I was very disappointed that we received a rental car where it was not fully maintained, but it was still given to a customer. Hertz roadside service lady Tiffany told me that she looked up my rental car maintainable records and it showed that it was due for an oil change at 42000. My rental car currently has 38,703 mikes on it. The average person who rents a car is going to drive at least over 1500+ miles. Since I had to drive long distance, I did not feel safe driving this rental car any further. I also thought that since I had to take in this car to exchange it out, it would’ve been nice if the Hertz lady upgraded my rental car for all the trouble I had to go through and wait at the LAX airport. It was a huge inconvenience and took time out of my travel. I emailed customer service and they still have not gotten back to me.Talk to road side service - Tiffany-Notify we need to change cars bc we don’t feel safe driving long distance-Tiffany said to pick up new rental car at Hertz LAX, they’re expecting me-oil due 42000. It’s currently 38,703 miles-9:30pm Arrive at LAX Los Angeles airport and waited almost 2 hours in Hertz rental line to exchange rental cars-We had to keep going back to the same counter because the lady that was helping us kept making us go back and forth, and gave us a rental where there was no car in that space.
Fleet is stretched thin, very short staffed as well. Cars are ancient - received a 2017 model covered in dents for my prestige collection rental - no other cars or Hertz staff to be seen on the lot. Also damages are all marked with big plastic stickers so it felt like driving a mobile crime scene.
Ambiguous signs, snake-like lines, and unhelpful staff created a frustrating experience.Car was very scratched on the outside. The interior looked like someone had spread sunscreen on most surfaces. Not Hertz’s fault, but inside near the car rental counters is complete chaos.
The employee insisted that there was no way that our luggage would fit in the car we got and we should upgrade to an SUV for an additional 30-something dollars per day. Our luggage fit with plenty room to spare (and the back seats could be taken down despite what the employee told us).
Please read this article on the USA TODAY March 2 2022 ( Money section front page)Night Mares after renting and returned the vehicle 5 years ago and got arrested.230 plaintiffs suing this low life rental car company.I had my worst experience in November19th, 2021 at this location. Had a reservation drove from San Francisco to pick a vehicle to drive it to lax Los Angeles, I had 2 cards and enough cash during my 4 days trip from Baltimore to Bay area . Unfortunately I had to wait for 4 hours. cos My Discover card got blocked cos of a potential scam during my trip to San Francisco and Representative from Discover card spoke to hertz associate a young African American with guaranteed payment he refused to accept .Hertz they didnt want to accept debit visa card issued by TD BANK ( BUSINESS DEBIT CARD ) Apple pay, Pay pal too . I requested the associate to get $ 1500 security deposit and the rental for 2 days.In cash or Debit card , He was giggling with his colleague . My friend had to come from San Francisco to help me up. What a embarrassment, This is not the America I grew up. This Rental agency needs lots of help in training their employees in Customer Satisfaction , Unfortunately the Corporate needs help with a new management.
Incredible service! We were about 10 miles out and a warning malfunction light came on so we turned around and took the car back. The guy at the return spot was very helpful and empathetic. He was quick and helped us back to the desk. We luckily had the lady who helped us before and she was so kind and helpful. Gave us s great car. Then the lady helping us at the exit noticed the gas wasn’t all the way full. She apologized and was very helpful as well. Overall a great experience!! Thank you!!
Horrible. We came with a reservation on Sunday morning. They wouldnt accept our card even though it wasnt mentioned when we made the reservation (were from Europe). They were not helpful or compassioned for our problem, Im sure they could have done something. They just didnt care.Came to Los Angeles by train, and rented a car in another Hertz with NO problems and no weird questions. This is not how you treat travelers with a problem on another continent. So rude. After reading the other bad comments we have dealt with the same two people everyone in one star reviews are mentioning. Young guy slouching in his chair while our world in faling apart. Horrible!
There is no way to reach this location on phone. When you call, it says voicemail inbox is full!!!If you have any issues you will have to drive back to this location to get anything resolved. Hertz customer service on the phone will not be helpful either because they ask you to call this location.
Five months after driving across several states with a one way rental and returning the car to this location, I am still dealing with the aftermath of a badly trained employee who could not answer my questions about charges and told me that an overcharge was a refund. The receipt printed didnt show what she had quoted me, just a charge under fifty dollars. A few days later a charge for several hundred dollars of additional shows in my credit card. After disputing the charges with my credit card company, Visa ruled on my favor. Since then, Hertz Corporation has been sending me a bill with the same charges along harrasing letters, but had not responded to my dispute letter and emails. I know that the poor lady who gave me the faulty information probably was overworked and never trained to read the information on her scanner regarding the charges, but the unfortunate result is that I will probably have to pay the extra charges or risk taking a hit to my credit score. Avoid Hertz and this location at all cost (for what is worth, the location in another state where we picked up the car wasnt much better. We had to wait 2 hours over our agreed pick up time and lost couldnt make it to our hotel reservation for the night).
Dropping off my rental car was horrible- greeted by an angry man on Monday December 26, 2021.He def hates his job because all he did was yell “I NEED THE KEYS” didn’t greet us. Would never rent from here again. If people hate their jobs all they have to do is go get a new one. Simple fix.
First I would like to say that renting the car was pretty easy and the car was extremely clean. Unfortunately I had left my remote to my gate inside of the car and remembered it after hertz was closed. I returned the next morning and I am so grateful to say that they found my remote but the most important thing was the customer service from Jovanna, Debra and David was outstanding. They are wonderful. Thanks again hertz!!
Horrible experience and the worst customer service, unprofessional and rude African American Lady with dyed silver blue platinum hair, I’m sorry but I was to stressed and upset to even take her name and I didn’t even want to deal with her attitude so I just walk to the 5 star aisle to pick up my car , she even try to scam me for 200.00 dollars upgrade when I could upgrade my self for better car on line for 35.00 dollars . I hardly leave reviews but after this horror experience, I feel obligated to warn other customers. please try to use different location if you want to avoid unnecessary stress and problems.
Unbelievably horrific service. Waited over three hours in line with four people in front of me to rent my car!!!! I will never rent from any of these companies ever again. Agent processed TWO people in an hour and then went to lunch with people in line and we have already been here an hour. Ladies in front of me said it was worse for them 5 weeks ago. If you have stock in these companies- get our now because hertz thrift dollar all these companies have no interest in being competitive in the current economy.
