A lively Mexican Restaurant, great for a meet up with friends and/or family. Saturday night was busy however it didnt take long to get a table and the waiting area had ample seating or the bar as an option.Food was really good and service was friendly, although slow moving at times.
It was seasoned just right. I ordered the meatball soup and the house cadillac margarita. The drink was strong (I only needed one). Hats off to the chef!
Food was good, very busy during dinner time. I had a party of 5 and our food and drinks all arrived at different times. Restaurant needs to move to an OPS system, would function a lot smoother than old style hand writing orders and checks, or do a better hand written system to alíviate their employees so they can provide better customer service and order accuracy.
This place is FANTASTIC, I loved the food it was actually so authentic and looked as good as it smelled. I had SHRIMP FAJITAS WITH RICE AND BEANS!! THE RICE AND BEANS WERE ALSO HOME MADE AND SEASONED PERFECTLY. LOL, I LOVED IT.. DEFINITELY GOING BACK , I HAVE TO TRY A FEW OF THE OTHER THINGS I SAW ON THE MENU.. Tasty place for good Mexican food. I have gone a few times and only had one bad experience. It was not food rested but we got a crappy waiter. I almost chose to never go again but have them another shot last week and got a different waitress and had a way better experience.The food is really good and service is good as well. Id recommend them. They have great fried ice cream.

Ate at this place many times before and the food was absolutely amazing every time. But today I was really disappointed. The food I ordered was horrible and tasted super bland. I called and came back to have my food remade and was told itll be done in 3 mins, I waited almost an hour. Couldnt even remake both orders. Ruined my experience here, never coming here again.
This place very tradional. Casual wear. Prices are from $10-$20 depending what you order. The plates are alot. Next time I will share. There menu has alot to choose from.Food is good and authentic. My sister said the hard tacos with beef were of the chain. The side soup of meat balls was flavorful
0 stars i come here all the time and they know I do and all I get is beans and rice with no cheese I came in after calling to tell them about my order being messed up and they tell me to come in for a order they messed up and didnt give me no refund they said I need the food ... when I come in for a refund but didnt say that on the phone ...now I wasted gas to come over here cause they said they would fix it then they dont.. they dont care a real business told of given the customer a refund

Food was horrible. I’m Asian and my mother can make better Mexican food then what was served here. Friends would tell me about this place and finely tried it. The salsa that they give you with the chips taste like out of a jar. I put this place on par with del taco. The place was packed so I guess all the people that were there must have had COVID and lost their taste buds. The food look good but a big let down.

If I could put a zero, I’d definitely would. This place should change their name from “Mexican” to “wanna be Mexican”. The flavor of the food we got was so bad! No actual flavor, just some salt & pepper. The portions were out of control. Too much food in the plate that I didn’t even know what to do or where to start. The chicken breast was flavorless & the Anaheim chile was disgusting. They over stack my meal with cheese to hopefully add some flavor.My husband got this stew type of thing & the meat was chewy, & it was drench in what I can only hope was canned stew. He loves to eat big portions & pretty much eats anything but he couldn’t even finish his food because of how nasty it was.If you like flavorless food, this is definitely your place to be at. Will never be going here again.My review is based off the food & not the service itself.

We stopped by on a Sunday late afternoon. We were seated in the bar area waiting for us to get called. We sat there for 15 minutes and then we were seated. Excellent food and great service too!

Went there for dinner with a friend. I ordered a combo plate -- shredded beef taco and a chicken enchilada with rice and refried beans. The taco meat needed seasoning, as did the chicken in the enchilada (maybe some salt or cumin?). The rice and beans were okay. Tortilla chips needed salt. But I ate most of it because I was so hungry. Great margarita though, and the service was excellent.
Absolutely fabulous, fantastic .The Food was grand.The service was great.We found this gem by luck.We originally stopped at another place in town, But , since we didnt like the paper plate atmosphere at the other place we left and Found Green Onion. We are so glad we did.
It was ok until my mom pulled a hair out of her mouth when she took a bite out of her chile relleno🤢 also the food came out so quick, which seemed like it wasnt fresh or made to order. It was warmed up soggy food.

