This place was recommended to us when we moved into town and it did not disappoint! It’s a wonderfully stocked store and such a joy to visit. Even at their busiest times on a weekend they have staff in the parking lot directing cars to get people in and out of spots fast and easy, and they are just as efficient inside moving lines along at a quick pace. You get very knowledgeable and friendly service. You’ll be sure to leave with a smile!
I go to both Green Acres nurseries in my area. After going to them both, they each have unique qualities. I prefer the other one over this place. Only because they have more selection of the types of items Im seeking. Please, do continue to go here. They have really great quality materials.
If you are ever feeling blue, come here. The space is huge and they carry every plant you can imagine. (I came first day of May). It will cheer you up instantly just from the sights and smell of all the plants. The prices are great and staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I also love that they will load the soil out front for you. Just tell them what bags of soil or manure you need at the register (do a quick walkthrough first so you know what you want) and someone will get it for you. No rip bags of soil all opened on the floor like Home Depot.
This nursery is one of my all time favorites. Whether your a home owner, renter, or contractor this is a one stop shop for all your gardening and outdoor needs. They have everything from indoor gardening and decor to outdoor furniture and BBQs. The staff is always really friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Their nursery is amazing they have a excellent variety or fruit and shade trees and their flowers and vegetables are always healthy and plentiful and the best variety of plants around. You wont be disappointed
This Nursery is maintained maticulously... always extremely clean, very well-stocked with a fantastic variety of options in plants and trees, landscape products (tools, sprinkler systems, ground covers, fertilizers and much more).Beautiful selections of outdoor patio furniture, fire tables, lighting, pottery, water fountains, crafts, wind chimes...one of the best places to shop for everything outdoors and indoors for plants and accessories.Very friendly and knowledgeable staff are eager to assist, answer questions and make suggestions. Easy access east right off Hwy 99 at Laguna-Bond Road in beautiful Elk Grove, California.
It is always a treat to go walk around green acres. I am always able to find way more than what I went looking for. Todays planting project came out very nice.Update: I love the expanded greenhouse area for all the housplants. It seems like some of the plants in there have been in kinda rough shape but I still cant get them anywhere else locally so I pick them up anyway.
Very, terribly helpful employees. They went out of their way to help me. I think 6 total employees were consulted to best answer my questions about my roses. I felt completely valued as a customer. They answered all my questions to their best ability and it showed. Highly recommend!
Went there for one thing..oops! First time at this store! There’s so much, I didn’t even walk around the whole place. The employee that helped me was very knowledgeable and gave me great advice! Not only did I get my watering can (original purpose of trip), I got two new plants and a few other items. I wish I got his name, but thank you for helping and great product recommendation!
Do you love plants?Do you love dogs?Look no further! Today was my first day going to Green Acres Nursery and I was not disappointed. They have such a huge selection of plants and flowers and trees, I was blown away. Everything was beautiful. The vibe was calm and chillax. The layout of the store is very nice ( albeit the aisles are a tad small). Plus they are dog friendly, so we got to see really cute dogs and pet them while seeing beautiful plants. This is the ideal place for plant moms + dads and for people seeking really great starts on their plants. I will definitely be coming back even just to browse. Oh and did I mention? They have soil, pots, hoses, wind chimes and more!
Best nursery in town!I’ve been here numerous of times and it’s always A delight. They have tons of indoor plants, cacti, garden plants, vegetable plants and bonsai plants. Prices are reasonable but some rarer plants are obviously more pricey.Staff is always helpful and friendly , they’ll give you advice on plant care, help bring plants to you car if needed. They also give coupons with purchase!I particularly come here for indoor plants but I recently bought some pumice here!
It is by far the very best place to shop when it comes to improving your homes outdoor area you and your indoor area. Your selection of fruit trees and normal trees is unsurpassed. If youre looking for those hard to find plants youre such a good chance youre going to find it at Green Acres. And every year I shop there for those hard to find Christmas gifts for those hard to please people on your Christmas list. Their employees are very knowledgeable if they dont have an answer they will get somebody that does do yourself a favor and visit your local Green Acres Nursery even if you have to drive a while to get there.