Booked a Hertz car through Southwest for a 10:30PM pick up - plane arrived at 10:30pm, no delays on my end getting luggage and riding shuttle. Arrived at this rental car location just before 11PM with my 2 year old only to find it deserted - there were 3 other customers in the same situation. Hertz phone customer service “closed for the day” - so much for 24/7. Seems to be a regular occurrence per the security personnel. Hertz claims online to wait up to an hour from the rental time, so we were well within the limit. Shameful for these employees to knowingly leave travelers stranded in Oakland.Fox-Rent-a-Car thankfully still had an employee there and after waiting for an hour while the other stranded customers to get cars, paid $60 more than my Hertz reservation but had a car. Left at midnight for an hour drive north.Terrible service.
The customer service at this is the worst Ive ever encountered in my life. The person at the counter was very rude and unprofessional especially when I declined upgrade for additional charge of few hundred dollars.I was waiting in a line for ridiculous long time and the the car wasnt even ready! And when I finally picked up my car it wasnt clean the way how it supposed to be.I definitely do not recommend this location. Safe yourself a headache.
This is the worst Hertz Location Worldwide! Rude and unprofessional customer service at the counter. It’s seems like the people at the counter make you big favor for renting from them and if you decline upgrade for few hundreds dollars they became even more rude and will show you how much your business is appreciate there . The car was dirty with stuff left behind the seats and under seats from previous customer . Broken plastic parts under the car just hanging . I will advise you to rent from other locations.
Would have been a great experience except the greeter at the door told us to wait in the really long line for the main counter, when really we couldve just gone to the monitor outside the avis preferred booth and found out which car to go to. What shouldve taken less than 5 minutes took more than an hour for absolutely no reason.
I never write reviews but this experience was so bad that I don’t ever want someone to experience what I went through. I have never in my life experienced such horrible customer service. First of all, I prepaid for my rental through Expedia weeks in advance. We specifically needed a 7 person SUV to drive to Yosemite with our entire family which was double the cost of a sedan. Upon arrival, we waited in line for 1.5 hours and watched while everyone else in line went through the same terrible service. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I was confident they wouldn’t do the same to me because I paid for my car already and didn’t think they would “give my car away.” Once I got to the counter I reinforced the need for the 7 person SUV that I PAID FOR in which they told me they didn’t have any and they gave our car away. They ended up giving us a tiny 5 seater sedan and not even a mid size SUV even though we saw another person get into a mid size SUV so we know for a fact they certainly had them. This wasn’t the end of it. They told us to try another hertz the next morning and we would certainly get the SUV we paid for. Low and behold, we spent 5 hours driving around to 3 hertz locations and NONE had the car we needed. In addition, they had the audacity to still charge us for the cost of the 7 person SUV when our car was worth half of that. It gets even worse, we didnt even want the car at this point and asked them to just take it back because we didn’t want to pay for it. They didn’t allow us to do this and demanded that we either keep the car or drive to the Oakland airport to drop it off. We travelled all the way from LA to go to Yosemite with our family and then half of us couldn’t go because of this. I am beyond baffled that a company like this even runs. This review applies to the Pleasanton location and Oakland airport hertz.
I flew in late and barely made it to Hertz before they closed. Brejai and her supervisor, I believe his name is Rojan, stayed late to ensure I was able to get my rental car. My credit card was additionally giving me issues. I was able to get these issues resolved and get my car, Brejai and her supervisor waited patiently while I had my credit card issues resolved. Great Service!
Herman and Tess were amazing helping me find the type of vehicle I needed. They were happy to assist and so accommodating. I returned the vehicle late and had to drop the keys in a drop box. It made me a little nervous, but my final receipt was emailed before the sun came up. Great service and I’ll definitely be back to rent again!
AVOID THIS HERTZ AT ALL COST... I returned my car while the return agent was working on other cars. She told me to leave the car key in the cup holder and she told me that Im good to go. The return was not processed (still not processed) and Hertz made extra charges on my credit card. I called them and they said hold on for a minute and hang up on me. I tried to call several times and nobody picks up the phone. I had to call my credit card issuer and declined all charges that Hertz made. The car was pretty new and relatively clean (even though there were some napkins left in the glove box), but Hertz truly wastes my time and energy. Im cancelling all of my future reservations with Hertz. Hertz always say fast and easy but thats just not true.
Worst people anywhere, just slightly above the Hertz Customer service line that only seems to be open 4 hours every other day excluding weekends. When Hertz says if they have your flight information so they will wait, that’s a lie and then will defend themselves saying that, “at least we didn’t make you prepay it”
We Really Appreciated Margos assistance on getting my family and I quickly and effectively serviced and out to our flight. Traveling with a baby is already stressful enough but when have a bright happy spirit to help it makes all of the difference. She also made it a point to myself and my husband to tell us her name and stressed the importance of the survey. Being in service myself I totally overstand & I respect your go getter attitude. You earned your 5stars 🎉 Thank you Ms. Margo
The only positive about this entire transaction was the front representative who filled my reservation and the car itself. After that Hertz worked very hard to lose a customer. When I returned the vehicle, I had to wait for almost 5 min. before I could even find a rep cause she was busy and I quote ...feeding the cats milk. Then several weeks later, after getting my receipt listing all charges and mileage, Hertz send me a letter saying that there was a gas audit and that my car was not returned with a full tank and that I would now be charge $46.85. False. Their original receipt shows that it was full at time of drop off. After calling their customer service line, I was told there was nothing they could do to reverse the charges because I didnt have a receipt. Why would I keep a receipt after they had sent me their own? I pointed this out and they still said there was nothing they could do.I called the Oakland office where I made the rental and could not get through. Hertz lies and tries to nickel and dime their customers on fake charges. Never will rent from them again.
I had an extremely frustrating experience. I made a reservation for a small sedan , 2 weeks in advance of my arrival. When I arrived, not only was the car not available -- I was told to wait 15-20 minutes and ended up waiting an hour for a car, which STILL wasnt a small sedan but a compact!Unfortunately, itll be awhile before I rent with this company again.
Five Star customer and 1 star service most of the time-always seems to b some sort of an issue. This time booked & paid for car not listed on board...oh good reason-didnt have the car avail then wanted $10 up charge per day to give me a different car. Their fault but I should wait a while then pay more? Just about DONE w Hertz special customer service. Ever since big corporate their car quality down, mileage way up, prices up, and service just not there for loyal customers. Maybe they see Presidents Circle status down to Five Star...soon theyll see my status go to 1 star like their company and Ill be gone.
We arrived at the facility to find that, despite reserving a car, there werent any available. We were asked to wait after paper work for an hour, without the possibility of an assured ride. The agent was helpful but the experience in picking up the car left a lot to be desired. The quality of service at Hertz has taken a hit for sure. They gave us a refund and a $25 coupon with Hertz.Give Hertz a miss if youre trying to stick to a schedule. Use an app-based car rental instead.