Jon is the most attractive server in existence. I thank God for him. Thank you, Jesus. That devil margarita two shots messed me up. It was great. They took long to serve us. We waited over 30 minutes on a day when it wasnt crowded, so thats why I give it 4 starts instead of 5, but the food was great!! I definitely recommend it. Its sanitary, good customer service. Jon had a girlfriend, but Ill be waiting for him in case she is foolish enough to leave him.

Everything was Just o.k. ,except the service was very slow today, our waitress even apologized & said she was the only 1 until 3 pm, We have not been here for over a year due to Covid, & do not live in the area. Prior to Covid, we would even drive 1 hour 1 way due to the food being so good,Maybe new cooks or just short handed. We will definitely return and hopefully it is better, like we remember.

We were celebrating my birthday. The food was good and the service we experienced was good, too. The staff is very friendly. There were nine of us and the food arrived at the table so that we were all able to eat together. They have a great menu and the kids menu was great, too. Excellent Mexican Food and Drinks. Have been going there for years. We go with family and/or friends on regular basis.

Huge, and I mean huge portions. I ate til I was stuffed, brought home leftovers, ate some that night for dinner and have enough left for dinner tonight. The friend I was with ordered a shrimp dish, big giant succulent shrimp about 10-11 of them! Great deal. Not the absolute best Mexican food Ive ever had but well worth giving them your business, we will return.

Service was good but food was not so good. Carne asada was chewy and dry, rice tasted old, salsa was watery, and micheladas were way too spicy to enjoy. Food sat heavy afterwards also. Would have liked to rate higher.
My family has been going there for years. We love the Chicken Tortilla Soup, my mother loved the enchiladas and Dad, well, he loved everything! Their salsa is awesome as well. Good place for kids, service is fine. Also, delicious margaritas!

I used to love this place but its very difficult to get seated if you have more than 6 people. The overflow area should be remodeled to support bigger groups as it only can hold 2 as it stands now. They will however be happy to put you in the Bar, which is not acceptable with kids. Not so much because of the alcohol but because the people are usually very loud and what not. Not hating on people having a good time at all, I just dont want to eat dinner in the Bar.
The food was delicious. It was very busy when we got there and we had a large party, but the wait time wasnt too bad. Im a vegetarian and there were a lot of options for me and it was pretty easy to customize just about anything. The margaritas were super tasty too!

The food is not all that great. Salsa for chips seems like its just tomato puree and added some onions. The fries dont have seasoning. The guacamole was already past due, bitter.. it wasnt fresh it was getting dark in color same for lettuce. Tacos were in-between soft and hard. Chicken on enchiladas were dry. This is just some of the things we found wrong. Not authentic at all.
We had a large party 10 and we got there about an hour before the restaurant closed. The service was good and the food was good as well. They help us celebrate your grandson birthday with a song and a Sombrero. They allowed us to bring in an icecream cake and kept in thier refrigerator until dinner was done. This was the first time we dined there and if we are ever in the neighborhood again we will consider going there again

We have been coming here for 15 years. The food is amazing and the service is typically very good as well. Our kids love the food here and we can always count on getting a delicious meal at a reasonable price. Evenings can be busy, especially on Fridays and Saturdays but during the week before 5pm it is usually very easy to get a table within 5-10 minutes.

Good food and reasonable prices! I was really delighted with my shredded beef wet burrito, very flavorful. My friends were equally happy with their combo fajitas. The topper was the excellent fried icecream which turned into a table clearing spoon fight as everyone tried for the last bite. I recommend 2 for parties of 1 or larger haha. I order for pick up a carne asada burrito with beans and rice on the side. For some odd reason the portions are now small the beans taste like they just opened a can up and put it in a microwave the burrito was flat and not full filling. Taco that comes with it taste like a greasy one that you may get from Taco Bell. They normally serve good food with generous proportions. I guess they are trying to cut food amounts and charge the same. I won’t be ordering from here again until after the shutdown this is ridiculous. Don’t order a margarita to go I made the mistake of buying the double and I was disgusted by how small it was. They are definitely wrong for doing this to loyal customers.
We ordered a tray for each; the enchiladas, beans and rice. It was catering for a birthday parting. It worked out great. The food was delicious, and the guy brought it to our car, so you shouldnt need to bring help. I plan to go in and eat some time as well. Seems like a nice joint.
First off, you have to get a Cadillac Margarita. They are the bomb. The oddest thing about this Mexican restaurant is no Music. That is the only thing that bothers me. The staff is very nice and the service is good. Now the food is good but it does not taste authentic and have that little over the top taste to it. The tacos are pretty Good and large.

