To be honest, I don’t even know how this hotel can have good reviews.- The room was dirty,- No soundproofing at all (I could clearly hear conversation from the adjacent room aven with my earplugs!!!)- No breakfast- I tried to call the front desk many times without any answer- The bed was not at all confortable- Some electrical switch where broken so I could see (and touch!) the electrical contacts (really not secure).I really believe this hotel (more a motel) bought good reviews online and on Hotels.com. For the price, please go somewhere else and save you the trouble of having the worst night you could imagine.
I travel alot and at time with my child and ill say these Rooms are clean a big beds were clean. Had a weird smell in the room when arriving we chose to stay here a couple of days, few hundred bucks and sadly not worth it . the pool was dirty so cant swim, no breakfast and 5$ extra to park in the parking lot in front of the room. The webpage had alll these added amenities but that was not the case. We will not be staying here after this
Terrible. If I were staying at a cheap motel I wouldn’t complain, but being charged over $300 for one night in this place was unacceptable. The room smelled terrible, like someone had peed in the AC unit. The bathtub had mold all around the rim, the ceiling was falling down, the floor was coming up, and it was missing not one but two towel bars. The piece de resistance had to be the bug infestation, leading to a bunch of little flies flying in and around the sink. Also, I’m pretty sure someone simply ripped out the smoke alarm as it was just hanging from the ceiling without any indicator light on. Furthermore, we were promised an early check-in, but when we arrived we were made to wait an extra 30 min past the normal check-in time because “the staff wasn’t done cleaning yet,” which makes me wonder how dirty the place must have been before we got there. We would have left except for the fact that we had a wedding to get to, and with the late check-in, we had to hustle as we only had 30 minutes to get ready instead of the hour we should have had. I should have trusted all the other bad reviews and will definitely not be returning here again, and will actively warn others away from here in the future.
0/5 stars. This place should realistically be a pay-by-the-hour motel. We stayed here with a big family group, so technically a good price for all of us but in retrospect it’s still too expensive for what it is. Our room had to be changed twice, once because the room smelled like musty cigarettes, then again because our door stopped working. When we were switched to the third room (which smelled as bad as the first one), they didn’t change it in the system and they gave that room to someone else, deactivated our room card, then someone walked in on me. My sister’s room started leaking from the ceiling and so she actually cut her stay in Pasadena short so she didn’t have to stay an extra night there. My cousin’s room had a broken heater in it and so switched rooms as well and the new room had a cockroach in it. You will play musical rooms here, and each room will have it’s own horror to share.
Positive: The location was the only good thing about this motel. It is not a hotel. Negative: The room was damaged, had paint peeling from the ceiling, broken light fixtures, stained blanket, a missing smoke alarm covered in duct tape, etc. The man that checked me in was quite unfriendly and did not tell me that there was service fee.
If I can give less than a 1 star, I would. NY sister and myself were referred by Wyndham to Green Tree in March. The outside of the building was nice, but the inside was disgusting. Everytime we complained, they sent us to a new room, but the room did not get better. The first room there was a smell when you entered the night stand was broken, and the walls were dirty. The second room the toilet did not flush well, the bathroom had mold in the showers, there was chipped paint everywhere, and the shade did not work. The third bedroom had water stains all over the ceiling, the phone did not work, there were stains on the bedsheets, mold in the shower, chip paint, and dirty walls again. I tried calling the manager Kamran Khan the phone number to call Green Tree Inn did not work. I had to call reservations. Mr. Khan told me he was going to refund me over $120, but he did not. He said he put in on some AMX card that does not belong to me. I tried to email and call Mr. Khan and he has not got back to me. This Inn and the staff is just terrible. There was one employee who rolled his eyes when we told him our problems. I told another employee and she was the sweetest person who tried to help her name was Celeste, but still nothing could be done. Its May and nothing has been resolved.
I really liked the dust on the closet, because I matched great with the dust in the blower. Additionally they tested my electrician skills because there were no light switches on one side of the bed and I had to twist some cables to get the light on. But be careful you might get griddled. But the highlight, the cherry on the cake, was the breakfast. It got easier day by day to decide which breakfast item youd like to take. It went from the broad variety of five to two items. But luckily the frozen burrito was always offered. Even luckier you werent forced to eat it. All in all its a great place to stay if you wanna explore pasadena and los angeles
They charge $5 dollars for underground parking plus $5.75 extra per night. So, you’re going to pay $10.75 extra plus their night price depending where you made your reservation. Breakfast was ridiculous, a paper bag with a muffin, granola bar and mini microwaveable burrito.Lady at front desk during night shift was very nice and helpful, room was clean and mattress is pretty comfortable.