I reserved a Hertz rental car on 6/15 from Oakland airport. There is a long line waiting. This is the first time for me as a Gold club member. I did not get the courtesy service. When I want to pay with gift certificate, he told meI have to use that when I return the car.On Saturday 6/18, I returned the car on appointed time, the line was not long, but there were argument between the counter employees and renters before me. It took a good 40 minutes for me to be served. The person who saw my gift certificates said I have to presented that when I reserved the car. I told her my sister just used the same kind of certificate 4 days ago in LAX without a problem, She told me to wait for the supervisor. I waited for another 10 min. The supervisor finally redeemed the certificate for me and I was able to leave the center.Last year, I rented Almo car. I did not have this much trouble. If I have to rate from 1-5, I would give 2 stars for this experience.I
Booking was easy online, I received an email with information that my car was ready and the precise stall # before I arrived. The staff at gate was friendly and efficient. Upon my return, the staff was very kind and once again efficient. This whole process allowed me to skip any line or delay and I enjoyed my trip. The car was new and clean, I loved this whole process.
We had a great experience with this Hertz location. We rented the Managers Special and got a car for 20 dollars cheaper than we would have paid otherwise! It was only a compact, but we didnt need anything bigger/nicer. The car we got only had 44 miles on it total, and we put that up to 140 miles by the time we were done! It was a good car and a good experience.
If youre flying into Oakland, avoid renting from Hertz unless you have plenty of time and patience. There were 4 couples in front of me on the regular Hertz line, and only one lady working behind the counter, and she was only helping those of us on the regular line when there were no gold members, and gold members kept coming. After waiting over an hour, I had moved up one place in line, they finally got someone to come over from the Dollar counter to help out. While helping me, the agent actually encouraged me to complain to management and post a truthful review online to hopefully get management to do something about the under-staffing situation.
The initial process was good. The car was ready, tank was full and the car was clean. I had a Ford Focus. It drove well and gas mileage was great. I returned the car after hours and the rental contract was closed out upon opening of business later on that day. It received a statement via email. To my surprise I was charged for fuel even though I returned the car full. Corporate office speedily resolved the matter with no hassle.
After reserving and paying in advance for a car, when I arrived there were no cars available and a whole bunch of people very upset in the same situation. I had to wait in line for a car for about 30 min. Cars arrived on a first come first served basis. Some cars. Some pickups. Take it or leave it! Is this the new and improved Hertz? Now a week later I find a charge for $12.95 on my credit card for “tolls”! I purposefully avoided all toll lanes. And I paid cash for my one bridge toll. I spent about 20 min searching for the right person in charge of “tolls” at the site that Hertz pointed me to. I waited another 10 min for a live person and explained my problem. She told me that my problem was very common: to pay a bridge toll and then be charged another $7 plus and additional 5.95 by Hertz. She told me that she would remove the charges.I’m getting fed up with Hertz very quickly!
Arrived to rental desk with a line of about 6 customers. Only two agents were manning the desk and one left even though the line with customers had grown to about 10. The lone one agent processed customers as fast as possible but there was a significant delay. When I finally made it to the desk I was then informed that since I am a gold member I could go to a different area to be processed quickly. I went to this area only to find a sign that said go back to where I had just left. I went back to the same area to find a manager talking with the lone agent. When asked about the staffing issue at both desks she seemed confused and unaware. She stepped in the back and returned about 5 minutes later and proceeded to walk past me without an update. I asked her could she provide one and she said she would get someone to the gold member desk as soon as she could and instructed me to go there and wait. Fortunately I decided to stay in the line where I first started as I was processed about 30 minutes later and no one ever showed at the gold member desk. This experience with Hertz is unacceptable and I plan to follow up further to ensure no one has to experience this level of service in the future.
This was my first time pick-up a rental at this location. I had just made the reservation the night before. When I got to the HERTZ area to get a car they were very nice, quick to greet me and offer to help me find a car. I was out of the pick-up area as quickly as I could get my luggage in the car. Since I enrolled as a gold HERTZ member it made reserving a care quick and easy even if it was last minute(the night before). I would rent from this location again and recommend them to my family and friends.
Excellent service, although I had to wait about half an hour to get a car because there were none available. Although Im a Gold member I had to go to the counter to have everything written up. The car they assigned me was a new Impala, excellent in all respects, great gas mileage. Checking the car back in was very efficient, and everyone was helpful and friendly. Hertz is still my best rental option.
One star because I cannot chose no stars. It must be a special feature of the Oakland experience at Hertz to have cars that are in rough shape. Mechanically the car was fine, but the dent in the rear quarter panel and the scratched up bumper were the icing on the cake of a bad rental experience. Im glad I dont pay for my Gold membership, otherwise Id be asking for my money back. Upon arriving I was told to pick a car from the gold area, I had reserved a Volkswagen Jetta or similar, apparently Kia Optimas are similar never mind the rate class is different. Second I did not initially get the child seat I reserved, but they did not forget to put the charge on the bill. I got 10 miles down the road before realizing it and then had to turn around in rush-hour traffic, and not even so much as an Im sorry to hear you had to do that, but rather, its your responsibility to get the child seat (hidden behind the both in an oh so conspicuous area). In the midst of all this, I attempted to contact the location and when I dialed nine as instructed by their system to speak to an agent, I got a busy signal each time I tried to call. This must be how they avoid dealing with frustrated customers. So I then called the number for rental extensions (based upon my needs this was not the right number) I was calling to see if I could change my drop-off location to one in downtown San Francisco that would allow me to do an evening drop-off, and I gave up when the agent couldnt deliver on my request except to say, yes you can drop the care off in San Diego (clearly no knowledge of US geography) 502 miles away. I dont think she understood why I didnt want to drive 502 miles just to drop the car off when Oakland was just 20 miles away, I was just trying to avoid having to drive back and forth the Bay Bridge again if possible.
Absolutely horrible experience with Hertz. Took a BART, a train and a bus shuttle to get to Oakland for a Mazda3. Booked it 2 months ago and chose it because my wife and I are taking a 2 week road trip and wanted the good gas mileage. Got to Hertz at the Oakland Airport and there were NO CARS! For ANYONE! Even a Gold member was waiting for 2 hours before I got there. The manager, Hanan, was absolutely useless. After I demanded she address us all she finally came out and said they overbooked all the cars and we were... in a sense.. screwed.so now we are all stuck in Oakland. I am not getting a car good on fuel mileage. I was told we get whatever becomes available. Also, I called the 800 number at 2pm on Saturday and was told no one can help me until Monday.