I went out to lunch with an old female friend. We both had two Cadillac Margaritas. I thought the drink was too strong to finish. I had Enchiladas Rancheras. My main complaint with the dish were the onions. They were almost unchewable. They needed to be tenderized way more. Friendly waitress.

Looking for restaurant style inexpensive mexican food that is served quickly, this is the place.However, if you are not Mexican, some of the waiters arent as hospitable. This doesnt reflect the attitude of all of the waiters, but still worth mentioning.Given the food is inexpensive I would probably come back and will definitely recommend it to others.
We go here almost once per week. You can seat yourself in bar dining area and enjoy Tony who has been here over 30 years. Last night we sat in restaurant dining area with family members.... The food came out excellant and so fast last night. Shout out to our waiter Jose for all our personalize order changes 😛
Great food. Friendly and quick service. The rice was great and the ground beef was seasoned perfect. Homemade sauce (gravy) was awesome. This was my first time dining here but definitely not my last.
Disappointed with the food. Very bland taste. Some of the meats are over cooked. Beans and rice were just whatever. Salsa was pretty basic. Just tomato sauce really. The restaurant has really gone downhill.
Went to the Green Onion because the wait a BJs was too long. We decided to try out this place. It was cozy and I was able to watch MNF game, so it was all good. Staff seemed friendly when we arrived got greeted then we went to the bar area. The server literally was already bringing the chips and salsa to the table when seated. Happy Hour was in effect got some margaritas then a supreme nachos which the chips seemed like they were homemade. Overall good experience in a nice atmosphere.

I’ll write it again, and just in case they decide to delete it again, I will Be posting on Facebook to the Moreno Valley matters page about their horrible customer service, So they can’t disregard my review that easily. My family has been coming here for more than a decade and we loved coming to eat here with family. Their customer service went down hill. They’re rude and also very racist to blacks. The people working here should have been hired at McDonald’s instead. It is so ridiculous the way they treat their customers, they act as if they aren’t even there and they don’t know how long it will take for a table. We will not be coming back here until they hire new staff with better attitudes. Just plain ridiculous this place has gotten. The lady at the front that takes names down is rude, the manager I spoke to was rude. And when I ordered my food they got it wrong and I even pointed it out on the menu. She said she had no idea what it was and I said if she can’t figure it out, I’d like to talk to another person to put my order in for me correctly, all of a sudden she knows exactly what food I was ordering. 🙄

Always a treat to go to the green onion with my parents. The waitress even brought my boys a jello dessert. Very sweet! One of the servers had an amazing voice when they sang happy birthday to a table! Great mexican food! Burritos are huge!

Great food and great waiter.. Helpful with any question knew all the foods from pictures on google. And gave my kids a free jello desert assuming for behaving good and eating all there food. Would add pictures pictures have bad quality. Great place to eat.
The portions were impressionable but the food was quite bland. The salsa for both the chips and some of the plates are simply tomato sauce and had no spice. I was disappointed by the service as well. I had to continously ask for refills and the waitress did not have a friendly attitude. I will definitely not be returning.

We were looking for a Great Authentic Mexican Food Style Restaurant without having to drive very far. We definitely found it here at the Green Onion and its just down the street from us. The food is beyond fabulous and tastes just like the mexican dishes that your Abuelita and Tias would make for you as kids.Ive tried just about everything on their menu and not once have I ever been disappointed. And to make it even better, their prices are very affordable and their staff is so friendly, they treat you just like family.
Good hard shell chicken taco plate. I like the salsa, but its not spicy. Tortilla chips were warm n not too salty or oily. Ill have to try the black beans next time since they r better for me

Im not mad just disappointed. This used to be my favorite spot in moreno valley. I used to go about 2 times a week with friends, family, and coworkers. But the past year has been nothing but under exceptional. Yes the waitress is nice but it took 20 minutes to get a drink and chips n salsa. She was the only one o the floor while I saw another Male just walking around. Team work makes the dream work help your coworker out! My drink was so strong I couldnt drink it. The salsa seemed sour. I paid and went down the street Joses. I hope the guest experience and the staffing improves cuz I loved the green onion.

