Don’t get me wrong great people but everything is slow-mo. Rentals take forever to process expect to wait more than 45minutes for a simple rental.Edit: Every time I come here their services gets worse and worse. The manager Matt is completely against me after the last incident. Guitar center y’all ready need to do something about this because I am slowly moving on. There are much better music stores like Sweetwater and PSSL that do business in a much better way.
I was looking for a good home karaoke machine and it was recommended that I purchase the Gemini Party Caster. I gave it as a Christmas gift for my wife and she is very happy with it. For such a small unit it has great sound and features. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great unit at a reasonable price.
So I used too work there for a few monts as a security guard. lets just say I was really good at saving the store lots of money via loss prevention, I Made 1 honest mistake. Staff mrmber had her unmarked chips in the community area, so I mistakenly ate them. I borrowed 3 bucks from co-worker for ride home, One day I asked a stubern customer towear her mask, after I myself and half of employees just recovred fom covid. G.M.Scott let her slide and waved me away. I replaced the chips, and the $3.000 ride money. Store Management being a wildcard painted me as a villon before undersding all of the facts and and had me removed, I asked G.M. Scott and higher level managers to meet up to speak my piece. At all level ignored....
Had a super experience buying my first electric guitar at guitar centre Pasadena. Brian helped us and he was awesome. He very patiently tuned a bunch of guitars for me to try and explained the differences. Very helpful helping me choose with no pressure. Hooked me up with a great amp too. Very happy with my purchase.
Ive been shopping at guitar center for years and they no longer seem to have a wide variety of instrument brands and models like they used to at a physical store. You can definitely find them online which is great but if you want to try an instrument out before buying, this is where you run into problems when you buy online. Not having what I need at the store causes unnecessary returns and its annoying for both my self and the store staff you have to process it and inspect the instrument to make sure its in working order before accepting it back for a refund. I really wish they offered more like Sam Ash or at least be price and financing competitive with online stores like sweet water.
My wife and I went to Guitar Center to buy a headphone set and I got an awesome deal. I want to thank Eran for all of his help and patience with us. He informed me and my wife of the current sale on the 280 Pro Headset. I really appreciate his enthusiasm, energy, and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thanks Eran for all of your help. I will definitely continue to shop at this location with service like that. Your awesome. Blessings!!!!!!!
Got to meet Local Boy, Michael Anthony, and have him sign his Signature Schecter Bass at the Pasadena location. The experience was great. The staff was excellent. The staff was, from top to bottom, friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions. Ive always purchased my equipment from GC and, hopefully, always will.
The staff are very helpful, but COVID hit their supply chain pretty hard. Difficult to try out all their gear and guitars you see online. Dylan, a manager in Pro Audio really helped me by letting me know I only needed a new cable and not a whole mixer to do what I wanted to achieve in my bedroom studio.
Lots of items on display and very impressive, but the sales people were not attentive at all, so my two friends and I walked across the street to Sam Ash which is no where near as nicely laid out (not even close!), but the sales people were much better. Once at Sam Ash one of my friends bought a guitar, and I bought a DJ controller and some other audio accessories.I would go back, but I will stop at Sam Ash first next time Im shopping for gear in the area.
Strange, only entrance is from the back in the parking lot with a security guard posted . They must be getting hit a lot. Very pushy and annoying sales reps that will ask you literally every 2 minutes if you need help. The place looks depressing and its overpriced. Thanks to Amazon, ebay and B&H, places like Guitar Center will soon probably be part of history.
Ive had much better experiences for other purchase needs. I guess some folks dont appreciate their jobs in these times or perhaps not being up to their scheduled attendance . . (?) - however percieved. Weve been long time GC customers, ever since it was located at the red brick warehouse looking location on Sunset Blvd. THAT was the place to go . . . yeah, but anyway. Have a good one & be better humans. Later -
I have grown to like this location. In the past, I did not like several of the employees here...no joke, they were really rude; read other reviews if you do not believe me. They are gone now and the staff presently seem to be very different, polite, helpful, and above all...they do not suffocate you with that typical Guitar Center Sales Associate pressure. Thank you for that. Great selection of musical equipment too...decent restrooms...THANK YOU for that, seriously.
This is the only guitar center worth going to in the la County area. Everyone is super nice! I think his name was Antonio, in the repair section was incredibly nice, explained everything about my options and made sure I got a fair deal for my setup and repair. Highly recommend.