They are horrible!!!! DO NOT RENT from Hertz go to ENTERPRISE instead. My husband reserved the car 1 month in advance and when he went to pick it up they refused to rent the car to him. They said he did not have credit. My husband and I are students and have paid for our tuition, living expenses, and car payments in cash. We have zero debt. They had him sit in their office for over 2 hours and promised us a full refund that would come a week later because we had paid for it in advance. When the refund came it was only for about a 1/3 of what we paid. They told us that they had to charge us a cancelation fee even though we did not cancel but THEY canceled on us. Luckily my husband was able to get a car at Enterprise and they actually know how to treat customers. My husband flew out there for an interview for medical school and thank goodness that he was able to find a car with Enterprise and made it to his interview.
Wouldnt accept my debt card, kept saying wouldnt read. Had already reserved a car there, flew in and could not get a car, spent an hour trying to figure it out. Walked to national car rental and Bam! Had a car in 5 minutes, no deposit either. Never going to Hertz again.
Higher than usual prices, airport fees and fuel charges detracted from any otherwise dazzling performance. I enjoyed the new Hertz plan of checking out any vehicle in my designated block. I chose a Camry which was really very comfortable and had great fuel consumption. There were a few nicks on the rear bumper but the staff at Hertz were very polite and made note of the damage on my contract immediately.
Got the car in Oakland at 5:30 a.m from kiosk. The lady in the lot said the paper work went be right and no one will be in till 6:00a.m and gates dont open till 5:45. I had already prepaid. At 6:00 a.m mo one had showed up to let us out the lady behind the desk I talked to at 6:13 said she cant do refunds and no manager showed up. So no employees should up to release cars and no manager showed up. The lady behind d the desk called 2 managers who one said no we cant have a refund or a car and was not gonna let other workers let us out. The other one told her how to go around it and had a work put o code in so we could leave. They had cars all parked In wrong spots. Rude people, no help, wont refund us and there were 2 other people going there samething... NEVER EVER AGAIN WORST COMPANY EVER. its not the first time i had problems with them. 2hrs later we finally get to leave with car I already paid for
Arrived on time. Since I have Gold Service I went directly to the car and looked for the contract in the car, didnt see it and then went to the desk...no wait and was told contracts are printed at the exit. No biggy. Just havent traveled in awhile. At exit it was recommended to use Hertz gas refill and total insurance coverage. I declined both. The value isnt there for me. Upon return only one person servicing returns. This caused some delay for customers behind me. Overall, I found my experience Very Good but didnt feel it fell into Excellent.
Everyone at this location with whom I worked was very nice and professional. I made a reservation over the phone which I later had to change to an earlier pick-up time. Not only was the location very accommodating, I also was able to rent a mini-van for the weekend for significantly less than I was quoted at many other locations within The Bay Area. Everything went very smoothly from making the reservation to returning the car in Reno.
It was an amazing experience yet again with Hertz. You guys never fail me. Really quick easy in and easy out no hassle at all. The only complaint i would have is that the windshield wipers were bad and it rained our entire ride home from San Diego. Other than that, top flight rental car of the world!!
Being a mileage [Plus member did not seem to help the attendant who kept using my profile credit number vs the new card, so it kept rejecting. I got card company on line and explained there was no issue, finally I asked for a manager. She was great ! she addressed the card mix up issue , apologized and I was on my way 30 minutes later... not the best but not the worst either. They should have automatically upgraded e for the troubles
Avoid this hertz. They don’t staff their employees appropriately. I had a great customer service experience but I waited a hour when 7 people were ahead of me. And no, I’m not exaggerating. Staff is great. I’m a gold member and travel a lot but I’m just going to enterprise to avoid the hassle again because I fly to San Fransico for work a decent amount. *side note* this has happened 2 times in a row so usually I’m pretty forgiving but it seems like this is normal
Im writing this from the rental car terminal where I have been since 11pm, for my 11:30 reservation, only to be told that everyone left at around 10pm. I am now stranded in Oakland, with no way of leaving here, as I just arrived via flight. This is the poorest customer service experience Ive had in a very long time. Im not sure how employees clock out early and leave, knowing they have reservations on the books
Car was absolutely filthy inside. 14,600 miles on the odometer and I doubt the interior was ever cleaned. inside windows filthy, and fogged over. steering wheel and controls all sticky. Had to pull into a service station and clean the car myself. Prior renters drivers license and receipt left on from seat. I mailed it back to him. Not the best experience.
Hertz Car Rentals at Oakland international Airport is great! Going for the better deal with another agency so you can make trip expenses lower? That may not be a wise choice. Hertz prices are competitive so a few bucks to me is worth the hassle and headache preventative maintenance of a car rental. I experienced hassles and headaches from the other agencies at OAK. Running around to waiting in line when all you want to do is get to a good car or SUV and leave can be eliminated with Hertz. Sounds like a sales pitch, its not. Gained from personal experiences of many consistent car rentals over the past year + from OAK. Cleaner vehicles with lower miles, more educated staff, and better customer service from Hertz. Hertz at OAK I give 4 stars. None of the rental car companies at OAK are a 5 star. Of them all Hertz is the best.
Arrived on time and it was a very busy day for Hertz. but our counter person was very knowledgeable and professional and we were at our car in just a few minutes. Brand new Chevy Malibu, so the car was perfect. Had a very good experience with Hertz and would recommend them.
Straightforward experience. There was a slight mixup with the car assigned not in the slot it was supposed to be ;-) but the staff on site were able to resolve it quickly and give us a replacement vehicle in a timely fashion. It is a bit of a drive from the airport but that is true for any car rental company at the Oakland airport and I dont see that as a Hertz problem.
I have never experienced a more dishonest business practice. The agent up-charged me on insurance and I had to spend 5 minutes standing my ground that I had never asked for premium insurance. In the modified bill, she added an additional product, i.e. road side service , which I didnt need as I was going to be in the area and mostly going on short rides. I had a bad feeling as she made sure to tuck in the bill and hide it from me before I left so I checked at home and noticed the additional charge 2 hours later. Now, theyre giving me a run around to take it off my contract. Its like yes, you have an additional sale but you also lost a future customer. If Im unfortunate enough to use their service, I dont think Ill ever trust Hertz to not throw in extras. I think its good practice to double check your bill at this location.
