just didn’t like the fact that my family coming all the way over here, had to worry about the cleanliness of their bathroom. With this whole COVID-19 situation you would think that housekeeping would be on top of the cleaning, especially the bathroom. Anyway, I didn’t submit anything because we were over it. Plus everything else was truly wonderful. Now that I’m seeing all these new cases or COVID I wanted to make sure you knew for your future guests. Maybe have someone double check the cleaned rooms or something.
We had a great experience at this hotel from minute one. We were greeted with warmth and professionalism, and everything we needed was taken care of on our stay. The hotel was spotless in all areas and felt completely safe with regard to masks and surfaces, all employees following every proper protocol. I would stay here again without question.
We stayed two nights over Independence Day weekend, exploring the nearby Gold Country. As Platinum elites, we requested and were granted an upgrade to a King Executive room with theater-style chairs facing the TV, a spacious two-sink bathroom, and a nice view of the domed County Courthouse. The refrigerator and microwave came in handy.Front desk staff were very courteous throughout the stay. We were able to charge restaurant expenses at Maxs to the room, including advance-paid discount breakfast certificates covering made-to-order omelettes. Maxs has a number of outdoor tables that are important during the current pandemic. Theres also an In-and-Out Burger next door. The hotel is close enough to the historic downtown that you can walk there under the freeway. Well worth a few hours poking around Old Town! Great stay, many thanks to the staff.
Spent one night with an adjoining room with my elderly father. Staff was very helpful assigning our rooms. The rooms were large and the king beds very comfortable. The restaurant was great for dinner! In hindsight I would eat at the restaurant for breakfast and not do the buffet. I have lots of food sensitivities and the selection especially for non dairy was non existent. No fresh berries or oatmeal. The rooms/hotel seemed quiet after about 9 p.m. I did have a rattle in my room when the air conditioner came on that I was able to solve just by keeping a cupboard door open.Bathrooms were large and in good shape. The swimming pool area looked nice and inviting! I would stay here again.
Thanks so much for a great night stay.We got in late and the MOD greeted us with kindness and was helpful. Even on Thanksgiving evening!Room was clean, newly updated and perfect for a great night’s sleep on our way to our final destination. I would stay here again if I needed a stop over and the breakfast was really inexpensive, but I would prefer to have more organic, speciality options and happily pay more for these quality items.Nice clean, friendly place. Enjoy your stay if you find yourself in the area.
Tyler, who tended the wee hour morning desk was such a relief for someone who lives here in Auburn and lost a house key so had to stay somewhere else. So glad I chose Holiday Inn in Auburn. Clean, comfortable, friendly and I felt safe for a 67 yr old single woman locked out of house at 2:00 AM. Not partying, just too long a visit with sister in Cameron Park.
We arrived to a very welcoming and friendly staff member, Jose. As we checked in relatively late (9:45) we were ready to get to the room to relax and get some sleep. Unfortunately, the sleep didn’t happen very well because the mattress was old and we could feel the springs. I have not ever had such a bad night’s rest at a Holiday Inn before. Install new mattresses and this place would get a 4.5 rating at least.
The check in process was quick and easy and the front desk employees gave me directions to my room. He asked if i had a preference on which floor and which would be more comfortable for my stay. When I got to the elevator there was a member of the cleaning staff waiting with her cleaning cart to go to another floor. She stepped aside and told me I could go ahead. I offered to let her share the elevator and she politely declined in order to maintain social distancing.
One of the nicest Holiday Inns Ive ever stayed in. Beautiful decor, fantastic pool/patio/hot tub/fire pit area. One issue, front desk clerk did not recognize Spire status, no mention, rude and said no when I asked if I could get a room upgrade. Her welcome dialog was monotone and fast, clearly she just wanted to be done with it. Went down later to ask about the discount for breakfast mentioned in the room (fantastic deal BTW) and different front desk agent was the exact opposite. Warm and friendly, happy to upgrade my room, that was Nora. Ditto for Matt who checked us out, a star, super nice. Those two are the reason I changed my rating to 5*.
My wife and I needed to get out of town for a day/ night from Reno, NV. We are a member of IGH and love our Holiday Inn stays. We enjoyed sitting by the pool and playing a board game and a drink. People were safe and very nice, kids well behaved. Dinner was excellent at Maxs and the breakfast is the best with homemade omelets made to your ingredients you love. All of the staff at the desk were very nice and helpful to answer any questions.
Great hotel and staff. Highly recommend it. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean and updated. We were on the first floor and our room looked out to the patio and it was quiet. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. We had a offer for the $5 buffet breakfast that was GREAT. Wish we could have stayed another night and enjoyed all the amenities more. Lots of great shops nearby as well as restaurants and bars, if you like.
Nice looking room, very friendly staff. Bed was super firm and uncomfortable, however, and with it being a first floor room the guests above us were extremely noisy. In addition, the included breakfast left much to be desired. Understandable though, given everything going on.
We REALLY enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although the beds were a bit too firm for my liking, the pillows were nice and fluffy and the room in general was very comfortable (refrigerator and microwave standard in every room!). We spent most of our time at the big outdoor pool and hot tub area, which also had table tennis for your enjoyment. We were able to have a pool ball and play music (at a reasonable volume) without any complaints. The on-site restaurant, Max’s, served delicious food and drinks and the breakfast buffet offered a nice selection of food; including an omelet station! We will definitely be staying here again!
