I forgot to take pictures of this place. These are the only near pics i have. I only slept there 2 nights but I was happy to have a fridge and a microwave which I didn’t use but it was there🤷🏻♀️We had coffee, room service upon request, it was also near the bay with many restaurants and the #purisimacreektrail. You can see the bay from the window and eatery were within walking distance. I would come back. The service was also personable ☺️
Charged me $175 for having a dog, WHICH WE DIDNT HAVE A DOG.Celebrating my fathers memorial, WHY WOULD I BRING A DOG TO THAT. Hungry for money, said they have proof and photos? Called back and said they didn’t have it, such a joke.Tina was unprofessional and disrespectful, laughed at me over the phone. Wrongfully charged.Do not stay here unless you want to be taken advantage of.
So I really was disappointed in this hotel. My family stayed for 3 nights 4 days and we had a great time fishing and spending time on the beach. We never had room service because we just cleaned up everything on our on. I have 4 kids so it just is easy plus im not really comfortable with anyone coming in and out of our room. Plus the woman two doors down had two large dog in her room and they (room srevice)were mopping the floors with towels that were filled with urine. So we just cleaned up behind ourselves literally. Took our garbage out sweeping the floor ect. We used a couple towels at the beach and on our last night my two year old son got sick from something he ate and threw up so I used the beach towels to clean it up. I rinsed them and did my best to get the to clean the towels up.(Bare with me I know this is a long review) So we check out and the next day I was charged $118.00 for two towels and a bed sheet. That they said was too dirty to use again. I get it I could understand $50-$60 but $118???? I just really hope the new towels they bought with my $118 are worth this review. Btw the young lady at the front desk looked like she was bored and hated her job. I wish I was informed before I checked out. Otherwise Halfmoon bay was great to us.
Over priced for motel 6 quality of a room. Carpets were stained. Wallpaper was dirty. Old pop corn ceilings. Cobb webs in the corners. Couldnt see out the windows very well (moisture in between double pain windows), bathroom vanity being supported by an old water stained piece of wood. The room was right next to the ice machine. All night long the ice machine kept cycling making this terrible noise that kept me awake. Also, heavy traffic noise most of the time. .
Completely overpriced motel. I had to book this motel due to the wildfires in Santa Rosa and the price was completely unreasonable but I did not have many options. After I returned to my home and was able reflect, I checked the room prices and realized that I was charged a rate completely out of line with all other dates. I rang the motel to complain ( I also complained the morning of checkout but was not in the state of mind to debate) and the response I got was too bad. Dont get me wrong, I have no problem paying a fair rate for a decent motel but the motel room was shabby, dirty bathroom and a pathetic breakfast from a fridge in the hotel lobby. Whats incredibly interesting is that many people seem to have had the same experience but only the good reviews make the hotel website page. Do not get ripped off, there are plenty other hotels in the area which are much better
Nice place. Rooms clean and very big. House keepers. Very nice. Onley thing i did not like. Is me my husband had. Late check out at 12pm. And office staff new this. And at 12:02 they were knocking at our door. We already were pack to walk out the door. And we always use this hotel. At least 3 times in a month. Due to work. That was the down side. Of this hotel.
We have stayed here before and really enjoyed it, but our stay on the Fourth of July was a horrible experience. Just spoke to the lady in the office about charges on our card and apparently they charge you if you get SAND on the towels.!!! Sand on the towels?? You are right across from the beach and sand washes out. So disappointed. BEWARE they don’t even change the pillow cases or sheets, ours had shoe marks on them like they had been walked on and then place on the bed. They should really fire that new girl they hired who is very rude and charges you for nothing! Management get a clue! You just lost a repeat customer because we get a room every time we go to El Granada Beach. OTHER hotels actually try to accommodate you not have attitude and hang up on you like that foolish girl. People SAVE your money and book at one of the many other hotels in half moon bay so they don’t charge you a bunch of money for things you didn’t damage once you leave. This hotel is not the same as before, it’s very run down and has ghetto staff now.
The staff here is dishonest and made no attempt to remedy the situation. I called in to ask about the pet policy and was told my rate would be $79.99 plus tax, however, when I arrived I was suprised with a $30 pet fee and told the only room that was pet friendly was on the ground floor. When I pressed the matter the receptionist suggested it was my fault for not specifically asking if there was a pet fee. Apparently Hello, are you pet friendly and what are your rates is not good enough to warrant being notified of the rate. The furniture in the rooms appears dated, and not in a cool vintage way, rather, in a bed sagging spring in your back kind of way. All in all I am very disappointed in this motel. Yes for the price its not terrible, but a dishonest staff is intolerable, especially when it results in surprise expenses. If I had not provided my credit as guarantee upon booking I would not have checked in.
Filthy I cleaned the bathroom myself the floor was black for 147.00 dollars a night wouldnt stay here again. Sheets looked like urine stains and found blood on sheets needed new bedding towels looked used. The towels were hung up instead of folded, windows didnt lock and was noisy. Terrible only had one worse experience in my life with a hotel room. Yucky
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Harbor View Inn. We had a room on the second floor that provided a nice view of the Pacific Ocean. The cathedral ceiling was nice and the bed very comfy. The bed linens were soft and fresh. We lliked the central location, which provided a good base of operations for travel between San Francisco and Carmel. The rates were reasonable for the accommodations, and I would definitely return on my next trip to the area.
It was nice relaxing and we had a great view. Busy traffic flow only cause it was during the week. But all in all it was pleasant. The heater could have been working more properly but the room had a floor heater that somehow the clerk didnt know of but the extension cord was not connected properly to the heater had a cord that was short circuiting so I unplugged it. Dont want to die. And we noticed our room had a t.v that was from the 80s small and other rooms we ran into had flat screens, so that was a drag.