Love being a Hertz Gold member. All my rental experiences have been a breeze. Im only giving 4 stars because this particular rental I would have preferred to drive a smaller vehicle. I did get a free upgrade and driving a full sized hybrid was very nice but I myself prefer small and wish an economy size had been available.
I found out when I got to the ticket counter at Oakland Airport for my flight home that I’d foolishly left my wallet in my car when I returned it. I hopped back on the shuttle to the rental car area and went straight to the returns area. It had been 20 minutes since I’d dropped it off and it had already been driven to the carwash/inspection area so the gentleman who processed my return drove over to said carwash/inspection area, located the car I’d been driving and drove back with my wallet in hand (and I was able to catch my flight and get home after a long work week). I was and am extremely grateful for such immediate action and for the excellent customer service (every other part of my rental experience was aces as well).
I arrived on time for my reservation & was told I would be put on a waiting list (5 others before me) & made wait for an hour for my rental car. There were plenty of cars on the lot, which seemed like an easy fix to upgrade me. Instead, they put me in a tiny compact car which was less than adequate for traveling back and forth between Modesto, Pleasanton & Oakland. I was surprised that such a reputable company would operate at this standard, especially on premise at an airport.
Quick & efficient service and then no hassle at all returning even though we were a few minutes late. We enjoyed our car which appeared to brand new and in great shape. Not sure if other locations are this good, but when flying through OAK again, this will be the company we use.
Very efficient and organised service. Booked car rental on holiday at the last minute, no problem. Friendly service. Good value for money with insurance and damage waiver included in the quoted price. Was allowed to choose whatever car I wanted from a good selection within the category I had chosen. I was able to wander around the parking lot and choose the one I liked. Good car too!
Why isnt there a negative star option?Booked a car online with a guaranteed rate and prepaid for the week only to find that the insurance rate guaranteed online would not be honored and the actual rate was more than twice the rate on my confirmation. The manager agreed that he could replicate the online price but could not honer it. We ended up paying over $600 in insurance on a $300 rental.I think thats classic bait and switch... Isnt it.
We are Gold Members at Hertz. We have rented several cars and have not had a worse experience than we did in Oakland Airport in September 29, 2018. When we arrived after a long day of travel, our name was not on the board they have for you to pick up your car. I also noticed there were very few cars in the lot, with zero cars in the “gold” section. We waited to be helped by the staff for ten minutes. This was not because of a lack of staff, but they all seemed confused and not at all interested in helping. We finally made it to the manager, Elesa. We had reserved a “Manager’s Special” car and were expecting a full sized car as we have received at other locations. Elesa quickly told us we could only get a compact or pick up truck. We knew this was not the case and the rate we paid was the same for a full sized car. Elesa was not interested in explaining or discussing this issue, as one would expect someone in customer service, especially a manager, would want to do. Instead, she quickly dismissed our questions and said we would take whatever another employee drove up with from another lot. A car hastily pulled up, still wet from what I assume was a quick wash. The whole experience not good and we will be booking with another company next time.
Hertz has been very diligent about making each rental experience a pleasure. Clean cars, newer models, well maintained. In and out very easily from their facility. Cost of a pre-paid tank of fuel was reasonable, no arm-and-a-leg price gouging. Full coverage insurance was also reasonable. I prefer no hassles, and Hertz is there with me.
Terrible Experience. I arrived at Oakland facility timely for our reservation only to learn that no cars were available and we had 7 parties in front of us waiting for the same. After over an hour of waiting, we were told a vehicle was available. No Hertz personnel was there to walk around the car with us to identify prior damage. We identified a few large gashes in the sidewall of the tire. We had to return to the counter, wait again and accept a smaller vehicle that what we reserved. Completely disappointed in this brand, no inventory management and exposed us to a very dangerous situation if we did examine the first car ourselves. Never again.
Terrible experience at the Oakland Airport last week. I tried to upgrade the car and the Gold office workers was completely disinterested and unhelpful. So I just kept the assigned vehicle. Upon check out they suggested I swapped vehicles because the VIN was not found....I said I took the car assigned to me. 20 minutes later I finally exit the lot but the gate worker had kept my driverside license. I realize it 20 minutes later and go back. She didnt tell me she was sorry but rather told me I needed to update my hertz account with a cell because she couldnt get a hold of me. Checking the car back in took 25 minutes because the tablet was not working (apparently there is only 1!?!?) All around poor service.
Hertz refused to replace or refund a rental car that was given to us in an unsafe to drive condition (flat tire and transmission slipped in reverse, incredibly dangerous. It also had a dented bumper from a previous accident) for an hour until we literally chased down a manager in the parking lot. Staff yelled loudly at my mother when she asked what she was supposed to do, as we were now stuck at the airport with no car. Unbelievable. I dont normally leave negative reviews but this was some of the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. This is not our first bad experience with Hertz and we have learned our lesson. Steer clear of them. Wish I could give them zero stars.
My experience booking a car with corporate was HORRIBLE. The guy reserved the wrong car, quoted the wrong price, and didnt actually send me any reservation number or email with information. He told me there would be a deposit of 60.00 which ended up being 200.00....He told me everything was fine, and it all went wrong.HOWEVER: at Hertz oakland airport location, a wonderful hertz representative helped me correct what had been mismanaged and not only switched me to the right car but discounted it as well since I had been quoted a different rate. She made sure that, though corporate/phone lines had screwed up big time, we still were out in time to enjoy most of our scheduled trip.Im not really sure if I would use them again, due to all the misinformation.
My fight to Oakland International Airport was delayed several times from its original arrival time of 11:10 PM. I didnt arrive until nearly 1:30 AM. After receiving my luggage, I was told by Airport Info that all the Rental Car companies were closed. I wasnt looking forward to calling a taxi for a drive that would take me 45 minutes away from the airport. I called the Oakland Airport Hertz location and they told me they were staying open for me so I can get my rental car. They gave me directions to the Rental Shuttle that they were keeping at the airport for me. Two ladies (I believe Tess and Tillie), one at the parking lot and the other who cleared my car to leave the lot went above and beyond and made my travel experience so much less painful than what it could have turned out to be. I am so thankful to Hertz for having people like these two ladies on their team. Thank goodness for being a Gold Plus Rewards Presidents Circle member. I arrived at my hotel after 2:45 AM.