Nice property. Very close to fast food. Clean rooms with very nice bathrooms. A bit on the higher end in price. Stayed at this specific property with a wedding party or we may have stayed somewhere less expensive. Room temperature could only be adjusted a few degrees. No extra blankets in the room. Had a private party for wedding guests in the bar after hours. Drinks were great. Staff very friendly. Check out very easy!!
My husband and I and our grandchildren had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn in Auburn. The staff was extremely friendly and greeted us each time we came into the lobby. The facility was very clean and beautifully decorated. We received coupons for the Maxs restaurant right next door and everyone there was extremely friendly and accommodating as well. We could not have asked for a nicer stay.
My room mate and I share a room when we attend our three organizational meetings each year. The beds were so comfortable! The room was quiet and it helped us to de-stress after the meetings.I availed myself to the business center and it was a great help for me to be able to prepare my reports. The parking was easy and not a hassle. We loved the food your kitchen put out! Thank you for a great stay!
Arrived at 5 am after working a 22 hr day. The front desk staff was very accommodating. The room looked great and the bed was comfy. Got woken up at 8am by what sounded like a heard of cattle running back and forth in the room above me. Our stay went really bad when we showered. Found one black hair in the tub and two stuck to the wall and then to top it off the water was lukewarm and the tub would not drain. So I was standing in several inches of gross water. The front desk person did give us a small break on our bill, which was all he could do and I didnt have time to wait. While I was checking out there was a guest’s dog running through the lobby barking while hotel staff chased it. The dog chased a child down the hallway while the child was crying and a hotel guest was yelling at the staff to do something about the dog. It was a lot of chaos! I dont think I would choose to stay at this hotel again.
I was very impressed. During the height of the covid-19 emergency, this hotel was very clean and the staff seemed to take the precautions very seriously. The room was comfortable. Air conditioner was loud, but it was effective. Nice swimming pool and hot tub. This hotel gets a rare 5 star review.
This is a great hotel to stay at in Auburn, and we will likely always choose this hotel when coming to the area. The location, amenities, and service have been great! The major draw back is the bed is very firm. We were able to sleep okay, but I had to create contour by sleeping on my back with a pillow under my knees. Side sleeping was very uncomfortable. The pillows were good though. The hotel has an interesting layout where the only elevator is located near the back of the hotel away from the lobby. A set of stairs are available near the lobby, but only for the second floor. So if you need to use the elevator to get to your room, you may have to walk a little ways.
We traveled all the way across country and this was our last stay. Very clean hotel and we felt very comfortable staying here. After checking all the marks while doing this review, I do wish they would have let us know this hotel was a safe place for people to stay if they needed to quarantine. While we did wear masks and I used alcohol and Lysol before we touched and entered the room, this may have been a concern knowing this ahead of time.
I stayed here recently for a big family reunion trip. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I loved how modern the lobby was. The coffee and water was a nice touch to see everyday. The pool was clean and big. The Jacuzzi was so hot and relaxing. I will stay here again. I had a great overall experience. Loved the free parking!
One of the beds was not very comfortable, and there was a stain on the carpet, and the fabric corner of one of the bed supports was torn. We had a small dog and even though I requested a room other than ground floor, we were put in a ground floor room right by the door, so our dog, not used to being around people and places, barked every time someone went in and out and when workers were in the small lobby by the door. We couldnt get the TV remote to work other than on/off, so were brought new batteries, which didnt help. We found on our own that there is a DirectTV box on the back of the TV that has to be turned on. Channel selection was poor if you want network shows. Room size is good, bathroom nicely laid out. We opted for a green stay which meant no daily fresh towels and sheets, and trash removal only by request. This was mostly ok, but with 3 people and 6 days, things got pretty messy, and there was only one towel hook in the bathroom and no dish soap to wash cups and glasses. Im thinking there could be a small bottle offered at check-in for green stays. Because of Covid-19, we ate in the room several times and would have preferred a table and chairs instead of a desk, desk chair and easy chair. Restaurant had opened back up, and the food and service were excellent. They did a good job of keeping people apart. We could eat out for less money, so only ate at the restaurant a few times. Pool was closed, ok for the circumstances. A morning bagged breakfast was available, but I have allergies to oranges and bananas, and those were the fruits in the bags. Coffee in the room was good, and we could get more pods at the front desk whenever we wanted them. I would stay here again, but would not opt for a green stay if there for more than a couple of days.
This hotel was very clean, close to freeway access and conviently close to shops and any events. Our upstairs room had a nice view of the pool area which included well manicured and pretty landscaping. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and delicious food. The breakfast made to order omelets was excellent with great cooks and service. The elevator wasnt working at one point but as soon as front desk was told, they reset it. I felt they needed better signage pointing the way to stairs and elevator. We got turned around a few times. But over all, it was a great stay and will stay there again next year during rodeo time.
The hotel was safe and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfy to get a good nights rest. The rooms are big and clean with a good size TV. There is an in-room mini fridge, and if you call the front desk they will send up a microwave! Which is great if you go out and bring back leftovers. The staff is very friendly. I will be back to this Holiday Inn.
Wow!!! Amazing service, super clean, calm environment despite the place being fully booked. Was able to order excellent salmon dinner with sauteed vegetables from Maxs restaurant delivered to my room. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Very pleasant surprise. Great area, nice views. Safe.