This place is in a great location, close to great food, grocery stores like whole foods Trader Joes. A brisk walk to the exciting and vibrant Old Town Pasadena. Unfortunately location is the only thing going for this establishment. Our reservation was for a room with 2 queen beds, they gave us one king room. When we addressed it to the front desk and asked for the room we reserved the guy at the front desk couldnt find our reservation. We showed him proof of our reservation for a room with 2 queen beds and yet he stood his ground and made no attempt to accommodate our original reservation. We ended up with a rollout bed, paying full price for the room, and they were out of pillows so we had to make a run to target to buy pillows and pillow cases. The hallway door was held open not by a door stop but by an empty crushed water bottle. The carpets in the hallways were extremely soiled and full of stains. The room had a musky odor, a noisy mini fridge that woke us up every time it turned on. If the front desk would have been more considerate I would have given this place 1.5 stars if possible. I highly recommend not staying here. Location is not everything.
If I could give 0 reviews I would. I stayed here with my extended family for a funeral. There were cockroaches, dirty rooms, poop in one of the toilets when we first checked in, and horrible customer service. We have stayed here before and had a wonderful experience, which is the reason why we came back. Unfortunately things have really gone south for this place. Unbelievable.
My husband and I had a mini escape here. The room was decent but had noticeable issues like the plastic around the fire alarm and the tv coloring off. the bed was amazing and very comfy. Also the shampoo and conditioner where out. Overall for the closeness to old town it was great pricing.
We stayed in room 204, there are cigarette burn marks in the left nightstand drawer. The AC unit can’t be used because it smells like someone sat by it and smoked into it. This is a non smoking room btw. The ‘breakfast’ was a tiny frozen burrito (not cooked). Constant sounds of sirens and ambulances. If I could rate this hotel zero stars I would. The bed sheets had a weird smell to them.
Not a very good experience. My partner and I checked in, and we were given a room where the toilet was leaking, and staff had not cleared out someones dirty pants from the drawer. We were then moved to another room, where the comforter was noticeably dirty and the sink was clogged. Luckily, we were able to check out the next morning and only be charged for the one night despite booking for four nights. Overall, Im not booking again.
PICTURES ARE NOT WHAT YOU GET!FALSE ADVERSTING!EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT U GET!DONT STAY HERE!If YOU want cleanliness. They only spot clean, an have shampoo soap bottles that you just hope they cleaned.Smelled like they never air out rooms, one of our rooms didnt have a TV, Microwave, refrigerator as stated, an the front desk had no idea why, maid service even said they told them about the room. Dont be fooled by pictures, only thing that looks good is the floors. They did offer to comp one of our rooms, luckly they had another room, the front desk gentleman was just an employee so in his defense he had no idea about this room. He was very nice.Only NICE thing,Maid service was extremely nice & helpful! My 89 yr. old dads rooms TV didnt work well, an no grab bars in showersThe breakfast is in a lunch bag they give you, they should just not have it!Towels r cheap & rough!Last nite stay there were some sketchy peeps hanging around the parking lot.Parking is okAgain, for what they charge for this hotel should be what they say it is on their website.
The worst hotel experience in town!!!Even Holliday express has better service than this place!!The guy in front desk so stuck up!! They treat you like you don’t belong here!!I brought my team to town and this place was an option to come( we thought we will be like VIP)There is a lot of fees that don’t make sense for such a poor quality!!!The breakfast is a joke!! I bet the homeless people get better food than the expired food this people give you!!Parking is awful, and good luck calling asking for something or help!!I STRONGLY ADVISE TO LOOK ANOTHER PLACE INSTEAD Of HERE !!They only 2 good things here is that the people that clean is super nice and helpful and that the rooms look pretty cool ! Other than that STAY AWAY!!
At first glance the room does look quite nice. It’s in a nice neighborhood and it’s quiet as well. The underground parking was great for me personally not sure why there was paid parking on the main lot which is of course above. Front desk folks and the cleaning staff were very nice and follow Covid guidelines which is a super plus it means they care about their guests. They have a very handy luggage cart as well and an elevator. Bed is super comfy to lay in.Here is where my issues lie. As I said at first glance the room does look nice however there seemed to be no sign of proper cleaning. There were some webs in the corners of the bathroom that I had to get rid of. Gnats were there as well. There were also ants. I’m sure the room had been cleaned before we got there but how long before I’m not sure. The towels were clean but they had stains on them. I was able to get more but they also had stains. Also the towels and wash cloths were pretty rough and the kind I’d expect at a very cheap motel somewhere in maybe middle Kansas…no diss to KS though. We also noticed some very random red splatter stains on various surfaces that could be literally anything. My suggestions:-double check the rooms prior to check in and make sure there are no bug issues-invest in better feeling towels and washcloths-make sure to clean the corners of the rooms in the ceiling area-improve the look of towels and such because stains should not be on towels for guests. Could be an issue with the machines-check drains as well and clean throughly because a drain is where gnats will live and if not properly taken care of will cause discomfort.-install window screens that are darker so that people walking by don’t just stare into your roomHope this helps
Not the way you want to stay in downtown Pasadena. Rooms not cleaned by check-in time, and clean? Well check the pictures. Run down, sinks dont flow, toilet backs up. Stayed in 2019 and the place was pretty nice. Definitely not being taken care of. Maybe new owner?? Cant believe they would rent a room in this condition. Live and learn.