I go here often and for bdays. The food is very good. Have ordered several things and it is all great. The skinny margaritas and regular are excellent per our group.
I gave this restaurant a second chance and Im glad that I did. The staff was more attentive this time around. The waiter named Carlos did a wonderful job! When my mom and I were in a disagreement about sharing a deep fried icecream, Carlos gave us the option to have both strawberry and chocolate syrup, along with additional whipcream.

The host in the front was really nice and so was the waitress. Food was alright, I ordered a cup of their albóndigas soup and carnitas. The albóndigas soup was thick and hearty, but the Carnitas were not the best, they lacked flavor and have a rather odd after taste. Overall this place was just alright, portions are big and price is pretty low but really nothing stood out from what I ordered.
The chips in my order of deluxe nachos were burnt. When the waitress asked if I wanted to box up my barely touched entree, after I requested the check, I answered, No, you should tell the cooks not to hide the burnt chips in the nachos. When I informed the hostess as to I was leaving a zero tip the response was, Well let them know. No effort was made to address my issue with the lack of quality of my entree. I will never patronize this business ever again.

This restaurant was a winner for us. It took a minute to get used to the dim lighting, but we were seated in very comfortable booths and the service was quick. We ordered a chile relleno, chicken enchilada, ground beef enchilada, and a carnitas taco. The only disappointment was with the chile relleno, which was a very tiny chile wrapped in a thick crust - not at all the usual recipe. It tasted OK after scraping off the awful crust, but we would never order it again here. The other items were delicious, especially the carnitas. That meat was seasoned to perfection and cooked just right. The enchiladas and the sauce was fine, as was the rice and beans. Another high mark has to be given the margaritas. We really enjoyed the flavor. Overall, one of the best Mexican restaurants weve found in the area. Would definitely recommend it.

If it was possible to leave a negative star or no star at all I would definitely do so. This place was so rude to my party. The host and waiter had no manners. The food was alright and the drinks werent the best. Dont bother leaving a tip at table they take out automatically when paying for your meal.I used to love this place, was introduce years ago when the vibe was friendly the bartender was awesome, food was delish. I dont know what went wrong but I hope they get it together.Sadly for me and my family I dont feel like well be returning.
Our family has enjoyed dining here for over 30 years. It is our favorite Mexican restaurant. Service is fast and the food is served hot and always delicious. We judge all other Mexican restaurants (when travelling) on The Green Onion.

Wehad dinner here on a Tuesday evening and sat in the bar area. We had great service from the man running the bar, he was bad tending,waiting,bussing, and serving. There was just him and one waitress who was so unfriendly and not helpful at all. She was randomly checking on tables when I asked for more water she said ok and went and stood against the wall and watched tv for ten minutes. She was extrenely rude and obluvious to all the tables who needed something or even realizing the bartender needed help. The bar got busy and the poor hardworking gentleman in the bar was trying as best as he could to get everything for everyone in a timely matter. For just the two of us it was $60, we couldn’t believe it. I had water and my husband 2 drinks on Happy Hour which were supposedly $3. I ordered the flautas plate $13 and was disappointed with the serving 2 flautas. My husband has the fajitadilla which was a great serving size, I can’t remember the price for his. Overall the food was fine, the service from the gentleman was great, but the experience was just ok. The prices didn’t seem consistent. We both agreed we won’t be returning to the Green Onion