They had THE biggest pumpkin selection Ive ever seen! Every staff member was outgoing and friendly, the store is immaculately cleaned, stocked and organized. The manager, Carlos, is a totally great dude, so knowledgeable. The whole experience is recommended to anyone reading this review. Their outdoor plant section is amazing! Cant find it? It just may not exist.
Buyer’s Remorse—Save your money! Their houseplant section has become more and more over-priced throughout the years! And, every month the prices just keep increasing with no end in sight… You’ll know what I mean when you get there! An affordable miniature African Violet (AV) was $4.50 in January 2022. In February 2022, the same miniature AV took a price hike to $8.50 (doubling their money.) This is absurd when they can get wholesale prices. Green Acres is trying to double down/triple their coins on their houseplants. Stay away! Go to Lowes and Walmart for similar plants at 75%-50% of the savings. Even Etsy is more affordable! Be a blessing somewhere else.
Its difficult to overstate the beauty and immensity of this place. In addition to pretty much any kind of plant you could possibly be on the prowl for, they have an impressive selection of multiple types of pumpkins. I am now fully stocked for Halloween. Whats more, they carry all manner of ceramics, holiday decor, and even glassware. I want to live here!
Well Ive always enjoyed Green acres and any of the garden supply places to be honest. The staff here are exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable and thats good when those two things go hand in hand. They have a great selection of trees and plants and pots and even little decorations and patio furniture barbecues and all sorts of stuff for the house.
Great selection..the staff are so helpful. The pricing on plants are not as competitive as the big box stores but I find their plants to be better taken cared of... while the plants are sitting at the store to be sold compared to the big box store plants since they have more dedicated plant caretakers on staff.
My family and I LOVE Green Acres! We spend lots of time wandering the store and admiring all they have to offer. The customer service is usually very good, and all employees can pretty much answer any questions you may have. Their products are very high quality, and we recently purchased 18 trees from them. However - if you come within an hour of closing, expect all of this to change. We have experienced this on two different occasions in the past month. The store’s doors close, giving off the appearance that the store isn’t even open. For example, they closed the doors at 5:45 tonight when we were inside, even though the store doesn’t officially close until 7:00. The employees are rushing around like they are closing any minute, and are very short with you. It’s very frustrating since this is a huge change from what they normally are like at other times! We normally love stopping in, but will avoid going in the evenings now.
This place is pretty cool! They have many types of orchids which I love! They have so many plants so I wasnt able to see everything. The customer service was good. Coming here again hopefully soon when I start getting more and also being more familiar with different plants.
Always helpful friendly staff. Very nice variety of plants and great selection of supplies. Patio furniture, shade structures, umbrellas and barbecue’s and even fountains. Tools and plant foods. Sprinklers. You can easily spend a lot more casual time here than you would think.
Staff at Green Acres are friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They identified some plant problems (pests & fungus) and recommended treatments that wouldnt break the bank. They also told me two of my plants arent the species that a landscaper said they were! I really appreciate all of that.
Came here on a Sunday. Place was packed. Line was longer than Costco lines 😅 checked the plants out and left. Too busy. PS. Forgot to add that we definitely will be back. They have a wide selection of plants and we love planning our future picks and they have wonderful staff that are always super helpful. Long lines but worth it in the end 🙂
My husband and I visited for the very first time. We absolutely loved the variety! The store is absolutely beautiful! They had everything that we were looking for. Although I was very disappointed in the customer service. When we were looking through the indoor plants no one came up to ask if we had any questions. When I asked the girls working at the time questions that I had about different plants they were extremely brief. It seemed as if they didn’t want to help me. But other than that we loved the store. Hopefully the next time we visit we experience better customer service.
I absolutely love Green Acres Nursery. Even just pulling into the parking lot is impressive. The building and grounds are beautiful. The possibilities for your home, yard and garden...are endless. They have every kind of house plant, flowers, fruit trees, trees and everything in between. There are beautiful fountains and massive clay pots. Inside the building, it is full of beautiful yard decorations, chimes, planting pots, soil, yard furniture, seeds...etcetera. We recently purchased a Preying Mantis egg that just hatched. There were so many amazing little babies. My little guy was so excited to release them into the back yard. And the staff here is always, simply amazing and helpful. Perfect.