No customer service at all went in there to buy my daughters drumsticks and a new drum stool. Its just there trying to get attention to the sales guy just passed by me and smile and walked away others were not my department the dudes at lunch I still like this throughout every guitar center no wonder theyre going under I need to change their policy God I miss Mars music
I havent been in a Guitar Center in years. I went in yesterday and I was pretty disappointed. I was looking to get a new guitar, and everything I was interested was locked in the holder and they dont allow you play anything. They didnt say why but I am guessing because of COVID19. shopping at Guitar Center is fine online, but you are wasting your time going in if you are looking for a specific guitar. Theres many other independent shops that cater to high end guitars, that will give you better service, and the prices are reasonable. You can make an appointment, and would make things sanitized, and you can play the guitars. If you havent gone to Guitar center in years, dont waste your time. They cater to a different customer. If you know what you want, use there online website. Much less frustrating using that.
Ive only been since COVID disrupted our lives, so theyre restricting the number of people they let in the store at one time. As a result you get very personalized service! You cant touch anything, so try to remember that as you wander. Evan was our super knowledgeable helper and talked microphones for our needs in our price range. Be sure to ask for him!
I always come to this store. Because the people here are very nice, helpful and very accommodating. If you want to have a good deal, go to this store and ask the manager Scott Smith or his assistant Rey or Matthew or to all the staff. They will help you to get what you want with the price you want. I recommended this guitar center store.
Although the wait in line outside sucked it was a great experience. I was shopping for a gift and associate Robert J.M helped me greatly. Not only was he very knowledgeable on the items i asked for he also gave some great recommendations. I didnt feel rush at this location. Everything was clean and sanitized. Covid guidelines are being followed.
The guitar staff is great. I just missed some variety of cheaper guitars. But the audio staff, oh my good, I asked for 2 different ppl to help me try it out some PA speakers and none of them gave me attention, they also didnt knew technically the products they were selling. Thanks to the third associate (long yellow haired dude in audio dept, great seller) I get what I was looking for.
I put a deposit over the phone , Drove & waisted 3 hours , to find out , that the used Guitar amp , that i wanted to purchase , does not have and adaptor as well as a battery cover, not to mention , it was in a very beat up condition , i asked for a discount , scott the manager did not discount the price at all , Very very disappointed , i have read other complains and reviews , with similar problems , next day i found out that they charge my visa account !
Such a disappointing experience today. I wanted to buy an acoustic guitar tonight so bad!!!! and was looking for a left handed guitar. Pasadena Guitar Center let me walk right out after I told them I was ready to spend $$$$. No one knew anything about acoustic guitars. I’ll buy direct from Fender
First time Ive been there. As a French guy who recently moved to the US, I had never experienced any American guitar store so far. And I was amazed.Lots of good instruments, at any price... Very good range of choices. The staff is welcoming and of good advice. They let me try and play 4 or 5 different guitars corresponding to what I was looking for. Open to discussion and paying attention to the customers will.I wanted a cheap one for practicing cause I left all of my guitars in France... And finally, I fell in love with this Schecter CR-6. TOTALLY happy with it and very satisfied of my visit in Guitar Center of Pasadena.I highly recommend this store for all music lovers and players!
This was my first trip to Guitar Center. The knowledge of their staff is amazing. We were there to buy guitar strings and a capo. The young man knew about all of the strings being offered. By asking a few key questions he recommended two. When advised we would like the strings to last, we had our selection. The capo went the same way. Great experience, we will return.
I recently bought a brand new guitar from another vendor (not Guitar Center) and it had a few playability issues out of the box - lots of fret buzz, the bridge radius wasnt set, the intonation was off, and so on. I took it to this store for a basic setup, and Ricardo had it ready for pickup in just a few hours. The guitar is playing great now, all you could ask for!
Please dont buy anything from Guitar Center. I recently purchased a portable PA System for $992. It took 4 cancellations, several phone calls with customer service, three pending charges to my card, my money wasnt available for 5 days, several emails with manager, complain to BBB, and a trip to Guitar Center. I finally gave up returned the speaker and bought it straight from manufacture. I recommend to the same, also do a complain to Better Business Bureau.
Very helpful staff. We came in not knowing exactly what we needed for my sons guitar hobby. They took the time to listen and show us all our options. The best is they took the time to let us hear what we were looking for sounded like which helped our decision greatly. This place is very busy but the staff would not hesitate to make sure you are taken care of. I felt very confident about my purchase here.