Restaurant is good for a romantic date if you are into to Mexican food. Waiters could be better. Place is clean enough. Its dark in terms of lighting.it has a bar. The decor is a bit old fashioned.
This place is great. I have been eating here since I was a kid. My fav is the bean and cheese burrito. Its the best. The green onion soft tacos are good too. The iced tea is fresh and delicious.
They are focused on the quality of their food than the look of their place. Fine with me. Wet carnitas burrito was so good. Our party also had chicken tacos, cheese enchiladas, and nuggets for the the little one. No complaints.
From the outside it doesnt look like much and the inside isnt very appealing either, but the food is great and the customer service is good too. My favorite things to order are the fajitas- which is enough to feed 2.5 people- and the chicken mole. I like to order from the specialty menu, I have ordered a combination platter which is a little on the greasy side. I recommend it though for sure!
The food is really good and hot when it comes out to you. It also has a bar and happy hour specials but you have to sit in the bar to get happy hour rates. It can get really loud for people that have hearing issues.
Taco meat was good, (although Im writing this after midnight with food that wont settle... so who knows...) The rest of the meal was bland. Salsa is terrible. Ive always used the salsa as an indication of the quality of a Mexican eatery. In this case I joked with my party that we should leave... we should have. Staff was friendly.
Excellent ! old style genuine tasting Mexican food ... harder and harder to find these days. Arrive early in the afternoon to avoid a Long wait for dinner.Plentiful platters, big portions, awesome chips and salsa .Cold beer, bottomless iced tea and pop.Dang ! Getting a craving
The food usually is very very good. I have had bad service here most of the time. Not very friendly with my mother and I, kinda felt like we were a bother. 0 refills offered, always have to go looking for our server.
I am so glad that this place is back open, we sat at the bar well in the bar section had a couple of marguerite ,the food was magnificent I will go there again and take some friends with Me Too!.
In my opinion the green onion is one of the better restaurants in Moreno Valley Riverside area. The food is exceptional especially shredded beef and the drinks are made very well certainly worth my money. I look forward to eating and socializing with family and friends there in the near future.
Weve been frequenting this place since it opened. Thats a long time! They have great strawberry margaritas, and their salsa and chips are bomb! Prices are very reasonable, and we always have received great service.

Its okay, my hubby liked it here said its authentic, I didnt like the salsa. There chips are hard cooked not thin. The food was served HOT and thats a plus in my book. Try it for yourself.

We tried this place last night for the first time, and we were not impressed. We ordered the shrimp fajitas and the Chili Verde. Both plates had great presentations and hearty portions. The chili verde had no spicy taste to it and it was bland. The shrimp fajitas had only 6 shrimps and were not as tasty as other restraunts. The chips and salsa were warm and fresh, however the salsa tasted like Pace picante sauce.My wife ordered a large margarita, when she received it she was impressed however when she took a drink she complained it was too strong. We looked for the waitress and she asked her the reason why it was strong and the waitress responded that shehad ordered a large which meant a double shot of tequila, which they never clarified what a large meant. We will most likely not return.
Food sucks. I went here and thought it was going to be great because of all the five star reviews but the food was horrible all the people in my party thought the same. The place it self is great the people are friendly the decor is cool. But the food no. carnitas are very very dry. Chile reono was sour and had a funny batter on it. My beef taco was burnt tasting. The Chile verde was tasteless. I will not be going back.
My enchilada platter was delicious. However, my hubbys steak platter was smoothered in cheese (cheese over the beans, cheese over the rice, and cheese over the steak). We would of liked to know it came that way to ask for no cheese... But over all the service was good.
Most of the time I have a great experience but the most recent visit I had with my boyfriend, we asked for a side of fries and the waitress did not understand enough English to comprehend what we were asking for. Then she brought out the wrong food and brought rice instead of fries.
My absolute favorite Mexican food restaurant! A Moreno Valley Classic! Their shredded beef is the best! I wish they would just update the decor a bit. Its been the same since theyve been open.

Ive been coming here with my family since I was a kid. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. The food is better than your average Mexican restaurants, and they have good prices. This is our go to Mexican restaurant!
The restaurant personal are very good. The loud obnoxious b#&*ches at the bar were a real big turn off. I left before ordering food. I have only been there two times in my 13years in . M V. and every time has been a big disappointment in the patrons in the bar area.
I had the wet chicken burrito w/ green sauce and let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS. Picture a large burrito stuffed with moist chicken, perfectly cooked rice, topped with melted cheese and surrounded in a pool of green sauce. Yeah...it was just that good. And the price wasnt half bad either. Under 10$! I went on a sunday. Not sure if that makes any difference, just thought I should include it.
Food was great the waitress was not so good... We had a party of 12 she served us and then left and didnt say anything.. Ill go there again but I will request another Waitress..