My first time at any Green Acres Nursery and Im hooked. This place had the best service and an incredible selection of just about anything you could need/want for gardening. All the plants were in great condition and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are a bit more, but the service, selection and atmosphere more than compensate for what you might get elsewhere. I rarely rate anything, but this place deserves all the accolades it gets. I plan on shopping there OFTEN.
I had such a wonderful experience here today. I received outstanding customer service from Ryan. He was extremely helpful and so knowledgeable. He was also very patient in explaining things to me (I am new at this outdoor planting stuff...lol). Ryan put this together with me and I was able to take it home and place it in its new home! Thank you Green Acres and THANK YOU RYAN!
Love this place! The employees are well educated and the organization hosts lots of training sessions. They are very big on educating as many people as possible and providing quality service and products. I love the variety of indoor plants they have! Yes, some things are cheaper at Lowes/Home Depot, but this is an actual garden/yard center so the best of the best is here.
I bought an office plant. It died within a week of purchase. They wouldnt return or exchange it or help me. The policy wasnt explained when I purchased the plant and they did nothing to assist me once i brought the plant in. Disappointed and I wont be shopping here again.
This is the largest of the three Green Acres nurseries weve visited in the area. What we like best about Green Acres is how logically it is arranged. All plants with similar growing requirements are grouped together. You will pay a bit more fire plant material and garden supplies here than at HD or Lowes, but their plants are better quality, they have much better selection, and they really do stand behind their one year replacement warrantee on plants. Plus, the odds of being able to talk to someone who really knows their stuff is much higher here.
They have excellent customer service. And they explain you how to take care of the plants. The nursery is bigger than Lowes or Home depot. This location is well spread out and the interior is as organized on the inside, with long rows labeled for those looking for something specific. I love just walking around the store and browsing at the products they sell. I was more interested in the terrariums they had in the store. My husband bought the front yard plants from here. And last year during Halloween they had kids activities.
For the most part I like Green Acres plant nursery because of their large selection, however, dont ask for any special services. I left my name, email address, and request for a specific white Camellia bush that they usually have and thought they could get again, and that was about a month and a half ago. Havent heard a word. This isnt the first time this has happened either. So, you cannot count on Green Acres nursery for services, but if you want to actually drive there and shop they usually have a great selection of plants with what I would call acceptable pricing (sometimes a little high).
Very good place to buy trees. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The number of plants and trees is abundant. I bought a cherry tree and a peach tree. Planting was not easy though. They said to cut the bottom of the container and put slices on the sides. Box cutter did not work. I had to use a saw and then the whole thing fell apart. But Green Acres is the best.
I love Green Acres. The staff is always helpful. But they are a bit more expensive but well worth it.Update: They have lots to choose from as far as plants. The also sell patio furniture, soil, planters, etc. I do gave my eye on a special plant. I cant wait until payday.
Love this place. They open early, so I go first thing on Saturday to find what I need. I always find unique plants here. People are very helpful and will carry out and help you get plants and bags of dirt in the car. My 87 year old mother gets all the help she needs getting things into the car.
When I first got there the girl who was supposed to help me was not helpful and had a really nasty attitude. The manager Save the Day. With the managers help I was able to buy the flowers I wanted pots dirt she made everything much better. Now I can enjoy planting my garden tomorrow. The manager is very nice but the help is not very helpful
Came for the selection. Was not disappointed. Was incredibly disappointed by the staff. Unfriendly and lots of side eye from employees who then turn away. Im honestly disappointed because other locations are wonderful from selection and service and just general friendliness.
Stopped in because we saw the store from the freeway. It just happened to be Bring your dog day....Every single worker we encountered was personable, engaging and genuinely cared. They took time for a little casual conversation abd were so sweet to my big German Shepherd Axel. Everyone petted him and wanted to visit with him too. We got him micro chipped while we were there too. The store was beautiful and clean. Staff first class. Selection wonderful. Great variety. This place is a rare gem! Whomever does the hiring and managing of this store has done a brilliant job. Bravo folk. Well done!