The experience here at the green tree was definitely one of the old hotel built in the 50s and renovated recently to look more modern and update. My first impression upon opening my room was how large the room was. The second oppression was how the slope of the floor ran off to one side. However the spaciousness of the room had me pleasantly surprised on price was very budget-friendly. Obviously newly remodeled floor ceilings walls bathroom closets ceilings and TV. Parking was a little difficult to park as the parking lot lines were a little close together to accommodate more cars. The hotel is off the beaten path so youre not sound beaten with traffic. Very simple amenities, looks like they have but good handle and proud of their property. Imitation ivy lined the gate surrounding the pool. Very good location to downtown Pasadena, and old Pasadena. Walking distance to the local malls and various restaurants. I love the ability to walk without having to find parking for the car. At least 30 restaurants within walking distance 10 to 15 minutes away. I would recommend this hotel. I will definitely be returning .
Positive: Location is good, near the Old Town and restaurants Negative: We have stayed here a number of times. Maybe it¿s because of Covid, but it was not good this time. We had to move our room due to broken tv and then the second room had a bad leak. The breakfast room was shut down and room service was only by request
The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I stayed here over a month ago and have still not gotten my deposit back, when I called the hotel to ask what was happening they guy on the phone was extremely rude, talked over me the entire time, tried to explain to me how deposits worked as if I was in the second grade, refused to help me, said they never charged the deposit after confirming the card number I paid the deposit with. To this day I have not received my deposit back. Do not stay here youll be scammed and treated awful.
Comfortable mattresses slept very nicely- the best. Except in early morning you can really hear the breakfast carts roll down the balconies and wake you up. Rooms are very clean with updated decor. Parking is free but limited. They have some additional underground parking though.
Not very satisfied for the following reasons:- hair by the sink- blood on the quilt- noisy AC that won’t stop even at low temp- extra service fee charged at check in (not mentioned during online booking- bad breakfast- diluted shampoo- free (leftover) beers in fridgeps. I do like the microwave though
The best hotel stay I had during my entire California trip. The front desk attendant was so personable and made sure my stay was the best. The bed was absolutely amazing! I slept so good. I appreciated the security team who made me feel safe. When I go back to California, this will be my hotel choice! Thank you for the best rest!
The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The location was within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The employees were very polite and courteous. Danny was excellent! He was very professional and accommodating and made sure we were very comfortable. We had to change our room the second day of our stay and Danny made it very easy. I would not hesitate to stay there again and would definitely recommend this Hotel!
Great hotel , lovely staff . 2nd visit here , room are cleaned exceptionally. The breakfast is basic but tasty ,and a great young lady to help you. Unfortunately only downside no change room for late flights or chance to keep one room , unless you wish to pay full price . After 10 days that was the only disappointment bit.
Good stay here, the staff was friendly and the rooms are quite large for what you pay for them. Everything is clean and a large fridge is provided, along with a microwave. The breakfast left much to be desired, however that is mostly true of food in this country so I do not attribute that to the hotel directly.Vending machines on property unfortunately did not accept cards, and some of the laundry services which they had (which is a very nice touch) did not accept card either. All in all the stay was pleasant, and even though not remarkable, it is worth taking a look at if in the area.
NOT up to COVID standards!!! We came back to our room and our room key was not working. The Night Person tried to open our door but it still didnt work. We were put in another room without our belongings. The next morning, I called the Front Desk to ask them to open our room door, but the Night Person probably notified Maintenance to fix the sensor. Noise from the guests next door was nonstop disturbing our sleep. You can hear people walking by your room. The walls and linen were stained and dirty. The bath tub had mildew growing. The TV remote did not work which meant you could not change the channel and there was a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. Housekeeping knocked on our door to give us breakfast when we did not ask for it. Being that were staying here during covid, it was NOT up to standards. The hotel was bought out, but needs to be fully remodeled. Other than the friendly staff and location of the place, its not worth it to stay here.
I was pleased with the price and it was nice to have breakfast delivered, but we did have some issues on the house keeping side. Upon entering the room we took out shoes off and started to out stuff away. About 10 minutes later we sat on the bed and I noticed the bottom of my husbands feet were dirty and black st the bottom, so I checked mine as well, they were pretty dirty. Luckily we carry around disinfectant wipes everywhere we go, so we went around the room with the wipes underneath our feet to give it a good wipe down. It was pretty black by the time were done, but I still felt uneasy about it. Besides that, parking was horrible. It was hard to find parking especially we had a truck which does not fit in the underground parking. The parking should be monitored so that they can ensure that only customers are parking and not public. The two nights we stayed there, there was alot of activity going on in the parking lot and was very noisey which made it challengingto sleep. Management did not do anything about it. Probably wont becoming back here again.