The great staff makes the stores what they are. Its great having knowledgable, helpful people who are musicians without affectation of superiority. More than a few times theyve offered information, suggestions, and recommendations without upselling that influenced my purchase choice with good results. The product variety in certain products lack depth, but whats available is typically very good and decently guaranteed.
I like this guitar center alot because its very familiar to me & close by but, they do lack some products most of the time. I go in for a specific thing and they are ALWAYS sold out. Its rare if I find it here but sometimes I do get lucky. Overall, they are great just need to keep better stock of products.
Pasadena Guitar Center is a great store. Well stocked, awesome selection of all things guitar related. I go there for the wide selection of used guitar pedals. They have great deals every day. They werent busy on this visit. So the customer service was excellent and my purchases were easy and fast. Ive been to at least 25 different guitar center locations from California to Nevada, Utah, and Colorado and I would say this is in the top 5 - 6 of those stores.
This was my first time attending this Guitar Center. Of course at first, everyone gets annoyed with waiting outside as it was myself and a couple other people, but actually they let you in when an associate is ready to help you which is great because you are getting personal attention 100% It was not crowded at all and the great part is that people can still try out instruments so it was nice to hear a guy twinkling on a guitar, but not that wall of sound you normally hear when you step into a Guitar Center. I was helped my Evan, I hope I remembered his name correctly. It was literally a customer/associate match made in heaven. I came in ready to order the Billie Eilish Uke and he had just heard about it five minutes before then he heard me ask about it when I walked in and he literally ran to me and said he was just going to order on for himself. It was all perfect. He handled my order beautifully, with a smile and with excitement. I got the replacement insurance, all the emails came through right away, and I just got an email tonight stating that my uke is on the way. So excited.
My experience at the Guitar Center was fantastic. I was buying my sons first guitar and the girl who helped us went out of her way to make sure he was picking the right one for him. I believe her name was Stephanie but if is not, it doesnt matter, the service was outstanding.
Incredibly rude and unknowledgeable employees. In fact, one had lied about a product over the phone, claiming the instrument is in “perfect condition”. Not only were the electronics broken, the neck had a screw stuck in the next pocket; they were willing to give me a “generous” 10% discount though! All other instruments were in poor condition, customers were often scoffed at, and other employees were on their phones.Best to avoid this place!
Excellent service, Cheyenne was knowledgable, and above all really patient with us, never rushed us, and helped us find the perfect guitar that suits our needs and budget. Highly recommended and we will be back!Their COVID social distancing and sanitation were also of a high standard, for those who are wondering.
Perfectly passable music gear retailer. Its a bit of a shame how the management above the shop level has made their salespeople work on commission. There are definitely hard-shell tactics in operation, and I often get the impression that employees would much rather be working somewhere else. Also, I dont need to give my phone number when I just want to purchase guitar strings. Please dont make a point of trying to attach it to every sale.Selection is good.
Its a great and complete music center. They let you try and feel free to decide. The staff who helped us was very helpful and friendly. The only thing is the displays. They should consider lowering down the promo item by the entrance so the people can take a look at it closely. Provide enough cables for all trial display.
Guitar Center is full of competent cheery employees but their organization is hampered by FBI-imposed business restrictions. I wanted to buy a particular used guitar for a project shooting next week, but they were required by the FBI to hold it until the 12th in case it had been stolen. The guy who helped us through the store was awesome, but we left having failed, and will now buy from amazon prime.
First off let me explain that every Guitar Center store is different. This store has a good selection of the newest keyboard/dj high end pro audio equipment, although much of it is way overpriced! Most of the stuff they sell is cheap stuff for beginners. If you are just starting out, you can get some great deals. I got burned selling them my used equipment! Next time, now i know they pay you more for complete junk than real professional equipment. This store has been good to me in the past when fixing a problem on something that i purchased online and it was heavily damaged in shipping. Other times, i couldnt find anyone to help me when i was looking to buy high priced items. That or the worker didnt know enough about pro audio or guitars to know what i was talking about..
In my opinion Guitar Center stores in general are declining and becoming the big box store of music goods. I understand that the business has changed over the years but the days of unique gear are gone. This store has an enormous amount of low end stuff and has a few mid range stuffs. The other day was my first visit in probably two years and they have changed the store and omitted their high end room that used to contain a few rare, unique, custom and vintage guitars and amps. Otherwise the service was good and selection is decent. Some sales guys didnt know too much about guitars and the gear they carry. The good thing about this store is that their preowned section is decent. I was at the West Covina store yesterday and that store is really weak all around for new and used gear.If you want to see more gear, unique gear, the stuff that has personality to it then go to the Hollywood or Sherman Oaks store. The Hollywood store is an experience of its own with the Rock Walk and amazing vintage room.