We had to bring our dog on this trip (we never do). She is 5 and not used to traveling. The hotel is illuminated - a great sidewalk all around the building. I felt VERY comfortable walking the dog the first night at midnight and the second night at 3 a.m. Two dedicated lawn areas with doggie bag dispensers and trash cans. ALL garbage cans around the facility were emptied and taken care of. ALSO - Excellent restaurant (Maxs)- with great food - and wonderful room service!
I traveled to Auburn for a wedding and my stay here was great! TJ, the wedding coordinator, handled my booking and check-in and she was fantastic! Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, she truly made me feel welcome. The proximity to historic downtown was fun and convenient. The room was aesthetically pleasing and offered everything you could need for a weekend stay. I didnt have time to use the pool, fitness center, or business areas but those in my party who did said that all was good. My only issue was that the internet service wasnt very fast. However, I wasnt in town to surf the web but to enjoy time with my friends. The hotel and staff did an outstanding job in making our time there great!
Except for key cards not working right and arriving when there were no luggage carts available, this was one of my nicest hotel experiences (of quite a few!). The furnishings were nice, the internet was easy to access and reliable, the office setup and room amenities were superb, and the staff went above and beyond at every turn!! I would love to return here again! Even registering for a room was easy, and the confirmation information was excellent.
We are so grateful to the kind and flexible staff at Holiday Inn Auburn Grass Valley with a big shout out to Matt and Gigi who went above and beyond. I mistakenly booked our hotel stay a week ago and showed up a week late over busy July 04th weekend and they went ahead and credited me for my mistake (not theirs). On top of this Matt went ahead and comped our family breakfast - small touches like this made our stay really memorable after being inside for last three plus months. We will definitely book here again for next rafting trip on the American. Cleanliness, big pool and staff made this a wonderful stay! Much gratitude.
Dont listen to the guy who commented above this hotel is average at most. Im not sure how they got a 3 star hotel title. Im pretty sure it had to do with the restaurant in the hotel, but its closed now due to covid. This is a 2 star hotel thats outdated, and a little run down from inside. They add a bunch of furniture to make it look fancy but its far from it. I will give the location a 5 stars since its right off the freeway and next to an in and out burger place. Thats about It though. The breakfast isnt great, the room doors dont secure properly, and again the restaurant in the hotel is closed. Just dont believe the 5 star ratings people are giving it they are over exaggerating. Its a good 2 star hotel where you can stop by after a long drive and get some sleep, but thats all their is to it.
This hotel has the best attached restaurant in Maxs cafe. Id come here even if I werent staying at the hotel, just to have the great food. The staff at the hotel was so helpful. I got a room close to the front as requested and check in and out was easy. The room was perfect, and the bed was fine. The bathroom had good water pressure and the shower work fine the whole time. Plenty of hot water. The lighting in the bathroom though is not the best color for putting on make up, but its OK. The toilet flushed well and no problems, although having the toilet paper mounted on the wall next to the tank is not such a good spot. The wi fi was super strong and fast, we watched Netflix on the laptop and even hooked that to the big TV!One thing, I just wish coffee was available in the lobby more hours of the day, the little coffee maker in the room is not the best coffee around.Overall I liked this hotel and would stay again. You just have to try the Patty Melt at the restaurant! The best I have ever had!
The staff was very friendly and courteous. The hotel was completely booked, however, they tried to accommodate my family and me the best they could. There were 4 weddings that weekend. The staff was able to check us in 30 min early and get us 2 queen beds, which we preferred. At the end of our stay, the checkout process was easy and painless. As an IHG member, I can honestly say, this was one of he best, if not the best Holiday Inn experiences I’ve ever had.
Our stay at Holiday Inn Auburn was great. The breakfast was outstanding. Not your typical motel breakfast. The omelets were cooked to order and the fresh fruit was beautiful. Do yourself a favor and add the breakfast when booking to save money. The layout of the hotel is a bit strange and spread out. If you have trouble getting around, I would mention it to the staff when booking. Not an issue for us but worth mentioning. We enjoyed the hot tub as well and will definitely return to this hotel.
Average nothing special hotel. You have to pay for your breakfast and stand in line since the buffet is closed - 1 cook. The room is only allowed to stock 1 decaf and 1 regular coffee pod which seems super stingy to me. It does have a pool which was nice since it was so hot - the hot tub was closed. The on premise restaurant is only for the evening and very very limited menu - guess its better than nothing.I probably wont stay there again until I try the other hotels in the area.
What a lovely place. Nice mixture of new and old furnishings and touches. Extremely helpful and efficient staff. I had to come to California on short notice twice within a 10 day period and I was a little discombobulated especially the second trip. The front desk staff especially Tyler and Rebecca were extremely helpful and Tyler lent me a phone jack until I got a replacement. The resturant, Max’s was great and so was the staff. Best matzoh ball soup outside of New York City.
We spent the weekend at the Auburn Holiday Inn for a family wedding. I had a suite and it was very nicely furnished and very clean. It was comfortable for sleeping, quiet with comfy mattress and pillows. The temperature was able to be well controlled with separate controls for bedroom and living room. The lighting around the mirror was great, especially for getting ready for a special occasion. Would definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was polite and eager to please. The room was too cold upon arrival but we were able to adjust the temperature. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant staff was excellent and the food not notch. Had a little fun with the waiter, who made our meal a fun experience. Will definitely be back!