This one star rating ONLY concerns the unacceptable behavior of the lady manager on August 21, 2018 at Hertz Oakland Airport. As a gold car holder I wanted to change a rental car picked up the day before because its driver seat turned out uncomfortable for my medical back problems. They had exactly the car I‘d like to have instead (same full size category) - the model which I had rented the year before at Hertz. The nice lady at the counter said there won‘t be a problem but she had to ask her manager first.A short time later she came back and apogized, telling about her manager “she said no”. Reason? None! When you paid over $ 1,100 for a rental carshouldn‘t they show a little more respect?Seems that lady manager had ZERO understanding of the term ‘customer satisfaction’. Definitely the wrong person for the job.
Absolutely horrible customer service at this location. Double charged for the rental, tried to discuss it with the agent only to be told that Its not my problem, that’s yours and then when asking for her name, she refused and added a very sarcastic smirk to add to the insult. The agent was extremely rude, condescending and an extremely poor respresintive of your brand, especially to a first time customer. The double charge was finally acknowledged only after I showed them a text from my cc company that showed a charge from Hertz prior to my arrival at the location, where I charged a second time upon my arrival. When confronted with proof, it was only then did they admit a mistake had occurred. Up until that point, I was treated extremely rude and made to feel like I was in the wrong. A horrible first impression, one that definitely solidified my intent on never renting from Hertz ever again.
Worst rental experience ever! The counter personnel have no customer service training at all. I’m still waiting over an hour after my reservation time and have been skipped over by Gold Members and countless other that arrived after me. Was told I had 4 people in front of me and over and hour later after 10 names called I still have 3 people ahead of me...straight BS!!!
Very slow service. Hertz had the shortest line when we got there and we watched all the other lines cycle through twice before we were served. Staff was friendly but slow. With the line moving at a glacial pace, 3 of the four receptionists left without explanation for ~25 minutes. Car return was efficient.
I am not pleased with my experience at all!!! We arrived to the location and the lady at the counter had just had a bad experience so I went into the transaction knowing that I wanted to be extremely nice to this lady. She took all of the information that she needed including a $200 deposit just to tell us that she did not have a full size cars. I informed her that we reserved a car last month and she became angry telling us that we just need to sit down and wait. Being that she had just had an angry customer before me and I didnt want to cause a scene, I just walked away from the customer. The customer behind me matched the employees anger. A short while later the person behind me received a car and Im still waiting!!!!Moral of the story: curse the lady out next time
I have been a Hertz customer for almost 50 years. You are still a great company to do business with ,but I miss not being able to rent Ford Products . I am a big person and the import cars that you have to rent are nowhere near as comfortable as Ford cars. I have tnot done business with another rental car company, but I will be looking to see who has Fords to rent. At one time all you had was Fords and it was great. I thought Ford owned Hertz at one time, but maybe not. Anyway thank you for the opportunity to tell you how I feel. Sincerely , Raymond Cohen
Another great Hertz experience. Didnt really get the vehicle I needed (The new Tahoe has very small cargo area) but Big thanks to Dwaine Herman David for his help returning the vehicle, Advising me on additional rental options for the future and even helping when I pulled a bonehead move during the return. LOLThanks again Dwaine, youre awesome!!!!!
Our plane was delayed so we called customer service ahead of our arrival and they reassured us that someone would be waiting for us at the kiosk even though they close at 1am. We called a second time to double check because our plane was sheduled to land at 2am and they told us the same story after taking down our reservation number and flight Information that someone would wait for us because of our flight delay (Hey not bad right!? we were getting the VIP treatment) unfortunately no one is here and we have been waiting for several hours. Not sure why Hertz thinks its a good business idea to DECEIVE and LIE to its customers. HERTZ IS UNPROFESSIONAL, Thank you for ruining our memorial day weekend.
Jovanna J. , Jasmine , and Hanan are amazing, and rockstars of customer service ! They all had helped me out with a pricing problem on a vehicle I couldnt have done on my own , during the Christmas season. Even while I was stressed out they made my experience with Hertz a pleasant one. Thank you !
I arrived at the Oakland International facility timely for our reservation. Since I have Gold Service I went directly to the Gold Members Board and my name did not show and no one was in the Gold Members Office...it was locked. I went to the Main Hertz Counter only to learn that I would have to wait in line and we had 3 parties in front of us. I was told which space our car was located, but No Hertz personnel was there to walk around the car with us to identify prior damage. The person at the EXIT Gate did walk around the car with me to examine the vehicles condition and approved its condition. Upon return only one person was servicing returns. This caused some delay for customers behind me. Overall, I found my experience Fair but didnt feel it fall into Excellent.
Be aware that when ordering your car online, you might be deceived as to how much the rental will actually cost. When I arrived at the office, my amount to rent actually DOUBLED due to airport fees and the under 25 charge. Rental was clean and in good condition, however the company charged my card yet again upon return without giving any reasons as to why. Will not be returning to this rental office.
Horrible service by the counter rep at the Oakland office. Was told no car was available (after reserving online) and just had to wait. After a long wait, we approached the Hertz Gold office outside and secured a car immediately. The counter rep then called us back up in form of a very long line and yelled that the car was ready while I was on a phone call and was incredibly rude. I believe his name was Fakate (?) On the bright side, the check-out personal was very professional (Dwaine).
Apparently Gold status means nothing. I called the night before to confirm my reservation and arrival time. I even provided flight information. Despite my best efforts to ensure an error free experience, a car was not available upon my arrival. This was particularly problematic given my tight schedule. It took approximately 20 minutes to final get a car.Go National.
Rented an economy car here through Priceline. The line was slow, but no big deal. I get to the counter with my BF and I give her my name and reservation info. She starts giving me total attitude because I paid for the car, but listed him as the driver. I didnt think she was going to give us the car because she said I couldnt change the reservation (which I didnt) and I couldnt pay without being the primary driver (which I did, no problem on Priceline). So finally, she put me as the primary and then asked if I still wanted him on, which I said no thank you, but it was free, so she did it anyway. Im not sure why she made a huge deal about it. The rest of the transaction continued with hostile tones and condescending remarks and was very uncomfortable. I was blamed for everything and ridiculed for using a third party website. Apparently, she couldnt handle a standard transaction.
Hertz does it again.Show up. See my name. Walk to the stall and Im off.Not sure why people have trouble with customer service...the Hertz business model consists of checking in and out at the parking lot. I dont even price shop anymore, Hertz is too easy and consistent. Thanks again.
I work at a hotel and as a perk we get a 40% discount that has been mutually agreed upon by the two parties. When I made a reservation in may I was given a quote of $139 for the week in an economy car. When I arrived in Oakland I was told they would not honor the rate and that the new rate was $595. I am no mathematician but even if you completely take out the discount, the rate should have been $228.40, not $595. The woman at the desk was rude and combative and when I asked to speak to the manager, he was no better. He backed her up. They embarrassed me and basically had me stuck with a rate that is $456 higher than what was quoted. It was a busy weekend so I felt trapped in this car and am currently trying to get this fiasco situated with the local (where I am from) and corporate offices. This is not what I wanted to do on my vacation. These people were so rude I literally cancelled any plans I may have had in Oakland for fear that the whole town was that horrible. I am not leaving San Francisco or Sausalito.