I think Guitar Center sucks now. Theyre getting worse and worse by the day. You cant bargain with them you cant barter with them. Everything is marked up way l too high. Even on the used equipment you try to knock down tell him ask him to just eat the tax, they wont even do that. when you try to get someone to help you theyre running around worrying about their little $10 commission because I heard that sometimes people work there can work a month without even getting paid a dollar, so whoever owns Guitar Center now is a super greedy person. Its not a fun place to shop anymore. They dont seem to care they sell stuff thats broken and damaged a lot of the basses is up on the wall the electronics are broken and they dont even work. They tried to sell speaker cabinets that the speakers are blown and theyre all damaged and they dont even care. They just want to make money and get it out of there they dont care about the customers. 90 percent cheap Chinese or Indonesian garbage.
I came in to have a violin re-strung and their man in the repair department, Ricardo, did it within the 4 hours it was there. With the way things are its actually harder then you would think to find a place that will work on violins, and the Guitar Center in Pasadena did an excellent job with it.
This guitar center always seems short staffed and employees seem to be more empowered by leadership.Price check? Question? Want to see something behind the glass? Gonna take you at least 15 mins in my experience. Always try to come in before 3 and even still I run into silly delays.Besides that, the staff is awesome, love these guys just wish they had more help and a manager to trust them with the keys lol.
Unbelievable what they list/let out the door in Good condition. Guitar Centers definition of Good condition is This product is completely functional and shows some signs of use. It may have surface scratches and/or dings and dents. I ordered a 1975 Martin D 35 from this store, went to pick it up and was floored at what I saw. Other guitarists were there and also could not believe it. Finish cracks, thats fine, dents and dings, cool. EVERY fret down to the 12th a hair away from being into the ebony is NOT fine and NOT Good condition. The frets were destroyed. I was forced to return the guitar rather than spend more money on an already expensive allegedly Good condition guitar. I called the store and spoke to Scott ( He said he was the manager) who was apathetic and less than helpful. I think I may be done with Guitar Center.
Came here to get my fender telecaster strings fixed after I took them to a mom and pop shop which they never did a good job. When I brought my guitar to the repair shop, Ricardo did an amazing job of fixing my strings! Quick and fast! He also let me know that I needed new strings. Ricardo went above expectations. Highly recommend to anyone who needs anything fixed to take it here to the guitar center in pasadena. 👍🏽👍🏽
I came in to get my daughters guitar tuned up and was so amazed at the extra customer service I received. I admit that the more info I got,the more questions I had and he answered them thoroughly and with a smile. I didnt feel rushed or made to feel stupid for asking questions. I recommend going to guitar center for your needs.
Consistently awful service, understaffed, the people working there dont know what their products are or do. The range of products for anything other than guitars is also severely lacking. Its a good place to try equipment, but buy it online to save your money and time.
I came in to buy a couple sets of guitar strings and but wound up sitting down to play for a couple minutes. I noticed there was a sale going on and when I saw the prices of amplifiers I started to seriously consider buying one. I politely asked a salesperson in the accessories dept for a pick and he reacted like I annoyed him!Anyways, after about 10 min or so, I decided to buy. I had to walk around the store multiple times, visiting each department asking for an associate to ring me up. I was told by someone in acoustics to wait at the register in guitars and hed be right over. I did so and saw the initial salesperson who was rude to me not doing anything! He saw me standing there at the register, product in hand and ready to go and STILL didnt come over and say/do anything. So, the other salesperson finally comes over..feeling annoyed+upset I avoid anything besides strings - ONLY reason being the hassle of driving from Monrovia.Apologies for length. Hopefully this doesnt happen to anyone else!