They have a very wide selection of healthy plants. There is good information posted around various plants, and even though the area is large, it is pretty easy to find what you are looking for, as the plants are arranged well. Staff were friendly and lines were fast when I went (Sunday around noon).
I knew I wanted a couple of plants I couldnt get just anywhere, so I asked my gardening friend if she would go along with me. She had been there earlier in the week, but was glad to go again. This was one of the best nursery stores I have been to in my life, and this does not even exclude other countries! (I have lived in Europe frequently, and have been to some fabulous nurseries.)I spent 168 American Dollars and got: fabulous, huge, and wonderfully colored pots - taken from me and delivered to the front while I kept shopping; a large exotic Monrovia plant, 10 other plants of various size and quality - all in wonderful condition, as well as some gardening equipment.I know for a fact that if I had gone to Home Depot for the same things, I would NOT have exactly what I wanted - or needed, BUT, I would have spent the same amount of money. I surely would not have the help and advice, but HD is not where you go for that anyway. For reference, I have been, again with my friend - we seem to need plants no one else has) to the Jackson Road site several times, and had equal experience.I hope this business continues to grow and continue this wonderful service.P.S. I dont only buy for myself - I also buy for Interior Design clients..
I purchased Sod using Green Acres Nurserys online form and was pleasantly surprised by the smooth process. Read the page thoroughly as it contains accurate information regarding lead times and such. The communication by the Delta Bluegrass Company that supplied and delivered the sod was phenomenal. The friendly driver placed the pallet of Sod where I wanted in the front of my house, which, if you have ever carried sections of sod, you know is a tremendous help.Overall, I would order sod from Green Acres Nursery & Supply again.
Terrifyingly tidy, well laid-out and efficient. Well-maintained carts (and plenty of them), knowledgeable staff and plenty of plant selection. This location is a bit more formal than the Jackson Road store, mainly because it is aimed at the large consumer Asian demographic down in EG, rather than the contractor-targeted Jackson Road store (My guess). Anyway, I love both stores, and the prices are the same, Im told.Easy to get to from i99.
Everyone here is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful without fail. Every visit that Ive made to this store has resulted in exactly what I needed and without any delays in service. Truly wish that all customer service personnel were so well versed and customer centric. Home Depot and Lowes, Im looking at you.
Update.I have visited the store several more times and besides my bad experience of the store closing early, I have to say the people working there earn a 5 stars on professionalism and friendliness.I drove there today (11/21), the day before Thanksgiving and they were closed before their posted closing time! I called earlier in the day to see if they still had the item and the lady did not mention they were closing early. I called before leaving again but there was no message or anything to indicate they closed early. The phone just rang and rang. Unprofessional.Waisted my time and gas. Minus 1 star
I would like to comment on the outstanding, helpful and knowledgeable staff here. Today Bryce on the patio was excellent and when I commented on this to the manager, I learned it was his first day. Another outstanding staffer is Marcel also in the outside garden area. Thanks to you both.
When I went in there to get some hanging plants for my front porch, they had a large selection. I was given information that was incorrect regarding plants/flowers that could be in direct sunlight but remedied that situation. I will go back there to get seeds to plant in the planter where the flowers died due to the incorrect info. Overall, I was very pleased with my choice of nurseries to go to.
Lots of plants! So many trees! Separate room devoted to house plants. Nice selection of air plants and succulents. Outdoor furniture. Decorations. Usual lawn and garden supplies. Lots of parkung. The staff are always wonderful! Well informed and happy to help. Love it!
I really enjoyed shopping at Green Acres in Elk Grove. I was after a very specific Japanese Maple tree and they had several to choose from. I had help from an employee that was very knowledgeable about the Japanese Maple family and she was very kind and thoughtful of my search.
Whats not to love about the Elk Grove location? Best selection, best prices, best customer service, friendly and knowledgeable employees, dog friendly. We drive all the way from Oakdale for the selection and service. Our dog, Watson gives it 5 Paws 🐾 for all the treats and dog pools.
I of course love this place.. Brought my kids with me and they were complaining they were not interested in plants..I came out with two kids and a cart full of plants they want to care for I didnt have to say a word. This beautiful place did all the work 😀 thank you Green Acres