Overall, a spacious and comfortable hotel. A few nitpiks:1. Google Maps took us to the back entrance; it was a little confusing finding the main entrance. A little signage would help.2. Not all of the housekeeping staff had their masks on. For those (like me) in vulnerable groups, this is an issue.3. While the bed was fine, it wasnt quite as comfortable as other beds Ive had in Holiday Inn-family hotels.
Hotel was a quality little place for the price paid. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and very well kept up. The only downside is the rooms right about the open air lobby have an issue with noise. I wasn’t bothered by it but noticed it. Breakfast was good and convenient, but I wish it was included in the room rate. Overall this hotel is quality for the price you pay.
The hotel, the food, the staff were all excellent. We asked for a different room because we felt ours was to close to the exit. They switched rooms immediately. No hassle, no stress. We asked for extra pillows. They were brought to the room immediately. The towels and bedding smelt fresh and clean. My wife asked one of the cleaning staff for an extra towel. It was provided with a smile. When I return to Auburn that is definitely where I will stay. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast. A cooked to order omelet, waffles and plenty of fresh fruit. We also really liked the orange juice. Tasted fresh squeezed. Great place, great people and great food. :)
I just had to write a review regarding this Holiday Inn in the town of Auburn. The staff was excellent and went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. The restaurant, Maxs was excellent and had a wonderful menu with many selections. It was so nice, after a four hour drive, to just stay at the Hotel and have all of your needs met!Even though this was a business trip, I plan to return for leisure because I loved this location so much. MANY THANKS TO ALL FOR MAKING MY SHORT STAY SO PLEASANT!
Forrest room help could not get tv to work so they said they were booked and after I insisted on the minimum of the tv to work they moved me to another room. This location had issues with the gap under the door providing plenty of light into the room. Second was the squeaking and noise the other clients are able to produce from being an old property With no sound board between the rooms to squeaky floors , nails not holding in floors it was a poor nights stay every night. I did have high hopes but that changed after the tv would not work.
Wonderful large pillows and large room allowed for relaxation from the start. Very clean and modern.Great hot tub. The pool is cold in the fall.Friendly staff and helpful staff who worked hard to make sure all was well. The $7 breakfast with a made to order omelet was worth it.
This place is even better than the high standard usually found at Holiday Inn. As soon as I entered the lobby, John, at the front desk, greeted me by name. He knew someone was checking in with two rooms and remembered my name from the reservation. Everything was clean and well staffed. The breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and professional. The food was very good. They have a very nice lobby area on the second floor, with a good view to the outside.
At departure, the desk clerk gave us detailed and accurate directions to one of the areas highlights: mandarins!Room was immaculate, thanks to the housekeeping staff. And the restaurant staff was very helpful - I highly recommend Maxs. We ended up eating there twice - so nice being able to walk back to our room afterwards - no need for a designated driver.
Great, clean hotel with a GREAT, FRIENDLY staff. Rooms are very clean and beds comfortable. Only outlets on one side of bathroom counter with 2 sinks, I needed my own but made due. Very warm, cozy room. Nice having a restaurant/bar there just too bad we waiting 7-9 mins with no service due to being too busy, not staff fault. I will for sure stay there next year when we are in Auburn.
Check in was quick and easy! The staff was friendly and professional. The bedrooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. Nicely updated decor. Refrigerator in room. The hotel was just steps away from an In and Out Burger which was great for a late night snack. Easy access to the freeway. Considering our decision to stay here was last minute, the price was reasonable. I would stay here again.
We were very pleased with our recent stay. We had 2 room/ 2 beds each. The lobby was bright, clean modern. Nice business center, pool, spa and workout room. Breakfast was great. We didn’t use the pool but enjoyed the spa. I would recommend this hotel. They are pet friendly also.
We stayed for two nights in July, and thought the hotel was easy to get to off the freeway, and in a good location. Room was spacious enough for two adults, two children. Kids loved the pool. The air was fine in the room, but all of the hallways were extremely hot, which made me feel bad for the employees. Breakfast was $5.00 for adults and free for children. Good selection, and even an omelette bar. Overall, a great stay!
My family had frequenting this Holiday Inn for two decades. With numerous weddings, family reunions, etc... The hotel had always been able to accommodate our needs and have done so with exceptional service and care. The rooms are nice, nothing over the top, but they are clean and look cared for. Maxxs restaurant and bar is great for breakfast and a beer. The on-sight social amenities are will suited for families and solo, alike. The pool is well taken care of, the patios are clean and......Inn & Out burger is so close to this hotel, you could almost order it for room service. What a great location.
I travel a lot for business. I’ve been switching from competitor hotel properties to IHG properties as IHG hotel staff appreciates customers more than the competition these days and the upgraded properties at IHG are usually now better than the competitor properties.
Everything about our stay was rewarding. The room was neat and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The pillows were noted as soft or hard (nice touch). Nora at the front desk was very pleasant, accommodating and provided a very good first impression to Holiday Inn Express!
Had no idea what to expect when I reserved this room for the night, but it was recommended by a friend. Everything from the friendly reception in the beautiful newly renovated lobby to my roomy executive suite through departure was exceptional. Just off Highway 80, it was incredibly quiet. The black-out drapes actually close completely, they offer a choice of pillows and the bed was super comfy! High quality amenities included a Keurig coffee maker, new TV which did not require a manual to figure out, and a new fridge. Excellent lighting, WiFi, high quality towels. I am sensitive to smells, including cleansers and room deodorizers and I detected no scents at all except the perfume in the elevator remaining from the rider before me. Everything was clean and shiny. If you are planning a trip from the SF Bay Area to Tahoe or plan to spent a few days in the beautiful Auburn area, I highly recommend you stay here. Not cheap but worth every penny! Excellent Value!