5 stars for Evan. Super helpful, patient, attentive, a real bummer to drag him into this. (Dillon is great too, nothing against these guys)1 stars for not being able to use my Traktor S2 when I got home as the serial number has already been used.In fairness, this unit was open-box, which means someone else had purchased and then returned it. I checked the physical wear of the unit, seemed fine. Knowing full well how difficult it is to get ahold of NI, I took the chance that the previous owner had not used the serial, rookie mistake.Of course, the serial had been used. That being said, the customer should not have to deal with hunting down another serial, right?- infinity stars for NI. Nothing new here, but how long will it take for me to get my new serial, perhaps 3 weeks, which is longer than my return window at GC. You can tell I am in a weird, and totally unnecessary, pickle.- 1 star guitar center corporate. Called them to see if there was an extra traktor 3 software serial lying around(at corporate HQ). Believe it or not, they did not have one. Crazy lack of business to business relations here, almost embarrassing.- What I am likely going to do: Purchase a Traktor S4, take serial number, and return Traktor S4 (perhaps even all in store). Super lame of me to do for the next customer, but this shouldnt be my problem. I purchased a used unit (somewhat of a favor on my part), that I cannot use....Or I might just return everything. Either way, will likely not give GC my business in the future ever again. Traktor is available for same price at Amazon, as well as the cables I purchased.- What GC could do to make this better. Call me, give me a serial number from the S4 box. Saves GC staff time, saves me time, no driving(eco friendly), etc... Do this and I will change my review to 5 stars, promise! I was in earlier today, spoke with both Evan and Dillon, my phone number starts with 530, Im sure its in your system.
Fairly good inventory for what this big box music retailer represents, a compromise in stocking what will sell in the face of Internet competition. Entrance is NOT on Colorado Blvd; you must go around to the parking lot in the back. Staff are hit or miss in being able to help some times but all are there because of their interest in music more than just another retail job. If in a hurry for a particular item, call ahead to make sure they have it in stock. I hope they survive but the challenges they face between small niche independent stores with more personal service and Web sales with unlimited inventory at good prices makes their survival questionable long term.
While not as large as some of the other stores Ive been to, it makes up for it in inventory. Same low prices and wide array of merchandise. The thing that standed out the most for me were the associates. Really nice friendly people that went out of their way to help and answer any questions I had .
I ordered some guitar strings that they didnt have in stock, with the intention of having my guitar repaired when i picked them up. When I took my guitar to thier repair section and a really nice staff member heard me out and then said the technition would take care of me. I was half-way through explaining to her what the guitar needed and she had and another guy come up just to tell me there wasnt anything they could do for my guitar other than re-stringing it. Not sure if thier repair staff were under qualified or if they just werent up to take on the task, but I was under the impression that they had a full repair service and I was willing to pay. I felt I was politely cut-off without having offered me a solution. It was disappointing.
I just wanted to buy a giant sized road case. They told me over the phone that they had one in stock, but when I came down there, they didnt have it. The staff acted like they had no idea what I was talking about, the guy over the phone gave me a fake name, because when I asked for him it turned out that no one by that name worked there. No one wanted to help me, they just hid from me in the back. Or ran off on an early lunch break, at 10:45 am.If you dont want to help me, just say so. Im taking my money and my business elsewhere.
This guitar center went through a remodeling. The drum section is open air and you can hear it throughout the store. The acoustic guitar section has been halved and shares a corridor now. Otherwise the store is comparable to other Guitar Centers in terms of selection. The registers at check out were a little congested, but it was also Father’s Day weekend. Shred on, pops.
Customer service is good but for some reason the wait always annoy me in this store, it takes forever to check out an item , their system is very slow ...rather purchase online and pick up in store. Worst part for me was, the agents are sometimes not knowledgeable at all about the products... I wanted to buy a speaker but that day no one was able to plug it so I can test it prior to buying it... they asked to come back the following day at the hours the only agent who knew how to do it would be there... very disappointed... it honestly was a waste of my time to even go there...
I had to return a Telecaster which I purchased before Christmas. The return policy was 45 days. I was past due & I guess I just lost track of time .Nothing wrong with the guitar, just couldnt bond with this one.I contacted the manager Scott & explained my delemia. Scott, told meNo problem, just pick out another guitar & pay the difference, if any.I returned my guitar the same day only to deal with another Manager, Dan,Again, No problem pick out another guitar or we will give you a full credit.I was lucky & found another Telecaster that fit me just fine! Thanks !
It took me almost an hour to wait for someone who can get me a Ukulele. Theres only one salesman in the guitar area. He has to take customer in orders. And they dont have original case for the Ukelele I bought and they dont have a suitable case that fits mine the one I chose.