As a gold member, I proceeded to the assigned car without going to the counter. I picked up my car and crove to the exit booth to receive my documents. When I returned the car, the attendant quickly printed my receipt, and I was on my way. Very efficient, a great car rental experience.
You know... I thought my buddy just had bad luck when hertz said they didnt have his chosen car and he had to pay more for a different one. Sure enough, we show up with our camaro or equivalent reservation and are given the choice of a Hyundai sonata or a Ford fusion. When we go to the counter, Tess did well to speak with a manager and get us a very awesome deal on a Q60. Little did we know that it would be DOUBLE and no discount AT ALL, but we were told we would be getting this at a big discount because of the mistake. We take the car without realiz8ng, have nothing but problems, return from our trip 1400 miles round trip, and inf9rm them of all the problems. Mickey, the manager, tells us that we agreed to the paid upgrade and theres nothing she can do about the price. I dont know much about bait and switches, but this seems pretty on point of that. Their website? Yeah, no longer has a camaro in the options list. Strange. Please look at my other reviews. This is the FIRST 1 star review I have left. UPDATE: I spoke to Melisha with customer service and I have changed my rating to 4, because she made it INSANELY easy to find a resolution. I spent more time in the automated system than I did with her and she fully understood the issue, and was clear and concise on a resolution. I only wish Mickey had been able to offer a little more empathy and effort. Mickey was nice, but definitely a back-office manager and not customer-oriented. That k you Tess and Melisha.
I arrived in Oakland, per my schedule, and when I got to the counter, there were 4 people in front of me and only one customer rep to assist. The wait time was not long and I got a really nice clean car. However, I only drove 90 miles and because I took the pre-pay gas option, it cost me $46.00 dollars. I have since changed my profile, I will never pre-pay for gas again. Lesson learned. The contract does state if you go under 75 miles, they will refund, but it seems they should have more break points, just saying!
Be prepared to wait in line for 45 minutes if you made a reservation with HotWire or Priceline. Then check yourself out by walking out to the parking lot, choosing a car and filling out the pre-rental inspection form. Then do your best to find a staff to help you. Because only then will someone tell you where to find the keys. This is how Hertz saves money: DIY car rental.
Picked up a car early in the morning before 7 am, and I went to work, after parking my car then I realized the cars bumper came loose. I returned and exchanged for another car. I filled the incident report abput what happened, but not sure if Hertz will blame me for the loose bumper which I did not even know what happened. When I returned my car early next morning at SFO to catch my flight, the employee just told me to leave the key in the car and I can go....no receipt was given. I rent car from Hertz numerous times, but this is my strangest experience I had. 1. A car with loose bumper, 2. No receipt was given.
Been a Hertz customer for close to two decades or more. Generally, Hertz is probably comparable to the other rental companies, but they are usually located close to the airport. So convenience gets them 2 stars. The initiation of the Plate Pass system is the reason I did not give 5 stars. One I have no ability to opt in or out and I get charged on my CC whether I use it or not; to me thats fraud. Plus, it comes as a separate bill on my CC (kinda sneaky); if the charge came on my Hertz expenses, I could legitimately charge my clients. Plus the charges are ridiculously higher than the actual tolls. FWIW, every time I have challenged the charges with my CC company, I have prevailed. Congress should investigate this scheme and make changes to the law like they did with the insurance options years ago.
Easy pick up and drop off. Very friendly staff. However, when I brought my vehicle back in the rain, I and bags got soaked while having to run from the dropoff lane to the rental building over 200 feet away! Taking the 15 min rental shuttle and then waiting and flying soggy is not fun!
Reserved a suburban for my family of 7 for our vacation two months before our planned arrival. When we got there, the lady at the counter charged my card and completed my paperwork, THEN tells me the vehicle isnt available at the moment and we will need to wait while they track one down. Two hours after getting off the plane and an hour of sitting around, I rented one from another company. They wasted my time and Ill never use hertz again.
Lousy! My 28 year old daughter Reserved AND PAID FOR a car online and went to pick it up only to be turned away because she brought her debit card! The car was PAID FOR!!!! They refused to accept the debit card and said she needed a credit card. They already charged her credit card over $150 for the rental then refused to let her take the car. What the hell???? Worst customer service ever. NEVER WILL THIS FAMILY USE HERTZ AGAIN FOR OUR RENTAL CAR NEEDS!
After 3 rentals at this location, I have not had a problem. Everyone has been really helpful. My only complaint is that this location is far away from everything else and makes it a lot harder to get to. Coming from Lake Merritt, if I take public transportation, it takes almost 2 hours to get there.
Almost new Hyundai suffered mechanical breakdown. Hertz had no replacement cars available anywhere in downtown SF, and wouldnt bring replacement car to location of breakdown. I had to get a friend to drive me back to Oakland Airport for a replacement car and waited almost an hour while desk agent was on hold trying to verify that the original vehicle had been picked up and towed by Hertz.
Car was ready but the reserved car seats were not in the vehicle. This is consistently my experience when renting at OAK. I dont expect them to be installed, but they should be in the car. I rent regularly from OAK and the car seats have only ever been inside the car once.
There were ants on the ground where I placed my bag. I reserved a car, but they didnt have what I reserved so I had to drive a different car, which I wouldnt have minded if I didnt have to spend more money on gas because of it. If I fly back into Oakland, I might go back, or I might try somewhere else.
Really wish I could give 4.5 stars. Had an overall fantastic experience that was almost a TERRIBLE one because of a single employee. If you ever find yourself here and you get directed to an old dude with glazed over eyes by the name of Cikade or something, youll know who I mean, just wait. He very well may have been doped up the way he moved like a sloth, couldnt speak up, had trouble doing literally anything without calling for assistance, and was overall completely unhelpful. Maybe theres a job out there for him, but its not this one. Fortunately the two wonderful women also working there, Elisa and Alicia, came to the rescue and saved the day. Elisa and Alicia are beyond helpful, friendly, and simply do good work. Thanks you two!