The first impression in the lobby was great. Staff was helpful despite my very late arrival, and I got to the room in less than 5 minutes. However, while the room is large and the bed is comfortable, it stank like plastic and as if no one ever opened the windows there.About 15 minutes of running the A/C fixed the problem partially, but I had trouble sleeping all night anyway. On a positive note, the furniture is modern, youll find plenty of charging ports, great shower head and water pressure. I saw a nice pool outside, as well.Tomorrow, Ill try the breakfast and update the review.
Decent for the price. It felt safe and comfortable, location is great not being too far from Colorado, and the rooms were average enough. There are a lot of cons, but its what gets you a lower price. No fitness room, the pool is right in the middle of a parking lot, the breakfast is subpar, and worst of all, its the noisiest place Ive ever stayed in. Especially on the first floor. The walls dont block any noise and I hear every little thing that happens in the parking lot, including all of the construction that occurs from 7 am to 8 pm. The car directly outside my window attempted to start its engine for three straight minutes around 6 am and Im sure everyone heard every bit of that. I wish I brought ear plugs. Next time Ill pay a little more for a nicer hotel. Also, every single day I put the do not disturb sign up and dont want my room cleaned, but during the day the sign blows off and I get service anyway. Please fix this.
Decor is recent and the room has a lot of potential to be quite nice, but some of the smaller details are off putting. TV is recent and fairly large. Bathroom is modern, but could be cleaner (dirty corners and some loose paper pieces on floor) and also doesnt have hand soap. Hard to say if their regular continental breakfast because they have a simplified breakfast delivered during covid-19. Also, window was jammed. On a positive note, the WiFi is decent. I was able to use my vpn (you should always use a vpn on public WiFi or dont bother using public WiFi at all) and connect to a zoom meeting over the WiFi and it ran well for the most part.
TL:DR Good value, would stay again despite minor annoyances. Pros: Rooms are recently updated and clean. Location is good. Prices are much better than some of the other nearby hotels. Parking is free. Very walkable area with lots of good food options. Neutral: Breakfast is limited, but included. Instant oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, pastries. Coffee and tea. Cons: The door is hard to close. Toilet runs if you dont manually return the handle to starting position. Wall thermostat doesnt seem to be connected to the below window AC unit. The controls on the unit itself work fine.
Stayed here when I was attending a conference at the Convention Center. Nice, clean room that had been recently remodeled, comfortable bed. Great location within 10-min walking distance of many shops and restaurants. It is an older motel and most of the rooms face the parking lot, so there can be some noise issues, but my room was well maintained and overall it was a nice place to stay.
Lock out of the room since 9:30pm- till 5:30am the next day. Dont book this hotel, it may be cheap, but the building is old and their customer service are not responsible, especially the general manager Camron Kahn.Greentree Pasadena hotel was the hotel that kept on giving… giving problems that is. We check in to our room at 3pm, and the room was already showing signs of issue. First the room smelled like it hasnt been aired out for months. Whic can be true with Covid19, but hotels have do deodorizing machine to clear the air. Second, no hangers, additional towels (besides 2 towels), hair dryer and tv remote in the room. I dont want to sound greedy, but if we paid for these things, we should already have it. We finally got all the items, but the TV wasnt working. Apparently the cable box was out. After the receptionist and my husband unplugged and click a few things, we got the TV working.9:30pm We return from dinner to notice we were lock out of the room. We went to the front desk to ask for replacement keys, thinking our key have been de-magnetized. We received new keys, try again to open our door, and still the door did not open. Went back to the front desk, which the receptionist came out trying to open the door. He then calls the manager Camron Kahn. He gave every excuse in the book to tell us why were lock out instead of how he was going to fix the situation. He called a lock smith to come out and get the door open. The lock smith wont arrive till 11pm. They place us in another room to wait.11pm Lock smith arrives and states will take an hour to open the doors. We check back in a 12am, lock smith says 30 more mins, check back in at 12:30am, will be another hour.1:30am lock smith leaves and we are still not in our room. No one at the hotel called us to inform us. My husband calls the front desk and ask what is happening. Apparently they need to call the lock company to come open the door. But they do not open till 8am.It is now 3:30am. We havent slept, were in evening attire, my husband needs his breathing machine to sleep at night. Our car keys are in the room, so we cant go anywhere or get anything to hold us over the next day.Its now 5:30am the general manager Camron Kahn finally arrives and pops the door open. We finally grab out things, slept at this trash hotel for a few hours and left. This has been a disaster. Ruined our entire mini vacation. The general manager called us again to apologize, but instead made light of the situation, like this was to big deal. If you cant manage a hotel, maybe you should find a different career. We did get our full refund. Thats the only thing positive from this situation. Never again.
The room was clean and newly renovated. Ask for the 1st floor, it has a much bigger and brighter bathroom compared to the 2nd floor, which has a very small bathroom with only 1 dim light. However, the air conditioning is very noisy in both rooms, and I will stay away from the breakfast.