Ive been attending this Guitar Center on and off for about 10 years and it is always the same problem with customer service and that basically is lack of attention and lack of any follow-through. The guitar repair and maintenance department is great if I can rate that alone it would be five stars
I went for strings but its the only place that will let me pick up and , play, and fantasize about owning a $3200 Les Paul or $1800 Gretch hollow bodySlapped my fantacy Fender Jazz bass. Hate to say it because I love small private shops but they rarely let me touch. Thanks Guitar Center
A great place with something for everyone. Even if you do not like music or do not play an instrument and even if you do not want to take lessons everyone loves this place. If you do not then you are going to have to be beaten. So get in their right now. Also they do not sell Stereo sound systems.BUT I USED ONLY products I purchased from guitar center to build the best surround sound system ever made And the best full duplex multi room speaker phone ever made.So get in there now. If you have trouble with dandy lions in your yard or with in-laws going to guitar center will fix all these issues.
I dont know about all the bad reviews. I myself have never had a bad experience at this guitar center. They even gave me a military discount although they dont have an established discount for military ontop of on the spot coupons for $100 off. Guitar center is like a gun shop come in with a positive attitude and even knowledgable customers will give you input and recommendations.
Prices seemed to be good but I walked around the store playing different instruments for almost an hour without anyone, not one associate or employee even asking me if I needed help. They just missed out on some $. However the gentlemen that greets people at the door seemed pleasant.
To the one above who said the are poor sales people on commission, and dont have time to be pleasant.......SORRY.......Ive spent tons of money there and the customer service is still WAY below pa Everyone seems lazy and disinterested. Not like commission sales/starving people at allSherman oaks has a guy who used to get you real deals, he is a prince of a man (NOT the manager, who once told me my original duet wasnt worth $20 bucks...I sold it to Hollywood later that day for $200) but another guy, black, flashy forget his name, but until he was handcuffed by their new brass, that guy would have me leaving with extra purchases every time. Now that was a sales man! He found out what I wanted and found me a way to get it, he was working like his life depended on it, but always relaxed and with a smile.
Never returning here. I go to various guitar centers. Hollywood, cerritos, west los angeles and even visited the Boston guitar center. This one had the worst customer service out of all. Ive never experienced this from a guitar center before. Even the hollywood store when its super busy, they still help you. I was shunned by 2 different employees at this Pasadena location. I guess they didnt want my $627 that I spent at a different Guitar Center (Cerritos).
Park in back. Great place. Someone is always jamming out on a guitar I could never afford and skills I could never dream to achieve but always pumps me up to look for the cheapest option to get me started. I find my zen in the acoustic section. Found an amazing uke on sale for over $20 off. Loved it there. Would come back.
First off let me say you get treated they way you hold yourself when you come in. if you go in with a bad attitude it turns people away. please go in with patience. these sales people are under over the top requirements set by the corporate office and not know if they will work there next month. i only price match and never grind on the price. these people are on a pure commission structure from the 70s. every penny you ask off comes out of their pocket and most guys there are making minimum wage. as the the gentleman talking bad about big ben, that was 3 years ago with a 3rd party repair company that was allowed in the store and not regulated by guitar center. that company no longer does repair work with guitar center and guitar center has their own repair center with a staff they interview. justin is the lead tech and very funny!...google has the address wrong its 2660 e colorado, next to the chase bank and entrance is in the rear. be that nice customer that makes their day and good things will happen for you
HORRIBLE SERVICE. I ordered a hard shell bass case on Nov. 7th and was told it would be relieved in 3-4 days and that I would get an email when it was there. When 5 days past I called the store and asked for an update and all they said was “it’s not here sorry it slow around the holidays”. I NEEDED it before the 17th mind you. On Nov. 15th I WENT TO THE STORE and asked this blonde girl with glasses about my order and she said she was going to ask some guy named Michael. She kept me waiting for A HALF HOUR. All I saw her doing was walking around not asking anyone. I just left. A week after I called customer service and he check and told me THAT MY ORDER HAS BEEN THERE SINCE NOV. 10TH. After calling all of a sudden I got the email saying is was there. I needed it on the 17th and I didn’t have it and no one knew what the hell was going on
I already vented to someone about my frustrations with this place earlier. Oddly enough I vented to the only dude who is willing to take the time to say hi can I help you?. Im gonna use the same example I gave him too. You could walk into this place, pretend to be blind as a bat with your service dog in one hand and walking stick in the other, and still nobody would take the time to ask if you need help or point you in the right direction. I also said I wasnt gonna yelp it cuz Im just really not that guy, but Googles just making it so easy.