We were so lucky to get an early check-in and pleasantly surprised with a very spacious newly decorated room. The location is great and made getting around easy. Enjoyed dinning at Maxs for a great dinner and breakfast. We were here for a wedding and we were able to relax making our trip very enjoyable. Our room was very comfortable. Our only complaint was the toilet somewhat outdated and way too low!! I would highly recommend staying here and wish all hotels were this nice
We came to the area because of the Easter holiday and we visited family. We were not actually at the hotel that long and did not take in any of the facilities. But it was and great hotel and I will recommend it to everyone I know who is going to that area. It is an excellent hotel. Although I almost forgot, when we arrived we did go to Maxs Cafe in the hotel and that was EXCELLENT! So excited that you have such a top quality restaurant and bar! That was the ultimate because that is a fantastic restaurant we are very familiar with! KUDOS!
The moment we checked in, we were greeted by friendly hotel staff. They were so cheery and helpful. The hotel and grounds are extremely well kept. The hotel room was spotless. We highly recommend anyone coming to this area and needing a place to stay, to definitely check in to this hotel. You will not be disappointed. This hotel is awesome and the staff make it that way.
I used the Holiday Inn to host my wedding guests-we got married in Newcastle and a lot of people traveled from the Bay Area. From start to finish the staff here accommodated me and my guests-they stored flowers, delivered them to my room, passed out welcome bags and put people close to one another. Rooms were clean. Our only negative is that we wished the mattresses were softer. We ate at Max’s one night and loved our meal and the wine. In sum, great hotel and great staff-would stay here again.
Great view of the pretty courtyard. Hot tub was outdoors but nice and warm and the pool, I believe, was salt water which was nice too. Ice machines were all out of service but the staff were quick to bring ice upon request. The food from Maxs was absolutely delicious and service was quick. Fitness room was cool and clean and smelt fine and had plenty of cool water which is always appreciated. Very easy to find and a surprisingly quiet location (at least for the courtyard side rooms). Enjoyed the stay.
I was impressed with how clean the whole hotel was, from the lobby, down the hallways, the gym, to my room. The customer service was excellent, informing me of all the amenities, where they were located, what time breakfast is served, even letting me know that the there was a conference taking place for another hour and as they wrap up their meeting, I might hear loud music for a very brief time. It wouldnt last long and to please let them know if I needed anything. I was very impressed that they cared enough to inform new arriving quests, especially when it was still very early in the evening. Thank you!
We found the hotel to be a comfortable place to stay. The beds/pillows were comfortable. Although we werent in the room much, the channel selection on the TV was expansive, and we were able to relax in the evening, watching a movie on HBO. We felt safe in the room. The breakfast was delicious, with many options and a good value. All staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. The cost of the room was reasonable as we were able to book six days in advance. Wed stay again if we had reason to be in the area.
This hotel is very modern, very clean, has a great restaurant and bar open till 9 PM most nights. The staff are awesome. My family got stuck with a broken down car and found ourselves two rooms here on a Sunday right before Christmas so we could rent a car Monday morning and complete our trip to Tahoe for the holiday. The staff and facilities here are top notch. I travel a lot on business normally and this one really impressed me. I highly recommend this hotel if you should find yourself in Auburn, CA.
We stayed here for a marriage retreat. We only stayed one night. The staff was amazing and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, though the beds were a little too hard to sleep really well. The pool was clean and well taken care of. The breakfast was amazing and staff friendly there. We did not do dinner but know someone who did and said it was amazing. The conference rooms are very comfortable and staff helped tons with chairs. Overall our stay was amazing. Would definitely recommend.
Was traveling alone with two small children. Check in and out was very easy. The food was very tasty in the restaurant, but enormous - more than what I expected even when the server said the portion was large. I ended up wasting most of mine, since I didnt order something take-out easy. The pool/Jacuzzi were great. Buffet breakfast was also good, but very crowded. They were very accommodating when I realized I forgot to bring the breakfast voucher.Would stay there more nights if it wasnt because we were passing through!
On arrival the staff was ready for us and our dog we travel with. Check in was smooth. Parking was very convenient to our room. The suite we reserved was beautiful and felt new. Bed was comfortable. Lots of pillow choices to choose from for our comfort. The pet area was right out our door with everything we needed for her at our fingertips. The last night we had room service from the in house restaurant called Max’s. Great menu choice and kind delivery to our room! This Holiday Inn is on our go-to return list for sure!
Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the Keurig-type coffeemaker was a plus. Because the hotel is located on a hill, there was a direct entrance from the parking lot to the second floor, which was very convenient. The only amenity that is not provided is a free breakfast buffet, but there is a restaurant on the premises.
Auburn was a really fun, quaint town. The Holiday Inn staff printed out maps on how get to the old town area and told us about a wine tasting event occurring there, They were friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. We felt like we were the only guests there! Upon check-in, we were surprised by a free upgrade to a deluxe king, which was the most comfortable Holiday Inn room we have stayed in yet. We also had complimentary drinks at the restaurant on-site. The kerig-style in-room coffee was wonderful. The bed was so comfortable that it felt like a home away from home. We had the best nights sleep in a long time. Thank you!!