The Inn itself is decent. Looks like a typical motel with a new paint job. The bed was comfortable but maybe a little too soft. Parking is not great but that can be said for anything in the area. If youre coming back from a late event, theres a good chance youll have to park on the street around the corner. The breakfast was a little weak but the coffee was alright. The patio that they have the breakfast on leaves a lot to be desired. Despite those things, the staff is friendly and the pool is clean. I would stay here again.
I stayed here for four days and three nights. It was newly renovated and beautiful inside. Good free breakfast! There were some issues with how loud you could hear cars outside at night and in the morning. Also, in our room there was no smoke detector. The wires we hanging out without the detector. Free parking and there were plenty of restaurants and stores nearby.
Overall a pretty decent place. This is a good location with decent highway access. I also like that the rooms have been recently updated. The Continental breakfast is also really pretty good. My only complaint is that the AC units in the rooms could be updated, and the wifi could be faster
I decided to stay in Green tree inn because of the good reviews but on my first night I felt uncomfortable. Not sure if because of Covid19 they have a lot of people that looked homeless and mentally disturbed staying in the property. The rooms are clean and staff are very nice, but on my 2nd night I wanted to exit that place asap. I even had to ask to be changed to another room because I really did not feel safe on the floor that I was. Very sad that unfortunately the staff cant control who can stay there because the place and neighborhood is very lovely. But it seems that the management or owners had to install people from some kind of government program to stay living in the property because I saw a lot of government supervisor going in the certain rooms and providing food and check up on some of the people living in the rooms. Nothing wrong with helping people but if the property is going to have half of the rooms with people living in it, its better not to let customers that are coming out of town to stay there and charging them full price for a place that does not look safe. Very disappointed my first time visiting Pasadena but next time I go I will just pay more money and stay in a Hotel were I will feel safe.
Room was nice and clearly recently redone with a nice modern look. My room had lamenent wood floors throughout, but honestly I kind of wish it had carpet, as it made it feel a little cold and sterile. All wood floors should at least have a rug or something. Location was great, staff were good, didnt try the breakfast so cant comment on that.
Good price for the room. Its about a half mile from The Rose Nightclub. The room was clean and comfortable. Had a decent hot breakfast of eggs, omeletts, buscuits and gravy, self made waffles, sausages, pastries, bagels, coffee and any juice you could want for breakfast.
We were allowed to check-in at noon when my girlfriend was released from her surgery.Staff was friendly and very helpful. There was security on site.We were 2 older women who felt safe at all times.Pricing is accessibleAccommodations are clean and comfortableI recommend this place highly
Stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend and what a perfect place to be! Plenty of shops and places to eat close by. And right by the convention center. Honestly all of Pasadena was amazing and clean. But this was a perfect hotel for a couple night stay. Rooms were super fancy and clean and stocked. Front desk staff was friendly. They had a soda machine which came in handy! Loved this place and can’t wait to stay again.
Horrible experience ever, rooms were clean and front desk was very nice, but the people who were staying There are very weird. i been asked by one lady to let my daughter take a pics to her in the 3rd floor. i honestly felt really uncomfortable in this place, i left right away
Friendly, genuine front desk personnel. Very thin walls. Noisy clientele around the room. Busy/noisy street complete with sirens throughout the night. Missed complimentary breakfast because it ended at 9:30 (early for me on a Sunday). Nice, clean room with comfy bed. Overall, acceptable and average for the ~$60 price we were charged.
Nice place. I stayed there for about a week. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pretty well upkept, though the building was a tad older. The stay was great, though there was lots of noise one night. The continental breakfast was really bad, though. It just had like cereal, yogurt, and beverages, not much else. Other than that, it was a pretty decent inn in a nice area.
Great room and service! Rate was amazing considering you have so much food in walking distance and ample parking. I would have been paying at least $40 more a night nearby for a lesser room. My only complaint is the wifi was bad. Slow and disconnected every few hours. I would stay here again, even with the wifi issues but itd be perfect if they could fix it.
On September 6, 2020, we found BEDBUGS in room 209. Wprse, we were NOT given a refund or even a complimentary one night stay. They just offered us a different room. So after checking the room (206) thoroughly, we agreed to stay. Next day we spoke to the manager. He REFUSED to compensate us in ANY way!!!
My stay was excellent. There price was right, the rooms were clean and the location is great. While some employees seemed a bit disinterested, one front desk host was exceptionally helpful, especially considering all of the needy guests requesting early check-in and directions to the Rose Bowl Stadium. I will stay here again if Im heading back to Pasadena in the future.
Over $100 a night but in a location with restaurants and college students. Closest to Art Center College of Design campus. Advertised online because it is a good place for travelers to take the Metro. Quick accommodations, small laundry room, and friendly staff. Motel has three floors, easy access, small parking lot. Room was clean, AC machine wasnt broken, top floor, working tv, working fridge, and clean shower room.