I arrived at this hotel after a late cross continental flight to be welcomed with a slow response and a dirty room. I alerted the front desk attendee about the subpar condition of the bedding and she handed me pillow cases to change the bedding. It is custom for the attendee to clean the room or switch rooms. This lack of customer service and cleanliness caused me to pay an extra 300 dollars for a last minute booking.
The room was close to the harbour which was nice, but the room had a leaky shower head, so to stop the dripping sound they placed a towel in the shower. Also the ceiling in the bathroom had a mold problem. We checked in got our key but did not go to our room as it was not ready so we were not able to bring to the managers attention the problems of the room. We did call back to speak to the manager and were directed to email, which we did but the manager never responded to our concerns.
The room was so run down and uncomfortable we left early and ate the cost of the extra night in favor of getting a decent night sleep elsewhere. For the price Im still blown away how uncomfortable the bed and pillows were and how poorly the AC worked. The AC either turned off unexpectedly or made recurrent loud humming noises that were spaced out just frequently enough to allow you to slightly drift off to sleep before being woken up again. The room was also suprisingly hot and humid (considering how cold it was outside) whenever the AC would just turn off. I dont think either my husband or I got more than 3 hours of total sleep due to the conditions.
We booked a remodeled queen room via TripAdvisor, and were supposed to have a room with a fireplace and harbor view. Well, the harbor view was true enough, but the fireplace was noticeably, and regrettably absent. The room (15) wasnt luxurious by any stretch of the imagination, but it had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, and a deluxe shower in the bathroom. The continental breakfast til 10:30 was a welcome touch, and included frozen, microwaveable sausage/bacon biscuits, which were far better than the danishes youd normally get, though they had those too. We only stayed one night, but enjoyed our time at Harbor View.
The view was nice, but the room itself was average. The Inn is very close to Highway 1, so there is some road noise. There was a horn that I felt went off every few minutes, and made it difficult to fall asleep. The room was a little musty with a portable heater, the bed was not so comfortable, and the walls are very thin. It got the job done though.
We had ridden a motorcycle for several hours to arrive a little earlier than their check in time but we had a wedding to attend on the other side of San Francisco and needed to change and freshen up. The lady at the front desk told us that rooms were not yet available. We asked if we could use the restroom, which she replied they did not have a public restroom for us to use. We asked if we could leave our bags until we returned to check in and she told us that she had no place to put them. We had to find another hotel to stay in. Their cancellation policy would not allows us to cancell so we wasted the $154.00 they charged us. After 15 day trip through California from Texas, this was the only uncooperative hotel that we stayed in. She really acted as if she could care less about our needs. Sure not what we expected!!!!
What a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a motel!! My daughter paid $400 for a Saturday night??? she should have stayed at a VRBO! It is prices like these that are disgustingly expensive and promoting businesses like VRBO, Air BnB and others. She could have stayed somewhere much nicer. Your property and its employees excuses stink. We ourselves, still have property in the Bay Area and we will let it be known your motel is outrageously overpriced. Shame on you.
Bring a fan to drown out the fog horn and road noise. The thermostat didnt work right either, making the room uncomfortably hot until I cranked it all the way to the lowest it could go.Not the worst place I have stayed, but it is hard to justify the high weekend price.
Really bad agree with all the negative reviews I’ve read. Torn carpet & furniture looks like it’s donated by Salvation Army walls seriously need repainting. So bad I don’t recommend it. We took one look at it and lost the money cos non refundable and went over to Coastside inn which is $50 cheaper; I give Coastside at least 4 stars for the price of one night.
Worst hotel ever. Dirty with ripped curtains. Air cond. out and when I complained they threatened to toss me out on the street. Cont breakfast was a disgusting joke of old tired prewrapped pastries and horrible burned coffee. Overpriced Motel 6 is the ritz compared to this place and I was given the best room in the motel -my tv worked and was at least a flat screen, from the turn of the century. The window would not close and I was on 1st floor next to a high traffic area and a busy highway. They are asking for someone to break enter and rape.
No view. Small rooms but priced as if there huge! Do not recommend it. Fridge noise + Generator of some sort = crazy night no sleep. Only good thing was the shower head. Bed uncorfortable. Rotten cortains. Ripped sofa. Barely could see the harbor accros the street. Paid extra for the ocen view OMG hahaha.
Well what an odd place! We had two rooms right next to each other, and despite the fact we paid the same amount for both rooms, one was just better in every way than the other. Breakfast wasnt very good, and there is an EXTREMELY loud ice machine just outside the entrances to many of the rooms that hums constantly. Overall, not great, but Ive been in worse!
Loved it. Cozy, a roomy room. Spacious shower, full length mirror in the bathroom (for those who go all out) and great beds. The staff, wonderful and friendly, despite our worn-out travel apperance. (And if you love anime, there is a sweet lady you can converse with). The ladies in the morning were cheerful and very hardworking, (so be sure to ring the bell or be a little patient). The breakfast is good for a quick grab but good; for something more just go next door to The Press (grilled cheese and coffehouse options).Really close to the beaches, laudromat, restaurants and shops. My only request is to have pad and pen in the rooms....all mine died in the 1800 miles it took to get there.
This place WAS NOT what you see on the internet! Very dissapointed, very!! The pictures are just beautiful and lovely but reality its a LOT different!Continental breakfast? hmm, well, you can pick up coffee and pastry in their little reception desk, not even a place where you can actually seat down and enjoy your coffee.Customer service? They need to find out the meaning of the word!I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!
Beware to all! Carefully view all review sources to get a better picture of the hotel (motel) you are checking out. This one seems to have friends and family giving positive reviews when you check out the facility yourself you will see discrepancies in quality and view! Beware, beware, beware!
DO NOT BOOK WITH HARBOR VIEW INN. Alona (Manager on site) gave us poor, poor service. She not does represent what good customer service is supposed to be. Do not spend time booking with this hotel. They are rude and inconsiderate. Alona and her team were just awful to us.