We came to rest and it was accomplished. Staff was friendly, property clean and neat. No freezer compartment in refrigerator but staff put our blue ice i their freezer. Breakfast buffet was average, selection ok. We didnt bring our pets but it was nice to know this property was pet friendly. Well know next time. Good stay!
The service desk people were inconsistent. One was excellent, one was kind of rude. The others were efficient enough. The over all appearance of room was clean and nice, Comfy beds etc. but the toilet was not well cleaned. The Best Part!!! The breakfast was Awesome! For $5 you can have a hot delicious breakfast! They will even make your eggs to order. It is serve your self so eat as much or as little, only $5!If you get the excellent service desk lady, and your toilet doesnt have left over specks... I would rate this higher. I have been to Hotels all over the world, Ive seen the best and the worst. I would say, in comparison, you wont be disappointed. Its not the best, but it is far from the worst!
Holiday Inn Auburn was very accommodating for the guests of our wedding reception. The hotel is clean and has all the standard amenities. The staff was pleasant and happy to help for all the random requests from our guests. We rented a large block of rooms, so I was able to see all of the different room options. Everyone was happy!I would recommend the hotel. We are happy we chose this as the lodging for the guests of our wedding reception.
Found everything to be very nice. Everything was convenient to find and use. The handicapped room we had was great except for the tub instead of a walk in shower. Handicapped spaces wold be nice at other entrances to the hotel. Only thing I disliked was breakfast pricing. It was much more if you waited until morning to decide. We only used one breakfast ticket so it was a waste of money for us.
I love it here , great experience , friendly staff. Rooms are nice and clean. Their breakfast is amazing!! I would give it 5 stars but we stayed with a discount which they told us that breakfast wouldnt be charged but they still charged us $27 !! We did contact them and they said it was going to be refunded but they never did And we left the room in good condition but they managed to charge us another $11 we still dont know why but overall we liked it here
Our stay included 3 nights/4 days in a smaller-than-average room including two double beds. Please be aware if you prefer queen beds they are not available on this property, kings and doubles only and roll away beds are not available for king suites. Knowing that there was a need for less expensive accommodations, I booked in Auburn even though all of my business was in Grass Valley. This choice alone saved about $150 a night. I have stayed at the Holiday inn in Grass Valley, the accommodations are a bit higher end at that location, yet not enough to warrant the larger expense. The lay out of the hotel itself is confusing so get to know your ins and outs for ease of use. I found that during our stay the halls were hot and stifling, very uncomfortable while leaving or headed to the restaurant or pool. I am a very light sleeper and found the mattresses were uncomfortable, my husband didnt find them as bad as I did.The staff tried their best to be helpful with wi-fi problems and check-in issues. A news paper was delivered early every morning and a complimentary bottle of water was waiting with a personalized greetings letter on the armoire. I found that these small personal touches were a nice added piece.Overall we were please with our stay. I am one hard cookie to please and these guys hit a 6 our of 10 for me. If I have business here again, I might choose Holiday Inn Auburn for my accommodations.
This location offered me a clean, safe, recently remodeled room after a stressful day of attempting to get over the mountains. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I had my boston terrier with me and he was able to stay as well. The room was beautiful, fresh and clean. The hotel had a lovely restaurant where a full breakfast buffet was offered for just $5.00. Will look forward to stay here again.
I have stayed at holiday inn properties for both business and leisure. This stay was for both family and our wedding party. The staff was outstandingly friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful and convenient. We also had brunch the next day at Max’s restaurant and the staff there were also outstanding.
Our room was immaculately clean and the beds and pillows were heavenly. The staff was friendly and helpful. We felt it was a tad pricey, but then again, we were there at the height of the summer tourist season, so maybe not.The only downside was that our room was next to the (beautiful) courtyard and pool area, and some folks decided to get rowdy out there during the wee hours. We would definitely stay there again, but would ask for a room away from the pool area.Overall, a very pleasant place to stay.
Having traveled for business 20-25 nights a year the last 15 years, I had minimal expectations of this Holiday Inn. I was delightfully surprised. The staff was professional and very friendly. My room and entire facility were as up-to-date and as nice as any other top tier chains I have stayed at in the last 15 years. The room and linens were fresh and clean. My dog was welcome with a very reasonable one-time $30 pet fee, and the designated dog area was clean and grassy with pick-up bags and trash can available. The restaurant (Maxs) was excellent, reasonably priced, and the staff was great. I enjoyed an excellent glass of wine free with the hospitality card I received on check-in. They had wine-tasting and live music available Friday evening, although I had other plans. Highly recommend. If you travel with your pet, please protect this privilege for all of us by limiting his/her activity in the room and picking up after him/her outside ... there arent a lot of nice hotels that will allow pets anymore.
Location, as far as Auburn goes, is great. About half mile walk to Old Town where theres plenty of interesting shopping and quaint dining experiences. Views are unremarkable and the hotel feels a bit outdated. I gave up on the TV and the exercise room was mediocre. Rooms are clean although I did have a large spider walking across my carpet yesterday morning. Breakfast buffet is okay; typical assortment of eggs, sausage, and fruit. Coffee is better elsewhere. The people are nice and I enjoyed the pool once I overlooked the bugs swimming with me. Overall good value but not a destination.
This Holiday Inn is great - clean, comfortable, great service. Our grandson loved the pool, and we all had a relaxing, restful stay. Its nice having a free breakfast, though the scrambled eggs were inedible. However, they cook you fresh omelets or other eggs and that was delicious. The fitness room has really good equipment, though just one of each machine (stair climber, treadmill, etc.).