Very efficient return staffAnd service minded beyond what you could expectWas helpful in directing us to correct problems during the rentalThe final bill matched the agreement completelyWhen we were done we was guided to the shuttle bus - just to complete the service and always with the required tasks in mind
Absolutely Terrible Customer Service. THEY TREAT ANYONE YOUNGER THAN 40 AS IF WE ARE AUTOMATICALLY CRIMINALS AND UP TO NO GOOD. WILL DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING TO KEEP US FROM RENTING I SWEAR. I AM A GOLD MEMBER WITH A ACCT IN PERFECT STANDINGS, ALL AND EVERY PIECE OF VERIFICATION DOCUMENTS AND DOCUMENTATION ASKED FROM AROUND THE WORLD, ALL LINKED TO MY GOLD ACCOUNT AND YET STILL THROW ME THRU HOOPS AND LATTERS JUST TO ULTIMATELY SCREW ME AND TURN ME AWAY
I will recommend anyone that want a good survice to go to Oakland hertz and see rona the best customer service. Ive ever seen plus they have everything there any modell from high end cars truck to anything a person need I love you guys thanks for everything Im very happy thank you again
The car was dirty when we picked it up and there was candy on the front seats and under the seats.Upon return there was no organization. Multiple cars returning, multiple return lanes and one employee. Others were getting checked out who came after us until we flagged down the hertz employee.

2022-01-07I got helped on my reservation by Herman Brown on Christmas Day of 2021. It would be very difficult to find a person who was more helpful than Herman on our rental procedure. We arrived late at night, Herman was waiting for us to make sure we get our car. He was very methodical with all the procedure, helped us get a good car which lasted us through one of our most memorable vacations. He even went the extra mile and helped us get car seat, which we had forgotten to carry with us. He worked past his closing hours to ensure that all was well with our car and got us out the door in the best possible manner. A big thank you to Herman Brown, he is a great guy. Highly recommend this location.

2022-03-17If I was not a previous customer of Hertz, the experience here could have been the last interaction between me and Hertz. The reception associate did not pay attention to the line and me waiting in line and decided to solve two other customers who just showed up at the counter and in response to me (which I just had a question since I already had my reservation and everything else sorted out), said, go back wait in the line!!!Also as a good member I should have been able to pick the car I want in the gold area, but the associate said NO, you have a compact and Id you want to leave with what you picked, then there would be an additional $20/day!!!!!Never had such a bad experience with Hertz in the past. However the return was smooth and the associate was very courteous and helpful.

2022-03-25🚫 Horrible service. Theyre so arrogant and it took us 1h and 20 minutes to get out of there with the already rented car!The platform says something and the employees correct you in such a bad mood

2022-02-20This place is absolutely terrible.Cars were overbooked so we were forced to wait an hour for our car (despite booking it for 3 hours earlier). They asked me to select an insurance option without quoting the prices - I had to ask 3 times. They also had no idea which car we were going to get (despite me pre-paying for a particular type of car) and therefore couldn’t actually tell me how much the insurance was going to be, and I wasn’t able to wait until the car was confirmed before making a decision. So I had to sign up there and then for a particular level of insurance and I have no idea how much it is going to cost. The staff stood there laughing at us and tried to tell us we were getting a good deal.Don’t book from here. You can get a better deal from a budget car hire company and the service couldn’t possibly be any worse.Update - the only redeeming factor was a guy by the name of Mr. Brown. After FURTHER issues with our car not actually being in the yard after it was assigned, Mr Brown immediately upgraded our car and set us on our way within minutes. They guy needs a raise

2022-05-24Had a stem to stern wonderful experience with Hertz. Definitely saved us a lot of time on the margins and was a lot less hassle than any other company that weve worked with overall. Also the car was brand new and in tip top shape. Will definitely be using them for our further adventures.

2021-12-18I travel all over the country and rent 30+ times a year and this has to be the most inconvenient and bizarre place to rent from even with my Express status. The clerk had me go through a whole gambit of steps including what my inbound and outbound flights are, plus a soft credit check...really? Then after all of that they had everyone waiting 20-30minutes so they could clean cars. There are definitely much better Hertz/Thrifty/Dollar locations than this one. Next time I come to Oakland car rental facility Ill definitely go with Enterprise or Alamo.

2022-05-01Front desk lady was awful, didn’t recognize my presidents circle status and forced me to take gold when I arrived at the counter. She seemed like a robot basically repeating the same thing over again and forcing me out the door. This would have been a 1 star review if I had not met Debra!Fortunately I was able to speak with Debra outside at the car lot, and she was a complete Angel and saved my trip. She double checked my hertz profile and confirmed I was presidents circle, immediately took action and made it right.I felt like she genuinely cared about her customers! Thank you Debra!

2021-07-21THANK YOU VERY MUCH MR.HERMAN BROWN!!! So I am not a last minute person… I originally booked a car rental with Budget Rental in Oakland Airport 2 months before our Arrival… It was a late arrival, which I called to make sure they were going to be open and they promised me they going to be there… Well my wife and I arrive to the Car Rental Location and Budget Rentals is closed… No one in sight… 9:50PM on a Friday, and we still had to drive 3 hours south to Visit my Wife’s Grandmother…Hertz Rental was the only one open… The line was pretty long… I jumped in line… Mr. Herman Brown was the person in the counter who took care of me… I told him the story and he luckily found me a car to rent for the 8 days I had originally booked with Budget Rentals. Thanks again Mr. Herman Brown!!! Hertz won my business from now on!!!Budget Rentals can kick rocks from now on!!!

2022-05-18Counter staff: although there were no queue and no one behind us, the lady who checked us in was very rude and unhelpful. She spoke very few words and gave the impression that we were a burden. She didn’t provide what we consider to be essential information. E.g. she didn’t tell us that we had to mark down scratches or issues on the slip that she provided. (We’ve travelled from Europe where some car rental companies pre mark the slip of damages for you). This we discovered when we were about to leave and was told that we had to mark down all damages and had to do it in a rush.Car: We got a free upgrade to a car where it seems like the master key had been lost. We got a single metal key, that opens the driver side door, ONLY. There were no beeper key. That quickly proved to be a nuisance, although we are only two people travelling. The boot could only be opened from the driver seat. Each time we had to get something we would run several loops around the car. Thanks Hertz for getting our hertz rate up.Have complained formally without satisfactory resolution.

2022-05-24DO NOT rent from this place. I spent an hour trying to get a refund on a fuel charge when I returned the car with a full tank. Smh. These companies take but when giving money back they are going to take 5 to 10 days. Times are hard and Hertz is playing games. No thanks. After response: Hertz, your response speaks about your service. And how people arent paying attention. Im in Oakland not Orlando!