First, let me say that we would not hesitate to go back there again. Why only three stars, you ask?One of our rooms was not made up when we entered it.They use a really strong cleaning agent that made us have to air the room out every morning. Both bedside outlets did not work and, after saying someone would look at them, still not working. The bathroom door has a really annoying creak when it slooooooooooowly, swung closed.Showerhead sprayed everywhere.Coffee pot did not work.At the end of the day, the location was great, staff was friendly, and the room was otherwise comfortable and clean, so if you get a good deal, have no fear.
This little gem looks unassuming but it is nicely updated modern inside. The rooms where spacious. Large bathroom and shower. The prices during our stay in February was $80 night and the parking lot was full if cars. Great location in Pasadena near lots of restaurants and shops in walking distance.
3 Stars seems low but it’s really because it’s missing a fitness room to bring it up to 4 stars and then I only reserve 5 stars for exceptional service. This place is great otherwise and it’s everything you need for a business trip. Clean, sleek, and modern interior design in the rooms.
Fine overall. Good location near the centre of Pasadena and convenient to numerous restaurants. Rooms are a good size and clean, although the decor is a bit dated and dark. Pool is an ok size but not somewhere to spend the day at. Some renovation and building work was going on at the time of stay (July 2017). Might stay again if staying in the locality.
Beware!! Booked this room hoping it would be closer to the courthouse then the super 8. This hotel was awful and much worse than the Super 8. There was no one at the front desk when i arrived and took 10 to 15 minutes until someone showed up to check me in. The lobby was dirty and looked to not have been cleaned in awhile. I went to my room to leave my luggage in it to be able to go and eat but the lock was broken and i didnt even need to use my key. I went back down stairs to tell the desk clerk and the clerk simply told me it was nothing to worry about. I decide to blow it off since i was hungry and go try the thai food restaurant which was awful and not worth the price you have to pay. The room itself was a closet with a sink in the bedroom separate from the bath. The floor were linoleum flooring that hadnt been cleaned in well ever it looked like. The deadbolt did work so i was able to sleep but there was no water pressure in the shower or hot water it was like lukewarm water. Spend the money and go to the farther away hotel or just save your money and go to the Super 8.
The stay at this hotel was awesome. For the price that I paid it was honestly awesome and calm. However, their was two guys at front desk who were so high, I dont know what they smoked but they were so high to the point where I was worried for my life. I went to ask for help twice and this guys responded in a way that seemed like they didnt really care. Because they were high, it was very evident in their eyes and the next evening it also happened found the guys high and I decided to check out. They made me uncomfortable. But its nice place to stay and very cheap.
Its kinda expensive but I will say that the staff is friendly and I didnt have a dirty room. As for the breakfast I did not try since I slept in. It has a underground parking soon as you turn in so watch out for that, but they have a small pool which is nice. It dosent look like its too bad of an area and there are several shops next to it. Like a bevmo if you wanna grab some drinks. Possibly staying again in the future.
Price for me was $99 from Travelocity but you could get it cheaper by booking direct through the hotel website (figured that out afterward)Pros: The Staff is excellent at the front desk for check in and check...they do a great jobCons: (no particular order)1. No soap in room (had to call down for that) and shower wash cloth hanger not in shower (Staff brought it up when I called-which was great)2. Shower head does not swivel and water pressure in shower is unable to be lowered3. TV- blue vertical line running down TV indicating its broken since its older4. Breakfast....THE worst Ive ever had - frozen burrito from pack of 20 from store and an apple which was bigger than the burrito even. P.S. burrito dries out in the microwave when heated up5. Noise - youll have plenty of street noise/lot noise and walkway noise permeating your zzzz attempts6. Might see a drug deal going down in the parking area like I did when I arrived; but since Im from the hood; no biggie for me (they plan on charging for parking so that should dissipate soon)All in all, an alright budget place to stay in Pasadena during a pandemic
Service and location were great. Close to the convention center. Had some black ants in the shower and sink area, as well as in the breakfast area. Not alot of ants and we told them, they said they would take care of it. Also, there is quite a bit of starch used on towels and blankets.
This hotel had the firmest bed Ive ever slept on. It was very difficult to fall asleep. I thought maybe it was just me, but night two was just as bad. The price of the hotel was reasonable, but would spring for an extra 20% more next time for the hilton or sheraton level of comfort.
I have been regular yo this place, but the last two times that have asked me if I would like breakfast in the morning, which I said yes then I was asked for the time so I set the time. Happen that breakfast was never deliver. one is fine but second!!? Please dont ask for something then dont provide it. It mess up my morning plans
We were unloading our belongings to room on 2nd floor. Minivan was parked right in front of stairs and room was like 5 steps from stairs so I had no problem with this but manager saw us from other side of complex and came to say that there is an elevator. We didnt need it anyway but it was nice. Good location if you want to look at LA top sights because everything is located between hotel and Santa Monica. 15 min walk to downtown with cinema and restaurants.P. S.They have good free wifi, some useful info about walk of fame and other sights at reception. We booked it less then 24 before thanksgiving weekend and price still was really good.