The room was large, nicely decorated, comfortable and very immaculate. Couldnt ask for any better. The service was extraordinary and friendly and efficient. The restaurant served very good food and the prices were good and the service was excellent. Nice, restful stay. Also enjoyed the kureg coffee in the room. Nice touch. They recognized me as a long time user member of the Priority Club and provided a few extra goodies. I always enjoy Holiday Inn and all their sister hotels.
Staff was accommodating; room was small but comfortable. Nice selection of pillows on each bed. Bathroom is tight space but additional vanity outside of bathroom made experience more convenient. Blackout shades make room very dark for sleeping which is great but a nighlight would be helpful. Very convenient location directly off of I-80, but didnt have any highway noise. Close to old Auburn and rest of town. This is our third stay, and overall this is the best choice for our future stays in Auburn.
There were kids playing in pools being very loud and I was not able to go to sleep at my scheduled time!! Was trying to go to bed at 7pm no later than 8 pm and pool area was very loud!! I have to be up buy 4am and booked the room to catch up on sleep because I have the same problem at home!un able to go to bed because neighbor kids are still playing around house and in yard till 9 pm..love kids and not trying to be a ruddy did!!but I jus wanted a nice quiet place to crash early and catch up on rest!!other than that I liked every about your hotel..
I recommend this hotel. The hotel is very clean, updated, and quiet. The room was clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. I slept great the 2 nights I stayed. Normally I have trouble sleeping in hotels the first night. The staff during check in were very friendly and accommodating.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Auburn for a wedding that was about 30 minutes away. Nora was very helpful upon check-in. The room was clean and comfortable and we were very happy with our stay. They even were able to accommodate late check- out. Would definitely recommend and stay there again if we made our way back to Auburn. A stay.
Great spacious and clean rooms. However the walls seem a bit thin. It sounded like the people upstairs were stomping around half the night. The restaurant was excellent and very accommodating to food allergies. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. All the staff was fantastic as well.
The room was excellent, from the size to the plugs, lights, etc. The staff was truly and genuinely helpful. Probably indigenous to our room only, number 243, or my laptop, but the wifi would work in the hallway but stop once you entered the room and closed the door. Ants in and on the bed were interesting. Would definitely stay again, but bring a bathing suit!!
Great clean and updated king size room. Off the highway for a quiet nights sleep just a mile to charming historical Auburn as well as downtown. Hotel assisted with directions and suggestions. Really enjoyed the Empire Mines. Breakfast was fresh omlet and breakfast bar for only $7.00. At Maxes which was accesssble from inside the hotel. Walking distance to groceries and restaurants. Great room for the money. Mattress too hard for my liking but others might love that. Upgraded my room as a IHG platinum member to a very large king king size room. Brought extra pillows at my request. Great value!
We had a stay for one night in the suite as we were two adults and 3 kids. Room had a king bed and a couch. Disappointed that the couch did not pullout into a bed. This would have made it much easier to accommodate and more restful for us rather than having a kid in our bed. Apparently it used to have a pullout and they replaced it with a regular couch. Room was clean and comfortable otherwise. Kids had fun in the pool and service was good. Enjoyed our stay.
The staff is extremely helpful, the room is large and clean, full of small amenities that really make you smile, including so many lights and plugs and switches I had to call down to the desk to find out how to turn one of them off. Two unfavorable points which might pertain only to our stay and just our room #243: ants in and on the bed, and the wifi would disconnect if I was actually in the room, it was fine in the hallway which is where I am right now, on the floor with my morning tea.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was ideal for a business traveller, particularly because the business center was reliable in its provision of a working computer, working printer, and required supplies like a functioning stapler, plenty of paper, etc. Its surprising how often this is NOT the case when I travel, and I was appreciative of the fact that the center was open 24 hours and it made my life simpler without ever needing to ask staff for help. Thank you.The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. I also had positive interactions with staff and felt safe and content in the hotel. My only disappointment was that I wasnt upgraded in keeping with the policy other Priority Club hotels typically employ for Priority Club Elite members. The hotel was fairly empty, so I would be surprised if availability were an issue. My coworkers tend to tease me about how loyal I am to Priority Club properties when other options are available; and I tell them the perks like room upgrades, free nights, and overall recognition and appreciation for my loyalty cant be beat. Its something I havent experienced with more expensive hotel chains. That said, it would be great if this hotel made a distinction between Elite participants and other club participants. I didnt get the impression that it did.
Everything was absolutely great! Very clean, spacious suite. My only gripe is the deposit still has not been released and I know that room was in exactly the same condition when I left as it was when I checked in. No smoking. So I wonder why it hasn’t been released? I will call tomorrow if it’s not in my account in the morning.
The Holiday Inn at Auburn always impresses me with their wonderful service. The staff is always on point with kindness and very caring attitude. The rooms are always so nice and comfortable and very peaceful. The restaurant and lounge is, in my opinion of the highest quality. The service is also top notch, and the breakfast that is served is also one of the best I have ever had, when you walk in after a great nights sleep and see a chief making personal omelets with everyones favorite ingredients, well you then know this place is awesome. And the Holiday Inn at Auburn is also located perfectly close to any and all outlets of everything you can think of. Its most defiantly a very easy discussion to make.
Only stayed for one night for a conference. The breakfast was nice and had an omelette bar. It was hard to find a good medium with the air conditioning in the room...it either felt too cold but with it off it started to feel stuffy. Other than that the room was clean and the parking lot was safe.