2022-05-24This is the first time Ive been here and I am totally impressed. From their roomy interior to the canopy overhead so you dont get heat stroke looking at the plants to the well organized products so you can find things easily. Im a fan. I love that there is a huge separate greenhouse for the indoor plants too. Made orchids easy to find. I didnt have much time to shop but what I saw impressed me. I will definitely have make some extra time to go back!

2022-02-17If youre looking for strawberry plants and more variety of lavenders than 2 (Spanish & French) types at big stores, then this nursery is for you. They also have great bark sizes for orchid along with rocks for top dressing your plants. Only wish they would carry the clear orchid pots too.Happy gardening!

2021-08-07I am absolutely in love with Green Acres for the unique plants they carry to the knowledgeable and helpful staff. I can always find a friendly face. Diego has been my go to guy for a lot of questions from orchids to succulents to soils and pots. I have been a transplanting fiend the past 3 weeks as it has been my happy spot during some stressful days. Loving how my “Birds Garden Sanctuary” has transformed over the years and Green Acres has helped bring some unique finds to add to the lushness. I make visits Whenever I need a lift to my day, whether to make a purchase or just stroll through. Always a sense of peace.

2021-07-31What a great nursery - knowledgeable staff. Friendly, and encourages you to bring in your dog with water and treats for them. The variety of plants from succulents, perennials and annuals was tremendous with substantial numbers of each kind. Plants seemed healthy and well cared for. Inside were all kinds of watering solutions , garden decorations and patio furniture. The number of umbrella, table, chairs, sofa, fire pit combinations on display was certainly sufficient to allow you to make a good choice for your outdoor living.

2022-06-09I made sure to invite my mom to go on this shopping trip with me, because Green Acres is her favorite place to shop for plants. Its a nice environment for casually browsing while hanging out with another plant lover. You can even bring your dog.Three weeks ago, I wanted to try growing strawberries in my new hydroponic system. I had no experience with hydroponics or growing strawberries. I bought a six pack of Albion strawberry plants, because a helpful employee recommended them for flavor. I also bought a six pack of Quinault strawberry plants, because my hydroponic system has 12 growing pods and I wanted at least two varieties in my hydroponic strawberry patch. They came planted in soil, so to transplant them, I carefully rinsed the roots. The pods for my hydroponic system came with sponges which I cut in half vertically. I sandwiched the top of the roots between the moistened sponge halves and gently squeeze them into the pods letting the bottom the roots hang below. I planted the Albion strawberries on the left and the Quinault strawberries on the right. All of the plants survived. The Quinault plants have already doubled in size and started growing strawberries. Today I picked my first Quinault Strawberry and it was delicious. 🍓😋

2021-09-08If its a plant that can grow in your region, this store will have it. The staff is very helpful with information on plants and giving ideas for which plants may do well in certain areas. Id recommend taking pictures of the space youre looking to add a plant to as this will help the staff give you the best suggestions. Sign up for the newsletters for info on sales, tips for plants, and other ideas.,

2022-05-05OMG it’s huge and great collections. Price is too high on patio accessories/ furnitures though. I rather shop at HomeDepot or Lowes for those things.

2021-07-04The staff are extremely knowledgeable. If you have any questions about taking care of your garden, landscape, or even indoor plants they can help you find the right solutions and the best plants.

2021-05-26Green Acres Nursery & Supply is a wonderful location to select just the perfect landscaping items and plants for your home. The selection is so huge, if you cant find what you like, you probably just dont know what you like. Not only do the have a complete supply of landscape plants, shrubs, grass, and trees but they also have a huge selection of landscape decorations, outdoor grills, and outdoor furniture. This was my first ever visit to Green Acres Nursery & Supply, do yourself a favor and check out Green Acres Nursery & Supply. If you find my review helpful please give me a thumbs-up 👍. Thank you