Thin walls and people were kind of loud over night, where sounds from parking lot were easily heard into room and every night there was some kind of disturbance present. Other than that breakfast was great but if I could do it all over again I would have stayed elsewhere. Or maybe hire a security guard to have some sort of presence there so people know how to conduct themselves (Current 4*rating is misleading)
Our room was small and out dated. We got into the room and the room had ants crawling around. We turned on the air conditioner which ran fine until we turned it down then there was a burning smell that wouldnt go away.I smoke and noticed that there were ash trays placed around outside, which is great. In the morning I went outside and started to smoke. A lady in another room came outside and started to yell at me about the smoke coming into her room, so I moved away from her room. I suggest that the hotel designate an area for smokers that will not bother other guests.I will not stay at this hotel again
Stayed here for the HackADay SuperCon in Nov. 2018 and it was great! When I reserved 5 months in advance, it came out cheaper than AirBNB and, unlike AirBNB, hotels generally dont cancel your reservation 2 weeks before the SuperCon!As a bonus, this hotel came with a puzzle to solve if you want to plug your media stick into the TV. My hotel came with a generic remote that didnt allow for the TV source to be changed, so I looked all over for any buttons, I saw none on this tv. So after exploring other methods, I observed the small IR receiver slightly protruding from the lower right-hand corner of the bottom surface of the screen, and hidden in plain sight, exists one, beautiful, singular little button that brings up the TVs menu, which then allows you to change the source.
While Im liking the renovations, the noise and guests are still allowed to make it it uncomfortable for others. Since ive checked in a large group have gathered to be a loud and drunken disturbance, and nothing has been done, and the fro t desk never got back to me. It has continue to accelerate to a higher volume. This is what a motor inn gets you, even in Pasadena, California. Immature adults behaving like teens.
Dont let the photos online fool you. We went June 2016. I think for $200/night, you would not be sleeping on what felt like newspaper. The sheets were stiff and noisy. Very uncomfortable. They used flat sheets instead of fitted, because of this, the sheets moved and I was laying on the bare mattress more than once. They say you get free cable. Well, we tried the tv and we did have three channels, the Spanish sports channel xs 3. We called to report it and the receptionist said they can fix it Monday when the maintanence crew gets there. Well, being it was Saturday and we were leaving on Sunday, we were stuck. The staff was pretty nice though, everything else... not so much 😕😞
Nice location. a little bit expensive considering hotels facilities, but still attractive. 1 minute walk from houston and dots cup cake, 2 minute walk frome Del Mar station ( which means there are several nice restaurants near by), 3 minutes walk from whole foods, 5 minutes walk from trader joes and budget.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS DISGUSTING ESTABLISHMENT we were in our room for less then an hour and discovered bed bugs and then the man at the desk was unhelpful and rude and provided no room or compensation THIS HOTEL IS NOTORIOUSLY DIRTY after reading these reviews and seeing the reactions of staff this is NOT the FIRST TIME THEYVE HAD BED BUG INFESTATION DISGUSTING we have pictures and videos
Im here to take a test for law school and one of the employees harassed me, calling my room and my cell phone and knocking on my door. I told him Im not from here, Im just here for school and needed to study not go out and party. Last thing Im looking for is a date! I slept with the ironing board against the door to be safe and unplugged my phone. Then today I stepped outside into wet paint on the floor and the painters yelled at me saying it was expensive and would only be 30 minutes. I guess the money I paid to stay here doesnt matter. I yelled back. How am I supposed to eat? Ridiculous. Next time I will pay more money to stay somewhere where the tv works and I can call someone to fix it without the worry of the staff. To update, I spoke with the manager and thought it was taken care of, nope! I shouldve moved hotels because the guy showed up again! I never expected the extra stress on top of such an important time in my life and am debating calling the police at this point but I need sleep for tomorrow!!
You are looking for a huge room to sleep, where realy helpfull employees make your stay awesome and a great manager is looking after your best? You are at the right place! And this place is also the best opportunity to reach every place in LA where you want to go 👍👍👍👍👍
Everything went smoothly, but I called a day before asking if I could check-in early and he gave me a little attitude and told me to call back the next day, a few hours prior to check in. All in all it was fine.I ended up calling at 10am and then again at noon and checked in by 12:30pm. Checking out the next day was smooth. I dropped off the keys and left.
The GreaTree Inn is well located for anyone travelling through LA on their way to Las Vegas, as it sits on the other side of downtown from the airport. The rooms are clean and functional but are incredibly noisy, from the air con and the toilet cistern filling up ( you cam also hear this noise from your neighbors).

2022-06-16Your employees were very nice and your hotel is in a great location. I fully enjoyed my stay after I cleaned the room. I went to target by cleaning materials as well as wash cloths. I borrowed a broom from one of the housekeeping crew. Towels and linens were dingy and looked as though they needed to be washed with bleach. I took the sheets off the bed and there were hair and dirt on the mattress cover. The light over the sink did not work either. Had the hotel been clean Ive would have had an A1 experience.