Management A young man with colored hair im thinking he was Whited or Hispanic he was very rude to me. I ordered Fresh french frys with no salt and they gave me old frys with salt. I ordered thru the drive thru pulled off and tasted them...When i took them into him and told him that these had salt he literally argued with me and told me they didnt i asked him to taste them he said no im not, asked me for them all back...which was the sizes that start with a H the biggest bag and 2 of the sizes that comes with the 2 bean and cheese burrito meals ...I stood at the counter while they made fresh ones and they were exactly what i asked for with no salt and fresh.Note i did notice with this Specific Bakers and the one in M.V. that they make frys and keep a full tray of frys at all times in a silver holder under the heated frys..like at about knee length .wide open getting cold and un covered..My ? Is why is it to give to the customers when they are really busy and run out...Why?..un served french frys need to be trashed not just left uncovering, opened feets from the floor...

My wife and I have been coming here since we started dating in the 80s. The food has always been great. I used to always order one of the burritos sonora style (wet with sour crwam and guacamole). Now we usually split the steak and shrimp fajitas and get out for $25 including tip. When we bring the 3 kids, we order the taco platter for $12 and the whole evening is about $35. It a great deal for really good food.

Horrible! The food was bland and everything was covered with melted cheese. My 8 year old son tried the fajitadillas and after 2 bites said he wasnt hungry. Later he confessed that he was hungry but the food was inedible (his word not mine). It seems that people give this place good reviews after having a margarita. Guess I shouldve been drunk before ordering. Never going here again.
My familys favorite Mexican Kitchen for over two decades. Great, fresh food for the right price. Fast and courteous service too. Not to mention, awesome margaritas!
Food is great, and the place is where all the locals visit. The only little negative is they always seem to be short staffed and there tends to be a long wait. Still coming back because the tacos are amazing.

This place has suprized me!!! The mexican food here is one of the best!!! I have tasted many different Hispanic cuisine places and I kid you not Im putting this on my top 10 list!!! The service is 4/5. The food portions are good 4/5. The price is a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion!! I recommend this place if you love Mexican food!
Always a good time.I really enjoy everytime we go.Friendly staff,delicious food.Great for all ocassions.Family and kids friendly.I wish the menu had a bit more variety thow.Like more sea food options for example.A siete mares soup would be great add and also a mariscada dish.Just as a recomendation if you never visited The green onion after 5pm gets busy and weekends you might want to call before arriving or ask for a reservation at those times waiting is about 25 to 45 minutes.But totally worthed.

Freshly made salsa comes with tortilla chips when you sit down. Very large menu with lots of great options and all at good prices. I had the beef Fajitadilla and loved it!

The server was very friendly but the food was not good. I ordered a carnitas burrito and i was very disappointed. The meat didnt look or taste like carnitas. Later that day I got a terrible stomachache which Im sure was caused by the burrito. I went to this place because it had good reviews but in my opinion I wouldnt recommend it.
Last week ordered carneasada,burrito,enchilada,nachospicked it up,all beans with 2 pieces of carneasada,never again!! Use to be good not take out they know you not cutting ot open to cjeck for meat

2021-12-18Old school restaurant. The food is pretty good. Margaritas are strong. Very clean and service was nice. Prices are reasonable. Im really curious why they have a sign at the entrance stating no refunds on alcohol. There must be a funny story behind that.

2022-04-16This place has always been a place with home cooked meals, and theres many to choose from. The state always professional and when asked it will be given just how you like it. Ive been going to the restaurant for over 20 years yes some waitress and waiters have changed over the years and the food has gotten better as well . The only this I notice the other day was the beautiful pictures along the walls. This place will always be a 10 for me and my now grown children. Thanks for that late night chips and salsa. That late night run when you need a quick fix.Lol.

2022-05-08Always had great service until the other day. Service was very bad. After 30min. Had to ask for a waitress from the man cleaning tables. My friend got her meal, 20min. Before I finally got mine. Cooks were slow and wasnt happy with anything for the first time. There were intervals before getting anything.

2022-08-15Burritos are real hit or miss. I sounds like it depends on the cook. They need to be cooking uniform food. Its a 40/60 good/bad mostly. Then your also gambling if you and your date will be sick the next day also. More engaged management is required here