(Pasadena Store) Liars. I took in an item in Excellent condition, zero blemishes. I understand, half who read this will say yeah right thats what they all say. Normally Id be one of those. And, yes I get that they are there to make money. But they dont have to lie to your face about it. They claimed they sell the item for half of what a certain music chain store was selling their only used one currently in inventory was selling for. Which also might be understandable, if they werent the store selling it for almost double what they claimed theyd sell it for. Its not an inventory thing or undesirable product either. According to them it is a top seller. Im not sure if you can trust that coming from them. However no GC within 50 miles had used it in stock. On their website the item was in stock 2 weeks prior & then out of stck 1 week before, the next week GC had one half way across the country, for almost twice what they claimed they would be selling it for. The funniest part was I never even inquired about what theyd be selling it for. If I sold it, they can do what they like, sell it for a billion I dont care, it would be theirs to do as they like. Bottom line is Id rather wait and sell it to someone that would use it, for the same amount as their lowball offer than sell to liars trying to scam on unsuspecting customers. However i do my homework and know what is and isnt right when selling to resell places, they are no better than a pawn shop, which dome people claim they are. Tge claim of 60% of what they sell it for is, in this case, also false. Yes, i could have countered their offer as well, maybe even got what i was looking for on it. But why reward liars? They can conduct their business however they want its theirs, but for me and hopefully others with a bit of backbone more people will walk out the door, and send the message, lowball all you want, dont lie to people. In my opinion they are the walmart if the music world. They move in drop their prices with their buying power, knock out the small music places, then jack their prices up and drop theyre service. Never again will i step into that stain on music.
I wanted to buy a Pedaltrain pedal board and asked an employee about a particular size and he said hed go look in the back and he disappeared for 2 hours. No one ever came out and told me anything so I left. I then went to the Mesa Store in Hollywood and they were amazing. They even helped me save a ton of money. I dont just want to complain about bad service, I want to help people find good service. So if youre looking for an Electric guitar check out Graysons Tune Town in Montrose, if youre looking for Acoustic guitars check out Fretted Frog in Pasadena, if youre looking for pedals check the Mesa store in Hollywood. All of these stores have great selection, good prices, and amazing service!
When in there to return a used instrument and some guy just told me if you dont have the receipt we cant give you a refund when I had already been told that I could by another employee on the phone. He apologizes and says oh sorry I thought our policy was different . Their employees dont even know their own policy SMH
Alright pull up a chair... As, happy as I always am at Cerritos GC, I was amazed at what a complete 180 Pasadenas GC is.I spent about 45 minutes (as opposed to 2 hours in Cerritos) in this place completely ready to spend money. No one asked if I needed help, said hi nor even acknowledged I was there at all. Even when I want an acoustic guitar trying one after the other and then another. Four (different) employees walked past Me in the acoustic room like I wasnt even there. On My way out noticed a Marshall head I was interested in, even going so far as to pull it out from under another amp, checking the price and attempting to get anyones attention.. again, nothing.Unfortunately theres no lower rating than 1 star. I wouldnt buy a single guitar pick from them.I will be going back to Cerritos where Scott, Todd, Miguel and pretty much Everyone treats You right.Hope this helps anyone looking for an instrument, accessory or good customer service.
AWFUL customer service. Great variety, but the customer service is excessively slow and the workers are very unfriendly.I went in to purchase a bass guitar and even though I found a suitable guitar that was moderately priced. The customer service was so horrible, that I left the store empty handed.
Guitar Center was great strike back apparel that I bought get fit up to my expectations so I traded it and I went up greeted two more powerful unit mxr the carbon copy Deluxe analog delay with the Echoplex and Whispering unit with one Loop and two Loop and a double ecosystem well thats what I went there for they had what I needed cost a pretty penny but I got what I wanted hey my keyboards are happy thanks a lot Guitar Center Yours Truly Sonny Rico better recognize !
They told me that they were taking down my address just for the record and would not add it to their mailing list. They lied to me and put me on their mailing list. I know it is a G.C. gimmick because it happened in two different stores. One in Virginia and this one. Another one is the salesman sweating to get you the best price. Another one is sending you personal E-mail letting you know it is just to thank you for visiting and to be of help. NO. It is so that they can set up a pathway to SPAM you.Ok, they arent bad people, just full of gimmicks and disrespectful of our privacy.