2022-01-31Location was amazing. Easy walk to restaurants and the water. Great coffee shop nearby. Rooms are updated and comfortable. Nice staff. Solid place and great for a one night stay rather than slogging it back home after a full day at half moon bay

2022-06-18We so enjoyed our stay the the Inn. The restructuring room they did is like day and night compared to our stay in the past. Blue lighting at night really helps sleep and like we have been told by the sleep hygiene folks. Bed great comfort. Quick really good WiFi. Thanks

2021-12-17Really comfy room, super warm, loved the faux fire place screen. Staff were incredibly welcoming and nice. They did a really good job with the renovations, hotel rooms in los Angeles that charge three times the amount dont have any of the things they offered like a microwave, robes, slippers, mini fridge, even ear plugs. We didnt have any issues with noise. Bed was a little hard but honestly still really nice especially for the price. I love little inns like this and usually I just expect it to be clean but they thought of everything. Shower was amazing. Even though its not right on the water, which hotels will charge an extra 200 a night for, it was a great location, amazing cafe next door, gas station/liquor store across the road as well as a pizza place. Can walk to the harbor and all the restaurants. Will definitely be booking again!!

2022-05-09On our trip cross-country, this hotel room is wo a doubt the most beautifully crafted/finished/remodeled of any! In walking distance to ocean, many restaurants, small shopping area nearby. We extended our stay here.

2022-07-04Top notch, five star experience. By far the best accommodation we’ve stayed at over the last year.

2022-01-19Room was beautiful and the service was great! Really restful stay with no hiccups whatsoever! If anything, a little underpriced! The best part was the furnace!

2021-10-15Positive: Location was great. Could walk across the street to several restaurants, the beach, and the California Coastal Trail. The town of Half Moon Bay was a short drive down the highway. The room had been renovated recently, and was very nice and updated. Negative: The walls between rooms were thin. We could hear the guests next door talking, and their TV clearly. Some of the bottom rooms are also being renovated, and there was noise associated with that work. It ended before 7:30 PM each day.