2022-04-10Spacious, clean rooms. Comfortable beds. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. One example, the parking lot was full on a busy weekend and the guy at the front desk came out and moved his car to give us a spot. Good breakfast, clean pool.

2022-04-03Price and location are the only good things I can say about this place. Ironically enough the front desk person said at check in as long as you dont trash the room youll get the deposit back. After walking into the room I immediately took pictures because someone before me should definitely have not gotten theirs back. Broken wardrobe door, broken toilet paper holder, missing wall pictures, cigarette burn on the headboard in a non-smoking room, broken toilet seat, toilet loose from the floor (like a rocking chair), dirty walls (there was a dirty handprint over the toilet), ironing board but no iron. The TV, mini fridge, coffee maker, blackout shade, and AC all worked. The grab and go breakfast has become kind of standard for many hotels during COVID-19. I understand that there is a five day cleaning policy, but the room hadnt been cleaned before we got there. I think a five day cleaning schedule is a poor practice though. We had one tiny can for all our garbage (we used a brown paper bag after it filled up). We had to ask for an extra roll of toilet paper since there was just one when we arrived. I would have honestly gotten a different hotel, but we arrived around midnight. I decided to stay for the remainder of our stay since it was our first vacation in two years, and I didnt want to spend it looking for acceptable accommodations. I definitely wont be a return customer.

2022-01-24Horrible place to have to stay. While we were were grateful for a comfortable bed, the overall stay was most unpleasant. Black long hair all over the floor, cabinet doors falling off the hinges, no blow dryer as the description in their ad said. We stayed there 3 days and not once was the room serviced. Also the breakfast was measly at best.

2022-01-090/5. AWFUL, I’m not sure why this hospitality “business” is even allowed to stay open with how awful it truly is. The Pasadena Green Tree Inn is disgusting. All the employees are rude including management and cleaning staff. The rooms are truly awful! The rooms walls, bedding, towels, and furniture have random stains. The rooms also has cockroaches coming out of the shower drainage system, with an ac/heater unit that leaks water. Overall an awful experience, please do not stay here definitely not worth the money. Clearly the place needs to be shut down. As for the executive chief officer Alex Xu, general manager, regional director (Robert Adler) and the GreenTree hospitality group as a whole I suggest instead of giving me the usual generated response for issues that this Inn clearly has I hope that you can try to fix them as soon as possible! Please, and thank you. -J

2022-01-26Pretty bad.. I stayed here 4 times over the past year (shouldve quit after the second time but I liked the location). First stay, no issue, but my room was under a staircase next to housekeeping which was noisy. Second stay, had to switch rooms because of weird smell and broken blackout blinds. While I was out I got a panicked call from my husband because housekeeping was trying to kick him out- apparently they thought we had checked out? Banging on door and yelling at him etc. No explanation and barely an apology. Third time, no issue. The fourth and last time I stayed here was comically bad. I got in at 10:30pm after a 6 hour drive and was told by the woman at the front desk that I was the last person of the night and shed see if she could find me a room (I had a reservation so that was a bit unsettling). First room I was given was uncleaned. Second room I was given was uncleaned. Lots of going up and down the elevator with my suitcase. The woman at check in volunteered to go make sure the third room was actually cleaned. It technically WAS cleaned, but I think it was under repair or shouldve been out of order? Parts of the ceiling vent were on the bathroom counter along with a huge puddle of water and a random light bulb. I was exhausted and just wanted to pass out, so I wiped up the water, got ready for bed, and turned off the light to sleep. The overhead light started strobing and finally turned off just as Id gotten dressed to go tell the front desk. I then noticed there was no blackout roller-blind, just a sheet thumbtacked over the window. In the morning when I woke up, I wondered why my feet were wet and realized there was water squishing up through the floor, probably from the sink puddle situation. Overall- most things are broken, management is super disorganized, and the bag breakfast isnt worth eating.

2022-01-09The room was large, and everything worked. The price was good for the area. Our room was quiet. On the down side it took a very long time for the water to get hot, the bag breakfast had to be picked up WAY to early, we never made it intime, and the ice maker didnt work. these were relatively minor complaints considering.

2022-02-08This place had a good reputation but it’s undeserved now. From start to finish a total disappointment. We requested a ground floor room. Upon check-in the desk clerk was surly, uncommunicative and handed us a key envelope with a 2nd floor room. No ground floor available he grunted. What if we wait? No. So we parked in the dark underground parking and accessed the elevator via a dirty hallway. The elevator was also filthy and had graffiti on the wall. The room was spacious and the beds ok, but throughout the night the ac turned off and the room overheated. The shower rusting in the corners. The towels are stiff and crunchy. Avoid this place.

2022-05-08Do not believe the reviews for this hotel. They must be gaming them. The floors are wavy and soft on the 3rd floor, there were hairs over both rooms they gave to me and my 2nd room stank like pot. Do not recommend.