There was a time when Guitar Center was a terrible place, filled with snotty salesmen, who didnt know much about the product or really give a flying %&^$ about learning. That time has come and gone. My last experience at the guitar center in pasadena was actually pretty good. Perhaps they have been beaten into submission by web sales, but I spoke with sales people in more than one department and they were mostly knowledgable and helpful, without pressuring me to buy right then and there. Special recognition to the guy (shouldve gotten his name) at the guitar repair desk who gave me a couple of springs for my strat trem arm; No Charge! They have even removed the frisk you as you leave security station at the door, which hopefully has not cost them much in term of five finger discounts, but I always found it to be offensive. Ill return, and especially since they will try to match internet prices, I WILL BUY STUFF THERE!
Regarding Josh: Like others say, when you go into guitar center, tune the sales people out. I was working with Josh and asked him for his expertise on a couple products. Pretty knowledgeable guy. When I told him I was going to purchase the Les Paul Studio I had been playing, he straight up tried to pawn the floor-model on me! Lol. I asked him if he had one in stock...and got one of the most comical sales lies ever! Ha ha. He said, Im pretty sure we just pulled this out of the box a few days ago. We keep the guitars on the floor because its more humid than in the back. I almost died from laughter. I thought maybe if it was in good condition Id get him to knock $100 off. I took a look at the guitar and there were belt scratches everywhere and two very noticeable punctures/dents with paint missing. I put the guitar down and walked out. Dude, you just missed out on a $1500 sale with all of the other stuff I was going to buy that day.Good job Josh, youre a douche. FYI...Im in sales too. Thats why I found you comical.
ABOUT THE GEAR: They have everything a person who plays guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, sings, DJs, or produces could want. To me, the presence of all that music equipment makes for an exciting atmosphere.ABOUT THE EMPLOYEES: Ive never come across an employee who wasnt very knowledgable about his or her (usually his) specialty. Some are overly concerned with getting as much money out of you as possible while others seems to really value your interests with music a lot more than if you buy anything.

2022-04-28I have been shopping at guitar center for a long time and have had very good experiences with many of the store I purchase equipment from. The customer service at the riverside store is poor to say the least. I placed an order for a power speaker at the Pasadena store for pickup at the Riverside store due to Pasadena being sold out of the equipment. The employee from Pasadena, Evan, was very helpful and called the Riverside store, had them check and see if they had a new speaker in box, and told them to put it aside as he was going to place a pickup order right now and the customer would be coming from Pasadena to pick it up (2 hour drive with traffic). I received the confirmation email stating it was in stock and would be a curbside pickup.I drove the 2 hours to riverside and they sold the speaker to someone else 20 minutes before I got there and tried to offer a beat up floor model in place of what I ordered and paid for. I asked to speak with the manager (I believe his name was Tyler) and he didn’t show any sense of caring about the situation. He offered no solutions such as ordering it and giving free overnight or transferring it to another store that may have had it in stock. The only solution he offered was I could take the floor model at the same price or I could order it and wait the 3–5 business days which I couldn’t do because I needed it this weekend. I would not have been upset if he offered solutions that worked but he offered nothing but “sorry man.”I cancelled the order and called corporate who stated that the store put in the cancellation and stated that I didn’t want the open box, but nothing about selling the one I bought. Poor customer service all around. I would drive to the Pasadena store as the customer service there is way better. I called them back and both the associates there confirmed that they should have pulled it off the floor.

2021-09-07Solid selection, I was here mostly interested in their pre-owned amps. There is a spot in the back for bluegrass instruments with wood paneling all around; really nice interior. I wish Id captured more pictures because its quite massive.

2022-04-24Great, knowledgeable service! I love that music people really work here and understand the musical landscape :) Although I spent more than I intended, it was a great investment for my home studio set up. Evan was a great help and made some awesome suggestions that I incorporated after my purchase. 5 star customer service!

2022-03-18Poor customer service. Guitar center does not refund lessons charges even with ample notice. Now I am out $250 despite giving over one week of notice. The only reason I had to cancel was because of my fluctuating work schedule. Dont do business with Guitar Center. Staff is rude and does not genuinely have the customers best interest in mind.

2022-03-18Guitar Center stole my money! They charged me for lessons way in advance and did not want to give a refund even with a notice of over a week before the lesson. The staff acts nice to get your business, but becomes rude as soon as you do something as simple as asking for your own money back for services they didnt provide. Stay away from this place!

2022-06-26I sort a lot of money here just to come find out a month later that the item I bought which I had not opened it a month later do to being gone did not work and basically Guitar center said I’m out of luck and the money. And I was told when you buy things from there it’s a 50/50 change of something being wrong with their products. Lesson of the day shop at Sweetwater