This was the highlight of our 12 night trip. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The guest laundry room was the cleanest Ive ever used; the restaurant Maxs had great food and service. We didnt get to take advantage of the pool or Friday night wine amenities, but certainly hope to next time. The only thing missing in the room was having a microwave standard (instead of for an additional $5 a night if available.)
We enjoyed this hotel from check-in to check-out. The front-desk staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, etc. My only issue with the room was that the air conditioning unit had a funky smell to it (room 313). It wasnt overwhelming, but it wasnt pleasant either. As for the restaurant (Maxs), we had one good experience and one VERY bad experience. The good experience was for dinner on a Friday night. The menu had plenty on it, the waitress was entertaining, and the pricing and quality of the food we ordered was good. However, we had a completely different excperience for breakfast the next morning at Maxs. The restaurant was not very full, yet we had to wait at least 5 minutes to be shown to a table that had a dirty plate sitting on it. The service that morning was awful. We werent able to get out of there in under 90 minutes. And the pancakes I ordered were sub-par and way overpriced just to throw a half dozen chocolate chips on them and charge extra.Still, everything else about the hotel was pretty darn good and we would recommend it.
My wife and I stayed at the Auburn Holiday Inn for 19 consecutive nights recently and were very pleased with every aspect of the service we received from check in to check out. The front desk staff, TJ, Scott et al were tremendously attentive to our needs. We had a few bumps with housekeeping up front but they were promptly attended to and we had no issues from that point on. We ate breakfast at Maxs almost every day along with quite a few dinners and just as with the Inn itself, the wait staff made us feel like family. I travelled internationally on business for 3 decades and found that even the best hotels in the world can feel like a prison after a few nights unless management hires good people and insures they make every interaction with each guest as smooth as can be. While Id never compare this Inn to a five star hotel straight up, I can honestly say I seldom felt as well taken care of as during our stay at the Auburn Holiday Inn. We have used this Inn in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Great staff in a convenient location!
My husband and I spent one night at the Holiday Inn in Auburn. We stayed in an Executive King and were very happy with the large size and the cleanliness of the room. The hotel was also quiet so that we were able to get a restful night sleep. The only criticism we have is that the bathroom was small, there was no door between the sink area and the sleeping area, and the complimentary toiletries were very minimal - we expected a bit more since we paid a good price for an Executive King.

2021-12-14The hotel has a very comfortable feel when you first walk in. The staff welcomed us and was very friendly. They knew the area and local places to visit. We loved everything about our stay. I recommend they place more towels in the room; we only had two towels and that is the minimum for two people. When women shampoo their hair, they need that extra towel. Other than that, everything was absolutely perfect.Thank you Holiday Inn Auburn.

2022-02-28We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Auburn during our recent trip. When I checked in, it was impressed on me over and over that this Holiday Inn was a full service hotel. With that, one would expect those little extras that come with a full service hotel. Not here. We walked into our room and it was no different than a Holiday Inn Express...actually I find the Holiday Inn Express a little nicer. We couldnt set the HVAC system to continuous fan for whatever reason, so when the folks next to us arrived back at 2AM one morning, slamming things around and talking loud the fan didnt drown them out. No extra blankets, the pillows sucked. We did have our dog with us so maybe they put us in a more plain room??? Who knows. Next time we visit Auburn, well likely stay somewhere else.

2022-05-13We really were pleasantly surprised at the extra amenities of our stay at the Holiday Inn Auburn. It was quiet, friendly and comfortable even though right off the interstate freeway. Close to the main town and all breweries and wineries. Nice and convenient having Max’s Restaurant on property. Breakfast was a great value and delicious!

2021-12-13We were first greeted by a wonderful lady when we arrived a bit early for check in and had to get back on our computers for work. I think her name was Camille (I apologize if that’s wrong) but she was wonderful. Great energy and she was able to get us in a room right away and gave us a few laughs as well while we were checking in. The grounds here are nice and the lobby very welcoming. Buffet breakfast with custom made omelets was the bomb!! Dog treats for our dog and they have a nice game table with some games to play in the lobby as well. Really love this hotel it’s conveniently located to a shopping center and Starbucks and there’s an In and Out in the next parking lot. Rooms were nice size and beds comfortable. Definitely be back in in the area again. Very easy checkout they leave your receipt under your door in morning you can just leave keys in room and leave if you like.

2022-03-01I hate sleeping in Hotels to be perfectly honest. I never sleep good. And quite mind-blowing I had one of the best nights of sleep ive ever had. And I was on the first floor. Service was great and a simple phone call had food from a neighboring restaurant at my door in 20 minutes.

2022-02-03Arrived at night, to just spend the night before heading off to Tahoe in the morning.Check in staff was friendly, room was clean, however, the heater wasnt working. Maintenance staff was friendly and he tried to help, but he couldnt fix the heater. It was too late and the kids had slept, so we just got some extra blankets and braved the cold room.Would have been a good stay if not for the heater.

2022-05-12First off the room had a strange odor, but could not tell exactly what it was. the fridge did not work or get cold(no adjustment for it) twice we could not get hot water for shower, bath.loud people in hallway was a drag. would have expected more for appx 230.00 a night.

2022-06-09Ive seen better setups in HI rooms where they had a second sink and nice lil freebies immediately inside the room door but overall pretty nice. Somewhat upscale vibe, seemed very clean
